A few second years had been mixing with the first years, and spreading rumors like wildfire. They claimed that the first years would be subjected to near-fatal mind attacks,
or punished if they so much as thought anything negative about the facility. The class was on the verge of hysteria when the door of the main building swung open, and a figure stepped out.
The instructor had arrived...there was no turning back now, they would have to deal with whatever was thrown at them.
The person who stepped out into the sunlight was distinctive, and quite unmistakable.
She was a tall, slender woman, dressed in a black jacket and dark turtleneck top. A silver APD badge was pinned to her chest. Although she could not have been older than her mid twenties, her hair was a silvery-grey, cut into a neat bob that ended a little below her jaw.
Most noticeable about the woman were the eyes. They were an unnatural pale green hue, the pupils contracted into vertical, cat-like slits. There was a rather frightening intensity in her gaze, something that left many students unable to make eye contact with her for long, and gained her the nickname 'Evileye' among the trainees.
Her name was Saeth Penn, and she was one of the most successful APD operatives to date, responsible for apprehending an entire gang of bank robbers by leaving them convinced they were glasses of orange juice. Indeed she had a great deal of experience to share...but that was if the students were able to withstand the teaching. The life of a psychic wasn't for everybody...and she intended to drop them in at the deep end.
"Alright students, gather round." she stated.

"To be honest, I don't care if you take her. When she first came in, she was a little demon, I know she is better now, but Im not sure if I can fully trust her. You can take for the hell I care. She is in room 102."
Two men, tall walk into her room as a cute and small girl sits on the bed. She looks up at them, her brown hair pulled back into a messy bun, wearing a white gown.
"Hello miss. We have been notified that you are very speacail and our ccompany would like for you to join us. Our first meeting with everybody will be in two weeks." The two me smile at the girl. She looks at them and smiles. "I would love to join... but if you don't mind, could you tell me a little about this?"
"Yes, of coarse. You see, you have a speacail power to use with your mind and we would think that you could help us out here with your powers. Basicly, your going into ttraing and such to see how much controll we can get out of your power. All you have to do is sign here and your done." They smiled.
She got up and read the paper and signed it. "Ok. Thankyou!"
Thats is what she remebered. She never thought that it would be this big. She looked around. "Wow.." She said looking at the trees and such. "Pretty." She focused her sight back onto the girl.

In the window, Mrs. Penn had begun her lesson. She had always had a decent relationship with Mrs. Penn, she wasn't a friend or anything, she was a teacher. However, she was the closest teacher to Illiana. This didn't mean much, though, considering that she wasn't much close to anyone. Illiana sighed as she watched the class go, they looked restless, she wasn't quite sure why. Then again, it was their first day and Mrs. Penn's eye always seemed to be an unsettling factor for newbies. Just then, a red head ran into the class, late. Snickering, she wondered how severely Mrs. Penn would react to this tardiness. She found this "people watching" or so have it the closest thing she had to social contact. It seemed to be the closest thing she wanted to social contact.

Ooopss.... She made the dress land gently on top of her bed like it was laid gracefully by an invisible hand as the rest were quickly shoved inside her dresser by and invisible force.
Philippa knew first days were always extra special. She loves to see the frightful looks on the new recruits, she considered it pay back for feeling scared during her 1st year in APD. Phil never knew she was special until that faithful day during a football finals in their school. She was assaulted which made her loose control that she sent a whole empty bench flying towards the girl who purposely tripped her. She found it funny when she saw that it scared the shit out of everybody but not when it became the niche that change her life.
As she got into the dress, her head popped out and she smoothened the fabric to her skin. She grabbed her brush and fixed her golden locks as she made her bag fly within her reach. She smiled at her reflection and walked out towards the training area. But the aroma of great coffee stopped her on her tracks and made her turn back to grab two cups. Saeth might be in the mood for one, who knows.
With two steaming cups, she walked over to int to ment-land and saw Iliana peeking, "Hey, Saeth already in there?"
Her golden hair got in the way but she managed to peek as well, she decided to tease Saeth and slowly opened a crack on the training room door and sent the other cup of coffee floating towards her table and next to her things. When it landed safely on top, she made the pen move and wrote a small note for her that says,
Then she turned to Ana and whispered, "Wanna grab breakfast? I'm ditching first period" She giggled.
It was the first time she invited Iliana and wondered if the girl would say yes, people around her says she likes to be alone. And Phil can get a little nossy and loud at times.

His opponent was panting and sweating. Even though Ray was not using his earphones, he was stronger now, he was slowly overpowering him.
While occasionally other people around them snapped out of their slumber-like state, Ray and his classmate were still battling like about half the rest of the class. The teacher was watching them attentively, ready to step in if anything went out of control.
Eventually Ray opened his eyes. He was exhausted from the mind battle, but not as much as his classmate, which was lying on the ground with some foam coming out of his mouth. The teacher walked over without a word, and put her hand on the boy's head.
"He'll be okay, but you should still watch out, Ray. You almost damaged his mind irreversably!"
"It was not my fault. He was refusing to surrender even though I was obviously winning."
The teacher sighed. "Fine then. But don't forget that you're slightly stronger than an average second-class trainee. And I know that you cheated, you have listened to the trees outside to focus."
"Everyone can do that."
"But not everyone can do what you can." She made a short hand movement to show him that he should go.
Without any bad conscience Ray sat down on his chair again after carryng it over to his table. The people that had seen what had happened to their comrade were watching him scared, or in disgust, but he ignored them. Again: it had not been his fault.

Just then, Philippa asked if she wanted to go to breakfast with her. This, did come as a surprise. Illiana sat for a moment, not quite sure what to do. Philippa wasn't exactly the kind of person she would normally hang out with, that is, if she hung out with people. She was happy, a lot, and sort of looked like phycic powers barbie, not exactly Illiana's cup of tea. The only thing Illiana could think of was the inevitable silence they would have at the table, having absolutely nothing to talk about. A knot began to form in Illiana's throat. However, the last thing she wanted was to be rude, after all, she would undoubtedly have her in future classes. With more reservations than she was quite comfortable with, Illiana uttered a mumbled, "Sure, what do you want to eat?".
Illiana felt awkward, and she wasn't sure if it was Philippa or just social interaction in general, but she felt awkward. She tried not to make eye contact with her, scanning the nearby surroundings for focuses that could keep her distracted. She found another window. Thank God for courtyard classrooms she thought, noticing a boy sitting alone in the back of a classroom. The window was far, but the face was unmistakable. She had been partnered with Ray for several exercises, seeing as each pair needed both a kenetic and a path and they seemed to match skill levels, despite him being a year below. She starred for a bit, trying to make out what was happening in the room before remembering Philippa and quickly snapped back. This time, she dared to make eye contact.

She pulled out a small key card attached to her necklace. It was the size of a 2x2 ID picture. She winked at Illiana as if they were sharing a secret. Well it is a secret she had been keeping for a few years already. And no matter how hard Saeth got mad at her, she never found out how Philippa managed and kept on sneaking out for shopping or manicure.
She noticed Illiana stared at one guy who was sitting at the back of another class of Saeth's. Phil recognized him as one of the Path guys. It amused her on how intent the quiet girl stared at him. Then she looked like she jumped out of a trance and stared at Phil's eyes.
"So? My stomach is getting furious with me already. Are you in?" She waved the key card like she was tempting her.
Phil slipped her earphones on and played her iPod while waiting for Illiana to make up her mind.

Without really noticing he looked out the window, to the tree that he had before used to enhance his power. It had been a dirty trick, he knew it, but if he was able to take advantage of what made others lose their focus he did not understand why he should not use it.
He saw Illiana just as she turned her look away, then Philippa, and smiled. Both were in the third grade, but he was on par with Illiana's powers if abusing noises like a tree, so he had had her as a partner a few times. He did not try to wink though, she would not have noticed, instead he looked into the classroom again, still a smile on his face.
he could not wait to be third grade, they had much more free time than first and second grades, and more challenging classes. His teachers simply refused to put him to third grade straight away, telling him that "it would be unfair", and that "he still had too much to learn". Blablabla. What the real reason was, he did not know, but if they would not tell him, there was no point in asking.

APD was hidden, of course. But it camouflaged it's self with a busy town on the foot of the Fawkeswood Mountains were they are conveniently hidden. Fawkeswood Town was almost an hour fast walking from their base but with their ability it was like around 20 minutes of free floating if you are a kinetic.
One of the great things about being kinetic like Phil and Illiana is that they can turn any piece of sturdy wood into a flying machine. Sounds weird and it tends to make them look like a witch from an old movie but it became very convenient for a lot of them.
Phil lead the way out to the side secret emergency exit that no one rarely bother to notice since it was hidden behind poison ivy and thick vines as she finally found the very hidden, barely-there, really small key card slot. She swiped her pass and it soon they were on the other side of the thick secured wall. "Not many knows that trick and I wish you can keep that a secret," She winked and dusted off the leaves and vines that got tangled in her hair and clothes.
She walked a little over a small cave like structure just a few feet from the door the emerged from and grabbed two thick planks of wood and uttered, "This my dear serves as our ride."
Both of the planks suddenly rose in mid air by an invisible force. "Hop in. I'm controlling since you're not that familiar with the path yet," Phil hopped on the other plank and waited for Illiana to do the same.
"Come on, I am really really hungry," Phil swayed her feet like everything was just a game.

“So where are we going, anyway? Not that I know too many places outside the APD anyway.” she felt sheltered, as if APD had become her everything, and it had. She didn’t seem to mind it too much though, after all, it had essentially saved her. It pulled her out of a bad situation, gave her a place to stay, training for control, and practically anything she wanted. Not that she wanted much.
OOC: Sorry, I was just waiting to see if someone else was going to post. But they arn't. So I am just going to post without them. XD

"I am more of a waffle person myself," Illiana mentioned.
"Good choice," Phil smirked and made the planks float higher than ever.
She let the two floating wood follow her mind as the tracked the woods and avoided branches that can seriously hurt them. But since Phil had the path memorized already. Slowly their pace increased.
“So where are we going, anyway? Not that I know too many places outside the APD anyway.” The girl suddenly asked her.
"Just the small town below these freaky mountains. Of course, they don't know APD exist. They are too scared of the "ghosts" that inhabits the mountain," She connoted the words ghosts. People of Fawkeswood firmly believes that the mountain is haunted because the Kinetics are on their field research of controlling things with their mind. Normal people thought it was the works of a ghost.
"Oh and by the way, don't get offended. You deserve a makeover. I love this small vintage shop in the outskirts of the town you might like some of their pieces. So what do you think?" Phil uttered bluntly. Illiana looks pretty but she personally thinks she'd look nicer if her hair is out of her face.

The bell rang, letting everyone know that for today, class was over. Sighing in relief Ray stood up and left the class, as the last people returned to their bodies, stopping the mind war. Luckily the bell could be heard by them even if they were so far away with their thoughts...
With a last look over his shoulder, he went out, smiling. Now there was plenty of time for him to do whatever he wanted. He grabbed the earphones in his pocket, puled them through the inside of his shirt and put them into his ears while activating the player with his mind, to listen to some music.
Yawning he sat against a tree that was a bit away from the path, and closed his eyes to let his mind drift away. He was not using any psychic power, but instead he was simply letting his mind float out of his body. He would know if someone approached him, in this state it was a bit like he was walking around as a ghost, and thanks to the music he was listening to he could focus more on enjoying the experience than concentrating.
*This, my friend, is the good part of being a psycho*, he thought to himself as his mind was walking around randomly, watching the other trainees leave the building and smiling at the fact that they could not see him or his body, but he could see them. It was like being invisible, but better.

They reached the end of the trees and the planks slowed, it was too risky to get off any closer. Illiana hopped off her board, smoothing her skirt as she did so. The rest of the way was on foot, unfortunately. Illiana didn’t like to walk, she would rather not when she could use a lot less effort in moving. Granted, she was quite lazy.

"Oh okay, don't worry it's okay. You look pretty," She beamed at Illiana and started walking as well. After 15 minutes they reached a clearing and found the town's cobblestone path.
"Let's just turn left here," She walked a bit more and stopped in front of a pub-like store. "Welcome to the goodness of Harvey's"
She opened the door and the bell attached clinked when they entered. Phil slid into a booth across Illiana.
Soon a woman in a diner waitress grab approached them and handed them the menus. "Hi Stella, I'll be having oatmeal pancakes, the crispy bacon, extra crispy and sweetened peaches and she'll be having-" Phil paused to let Ilianna order.

"What kind?" the waitress starred back down at her, with eyes that seemed to wonder how this child didn't know how to order waffles.
"Uh, plain? With syrup?" Illiana's eyes were dazed, wondering if this was enough to satisfy the woman.
"And a drink, dear?" her eyes full of pity this time, thinking there must be something wrong with her.
"Just...water," Illiana said, sighing. She handed the menu, as well as Phil's, to the woman's out-stretched hand. Her awkwardness had returned and she began fidgeting in her booth. The whole being outside of the APD thing bothered her.
