History
After killing his brother Abel, Cain was punished by God, being told that the land would no longer sustain him and give him strength, he was then sent to wander in the lands of Nod, east of Eden. While wandering there, Cain encountered Lilith, his father Adam's first wife. From Lilith he learned the basics of the Disciplines. Cain was then visited by four Angels, agents of God who offered him the chance to repent for Abel's murder. Cain rejected each angel in turn, only to be cursed for each rejection: weakness to fire, vulnerability to sunlight, thirst for blood and constant betrayal. Each of his decedents also endured these curses and are known today as vampires. Dolby was a son of Cain, born into a life he did not deserve for his fathers own sins.

"You seem like a rat-girl to me, personally..." He smirked and proceeded to torment the corpse some more. "Lestat... is a child. Pretending to know the truths life has to offer...", he looks up at her. "I am no child..."

Dolby Venris kicked the corpse one more time as she walked away, causing the head to separate from the body. He followed her through the cemetery to the crypt entrance. "I'll remain out here... I don't make it a habit to enter where I'm not invited... when vampires are concerned." He made sure to add the last part, being as he constantly entered the homes of humans to feed in the middle of the night, usually slaying a loved one right underneath the spouses sleeping nose.
Dolby Venris shakes his head and chuckles, "Armand is not dead... he is gathering. He will collect you when he feels it is safe for you to be near again." He walked up behind her and ran a single finger through her blonde hair. "I can never get over how beautiful death can be...", he whispered as he stared down at her head.
Dolby Venris pulled his hand back at her outburst. "So I too am a monster? I was born unto the night... and I too must feed off the blood of innocents and the guilty alike!" He turned and kicked a tombstone, toppling it over. "Good for you...", he grunted as he dropped down with his back against hers.
Dolby Venris sat silently before answering calmly in a whisper, "I was never turned..." He did not elaborate on his words, he just sat there staring at the broken grave stone.
Dolby Venris turned his head towards Lestat, "Glad you enjoyed it..." He didn't particularly care what Lestat saw or heard. "Shall I show you daylight next? I hear there's a beautiful view of the sunrise not to far from here, Lestat."
Dolby Venris stood up slowly and walked up to Lestat, looking up at his face. "I welcome your attempt..." The only thing that bothered Dolby was the fact that Lestat had referred to him as a common child vampire. "You obviously do not know who you are dealing with... The stench of your former life clings to you like a pile of horse shit."
Dolby Venris looked back at Rose, looking furious with her for some reason. "Wrong... I have taken her as my own. Touch her and you will be safe nowhere..." He turned back to Lestat and glared up at his eyes. "You are dismissed...", he ordered as he waved his hand as if shooing away an annoying bug.
Dolby Venris continued to stare after Lestat as he entered the tomb. He shook his head as Lestat disappeared and sat back down on the grass. "Your welcome...", he said to her coldly.
Dolby Venris sighs, "True..." He started to sound strangely nicer as he spoke, "I have not taken you as my own as I told Lestat... I've made it a point to have the others consent first... But Lestat does not know this and will not until your blood is revealed to him." He looked over his shoulder at her, "I just wanted him to leave you alone."
Dolby Venris offers her an alternative, "There is a mausoleum nearby... I've been staying there. Lestat won't dare enter..." He continued to look at her, occasionally looking to the ground. "I... wouldn't mind your company. I have already offered you mine on many occasion."
The setting changes from Twisted Path to The Monastery
Dolby Venris opened his eyes at the sound of the crypt door closing. He had been awake ever since he felt her stir, but felt he'd have less explaining to do if she thought he was sleeping. He spent most of the day thinking about his situation and had just fallen asleep a few hours before she awoke. Reaching a hand up to the edge of the coffin, he pulled himself prone and looked at the door. He could hear her footsteps trailing away and slowly climbed out of the coffin, stepping softly upon the stone floor as he adjusted his tie. "What is she up to this early in the night...", he asked himself.
Dolby Venris closed the coffin lid and turned to the exit. The night air was still showing the faint heat of daylight as the cemetery grounds seemed to move with mist. He instinctively turned towards the mausoleum and proceeded to Armand's crypt, wondering what she found so important within its walls. Dolby found himself feeling slightly jealous of the attention Armand received from Rose and tried to hide as best he could as he descended the stone stairwell into the mausoleum, twisting his way to Armand's crypt, stopping outside the door.
Dolby Venris scowled slightly at the invitation and shook his head. He didn't exactly like the fact that they automatically assumed he wanted an audience with them. He cleared his face of the obvious disdain and pushed the door open, stepping in slowly. "I was wondering why you...", he began then realized that it wasn't their business to know they had spent the night together. "... I was curious as of why you're out so early."
Dolby Venris watched her gaze move to Armand and Marius. He stared them for a moment as she moved to the door, not paying attention to her words at first. He turned and looked at her for a moment and sort of shook himself awake, "Uh... Umm... I'm not hungry..." He was straight out lying to her and didn't quite understand why.
Dolby Venris turned and pushed past Rose, "I owe you no explanation..." He had suddenly figured out why he had lied to her and it had every bit to do with Armand and Marius. He couldn't understand why she always turned to Armand and felt a strong bit of resentment for it. He took off up the stairs and left the mausoleum, not caring how immature the others found him. "Too dangerous... Pfft.... Please yourself...", he grumbled mockingly as he walked back out into the cemetery grounds.
Dolby Venris stared into the distance and sneered at Rose's words, "Why don't you ask Armand? It seems he has all your answers..." He rounded on her and spit on the ground, "Or better yet... Why don't you go admire Marius' paintings... or.. Hell!" He threw off his jacket and stormed off into the mist, "Why don't you just... fuck off!" He had always had strong possessive tendencies and this just proved how badly he wanted her all to himself.
Dolby Venris stopped and grasped a grave marker, tossing it into a large marble statue. "Argh! I hate loving you!", he shouted angrily but she was already out of sight. He turned and stormed off into the darkness to hunt, feeling the violence and relief from hunger would ease his anger are at least keep him from doing something stupid.
Dolby Venris didn't waste time and took the first person he came upon, a watchman. Moving swiftly upon his prey, he silenced the man before he even knew he wasn't alone. Drinking rather fast, he threw the corpse upon the ground and moved to the next building, noticing candle light from a window. As he got closer, he could see clearly through the window, a young girl. She was familiar, resembling that which was ruining every thought in his head at the moment and he roared loudly, smashing the glass and disappearing into the night before the girl could awaken to see what had destroyed her window.
Dolby Venris stormed back into the cemetery grounds and stopped at an old tree. Leaning his forehead against the bark, blood dripped upon the grass below him. He watched it for awhile before realizing that his mouth was still full of his victims blood. Gulping slightly, he stood up and looked down at his white, button up shirt. It was surprisingly clean, not a drop of blood on it. "What am I doing?...", he asked himself aloud. "Why am I acting like this... Why do I let it get to me?... Why do I...", he stopped and thought for a moment.
