Sorrow leans against the tree. Annoyance flickered in her eyes. She'd been stalking this deer for hours, yet somehow it avoided all her shots. She scowls quietly, and aims her last arrow. She lets go of the string, not daring to make a sound. The arrow hits the deer right in the eye.
"Yes!" She whispers, going over to the fallen animal. Sorrow lugs the deer away, and brings it to what she calls her hideout. It was basically an organized placement of sticks, that formed somewhat of a roof. It also had huge leaves on top, to stop most of the rain from leaking in.
She rubs two rocks together, and creates a spark, that lights the deer on fire. Most would think its insane to set on fire their only source of food, but it was Sorrow's way of cooking it. She then hurries to the nearby stream, and takes a handful of water to put out the animal.
Her eyes widen, and she wails in pain. The water had burned her palms.

Cossette petted the baby squirrel that had hurt it's leg. Cossette loved taking care of little animals. She feed the squirrel homemade medicine made from Tasman leaves. The baby squirrel drifted off to sleep in no time. Cossette flew farther into the forest, after all, she needed more leaves and herbs. She moved branches and leaves so she could fly straight through the forest. She suddenly caught a whiff of smoke, making her cough, she flew farther just to see a deer set on fire. She stared at the burning deer. She suddenly heard a yelp and flew in the direction of the wail. She reached the stream and watched a woman scream in agony about the water.

Sorrow starts to panic.
"Since when does water burn?!"
She whispers. She squeezes the burn, knowing it would make it worse, but she couldn't help but do so. This had never happened in the past, what could have caused this? She thought. Slowly, and carefully she stopped clenching her hand. She looked at the water skeptically. Then she thought, if water burns would fire heal?
"The deer!" She suddenly whispered.
Quickly, she got up and ran to the deer. She couldn't let it spread. She snatched a leaf from the top of the small structure, and ran back to the stream, then tried to fill it up like a bucket, without getting wet. She glanced at a fairy, and said awkwardly,
"Could you help me?"

Cossette let out a shriek. She had never seen a full grown human before. She then remembered the water, herbal teas and liquid medicine in her satchel. She grabbed the canteen full of the herbal tea first. She had used it to protect a nest of little baby birds from burning in a forest fire. It had worked wonderfully, dousing the fire in a matter of seconds. She poured it over the flaming deer, minimizing the fire.
Next she grabbed the leaf from the woman's hand, folding it on the sides and dipping it into the water and poured it on the poor deer. Cossette was glad it wasn't a baby. The deer looked quite old, if it had had a baby, the baby had probably grown up already.
After putting out the fire, the deer smoked all over the place. Cossette accidentally inhaled some of the smoke, being very small, she went limp and passed out in a matter of seconds.

Sorrow winced when she saw the fairy pass out. She crept over to the fairy, while silently grinding her teeth. She places the fairy into her hand, then grabs the leaf.
She lays it by a tree, and gently places the fairy on it. Sorrow coughs a little from the smoke, and waves it away with her hand.
She sits down, and waits for her to awake.
She had never really talked to anyone before. The only thing that ever heard her voice was the fairy, and herself. Maybe a couple travelers when she didn't know, and the animals she hunted, but that's not much. She looks down at the burns, and frowns.
"How does water burn?"
She murmurs, looking down at her hands.
Suddenly, a drop of water slips from a leaf above. It lands on Sorrow's index finger, which hadn't been burned. There's a small hissing sound, as it becomes burned too.
She groans, and a single tear spills from her left eye.
That was the most painful burn yet.

Cossette stood in the middle of a field of flowers. She knew this was a dream, or to better describe it, a nightmare. This was were the humans started to walk on their land, and where Cossette ran away, not knowing the fate of her parents or friends. She was only 11 human months old. She had just learned to fly without crashing, and everyone was celebrating the end of Summer. Then, out of nowhere, a huge foot crashed down onto their settlement. Cossette knew that once again, she would have to watch herself make the foolish decision that she did. She squeezed her eyes shut as everyone ran for their lives, and she ran away, like a coward.

She woke up with a jolt, and saw the human lean over her. "W-who are you?" Cossette asked.

She looked at the fairy. She then spoke with a stutter,
"I-I'm Sorrow."
The sound of misery echoed in Sorrow's voice, as she slowly slid her hands out of the fairy's sight.
"And you are?"
She asked, with a face that screamed pain. Sorrow pasted a nervous smile on her face.
She was trying to hide the pain as she spoke, mostly because she wasn't the trusting type. Usually she would be a bit more brave, but at the moment it seemed impossible to keep her fake personality.

"I-I'm Cossette..." Cossette said. Cossette looked at Sorrow strangely for a second. She narrowed her eyes. She knew that her story would most likely not be true. She might as well listen to it and then ask more questions that would most likely put a holes in her story.. Cossette gave her a fake smile. "Well then, where are you from?"

Sorrow gave a nervous chuckle.
"I-I'm a runaway orphan. I cant remember which orphanage I was from. How about you?"
She asked, in a friendly tone.

Cossette knew that she might as well tell the truth.
"Oh... when a was about a year old, humans destroyed my home. as far as I'm concerned, I was the only survivor," Cossette looked down at the ground. "By the way, you must have come a far way. How long were you traveling?"

Sorrow answered with hesitation.
"I'm not sure. Maybe a few years..."
She then murmured,
"And I'm terribly sorry for your loss." Sorrow tried to change the subject from her past.

Cossette stared at Sorrow's hands. "We should get your hands patched up," She grabbed burn medicine and bandages from her satchel. "This'll take awhile. Have you ever heard the legend of the Last Mage of Sarina? My grandparents told me this story..."

Sorrow shook her head.
"I've heard travelers talk about it, but I never have heard it clearly, much less all of it."
She murmured, frowning at her hands.

"Oh, it's a good story. It's funny you haven't heard of it. I've met other children from orphanages, and they all heard the story from the orphanage," Cossette said. "Okay, this might hurt a bit," Cossette pushed down on Sorrow's and poured the burn medicine on it. Cossette knew it would burn a little. She noticed a long scar on Sorrow's neck. "When and how did that happen?"

Sorrow winces when Cossette pushes, then answers,
"When I was running away, i got scraped by thorns."
It was slightly obvious that wasn't the answer, there were no thorns sharp enough to give scars, but it was the only thing she would come up with. She wasn't actually sure how she had come across the scar, but if she said that, it would probably make Cossette suspicious, which Sorrow already suspected she was.

Cossette gave another fake smile and kept applying the medicine. No thorn was sharp enough to give a scar, and that scar was obviously from when she was a baby. She started to wrap the hands in the bandages. "So, how long were you at the orphanage? DO you remember what town you were in?" Cossette wasn't believing a word Sorrow said.

Sorrow answered plainly,
"I was at the orphanage until i turned 10. Right now, I'm 14. I also have no memory of what town it was in."
She wasn't at all familiar with the name of any town, city, or village. All she knew was that she lived in Sarnia.

Cossette wanted to laugh. This was actually funny. She kept wrapping Sorrow's hand in the bandages. "How did this happen anyway?" Cossette hoped that Sorrow knew this answer.

Sorrow wondered if to tell her the truth on this one. She then thought to herself, She'll think im crazy.
"The fire from the deer burned me. I ran to the water, to help the burn."
She answered, with a blank face.

Cossette finished up wrapping Sorrow's hand. "There. It should heal faster now," Then Cossette looked up at Sorrow. "By the way, you are probably the worst liar ever,"
