"Do you want to spend the night? I have a guest room."

"I wouldn't mind that at all... thank you." he said, enthusiastic that he didn't have to walk all the way home to sleep. "Well, shall we go to sleep?" he said, motioning to the door, which was locked.

Hanako's eyes widened slightly. She forgot to open the door. She must've been really out of it. She quickly unlocked the door and opened it for Dalton. Once he was in, she closed it and locked it.
"The guest room is right over here." She said as they walked upstairs and she motioned to a room.
"Night." She said as she walked to her room down the hall. Today really exhausted her in the end.

"Goodnight." he said, walking over to his room for the night. He took his shirt off, and collapsed into the bed. The darkness overtook his vision faster than normal, his dreams soon followed. It was a stressful day, but a day filled with accomplishment. Not only did he meet the second Kira, he helped her find the criminals responsible for her pains and he helped her bring them to justice.

Today was a good day.

Hanako immediately changed and collapsed on her bed. She was happy with what she'd done.... Gruesome, but it was happy nonetheless . She smiled slightly and quickly fell asleep. Surprisingly, her dream was actually pleasant. For once, she didn't have to live in fear again. They were all finally dead.

Regretfully, his dreams were the same as most any other nights. His dream wasn't a dream, it was a nightmare. One he'd relived countless times over with no break in sight. This painful nightmare was actually a memory. The memory being of that horrid night where he witnessed his friend's death before him. The night where he held his friend as his last breath drew nearer. The evening where he knew that this world was corrupt and needed a cleansing.

And just like all those other restless nights, he teared up. Even though he had seen it a hundred times before; he cried. It wasn't something he could prevent, for even a king will cry at the loss of something. Even a god among man will fall, it was enevitable. His body would occasionally lash out, him reliving the blow from the gun he recieved that prevented him from following the man. He even relived the gunshot, though it hit his friend, not him.

Suddenly, Hanako's dream seemed to change. Instead of it being pleasent it seemed to change as blood seemed to fill the dream. Immediately, she felt like vomiting and then she felt the pain again of her scar again. It always seemed to do this whenever her emmotions went out of control. She quickly tried to shake it off but she knew it would happen throughout the night. She would just have to live through it.

Dalton's last piece of nightmare was the bullet entering Gabe's chest. His body fell back, nearly lifeless already. His friend looked up, the light just barely still in his eyes before he muttered something. Of course, he only let his last breath escape his lips, not any words. With his final exhale, he left this world and Dalton behind, to who knows where. Dalton, after this incident, refused to believe there was a god who just let these kinds of tradgedies happen. If anything, there was a devil, not a god. He'd have to take up the mantle of "God" . It was the end of his friend and the beginning of his change. A change into a higher being than just a 'human', as humans were tainted, corrupted, evil....

Hanako quickly woke up. Still scared from her nightmare. She quickly got out of bed and decided just to pace for a tiny bit. Pacing always seemed to calm her down. After awhile, she looked out the window to see it was already morning. Deciding it was too much effort to go back to sleep, she went downstairs to cook breakfast.

Dalton awoke after his nightmare, though for a while he only saw darkness. It didn't bother him anymore, seeing as he'd gotten over it quite a while ago. Without further delay, he got up out of his resting place (without putting his shirt back on) and decided to wander around until he found the bathroom. After doing what needed to be done, he promptly washed his hands and left said room, headed to what appeared to be the living room. He wasn't sure if Hanako had awoken yet, so he took a seat on a couch and let his head fall back into the seat, not falling asleep but closing his eyes.

Hanako quickly finished making eggs and bacon. Hoping Dalton would like this, she quickly set the table and got out the ketchup for the table. Getting out plates and silverware, she quickly decided to check if Dalton was awake. She went to the livingroom to go upstairs but saw him on the couch already. Noticing she was still in her night dress, she dashed up the stairs embarressed and ran into her room.

"Idiot, idiot, idiot. Remember when you have someone over to change first"

Dalton wasn't completely awake as he heard a noise swiftly fly through the living room. He could only assume it was Hanako, probably racing with pumas or something. Well, that might just be his overactive imagination, as he tended to dream a lot more after he wakes up. Pushing his immature thoughts out of his head, he looked forward, Hanako wasn't there obviously, though he looked as if he expected her to be. A quick glance around the room told him he wasn't being watched by her, which he'd be thankful for, as that'd be somewhat creepy. Though, even thinking about that was probably his imagination sneaking its way back into his thoughts. He finally just decided to lay his head back and close his eyes once more.

Hanako quickly changed and walked back downstairs, her face still slightly red.

"I made eggs and bacon if you want some." She quietly said, unsure if he was awake or not. She didn't want to disturb him if he was asleep though.

Dalton was snapped out of his dazed state by a beautiful voice, which belonged to none other than Hanako. He had to admit, her voice wasn't annoying like most Japanese girls tend to have (In his opinion). It was probably just his preference to an American accent to a Japanese one. Or, maybe it was his inner racist sneaking out just a bit, who knows? Regardless, with the angelic voice came a message from the heavens. Eggs and Baccy. If there was anything that could counter the mini-depressions he had in the morning from his nightmare, it was eggs and baccy.

His head snapped forward, and his eyes bolted open. "I would love some eggs and bacon, Hanako." he said calmly, though on the inside he was nearly jumping. If it wasn't clear; he loves eggs and bacon. For some reason, he noticed a tinge of embarrassment on Hanako's face, though he couldn't determine why. He was oblivious to the fact that she had just ran past him in her night gown, but he was moreso oblivious to his missing attire, which layed on the floor in the room he slept in.

She smiled as she walked to the kitchen and sat down at the table. She already put some on both plates.

"Theres more in the pan if you want seconds." She said happily.

"What would you like to dri-" She stopped halfway in the middle of her sentence when she noticed something missing from Dalton. His shirt to be exact. She blushed slightly and looked down at her food.

"Want anything to drink?" She asked quickly, finishing her sentence

After a brief walk to the table, he was greeted by the holiests of sights: A well done breakfast. The sight was one to behold (he loves eggs). He could even swear he heard an angelic chorus, but yet again, his imagination did wierd things in the morning. He was told that if he wanted seconds, there was some. This was like a birthday wish come true, right up there with complete justice for the world, but he'd be the one to gift himself with that, with the help of the beauty before him, of course.

Speaking of said female, she appeared to be blushing, and she cut herself off mid-sentence when she was asking him what he wanted in terms of a beverage. He would settle for anything really, but he obviously had to make a choice when he remembered the breakfast before him. "Orange juice, if you have any. If not, I'll settle for water or milk." he said politely while eyeballing the eggs with a fierce look.

It would be an understatement if one were to say he wanted to devour those eggs. No, he wanted to massacre them with his teeth and shove them into a not-so-eternal prison in his stomach. This of course was brought on by the countless days where he'd only been eating cereal every morning. His mind finally snapped from the eggs and back to Hanako, who seemed to still be blushing. His mind began wandering around, wondering why she would be blushing.

Hanako quickly grabbed the Orange Juice out of the fridge and poured them both a glass and set one down infront of Dalton and the other by her plate. Once done, she quickly screwed the cap back on and put the Orange Juice back in the fridge. Slightly looking at Dalton and seeing he still didn't understand what he was missing, she decided to just concentrate on eating for now. She quickly grabbed her fork and took a quick bite of the eggs before deciding she needed ketchup. Hanako grabbed the ketchup and squeezed some of it on her plate before re-capping it and putting it down again.

The whole time Hanako had been setting herself up for a feast, Dalton's mind had been running free with wild imaginations of why she was blushing. The main of which being that she had something wrong with her. Maybe she was sick? If so, she didn't want to speak about it, but why? Another question he couldn't really answer. What could make her sick enough to where she didn't want to reveal it? Maybe she was terminal and didn't want to worry him? Maybe she was contagious? No, she wouldn't do that, would she? This hypothesis was quickly thrown out the window, as it started to seem less and less likely by the minute. "Stupid imagination..." he mumbled under his breath. He knew it was just him, but he couldn't help it.

Then, his mind kicked into high gear, or rather, his imagination did. Since blushing is usually accompanied by embarrassment, Hanako was obviously embarrassed. But why? he asked himself again, getting the same exact answer. Maybe..... Maybe.... He couldn't think for a minute, but then found his thoughts.

Maybe she wanted to marry him?! He had heard about people who entrap men into marriages by making themselves pregnant by poking holes in condoms or faking the pill, but that couldn't be possible, they didn't engage in any naughty affairs, that he remembered.... unless she drugged him. No, she couldn't have, she's too nice, isn't she? But that's how the women on T.V acted BEFORE they showed their true skins.... "Oh god." he mumbled yet again. His mind took a turn for the worst as he convinced himself that she had possibly raped him and was trying to bear his child. Dalton started fidgeting, wondering what he could do. All the signs were there: She was extremely nice, she made him breakfast and she was blushing (Possibly because she was embarrassed) He gave her a fearful look for just a second before replacing it with his normal face. He'd have to keep up a facade until he found out a plan......

"What did you say?" Hanako answered to his mumble. She was suprised he was this quiet, besides the mumbling. She looked up slightly at him but quickly back down to her food. She couldn't look up without blushing. It didn't seem that he noticed either. If this went on the whole day, she'd surely die. (she over reacts XD) She started to look around, making sure she didn't make eye contact with Dalton in fear of making herself blush even more. She started eating more of the eggs, trying to cover up her embaressment.

The avoidment of eye contact only reinforced Dalton's theory. She must've done something if she were embarrassed like that. He started freaking out inside. "If she wanted a date, all she need to do was ask!" he said mentally. "She didn't have to go do something so drastic!" another sentence bursted out in his mind.

Althewhile this was going one, he was still eating his eggs. Nothing would really stop that. If he were to be forced into parenthood, he'd at least get some eggs out of it. The tension in his mind was building until finally, it reached its boiling point. He had to hear her admit it. So, he came right out with the question. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice calmed but his mind frantic.

Hanako looked at him and blushed even more until she looked down.

"Y-.... You forgot to put your shirt back on..." She mumbled, embaressed she couldn't handle this situation. Couldn't those "Norrmal" Girls handle that? Why was she so different? She quickly looked away again as her blushing got worse. She also was embarressed about being in her night gown earlier. She didn't see if his eyes were open or not and she ran right in front of the couch. That's what she got for putting the couch against a wall.

"D-... did you see anything when you were laying on the couch?" She asked, her voice a bit shaky.

He looked down at himself. A facepalm occured directly after, and not a mental one either. He'd have to punch himself later for freaking out like that. Of course, he was used to mornings without his shirt, so he couldn't blame himself. It'd be a lot worse had he slept normally, like he did at home. At home, he preferred to sleep in the nude, and he could tell that wouldn't be the best way for Hanako to wake up and see him, especially with a certain rush of blood to a certain part of his body which occured every morning. That would've been disasterous.

At the current moment, he wasn't able to just stand up and go get his shirt, but he'd not freak out now that he knew the cause for Hanako's red face. She asked him a question, one he didn't have a clue as to why it was asked. "I saw.... my eyelids...?" he wasn't even sure how that question was even brought up.

Hanako breathed a quick sigh of relief. Thank god that he didn't see anything.

"O-oh, okay." She said happily, not really wanting to go into detail. She would if she had to clear anything up, but only if he asked. She quickly started on the bacon which was her favorite part if the meal.

"Why do you ask?" he queried. Noticing her start on her bacon, he mimicked her and began on his. He was saving it for last, and remembering the rules of bacon. More importantly the first, which was that there is not a meal on earth that doesn't go good with bacon. He hadn't found that rule to be broken, ever.

Hanako blushed as he asked her the question and quickly finished her first slice of bacon so she could think of what she was going to say.

"Er- uhh.... well.... I came down to make breakfast and I was just about to call you in here.... when I noticed I was still in my night gown...." She finished the last part quickly, Her face beet red. She couldn't believe she made a simple mistake like that. She wasn't used to changing that quickly. She'd have to remember if there was ever a next time.

"Well, I'm sorry I had my eyes closed." he flirted. She did have a pretty nice figure in his opinion, and a nice face. Hell, a nice personality as well. A perfect example of perfect. He looked at her, and grinned. "I think it's unfair that I have no shirt on, but you do." he gave a light chuckle. "I'm kidding of course, I'm not that kind of person." he assured, taking a piece of bacon and devoring it.

Hanako didn't believe her face could go even more red but in a couple of seconds, she was proven wrong and almost choked on her next peice of bacon. She quickly drank it down with some orange juice as she looked back up slightly.

"O-oh..." She said, shakily. She didn't think she'd ever be ready for someone to see her scar or what other scars she had under her clothes. She bought certain clothes so they were all covered perfectly. She started messing with her shirt edge again. She always seemed to do that when she was really embaressed.

"Anyways.... don't take me too seriously right now, my head has a tendancy to freak out in the morning. You don't even know what I was coming up with while trying to figure out why you were blushing." he admitted with a sheepish chuckle. "Though to me, you seem a little to shy, as if you're self concious. You shouldn't be, as you are beautiful. This is coming from a guy, not a girl, so don't worry about a lie." he told her, in hopes of her being a bit more open. Seclusion wasn't the best thing for a person's mental health, or so he heard.

She looked up suddenly, her eyes a bit wide.

'How could he tell I was self consious....?' She thought to herself. She always thought she hid it perfectly. When locking eyes with him, she looked away again. She wanted to believe it but it was sorta hard for her. She found herself looking down at her bacon again. She didn't really know what to say. She had to grow up with these scars and always hid them to, hopefully, give her as normal of a life as she could get. She never really had a normal life though. Her friends never let her forget the year she was gone. Neither did anyone she met. Being published in the paper seemed to make it impossible to have a normal life.

"I must admit, Hanako.... I can read you like a book, more or less...." he sighed. "I'm skilled at reading a person's emotions and intents through their facial muscles. Even if you've got a blank expression down, there are always a few muscles that'll give you away. That being said, I read you like a book without glasses, per say. I could tell your mixed emotions, swirling through your mind, and they all surfaced where else but your face? It's become a bit easier to see you after you brought those men to a righteous justice, meaning you're that much better. I feel that if you keep doing things that'll improve your health, such as getting simple wants out of the way and taking care of yourself like that, you'll feel a whole ton better. So, as someone who wants to help you so that you may help me help the world, I ask: What is it that you want?"

Hanako immedietly looked up as he started talking. She couldn't believe she was that easy to read. The simple question of what she wanted was something that was very hard for Hanako. She wasn't one to think of this often. Especially after her 10th birthday. There were a couple things she wanted but none was obtainable. A feeling of safety was never fully obtainable to her after that. Even feeling normal was hard for her.

"...I don't know...." she said after awhile.

"Then you'll just have to find out." he replied, as if it were that easy, but he knew better. "Somewhere along the way, you'll find your biggest want out of life. Your greatest aspiration. When that happens, tell me. I'll assist you in anyway I can." he replied, his words not showing a hint of falseness or doubt. "I mean, you're helping me with mine, it's only fair. Don't be afraid to ask anything of me, I'll be there to help you as you're helping me."

"The thing is, I'm helping you because I believe that is something I want too.... I think that everyone who is like those people I killed yesterday should die...." She said, somewhat quietly at the end. She didn't get over all the blood there yet. She was still a bit afraid of the blood. She thought for awhile as her thoughts went back to what she truely wanted... but she knew it was impossible.

"If that is your true want, your true purpose in life, you should be the true Kira, not I. For I want this world to be rid of injustice and crime, but I know I want something else much more, though I regret to say that I'm not sure what that is just yet. That being said, don't lose faith in me. For in my hands, the means but in my heart, the will rests. I will accomplish this feat but I hope to find my greater want sometime in the future." he took a deep breath, reflecting on his thoughts, what he said and how it was all advice he had learned from a past generation. "But enough about that stuff, we are young adults are we not? Fun and avoidence of boredom is fine for me at the moment." a warm smile found its way onto his face.

Hanako smiled back at him. "Sadly, it actually may not be my true want.... It's just a want.... I'm not entirely sure just yet if my real want is obtainable right now..." She said, already starting to think if it was or not... There could be a slight chance that it would be, but there was too much of what went against it to even have it OBTAINABLE

"I thought as much...." he said, pondering what to do next. He looked down at his plate, which was now empty. As tempting as it was, he found himself unhungry, and opted against seconds. "Okay, so what now, my 'Queen'." he said, taking a bow, though it might've looked awkward from his position. Regardless, he didn't care.

Hanako quickly resisted the urge to laugh as he tried to bow in his chair. It was odd and funny looking but she didn't feel like pointing it out.
"Hmm... I don't know. What do you want to do?" She asked. She was never one to decide what she wanted to do when she was with other people. She always liked what they wanted to do instead.

"Hmm...." he placed his chin in his hand as he thought. Suddenly, a lightbulb appeared over his head; he had an idea. "Let's watch the news for someone to bring to justice. Then from there, we can I guess hang out unless you've got somewhere you need to be?" he wasn't sure what her plans were, as he had only known her for a day... a really eventful day.

Hanako thought for awhile.
"I can but only until noonish.... College starts soon and I have to get supplies for my classes..." She said, somewhat depressed. She never liked summer vacation ending. It always put her in a semi-depressed state.
'And to think, I just got the best thing in the world and it's ruined by school time.' She thought silently to herself about the Death Note.

He sat down on the couch, flipping on the television. "It's not what normal boys and girls do when hanging around, but I think helping this world one criminal at a time is good for now." he commented as he payed only half attention to the tv. He was more focused on Hanako, who struck him as a beauty when he focused more on her and not on talking to her. However, he shook his stare from her before he ended up looking like a creep and turned towards the tv.

"What are you trying to grow up to be?" he asked, trying to pass the time.

"It's not what normal boys and girls do when hanging around, but I think helping this world one criminal at a time is good for now." he commented

"I agree." She responded. It seemed she always agreed with him. It was a nice change.

"What are you trying to grow up to be?" he asked, trying to pass the time.

Hanako quickly started messing with her shirt again. She knew what she wanted to be but she also knew what her parents where making her be.
"A-a Lawyer...." She said, somewhat quietly. She never liked the idea of being in court, even for a tiny bit. She also git extremely panicked about hand cuffs so she didn't know how her parents expected her to do this.
'Maybe I'll get over that fear...' She thought to herself. It would be a miracle if she actually could.
