Holly Allen's Story

Today was the day, the day Madam Eden's Academy opened. Students were flocking in from all directions, including from the sky. Sign up sheets for clubs and activities fluttered around in the breeze. Many seemed to be gathering around a group of tables holding the class sign up sheets. The sheet read:

Roze opened the boot of the car and lugged out her large blue suitcase and purple backpack. She looked over at her family who were smiling sadly. Roze cried a single tear and went to hug her family. It wasn't her choice to go, and if she had one she wouldn't have left. She would miss her friends and school, but she knew it was safer to be with others like herself.

"I'll miss you all! I'll call and email, and I'll be back for the holidays....." she said.

Her family got back in the car, and waved to Roze as they drove away. She waved back, then walked into the school. She was amazed at all the weird people she saw. Wings, fangs, people running faster than the speed of light. She wondered what to do first. Classes seemed like a good idea, so she headed towards the sign-up sheet on a table. She signed up for her classes and grabbed her timetable.

Period 1 - Maths
Period 2 - Special Ability Training
Period 3 - Science
Period 4 - Art
Period 5 - English
Period 6 - Sport
Period 7 - Music

She then headed over to where to dorm list was, but was stopped when she saw the sign up list for clubs, and decided to join one. She signed up for choir, hoping her skills of singing in the shower were enough to get her through. She made her way over to the dorm list and looked for her name. She found it, in dorm 2. She was rooming with a girl called "Holly Allen".

She made her way up the staircase, suitcase in tow. She found her room quickly, and went inside. It was a simple but pretty room, with a nice view over the front of the school. She took the bed on the left, and began to unpack her things. She began to listen to music on her iPhone. She started singing and dancing while she unpacked. Maybe boarding school would turn out to be fun after all.

Like in horror movies, Holly stood unexpectedly right next to Roze and was looking at her with her huge shiny eyes.
"Hi, you must be my roommate Rozeanna! I know that we'll get along, you're a nice person! I can read minds. But don't worry, I won't break into your personal space.... much."

Holly's classes were like this:

"No worries, I miss my family and friends too, but we can still contact them, right?" smiled Holly.


Meanwhile Dominic Moyer was going to his room. He wasn't happy that he had to live with someone else, but those are the rules of the academy. Dominic was supposed to live with Ossilet Write and hoped that he'll reach his ridiculously high standarts, althought Moyer doubted so.

Roze almost jumped when she saw Holly. She was standing there, looking at her with huge shiny eyes.

"Hi, you must be my roommate Rozeanna! I know that we'll get along, you're a nice person! I can read minds. But don't worry, I won't break into your personal space.... much." said Holly.

A mind reader! Awesome! Hopefully she won't read my mind TOO much, thought Roze.

"No worries, I miss my family and friends too, but we can still contact them, right?" added Holly with a smile.

"Totally. By the way, you can call me Roze." said Roze, smiling. "Hey, looks like we have music together in seventh period!"

Roze looked back at her backpack, and realized it was unzipped. She searched through it to make sure nothing was missing, but realized she had dropped her favourite pencil. She told Holly she would be back in a minute, and retraced her steps back down to the grounds outside. She spotted it under the class sign up sheet table she must have dropped it when she was filling in her sheet. She ducked under the table to grab it, and put it in her pocket. She stood back up, and almost collided with a boy with bright blue eyes.

"S-sorry!" she said.

He was staring at the words on the sheets with confusion, giving Roze the idea he might not speak english well.

"Hi, I'm Roze. D-do you need any help?" she asked nervously.

"Good luck finding your pencil!" yelled Holly after Roze went out. Then the girl's mind received a message.
A while later Holly knocked on the Delgado brothers' door. She knocked so fast and with such force that it opened by itself. Yep... hyperactivity mode is on. "Hey, you must be Lucas and Sam! I'm Holly and I'm a telepath too!" She entered the room and got closer to the twins. "I'm so glad to meet people who have the same power like me! I could give you only a message, but I wanted to see you guys in person!" Holly was talking alittle lowdly and very fast.
"Hey! The telepaths!" yelled Dominic. "Your mind power business is not only useless, but is also breaking the peace here!" Then he got in his dorm.
"Your mind power business is not only useless, but is also breaking the peace here!" Holly imitated him and laughed.

"It's okay dont worry, it's nice to meet you Roze, I'm Ali I would appreciate your help...I...erm..." he looked around the room and spoke quietly "I can't really read and write..so if you could tell me what's on there it would help me out." he said giving a soft smile.

Roze was a little suprised, but she wasn't mean and didn't question it.

"Hey, it's cool. I'll help you out if you like." she said.

She figured she should help him out, and signed him up for the same classes as her. She gave him his timetable, she figured his roommate could help him read it. Roze then went to check out which dormitory he was in. He was in the boy's dorm 2, rooming with a boy called Lacrimosa Kaiten. She instructed Ali on which dorm he was in, and which way it was.

"Also, we have the same classes so don't hesitate to ask for help! I'll see you later then, Ali." said Roze, running off back to her dorm.

Hey guys my name's Sam, my brother Lucas and I are telepaths and were wondering if there was anyone like us.... So well if you are we are in dorm 3 or...just shoot us a message! Thanks! echoed a voice in the back of Roze's head.

She wasn't a telepath, but Holly was. She had probably gone to meet them. Sure enough, when Roze got back, Holly had gone. Roze decided to finish unpacking, and to wait for Holly to get back.

Marlow got out of the taxi feeling quite woozy. She had just spent way too many hours in a plane. When she got off, she could have almost kissed the ground. She was arriving a little later to the academy than she expected; she had lost her luggage, then spent 20 minutes finding a taxi driver who knew where the school was. She already missed Eva, the woman who had taken her in in Brazil. She spoke English, but she had a very strong accent. She knew it would be hard for people to place where she came from, because her accent was unique to her, Venezuelan and Brazilian. She sighed and got her tan backpack out of the car, then she grabbed her suitcase that he driver had so kindly gotten out of the trunk for her.
"Gracias, here is a tip." she smiled at him and winked back at her. He got in his car and drove away. It smelled wonderful in Tennessee. And there were mountains! She had seen them on the plane ride, when she wasn't in the bathroom getting sick. She was excited for the mountains. She looked around before finding the sign up sheet for classes.

Languages would be easy for her, at least she hoped. She was also hoping she could dance for music class. She thought of her body as her instrument. Then she saw cheer club. She was never fond of cheer leaders, but she figured she might give it a try. She signed herself up. She saw who she was roomed with, a girl named Jamie. She hoped she was nice. Marlow tucked the loose strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. Her braid was coming out, like it always did. She began to walk towards her room in time to hear a strangely dressed girl tell a boy he smelled like fire. Marlow made a face then kept walking. She was eager to see her room and was hoping Jamie was already there. She wandered through the boys hallway first by mistake. She almost went into room 4, but room three had two boys AND a girl in there. Now she didn't know if she was in the right hall. She stood at the doorway to room 3. "Perdon, " she said then cleared her throat. "Where do the girls stay?" she asked with her strong accent.

"Hi, sweetie!" Holly greeted Marlow. After that she gave her the direction to the girl's dorm. "I'm Holly, and those guys here are Samuel and Lucas, we're mindreaders and also very pleased to meet you! Don't worry, we won't break into your personal space.... much. Cherrie?" she opened a little plastic bag with cherries so Marlow could have some.

After Dominic finished reading a book, he put it back with telekinesis. Then he decided to go outside. Observing the weird people around, the guy thought to himself "A few tricks or a pair of wings and they think they're good enough to sign up here? Whatever."

"Gracias Holly!" Marlow said and smiled brightly at her. She liked this girl already. "I am Marlow. I am connected with volcanoes, lave and the earth. That is my power. I have never met a telepath before. She smiled at Lucas and Samuel. "Ohh I love cherries!" Marlow exclaimed and reached out to the bag. She grabbed a few and smiled at the three people again. She set her backpack on top of her suitcase and decided to try and make friends with these people. "I have moved from Brazil, but I was born in Venezuela, I grew up there as well. I am very excited to be here in Eden." She put a cherry in her mouth then began fiddling with her hair with her free hand. I hope someone who speaks Spanish will be here. And I hope Holly and I have classes together! Marlow thought.

"Ah!! Hablan Espanol! Muy bien, gracias, y ustedes?" Marlow grinned and shook Samuel's hand. When Lucas began playing that song, Marlow was reminded of home so much. She wanted to grab a hold of Samuel and dance with him, but she restrained herself. It was a bitter sweet feeling that she felt, but she smiled on anyway. "Si, Brazil is a country very beautiful," she nodded, agreeing with him. When Samuel winked at her and Holly, her heart fluttered. She blushed slightly, then turned her focus back to Lucas, playing the guitar, beautifully. She made her way over and sat on the bed next to him, watching his fingers pick and strum away. She always loved guitars. She couldn't help herself anymore. "Les gusta bailar?" She asked, curious if they could dance. She remembered when her Aunt first taught her the Samba.

"Hi, Roze! Do you feel like meeting friends in 3rd room in the boy's dorms?" echoed a voice in Roze's head.

She jumped. That was the second time today she had recieved a message that way. Roze was still a little shaky after making the ground shake, it had drained her energy a fair bit. She would have tried to send a message back, but she figured it probably wouldn't work. She decided to join Holly in the boy's dorm 3. She walked over, shaking her head to clear it up a bit. She found the dorm, the door was slightly open. She knocked once, then opened the door a little more. Holly was inside, along with a pretty blonde girl and a pair of twins.

"Hi, I'm Roze. Can I come in?" she asked.

Marlow hardly had to dance herself, because Sam was leading her so well. They danced the Samba very well together. She was laughing and smiling. "Samual, eres un bailarino fantastico!" she breathed as he held her closely to him. She was having so much fun. She almost stopped to see who spoke, but Sam swung her into a deep dip and was whispering in her ear. She blushed and bit her lip at the compliment. "Gracias, " was all she managed. She was flustered, having danced with such an attractive and talented boy, and slightly out of breath from the dance itself. When they stood back up straight, she almost lost her balance and held on to his forearm for support. She smiled at him then at Lucas. "Eran dos chicos muy talentosos.. Y attractivos." Marlow giggled a bit the turned her focus to the pretty girl standing in the doorway, Roze.

"Hola, I am Marlow." She said, a smile still on her face. "You must be the roommate of Holly, Roze?"

Marlow smiled and bit her lip again. She got a shiver down her spine when his lips brushed her ear, whispering into it again. She giggled at the 'latino love bug' comment from Lucas, then smiled at Samuel again. She frowned a bit when she saw her bags. She still need to unpack. She was having fun, she didn't want to leave, and plus, Roze had just gotten here. Maybe I'll just put off unpacking for a little bit longer. I'm not even sure if I remember Holly's directions.. Her thoughts trailed off as she gazed up Samuel again. His eyes are so blue, like the ocean in Venezuela. She blinked a few times then stopped staring at him putting her attention back on Roze and Lucas, who had made his way over to greet her.

Marlow blushed when he told her he could read her thoughts. She felt embarrassed because he had just said that he was a telepath. "Sure, that would be great, Samuel." She said to him. She grabbed her backpack though and slung it over her shoulders. "I can carry my backpack." She smiled at him. She walked over to Holly and kissed her on the cheek. "It is so nice to meet you! I am in room 4, please come find me later?" She smiled at her then walked to the doorway. She kissed Roze on the cheek and told her the same thing. "I hope I will see you later." She then turned to Lucas, kissing close to his cheek, but it was more of an air kiss. "Thank you for playing the beautiful song so your hermano and I could dance," She said, then looked to Samuel. Just seeing his smile made her cheeks become a soft pink color.

"Hola, I am Marlow." said the pretty blonde girl, smiling. "You must be the roommate of Holly, Roze?"

"Oh buenos dias senorita Roza" one twin said in a perfect hispanic accent.

"I'm Lucas and this is Samuel." said the other as he set his guitar down and crossed the room to greet the girl with a soft smile.

Marlow looked sorrowfully down at her bags, she didn't seem to have unpacked yet. She made up her mind and left, kissing everyone on the cheek. She kissed Roze on the cheek and told her, "I hope I will see you later."

"Yes, hopefully we have a class together! " replied Roze.

Marlow walked out with her bags, Sam close behind. Roze then returned Lucas's smile.

"Nice to meet you, Lucas." she said.

Suddenly, a tremor shook the school. Roze was thrown off her feet, and almost smashed into Lucas. She was fine, but Lucas wasn't. He had fallen on to his guitar. He asked if he and Holly were alright.

"I'm fine, Holly?" said Roze.

A taxi cab pulled up to the front of the school, letting out a single person, a boy that looked quite young even for being fourteen. He had signed up for his classes figuring he would show up later than most everyone else. His classes in order were Science, Special Ability Training, Art, Math, English, and lastly Sports. "I guess they are sticking to six simple classes for us younger students. Oh well, I'll see if I can get a 7th class added on later. Not like I couldn't handle it anyway." Jonah, this boy's name, started off towards the boy's dorms. As usual no one noticed him as he walked by them, though soon he got to the dorms and found three people there already, two females (Holly and Roze) and one male (Lucas). They all looked about two years older than himself.

Just before he was about to head over to them a tremor shook the school. Although it stole Jonah's balance for a moment he quickly regained what was lost. He then walked over to the group of three. Jonah still not being able to stop his 'No Presence' ability from being active made it nearly impossible for most to notice him until he was near them for a couple minutes unless he spoke or touched them. Once he was about two feet away from the group he finally spoke. "Hello there, I am Jonah Helmer," though he was polite Jonah had no emotion in his voice nor his actions. It was almost as if he was more of a puppet than a human. As he spoke Jonah's two creations, the nearly perfect imitations of a cat (sitting just in front of Jonah) and a swallow (landing on Jonah's only suitcase) came out of hiding. Both Jonah and his robotic companions would have seemed to appear out of thin air to most.

Jonah was put off for a second as Holly had started freaking out a bit. "Um, well, the best way I can put it is," Jonah thought for a moment before replying. "Well I suppose the easiest way is to say that I give off a short of aura that causes others to not register me being there in their brain. Although I am not exactly sure how it works myself; if I did I might be able to figure out how to stop it from always being active." Even with everything he said Jonah's voice still gave off no hint of emotion, like he was static in how he acted. The cat that came with Jonah then went over to the smashed guitar, giving it a few 'sniffs'. "Babu, even though it is damaged you shouldn't be poking around someone else's things." The cat turned to look at Jonah then spoke, "very well master, I shall leave it alone." The voice that came from the cat was clearly its own and sounded feminine, like that of an average fourteen year old girl. A cat speaking human tongue was not something that was normal. "Sorry about that, Babu's manners file has been on the fritz since we arrived here. I'll have to check out the programming later." Typically 'file' and 'program' were things reserved for machines and computers, not usually something for animals. These little details would cause most to question what this cat (and quite possibly the swallow) really was. Although anyone that could read Jonah's mind could easily figure out that these two 'animals' were actually robots made by Jonah himself.

No one answered the door, so Roze assumed they were either asleep or not there yet. Roze's stomach grumbled. She only then realized she hadn't eaten lunch that day. She found the nearest vending machine, then bought a croissant. She munched it hungrily. The last thing she had eaten were a few of Holly's cherries. Roze decided to call it a day, and made her way back to her room. Holly wasn't back yet, but Roze was too tired to wait for her. She did her evening routine, then send a good night text message to her parents. Afterwards, she turned out the light and hopped into bed.

"Good night, academy." she whispered before falling asleep.

A crash woke Roze. Holly had crashed into a table, and had fallen alongside it. She apologized and said goodnight. Roze murmured that it was ok, and fell back to sleep quickly.

The next morning, Roze woke to the sound of silence. She checked the wall clock she had placed above the door. 6:00. It was too early. Still, she managed to drag herself out of her warm bed to get ready for today's classes. She washed her face, brushed her teeth and combed her shoulder-length waves. Then, she picked out an outfit. It was a purple off the shoulder shirt, matched with her favourite pair of jeans and black converse. She then put on a little bit of mascara and some lipgloss. Roze wanted to look her best for her first day at the academy. Satisfied that she looked ok, she packed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. She quickly scribbled a note to Holly on a loose piece of paper, asking if she would like to have lunch together and stuck it on the back of the door.

Roze then set off on her journey to the cafeteria for breakfast. She eventually found her way, and went to get her breakfast. She only took a piece of toast with butter and an apple juice. Roze looked around for a seat, and seeing Jonah and some others decided to ask if she could sit with them.

"Hi Jonah, can I sit here?" she asked, then glanced at the others. "It's nice to meet you all, I'm Roze."

"So I already no about Jonah's no presence dealio. What about the rest of you guys, what are your powers?" asked Robin.

Roze was about to tell him her power when Holly came in.

"Rozy controls elements, Lacrimosa has ghosty powers and Taji controls the ice! Yaay! Oh, wait, most of you don't know me." she said happily. "My name is Holly and I read minds. Sometimes I read things that are in your brains without you thinking about them, but don't worry about this. May I join?"

"Course you can join us Holly! I'd introduce you to everyone, but in your case I don't really think thats necessary." said Roze with a laugh.
