"If you can see me, you're dead. If you can't see me, you're dead. Even if I'm on the other side of the world, you're still dead. So don't piss me off, 'kay, kid?

Description

Image
Name: Meira Phenix
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Eye color: An orange-ish shade of brown, seeming crimson when looked at in the light.
Hair color: Silver.
Height: Five feet, five inches.
Weight: 110 pounds.
Appearance: Meira is the sort who doesn't exactly stand out in a crowd. She is average in height, build, and figure, with long, slender limbs, narrow, slightly hunched shoulders, a fairly thin waist and flat stomach, and a well rounded, small chest. Her pale skin is kept impeccably clean through a creative application of her powers, and, consequently, has nary a mark or blemish on it, aside from her spade-shaped scar seared into the dead center of her back, right between her shoulders. Her nose, ears and chin are petite, her teeth clean and white, her lips soft and pink. Her only real distinguishing features are her somewhat unsettling eyes and her long, straight white hair, kept out of her eyes by a red and white bow but otherwise let flow back to a spot a little way above her waist, covering her scar from view should she ever go swimming or some such and expose her back. On a final note, her usual manner of grinning in a slightly crooked way causes her left canine tooth to poke out from behind her lips in a fang-like manner.

Her usual outfit consists of a simple white blouse, the collar of which is left unbuttoned so she doesn't get hot, a slightly baggy pair of bright red trousers kept up by thin red suspenders, and an aesthetic half-skirt, colored mostly red but trimmed white. Topping this off with fingerless white gloves and a pair of simple black shoes, she ends up with a somewhat tomboyish appearance. Her usual manner consists of a slight slouch, wandering aimlessly with her hands either slipped firmly into her pockets or stretched over her head in a carefree manner. She talks in a casual, almost condescendingly blunt way, and is almost never seen without her trademark crooked grin.

On a final note, her weapon of choice is a rather unusual one - a Naginata, which is pictured along with her. Essentially, it's a scimitar blade mounted on an amazingly well crafted and sturdy wooden staff. Using her powers, she usually just calls it to her location when she needs it and sends it back to her room when that use is no longer required.
Personality: Meira is, in general, a shameless tomboy. There's nothing girlish about her at all. She's blunt to the point of rudeness, dresses and acts with an incredibly casual air, and generally doesn't care much about things in general. Or at least, she doesn't seem to. While normally, she's rather aloof, if you're one of the Numbers of Spades, you can expect her full protection. You might as well have a mother grizzly bear watching your back, because she does not let anyone touch her pals. She loyally follows orders so long as they don't put any of her friends in harm's way, but she'd walk through hell and back for her allies, even if her commanders had specifically ordered against such an action, and then go tell it to those very commanders' faces with a grin and a laugh. She doesn't really care about the whole Human situation, but doesn't mind Humans either. On a final note, she can act somewhat battle-hungry at times, and is always up for a good fight, be it simply a training spar or a duel to the death. Such activities are the little bits of fun in her otherwise boring life. On a final note, she suffers from mild pyromania.
Image
Suit: Spades, 10.
Power: The manipulation of distances, a bizarre power to be sure, with many diverse applications. It has its limits however. Something about other people prevents her from manipulating any distances inside another person's body, so she can't, say, rip someone's heart out with a thought. In addition, without someone else's consent, she can't move them very far from their current location. So, say, teleporting someone else to the surface of the sun would be impossible. On the other hand, she is fully capable of doing things such as summoning her naginata, no matter how far away it is, warping the fabric of space to keep enemy attacks away from her - although this has its limits as well, as enemy attacks, especially magical ones, have a certain "will" behind them that she finds hard to manipulate - or, her personal favorite, opening a gate to the surface of the sun and releasing colossal typhoons of fire upon a target. She can control this fire in a way by manipulating distance gratuitously, but this requires a great deal more patience and concentration than she generally cares to possess. As such, most of her fire attacks are just a non-directional barrage of pure heat, which she herself is not harmed by, as she manipulates the distance between herself and the heat of the flames so as to stay out of harm's way.

However, Meira is also very, very lazy. While this power normally might have been enough to propel to her a higher rank, she has managed to fool her fellows into believing that she simply has the power of teleportation. As such, when other Suits are around, she generally will just teleport herself, or use "continuous teleportation" to hover/fly. However, when nobody's watching, she kicks things up a notch, and begins using her true power to disastrous effect.
Bio: Meira was born to a rather strict family, and as such, was cooped up inside a great deal of her life - partially due to her minor case of albinism and overly paranoid parents - a fact which aggravated her to no end. Her two brothers always got to gallivant around outside, and she often did her best to sneak out and join them. She spent most of her free time playing with boys and, consequently, picked up several boyish traits of her own, which in turn served to further irritate her parents. Possessed of a rebellious streak, when she found out about her unusual abilities, Meira was overjoyed, and used her powers in her spare time to explore diverse locations a la teleportation. Eventually, however, her parents discovered her little trips when she made the mistake of appearing out of thin air right in front of them while they were trying to find where exactly their daughter had been hiding from them. Everything was explained, and Meira was quickly deemed a freak and a threat and turned out of her home, souring her view of the world somewhat. While she tried to convince herself that they had never cared for her and she had not cared for them, it still hurt to be thrown out of the place she'd been raised by the very people who had raised her.

It was fortunate, then, that she found SUIT before any of the anti-SUITs found her. She quickly entered the organization, and, at the time, was actually convinced that her power was just teleporation. However, training both in weaponry and in control caused the young SUIT-to-be to realize that her ability was so much greater than that. She might have revealed this to her comrades as well, were it not for that lazy part of her who would have hated to go to a bunch of meetings or do paperwork. As a 10, she realized, all she would have to do would be train her fellows and follow orders from the Aces, Kings, Jacks and Queens, giving her the power she would have greatly enjoyed without making her do a bunch of annoying paperwork and unnesecary strategizing. So, instead, she honed her abilities to the point of perfection, and soon managed to outdo the previous Ten of Spades, taking his place. And so we reach the current date...

Oh, and Deuces.

So begins...

"Om nom nom nom nom."

The rather loud chewing noises were audible a fair distance from their source as an obnoxious girl, clad in red, wandered through the hallways munching on a rather large chocolate chip muffin. She was so bored! Meira barely ever had anything to do around here, and it really pissed her off. Maybe she could head out into the bad districts of the city and beat up some muggers later that afternoon? Nah, ordinary thugs weren't even a challenge. It would be over in seconds, and then she'd probably get chewed out by the Ace for acting unnecessarily. How dull.

Alternatively, she could pop into the dojo and see if anyone wanted to fight her, but then she'd have to hold back, and probably wouldn't even be able to use her weapon of choice in the first place. Punching someone in the face by crossing a room in a blink was always fun, but everyone around her knew most of her tricks, and it just wasn't a viable source of entertainment anymore. Yet again, boring.

Meira wandered into the common room, glancing between the various faces there as she devoured the last of her muffin. Kicking the legs out from under a small wicker chair, she caused it to fly up into the air, and, for a moment, its spinning motion obscured her from view. In that instant, she vanished from sight. The chair crashed to the ground, skidding and spinning around before bumping into the back wall. One moment, the teleporter was nowhere to be seen. The next, however, she was occupying the chair the moment it turned back around. Ah, showing off was at least a bit fun.

"'Yo, everyone. Is there anything to do yet? I'm bored as hell over here!" She announced rudely, not really caring that several of her superiors were in the same room.

Pandora steeled her gaze as she addressed the Ace of Hearts. "As a matter of fact, Lawrence, there was a matter regarding the integrity of this structure's hygiene. However, it is being taken care of as we speak." She brushed a curly blond lock from her face as a loud voice preceded Meira, the ten of Spades. Her responsibility. Pandora frowned as her subordinate called out in inappropriate informal speech. She sighed. She needed a cigarette. Fraternizing wasn't her strong suit, to say the least.

Lawrence gave a small wave back at Kintry as she entered and waved to him, then she went over and plopped into Ogars lap. He laughed silently to himself. He always thought Kintry had one of the most interesting personalities out of all the people that lived in the Spire. It was much easier to stay entertained when she was around and she never failed to get rid of his boredom. Not too long after Kintry entered the King of Spades came strolling in and leaned himself against the wall, engadging in a friendly conversation with Kintry about where he was leaning. Just then he heard the familiar voice of the 10 of spades as she entered the room, showing off her ability a little before taking a seat and bursting out that she was bored.

Unexpectedly Rose stood up and calmly, but clearly with an irritated pinch to her voice, told the girl to learn how to speak around the suits. He felt a tinge of pity for the 10 of spades, but then again he couldn't help but wonder if the girl would argue back. Of course, Ogar instantly spoke up in his loud, dinosaur voice telling the Queen of Spades to let her speak however she wants. Though, he did understand a little at why Rose made a comment. Her and the girl were both spades and Rose was superior to Meira by far.

Then suddenly the room when silent and the temperature dropped slightly. And he makes his grand entrance.. He thought to himself, his smile fading a little but not vanishing completely.

"I'd like to talk to everyone about something that would seem to encompass us all."

As Jace's eyes passed over his own, his smile went flat. Whatever it was he wanted to talk about wasn't going to be pointless, but he didn't feel like sitting around listening to the mans flat voice. He reached up and gently nudged his glasses back up against his face with his index finger, then let out a small yawn. He went back to the position he was in before with his elbows resting on the back of the couch, though this time both his hands were lazily sloped over the cushion. He looked over at Jace, his smile returning as he tilted his head slightly. "What's up Ice man?" He said casually.

"Keh," Meira spat unconcernedly, not even bothering to look at the Ace as she scolded her. "Do you want your allies to be a bunch of spineless cowards who grovel when you enter the room, or do you want us to have some backbone? Because if it's the first, then I don't give a damn, and if it's the second, then stop naggin' me." As she spoke, she opened up her hand, then manipulated the distance between a nice looking muffin she'd spotted in the kitchen and the palm of her hand, making it zero. Immediately, the muffin appeared, and she chowed down to her heart's content, not really seeming to care that there were other people in the room, if the loud gobbling noises she made were any indication.

Just then, however, the Ace of Diamonds appeared, formal as always. Meira looked up. Normally, the appearance of one of the head honchos of the organization wouldn't really attract much of her attention. However, his words caught her focus immediately.

"Whur ih-ih?" Meira asked, her voice muffled by a bite of chocolate chip muffin. Swallowing, she asked again. "What is it? Is it something to do?"

Kintry smiled, chuckling quietly to herself. She poked Ogar in the leg muscle, watching her own index finger barely make any indention. Her head then shot up as Flynn stormed violently into the room. The fem immediately sat up from her lounging position on her muscle mattress, tilting her head to the side. A small smile flitted across her lips, her eyes closing as she waved to the Queen of her division. The smile soon vanished as she started to yell at her Ogar-kiva. "Now, now, Flynn. You shouldn't yell at him. It's almost noon anyway, you should have been up earlier and taking care of stuff. Though, I can't really blame you. I like sleep too!" Her head bobbed up and down happily, agreeing with her own-self. "But really, don't blame poor Ogar, he can't help himself but to-"

However, Kintry was soon cut off as the temperature in the room dropped visibly, and a huge grin spread across her face as the Ace of Diamonds, Jace, entered. Unlike everyone else in the room, the girl immediately jumped out of Ogar's lap nimbly, running towards the boy full speed while yelling: "JACCEEEE!!!!" A few steps before impact, however, her entire form shifted. Her height and width shrunk visibly, soft, white fur spreading across her body as she turned into that of a skinny white cat. A loud purr erupted from her throat, and she landed right on the guy's shoe before entwining herself between his legs. Her face literally looked like a smile, even in feline form.

Her tail was erect and the tip twitching ever so slightly as she made a figure eight between his legs before pausing. And then she sunk her teeth straight into his leg. Softly, of course. It was a love bite: how most felines show their affection. She then jumped away from him before he tried to impale her with ice or something, shifting back and plopping back on her haunches, smiling up at him, a smirk entwining between it. Kintry's head then tilted, and she looked up at him, placing her finger on her lips. "By the way, we have an eavesdropper." She nodded brightly, raising her hand and pointing with her thumb towards the door. "Feline sense of smell, y'know? Thought you might like to know. Flynn dear, you should go get me some food! I'm bloody starvinnggg~" She added an opera-like tone to her last word, but only faintly.

Once again, she shifted into a white house-cat, scurrying over to Meira and springing off her back legs, sailing through the air and snatching the half-eaten muffin right out of her hand, landing once more on the ground, swerving and darting back under Jace, sitting down between his legs and dropping the muffin on her outstretched front paws, digging into her almost-well-earned prize. It was too easy to get, really.

"Sorry, pal, but this is mine!" The teleporter cried as the cat/Ace leaped forward, her intended goal obvious. At the last moment, the Spade kicked off the floor, pushing her chair back and throwing the muffin across the room, toward the open door. As the chair struck the wall, she continued her rather over-the-top reaction by warping distance to bring the chair crashing down from the ceiling, dropping back into its original position from before she had entered in her usual dramatic manner. However, when it re-appeared, she was not sitting in it. Instead, she strode through the door at that very same instant, catching the still-airborne muffin as she did so and gobbling the rest of it up.

"So, what is it? Please tell me it's something fun!"

Jace Beleren

Jace watched as Kintry decided to greet him with in an extremely loud and obnoxious way before she turned into a white cat and played around his legs before biting his leg. He watched as Kintry gracefully leaped into the air in an attempt to steal Meira's breakfast. Meira, deciding to react to the Ace's actions, tosses the muffin across the room before teleporting to retrieve it and finish the rest. As soon as Meira and Kintry finished fighting over the muffin, Jace decided to take action. Lifting his cape to reveal a simple waterskin, he pulls open the cork and, with a wave of his hand, lets the water run out and gather within his palm in the shape of a sphere. With a casual toss over his shoulder and a flick of his fingers, the ball flew towards Ogar's makeshift entrance. Expanding quickly, the ball formed a clear shape to cover the opening. Closing his hand into a fist, the shape froze into ice.

"Now that our room is relatively sealed from any eavesdroppers. Lawrence, I much prefer my name over 'Ice Man.' Glad to see you could join us Edei. Flynn please calm yourself. Meira a little respect please. Kintry, refrain from being so childish. Its unbecoming of an Ace. And Thank you Ogar." He bends over to pick up the white feline by the scruff on her neck from between his legs. "If you want a muffin so bad, Ogar made the kitchen easy access with the holes he so graciously created. But you can get that later once I have left." Jace said, before putting the feline back on the ground.

"As I was saying, our wonderful neighbors residing at the Cove are beginning to get a little rowdy and it would be unbecoming of us to ignore the crimes that are plaguing the wonderful citizens of the Hierarchy. I suggest a course of action to keep the residents of the Cove under control. Since we all have a say in how things work, I would like everyone's input on how to handle such a situation. And no Ogar, I will not let you run around the Cove, destroying everything that happens upon your rampant path."

Seeing the group enjoy the antics provided by Meira and Kintry stirred a long lost feeling within Jace's heart. It took him a few moments to realize what it was but, like the perfection-driven man he was, he knew that emotions could unravel a man's mind and forced the emotion back into the depths.

Kintry immediately returned to her human form, her eyes blazing like fires at Meira. "Please, dear. Yes, show some respect. I'd suggest you get me a new muffin before I tear you limb from limb in a most gruesome way." She looked up at Jace, smiling innocently up at him. "I don't act childish. I need food, you know. Besides, I was just excited to see my Jace-kiva." She smirked up at him, but it was a cute 'I don't mean you any harm, but seriously, give me some food' kind of look. She then glared back at the 10, vicious fangs suddenly growing from her canines before reverting to normal. "By any matter, I'd suggest you watch your hands next time Meira." A vicious gleam rose to her eyes, then she just giggled, trotting back over to Ogar and shifting into a black feline, hopping onto his thigh. Though flames were flickering across the tips of her fur, she made sure not to burn her precious King. "I use many forms, and I can mix and match, but I require food. Jace, not to be rude or anything of the likes, we must make this meeting short and to the point." Her voice was silky and a bit raspy in cat form, but still relatively the same.

"I suggest that we send someone out as a watcher then report back to us. We should be able to find the 'rat's nest' of most thieves. Otherwise, it'll be simple from there. I'd volunteer most graciously, but I'm too hungry to think that far ahead. I agree with Dmitri, however. Our thoughts are mostly similar."

Lawrence laughed at the harmless bickering of the others in the room. It was rather interesting to see Kintry and Meira fight over the muffin. In the end, Meira came out as the champion. She is quite the stubborn girl. He thought to himself as he stood there with his elbows resting on the back of the couch and his usual smiling expression/ He found it even more interesting to watch Kintry rub against Jace's ankles like she really was just a kitten. It would figure she'd be the first to act so friendly towards the Ace of Diamonds. Soon the bustling settled down after Jace covered the area where supposedly their eavesdropper was peeking through and began to speaking, Lawrence making a little half-chuckle as Jace told him that he proffered his real name over Ice Man.

Another half-chuckle after hearing the comment about Ogar. He stayed silent as a few others added in their opinions on what they should do about the Cove being rowdy. It wasn't really a new situation. This happened often but he never expected Jace to actually car what was going on. After hearing Kintry's idea about the watcher he straightened up, placing one of his hands in his pajama pants pocket and slightly raising the other in he air. "I'll do it. Sounds like fun and besides it would be easy for me to get close and check it out. All I gotta do is change my appearance and I can do that easily with an illusion." He said, shrugging. "Course that's up to all you guys." He said with a friendly smile as he looked at Jace, though directed the offer towards everyone else in the room. Then he noticed the Queen of Hearts enter the room, looking like she was sorry for being late. "Oh, good morning Ellen." he said to the fellow Heart. "We were just discussing the recent happenings at the Cove is all. Did you sleep well?" he asked politely, figuring she had overslept.

"Meh. Relax, Fluffy. There are more muffins where this one came from," Meira said offhandedly, fishing her free hand out of her pocket where it dwelt habitually and snapping her fingers in a presentatory manner as she finished devouring her own breakfast. Spontaneously, yet another chocolate chip-laden pastry fell from the ceiling, plopping down on the head of the Ace who was trying to threaten the generally fearless and battle hungry 10 in the terrifying form of a housecat. Meira wasn't exactly scared.

"Crimes in the Cove? Huh. The way I see it, it might just be easier if we waited just a little longer. Whatever it is petty thieves have done to piss you big names off, it must have been pretty brazen. If we delay a bit, then they'll think we just don't care. They'll try something even more stupid, and once they're out in the open, we can surround them and beat 'em down. Once their comrades get word that the forces of the Spire trashed their pals, they'll think twice before they do anything else contrary to your interests. That way, you get your criminals dead, Ogar and I get to crack some heads, and everyone is satisfied," The brash 10 proposed, grinning as she once more placed her hands in her pockets, kicking back against the wall in an entirely too carefree manner.

"Besides," Meira added. "A head-to-head battle is much more fun than sneaking and skulking about anyway. Wouldn't you say?"

Lawrence gave a brief nod at Ellen after she told him that she had slept well. He walked around to the side of the couch and, tired of standing, plopped himself onto the floor and crossed his legs. Everyone seemed to be inputting there own ideas and opinions about the situation, but Lawrence himself hadn't really felt like getting too deep into the problem. It wasn't in his best interest as to what did and did not happen at the cove, but he was and Ace all the same, so he didn't have much of a choice but to participate. His smile faded a little as Meira spoke up once again, this time speaking a little out of line. He figured one of the other suits would speak up about her behavior eventually. Technically all this girl was was a mere number and hardly had any right to input her opinion on what the final decision would be about the conflict at hand. Though he didn't really like the comment about thieves pissing of the 'big names', as what she had referred the suits to, but he didn't care all that much about they way she was acting. One of them would get angry at her eventually. Rose had already told Meira to speak properly around them, of course that didn't seem to help much. If anyone was going to scold the 10 of spades it would be either Pandora or Jace, most likely Jace would be the first to become the most irritated, but he wasn't placing bets. Although the girl did have a point about leaving the problem be for now, they couldn't just brush it off and assume those living at the cove would act so stupidly. He wasn't doubting their capability of keeping the rebelliousness under control, but he knew it wasn't safe to assume everyone at the cove was some idiot that doesn't know any better. He leaned his back against the side of the sofa and crossed his arms over his chest as he watched this little conflict unfold.

Flynn watched, highly amused though her face showed only annoyance, as Kintry made herself obnoxious. Though, Flynn had to admit, Kintry had a way of lightening the mood everywhere she went. Even her previous grumpiness at Ogar slowly began to fade as she watched the Ace's antics. She began to wonder how such a light-hearted, playful person could manage to become an Ace in the first place. However, her thoughts soon turned from this. It was almost like an unspoken rule among the Clubs not to speculate on it.

Her thoughts then turned to the 10 of spades. Flynn wondered why the girl was even here. She wasn't really an "important" face card like the rest. It seemed like more than one were already getting a bit irritated with the girl. Flynn felt that the girl reminded her of herself at that age. This only made her dislike the girl more, for whatever reason. Flynn finally understood the irritation her superiors felt when she never seemed to listen, not that she in any way regretted it.

Flynn's attention came back to Jace as seemed to scold several people in the room, herself, Ogar, and Kintry included. I am completely calm, she thought almost angrily to herself. He began explaining the situation at the Cove. Some sort of rebellion? Or was it really just increase crime? Flynn didn't think he would call such a meeting if it was only the latter. Several people gave their opinion, a few of which she thought were valid solutions. However, before she could really come up with something to do, she did need to know more.

"What sort of crimes are they committing?" she said in a nearly demanding tone.

Kintry's eyes flashed eagerly, a smile on her face in cat form. She dipped her head forward, the muffin falling off, and she bit into it as it descended. It was finished off in seconds, and then she grinned up at the 10 once more. "Smart choice, little ten." She shifted back into her human form, leaning back on her arms on Ogar. Her head tilted to the side, and she snorted derisively. "And you really think that letting them continue like this, and gain more people to what's happening is going to help? I don't think you see the whole picture, little ten. Letting it go on like this is only going to make the people more angry, and if we don't do anything about it, as we haven't really been keeping an eye on it in the first place, things are going to get really hairy. This is why you're only a ten, and the rest of us are at the top of the Hierarchy." The fem's lips turned up in a smirk, her eyes daring her to challenge it.

She then merely giggled, that smile back on her face as she glanced around the room. She watched as Lawrence went off to the kitchen, and her stomach growled very loudly. "Well if he gets to go, I'm going!" She pushed herself off of Ogar, and then made her way to the iced-over door. She put her finger on her lips, wondering how the previous had gone in and out unless there was a door she wasn't seeing. She shrugged, smiling merrily to herself and shifted into a bird-like creature. The temperature around her rose viciously, and the Ace of Clubs, now a phoenix, stepped lightly through the ice, having it melt immediately around her. After she was through the tiny obstacle, she turned, bowed, smiled cheekily, and then turned after saying a quick "I'll be back".

The girl then ran quickly through the hallways, immediately going to the fridge and taking out a bunch of cold food ranging from pancakes to bacon, to cake and juice, as well as strawberries and other sugary high-calorie sweets and the like. She shifted onto her tiptoes and took out a container of maple syrup, going all out on those pancakes. The syrup oozed out, amassing on top until the breakfast food was more than completely drenched. The gooey substance was even beginning to overflow the plate. Happily, she rocked on her heels before plopping down, beginning to tuck into everything cold. She really didn't have any time to heat it up, nor did she care much anyway.

Now having satisfied her avid hunger and licking her platters and silverware clean, she got up, stretched, washed her hands, and took a few moments to digest the food a bit before taking out a bag of jumbo marshmallows. Satisfied with herself, Kintry returned back into the room, walking straight towards Lawrence before grabbing his mug and running two fingers along the bottom, gathering up most of the sugar before landing on the plush carpet that surrounded the sofa which Ogar was sitting on. The fem then viciously ripped open the bag on marshmallows before taking one and wiping her fingers, and then popping the rest of them into her mouth one by one, holding it protectively close to herself, having no intention of sharing.

Meira had to bite back laughter at her uptight superiors and their condescension. They strutted themselves about like little peacocks, an analogy which only further amused her. Calling her out on her lack of judgement, treating her like dirt... That didn't make her feel angry or sad. Actually, it was hilarious in a sick way. They mistook her carefree suggestion for some sort of heavily thought over plan, and then the insults began.

No, idiots. I'm a 10 because I don't care about you or your Hierarchy. Leave the paperwork and the boring stuff to these old geese, I say. I'd much rather enjoy myself than be an egotistical and uptight shut-in. The teleporter thought derisively, giving an amused, carefree, and overall rather insulting laugh.

"Oh? Alright then, little kitten," She chuckled mockingly. "Do as you like. If being a boring old grouch before my time is what it takes to attend in such esteemed company, then I think I'll pass. No motivation, you see. I'd rather play! Rely on you old codgers in a pinch." Plucking a marshmellow from her pocket - specifically one that had just been inches away from Kintry's mouth the previous second, and had suddenly and inexplicably vanished thanks to Meira's powers - she tossed it down her throat, gave a carefree wave, turned and, placing her hands in her pockets, walked apathetically into a wall, and vanished with a last taunting laugh.

Lawrence let out a sigh as Meira began to go on about the reason she was a 10. In a way he agreed with her, though he still wasn't very fond of her sarcastic tone. They hadn't always been so high up. Once they were all just simple little numbers as well. He didn't know about the other aces, but it had been more work than he bargained for to get into such a high rank. He would've stayed a jack if he hadn't been the first on the list to take over after the last Ace of Hearts died. It hadn't really been his intention but he took the offer anyway, seeing it as a free ticket to have the choice to do whatever he wanted. We were all numbers too at a time. He thought to himself, though didn't say anything out loud as he lifted his cup and let the soggy sugar and the last bit of coffee slip into his mouth, moving the sugar around on his tongue for a moment before swallowing it.

He let out a sigh and watched the girl vanish from the room after passing around what seemed like a few insults. "Geeze, she sure makes me feel like an old man. Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." He mumbled then smiled as he turned his attention back to the other suits in the room. "Then again, apart from The Hulk and Cat Woman, you all look pretty grumpy today." He joked. The empty coffee cup floated away from his hand and he gently let it glide across to the room and placed it on the coffee table in front of the couch in the center of the room. "So, how bout we get this meeting over with." He said, then let his eyes focus on Jace. "What is it exactly that's got you all worked up huh?" he asked, his smile still on his face but his light green eyes were clearly serious.
