He loves his job and working with the people he works with. He likes security and knowing that he's safe. He likes being able to trust people. He likes being surrounded by people he likes. He loves tea. He likes eating healthy and keeping his body in decent shape.
Dislikes: He doesn't like feeling scared or threatened in any way. He doesn't like fast food- it's not that it's unhealthy, it's the taste. He hates traitors and liars. People who intentionally make others feel uncomfortable disgust him. He hates storms as they make him nervous. He hates being reminded that he's almost alone in this world.

He's not exactly a coward, but he's no hero either.
He finds it difficult to multi-task.

On the rare occasion that he gets sick, he gets very sick.
Personality: Ollie is one of those people that it is fantastic to be around. He's got an incredible energy, and always seems to have a grin on his face. He never appears to be still. He's always tapping his fingers against the counter as he waits for a result, or comparing samples while he waits for an experiment. He usually has a joke of some kind up his sleeve. He's incredibly sweet, and appreciates every single gesture that somebody does for him. He likes to do random acts of kindness, and is the type to buy coffee for a homeless person or help a mother carry her bags out to the car. He never forgets a birthday or an anniversary, and will always turn up at their door with a thoughtful present. He'll also arrange a cake for his co-workers and insist on them blowing out the candles and making a wish. He believes in all kinds of wishes and similar traditions. He's the type of friend who you wouldn't hesitate to call up at three AM for comfort- as long as it was on his days off. He has a naturally comforting presence. He's the type of guy to put a girl to bed and never dream of taking advantage of her.
However, Ollie is far from perfect. His energy is often partially nervous energy. He's not the best at talking to people. He gets nervous quite easily, and he's not the best at hiding it. He's not a hero. If he saw a burning building, he would call 911, but he wouldn't rush in to save a crying baby. He sleeps in his lab because he can control the security and knows that nobody can get in unless he lets them. He's also quite passive- if a drunken asshole called him a jerk and started pushing him around for no reason, Ollie would probably apologise for nothing and do nothing about it.
History: Ollie grew up in a loving home. He was the youngest of two and the only son. His older sister was five years older than him, and she was jealous of him from the moment he was born. Everyone doted on little Oliver, and forgot about her. Even when they got over the adorable baby stage and started paying equal attention to both of them, she felt like she was the lesser liked child. She grew up with a grudge against him.
It didn't help that Ollie was such an intelligent child either. He was the kid who had all of the science kits, who watched all of the documentaries and who even wore the dorky jumpers. But he had friends and was happy. She was getting bullied. It kept building and building until their teenage years. They were on holidays and visited a lake. He was talking excitedly about a science project his teacher had told him they were going to be doing next term. She got annoyed. He "tripped" and found himself in the lake. He had never learned to swim, and in his panic ended up in deeper waters. He almost drowned, and as a result, was left with a permanent fear of large bodies of water. His sister was also brought for psychological assessment.
Ollie first encountered trouble in high school. Someone decided that they didn't like him and decided to make his life hell for the next three years. It wasn't everyone- he even got invited to a few parties in his freshman year. However, his bully was always there, making Ollie feel self conscious and often humiliating him. Ollie's popularity dropped, reaching it's climax at the start of his junior year when his bully proudly announced that Ollie's sister was a psychopath. Ollie hit his low point then, often coming home from school and spending hours in his room, crying and wishing that things were different. He contemplated suicide at times, but could never bring himself to it. He dragged himself to school every day, turned in his homework, kept his grades up, kept a smile on his face for the teachers, ate lunch alone and hid in the bathrooms to escape his bully. It ended when Ollie was physically beaten up towards the end of his junior year.
His senior year was when things started to improve. He was able to be happy again. The rumours had died out. He got his first girlfriend and was able to start making friends again. He graduated with flying colours and went into his degree.
It was when he started working, however, that things got bad again. Ollie's first case was a burglary. His second was a vicious murder. It was when Ollie got the news that his parents had been killed by the very person his team was working to find. Ollie asked to be taken off the case. The murder took place in his family home, and he found himself unable to go back there. He stayed in a motel, even when the police told him he could go back. He ended up selling the house and using the money to buy his own apartment. However, it hit him hard and he found himself struggling to cope at times. His supervisor offered an unlikely source of comfort, and helped Ollie get back on his feet. The two grew unusually close. Ollie became the person he used to be once again, and found himself thriving in the job.
However, the murder taking place only two floors above him frightened him, and he found himself jumping at the slightest noise. He wasn't sleeping, so decided to sleep in the lab. The night shift had their own dedicated labs, so he wasn't in any fear of anyone finding him during the day.
Other: Even though he's a lab worker, he's allowed to carry a gun and has been keeping it with him since the murders started.
You Are Not || Young Guns
Lonely, lonely, undefined
You say you take your time,
I say you hide away
Lonely, lonely hard to shine
When they don't notice you at all
Sink further every day
You're only so lonely
And I never had a doubt,
You don't even know me
Still you pass your judgement out
When you belong
You're just a face in the crowd,
You're only lonely so lonely, like everybody else
Lonely, lonely, little fly
You say they pay you no mind
I say there's a better way
You hang yourself in your web
Drawn and quartered out
The more you hurt
The more you heal,
The more you'll figure out
You're only so lonely
And I never had a doubt,
You don't even know me
Still you pass your judgement out
When you belong
You're just a face in the crowd,
You're only lonely so lonely, like everybody else
You are not a diamond,
You are not a shining star
Doesn't mean that you're not perfect
Exactly as you are
You're only so lonely
And I never had a doubt,
You don't even know me
Still you pass your judgement out
When you belong
You're just a face in the crowd,
You're only lonely so lonely, like everybody else
You are not a diamond,
You are not a shining star
Doesn't mean that you're not perfect
Exactly as you are
