Appearance Description
Taura's height causes her to tower over most girls and a bit of the boys at Fukushima High. Her smooth, chestnut hair is swayed easily by the lightest of breezes and she constantly has to move it over her ears to prevent her eyes from being covered. Taura's chocolate-colored eyes rarely blink and she likes to focus them on everything for long periods of time. Due to the rigorous training needed to fit the role of the Swim Team Captain, Taura's body is mildly toned and built. Her thin, pink lips are rarely pulled back into a smile, but when they are they always cover Taura's artificially whitened teeth and express minimal emotion. Her wardrobe consist of many clothes that are meant to be layered upon each other, as Taura likes to cover up as much as she can and feels protected by the thickness of the clothing on her. She is a fan of scarves and sweaters draped over the shoulders when not adorned in her school uniform.

Personality
Taura seems to lack the mental filter that exists in most people. A bit of her peers are intimidated by her due to her height and bluntness. She doesn't understand the way white lies work and likes to "keep it real" with everybody. Taura's face is almost always in the same, blank state and this has led to theories of her not owning any emotions beyond content and irritated. When provoked, Taura quickly releases her anger through a short, intense phrase of words then expects you to leave her presence as soon as possible. When the rare moment of Taura showing an abundant amount of emotions occurs, the quick burst of excitement or irritation cause timidness in everybody around her.

Taura isn't much of an extrovert or introvert. Anybody who approaches her shouldn't expect a 'Hello' or 'How are you?', but they would never see the Swim Team Captain distance herself from them. Some people like to call her 'The Rock' since she is often seen in the school but never arouses much attention. They like to say that she's just a living rock in the school that's just meant to be there, that's it. Authorities tend to take a liking towards Taura due to the fact that she gets her work done and likes to stay out of trouble's path. She has a few close connections throughout the school, but mostly she has some sort of friendship with everyone. If Taura felt any sort of hatred towards a person, she would just quickly cut any contact with them and move on.

In the swimming area, nothing much changes. Taura's feeling of protection from the many layers of clothing she wears disappears, but this doesn't seem that much noticeable except from the occasional jump when calling her name. When competing, people get a sense of carelessness from her since Taura's face remains in the same expression throughout the whole time she is in the water. Whatever her placement is in the competition, Taura nods with content and, like most of the time, moves on with her life like nothing ever happened.

Story
Taura was born to a high-class family on August eleventh. The clock struck a minute before midnight as soon as Taura took her first breath of life. Her crying was minimal and any noise from her stopped a few short moments after the doctor cleaned a bit of the blood off of her. The medical authorities were a bit worried, but this was only the start of Taura's lack of emotional feeling.

Throughout her childhood, Taura's parents supplied her with the most expensive toys, gadgets, and clothing. Whenever she wanted something, she received it. Whenever something bothered her, it was taken away. Taura's father thought this was the best way to keep his daughter happy, but her mother had a different opinion, fearing that Taura would grow up to be a spoiled brat that threw tantrums when something doesn't go her way. However, the mother was wrong and Taura never showed signs of brattiness or resentment when not given something she desired. Her parents thought she would change if another child came into the family so her mother refrained from pregnancy to keep Taura as the only child in the household.

The other children were always scared of Taura. She was always the tall one in the class and most of the boys were ashamed to be close to her. While other young girls were experienced 'puppy love' through little love notes and flowers handed to them by other young boys, Taura was at the local swimming pool swimming pool practicing breath techniques. Her father would often come and help her, and soon enough Taura became a skilled swimmer at the age of seven. Some of the boys were attracted to Taura's beauty and skill, but she never returned the affections that were given to her.

Shortly before starting high school, Taura somehow found her way into a regional swimming competition. Her parents came to watch and cheered for their daughter as she sped past the other participants in the shining, blue water. Earning a trophy for first place, this was the start of Taura's competitive swimming career and eventually one trophy turned into a whole counter of trophies. Her parents have a little place on the wall on top of the living room television that showcases all of Taura's swimming achievements.

Her sexuality was often questioned during her earlier teenage years. Some would think of her as a lesbian, while others thought she was just a shy heterosexual who was too shy to make a move on any of the guys. Taura struggled internally as she tried to find her sexually identity. She experimented with both genders in an attempt to break the internal shadow hiding her true sexuality, but failed. Her parents found about their daughter's actions and held a family meeting one night to try to get her to stop. Instead of actually listening, Taura threw herself into a deep session of thought, and this was when she realized that she didn't have a sexuality, that she might be an asexual. Since then, Taura learned to accept this part of herself. However, at times, she questions herself once again when a strange feeling of emptiness creeps into her life.

At the start of her first year at Fukushima, Taura joined the Broadcasting Club and the Swim Team. She remained an ordinary member of the Broadcasting Club throughout the year, although in the Swim Team she really impressed other members and the captain. Eventually, Taura was handed the role of Swim Team Captain at the start of her second year and has led the team to a few victories at competitions against other schools.

Taura Tsukino

Taura sauntered through the school, occasionally pulling her chocolate hair back onto her ears. In her right hand were flyers for the swim team. People would give her strange looks as they passed since no one had noticed Taura enter the school building that morning. Most of them would snicker and call her 'The Rock' quietly, though Taura was quite aware of the name-callings.

Ignore them, Taura thought. She continued gently setting the flyers up onto the school walls. Her face remained in the same, expressionless state that showed her focus. No one except Taura would be so careful about establishing papers onto walls. On the way, near the school entrance doors, she finally became tired of excavating the school for bare walls and stayed in one spot while staring at a window that showed a view of the outside world.

Shouting, Taura forced her hand with the flyers up into the air. "Fukushima High Swim Team!" cried Taura, gently waving the flyers in the air. People passed by while giving her the same strange looks she received when called 'The Rock'.

"I am Taura Tsukino, third year Swim Team Captain," began Taura, uncaring of the staring eyes of passing classmates. "The swim team is in need of new members. If you would like to join, please come to me."

She waited, tapping her left foot on the ground. Offering the flyers to other students didn't work and Taura sighed. She persisted on, however, and stayed planted in the same spot with the same, expressionless face that showed her intesity.

No one seemed interested in the swim team's flyers. Taura grunted and forcefully splatted the flyers onto the wall. Her bottom lip sprang up a bit and her eyebrows dove down, creating a bit of a scary frown on her face. How was she going to get new members for the swim team? Who knew when the first swimming competition would be...

There were barely any students in the school now. Most of them were outside in the courtyard, ready for the start of the welcoming ceremony. Taura took this advantage to march around the school to see if there were any vulnerable students to force into the swim team. She didn't enjoy the fact that recruiting new members came down to this, but what must be done must be done.

On the way, Taura spotted a muscular third year, Touya Wataragani, standing by a couple of sheets. He seemed familiar to her and wondered if he was in the same class as her, 3B. Touya looked like he was waiting for someone.

"Hey," said Taura as she paced herself towards Touya. "Do you want to join the swim team? I suggest you do. It's a really great place to show skill and technique." Taura put her arms behind her back and crossed two of her fingers. She hoped that this boy would accept her request.

If not, Taura would have to forfeit Fukushima High from the list of competing schools in the first swim competition.

Yuki Hayashi

No... I should be the one apologizing... I started yelling like that in front of everyone... I must have embarrassed you... Not only that but I called you Yuki, it uh... Just kinda slipped out... I had a friend I called Yuki before so... I guess it's just a habit. I'm really sorry...

Yuki's eyes widened at this and she shook her head. "No, it's okay. I understand you were angry. That guy was the one who was embarrassing me, not you. And Satomi-chan..." Yuki put her hand on Kiku's shoulder. "...I don't mind if you call me by my first name. We're friends, right?" Yuki had a very wide smile on her face. "So, please don't worry anymore.. Okay? Yuki took her hand off of Kiku's shoulder. "I have to go sign up for this. I'll be right back." Yuki made a small wave at Kiku and ran off.

Yuki ran towards the sign up sheets for the martial arts club and noticed two people standing there. She had been running for a while so she was a little out of breath, but she smiled as soon as she caught up to them. "Hello!" She turned to Touya and bowed slightly. "I'm here to sign up for the martial arts club. I seen you and your sister sparring with those other guys.. And I have some experience in martial arts myself. So I'd like to join you please!" Yuki just then realized she butted into their conversation. "Gah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to butt in... Um, carry on." Yuki blushed and took a step back.

There was suddenly an announcement that the opening ceremony was beginning, but Yuki ignored it. She wanted to be a good student, but she also didn't want to take the chance of seeing that Kyoya fellow again. Hmm, but then again... That girl would probably just tell him to back off... Like I didn't have the guts to do... Yuki sighed at her thoughts and snapped back out of them again, realizing she was still here with people.

Touya
"Do you want to join the swim team? I suggest you do. It's a really great place to show skill and technique." I turned to see a girl from my class, I believe her name is Taura Tsukino. "I'm sorry Tsukino-san, but I'm the leader of the Martial Arts Club. I have my hands full already. And um, I can't swim." I rubbed the back of neck in an embarrassed manner as I said the last thing. Thankfully a distraction appeared just then. A first year girl ran up. "I'm here to sign up for the martial arts club. I seen you and your sister sparring with those other guys.. And I have some experience in martial arts myself. So I'd like to join you please!" I felt a little guilty, after Tsukino-san had just tried to get me to join the swim team. I opened my mouth to speak when the girl spoke again. "Gah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to butt in... Um, carry on." Then she took a step back. "No no, its quite all right. All you need to do is put your name on the Martial Arts Club sign up sheet. Our first meeting is today after school." I smiled and gestured to the sheet next to me.

Taura Tsukino

"I'm sorry Tsukino-san, but I'm the leader of the Martial Arts Club. I have my hands full already. And um, I can't swim." said Touya, looking embarrassed as he as he rubbed the back of his neck. Taura sighed. Who is going to join the swim team, she thought. Just then, a first year girl with silver hair made her way to Taura and Touya. She stated that she wanted to join the Martial Arts Club and Taura felt her own eyes burn.

"No no, its quite all right. All you need to do is put your name on the Martial Arts Club sign up sheet. Our first meeting is today after school." Touya gestured to the sign up sheets to the first year whose name was Yuki Hayashi. Taura moved her hair back onto her ears and gently put herself into the new conversation.

"Hello, my name is Taura Tsukino!" Taura put on a smile towards Yuki, hoping that this would ease the girl as she had blushed earlier and the redness still hasn't quite left her cheeks. "I see you're joining the Martial Arts Club. Wataragani-san must be a great club leader, but I am also a club leader. Well, sort of. I'm the captain of the swim team and I was assigned to recruit new members. Would you like to join?" Taura's mouth didn't pull back into a smile and her eyes widened, making her face look dull and intimidating.

"You don't have to," Taura added in, trying to add in as much as she can before the girl could speak. She hoped that Touya wasn't getting impatient since she was holding off an incoming Martial Arts Club member from signing up. "It's just that there are no current members, and the team is kind of desperate..."

Yuki Hayashi

No no, its quite all right. All you need to do is put your name on the Martial Arts Club sign up sheet. Our first meeting is today after school.

Yuki smiled at this and clapped her hands together. "Alrighty!" She rubbed both of her hands together quickly before grabbing the pen and signing her name on the sign up sheet. She noticed that there was only one female name on this sheet and exhaled. "No girls, eh?" Yuki spun towards them both.

Hello, my name is Taura Tsukino!

Yuki smiled and bowed. "Well, hello there! My name is Yuki Hayashi. It's a pleasure to meet you." Yuki smiled even wider at her request. "That's great! I was just about to go and find you! But here you are." Yuki chuckled to herself and nodded. "I would love to join. And if it would help you out, then that would be great!" She accepted a sheet from Taura and signed it quickly. "I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry! I have to go find my friend." Yuki explained. " Bye, Tsukino-san. It was great meeting you, and I look forward to being on the swim team! See you after school, Wataragani-san!" Yuki said to Touya as she ran away, waving.

Yuki smirked at herself. I know. I'm going to sneak up on Satomi-chan and scare her... But wait, that would be mean. Well, she doesn't look like she'd take it too seriously... Right? Yuki was trying to decide on whether or not she should scare her friend, she didn't even notice she quietly came near her already without even realizing it. Yuki popped right in front of Kiku smiling. "Hey, Satomi--" Then she saw her friend in tears. "H-Hey... What's wrong?" Yuki kneeled down before Kiku and grabbed onto her hands. "Are you okay?"

Akane Yamada

Akane's walk with Izanagi to the opening ceremony was a bit awkward and silent so when they finally got there, "Well, it was a pleasure meeting you." Akane quickly bowed and walked over towards the Martial Arts Club sign up sheet. She kind of just blinked at the two people standing there and signed the sheet. She took a couple steps away from the sheet and scratched the back of her head. Well, I might as well say hi or something... I guess. Akane cleared her throat, then coughed, then finally, "Uh, hey. I'm Akane Yamada. Well, I mean... If you looked on that paper, then you could see my name... 'Cause I just signed it and all..." Akane blinked and sweatdropped. Wow, Akane... SMOOTH MOVE. I'm sure you'll make tons of friends if you keep acting like a damn idiot. Akane mentally slapped herself across the face and stood there, awkwardly.

Taura Tsukino

"Bye, Tsukino-san. It was great meeting you, and I look forward to being on the swim team! See you after school, Wataragani-san!" Yuki waved as she ran away and short moments later, another girl arrived. She had brown hair that resembled Taura's.

She introduced herself quite roughly, stuttering a few of her words here and there. Taura glazed over at Touya, wondering if the girl would mind joining the swim team. If she did, Taura would finally no longer feel like a desperate captain inside.

As the girl just stood there awkwardly, Taura, with her unsmiling, expressionless face, stepped in between Touya and the girl. Not bothering to give a little look of happiness, Taura unknowingly glared at the girl with her own intense, brown eyes that also resembled the second year's.

"If you were talking about the Martial Arts Club, which you probably are," said Taura in her dull voice. "Then I suggest you also join the swim team! I'm Taura Tsukino. I'm sure Wataragani-san here wouldn't mind if I had you sign up for me before him." Taura practically forced a swim team flyer into the girl's hands.

"We meet tomorrow after school. If you happen to see Yuki Hayashi, please inform her of this also." Taura removed her glare from Akane then walked off, still not smiling.

Izanagi walked over to the Broadcasting club sign-up sheet, hanging around it to scope out who would want to part of, well. The best club ever. His eyes drifted over the masses of students in classes untold. There were plenty of students, so naturally he wouldn't know some of them. One he could remember was Taura Tsukino, a past Broadcasting club member. He found her handing out some flyers, trying to get more people to join her swim team probably.

Maybe she needed a hand. He swiftly returned to the Broadcasting Club room, and turned on all of the Equipment. He tapped the mic a few times, and slid the headphones ovre his ears. The "LIVE" light switched on as his voice drifted out of his mouth.

"For any of you who want to join the swim team, please try to find one Taura Tsukino. Come on you guys, we don't want to be known as the Fukushima Flounders!"

He got out just as quick as he had gotten in, evading any hall monitors that may or may not be there. He jogged out to check the Broadcasting Club sign out sheet, still finding it empty.

"Maybe I should have put a good word in for the broadcasting club in too."

Akane Yamada

Akane stood there awkwardly watching the tall female glaring at her. "Uh..." Akane just stood there listening to the woman practically ordered her to join the Swim Team. She just held onto the flyer and watched her walk away. Akane frowned and watched her walk away. Okay, even I know that was uncalled for! She didn't have to just shove that thing in my face! And who the hell is Yuki Hayashi?! Akane still having a frown on her face, looked in Touya's direction. "Who's Yuki Hayashi? Do you know her? Because that would be great if you did. If you know what she looks like, can you give me a description?" Akane piled a bunch of questions on top of Touya.

Yuki Hayashi

Yuki stood up, watching Kiku stand up like nothing had happened. Stubbed your toe, eh? I've used that one before... Yuki sweatdropped as she watched Kiku go on and on about Yuki's club. Yuki crossed her arms and got a serious look on her face. "Could I see your toe? I mean, you might have bruised it, or it might be swollen. So, I think you should let me look at it." Yuki smiled at Kiku and then, "Just kidding. But seriously, tell me what's wrong... Please. I'd really like it if you could trust me with your problems. If you really don't want to tell me... Then I guess I won't force you." Yuki took a step closer and held onto both of Kiku's hands. "I know we just met today, but I feel as if I could really trust you with my problems, and I hope you can trust me with yours."

Taura Tsukino

After feeling content with herself after recruiting two new members, Taura pulled her thin lips into one of her rare smiles. Suddenly, a familiar voice rang through the hallways. It was Izanagi's!

"For any of you who want to join the swim team, please try to find one Taura Tsukino. Come on you guys, we don't want to be known as the Fukushima Flounders!" announced Izanagi, causing Taura to feel even more joyful. She took her smile back, however, and her face returned into the same, tense look as she marched to the Broadcasting Club sign up sheet. There, she caught sight of Izanagi.

"Yukimura-san! Thank you so much for the announcement." said Taura dully. "Did you recruit some first years for the Broadcasting Club?" she asked.

Touya

I listened to Akane as she asked a bunch of questions. I pointed in the direction Hayashi-san had just went off in. "Hayashi-san just went that way. If you hurry you should be able to catch her." I looked over to Tsukino-san, but it seemed that she was busy. "Well, I must be off, the welcoming ceremony should be starting by now." I said to no one in paticular. As I made my way back to the courtyard I felt satisfied, three new female members for the Martial Arts Club. I also thought about the idea of entering the club in some tournaments. I'd have to mention it at today's meeting and see who was interested.

Kisa

I looked up from my book when Touya came back. "Any luck?" I asked. "Two female first years signed up. And I embarrassed myself in front of the swim team captain." Touya answered. "Why because you can't swim?" I teased. Touya glared at me, "You can't swim either." he said. It may have looked like we were fighting to any normal person, but we were just teasing each other. That's what happens when you're so close to someone. We were the only one each other could rely on after all.

While she is walking, Aya notices that Taura, who is captain of the swim team, is trying to pass out flyers and recruit new members. She is about to walk over towards her, but stops when the announcement blares over the speakers, encouraging people to sign up to join the Swim Team. The little jest of Izanagi's prompting a grin on the face of the generally cheerful young woman. Maybe that'll work, then, she muses, knowing that recruitment may be a bit hard for Taura, on account of her somewhat inexpressive face. She is a phenomenal swimmer, of course, hence being chosen to be the captain of their school's swim team, but she can be a bit lacking when it comes to charming people into joining. Last year's captain wasn't much better, but there had been a lot of seniors on the swim team, so it was okay. Now that they had all graduated, very few people remained behind.

Well, very few people being properly clarified as two. Aya and Taura are the only remaining members of the swim team from last year, and will have to do a good amount of recruiting if they wish to compete against other schools in the upcoming competitions. The auburn-haired young woman runs up to Taura and Izanagi with a bright smile, the sort of expression that is typical of the extroverted and optimistic young woman. "Have you recruited any new members yet? We need five to compete, right? I trained over the break, so I am pumped and ready to go for the next competition!" she says enthusiastically, pumping a fist into the air with an encouraging smile on her face. "I heard the message, by the way, Yukimura-san. Thanks for it."

"Do you guys know your class assignments? Taura, you're a third year, but aren't you in my year, Yukimura-san? We were in different classes last year, I suppose. Are you planning on joining the swimming team, mayhaps?" Aya asks hopefully, because she is really looking forward to competing this year. More importantly, she's curious as to who will be in her class for this year. The young woman plans on running for class Representative again this year, as she had been last year, and wants to know who she may be representing if she does get the position.

"Do any of you guys know who is in 2A?"

Image
Kei strolls up to school with a piece of toast hanging from his mouth as he listens to the animated discussion between the two friends who walk beside him. When they ask for his input, the young man shrugs and gestures towards the food, which is keeping his mouth occupied and preventing him from speaking for fear of it dropping to the ground and being completely wasted. Sympathetic to his plight, they accept this excuse and continue their heated debate. The topic? Trying to decide who the cutest girl in the school is. Their opinions are conflicting, but rather refreshing, because neither of them have chosen a popular girl as their pick. Anyway, as the trio walk up to the school, they catch a loudspeaker message about the opening ceremonies starting in five minutes. "Are we going to that? Who is speaking, anyways? Which person was head of our class last year?" one of the guys inquires, but both other fellows shrug in response, pleading ignorance.

None of the three seem particularly excited about attending an opening ceremony, because it is just the same thing every single year. Instead, they would rather hang out or perhaps even browse the clubs a little bit. Anything just a bit less boring than standing around idly. They elect to walk around idly instead, though eventually the two other guys separate from Kei in order to go and do something for some club or another that they are part of. Kei isn't really involved in any clubs, though he is considered to be part of Aya's napping club, which isn't even a legitimate club.

Left on his own, the young man sits under the shade of a tree and finishes his breakfast before looking around at the new and familiar faces, searching for someone that he can go and talk to.

Taura Tsukino

Taura cocked her head towards the side a little and noticed Kanade Aya rush towards Izanagi and her. Aya's outgoing and optimistic aura has bothered Taura ever since the two met the year before during the first swim team practice. Aya, being the only first year back then in the swim team, really impressed her, but Taura couldn't help but despise the joyful girl's attitude. An overabundance of any sort of emotion, positive or negative, was too much for Taura.

"I trained over the break, so I am pumped and ready to go for the next competition!" Taura blinked at Aya, her eyes practically peering into the second year's soul.

"To answer your question, Aya," Taura began, not bothering to call her Aya-san. Any respect that she showed towards Aya just meant more smiling from the auburn girl. "I did in fact recruit new members. Yuki Hayashi and, um, I think Akane Yamada. Both are first years..." at the last sentence, Taura couldn't help but sigh. She would have preferred recruiting some of the other third years or maybe even some of Aya's second year classmates. However, not many of the third years were brave enough to come close to Taura and she didn't know much of the second years except Aya and Izanagi.

Taura heard Aya ask something about classes. 2A was Aya's class. "I'm pretty sure Yamada-san is in your class." Taura blurted out, her eyes still glaring at Aya's. "Also, do you know anyone else that can join our team besides Yukimura-san here? Maybe a friend?"

"Yukimura-san! Thank you so much for the announcement." No need to get so excited Taura, it wasn't like you changed at all like last year. "Did you recruit some first years for the Broadcasting Club?" He couldn't really say anything, as he didn't want to lose face at this particular moment. He was wondering who else would be in class 2B with him. Hopefully he wouldn't have to make new friends in the class.

A girl walked up, apparently she already knew Taura, which was good for her. Perhaps she would join the swim team. If only he could get someone as pretty as her to join the broadcasting club. That'd be the day. He wasn't listening at all to there conversation, instead choosing to stand back to the side of the sign-up sheet. Maybe somebody else could just walk on up and give him something to work with at least.

"join our team besides Yukimura-san here? Maybe a friend?"

"I have friends too you know" Izanagi whined. That was of course a complete lie, he had just been friends with the other Broadcasting club members, and most of them had left. What a sad way for the Broadcasting club to end.

No. It wouldn't end here.

Taura Tsukino

"I have friends too you know." said Izanagi and Taura focused her intense eyes towards him. She never really got to know him that much last year so she couldn't tell for sure if Izanagi was telling the truth or not. He seemed to get along well with the past members of the Broadcasting Club, but most of them were gone now and Taura began to think that she was the only one he knew above a stranger level.

"Well please tell all your friends to join the swim team. I'm desperate at this point, Izanagi." said Taura, her eyes focusing on Izanagi's pupils. From the way she looked, Taura looked like a living statue with no smile. "I can also help you get some people to join the Broadcasting Club. Maybe a few cute girls." Taura tried an emotional wink, but failed horribly. It just looked like something had gotten into her eye and closed it to get it out.

Kaiko Ishigawa

Kaito trekked to the school building and casually started taking her shoes off like the rest of her peers but stopped midway at the announcement. I almost forgot about the welcome ceremony. With a soft sigh at this slight inconvenience, the red head slipped her shoe back on and closed her locker, making her to give the lock a little twist to make sure there was no chance for anyone else to figure out her combo. She walked back out to the courtyard to see two rather familiar faces of her upperclassmen that she recognized from the Martial Arts club from the year before. With teasing, but friendly nudges at each other the two started a sparring match. Kaiko kept a distance, but watched with amusement as the two exchanged punches. Not too long afterwards, their infamous leader joined in. Touya called a break and offered a fair match with his sister, with a nod of confirmation, the sparring match began again. After a few minutes, the group stopped, Kaiko, being rather focused on the match barely noticed the gathering crowd around her, but instead walked away when she saw them start passing out flyers for the club. She already knew she was going to join, so there was no reason to have to stay there.

Kaiko subconsciously made a beeline for the dojo, where her legs were automated to head to every day after school the year before. I guess my brain finally went into school mode again. She went around the all-too-familiar wooden building and found the signup sheets. Kaiko quickly filled it in and noticed that there were plenty others, not only those of veteran members either. Making her way back to the courtyard, she noticed a few others she recognized have shown themselves. Izanagi was familiar to her due to the broadcast club, she was interested at the club at first, but after some thought, she just didn't think making announcements was really worth it. The girl with her was also somewhat familiar to Kaiko. Wasn't she... in the swim team? Kaiko wasn't a bad swimmer, but she wasn't anywhere near the best either. She was a life guard for a year, it was a last minute decision really, having nothing else to do, she say a flyer and decided to try it.

With a few moments of hesitance, Kaiko decided to approach the pair, interested in maybe reconsidering her decisions about the two clubs from last year. Another rather familiar girl, with a head of auburn and a bubbly smile ran up to the two and immediately engaged them in conversation. Kaiko recognized Aya from the power of gossip the year before, not that she participated in those rather degrading activities, but it is kind of hard to mishear a group of girls practically shouting right beside you about something that was supposedly subtle. Once Kaiko stepped into earshot, she heard Aya mention something about the swim team, then her class. A small smirk settled on her face at the familiar class. The red head patiently waited as Taura turned back to Izanagi, before approaching the auburn haired girl.

"I happen to be in your class, Aya-san," Kaiko greeted, hoping she didn't seem to direct to the other girl. "I'm Kaiko Ishigawa," the red head introduced herself, before adding on the polite little , "Please take care of me."

Aya grins when Taura mentions having recruited two new first years for the swim team, because that means that they only need a rather small amount in order to be eligible for the school competitions. Of course, she always prefers there to be even numbers, because Aya likes to have the little individual matches that are possible when using an even number of members. She is about to say something else, but blinks, slightly startled, when Taura blurts something about one of the first years being in her class. "Erm, Taura-san? Didn't you just say that Yamada-san was a first year?" she asks carefully, not wanting to come off as rude or anything. Of course, Aya has never been the best at tact, and thus it very well may come off in that way.

"Anyway, I do know a guy who I may convince to join, but he's a third year and kinda lazy. He's a member of the napping club," Aya responds cheerfully, latching on to a change of subject. The young woman appears to be completely unfazed by the glaring eyes of Taura, having gotten used to her piercing eyes last year. She just takes it as being Taura's natural face, deciding to ignore any possibility of hostility behind the glare. She glances over curiously at Izanagi when he says something, in a bit of a whine, about also having friends. Just because she's asking me doesn't mean that it doesn't apply to you, the young woman thinks to herself, oblivious to the fact that his statement is actually something of a lie. She doesn't know him very well, after all. Just a face that she connects with the broadcasting club, and a name that she connects with a face. It isn't as though she makes it her business to know everyone, after all, though she can at least name most people in her year.

"Actually, do you know if Hiroshi-san plans on joining again this year? His little brother's in my year- maybe we can get him to join in?" Aya muses, although she doesn't know if anyone is still listening to her.

When Taura speaks to Izanagi once more, asking him to tell his friends to join the swim team and promising to do the same for broadcasting, Aya nods. "I'll try and find some people for you as well, okay, Yukimura-san?" she promises, smiling and making the little 'cross your heart' sign across her chest. Aya glances to the side when she notices someone that she knows and begins to wave, before seeing another person approaching her, a familiar face with red hair and a slight smirk. The young woman greets Aya and introduces herself as Kaiko Ishigawa, before politely asking that Aya take care of her.

"Oh, hello! I'm Kanade Aya, but you can call me Aya," the auburn haired girl responds amicably before chuckling lightly, "You already have, after all. It is nice to meet you, Ishigawa-san. I think I've seen you around before- were you in a different class last year? Oh! You should join the swim team with me- or the broadcasting club," she suggests, leaping right in to some sort of acquaintanceship.

Taura Tsukino

Taura let out a soft gasp as Aya carefully asked, "Didn't you just say that Yamada-san was a first year?"

She turned from Izanagi and frowned at Aya as the girl introduced herself to Kaiko Ishigawa, a second year. Taura couldn't stand being corrected, but could see what she just did. Blood filled the woman's cheeks as embarrassment began to creep in. Taura softly slapped herself on the right cheek and shook her head.

The auburn girl told Kaiko to join the swim team or the Broadcasting Club, Taura snapped out of her little disappointed moment and her eyes widened. Not caring about the rudeness that would probably show while interrupting the two girls' introductions, Taura placed herself into the conversation.

"Please do, Ishigawa-san. Please do." As always, Taura's eyes took on their glaring look and they began to pierce into Kaiko's. Taura took a quick glance at Aya to see if she became offended from the sudden statement then quickly turned back to Kaiko. "Well I must go." said Taura simply, and after a strong, intense push of a swim team flyer on the wall, the third year sped off to expressionlessly spread the news of the swim team's recruitment status.

Daichi Ogyu

Daichi walked out of the welcoming ceremony panting. There were so many people packed into one place that it seemed like he would drown from overpopulation. Earlier that morning, nobody seemed to want to talk to Daichi, so he had no choice but to attend the welcoming ceremony held every year, even though he has never attended a single one before in his now three years in Fukushima High.

On the way to his locker, Daichi spotted a third year girl from his class, 3B. The image of her intense eyes and chocolate-colored hair was pounded into his head. During the past two years, it was hard to not notice Taura Tsukino's piercing eyes that seemed like they were searching something inside of you while Taura would talk.

"Hello, Tsukino-san." waved Daichi, but he received no reply from his classmate and she brushed past his shoulder without saying a word. Flyers were in her hands and Daichi guessed that she was working on the swim team's recruitment. He reached his locker, retrieved the book he had placed in it earlier that morning, then walked off to search for club leaders after closing his locker. He passed by three people that Taura must have been talking too and Daichi decided to ignore them, not in the mood to really conversate. The guy in the group, Izanagi was his name, caught Daichi's attention. He recognized the guy as a Broadcast Club member from last year.

He must be the leader now, Daichi thought as he walked into another hallway. Izanagi always struck Daichi as one of the very few people who he thought was attractive, but no one could ever past Kyoya Nakazuki. Ever since his eyes had seen Kyoya, Daichi could not stop thinking about his classmate. They were both third years but in different classes. Daichi was in 3B and Kyoya was in 3A. Daichi smiled to himself as he began to daydream about Kyoya when suddenly he heard beautiful music coming from the choir practice room.

Daichi quickly peeked into the room. He saw Kyoya and a girl by a piano. Who is that girl, Daichi thought to himself as he frowned at the sight. The two began to conversate and Daichi brought his head back to the hallway.

Oh goodness, said Daichi in his head. I need to catch his attention one day. But when? he shook his head and walked off. One of these days, Daichi would get Kyoya Nakazuki's attention.

The young woman is beginning to instruct, although perhaps that is not the intended tone, Aya on how she should address her. This young woman being Ishigawa-san, although she asks that Aya call her by her first name, Kaiko, and says that she will address Aya as Aya-san, in turn. For a moment, the auburn-haired girl is more focused on the fact that Kaiko has said that she knows about Aya due to having heard about her. You see, the girl with the sunny smile has a rather strong disapproval of gossip and talking about people when they aren't around, unless it is in a positive manner. Thus, for a moment she simply falls silent, not worried about what had been said, but contemplating on whether she should be irritated that people know about her without actually knowing her. Deciding to ignore the issue for the moment, she speaks up once more.

"No need to use -san, then. It seems to formal for my given name, don't you think? You can call me Aya-chan, okay? And I'll call you Kaiko-chan," she decides on her own, though her smile lessens the remnants of authority in her voice on the matter. As it is, she prefers that people call her Aya rather than her surname, Kanade, because she doesn't really like the sound of her surname. Aya, she thinks, is shorter and has a lighter tone to it, making it far more pleasant to say and hear, even if it isn't quite as traditional or elegant. She smiles at Kaiko-chan's mention of being called Ishigawa-sama, reminiscing, though not fondly, of when classmates called her Kanade-sama. She hardly hears such a title outside of the house these days, and is rather pleased with that fact. When the young woman before her seems to consider joining the broadcasting club, Aya grins and turns towards Izanagi-san, looking rather proud of herself.

"See? Recruiting cute female members already!" she announces victoriously. "Well, I must go,"[/b] Taura informs the gaggle brusquely before simply walking off, not really appearing to wait for, or even expect, a response on the matter. All the same, Aya sticks up her hand and waves goodbye to the young woman with the piercing gaze, her smile sunny and her tone similarly friendly. "Bye, Taura-chan! I'll see you later!" she calls out to the upperclassman, before her attention returns to her classmate.

"Sure, sounds like fun. I think we've missed most of the ceremony, anyway. It's the same thing every year, I suppose, though I do like to see the top students of each year," Aya responds brightly. She chuckles lightly at Kaiko-chan's unintended example of how people tend to address her, as well as the knowing wink which accompanied it.

"Well, you don't seem very cold to me. Come on, let's go now," she suggests, stepping forward to be beside Kaiko-chan. Before the two set off, however, she twists around and waves at Izanagi-san.

"Bye, Izanagi-san. See you later!"

"Do you want to check out the clubs first, or drop our things off at the classroom?"

Taura Tsukino

Taura forced the last of her swim team flyers up onto the walls, sighing with relief when her hands were finally given freedom from holding the little papers that inflicted minor paper cuts to her fingers. She flipped her hair towards her left ear and looked at the clock hung above the doors that led to the office. Class was about to start in exactly...

Ring!

The third year woman's eyes widened as she finally realized that she had to be stuck in a long, boring class and that she had to do this almost every day of almost every week for the rest of the year. Taura grunted and marched towards her class, which was on the other side of the school. On the way, Daichi Ogyu accidentally bumped into her. He had a look of anger on his face, but Taura didn't care. You never bumped into Taura Tsukino.

He might as well have wished for his death. The glare Taura gave her fellow classmate was deadly.

Daichi Ogyu

As soon as the bell rang, Daichi removed himself from the office. A couple of second years who had somehow found a way into trouble on the first day kept Daichi trapped at the reception with the superintendent of the school; one of them claimed that he had touched their friend in the wrong place and the superintendent had the nerve to think if that really happened or not.

Finally, after a long time of arguing with the second years and superintendent, Daichi rushed out the office as soon the bell rang. He didn't see Taura in front of him and that's when it happened.

Bump!

Taura, who was much taller than Daichi, pierced his eyes. He couldn't help but feel like an invulnerable mouse forced to stand in front of a giant, hungry cat.

Daichi caught sight of Kyoya Nakazuki. He called for him, wanting to escape from his glaring classmate.

"Kyoya!" yelled Daichi, waving at him as if nothing was wrong. He smiled at Taura as he waved, but she didn't move a muscle. She just stood there, her eyes as intense as ever.
