GENERAL APPEARANCE
- What usually stands out with Keahi is her hair. Bright, eye catching red. Lovely and long. You might think that the girl loves running her fingers through it, but it's driving her crazy. Being a mutant, her hair will forever stay the same length. It will never grown out more and it will never be shorter. Keahi has tried to cut it, but seconds later her hair will reach the same length it always has. So yeah, her hair is driving her mad. It's always in the way; in her mouth, blocking her vision, getting caught everywhere, so she often puts her hair up in one or two high buns so that EVERYTHING is out of her way. Otherwise she dresses quite casually, big tee-shirts and skirts are her favorite, she's also a big fan of not wearing any shoes, but when she has to she wears something comfortable. In other words, everything about Keahi's fashion habits scream: comfy and pragmatic.
Another fun fact about her hair is that, at night, it glows a deep pink color. this is also kind of irritating for Keahi because the light can bother her when trying to fall asleep.

PERSONALITY
- Quiet | Honest | Kind
Keahi is a bit of a timid girl. She doesn't talk much and some even think that she is mute, but when she does talk, well... let's just say people prefer when she doesn't. She's a very introverted person mainly so she can observe her surroundings and get a good sens of it all. Keahi finally comes to speak when she feels there is something she must say and often times it's very honest words that can be hurtful or destabilizing. The way she is very honest and forward kind of breaks her whole cute little girl image. Nonetheless, the little red-head can be quite bitter without truly intending to be a bi***. This kind of crude character of hers has of course rendered the possibility of friendships to be very rare, but she has not change for so much since she believe that honesty is key.
Aside from her blunt forwardness, Keahi can be very kind in her actions. She will help elderly people, smile at strangers or offer help, but only when she feels people are deserving. She's a good person, but not easily trusting, though she does believe that if good things are done for people then they in their turn might just do something good too. Basically, she's a simple girl who has hope.
LIKES
- || Taking Long Walks || She likes how when she walks she slowly forgets about everything bothering her and somehow her feet always lead her to somewhere beautiful.
|| Salted Vinegar Chips || The taste is just so enchanting! She can eat a whole bag of them in just a couple of minutes.
|| Painting || The walls of her room are covered with paintings and drawings, many of which overlap each other. She laways has she sketch book with her as well.
DISLIKES
- || Crowded Places || Keahi can get really grumpy in crowded places. She's not agoraphobic or anything it's just that having too many people around brings Keahi's beastly side out.
|| Hot Days || She can't stand the heat. When it is too hot outside she's all sweaty, her irritating hair is sticking to her neck arms, it's just annoying and disgusting.
|| Manipulators || Keahi is good at reading people and that gives her the gift of seeing who is being truly nice and who is just trying to get something out of you. She hates those who use people.
TALENTS
- || Painting || It's probably the only thing she's actually really good at.
|| Hair Styling || With hair as long as hers, you pick up a few tricks.
FLAWS
- || Confidence || She's all quiet and cute on the outside, but when she opens her mouth she's cocky and brutally honest.
|| Cold || She doesn't really let anyone in. She's often impolite and doesn't give people a chance.
FEARS
- || Solitude || Though she's almost at that point, if she were to lose her parents and her very dear friend she would truly be alone and that scares her the most, because she knows that they are the only people who can stand her, and understand her.
|| Darkness || It's a bit ridiculous since Keahi's hair always glow, but once she woke up and couldn't see. Apparently it was something normal that happens; the brain is still partially asleep sometimes upon awakening so a part of the body can be asleep. In Keahi' case, she was momentarity blind and that scare the living daylights out of her. Literally.

FAMILY
- Shaun Derks | 38 | Father | Alive
Cecilia Derks | 34 | Mother | Alive
BIO
- Keahi was a bit of a strange birth. Her mother went through it normally, but Keahi was born with her long red hair which made her quite peculiar. That was when they knew she was a mutant. In Keahi's first five years of growing up her parents never made her feel that she was different. they loved her so much that they didn't care about her hair. It was just hair and plus it gave good training for the years to come of grooming the forever Rapunzel girl. Then when she turned five she went through the infamous mutant check up. She went through things in the facility that she keeps in the deepest parts of her mind to never be reminded of again. She never spoke of any of it to her parents. It wasn't like they tortured her, but being taken away from a loving family for a whole year and be confronted to such heartless and careless people like those in the facility changed her. And the test she remembered the most was when they cut her hair. Over and over and over and over again. They took so many samples of it and seemed so fascinated by how it would grow instantly if cut but keep the same length that Keahi no longer felt like a human. She would sit quietly as they mumbled about scientific explanations that meant nothing to her.
When she came back home her parents noticed that she wasn't a radiant as before, but they did everything to make her feel at home again. They cared for her as best they could, gave her all their love but never coddled her. Of course they were worried about what had happened in that factory for a whole year, but they were her parents and they had to be strong. Though her mother smiled and laughed all day, Keahi knew that she would cry at night while her father held her in his arms. Keahi knew that she wasn't the only one who suffered during that one year.
But that didn't stop the fact that Keahi became a quiet girl who always seemed in a bad mood once someone talked to her. Her attitude didn't make her social life much easier either. She seemed to make people more reticent towards her than open to getting to know her. It worried her parents but they could still see that their daughter was kind. She would help them set the table, she would lend her school notes to classmates and never expected anything in return. So of course Keahi's loneliness didn't last forever. No matter how cold and inappreciable Keahi could be, she found a friend. A very extroverted girl would took nothing personally and so was impervious to whatever Keahi had to say that could be hurtful. She would always take whatever critique the red-head gave as a way of bettering herself. That kind of surprised Keahi because she never did intend on being vexing, and seeing that someone understood her was relieving.
All together, Keahi is a pretty regular girl who's a bit dark and cold, but not a freak. Just another person living on Castle Rock.
