Savious Notiri

This world changes beyond my understanding. Hopefully, my understanding will keep me from changing.

a character in “The Book of Fate”, as played by unseenshadow2

Description

Name: Savious Notiri
Nickname: Sav

Gender: Male
Species: Human with genetic modification
Age: 51, equivalent to 23

Weight: 184 lbs
Height: 6 feet tall
Description:
Sav, with a lean figure, is by no means the most impressive person in town. His height may be that of a good sized man, but his skinny limbs and thin torso make the muscle that he does have clearly visible, and it equates to that of a farmer... maybe. His face consists of many slightly sharp features and normal sized ears, along with eyes that can become almost entirely iris or almost completely pupil. He has no hair, at all. Sav's skin reacts quickly to the sun, becoming the "optimal shade" for differing sun conditions that can be ghostly white, or blood red, to nearly pure black, but during the reduction of darkness in skin tone, Sav's skin can become a blue or green color.

Skills:
  • Scholar - Sav is a scientist at heart, and has a way of finding and abusing information
  • Nanotechnician - Sav has a great deal of training in nano technology, including both the use and creation of it
  • Firearms Training - Sav has decent training with rifles, carbines, and pistols

Abilities:
  • Nano Regeneration - Thanks to a mixture of nanobots and modified genetics, Sav can regenerate any single limb or organ within 24 hours, although this process is debilitatingly painful. Sav is also able to live with half of any vital organ
  • Air Tight Lungs - Due to having additional organs, thanks to genetic modification, Sav can breath for 12 hours should he not be able to breath normally
  • Low Light Vision - Using one of the first genetic modifications to hit the civilian market back in the world Sav comes from, he is able to see in a wider range of light levels without seeing less, or retinal damage. His eyes also adjust to different light levels quicker than the normal human
  • Internal resilience - Through genetic modification, Sav is quick to grow immunity to toxins and diseases, almost always within the time it takes for him to run out of breathable air within him

Equipment
  • MCW - The Matter Condensation Weapon, or MCW, is a pistol that condenses the matter of the air around it to for a projectile with similar speed and mass to a .45 round. This weapon gets the energy it uses from thermal energy around it, with a minimum of 60 degrees ferinheight, and stores up to 12 shots worth of energy
  • Molecular Holobench - Coming in at the size of a pound of c4, with a similar shape, the Molecular Holobench is capable of manipulating materials, of up to 1 x 1 x 1 meters in size, on an molecular scale. With a simple upgrade, this device can handle atomic manipulation, but this requires many heavy metals. This device can be powered by standard electrical ports of greater than 3 volts, or by the MCW for 1 hour

Weaknesses:
  • Looks - Outside of his time, Sav's looks can be taken in many good, or bad, ways
  • Scholar - Even though he is genetically modified, Sav's job did not afford him the luxury of genetically enhanced strength. His raising has also given Sav a mentality of never strike first
  • Regeneration - While awesome to regenerate limbs and organs, the pain is unbearable and can, in the right situations, cause Sav to faint. In cases were the skin is broken, regeneration is often visible when the skin is repaired
  • Future Tastes - While used to eating synthesized foods, Sav has grown used to their flavor and dislikes the taste of natural foods
  • Part Human - Besides the resistances and abilities above in the CS, Sav is still human. He can be dissolved, or burned, or frozen like a normal human and, in some instances, may need more food than a normal human
  • Genetic Weaknesses - While his genetics granted him great immunities and advantages, they have pitfalls as well. Two examples are specific variants of the color red hurt Sav's eyes and cause them to water, and certain pitches just outside the human hearing range agitate Sav's ears, along with a ringing sound
  • Magical Misconfiguration - While occasionally a positive event can come out of this, it is still a bad thing. Sav's existence outside of magical planes and heavy embrace of science has caused him to become randomly reactive to magic, making complex or precise magics often ineffective on him as well as often giving simpler, more elemental magics added effects

Personality:
As would every other citizen from the future, Sav would like to see the world be as advanced as his home, at least in his home. When stuck with limited technology, Sav will try and use his current knowledge to quickly forge new technologies. For his people, Sav is considered intelligent and capable with machinery, causing him to have been designated after his birth for the engineering trade. From his training, Sav is both unwilling to start a fight and equally willing to end one. When encountered with less intelligent, or more ignorant, beings, Sav does his best to analyze and understand their field of knowledge to be capable of effective communication. However, while Sav is effective at communicating a point, his factual views and lack of sociopolitical understanding make it difficult for him to convince others.

His claws dug into the rock he sat on, his breathing steady as he looked over his new world. It took a long time, but he finally started a hell of his own. The world lay blank, aside from his rock, the rock held properties that this world could not touch. It was like a room he could look out from and see his prisoners be tormented. The world as white as fresh paper. He sighed and let out a low growl. He could go into this world should he so please and speak to his prisoners as a whole new entity. A new body, an animal, a young girl, a handsome man, a threat of mass size. This was his world to control. All his. As he thought of this, a sound came from a distance.

Looks like he has his first prisoner....

Moving along the skyline was what appeared a falling star. Behind it, and only for a few sections, a distortion of the night sky. The sound from the air being thrown aside as this "falling star" rushed to the surface echoed through the empty world like gunshots across a flatland. The center of the star could be seen as it closed in on the land below, a dark black metal shaped like a two tipped bullet.

Seconds before the smash, the ground below the pod burned and singed before it was even touched. The light of the fire that once surrounded the pod spread out in a wave as nothing stood to stop it. Then it hit.

Much of the metal shattered instantly, slowing the unconscious contents severely. The tube from within the pod smashed into the ground, annihilating itself, shattering the glass, and causing the contents to be thrown from the tube at the speed of a horses half gallop, while the top of the tube joined in annihilation.

Waking with his face covered in burnt matter, black as night, Sav awoke on the new world. Moving his arms to propel himself from the ground, Sav stood. His eyes moved about, from the waves of fire now reaching distant and blank areas, to the black, charred ground to the white outlines of his impact to the crater where something once was.

Sav quickly checked his belt. His pistol managed to survive and the molecular holobench was intact. The nano-bots, now fully awoken, displayed his current condition to his retina.

"Good enough." Sav spoke to himself as he began to walk away from the crater. As he took each step, more of the burned matter fell from his plastic, self adjusting uniform, which was a vibrant orange and blue color. His skin, changing as much as his uniform with every step, slowly turned darker as the melanin began mass internal production.

Gabo looked over to the new comer. "Heh heh heh... This one looks like he'll be fun to break." A new plaything for Gabo and it looked like it came from a world he had never seen. Humans, he had seen those, but this thing was different...

Gabo spread his wings and flew over to the tall creature, his breathing coming out in low rumbling growls. "Welcome to your new home... Sav." Gabo took in another deep breath and smiled with a wicked grin. "I am your new master here, you do as I say, and live as I wish you to live..." The beast's claws scraped against the nothingness on the ground below him. With a simple stomp a mass of colour spread, and soon large formations of rocks surrounded the new creature. "I know a lot about you... who you are, what you can do... I am the master here, you are the pawn... This is MY WORLD!" Another stomp and a larger platform appeared. The whiteness was soon consumed in colour. The world being shaped by his nasty claws. "We will have a lot of fun here..." Gabo growled. I will watch from afar, if you can reach that island over there... survive the obstacles, and the monsters... you will proceed. I will go easy on you for now..." The large purple dragon spread his wings and took off. Leaving the new prisoner alone in this silver world of rocks and trees.

When the creature, who called itself Gabo, appeared before Sav, he simply stopped in his tracts. He was not afraid of the creature before him, for death was not a fear of his. Still, Sav was not too inclined to instantly put an end to his life. When the creature spoke, Sav listened and studied the creature's many features. The purple scales with a distinctive and new shine, and the control that the creature had over the world itself.

Then Gabo flew off. In his wake, Gabo gave Sav many useful materials. Wood from trees in its natural form works well as both a fuel and a building material, but also provided good amounts of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. From carbon, strong building materials can be made, or when mixed with oxygen and hydrogen, super-fuels can be synthesized. Even carbon-nanotubes (CNT) can be made from carbon itself, giving it nearly infinite applications. Stone, on the other hand, was a hard to separate mix-mash of elements, namely light metals and non-metals. Sav would be lucky if a 1x1x1 meter's worth of stone gave him five micro-chips, assuming he could find.

Sav looked ahead. He could see the island that Gabo had mentioned, but Sav would not be able to do this on foot. No, he needed to bring back technologies from his times to handle this, the closest one being CNT tech. The trees provided much of what was needed for it, but it was still a challenge. How would he power the holobench long enough to make a full sized raft to cross the small body of water between him and the island? How would he gather more materials to improve his protection from the monsters Gabo spoke of? The first step to the answer was finding a place to stay.

Walking down the path of stone and trees, Sav found a cave large enough for him to begin setting up in. Within the moment of its discovery, the location of the cave was well noted in Sav's mind. He would have to make a map of some sort later.

With a place to settle chosen, Sav walked towards the densest portion of trees that he could see. Using his weight to snap the branches off of the trees, Sav quickly obtained enough to reach the maximum that he could carry in one load. As the night began to descend, Sav had 7 loads worth of sticks. Going back into his cave, Sav built a small fire and plugged his holobench into his pistol.

Throwing some sticks into the working area of the holobench, Sav assigned the machine its task, to create a CNT tripod to hold his pistol near, but not in, a fire.

Gabo watched eagerly as Sav salvaged and moved things about in his land. The world was fertile that Gabo created, yes. His plans would go well. Gabo waved his tail and let a pack of large dire-wolves roam in Sav's area.

"That should prove well..." Gabo almost felt bad that Sav would have to battle a pack of dire-wolves on his own, but Gabo was also sure that Sav could survive. Humans are weak, this creature seems stronger...

It had almost taken the holobench a hour and a half to finish the charging stand for Sav's pistol. Such a lack of speed was a draw back of using a 3 volt system to power the holobench, which was designed more for engineering and small part creation than combat synthesizing. The leftovers from the CNT charging stand were converted into their natural respective forms.

As the fire crackled subtly, Sav began to enter a planning state of mind. In the dirt he wrote the words generator, simple metals, and boat, looking over them carefully. He looked up again, his pistol was about three quarters full now. The fire seemed to be working wonders for the recharge rate.

Then Sav began to feel a ringing in his ears and the onslaught of an invading headache threatening to take over his thoughts. This meant something was coming, but what? What could make that kind of noise? Then came the echos of the howls' hearing range. Sav knew that moment that whatever it was, it was a pack animal. He also knew one thing, if he stayed unprepared he could be the next meal.

Grabbing his pistol from the stand, Sav quickly armed his weapon. He surely wasn't going to use the weapon unless he had to, but he could never tell when he might have to. He also threw some extra fuel on the fire, in hopes that it may come to save him somehow if he were to get involved in something violent.

Hiding in one of the crevices within his cave, the darkness concealed Sav well, his skin being forced to a dark pigment. Two of the six massive wolves, standing at Sav's breast height, entered. They sniffed walking around the fire, slightly confused at the lack of a "foreign" smell.

Then one smelled Sav. Leaping at his position, the dire wolf had not foreseen Sav's willingness to lose an arm. With the arm in its mouth to block the wolf from killing Sav, a shot ripped through it. As the body fell limp over Sav, he hid within it, confusing the wolves who were trying to find a way to strike at him.

When they pushed the body off of Sav, a shot rang out, nearly removing the head from one as it fell limp. As the 4 remaining wolves prepared to jump, Sav neared the fire, the sticks within about a fourth aflame. When the next to jump launched itself, the burning stick was shoved into its chest with its own force.

Taking advantage of the pause of Sav trying to move the body away from him, the wolves moved into a much better positions. Or so they thought. With a short sideways roll, Sav fired into two of the wolves from behind the corpse as the last living one threw itself at its target, only to land in the fire pit. Sav stood in the center of the cave, the six bodies lying around him. Sitting down, he spoke to himself "A whole lot of fun."

Gabo watched as Sav defeated his Dire wolves... perhaps this creature is something a lot more powerful than he had thought... does he have feeling? Emotions? Gabo strived to find out.

"The more I know of this mysterious Sav..." Gabo paused for a moment as the flames and soot curled from his wretched maw, "The more I can make him bend to my will..." Gabo produced a monstrous laugh and turned on his rock. "Let them try and fight," he whispered once more, "Let them try...." Gabo's laugh echoed through the now dense growth that sprouted from nothingness.
