Name
Minerva Sato, at your service.
Nickname
Please don't.
Age
20.
Gender
Take your best guess.
Sexuality
Dubious.
Role
Medic, known to dabble in xenobiology.
Bionic
Integrated computer system, with both direct neural interfacing and a holographic interface. The latter is intended to be used to show things to others, but she tends to use it herself - it's both more elegant and less headache-inducing. The system allows her to call up relevant medical data, no matter how esoteric, facilitates diagnosing, and can interface with most sickbays.
Weapon
Biting wit, on occasion.
Race
Human.
Height
Five feet, more or less exactly.
Weight
They say never to ask a woman that. But, around 150 pounds.
Eyes
Teal. Close inspection reveals augmentation.
Hair
Black, and short.
Clothing
If it's colorful and interesting, she'll probably wear it. Unless it's stupid, ugly, or demeaning. Dresses perfered, when possible, but she loves exploring places (especially old ruins) and as such is no stranger to practical attire. If given the choice, she favors form (especially odd forms) over function, but isn't the sort to object if that becomes impractical. She doesn't always wear makeup, but when she does it's usually a little strange, too.
Appearance
Minerva's appearance doesn't stand out all that much. She's fairly small, cute but not exceptionally attractive, and just not that eye-catching. She's fine with this, and wears her hair short and away from her face because it's consistent with the rest of her appearance. Of course, the whole "non-attention-grabbing appearance" thing is rather overwritten by her tendency to wear unusual clothing, and that may or may not be intentional.
Personality
Minerva prides herself on her intelligence and breadth of knowledge in medicine, biology, and psychology. Not that you'd know it at first, or likely ever, because she's far too reserved and formal to give you any impression at all, besides that she's reserved and formal. Except when she's not - when she does open up and start talking, usually but not always because a technical subject has come up, she can talk eloquently and at length and probably will. And she can act quite differently when acting as a psychologist or counselor. Her usually-reserved nature has given her a lot of chances to observe people.
And that's the best way to sum her up, really: She observes.

Family / Relationships
Not many, besides her family. She's had an unusual and tricky relationship with her parents, who are much more traditional and conservative than her (or most people). She wanted to go to space. They didn't approve, and got her to study medicine, as they had. But they hadn't quite accounted for the possibility of her stealthily studying things that would be useful to a shipboard surgeon, and later officially declaring that as her intent. It's not often that she puts her mind to something, but when she does it will happen whether or not others approve. She wanted to see the universe, and so it became inevitable, parental wishes be damned. Her odd choices of attire also started off as rebellion against them, but later became her personal style. Since then, her relationship with her family has somewhat improved back towards where it was before, but it's still rocky.
At school, she developed a surprisingly (to her) strong bond with some of her teachers, which really should make sense because when you're working as hard at something as she was, by necessity you get to know those working on it with you. Perhaps she isn't as logical about people as she is about other things, or perhaps she's just doubtful. Try asking her, if you'd like, but don't expect it to work.
She was quite fond of her cat Noctua, until he was hit by a car.
School Life
At school, Minerva didn't make friends easily - no surprises there. She knew her stuff - she couldn't have gotten in otherwise - but it was all book knowledge. And her plot to use her medical training to get on a ship had entirely consumed her life, and social skills rather fell by the wayside. She dated an upperclassman a while back for almost a year before he graduated, but otherwise, she kept to herself, as usual.
The announcement that she'd be in this project was a huge surprise to the other students, a fact which she reacted to with mild amusement and reserved politeness. She was pretty much a shoe-in for this project, far above and beyond any of her competition, and her being chosen really shouldn't have been a surprise - except for how little she talked. Secretly, she hopes that being on this ship can be a new start to her life, not governed so much by what she's still uncomfortable thinking of as shyness.
General History
Mr. and Mrs. Sato are part of a religion thought very confusing by outsiders, because it holds up certain technologies as sacred yet condemns other ones for reasons most find inscrutable. And that was the start of her break from them - why, she wanted to know, did they object to space travel so much, yet use other advanced technologies, even ones often ignored by the general public such as brain augmentation? They couldn't explain it to her satisfaction, kicking off her research into space travel and study of shipboard medicine. And that's all she'll really say. She got on the ship, and she'll patch you up. What more do you want to know?
