"Right...children with powers...why can't my job be something...you know, normal?"

a character in “The Battle of the Fallen”, as played by Crystal Flamedance

Description

Image

Kelvin is about twenty-five years old, with brown hair and brown eyes. He's a bit taller than most of his coworkers, not a whole lot, only a few inches. He has a slim, yet athletic figure. While at work, actually in the ofice, he'll typically wear dress pants with a button-up long-sleeved shirt, to keep up a business-like appearance. Off the job, or going undercover, he'll wear his favorite blue jeans with whatever color t-shirt he happens to throw on that day, often with a jacket, just in case it rains, or something. For the most part, he'll wear his tennis shoes, which really doesn't seem to match up with the suit he wears for work at all. Not that he cares much, obviously.

Personality

Kelvin is very superstitious. He'll always have an eye open for something he should be avoiding, like ladders and black cats, and insists his coworkers do the same. Sometimes to the point where it's annoying, but hey, he's only trying to keep an eye out for the team. And what could it hurt to be a little more careful around things like that? Besides, it only serves to make him more observant than most. Aside from that, he stays focused on the job. there isn't much that can distract him on the job...which often means he is overworked and stressed out. He likes to take out this frustration on whoever they are trying to catch, particularly if they run, or it turns into a fight.

He likes to keep his mind on the job at hand, and is proud of himself for being able to stay so focused. After hours, though, when he's allowed to relax, it's often in front of the television, watching whatever movie has recently come out. He likes to keep up with current events, and can't stand when he overlooks something, especially something important. He hates when the stress builds to a level where he comes close to taking it out on his teammates, even though he's the one that won't take a break. That's another thing he can't stand: taking a break when there's a job to be done. And the one thing he absolutely can't stand: wasting money when something can be done or attained for less.

Equipment

He keeps his gun on his waist at all times, even when going undercover. Even off work, the gun is never far away, usually within arms-reach of himself, or where he can easily run to grab it. He never bothers to hide it, except when undercover. Then he tends to wear his jacket so that it covers the gun, and won't let anyone close enough to actually find it. He keeps his cell phone in his pants pocket, opposite the pocket with his wallet that generally only contains money, one credit card, his id and, of course, his badge.

He's learned to fight rather well, at least, he thinks so. While he never was actually taught to fight, he taught himself. Which, of course, means he's a little sloppy, but he's got enough physical strength to help him win.

History

He grew up in an average family, mostly watching detective shows and whatever movies his parents allowed him to watch. While his parents didn't quite have the money to give him everything brand new, like his first car, bought as a run-down vehicle that needed repairs, he's done well for himself. While in high school, he had a job working in fast food, and usually saved up most of the money he earned. He's always been taught to save money for important things, and he takes those lessons to heart. So he's saved up a lot of money, and still uses second-hand vehicles, and average apartments, even though he can afford something better. About the only thing he doesn't buy second-hand would be clothing, and the only thing he will actually waste money on-movies, whether it's going to a theater or buying a dvd.

After high school, he went straight into the army, but only stayed there a few years. It allowed him enough experience, though, to secure a position in the government. He's never once considered changing jobs, or finding something easier to do, simply because of his childhood obsession with detective work. That doesn't mean he hasn't had his grievances, though; it's not like everyone in the government listens when he tells them to avoid ladders or cats running across the road. And he had to work hard to really be noticed by anyone high enough to help him earn enough money to support his movie addiction.

When assigned to help hunt down the half-angels, only being told they were children with unusual powers, he quickly became irritated. What was the point of all the work he had been through if all he was supposed to do was find and capture, and possibly babysit later on, a bunch of unusual children? He sees it as a waste of his talents, and although he still intends to focus on the job, it is only grudgingly so.

So begins...
