Description

Du Kuldr Drasgoroth, The Golden Fleet, contains nearly four thousand ships, not including fighters and transports, that comprise the might of Istalri Nianya's Naval force. Each ship is made almost entirely of Starsteel, a magically enhanced metal formed from arcane gemstones and raw magical power. The Vessels range in size from that of a small moon, to a single pilot fighter. The Vessels are all highly organized and grouped up into military units referred to as Storms. Each storm is comprised of 10 distinct ships, the largest of which is the command ship, Classified as Fortress. The remaining Nine ships are organized into groups of three referred to as Squalls, Each of which is led by a Rook, who delegates orders received from the Fortress as necessary.
In total, there are 11 classes of ship in the military fleet of Istalri Nianya, Their names, functions, and capabilities are as follows.

Citadel - High Command ship equal to the size of a small moon. Contains landing bays for smaller classes of ship, weapon systems for defense and offense, warp drive, hard light energy projection, and arcane warp field projector. Primarily a support role ship, the Citadel class commonly found when five or more Storms are collected together.

Castle - Supply transport, large vessel semi spherical in design, three hundred kilometers across. It has a large scale Gatr Generator which is commonly used to move supplies from itself to other ships. It has few offensive capabilities, being primarily a stockpile vessel, but it has significantly more defensive capabilities than most ships. It can generate hard light shields and mass Rejection Fields, as well as deploy Ionic Particle Disrupters and Warp Field Negators. It's primary means of defense however are the automated sentinels that comprise most of it's crew. Multitudes of Constructs, both flying and ground based, are able to hold off an assault long enough for reinforcements to arrive, or for the Castle itself to retreat.

Fortress - Capital ship, Approximately thirty kilometers in length, shaped like a spike, the widest part being the front and the thinnest being the propulsion system. Fortress ships are the commanders of Storms, the ten ship groups used for military organization in the golden fleet. Fortress ships have multiple functions and capabilities, most notable being hard light projection, energy and projectile based weapons, fleet hangers and warp systems. The Vessels command an arsenal of 10 Pillars, which are discussed below. Aside from that the ships also have another functionality. Each Fortress class ship is designed with the ability to transform from a mobile star ship into a Space Station. The Transformation process is lengthy and requires at least three hours to complete, but once completed the vessel is capable to perform multiple functions which make them ideal at defending and besieging for months, even years if necessary. Once in Station mode, the ship can activate it's Gatr field, allowing reinforcement vessels to be transmitted directly to the battlefield from across galaxies. It also gains access to an immense arsenal of Anti-Orbital and Defensive Weaponry, making it an extremely powerful Area Denial weapon. Fabrication, medical, and even Training Facilities become usable in station mode, allowing the Fortress to rearm, repair, or reconstruct damaged ships, treat injured personnel, and even Train new soldiers. This capacity makes the fortress class ship ideal for defending worlds under assault, or assisting with the invasion of those worlds. As a final note, the ships have a powerful weapon that allows them to fire a concentrated and sustained beam of raw plasma. This weapon, commonly referred to as the Sun Spear, is used to destroy stationary targets. The beam can be sustained for up to two hours before needing to recharge.

Rook - This class of ship, on average 20 kilometers in length, is the primary warship of the fleet. Like it's larger cousin the Fortress, it has Hard light Projection, Energy and Projectile based weaponry, and an utilizes up to 10 Pillars. The Rook is also capable of a transformative process, but where as the Fortress performs this action in space, the Rook uses this in terrestrial encounters. The, appearing like a smaller version of the Fortress, turns it's propulsion towards a planet and then allows gravity to pull it towards solid ground. As it enters the atmosphere the vessel channels the friction into the engines and uses the added energy to reduce it's impact. When it's close enough, the propulsion system shifts about, drilling and entrenching the vessel into the ground. The ship itself then transforms into a massive "Tower" with many of the same facilities the Fortress class station mode boasts, with the exception of Fabrication and Training facilities. The center of the vessel is opened up, and the Gatr field activated, allowing vehicles, equipment, and personnel to be directly transported to the ground. In this state the vessel's bridge also becomes a command center, making the Rook ideal for invasions.

Bishop - Another Ship averaging 20 kilometers in length this vessels appearance is like that of a closed flower while in transit. When stationary the Ship can "bloom" open. Each "petal" is a docking station for hundreds of thousands of drones. These drones, around thirty meters in length each, move at around 300 miles per hour, and have two weapon systems. An electrical arc blade which is used to cut through the hulls of ships, and a set of warp missiles that create a field of destabilized mana, causing molecules caught inside the field to vibrate at abberant frequencies. This effect causes solid materials to disintegrate at a molecular level. The ship has no other defensive or offensive capabilities.

Knight - a small ship only 5 kilometers in length, it has more powerful engines than other vessels, and is capable of moving faster and with more dexterity. Usually containing an arsenal of Bombs, boarding pods, missiles and standard projectile weapons, this is the primary combat class ship used in the fleet.

Canoe - A large transport class, Canoe's feature few offensive or defensive equipment, flares and standard shielding. Used primarily for transporting large numbers of troops, supplies, or ground vehicles, the vessels are five kilometers in length can can carry three hundred kilograms in cargo without suffering movement restrictions.

Wolf Axe - Single Pilot Fighter equipped for dogfighting and aeriel manuevers. Can be equipped for missile runs as well. With a low Travel Range, this ship accompanies larger vessels in a defensive and offensive capacity.

Shadow - Stealth ships designed in utmost secrecy with classified technology. These vessels do not show up on any form of scanner or detection device, save by the naked eye. The Vessel doesn't show up on any wavelength, it doesn't produce any background noise, and has no footprint of any sort. Like it's namesake, the only proof that a Shadow is there is that you can physically See it. This class of ship is only used for insertion of special operatives, retrieval of those operatives, and exfiltration of persons of interest.

Falcon - The Falcon Class ship is a high speed recon vehicle equipped with minimal weaponry, forgoing combat capacity for sheer speed. The Falcon is capable of reaching speeds just under eight hundred kilometers per second, seats a single pilot, and bears the latest in scanning and detection equipment.

Pillar - Pillars are not actually ships, but are rather automated externally based weapons platforms controlled by capital class ships. They are capable of many different features, making them exceptionally powerful weapons. They can fabricate and deploy unmanned assault drones, like the Bishop. They can also rearrange their structure to generate Gatr Fields, fire smaller scale sun spears, and electro magnetic pulses. The pillars are around 5 kilometers in length, with a diameter of 25 meters. Pillars are controlled via advanced magical constructs found aboard the capital ships they are tied to. Finally, Pillars are able to generate a plasma state eldritch energy barrier. This barrier admits neither physical material or energy through it, cannot be dispelled or ruptured, and is completely opaque. The Pillars can only produce this pillar in a Terrestrial environment, it cannot be generated in space, and once active the pillars commit all of their function to maintaining the barrier. The pillars also serve as doors in the barrier, being that they are the only point from which you can enter or exit the barrier.

So begins...

The Legion Warriors were adept at close combat before anything else, and in this they were in their element. Their shields were made to take the blows of mighty beasts without buckling, their swords made to cut through armor stronger than that they themselves wore. Despite all of this, the ferocity and strength behind the space marines attacks drove the warriors to fight at a standstill, unable to gain the upper hand, yet also giving no ground. Amelia continued to strike at opponents nearest to her, even going so far as to grab at a marine by his helmeted head swing him into his kin. When the Sergeant engaged her however, all of her attention was focused upon him. Fyrnskain were trained only to attack, and given armor meant to withstand assault as they seldom defended themselves. As such the sergeant would find it easy to land blows upon her person, the difficulty came in that his weapons simply were not strong enough to cut clean through the armor. It wouldn't do to say he did no damage, but rather that it was like chipping at a stone pillar. Given enough time he would topple his foe, but time was not something the sergeant would be permitted.

After the orbs had been thrown, Erna and Calsai fell back to the rear of the line at the wall. The Legion Warriors shifted their shields into the tall tower shields specializing in defense, then they had formed a column and began marching forward through the gap, using their shields to protect themselves and their brothers as they filed onto the bridge. As they all came in they formed an arc in the doorway. Erna and Calsai dove into the opening, tossing another pair of orbs behind the cover closest to the door, before rolling behind the shield wall. Morthen in his heavy assault armor stepped into the doorway, shifting his weapon back into Gatling form. He then began unleashing an unrelenting torrent of energy blasts at any marine foolish enough to poke out from cover. As he fired, heat built up in the barrel of his weapon, charging it's sunspear configuration.

The sergeant would be surprised that his power sword was not doing much damage, however in another second the sword would exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the sword. The next strike he would attempt if it connected, the sword would disrupt the molecular bonds of Amelia's armor, leaving his sword to actually tear through her armor almost like a hot knife through butter. The other marines were now in a standstill with their opponents, the marines that were shot down or knocked down by Amelia, would rejoin the fight to stop the enemy from destroying the core at all costs.

At the bridge, the marines took aim at the advancing column of soldiers, however their bolt round could not break through their armor. Seconds later when another orb landed behind one of the cover two Initiates hid behind, they knew their life and service wereover. They could try to escape to the next cover however the enemy proved themselves to be formidable opponents. The Initiates primed a grenade and tossed it over their cover in the center of the arc of units in front of the door way. they would then rise from their cover and unleashed a final barrage of bolt rounds before the enemy soldiers or the orb claimed their lives. "For the Emperor!" The marines cried out as their final words.

Renalanus clenched his fist once he saw this scene, but he had hoped his brothers sacrifice would not be in vain. If the enemy formation would scatter he would charge the enemy lines with Storm Shield at the ready and his Sword Brethren would teleport in the middle of the enemy ranks and begin cleaving enemy soldiers the second they appeared. If not, they would do the same anyways but with a much greater risk since the enemy formation would not be disrupted. "No pity! No remorse! NO FEAR! For the Emperor!"

As the power sword, enhanced with the disruptor energy, struck her armor it cleaved through with ease, severing straight through to her flesh and drawing blood. Amelia howled in pain, but the sergeant had made a terrible mistake. Fyrnskain are selected for their role for a lack of magical prowess and affinity, and most are incapable of even the most minor forms of magic. They make up for this by being trained in the use of an ancient ability known as the berserker rage. In her pain Amelia gained strength and fury, and she swung her axe with all her might, each swing ripping the very air with it's sheer power. Should any of the marines be unfortunate enough to fall into her reach, her axe would cleave them in twain.
The other soldiers, emboldened by Amelia's battle roar, began to fight with greater ferocity, and the battle would begin to tilt in favor of the Legion Warriors, less something was done soon.

The two orbs that were thrown were like the first, in that a few seconds after they had been thrown they exploded and sprayed white hot molten metal in a 30 foot area. The Grenades that were thrown into the midst of the warriors clattered to a halt before exploding, sending their own shrapnel and force into the warriors backs. Fortunately, Erna's wards absorbed the force and repelled the shrapnel, but their energy was spent, and the wards dispelled by the attack. Knowing now that her soldiers were vunerable, Erna called out orders in her peoples language. Ten warriors total were in the line, three of them pulled back from the arc. These three raised their shields up and, as those shields shifted and changed, slammed them into the ground where they deployed and formed stationary barriers. These self same warriors took their blades and shifted them into rifles, returning fire upon the enemy. Three more warriors pulled back behind the barriers and knelt down, each preparing a spell of some sort.
The remaining four raised their shields and charged forward towards the enemy positions. Calsai joined the charge forward, allowing his armor to take the brunt of whatever attacks the enemy launched at him. Morthen in the mean time flipped his weapon back onto his shoulder, having gathered enough charge for the sunspear to be fired again. He directed this attack at the largest group of enemies there was, and then fired the beam at their cover, which would quickly melt away and leave the enemy exposed.

Erna positioned herself behind Morthen, and prepared a new spell, one she hoped would assure their victory in this battle.

The sergeant would immediately recognize the danger when Amelia suddenly became enraged. He was too slow to dodge the axe however he attempted to block the axe from hitting him, however his blade would be knocked out of his hands and he would lose an arm in the process. The man did not yell in pain, instead he appeared to be the same before the fight started, calm and calculated. The sergeant backed off to avoid the berserkers rampage, and the marine unfortunate enough to pay attention to her were either to slow and were cleaved apart or were dealt with by the Legion soldiers when they had their guard down. Their numbers fell from 20 to ten and only two minutes has passed.

The sergeant, although badly wounded pulled out a Melta Bomb. A small explosive capable of punching holes through tanks. He would ten wait for an opputrunity when Amelia was in mid swing to rush at her, and he would if nothing interrupted him shove the Melta bomb in the area where he had cut her so he could take her out.

At the Bridge, once the Initiates behind the one of the pieces of cover were killed. More initiates, three of them behind cover were targeted by Morthen would relize their cover was melted and scrambled quickly to find cover while trying their best to shoot the enemy. The Sword Brethren would then teleport behind the enemy lines with Power Halberds at the ready, one such Sword Brethren appeared behind Morthen hoping to end him quickly before he could unleash another barrage. Renalus although wary that their formation was not broken, activated his Iron Halo and raised his Storm Shield before charging out of cover to meet the enemy head on to stop Calsai in his tracks while the Initiates and the Librarian would deal with the other four. The Librarian could feel an increase is something in the air, he could sense the enemy was using some sort of magic. He would channel his Psychic might and in doing so caused even more demons to swarm the ship and it soon attracted one of the enemies of the Imperium. he would then cast Dark Excommunication on the enemy ranks and forcibly severed their magical energies but it would only last a minute, a minute that the marines would not waste. However when the Librarian used more of his powers more demons were attracted to the ship, and more powerful demons were attracted and forcing trying in vain to force themselves through the Gellar Field....and something else was attracted, an enemy the Imperium knew well was also attracted.

The machine couldn't believe Ayanna's reaction to his attempt to bring peace, then again, the Dark Wings probably would have done something similar had he not mercilessly slaughtered every single one he encountered in the name of preserving humanity.

On Kinoko's transformation, Lucifer could read the energy output, at least in the aura and the way it was interacting with the environment around Kinoko. Though seeing the other being beheaded gave him pause. He'd seen her pull herself together before upon being split in half, so this did give him hope that she wasn't dead, but she did seem to be in great pain.

While Kinoko began her unrelenting assault on Ayanna he descended to examine Hana. With surprising gentleness for a machine he moved to pick up her severed head and gently place it near her body. He didn't say anything, his words had proven useless with this group, but at least a gesture of acceptance might help in some way. If Hana was watching him closely enough she'd be able to see he was slowly repairing himself, the crack in his right eye lense was shrinking and his armor was slowly rebuilding itself.

Amelia rampaged through the enemy's ranks, blood leaking from the gash in her armor on her side. She continued to roar and shout, the force of each swing of her axe enough to cause the air to gust about her. In one swing the sergeant dashed forward and placed a bomb into the crack in her armor, but enraged as she was Amelia did not even notice it, until it had detonated and began melting her cooking her from the inside. Her armor, made of starsteel and able to absorb near limitless amounts of energy was all but unaffected by the bomb. Her body however nearly evaporated as it did its work. She grimaced and continued fighting a few more steps, but very quickly she fell to the ground, defeated. The other soldiers were only driven further into fury by her defeat, as they continued to press their advantage. Two of the warriors shifted their blades into spears and threw them at the sergeant. As they flew through the air the haft of the weapon burned off like a rocket driving the blade towards the sergeant in an attempt to impale him with the blade, the outer layer of which had burned in temperature until the material was in a plasma state. In another moment later that blade would explode, driving lightning hot shrapnel through everything in twenty meters, killing anyone caught in the blast.

On the bridge, a shock went through Erna's body as she was cut off from her magic. The other warriors felt the same effect, and quickly grabbed their spears again. Not a moment too soon, as the sword brothers who teleported behind their barrier line had caught them by surprise, and they were now hard pressed defending themselves. Morthen was busy laying down more fire upon the initiates who had left their destroyed cover, but Erna covered his back. She parried the strike directed for him, then drove her thin yet stout blade clean through the marines chest and into his heart, before removing him from her blade with her boot. Meanwhile Calsai clashed with Renalus and grinned at him. "I heard Ayanna brought you down in less than a minute, I seek to beat that time" He growled at the marshal, spinning to his right and bringing his left foot up and around to kick at his opponents side. The other warriors met their opponents in likewise combat.

Wing City often found itself the venue for the next big war, a victim of senseless violence and mayhem. The civilian populace always found themselves in danger of death, of losing those they held dearest to that violence and mayhem.

A dark figure shot out of the sky and came to crash into the street, debris exploding up into the air and then raining back down in chunks. When it began to clear there was a crater in the street, standing in it was a woman donning body armor colored deep orange over a black jumpsuit.

Holsters covered her body, a dozen handguns tucked into each. They glimmered in whatever light was nearby. Sometimes blinding those that found their attention focused on the pristine weapons instead of the piercing green eyes of the woman barely hidden beneath the gas mask that covered her face.

The armored woman was a harbinger of things to come. An omen. Simultaneously, she was a beacon of hope to the people of Wing City.

There would be no more senseless violence and mayhem as long as she was there. No more wars. No more loved ones to be buried in graveyards.

Several wormholes opened high up in the sky directly above the harbinger, each glowing and swirling with orange energy. Crackling with artificial lightning.

Dozens and dozens of small fighters and bombers flew from the wormholes, all of them flying in formation that clearly indicated that they were ready for a fight.

They were followed by one large ship. It was nearly a hundred kilometers in length, casting a large shadow over the city. And then came another. And another.

A dozen more of the ships came into view from wherever they were in the wormholes. Half flew further up into the sky, the others were content to eclipse the city until they were no longer needed.

Until the fighting that was causing so much damage to the city was no more.

The Invictus were back and they were not happy with what they were seeing.

  1. Rulke you still need to edit this post regarding the tribbles.

As all this occurred, Hastur watched, having noticed the Dark Queen had opted to completely vanish, leaving him to watch the chaos. When the blast flew at him, he watched as it attempted to entrap him, but he merely gestured and immediately the shield shattered like glass. Below there was great deal of chaos, so much sabre rattling combined with ego who believed themselves superior. It was rather dull affair, but it was five times more enjoyable than anything else happening in the whole cosmic reality. Nonetheless the arrival of the Invictius seemed to interest him as he peered up, "Finally worthy pieces."

Below the tribbles had started at 100, one been murdered point blank, but they were now 500 tribbles on the ground and being they were carniverous they were attacking anyone nearby as well as eating through the building. Any matter living, material or otherwise was their target. Of course the attempts to kill them and stop them multiplying was doable, but getting them all that was the issue.

Hastur did not doubt for one second though Wing City could not be saved. In fact he somewhat could admire their reseilents despite everything the city goes through on a daily basis.

The sergeant succeeded in defeating his opponent, however since it took him enough energy just to bring her down he could not avoid the two spears flung at him, he smiled under his helmet and spoke. "Emperor preserve me..." and with those words said he was impaled and his life ended on the spot. For the remaining marines, the sight of their sergeant getting killed after doing such a deed inspired the five remaining marines. The remaining marines continued to fight with all they had, their improved vigor allowed them to slip by some of the warriors and drive their weapons through any weak point their eyes could pick up.

On the Bridge, the Sword Brethren that had been stabed through his heart was still surprisingly standing. Unknown to her space marines did not have one heart but two hearts, even if one fails the other can easily keep a marine alive and on his feet. The marine would then bring down his power halberd this time directed at Erna with more speed and it began to exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the halberd.

Renalus chuckled when Calsai taunted him. "She may have, but just to have you know I could have killed her any time I wanted to. I needed a warm up thats why." He taunted back and as he watched as the man tried to plant a kick to his side, he in return would bring his sword to bear against his leg which was now in the air. For the Initiates, when the enemy closed on them, they switched to close combat knifes and rushed the enemy warriors. The Librarian held his Force Staff which began to exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the point of his staff and brung his staff down on the legion warrior that would challenge him.

In the Mists of the chaos, the Gellar Field would short out for less than a nano second, however that nano second was all one figure needed to appear in the ship. A rift opened up in the ship and a Chaos Lord warped inside the Gellar Field room armed with lighting claws and exuded an aura of death and bloodlust. [color=red][font=myriad]"Hello..."Brothers"..." The man spoke with malice in his voice. "Heretic! Warn the Marshal! He must---" Before the marine could finsih the Chaos Lord close in and buried his claws inside the marines chest before ripping him apart in two.

"Marshal! A Chaos Lord Appeared in the Gellar room! Be wa---" A marine speaking through the bridges communications system tried to warn them but before he could finish all they could hear was gurgling blood.

Nine blindingly bright points of light in the sky indicated that it was now time. Ayanna, after being struck by Kinoko's sudden attack, not only lost all the breath in her lungs, but also coughed up a bit of blood. She stumbled back a bit before turning and leaping with all her remaining strength back to the crater and Molnish. She landed in a tumble as the Enhancement spell she had cast dwindled away.

Ekfricai and Drek had been expecting off kilter tactics, they were used to them being employed by the dark gods of the void. Even so, suddenly having to face yourself, and your battle brother, would rattle anyone. Ekfricai, more adept at a defensive stance than his brother, was able to whether the storm with relative ease. Drek however had trouble defending and ended up jumping backwards to land beside Molnish, just to avoid Emily's barrage. "You had better be ready now" he said as he looked up to the mage.

"Actually, I've just finished preparing" Molnish replied. Molnish hovered off the ground, runic sigils glowing and swirling around him in a dozen different circles. His hands were spread apart as he manipulated the streams of energy, which flowed all around him in many dizzying patterns. His staff floated above him, crackling with power. Ekfricai leaped back, holding his shoulder, which had taken a pretty nasty hit from when Emily had been assaulting him in Drek's form.

It was at this point that Ayanna landed beside them. Drek was the first to her side, "Hey, get up warmonger. This isn't done yet." He said in a visibly stressed tone. Ayanna pulled herself up shakily with his help, and looked over to where she had Left Kinoko. "This... Has gone on long enough."

At that moment the orange portals would have opened, and all three of them looked to the newly arriving ships. "My my, this is becoming quite the Gala." Ekfricai said, smiling brightly.
"Shut up." Drek returned at him.
"Molnish we are out of time, you need to cast the spell now. We have to get rid of the abyssal god and then clear this place so the Rook can fortify our position." Ayanna said between heavy breaths.
"Done. Lets begin."

Molnish raised his hands to the air and his staff raised as well. The first sign any would have of the event would be a crackling of energy. Then a massive arcane circle covered the whole of the district as it formed in the air. Above it another circle formed, and then another, and again another. These circles continued to form far into the sky, until it seemed the whole of the atmosphere had been turned into a great ring of runic sigils. At that moment the Rook class ships in high orbit fired their weapons, the concentrated power of nine dwarf stars was blasted through the Arcane circles, and each one the energy passed through changed the energy itself, from a white hot plasma of unbearable heat into raw magical power, which stormed down like thunder from heaven to strike the Staff above Molnish.
The six Paladins originally sent to reinforce Ayanna had shifted their weapons back into the forms of staves. They each raised these into the air, and the thunderous force that wasn't absorbed by Molnish's tool was taken by the Paladins, before it too was refocused into his staff.

Then Ayanna, Ekfricai, and Drek'Thaleen each raised their respective weapons into the air. The power then arced from Molnish's staff to each of their weapons, and using that as the focal point, the spell was cast. Each of the three began to crack and break, their skin erupting as the power flowed into their bodies. From the cracks in their form a pure white light shone through, flooding the area as though each of the three were a sun in and of themselves. A moment later and the spell was completed and three entirely new entities stood in their place.

Image
Ayanna no longer looked as a woman, she no longer even looked alive. Where once had been the aggressive warrior wielding the long blade of blue, there stood what seemed to be a burning creature of blades and spikes and metal. In it's right hand was the long hand and a half sword of blue starsteel that rippled with iridescent light. It's left was empty. It's eyes , if thats what they were, burned with fury unquantifiable. It looked only at Emily.

Image
Wings of silver light, pale and cold, unfolded to reveal the Ascended form of Drek'Thaleen. In his right hand he held his scythe, his left was empty. His body was covered in a cold and lifeless silver armor that shone pale with it's own light. Chains hung from his form, and the air was cold around him.

Ekfricai stepped forward, the earth cracking and rising into the air around him. A fire burned in his arms, and of those he now bore four. Molten light burnished his body that seemed earthen in it's strength. A ring hovered behind him, testamount to his ascension to a godstate. He smiled at emily, burning eyes without pupils giving the impression of merriment.

Thus were the three Warriors of Deyja'Tugal ascended to godhood, albeit Temporarily. Molnish called out to them, still hovering surrounded by arcane circles. "You do not have much time, I will sustain you as long as I can but you must put an end to the void lord while you can!"

The three ascended needed no further encouraging, as all three rushed forward to meet their foe.

------

An archer stationed on a nearby building was scanning the area as events unfolded when he spied upon a pair of humans atop an adjacent building. He called down to his brothers below, four of which immediatly detached and began their climb to the roof to apprehend the offenders.

------

The sorcerers, after channeling energy for so long, had finally completed their task. At last, twelve hulking Golems of Starsteel had been formed. They were all but impervious to physical assault, and magic would only be absorbed by the Starsteel. The ultimate siege weapons were now deployed, and just in time, towards the various fronts throughout the city. Joining them were whole contingents of Legion Warriors, complete with Fyrnskain Captains and Paladin support units. Where as before the forces were only forming a perimeter, now the invasion had begun in earnest.

-------

And then, from high above in the orbit of Terra, a massive, 20 kilometer long ship shaped like an obelisk, began a descent towards the surface. The point of the obelisk shape was aimed for the business district, and the massive vessel fell with the slow assurity of night. Soon it would touch down, within no less than five minutes, and when it did the shockwave would outright destroy the nearest structures, and scatter dust and debris throughout the city. It drew inexorably closer to the surface...

Accompanying the craft were swarms of fighters and bombers, the majority of which directed themselves towards the Invictus fleet. No less than fourteen Knight class ships, each one five kilometers in length, ducked down from the upper atmosphere and began their approach to the Invictus fleet.

Hana, upon receiving help from Lucifer, began moving her arms, her face making expressions of effort being exerted. Slowly, but surely, her arms found her head, pulling it into her body as her severed arm joined it. Her body then dissolved into a mass of pink gelatin like material, thick as a putty, that began floating into the air. The mass reformed itself into Hana in short order, her body free of any prior wounding. She looked as though she hadn't even seen any combat.

"Kee hee hee! Thanks a bunch Mr. Robot Thing!"

She smirked and took off flying again, only this time to Emily's side, landing to the woman's left. "I'm back and better than ever! I've even invented a new game for us!" She beat her chest as she pumped herself up for another fight.

--

Kinoko would utilize Rapid Movement to appear at Emily's right side before one could even snap. Without her armor, she did look woefully under equipped, and rather exposed. However, her anger seemed to be fueling her; as she gritted her teeth, staring down Ayanna, her muscles seemed to grow, enhancing their size beyond what she was at before. Her glow was still prevalent, and she chuckled. "So you're back in one piece, Hana. Good! I'm angry, so let's get them!" Kinoko's feet began sinking into the floor with sheer power. "Mentor! Leave that one with the blue sword to me. She tried to kill Hana, ignoring all else to do so, and no one is allowed to even try and kill my friends without my permission! I WILL DESTROY HER!"

Emily scolded Kinoko at this point. "Kinoko! Calm down! They are at a level where I must take them seriously now. Stay calm and focused so you do not run into any of their attacks. We have only a few minutes left before I will take us back to safety so you can be rearmed to fight their reinforcements."

Hana was giggling uncontrollably as she focused herself, massive amounts of steam ejecting from her head, her arms, and her legs. Her power spiking a small amount. "I'll dump 'em all over! I think I know where their power is coming from, so I'll destroy it!"

--

Seeing the three now before herself and her acolytes, Emily herself smirked, her eyes becoming their black milky hue again. "My acolytes... I am going to use my true form, and thus, all of my power. The transformation can make inferior beings go mad, and it appears horrific to many. Equip the special earrings, those I said were blessed with the Unknown Trinity's power. They will protect you from anything I do. as long as I show no intention to harm you. It will shield your eyes and ears from what I truly look like, a form neither of you are ready to glance at. I will not allow it to harm bystanders if possible however, and will attempt to remain as appealing as possible. So no objections to what I say!"

Upon finishing this warning, and as Kinoko and Hana each equipped the small baubles they had, Emily's mouth began opening as though she was stretching it open to eat something. However, when it continued to open, and began pulling down to the floor, Emily's body began following suit with her hands and her legs also opening in this manner. As her whole body began transforming, it appeared as though she was turning herself inside out.

The process appeared gruesome, and her form began shrouding in a hazy mist that had the composition of blood and dissolving flesh in equal parts. Her form solidified to appear feminine, and she even retained the shapely and curvaceous form her avatar had initially. What ruined the sight was the fact that her body constantly shifted and moved; her body spawned several appendages at regular intervals that would travel across her body to varying distances before being absorbed once more into her form. Aside from her face having two featureless and empty eyes that occasionally glowed with yellow, her bosom, hips, arms, legs, and even back had extra pairs of eyes and mouths, with the side of her torso being one big mouth. Surrounding her at ground level, constant tentacle like growths of flesh served as a sort of ground based travel method. There were too many to accurately count. Her head was still capped by the same Mitre, but it soon dissolved into her as it was replaced by a weird symbol that could not be explained. Her size increased in height slightly, approaching seven feet easily, even if it was likely being suppressed in truth. Any further description was too gruesome and horrific to even be written or recorded, let alone even seen, but it was no lie to say her form was something that should not be seen, or even spoken of, but the end result was a revolting combination of an appealing feminine figure clashed with everything that was wrong and unholy to gaze upon.

--

Finishing the transformation, a swift process that took only seconds, the distorted voice spoke in full.

"You will regret challenging Reflek-She! You have officially forfeited your lives as all others before you have!"

Over her entire form, discharges of a putrid liquid substance would emerged from her as nearby debris and loose rubble began levitating around her. The putrid liquid would quiver as it solidified into fleshy masses that exploded into wisps of energy. Each wisp appeared as a tormented and lightly screeching head in the shape of various races; representing individuals whom were no doubt killed in trying to fight her themselves. The wisps' moaning and wailing began filling the area with an intense pressure and despair that could drive all but the most mentally solid insane if it was heard for too long. The cries were a sickening reflection of her capabilities and her demeanor. As the wisps wailed, they would return to her, only for more to emerge from her form, an endless cycle.

--

Hastur would find a voice contacting him, one belonging to Reflek-She, one delivered via telepathy in a language that only they two could use, for anyone else without the proper measures in place would be driven insane from hearing single words, let alone more. "Somehow, your presence reassures me; do what you will, here, Hastur, I will decline to interfere with you in any way, as I assume you no doubt will decline to interfere with me. Request the change in plans at anytime, for I am open to suggestions from a familiar face."

--

The attractive female figure, as alluring as she was reviling due to all the malformations and abnormalities, took a coy, perhaps girlish, pose as an arm and hand extended from her form, a taunt with a finger goading the three ascended beings to come at her and her acolytes. She then dissolved the hand back into her being, taking on no fighting stance in particular as the waves of appendages that grew out of her base alongside the tentacles crashed over each other over and over again in symbolic ways that weren't at all sane or normal.

The trio seemed ready to truly fight, awaiting their opposition to charge them.

It took a while for Morganovicz to gain his bearings once the Imperium marines had made it planetside, this crude means of planetfall easily came to a shock to his body, mainly due to being stuck in a carrier while being surrounded by the columns of soldiers. There was only one reason why he was happy to be hired by the Imperium, besides knowing that this was needed to heighten the relationships between the Commonwealth and the Imperium, and that was his knowledge of this planet known as Terra. The atmosphere held large quantities of nitrogen, a perfect source of nourishment for the Shaki'lyu race as the symbiotic nitrogen fixing bacteria located in the pseudo-lungs, providing an organic source of nitrogen for the body's metabolic demands. A single deep breath was enough to feel the effects of nourishment, as if he had eaten a large meal. Anyway, Morganovicz was here for a reason, and in order to fulfil his contract, he had to be presented with orders from the leader of this operation.

With the Halberd of Montayzuomah held over his shoulder, the Vladaminsky armour worn over his body, designed to grant direct protection of vital areas of the body such as the chest, groin and joints, while less-vital areas were left bare for sunlight to hit the skin; enabling photosynthesis to take place at all times. As means to prevent damage to the less-armoured areas, a plasma shield was worn on his left arm; when activated, the shield would extend to the size of the body. For now, it was left deactivated for easy movement. It was only a moment since the troops had made it planetside and they had already began their assault in the form of strange gunships, something that was simply cast away as unimportant as the Shaki'lyu irregular made his way through the battlefield in search of the Commisar.

Once he had finally found the familiar uniform of high ranked Imperium soldiers, Morganovicz quickly made his way to stand beside him, giving a small nod towards the guardsman who protected the Commisar. "Yo, leader, I gotta give my thanks to bringing me here. Gave me a reason to get out of the palace, y'know." Morganovicz spoke out, projecting his voice over the sounds of the gunfire in order to be heard, "So what's the plan of action for us? I'm sure you're aware of my Sa'ooayna affinity."

Moments Earlier, in orbit above Terra.
As the Kukri of the gale awaited for their opponents to make their move, the Rook class ship named Echo of Peace made it's decent to Terra. The pillars that had been reassigned to the Station were returned, and they followed the Echo of Peace into the upper atmosphere as the twenty kilometer long ship began a controlled fall to the planets surface.

Outside the warp negation fields, what seemed to be an electrical field began distorting time and space. From this field no less than two dozen Knight class ships, and one Bishop class, warped into the theater. The bishop and ten of the knights immediately began making their way to reinforce the station, while they had the opening. The remaining fourteen Knight class ships opened their afterburners and rushed to reinforce the Echo of Peace.

The Bishop sent a transmission to the Kukri of the Gale. "This is Konugr Avurn, residing over the Rose Thicket. We have come as requested, and are at your command, Konugr Dura." A strong voiced man stood in uniform aboard the bridge of the Rose Thicket as he addressed Konugr Dura.
"Fortha Solskain, Konugr Avurn."
"Fortha Solskain."
"The enemy opened rifts of some sort and their vessels passed through them. I believe it to be some form of teleportation, and activated warp negation fields to prevent them from transporting to my side, which is what I believe they intend."
"Then we shall take the opportunity to deploy so when, if, they return, they will find a storm beyond their capacity to weather."
"As you will."

The Rose Thicket continued it's approach, positioning itself above the Command dome of the Kukri of the Gale. Upon arriving it would begin to open up, as though it were a flower. Each of the long 'petals' of the ship opened up further and further, until a massive structure almost like that of a snowflake, hovered above the station. Then from the surface of the opened bishop, billions upon billions more drones swarmed into the air, choking the space with their presence, until all that could be seen from the outset was a cloud that shifted and swarmed, covering the whole of the area closest to the station.

----

Aboard the Remembrance
With the Sergeant defeated, the Legion Warriors would push to mop up the remaining marines. Even as skilled as they are, several had not survived the encounter. What had begun as a force of twenty had quickly dwindled to a twelve over the course of the fighting. And with fyrnskain Amelia taken out, those dozen no longer had a captain. After they cleaned the marine, assuming they were able, they would set about following the last orders given to them. Three of the warriors took their shields and cast spells over them, before placing them in strategic locations throughout the core room. Then they rallied together, those without shields taking new ones from their fallen brothers, and then they made their way to rendezvous with the team at the bridge. As the living departed the room, the dead departed as well, their bodies igniting into iridescent flames that shifted all along the visible spectrum. The bodies did not appear to burn so much as fade, until there was no trace of their presence at all. But without an soul stone or shard to return to, the energy was trapped aboard the ship, as were the consciousness of those warriors who had perished.

Aboard the bridge the battle continued. Erna was taken by suprise when her attack didn't kill the soldier, but instinct took over and she rolled away from his halberd. She had no idea what that blue energy was, but training had taught her that it was better avoid what you couldn't identify then take the chance. Having moved as quickly as she had her blade had been left behind in the soldiers chest, and without her magic she wasn't exactly able to do much at the moment. The three nearby warriors who had set up their shields were busy dealing with their own opponents, the only spare weapon she had was a small dagger. Nevertheless she drew it and awaited her foe to approach. Morthen at this point became aware of what was happening, and he quickly flipped his gun over his shoulder and would proceed to fire, point blank range, the sunspear weapon at the marine who had come behind him.

Calsai meanwhile used his kick to push himself off of the Marshal, coming to roll back to his feet. He then charged at Renalus, his blade dragging along the ground, parting it as thought it were water. With all his force he would swing an uppercut meant to cut the Marshal in two. The Warrior to challenge the Librarian lifted his shield to block the attack, then recoiled by shoving the shield against the weapon to throw his opponent off balance. The starsteel used to make the equipment of the warriors was enchanted and inscribed with a blanket of magic constructs and wards that were specific to each piece's purpose. For the shield, they were constructs of reinforcement and strengthening, as well as wards against weakness and dismantling. If not for these embedded magical traits, then whatever spell coated the Librarians staff, if it were the same used against Amelia, would have turned the material to liquid. As it stood, the runic sigils glowed along the shields rim, and the starsteel absorbed whatever energy came in contact with it. The warrior in question treated his opponent with no more mercy then they would any other, and proceeded to attack him with relentless strikes.

The assault by the gunships scattered the ranks of Warriors, but the fyrnskain among them continued their stride as the bullets ricocheted off their armor. They started charging forward, shoulder first, at the opponents to show themselves while the remaining warriors rallied. Once they had gathered together, the warriors raised their shields to defend against the Gunships while several took their spears and threw them into the air. Once they were airborne the hafts of the spears ignited and burned like the exhaust froma rocket, driving the blades towards and into the gunships. While in flight the surface of the blade was incited and turned to a plasma state that would melt through all but the thickest armor. Finally, if the spears were able to hit their targets, the inertia of the flare, combined with the plasmafied surface, would burrow them into the gunships, where they would explode and riddle the interior with molten shrapnel.

Even if they did manage to take out the gunships, the quickly surrounded warriors would be overwhelmed by the infantry forces deployed against them, fifty or so would manage to reform the shield wall. The shields, enchanted as they were, would be impervious to the gunfire, and as they were made of starsteel, the unique properties of the material would absorb the heat and energy of the plasma with ease. Short of anti tank weaponry, the shield wall would be an impenetrable defense, and the warriors would be able to hold until reinforcements came.

Several wormholes opened high up in the sky directly above the city, each glowing and swirling with orange energy. Crackling with artificial lightning. They were distracting to say the least, even more distracting were the ships that left them. They seemed to vary in size, dozens of them were extremely large and cast a shadow over the city.

Manhole covers stealthily opened all around the street near the troops marching through, gloved hands rolling beeping cylinders out amongst the foreign invaders before retreating back into the sewer system.

Seconds later the cylinders would explode, sending out an ungodly amount of fire and shrapnel deep into the ranks of the soldiers. But, instead of continuing to expand the explosions would pause, still burning all those that were caught it in.

And then suddenly they would implode, pulling in all those caught in the initial blasts and turning them into charred balls of gore if they were unlucky enough.

Lucifer heaved a mechanical sigh of relief at Hana's recovery. However as he turned back to observe the crater, it was clear things were escalating even further. He knew he couldn't compete with any of the forces being unleashed below. He resigned himself to fleeing this conflict after another examination of the area.

It didn't take long for his mechanical eyes to spot the news crew atop one of the distant buildings. If anything he could at least get them out of danger. Thankfully his energy reserves were holding and so he took off, flying towards Clair and her cameraman. He didn't know about the soldiers also climbing the building towards them, though with his flight speed, it was likely he could get there before them.

Marching in their tight formations as they were, entire swaths of the soldiers were taken out in that single attack. The charred ball of gore however began to burn with an iridescent flame as the soldiers bodies ignited and began the process of resurrection. The stealth of the attack made it difficult to determine it's origin point, and so the majority of the soldiers broke into the nearby buildings and fortified them against attack. Those that didn't manage like such formed into shield rings, every warrior covering their brothers and sisters from all directions and above.

The archers atop the roofs were of keener sight then the warriors, and they had noticed the manhole covers moving. Though they had not been capable of stopping the attack, the open manholes became prime targets. Dozens of arrows crackling red with energy were fired into the manholes, and each one of the arrows exploded like a ballistic missile, filling the sewers with arcane napalm that would attach to all solid materials and burn with magmatic heat until it no longer had a surface to burn on.

The remaining marines, despite how skilled they were were no mach for the enemy numbers. Even when their bodies were peiced for slashed they would try one last assault before falling down as lifeless corpses. The core room was now left unguarded, and the warrior would easily proceed to complete their mission.

Aboard the ship, the Sword Brethran would have followed Erna if it went for the sound of a weapon aimed at him. It was point blank range, there no way the marine could dodge the attack with his body but the man seemed to forget one important thing. And that was the marines teleportation. The marine vanished like a bolt of lightning, only to reappear behind the side of Morthen with his halberd glowing and already in mid-swing.

Renalus heard the bone chilling communications his fellow brother had tried to give him, however the enemy seemed to ignore the threat. Of course, they never faced them before. However his thoughts focused on the opponent in front of him when he would attempt to cleave him with an uppercut, however he would then counter this poweful move with a shield bash with his Storm Shield to counter this attack. The Shield began to glow blue just like their weapons.

For the Librarian, he was knocked off balance but recovered easily. However the warrior in front of him would take this opportunity to attack with relentless strikes. The Librarian knew he could use only two more spells before the one after the two would attract demon threats which would be the end for them and their small crew, so with one spell he would destroy this warrior and continue his brutal assault. He would channel the Might of the Ancients, his eye lens would then glow a bright white and his body would emit a white aura. The man would throw one punch at the side of the mans shield, his power suddenly felt inhuman, if the warrior could hold onto his shield he would surely feel the bones in his arm shatter into pieces, however he would not unleash just one punch, he would unleash a flurry of inhumanly strong punches capable of shattering his armor or at the very least cause the force behind the punches to break the mans bones.

Meanwhile in the Gellar Field room, the 20 marines sent to guard it were reduced to two, one sergeant and one marine. "Whats wrong Brothers!? To weak to beat me!? I shall show you the true power of the dark gods compared to your corpse on a throne!" The Chaos Lord spoke and his words angered the marine. "Die heretic!" The marine charged with with his chainsword revved and ready, the sergeant tried to stop him but it was far to late. The moment the marine stepped forward the Chaos Lord would appear right in front of him and separate his head from his body with as much effort to break a twig. The sergeant armed with his power sword got ready for the monsters assault, however the Chaos Lord would vanish in a plume of red smoke and re-appear behind him along with a flurry of stabs from his lightning claws sending blood and armor pieces flying everywhere like he did to the other 19 marines. "Pathetic...I hardly need any help if this is what these pathetic weaklings can offer up. The Marshal of the ship must be on the bridge...and that Librarian as well...I will see to it that their skulls get added to my collection." The figure spoke as he put his hand on the device for the Gellar Field and strengthened it to ensure nothing interrupted his blood lust.

The Gunships in the air would notice the spears throne at them, however thanks to their VTOL like design instead of having to maneuver to the side or speed up all the had to do was easily fly up or down and avoid the spear throne at them. Some gunships to focused on avoiding other hostiles were hit by these spears causing the occupants inside the ship to be killed and crash into buildings or the streets below.

For the Guardsman below, they would see that their weapons were having no effect on the shields. Some soldiers armed with grenade launchers would step in and begin chucking grenades at the enemy fortification. Heavy weapon teams lugging around Las-cannons, would set up behind reinforced positions and take a well placed shot at the soldiers behind the shield, these las-cannons fired shots of coherent light, designed to destroy tanks or other armored opponents.

Meanwhile behind his lines, Cain would noticed Morganovicz the mercanary the Imperium had hired to improve Imperium and Commonwealth relationships. "Straight to the point. Alright here is whats going on, the enemy soldiers seem to posses incredibly strong shields meaning anti-tank weapons or flanking them to the side would be the most appropriate way to take them out. Right now enemy ships from orbit have made planet fall and we have located one such ship landing in this city. You will be tasked to advanced with the regiment and eliminate all enemy soldiers and structures you find along the way. You may work along or along with one of the elite forces and breach this ship, destroying it would be dangerous so I want you and like everyone else her to breach the ship, eliminate all personal on board, and destroy all essential systems allowing it to function. That is the briefing, so good luck out there." the Commissar would nod in the direction of Morganovicz and continue behind the forces of tanks.

"Incoming." One of the Invictus soldiers said, "Back to the tunnels." Another ordered, the soldiers fleeing towards passageways built into the sewer system. The were arrows moved too fast for them to shut the manhole covers and avoid them, abandoning the scene was the only way to survive.

"Hurry!" A soldier shouted from a tunnel entrance, watching as the last of the soldiers sprinted towards him. The arrows hit their mark and exploded, "Just go, we won't get to you in time."

The otherworldly fire closed in on them quickly. It was with a heavy heart that the Invictus soldiers closed up the passageways, allowing their remaining comrades to be burned out of existence in the sewer.

"They're gone, Packmaster." One of the soldiers informed their leader, a young fair-skinned man donning nearly skintight black armor. The rest of his team were dressed identically, all of them armed to the teeth. Walking armories. Which they needed to be. What was happening in the streets above them was a war.

"They had snipers, right?" The Packmaster asked, "Usually when dealing with snipers we bring down their position, but there could be people still inside. And we can't just blow up a building." He continued, "Let's get up to the street and do some recon. Find a way up to them without being seen."

"Move out." He ordered, he and the soldiers scattering throughout the passageways in search of better positions on the surface.
