Description

Cassandra Claren

Age
16

Description
Cassieā€™s a cute girl, standing at 5ā€™6ā€ with big curly brown hair and warm chocolate-gold eyes. Sheā€™s a peachy skin tone that tans darkly in the summer
Image

Personality
An intelligent, wistful young woman who always dwells on the could beā€™s, rather than was currently going on around her. Sheā€™s distracted easily, and is always daydreaming. Cassieā€™s absent minded tendencies write her off as a bit of an airhead, but sheā€™s actually extremely deep, giving out good advice, and often reciting poetry or music. She uses her magic without hesitation, though she doesnā€™t like hurting people.

Weapon
Aside her magic, Cassieā€™s only weapon is a small forearm-length dagger she carries everywhere. Sheā€™s skilled with itā€™s use and can be dangerous if provoked or wanting to protect someone.

Bio
Cassie was born in a small village in Sirdet, where she was raised by her parents, who were avid scholars and dabbled in magic. They found Cassieā€™s elemental potential at a young age, and began teaching her what they knew, hoping she could one day pull them out of poverty with her talents. As she got older, Cassie became skilled in Fire magic, though sheā€™s basically useless with any other type. Aside from a weak shielding spell, fire magic was all she could do, and her parents resented what she could have been. The family was tense as she continued growing up, but Cassie kept honing her magic.

Other
If Cassie concentrates hard enough, she can condense her fire magic into something like red electricity. Itā€™s her most powerful magic, but often leaves her passed out for a few hours.
All she wants is to feel welcome among friends, as those in the village donā€™t exactly welcome her, and wants to protect people with her seemingly destructive magic.

So begins...

Cassandra

"Cassie! Get up this instant and help your poor mother!"
Half covered buy a small knit blanket, a petite girl stirred slightly, muttering something about 'Ice-horsey's...so pretty!... No, don't melt!' Her unruly head of chestnut curls spun around her face as she twisted on her pillow, eyes losing their scrunched up look as she began to drift off to sleep again.
Her would be sleep was interrupted by a sharp thud as her bedroom door was slammed open, and a woman looking rather like a furious chicken stalked in.
"Cassandra Metzipar Claren! When I tell you to get up, you get up and do something worthwhile for once, you ungrateful- ARGH! Put it out! PUT IT OUT!"
The last statement referred to the fact that the woman's skirt was now on fire, as Cassie had awoken with a start and spewed a small charcoal of fire at her mother with a morning cough.
Her hands flew to cover her mouth, warm gold eyes widening at the spectacle in amusement before extinguishing the fire with a snap of her fingers.
The chicken woman smoothed down the charred skirt, glaring at the girl with patience that was obviously being tested.
"Sorry Mother... You startled me..." She was trying hard not to giggle, fist pressed against her lips in an effort to subdue her smile.
"You know what? I don't care. I can defrost my herbs the normal way, with hot water and a gentle hand. I don't need a destructive teenager burning..." Her voice faded as she once again stalked out of the room.
Cassie allowed herself the smile, but it quickly turned into a frown. "Why couldn't she just have let me sleep then..."
She cast the blanket off her legs, standing and shivering in the cool air. Despite being a fire mage, the house was cold to Cassie, and she quickly had some body restricted flames licking around her legs as she moved to her dresser.
'Hmm, I wonder if the sky will be especially blue today.. it was so dull yesterday, it must have some better color...
It was a lucky thing her flame was body-restricted, or else several aspects of the wood house would have caught fire on her distracted trek across the room. She tugged on a thick blue wool dress that went nicely with her hair and gold eyes, then set off outside.

she wasn't wanted at home, so as alwways. She would head to the woods to train.

Cassandra

Cassie breathed in the crisp morning air with a smile, listening to the sound of her feet in the frosty ground. A short while ago, her village had been attacked by Frost Mages, but only a few people had been killed, most just injured. The small settlement had recovered well, but nature wasn't so lucky. Their fields were filled with bad, hard soil, garden plants growing weakling and taking on morning frosts that shattered their fragile leaves. The grass itself seemed to freeze over every morning, only just thawing out when night hit and froze it over again. Even the outskirts of the forest, a quarter of a mile away, had suffered.

As Cassie wandered down the dirt path towards the woods, she crossed next to a farm house, and gave greetings to the farmer, one of the few people in the village who was kind to her. The poor farmers of the town who had to rise even earlier now to counter the night frosts on their crops.
The older man and his family who owned the house and field ahead were out at the start of the field with buckets. A teenager grabbed an empty one, running back to the house where it would be filled, heated and brought back to the others, who would pour it gently over the plants. It was very time consuming, and Cassie, as always cherishing times when her destructive magic could help someone, offered her services immediately.
"Oh dear, you're a life saver. Don't be too rough, we do need them for the harvest!" Her curly head of hair bobbed with laughter, shaking the farmers grateful hand.
"I wont burn any this time, I've been practicing. Found a new property of fire the other day." She informed them, and the younger two kids stepped back, suspicious with the opinions of the other villagers.

Cassie put her right hand into a fist and pressed it into her palm, wrapping her pinky and ring finger over it, but leaving her middle and pointer finger up. It was her customary summoning pose when she tried to create large amounts of fire. "Fire Make:.... Solid Flames!" Leveling her two fingers to aim like a cross bow, a jet of fire spurred into existence, swirling into the air above the crops in a flat disc, stretching back as far as the field went. It hung there like a flat sun, flames swirling like they were encased in something, but not leaving the circle.
She held it for a time, watching the frost on the plants melt. Then the fire sputtered out and vanished without a trace.
"Thank you so much Cass!" The old man gushed with a smile. "You saved me a weary day of work! I could offer you pay if you'd only work for me..."
Cassie laughed and began to backpedal towards the road.
"I'd love to Herrick, but you know my parents would never allow it! Regardless, I'll always help if I'm walking by!" She waved and continued on her way to the forest, happy for some early training and a chance to help someone.
Then she moved deep into the forest, looking for somewhere to train, as a new place was always better than the same one.

Arion looked down from the tree he was perched in. It was his task and burden to find the Four. Fortunately for him, he was a fit and speedy elf on a mission. And furthermore, he knee the prophecy and had committed it to memory. He had also been following a few subjects who he knew had to be the Four. Either that or they were just unusual children with gold eyes.

At the moment, the elf sat in a tree in a dense forest. He was within hearing range of Cassandra, who was his first capture of the day. Travelling would be a challenge, but Arion was sure he would be able to succeed in his mission. That being said, he pinched the herbs carefully between his fingers before jumping down onto the ground in front of Cassandra.

Normally, he would have tried giving her a chance to fight back. But he was on a tight schedule at the moment and she was one of the less aggressive members of the Four.

He quickly darted to her, closing what little distance there was in less than the blink of an eye. He placed the herbs beneath her nose. The special concoction was enough to make anyone who inhaled or consumed it pass out for a good chunk of time. After making sure she was passed out, Arion pulled her up over his shoulders and started off to a small cave he had been residing in. His next target would likely be Connor, just to see the spark he had in him.

Arion set Cassandra down gently in a cave that was in close proximity to all four of the provinces. It was as if the gods had planned this out- Four saviors, four provinces. It made his work that much easier to save Calor. Hopefully these youths would listen to him.

It was then that he heard a commotion in the direction of Redlin. It looked like the boy in Wann would have to wait.

Running once again, Arion found himself in the province of Redlin. Seeing the tell tale sign of frost mages, he began to heat up a few of the buildings in hopes that the terrified people would be able to take it from there.

The transfer of energy drained him though. He walked up to a horse, breathing heavily. Arion hopped on to the chilled animal and used it to follow the trail of destruction. At one point the trail veered off into the woods. He followed.

He soon came to a pond. The wildlife fascinated him, what wasn't frozen or dying anyway. As much as it pained him to ignore the flowers, he needed to find Meredith. He knew that she frequented these woods and if the ice mages were here, it could mean trouble.

Diving into the water, he quickly surfaced in the cave. Looking around, Arion was surprised to find an unconscious Meredith and a few mages. Seeing as though his work was done, he heaved Meresith over his shoulder and leaped into the water. He dragged her onto the shore and whistled for the horse. He attempted to make her as comfortable and least likely to fall as possible before starting back to the cave at the center of their world.

Cassandra

In the few split seconds Cassie had seen the elf man, for her reflexes were rather good, her imagination had decided to run free, losing any chance how ever small of a sliver, she had at escape. Of course, her imagination didn't recognize escape was needed, happily going off any filling her head with creative stories.
Perhaps he's a prince from a lost kingdom, come to save his betrothed from the clutched of the evil Frost King! ooh, or better yet, a runaway criminal, desperate to make a new life in this land, not knowing the frost king has ravaged this land! Alas, he can never go home and see his beloved family again, or he faces... oh, what is this?
When she gasped in surprise at something being held under her nose, she immediately blacked out.
~~
The crystals hung low from the ceiling, glistening with her distorted reflection as she wondered slowly through the small cave. "Hello?" She cried, not knowing which way to go. She was cold. The cave's icy walls were seeping in towards her, sending their chilled aura's to surround her, trapping her, freezing her in a solid frost box. Her hands ignited into flame, clawing that the ice, but it wouldn't met, she was trapped, taken, never to be free. Around her, through the box she could see others, three other boxes, and a figure shackled to the wall. The ice dungeons. That was where she was. Punishment worse then death. The Frost King had won. She and the others had failed.
~~
Cassie shot to life in shock, immediately smelling burning. It was normal to wake up and sometimes find her bed sheets or nightgown on fire, or something else in her room, so the girl located the fire without hesitation- except it wasn't really I fire, simply smoking chunks of dirt falling from a large patch of soot on the wall next to her. Dirt...?
"Oh my, it seems I was kidnapped." Cassie said simply. She looked around. The cave was small and showed signs of a recent camp out. "Interesting. Who could possibly want to kidnap me." She thought aloud. However, amid the various fantasies of seeing the elf earlier and besting him in an over dramatic show of fighting skill she didn't even possess, the thought to walk out of the cave didn't occur to her. After all, after something had happened, it had happened, and in Cassie's mind yo could only look over your mistakes, see what you could do better, and not try to change the outcome.
Now that she thought of it, it was quite a bleak way of thinking.
Perhaps I should change my ways.... No, that would really make to sense. I've been kidnapped by a powerful warrior, and I can do nothing to change that fact. If I escape, I'll just get taken again. After all, if someone has gone to the trouble to nab me, they must want me for something.
Cassie yawned, forming little Solid Fire figures in her hand. She was still tired from training, not to mention whatever the elf had knocked her out with. A nap wouldn't hurt.
She trailed her fingers along a fore-arm length dagger, strapped to her thigh, easily able to feel it through her dress. Hm, she could still fight with that after all, even if her magic power was exhausted.
"I do wonder when my kidnapper will come back." Cassie said to herself, not knowing that somewhere not to far away, he was already on his way with yet another.
"Oh well, nothing to do then."
With that, Cassie began hummed a song to herself, and filling her mind with images of herself, fighting wildly again Frost Mages to help the Elf regain his betrothed, skirts and hair flying with fire along her sword....

Cassandra

Her blade flashed next to the Ice Kings throat, pressing the point into his neck. "Free these prisoners, or you're life will be taken!" He chuckled as a low grin crept onto his face. "You are a fool." Ice cold grasps grabbed her from behind, pulling her roughly back as her sword clattered uselessly to the ground. "Take her to the dungeon."
Cassie was half dragged down spiraling halls until her vision became clouded with frigid mist. Her bare arms became numb. She could feel nothing. When she could see and feel again, she was alone in a icy, dark hallway. The only light came from ice lanterns that reflected on the icicles.

"Hello? You over there?" Cassie stirred easily, having only just fallen back asleep. She twisted onto her other side to look into the cave and saw a girl, tied to a rock.
Cassie found it strange she wasn't tied up herself, but then again, perhaps the kidnapper had expected her to stay passed out for a while. However, being that she had a certain affinity to fire magic, she had as much fire in her veins as frost magi did ice. Being so, she often was able to neutralize toxins and illness before to long.
She blinked at the girl- who had golden eyes, to Cassie's astonishment- and sat up, checking subtly for any fire around her.
"Do you know where we are?
"Well," Cassie said pondering it. "We're in a cave..."
She stretched a bit, rolling out her joints.
"When's the elf coming back? I want to know what he wants and get home."

Perhaps she should be demonstrating some of the concern this blue haired girl had. But, that would be a waste of a feeling. Whatever happened, happened.
Noticing once more that the girl was tied up, Cassie pointed her finger in the direction of the ropes.
"Don't move." She said airily, and sent a flame shooting around the girls bonds, freeing her in seconds as the rope dissolved.
"I'm Cassandra, but everyone calls me Cassie. I'm a fire mage."
The chocolate brunette stood and hopped over to the girl, sitting next to her with a little smile.
"Who are you?"

Arion watched silently as Connor sank to the ground before one last hurrah. Though he was still alive it would not do to have him bleeding like this. The elf approached the boy cautiously, before gently touching his fingertips to the other's neck. The blood dried quickly before starting to form a scab. Arion could not fully heal the wound, but he could at least close it and accelerate the healing process. But doing so took both his acquired energy from the plant and his own.

Looking around, he wondered how he would get Connor to the cave now. The horse was not coming back and Arion was in no mood to drag the boy with him. Grumbling to himself, he picked up Connor and began walking through the forest, being sure to stay in the shadows when he came near a busy road.

Eventually he arrived back at his little home. With the boy in tow, the elf opened the "door" to the cave. It was really just a weaker part of rock that could easily be moved from the rest of the cave. He dropped Connor in before jumping down himself.

It was another short walk until he reached the room where Cassandra and Meredith were. A light flow of energy was keeping them from escaping the room and he was a bit surprised to see that they were awake.

Arion created another "door" in the flow which was fueled by a mix of elements and his own will power. He tossed Connor in before sealing the flow again.

"I'm sorry for the informal meeting, but I have a tight schedule," he commented. He began walking off, intent on getting the last of the Four.

Cassandra

"Um, Cassie, did you know about this wall? It seems this elf isn't ordinary."

The brown haired teen nodded and tilted her head at the wall. "No, just noticed it now, though it's obviously some form of energy magic. Very unordinary indeed."

No more than a few seconds after her statement, the familiar if slightly foggy face of the kidnapper-elf appeared behind the energy wall. The wall disappeared and a boy about Cassie and Meredith's age was thrown onto the floor in front of it. The elf then resealed the wall before either girl could make a move.
"I'm sorry for the informal meeting, but I have a tight schedule," The elf than walked off quickly.

Cassie sprang to her feet and rushed over to the crumpled teenager. She turned him gently onto his back.
"Meredith, he's been cut!" She pointed out, gesturing to the other girl. Other than that the boy seemed fine. Just passed out.
Feeling brave, Cassie shook him gently. When that didn't work, her brow furrowed and she slapped his cheeks lightly.
"Hey! Wake up sleepy head." She prodded. Not having the desired effect of waking him up, Cassie lit a small spark her on finger and prodded on his exposed collar bone.
His eyes sprang open and the girl noticed his eyes were just as gold as her and Merediths'- before he freaked out.

Connor jolted up as he felt the flame touch his skin. He got into stance and released two vines grabbing the girls. " So this is hell I thought it would be bigger. " he said then grabbed his head in pain. The energy he had used before was coming back but it was still extremely low. He kept a hold on the girls and constricted them with the vines. " Who the hell are you ? " he shouted as he stood back up.

He wasn't quite sure where he was but he was coincident he wasn't dead meaning he hadn't killed himself with his axe. Then it hit him his axe was gone and he panicked in his mind thinking of what would happen if had lost all his power and had to use a weapon then he would be screwed in a battle. He didn't like the thought of fighting without it but he might have to.

Cassandra

Cassie sprung back as the boy awoke, scrambling to his feet and using earth magic to conjure up some vines, that quickly wrapped around the two girls. He made a comment about hell that the curly haired girl scowled at, about to make a retort that the cave hadn't been hell before he got there, but he decided to scream inquires first.
"Who the hell are you ?" He yelled, rather loudly Cassie might add. Meredith jumped in on the shouting before spraying the boy with conjured water. Cassie was glad. Though her magic energy was nearly all back, she didn't want to deplete it so fast as to burn out of his vines. She was happy Meredith had taken care of it.
The vines quickly lowered as the boy was surprised and Meredith helped the chocolate teen out of her own bonds.
Glancing up, she saw the boy had gold eyes as well. What a coincidence. Though it couldn't be, she decided. That seemed to be the reason they were here, each of their unique element affinities and golden eyes.

"My name is Meredith Whitebough. Of Redlin. Who are you? The elf brought us all here, and I think for a reason."

"I'm Cassandra Metzipar Claren, from Sirdet, though everyone calls me Cassie. We're not your enemy's, like Meredith said, an elf with magic kidnapped us and brought us here. I didn't think when I sparked you, I just wanted you to wake up." The girl bowed slightly, head down in apology. Then she glanced up with a faraway look in her eyes, thinking for a moment, before moving back to the small area she had woken up laying on. She sat down giving the edgy boy and Meredith a small smile.

"As the bard Vigante sang, 'Those united by uncommon call, a unity formed, an alliance is drawn...' Anyway, we need to be friends to figure out whats going on, and the reason we're here. Sit down?"

Cassie spurred a small fire to life in front of her, creating images in the flame with a few finger twists. She thought about the other two in the cave with her, and why they all might be there... but was distracted by thoughts of how they had gotten kidnapped. Her head cocked sideways and she starred dreamily into the distance, in a rather awkward way.

Meredith had probably taken part in a raging battle in a lost undersea kingdom where she lived with merfolk, who taught her the art of water magic! When attacked by the elf, the ocean had come to life around her in an epic battle, but though she had been about to win, her powers gave out and the elf was able to grab her before any merfolk could rescue her... oh how devastated they must be!
And this boy! He was a rogue forest leader, starting a rebellion to take down the frost king! While battling a small army of frost mages with his rebel fighters, he was hit by a blade to the neck from behind! The ice mages than captured him and healed him, hoping to take the boy to the Frost King for a reward, when he suddenly broke free! While making a daring escape, the elf managed to knock him out easily, since the guy was still a bit injured.

The fire mage quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she realized her small fire had spread steadily outwards in a melted sort of circle in her lapse of concentration. She quickly pulled the rogue flames back to together and mentally hit herself.
Now's no time for dreaming Cassie! Shame on you.

Then she looked back to the others hoping they didn't think her too strange.

Connor nodded and retracted the vines. "Very well but let's get one thing straight, I won't let myself get taken alive again. " he pointed to his neck. " A failed suicide attempt before the elf captured me. " he sat down. "Name's Connor I'm from Wann. " he didn't like the fire girl when she flashed it uout in all directions forcing him back a bit. He sensed she was the nicer of the two but she was still a bit unstable and he was disturbed by her because of his nature. He was an Earth mage and fire was his biggest weakness. The other girl was a water mage and seemed a bit more hostile because of her blasting him. He didn't want to stay with either of them but they seemed to be stuck inside this hellhole. "So how'd he get you two? " he said his legs crossed and his head lowered.

Cassandra

Cassandra listened with rapt attention as Connor then Meredith explained how the elf had kidnapped them. Not as dramatic as she envisioned, but still a good battle tail. She flushed a little as she explained her own situation.
"Well, I was walking back from training, and um, he ambushed me and knocked me out with some herbs." Noticing how weak that sounded, she added, "He was really fast."

She accepted a piece of the dried meat from Meredith, sticking the hand that held it into the flame to soften it and give it some more flavor. When it was slightly sizzling, she bit into it, not capable of burning her mouth. In fact, Cassie couldn't get burned at all except from extremely hot fire, and deffinetly not by her own, which kind of explained her sticking her arm into the makeshift campfire.
She smiled at Meredith. "This is good! You should have some Connor, food helps get over suicidal tendencies." It was a bit playful, but her voice still sounded vaguely distracted. The fire mage was always like this, usually halfway lost in her thoughts. She glanced at Meredith's eyes, then Connors, then thought of her own. Then she figured that if Connor was an Earth mage, Meredith a water and she a fire, they were missing someone.

"Hey guys? I think it's a bit more then coincidental that we all have gold eyes, and not to mention we control three of the four elements." She chewed on her meat mulling a thought over. "Do you think the elf went to get a wind mage, with gold eyes?" She shrugged, just putting out the point. "Either way, whenthe elf comes back i say we gang up on him and demand answers. Other than just getting free, I want to know why he kidnapped us."

Connor nodded as Cassandra explained herself. "He is fast he got away from my Venus fly trap and my vines. " he nodded to the fire mage and took a piece of meat. " Thank you Meredith. " he said with a slight smile. He was feeling better and in so his mood. "Your right it is good better than the rat that I usually have to eat if I want meat. " he laughed "I'm mostly vegan for that reason but I eat meat when I want to. " he looked around the barren cave and tried to look for an exit. He found none and sighed. "Okay attacking him will be useful but I'm gonna be relatively useless in straight battle without my axe so one of you have to and me and the other girl can provide support, what do ya think it'll work we just have to do it right. Connor shrugged at the question of how to knock the elf down. " All I used was a simple root trick knocked him off his horse and swung my axe after grabbing him with my vines. " he growled slightly and though of his axe and got angry. He would travel to his death as long as he got his axe. He grew growled louder and gripped his fists tighter. The room got a page chI'll in the room and frost grew on his finger tips. He opened his eyes and realized the cold. " Uh I'm sorry I just had a bit of an anger surge. Cassandra

Cassie listened to the other two mages stories, eyes wide and freely rimmed with tears. She had never been through anything as tragic as Connor, or Meredith for that matter. Though she wasn't exactly welcomed into the warmest of households at least her parents were alive.

"Have you ever lost anyone... That you love?" Meredith whispered to her, and Cassie just looked at the ground.
"I don't really know what love is I don't think. I've never left my village and there I'm not exactly welcome. Even my parents would rather do without me... Oh, but you both-" She broke off as she hiccuped, a result from trying to keep her sobs subdued. "I'm so sorry for what you've been through."

Cassie was a deep girl. Though she was very absent minded, she cared about other people, and right now, she was very upset for her two fellow captives.

Connor sighed and shook his head as Meredith told her story but stayed silent. When Cassandra started to talk he looked up and managed a small smile to try to keep moral up. " It's fine Cassie I look at it this way, I can't go anywhere but up from now one." he smiled again and looked at Meredith. " Disease, helluva way to go if ya ask me. If it was me a simple of Hemlocks would ease the pain. " he sighed and grew a few from the ground. " Easiest way to kill someone is through their stomach and these fuckers fit the bill perfectly. " he dropped them into the fire and listened to sizzle of the plump berry's juices. " Cassie I don't see any reason someone would hate you, you seem nice although you 'bout burned my neck. " he laughed slightly then sighed calmly. " We are in simple a band of misfits brought together by a common cause, we need to kill this elf and get out so that we can be out of this hell. " he put his hand over the fire. " You two in ? "

Connor growled when Meredith didn't want to kill him. "Tch fine" he scoffed then listened to the prophecy and rolled his eyes. "Well if you ask me we aren't exactly the brave heroes to face off against the frost army in my opinion but whatever." he watched the blue haired girl walk to the wall and ask for beds. "But of course." he smiled then walked to an open corner of the cave where the ceiling was slightly higher. He pulled a pouch from his belt and threw out a rose petal, a daisy petal, and a piece of grapevine then stepped back. " Stand back a smidgen girls." he said slyly then started to chant " Gabaliņiem ziedu es augt jums gultas uz nakti " the grapevine grew to that of a hanging bed made from wood. The daisy expanded making a yellow bed with a nice white cover and the posts being large green stems. Then the rose turned to a dazzling satin-like bed as the legs made small stems as well. Connor stopped and caught his breath then jumped into the grapevine bed. " The flowers are your guys'es beds decide who get's who okay ? " he said smirking then yawned somewhat.

Cassandra

"I don't want to kill him either," Cassie agreed. "He didn't harm us after all."

She watched Connor create three plant beds at Merediths request, jaw dropping slightly in awe. With a wave of her hand their small campfire disappeared, but that made the cave much to dim for Cassie's tastes. She set up two orbs of fire in the highest corners of the cave, using a plasma-like technique of Fire magic that would allow them to stick there without danger of falling. She then jumped up and walked over to where Connor had made the beds.
"The flowers are your guys'es beds decide who get's who okay ?"

"I want the rose!" Cassie immediately chirped, drawn to the crimson color. She sat on the edge of the bed hesitantly, then drew up her legs and reclined in it. "I'm going to stay up awhile and think. But Meredith, if you wake up and smell something burning, don't hesitate to splash a bit of water over here, okay? I set myself and my bed on fire sometimes while I sleep, depending on my dream..." She quickly realized that made her sound unstable and waved her arms innocently above her head. "I mean, it's totally under control if I wake up, and It's never that big, I just wouldn't want it to spread, as we're all rather close."

With a sigh Cassie settled down, trying to clear her mind so she wouldn't have any avid dreams. Usually her uncanny spurts of fire resulted from her imagination getting her excited or scared, and her body would naturally create fire to counter that. No worries if she stayed calm though. Calm, calm calm, totally calm, though Cassie wondered if the elf would come back while they were sleeping.
Probably with the forth of their little group, if Meredith was right about one from every province. A male air mage, again if she were right. What could the elf want with them?
Perhaps he worked for a witch and she needed control over the elements to curse the land, resulting in a tragic battle between the witch and the Frost King, and-
Woah. Cassie shook her head, turning over onto her side.
So much for trying to keep her imagination calm. Cassie decided to stay awake and stare at the wall of energy imprisoning them. Better not to risk igniting her flower bed in flames. That might be a little insulting to Connor.

Connor was still dreaming a slow peaceful dream about the fields with no ice but was suddenly awoken but the rain hitting his face. "Shit" he yelled as he rolled out of bed and fell down and the cloud froze into a thin ball of frozen vapor and landed where his head was. He heard a faint giggle from across the cave and saw Meredith 'asleep' he smirked and started to chant. "Å ie ziedu gulta veikta pagājuÅ”ajā naktÄ« pārvērst tos atpakaļ uz ziedlapiņām, no kuriem tie tika veikti. " he said calmly as the grapevine puffed into a puff of smoke leaving the twig remaining and Connor collected it happily and returned it to his pouch. Next the rose started to change before Connor grabbed Cassandra off and put her on the floor as it turned to a rose petal. He then laughed as the daisy rapidly changed and dropped Meredith onto the floor. He grabbed the white petal and put it in then shut the pouch and smiled innocently. "Mornin how'd ya sleep." he said happily.

Cassandra

Cassandra glanced at the still forms standing next to her before concentrating once more on the glimmering palace below them. The air was frigid, but her presence cast a warm air about the teens, fueled by an unnatural wind to swirl gently around them. "This is it." A voice said, and Cassie nodded in agreement. They began moving confidently, stealthily down the hill, careful not to disturb their surroundings. With their earthen colored cloaks, it was hard to tell they were even there. Cassie ran her fingers over the silver short sword on her thigh, exposed by her hot pants and short tunic. It was comforting to know the blade was there, a second resort if her magic were to fail.
Suddenly, the ground tipped below them. Amid their startled gasps, Cassie found herself tilting on her side,, feeling the familiar prickle in her fire magic as frost magic was used nearby. She opened her mouth in a silent shout of warning-

A thin geyser of fire breath rushed from Cassie's mouth, singeing the wall in front of her where her bed had been, and narrowly missing Connor. She doubled over to the side, coughing slightly and rubbing her eyes before giving them an frightened stare. She noticed Meredith was on the ground and Connor looked rather smug and felt bad to disrupt their morning shenanigans. But she was angry at having been moved in her sleep, as she could have burned one of them.

"Did I not tell you guys I use magic in my sleep!? Who ever moved me scared me so bad in my dream, I didn't mean to almost hit you Connor! I'm sorry, oh, I could have burned one of you badly!" She cried unhappily. Despite the fact Fire magic was generally destructive, Cassie never liked hurting people with it, especially when those people could have been her new acquaintances. That was why she primarily set out to discover new properties of fire, like her solid flames or make-magic, among others.
Cassie stood up, smoothing down her hair as curls bounced all over the place, trying to pat the sleep creases from her dress. She then sighed and gave them both apologetic looks.
"I'm sorry, I'm not much of a morning person."

She flipped her hand to put out the dim fire globes in the ceiling, then moved over to the energy wall, putting gel like fire-gloves around her palms so she could lean on the wall and try to peer through. She could only tell it was morning, nothing else. With a sigh, she returned to the other two, sitting down as her stomach rumbled.

"I wish our stupid kidnapper would hurry and let us out of here, I'm hungry."
