Name Basil Granger
Age 52
Occupation Surgeon
Appearance A reasonably tall man. He has the build of boxer withered by time and a slight hunch from his work as a surgeon. He proudly sports a fat, white beard and a full head of hair. He appears to have been exceptionally handsome in his youth and unfortunately knows it.He always wears finely tailor suits, preferring to wear rich fabrics in dark colours and always has his pipe and a box of snuff. He always proudly walks around with a black laquer walking stick with a ivory handle made "to perfectly fit the form of my hands" although not because he needs support but rather he likes the look of them.
Personality Basil is the personification of a Victorian man. Strict in his Catholic views and proud of his status as head of his household and family. He can be extremely blunt and proud, such as his obvious lack of tact when speaking of his family when he lingers on the achievements of his only son John and simply glossing over his daughter's existence. He is also very proud and nostalgic of his youth as a boxer and takes great pride in his physical fitness despite his old age. Basil lives under the presumption that he is always right and it has always been impossible to change his mind, if he ever is wrong you will never hear an apology.
History Basil's wife, Irene, recently passed away leaving Basil alone with his daughters. He has three children, 20 year old twin daughters Mary and Elizabeth and his son John who is 30 and Basil's favourite child. He is a highly skilled surgeon however with the death of his wife and growing years his work has become sloppy at best so he has retired to what he considers the luxuriously lazy life of an aristocrat. A mixture of his boasting and lack of tact have left Basil with little friends, he is blind to the fact his own son doesn't like him and that his daughters actually worry about him.
Currently his household is practically empty. After his wife's death he fired all of his hired help and his only employee is his maid Isabella Turnio. He lets his daughters cook sometimes however he does not pay much attention to the household unless it is to criticize something Isabella has or has not done.
