Fear is a complex and versatile entity and, therefore, it is manifested differently depending on who she's interacting with. Above all, Rosemary does whatever is necessary in order to have the upper hand, including obtaining leadership roles and charming her way through situations. However, there is an innate violence and self-righteousness in her soul that cannot be erased. She has no problem justifying her actions, ramming people over, or making everyone fear her if it means getting what she desires. Afterall, Rosemary believes that fear is power and power is fear.

At work, she's a charismatic and attentive waitress with the right balance of professionalism and charm that makes dinner that much more pleasant for the customer and, as a result, earns her generous tips. However, her co-workers do not necessarily see her in the same light as her patrons. Rosemary is a control freak and refuses to let anyone lend her a hand or negatively impact her performance. She has no time to waste nor any time to slow down to wait for anyone who's just too slow to keep up.

Her peers are never sure what to make of her. Even though she's intelligent, Rosemary is not a nerd or geek. She's not afraid to talk back or contradict teachers, especially not arrogant ones who like to think they can submit her through fear. Hell, she's fear itself. She isn't very fond of the popular students either, despite their initial attempt to include her in their group, and she's just as likely to get into an argument with them. Really, Rosemary really doesn't belong anywhere in the hierarchy of high school except at the very top, in her own category.

However, this doesn't mean that Rosemary is a solitary creature. Fear is best when caused by large numbers and she thrives on social interactions of all kinds. She's just very selective. To those she truly cares about, which is not many, Rosemary is loyal to death. Despite her dominating personality, Rosemary can be very attentive to those she cares about.

Fear was always powerful. From the very first moment a human encountered a bear, Fear was in control. Whether the human chose to fight or flee, Fear was always there. Some humans managed to control their fear. Others allowed Fear to control them. And Fear relished in that power and that control. Some believed that her control should never extend beyond making humans survive. But Fear soon discovered that humans would do so much more than just survive if they were afraid. By making them afraid, they would do almost anything. And that level of power gave Fear a sort of high, nearly drove her crazy with it.

So Fear manipulated humanity. She kept them afraid, made them do things out of fear. She made them attack others because they were afraid, and made the others attack out of fear. It began an endless cycle, one that kept her alive. She became so used to that fear that she allowed herself to become complacent. After all, the world was so full of fear and anger, it kept her going. So she allowed herself to take a step back. And humanity became numb. News of terrifying things no long terrified them. Their fear no longer motivated them to act, and certainly not to help other people.

Fear's actions earned her a place on Earth. It was hoped that, by teaching others the value of fear, Fear herself would remember the importance of it. She adopted the name of Rosemary Adams. She claimed to be an emancipated minor, having left the care system after the death of her parents. This story meant she had to rent a tiny apartment and work in order to pay the bills. She did, however, use her influences to earn herself a raise, making her boss afraid that she wouldn't be able to make rent from month to month. She also managed to manipulate her landlord into giving her the lowest rent possible, so she gets by somewhat comfortably.
