Luca Martin Feygor

Theme 2 Music

Gender::
Male

Age::
17

Rank::
Noble

Sexuality::
Heterosexual

Appearance::
Like his rank suggests, Luca is a noble and has the rugged charm to go along with it. Standing relatively tall (180 cm) and well built, Luca has a sublime presence matched by his river blue eyes. Young, yet somewhat rough, his messy black hair and sharp features lend well to his animated expressions. Luca can look good in anything, although he rarely makes the effort to do so. Frequently caught wearing casual clothes, Luca is a master of disguise and blends in well with any setting.

Personality::
Luca is nothing but an image, an aspiration. Cheerful, kind and somewhat mischievous, this is the faƧade Luca presents at all times. In this fashion, Luca often appears to be insincere as he glosses over comments or replies with a snide remark. Never one to remain silent, Luca isnā€™t shy either. He is obtrusive yet secretive, jovial yet sly.

Luca is smart also, his ability to analyse and calculate situations has stunned even some of the best scholars in the academy. Yet behind the courteous smiles and tomfoolery lies a sinister, subtle existence. Luca's emotions are like a fine wire, in a snap his personality can go from cheerful to intimidating. Nothing pronounced like the rage of a psychotic, but rather like the suffocating atmosphere of looking into a mirror. Luca has an ethical code of sorts, defined by his strong albeit flawed, sense of justice. This is abolished the moment Luca snaps. As his mood changes, so to does his actions. Luca's mind has never fully recovered since the incident from his 9th birthday and he is still deeply troubled by it. Perhaps the most frightening part of Lucaā€™s personality though is his resolve. That he would stop at nothing to achieve his mission or goals.

Skills::
Information & data gathering - A result of his amazing memory and his attention to detail.
Mixture of street fighting & martial arts - Contrary to his charming nature, Luca was quite the delinquent. He has a keen sense of handling himself in close combat ever since his dad, an ex-soldier, began beating him. The real truth behind his strength lies in his ability to adapt. It's uncertain when this began but for a long time now Luca has been purposefully using Blue Horror's sensory abilities on himself to train and heighten his own sensory thresholds. However, if possible, Luca always attempts to resolve conflicts diplomatically first.
Cooking - Having taken up cooking for his grandparents, Luca has become quite the masterchef.

Clothing Design, Boxing

Name of Bond::
Blue Horror

Race of Bond::
Demon - Vassago

Personality of Bond::
Blue horror is an enigma, a disturbing existence that shouldnā€™t exist by all rights. His relationship with Luca seems to be purely based on mutual necessity rather than the typical bond shared between humans and their Bonds. The Blue horror is a demon, or perhaps it is a mythological creature. Barely humanoid, it is a mass of rippling, blue tinged flesh with a chaotic mixture of limbs of various sizes. He wears runic red robes which seem to writh with a life of their own, swirling freely and openly, its very presence seems to warp reality around it. Preferring to travel alone, Luca is rarely seen with his Bond. Indeed, many often assume that his bond was simply killed. Luca hides the Blue Horror's presence at all times and keeps its true form a secret in public. Whether this is because Luca doesn't want to scare people or simply doesn't want to deal with the trouble of revealing the Blue horror's terrifying form is unknown. If necessary he simply covers his Bond in another set of heavy robes to hide its disquieting appearance.

Blue horror stands a good head taller than most humans (235 cm). It is an insidious creature whose form is born from the things of nightmares. Ironically, in contrast to its appearance, the Blue Horror is highly intelligent and if anything, much more honest and open than Luca. The Blue horror has an excessive appetite for learning and spends most of its time reading.

Skills of Bond::
Teleportation - Has a limited range of 100m, useful for getting to class if running late. It's not a traditional teleporting, but rather, Luca or the Blue horror must swap positions with inanimate objects they've come into contact with before, although Blue has much more freedom over this ability that Luca.
Gluttony ā€“ For brief periods of time, Blue Horror can choose to enhance or rob a being of up to 2 of its senses. These include touch, hearing, taste, smell, sight, balance and acceleration (vestibular system), pain (noniception), thermoception, kinesthetic sense (proprioception) and time (chronoception).

History::
Itā€™s perhaps prudent to say that life has been less than kind to Luca. Born in Kuttailec, Luca had a family of four, consisting of his mother, father and an older sister. Lucaā€™s father was an abusive and arrogant retired soldier who frequently took to beating Lucaā€™s mother. For the young boy, Luca was four when the beatings first began. Initially it was the bruises which first piqued his curiosity, but one night he witnessed the act first hand. It was a simple mistake to be honest. Stumbling out of bed, groggy, yet desperate to reach the toilet at the end of the hallway, Luca raced out of his room in the middle of the night. It was then that a quiet whimper caught his attention.

Downstairs, in the lounge room, there was the sound of struggling and a clatter of silverware. Investigating the source of the noise, Luca discovered his father beating his mother for the very first time. Luca was horrified at first. Seeing the anguished face of his mother, something dark and sinister grew within him. It was a seething, bubbling rage which no child should have been capable of exhibiting. Luca stormed in, interrupting his father and offering himself up in exchange. From there, Luca was punished severely. His father chided Lucaā€™s naivety and weakness and beat him till he was bloody.

Things would remain the same until his 9th birthday. Luca shared a close relationship with his older sister. She, more than his mother, was an inspiration to him because of her intellect and kindness. Luca had been beaten by his father ever since he was four but surprisingly this remained a secret between the two. The discovery was made on his 9th birthday. Confronting their father, Lucaā€™s sister intervened and made a formal protest. Their fatherā€™s response was simply a violent and immediate slap. Lucaā€™s pent up rage over the past five years finally caught up to him. The years of anger, hate and abuse he wanted to throw back exploded as he took up a knife and lunged forwards murderously.

Lucaā€™s sister ended up stopping him, but it was she, instead of his father who was stabbed instead. Realising what he'd done, something snapped within Luca that day. The sense that nothing else mattered overcame all thoughts and all that remained was death. The true extents of the entire event are shrouded in mystery, especially with concerns to what happened afterwards. When the police arrived to investigate, they discovered the gruesome scene and a terrified kid all alone. Nothing else, not even the the parent's and sister's Bonds had survived intact. In the end the entire incident was wrapped up as a break-in robbery. The truth of what occurred was never discovered and neither where Luca's sins. Afterwards, Luca was adopted by his grandparents. An ex-general and ex-lawyer who sympathised with his situation and vowed to look after him in his parentā€™s stead. So began his life as a noble.

Once again he made her flustered. Her cheeks were bright red as she struggled to reply to him. How the hell did he do it so easily? She thought to herself in amazement. Her eyes flicked to Erin as he turned down the hall, only then did she catch the small smile on his lips as he disappeared around the end of the hall. Nemesis was looking up at his bond with the same look on his black sleek face. Obviously the boy and his bond had been discussing something and Rue had a feeling it had been about her.

Her hands felt warm as she realized that Luca was holding them and she returned her attention to him. Her heart had been racing and her thoughts on how well he'd come up with an immediate response that she hadn't noticed his taking hold of her fingers until just then. His lips pulled into a smile as he spoke to her, concluding that she was right and apologizing for making her wait. His hands reached out and tapped her cheeks gently flooding her with a strange twisting in her stomach and only able to stare up at him in awe.

"But you should cheer up also, your smile is much more beautiful than your frown. Shall we then?"

Her heart skipped a beat and she looked down then feeling helpless to keep the smile from her lips when he said to do so. After a moment she looked up and gave him a nod, the smile still there. Taking his hand she led him down the hall and followed where her brother had gone, though a lady in a white coat was ahead of them as she'd been waiting for Luca apparently. It was another nurse.

Once in the infirmary again, Rue met the woman whom she'd escaped from to begin with and the lady only frowned at her in disappointment before leading her back to her own bed. She had to wait for Luca to be treated before he was allowed to sleep, but he was on the bed next to hers and she looked away quickly as they began tending to him.

"My my, what a body that boy has," Snow remarked as the bird flew about the room.

"You have too much energy," Rue muttered as she struggled to keep her eyes the other way though she did turn and took a quick look before looking away again. Her face a brilliant red from doing so, however.

"Just as I thought. You thought so too."

"Whatever, Snow...." she muttered, pulling the covers up to her nose as she stared at the white wall across the room.

"Thank you," he told the nurse that finished fixing up his battered chest and gave him some medicine to take for the pain. He was grateful and took a couple with a cup of water. Afterwards, he pulled his shirt back on and left the infirmary, his stomach leading him to the cafeteria.

"So, you think he'll be good for her?" Nemesis asked as he padded behind his human bond. Each step was a bit jarring, but the dire wolf healed very quickly, so his earlier injury across his shoulder and rib cage was nothing more than just an annoying bruise.

"Yeah, he is. I don't think he'll let anything happen to her." Erin replied with a slight grin. His earlier reaction was a true one, though the last part was half done just to tease her as he walked away, giving his sister and her boyfriend time alone. He was more than happy to see her talking with the boy just as much as she would talk to him. Never had he seen her so determined or heard her voice her thoughts so openly before. Luca had something about him that just got her all riled up and it was quite fun to watch.

Erin walked into the cafeteria, ordered a plate of chicken and a couple of bones for Nemesis. Once he received the food he went and found a place to sit. Across the way, he spotted the president sitting at a table looking pale and in shock. Raising an eyebrow, he watched the young boy and his bond for a moment before decided to go and see what had him so white. Getting up, he groaned slightly, took another piece of chicken and popped it in his mouth as he walked over.

"Hey, pres. What's wrong?" Erin asked as he took a seat across from Aslan and waited for his reply.

Luca grinned as he admired her reaction, giggling slightly as Rue looked down then up at him, a sweet smile creasing her supple lips in reply to his earlier suggestion. As he looked he could tell her determination still remained, the sharpness to her green eyes losing none of its edge.

Blue Horror had already slipped away in the ongoing conversation, the demon melding back into the shadows before fading away without a trace. Luca could only sigh in relief as he saw this, glad that the bondā€™s presence would no longer weigh on his mind for the moment at least. He followed Rue back into the infirmary, marvelling at the softness of her hands they followed after the footsteps of her brother. Arriving at a doorway and a sign which clearly indicated infirmary overhead, they were immediately greeted by a disgruntled nurse who was tapping her feet against the floor in apparent impatience.

He looked towards Rue, his eyes falling on her hand as he wondered if sheā€™d allow him to be inspected without interruption. Fortunately, she relented, another nurse taking her to her own bed adjacent to his own. Luca was drawn back to his designated bed for inspection, whereupon he was kindly asked to describe the symptoms of his pain. He repeated his earlier statement and removed his shirt and jumper, pulling the cloth off his shoulders. A deep blue and purple bruise coursed its way over the side of chest, leaving the area under his left arm feeling raw and tender.

ā€œYouā€™re lucky nothing else was injured,ā€ the nurse said at last, her pen working diligently to write down her observations on her clipboard. ā€œItā€™s important to practice taking deep breaths. The rib will heal on its own, given time. Weā€™ll prescribe you with some pain medication to keep the pain under control. Other than that, rest well,ā€ she concluded with a small smile before getting up to leave.

Luca nodded in confirmation, pulling his shirt back over his arms. He waited until she closed the curtains around him before slipping out silently. Luca fell into Rueā€™s bed without waiting for her consent, no doubt startling the girl, but as his head hit her pillow his weary eyes had already fallen shut.

ā€œHmmm? That defiance from earlier has tempered a little. You made me afraid that you werenā€™t even going to allow me to be inspected alone,ā€ Luca mumbled, wrapping his arms around her like a teddy bear and enjoying her fresh scent, ā€œThank you for helping me earlier though.ā€

Someone dressed as a nurse came in and sat next to her bed while Luca was being tended to. He dropped off a large amount of food next to her while smiling and spoke to her. He talked about a boy named Walker and how the young man had wanted to apologize to her about the incident in the woods. Lifting an eyebrow she pulled the covers down from her face and looked up at the man. His face looked strikingly familiar, but she couldn't place it.

"My brother will always protect me," she stated firmly without blinking. After a moment she bit her lip and then turned to the nurse, "But, I think I can accept his apology. Erin is going to be harder to win over," she mumbled the last part. Then the nurse left her and she lay on the bed alone thinking about the events that had happened. She had been startled when Walker had come out to attack Luca, so she wasn't so sure if she could forgive the boy for that. However, Erin did have a tendency to over do it when he was protecting her. In fact, she could go as far as saying he was overly protective and it was sometime suffocating for her. Rue knew his heart was in the right place though, so she tried not to let it bother her.

A heavy body dropped down into the bed next to her and she gave a slight squeak of fear and embarrassment as she realized it was Luca.

ā€œHmmm? That defiance from earlier has tempered a little. You made me afraid that you werenā€™t even going to allow me to be inspected alone. Thank you for helping me earlier though.ā€

"Remember, this is punishment," she said to him, though her voice had long since lost it's edge. Then she blushed as she bit her lip and continued, "I didn't do anything," she muttered, though she knew what it was he was thanking her for. She didn't think it was much, Rue had just acted rather than thought. To her, if anyone should be thanking someone, it should have been her thanking him. He'd done more for her than anyone, even if he wasn't aware of it.

She wiggled around in his arms as he held her, careful not to hurt him too much with her movements. Finally, she was facing him, her head right against his chest and she breathed deeply. He smelled... good, very appealing. She couldn't place the scent but it was enticing. Her fingers stretched out across his chest as her arms were crushed between them. She could feel every muscle in his lithe frame, only then did she realize how very tiny she was compared to him. His arms wrapped around her could have easily swallowed her whole. Slowly her own eyes began to fall closed, heavy with weariness. That is, until she remembered what Blue had said to her and her heart did a jump and she was awake instantly.

Moving her head slightly, she looked up at his face and wondered if he was asleep. She didn't even know if she should bother him with what Blue had said. Maybe the demon was just testing her, or making a joke. Her skin chilled and she shuddered slightly. Though, to her, it didn't seem all that much a joke. She bit her lip then opened her mouth to speak, "Luca," she whispered, "Blue said something... strange earlier to me." She started slowly, unsure of how to proceed, not even sure if he was awake, "He told me to 'consider if he didn't want me to see you, how would I out run something that could teleport?'. What did he mean?"

Erin Tyryl

A tiny little ball of fur bustled up to him as he was waiting for Aslan to snap out of his shock. Erin was becoming a little nervous just watching the boy. The bunny hopped next to him and started talking, startling him somewhat. It was rare for a bond to talk aloud, at least for him. Nemesis never said anything aloud for as long as he'd known him. The dire wolf was all growls, barks and howls as far as Erin was concerned. Next to him, the wolf bristled slightly, recognizing the bond and who it belonged to.

"Hey, Erin, I'm sorry about Walker's actions, he's got a code he sticks to, and I can't really do much about that."

He lifted an eyebrow as he reached over and patted Nemesis' head. Slowly the wolfs fur relaxed and he was once again the sleek bundle of muscle and fur. With a shrug Erin answered the little bond, "Sorry, but it'll take more than a cute little bunny to turn my thoughts around towards the guy. So long as he stays away from Rue, I won't have any problems with him," his eyes shifted to look back at the fluffy bond, "though, you are pretty cute and adorable. Rue would probably love you."

Nemesis growled next to him reminding him of who's bond he was talking to. With a cough, he glared at the dire wolf and then turned back to the bunny, "Anyway, thanks for that. But just keep him away from my sister, alright?" He reached over and gently patted the bond's head before turning his attention back to Aslan.

Luca M. Feygor

"Remember, this is punishment,ā€

Luca hardly needed to open his eyes to picture her blushing cheeks as she said this. He smiled gingerly as her mumbling continued, only to trail of silently as she finished her sentence, ā€I didn't do anything,"

Those honest words of hers only made his smile widen, reminding him of his own sister. He could feel her tiny frame wriggling around softly between his arms as she shifted around to face him. Offering no resistance as she re-adjusted her slender body, he continued savouring her scent, reminded of the sparkling purity of morning dew lightly sprinkled across green meadows in the morning. Abruptly, he could feel her eyes gazing upon him, those penetrating eyes which looked as if they could see through him entirely.

"Luca," her hushed voice followed, waking him. Casting aside his fatigue, he looked down at her again. Immediately his vision became filled with an overwhelming picture of white and for a moment Luca wondered if heā€™d become colour blind. The combination of her glistening of locks, the white sheets and her pale complexion drew him towards her firm eyes instinctively.

"Blue said something... strange earlier to me,ā€ She hesitated, clearly troubled by her thoughts, but not as much as Luca. The mere mentioning of his bondā€™s name made his tired mind race back into life. His own expression froze as his entire body seemed to stiffen in apprehension.

"He told me to 'consider if he didn't want me to see you, how would I out run something that could teleport?'. What did he mean?"

The sentence was twisted but he understood the meaning immediately. If anything it was a statement reminding him of his own sins. Luca leaned back and pushed himself upwards, relinquishing the comforting warmth of her body as he carefully forced himself off her.

ā€œAre you sure you want to know?ā€ He asked at first, although each word felt heavy as he lifted it from his lips, ā€œBlueā€™s message was likely said more in regards to me than you. If itā€™s a part of my promise to you, Iā€™ll explain. But, you have to choose. If you want an answer, Iā€™ll return to my own bed after explaining. If not, Iā€™ll remain here.ā€

She lay still in the position he'd left her in, her heart in her throat. His voice was heavy, obviously something bothered him, something he didn't want to think about at all. Rue stayed silent for a little while, thinking about what he'd said. After a moment, she slowly sat up and ran her fingers up his back then over his shoulder as she leaned on him, her lips pulled into a pout and her eyes showing her sorrow.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up anything you didn't want to talk about," she said softly, whispering it in his ear. A slight burn was felt at the corners of her eyes and she quickly blinked it away. Taking a deep breath she shook her head, "I don't want an answer if you don't want to give it. I don't care about your past, what you've done. You could have done any terrible thing imaginable, Luca. But it's not going to change how I feel or what I want."

Rue pulled herself around him and positioned herself on his lap as he was facing away from her. Her fingers brushed across his face then through his hair as she looked him over, "I don't ever want to be away from you. I don't know what it is, but I'm not nervous around you like I am with other people. I can talk to you. It's nice talking to someone other than my brother," her lips pulled into a small smile.

"You'll tell me in your own time. Just as I will tell you my own story in my own time. My past isn't filled with light either, you know."

She stared at his blue eyes as she sat there. It took her a moment to realize how close she was to him, but then it didn't seem to matter except she could feel her face starting to burn once again. Then she got a terrible thought, something that she hoped would get him just as bad as he enjoyed getting her. A wicked grin spread cross her lips as her eyelashes fanned out, covering most of her eyes. Reaching up with a slender finger, she gently tapped his lips then pushed him over with what little body weight she had.

Laying on top of him now, she continued to grin at him, then pressed her lips against his neck and then his cheek, then finally his lips before collapsing on him without warning. She peeked out from under her eyelashes to see what kind of response she'd get from that before whispering, "Part of your punishment," then giggled softly.

Luca M. Feygor

Luca winced slightly as the sensation of her fingers threading over his back reached him, entirely uncertain what to expect from her. Oddly, he felt no pressure as her lavished frame pressed onto his shoulders, as though she weighed as light as a feather.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up anything you didn't want to talk about," a solemn tone filled his ears, offering the tantalizing promise of mutual understanding and making him want to reach out and grasp it. Her presence soothed over him greatly, but unlike their previous situation in the forest, this time he was filled with affectionate tenderness. Immediately he felt like turning around to address her directly but she was already a step ahead of him.

"I don't want an answer if you don't want to give it. I don't care about your past, what you've done. You could have done any terrible thing imaginable, Luca. But it's not going to change how I feel or what I want." He laughed inwardly as she said this, wondering if sheā€™d felt the same ambiguity during their conversation in the history class. Still, her comment grimly reminded him of his history and its implications. The last thing he wanted in that moment was to hurt her, to deny the purity of her feelings. Abruptly, he felt her slide across his lap, bringing them face to face. Looking at her closely, she seemed so mature now it was almost dangerous. Her fingers combed across his face as though she had him on a hooked on the end of her line, a small smile playing across her lips like nothing else mattered.

"I don't ever want to be away from you. I don't know what it is, but I'm not nervous around you like I am with other people. I can talk to you. It's nice talking to someone other than my brother. You'll tell me in your own time. Just as I will tell you my own story in my own time. My past isn't filled with light either, you know."

Like waking from a trance, her cheeks began to glow a deep red as she realised their proximity. Already he had snide remark in preparation for her when suddenly a finger pressed upon his lips, stalling him. His eyes widened slightly as he helplessly fell back onto the mattress, unable to counter her weight. Looking up at her alluring face, he noticed a smile heā€™d never seen before and an expression of astonishment washed over him in response. A slight alarm set in as he wanted to warn her, to remind her of their surroundings, but she leaned back, kissing his neck before moving upwards to his cheeks then lips. She fell onto him fully afterwards, smothering him with the softness and warmth of her body as his lips burnt with hers.

"Part of your punishment," the sound of her soft giggling plucked the strings of his heart, teasing him with their playfulness.

ā€œYou really are amazing,ā€ was all he managed at first, as if words couldnā€™t begin to describe her. He shifted his head slightly and kissed her on the neck as if to reciprocate her feelings. ā€œYouā€™re both strangely considerate and selfish at times, and that makes you adorable,ā€ he said, then following her example, kissed her on the cheeks.

ā€œYouā€™re honesty also makes you irresistible to tease. Although, I may have created a frightening personality as a result,ā€ Luca joked, his own placid exterior reconstructing as he stared at her wide eyes and long lashes. Smiling, he ran a finger across her fringe, pulling white strands away from her face and over her ears.

ā€œSo Iā€™ll tell you my second greatest secret for the time being,ā€ his said. He waved his fingers next to her ears, Blueā€™s magic disabling her hearing for a moment so that she could only focus onto the movement of his lips. Leaning back slowly, he mouthed each word carefully in front of her as he said it, ā€œI love you," then pecked her over the cheeks again as he dispelled his magic.

ā€œYou really are amazing. Youā€™re both strangely considerate and selfish at times, and that makes you adorable,ā€ he kissed her neck, causing her to take a deep, quick breath. Though his earlier reaction was what she'd been hoping for, so she allowed him this time to make her blush once more. Her heart raced as she lay on top of him, his lips moving as he spoke tickled her skin. His lips pressed against her cheek then too, copying her moves exactly. Rue's face flushed further as he continued to talk.

ā€œYouā€™re honesty also makes you irresistible to tease. Although, I may have created a frightening personality as a result.ā€

To this she laughed, dropping her head against his chest as she tried to smother the sound against him. After a moment she lifted her head again to look at him, her eyes bright as her smile returned, the same wild one she had before. A sly grin as she acknowledged his words. Yes, he was probably right about that, though she could always turn and blame him for it now. She made a mental note to remember that little detail and to exploit it as often as she could. If she could throw him off just as he did to her, then she would be even with him, not to mention it was quite fun.

ā€œSo Iā€™ll tell you my second greatest secret for the time being,ā€ her eyes widened slightly, an eyebrow lifting as her smile turned into a small 'o' as she waited for him to speak to her. She was curious to know what it was he wanted to say, but as she lay there, her head propped up by her hand that rested against him, her ears buzzed slightly and all the soft sounds in the clinic faded away. She didn't realize that Luca had done anything until he leaned back so that she could see his lips easily. He said something to her, but her focus was on his mouth.

"I love you."

Then her hearing returned and she smiled after a moment, her eyes still locked on his face. Rue fought off the blush, her heart skipping a beat before jumping into an irregular race. Then she turned her head sideways and lay against Luca with a soft sigh.

"My secret for you, is the same," she said before closing her eyes and breathing deeply. It wasn't long after she'd spoken that she was sound asleep across him.

He watched Aslan get up and stalk out of the cafeteria, his eyes narrowed in confusion. What just happened? Was it something he'd said? Damn it all to hell... he thought to himself in irritation.

"If it's not one thing, it's another," Erin mumbled to himself. Nemesis huffed as well and rested his head against Erin's lap. Reaching down, he started petting the dire wolf without really thinking about it. He'd all but forgotten about the little goblin that had been there with him, but as he remembered the bond, he turned and looked down at it.

"Don't suppose you know anything about that, do ya?"

"My secret for you, is the same,"

Like a waterfall, Rueā€™s hair fell in cascades all over his body, engulfing his vision in pure white as she exhaled one last sigh and then closed her eyes. His entire chest felt the warmth of her face as she snuggled closer to him, using him like a pillow. She really hadnā€™t been joking about that part. Luca smiled amicably as glanced at her peaceful expression, a reassuring sensation easing over him and relaxing his muscles. It didnā€™t take long for her to fall asleep, but he was glad sheā€™d finally be able to rest. Careful not to disturb her, his own arm wrapped around her shoulder, bracing her body. Then, he twisted his head, his own eyes falling shut as he drifted asleep.

Students! Listen carefully, all classes are finished, you must take cover in the Auditorium right away, no delaying, don't go to get precious items because they won't be precious anymore if you're dead. Get to the Auditorium right away!

Luca awakened mid-way through the ominous announcement, his cold eyes snapping open. He was already alert despite the lingering weariness he felt all across his body, the message conveyed through the speakers leaving no illusions as to the gravity of their situation. The voice behind it was calm but an undeniable, almost indecent, alarm had been carried within the tone of the terse warning. His left wrist bent towards his him as he checked the time before flicking his gaze towards the speakers. Just what was going on? His hands stroked over Rue's delicate frame as he attempted to conjure her consciousness, certain that an emergency was underway. Already he could hear the sounds of frantic activity coming from outside of the nursery window. Frantic activity which didnā€™t sound in the least bit good.

ā€œRue? Rise and shine, don't make me kiss you again,ā€ he informed her, ignoring the guilt from disturbing her. ā€œIā€™m sorry but seems i'll have to put off being a pillow again, things may have gone awry... Snow, stick close to me, Iā€™ll likely have to teleport us.ā€ Pulling himself away from her, Luca straightened himself just as one of the nurses pulled open the curtains.

ā€œOh, good, youā€™re both already awake,ā€ she frowned.

ā€œIs there anyone else here?ā€ Luca followed up immediately.

ā€œJust you two and one other student, Maya Hawthorne, we need to get going now though,ā€ the nurse responded.

ā€œI can handle that,ā€ Luca nodded, flexing his arms. "We just need to gather close."

A moment later the group was teleported to the Auditorium.

ā€œRue? Rise and shine, don't make me kiss you again. Iā€™m sorry but seems i'll have to put off being a pillow again, things may have gone awry... Snow, stick close to me, Iā€™ll likely have to teleport us.ā€

She groaned as she slowly came awake, feeling his fingers across her small frame. Not wanting to get up, she turned her head the other way and was instantly comfortable again. Rue would have fallen right back asleep had Luca not moved himself out from under her. With a bit of a pout to her lips and a groan, she pushed her white hair from her face and turned to look at him. There was an urgency in his eyes that woke her immediately.

"What is it Luca?" She asked him, but before he could answer her, a nurse interrupted. The woman was relieved they were awake, but Rue was utterly confused. What the hell is going on? She thought to herself, an eyebrow coming down as she watched the exchange between Luca and the woman in white. Not long after that and Maya was taken to be right next to them, her black hair messy from being in bed for a long time. In the next instant, the room blurred around her and the scenery changed. Instead of a warm comfortable bed beneath her, she found herself lying on her stomach in the middle of the auditorium. The cold hard floor greeting her harshly.

With yet another groan, she pushed herself up to her hands and knees, forgetting completely her stitched wound. As she pushed herself up and leaned back, she felt the pull of the stitches then and immediately hunched forward to ease the tension, her lips tightening as she bit the inside of her cheek to keep from uttering a soft sound of pain. The last thing she wanted was to worry Luca any more than she already had. Snow whirled around her head a few times before landing on her shoulder, her wings extended partially as she was agitated.

"What's happening Luca?" She asked, her eyes locked on him as she sat there on her knees. Absently she reached up and stroked Snow's chest, her fingers running across the downy feathers of the phoenix. For a single moment, her eyes left his as she scanned the room. The auditorium was packed, much like the first day she'd started school. On stage was the president of the school, Berach and their general educations teacher. She was speaking, and from what Rue could gather, the little woman was also supposed to be their special bonds teacher.

The room echoed with the teachers voice as she said that they were bout to have their first, and probably only, lesson on special bonds. However, what really got Rue's heart racing, was her ending words. 'I am going to have to speed up today's class which can be very dangerous so I'm going to ask you to be very serious about this because if you're not you could die'. Die? What was it the other teacher had said? She hadn't been paying attention as she'd been focused on waking up completely and getting herself off the cold floor.

"He said this is war, Rue. There's a war going on!" Snow answered for her, flapping her wings.

"War!?" Rue's eyes shot to her bond as she unconsciously took hold of Luca's fingers. Ice flooded her veins as she stared at the bond, then looked from Luca back to the stage. With a sharp intake of breath she turned around, pulling her stitches as she did so, and looked out into the crowd for Erin and the large black dire wolf. It wasn't long before she spotted them, and as if they were in tune with each other, his exact sharp green eye color caught hers. Nemesis pushed his way through the students, giving Erin just enough room to rush right behind his large bond.

In a matter of seconds, the boy was right next to them, dropping down and pulling Rue into his arms, "There you are. I was afraid you hadn't been able to get here. It's hell out there! There's fighting right outside the school grounds. There's been a couple of hits to the school to. I could hear them on my way here from the cafeteria. I didn't think you'd gotten out of the infirmary," his voice flooded her ears as he spoke quickly, refusing to let her go.

"I'm alright, Erin. Luca was with me the entire time."

To this, Erin looked up off his sisters shoulder and gave an appreciative smile to the boy sitting next to her, "Thanks man. I owe you a lot."

Nemesis planted himself right between them all, his eyes scanning the students all around them, his fur bristling lightly. The dire wolf was highly sensitive to the actions and the threatening presence outside the school. Finally, Erin released his sister and she scooted herself closer to Luca. The room was getting crowded.

"What now?" Rue asked.

"Don't know," Erin shrugged, "But whatever happens, try not to get separated. Got it?"

Rue swallowed and nodded her head, her eyes narrowing to match the determined look on her brothers face. She wasn't planning on getting separated, especially from Luca.

They arrived in the Auditorium only to be greeted by a growing sense of panic. Both students and teachers alike hurried back and forth, the same discernible panic and concern written across every ones faces. Luca blinked in the confusion, still not entirely certain what to make of the situation himself. Berach strode forth to address them all then, sending his voice booming across the room to capture their attention quickly.

"This is not a drill, this is not a game. This is war. Some of you have talents in fighting, some of you are talented in other things but all of you are warriors and we are going to get through this together. For now the Tyrillian military is holding them off but we're going to have to help them and for that you're going to get a quick lesson from Jenniphael Durmane Special Bonds teacher." With his announcement finished, Berach stepped aside briskly, making way for Jenniphael to speak at the centre of the stage.

"I know you all remember me as your History teacher, but I am also your Special Bonds teacher and I am going to have to speed up today's class which can be very dangerous so I'm going to ask you to be very serious about this because if you're not you could die,"

Luca reflected on the teacherā€™s speech with a growing sense of trepidation. He hesitated to consider the next step, like predicting the bad ending to a story you didnā€™t want to read about. Cold eyes narrowed as his own concern for Rueā€™s safety grew rapidly, causing him to clutch onto her hand tightly just as she did to his own. Erin emerged out of the crowds then, the young manā€™s silvery hair and dark bond a welcome sight even amidst the colourful array of students and bonds. Erin approached them rapidly to check on Rue, settling down only to hug her tightly in relief as he reached them. Luca smirked as he watched them like a pair of reunited lovers, Rue all the while attempting to soothe over her brotherā€™s distress by abusing his presence.

"Thanks man. I owe you a lot."

ā€œItā€™s fine. More importantly, we seem to have more pressing matters to attend to,ā€ Luca casually returned their attentions to the issue at hand. Finally freed from Erinā€™s overprotective grip, Rue shuffled herself back to his side, prompting Luca to grin happily at her. ā€œThe bright side is there wonā€™t be any rope traps like in the afternoon class for you to get swept away in,ā€ he swayed, unable to resist the temptation to tease her, ā€œBut sticking together is a sound idea,ā€ he nodded in confirmation with Erin. Following his suggestion, Luca stood back slightly and slapped a piece of paper onto the ground, making floor space for Blue Horror as the demon shimmered into existence then.

ā€œSo, it comes to this,ā€ Blueā€™s twisted voice hammered into his ears immediately upon materialising, almost impairing his hearing as it crossed all of five its blue arms in front of them.

ā€œI thought this sort of thing wouldā€™ve made you happy?ā€ Luca replied, his voice terse as his eyes fell on the demon with disgust. As ever, its mere presence was enough to disrupt his peaceful memories.

ā€œUnfortunately, my only purpose in life now was the one designated to me back then,ā€ Blue Horror responded despondently.

ā€œThe bright side is there wonā€™t be any rope traps like in the afternoon class for you to get swept away in,ā€ Luca told her with a sly smile. Even in this situation, he had to tease her. Even so, it made her look up at him and give him a look of annoyance though her lips were pulled in a slight smile anyway. It was true, what he said. There weren't going to be any traps that could take her away from him this time. She watched as he slapped a piece of paper down on the floor between them all and Blue's form wavered in sight. Her eyes lifted to look at him, the earlier fear of his telling her to consider him not wanting her to see Luca filled her for a moment before she looked away and tried to ignore the deep chill that had set in.

The bond turned to Luca and addressed him with a monotonous voice that boomed out and hurt her ears. She rubbed at her ears absently as she listened to Luca's colder reply. Obviously he disliked his bond, and again, she wondered why. His passed was a dark mystery, but a mystery that kept her intrigued with him and in love with him. Rue couldn't comprehend what the bond meant with it's final words so she turned her attention back to the teacher who was trying to get the students' attention so she could give them their special bonds class lessons in something akin to five minutes. Rue didn't know how well that was going to work, but she figured some knowledge was better than none at all.

Her attention was drawn from the teacher, however, as the school rumbled loudly. Something had hit the academy full on and the walls shuddered from the impact. A loud groaning sound filled the air as the wood work shifted completely. Rue's heart lurched to her throat and she pushed herself closer to Luca as she bit her lip. Her eyes narrowed as she looked around them, her gaze quickly assessing what would be weak in the auditorium and what would not. The three sets of double doors at the end of the room would be the weakest, she figured. There were windows, but those windows were up above the doors. Unless whoever was fighting had a winged bond or something like that, they wouldn't be breaking through the glass.

Snow bounced around next to her, her wings fluttering in agitation. Absently, Rue reached out and stroked her bonds head. She was trying to calm the white phoenix just as she was attempting to calm herself. Her nerves were all out of whack again and she was desperately trying to keep them under control. If it came down to a fight, she would fight, but she was afraid of what might happen to Luca or her brother. This was war, and in war, people died. Slowly she turned to look at Luca, her eyes rising to meet his. Without a second thought, she pulled herself up against him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she held him. Her lips brushed his ear as she whispered to him.

"Promise me something? Promise you won't die," she said, her voice trembling as she spoke. It was a sudden and true fear that had claimed her. The thought of his leaving her permanently in any fashion was enough to send her hurtling into the depths of darkness and despair, never to return. She wanted to hear him say that he wouldn't leave her, to tell her that it was impossible for that to happen. Hell, he could even tease her about having such a notion rise in her head. Anything to stem off the cold blooded fear that was slowly taking over.

Luca winced involuntarily as he felt the aftershock which rocked the walls reverberating into his very bones. The proximity of the impact alarmed him, causing his gaze to snap out at the windows in concern. His sense of unease grew as the sounds of battle gathered closer inveitably, like an encroaching forest fire. Rue pressed herself against him then, her soft body like a cushion against his. He watched her eyes glance anxiously at the supporting structure of the auditorium, as if the structural form could give way and cave in at a momentā€™s notice, and then turn to regard the trembling windows. She wasnā€™t the only one clearly apprehensive, an agitated Snow sat beside her, the white phoenix flapping her wings relentlessly and forcing Rue to reach out and calm her.

Rue faced him then, her wide eyes regarding him carefully. Without notice, Rueā€™s arms wrapped around his neck, causing him to sway backwards in surprise from the unexpected force of her embrace. Immediately he could feel the weight of her fears compounding against his own, her uncertainty causing his muscles to strain helplessly for an instance. "Promise me something? Promise you won't die," the question tormenting her caused his heart to sink even though he felt exactly the same. He knew that dark feeling of losing something precious to you all too well.

His arms squeezed her frame tightly before he pulled away and smirked down at her, locking onto her beautiful emerald eyes. ā€œThatā€™s a bit of an unfair request Rue. It feels like Iā€™m the only one ever making promises here,ā€ he chuckled, caressing her perfectly white cheeks affectionately, ā€œIā€™ve begun to wonder if youā€™re ever going to repay me in return for all of these deeds i've done for you,ā€ he cooed. Sliding his hand down to hers, he patted a folded piece of paper into her palms, ā€œThis time, I want you to make sure you keep this on you. Itā€™ll allow me to teleport to you in the event we do get separate, donā€™t forget it like the last time,ā€ he chided, gently folding her fingers over it and placing her hand in her pocket.

Seeing them both, Blue Horror muttered something incomprehensible, but Luca ignored him for the moment, his focus pressed onto Rue. ā€œI guess I did promise to let you do as you wanted with me afterwards though,ā€ he mulled, playfully drawing the thought as if it were a distant memory, ā€œSo... if thatā€™s your wish then I guess I have no option but to oblige, i fear what further punishments await me if pillow duty was the result of a kiss.ā€

Her face flushed as he spoke to her, telling her that she was being unfair, but his lips were pulled in a smile and he was laughing at her. She tried to fight off the blush, but he had a way of getting her to turn red every time. It was almost habit now, his voice alone could make her turn red, he didn't have to say anything other than 'hello' and that was it. His hand slid down to hers, causing a twist in her stomach and her heart to jump lightly. He pressed a piece of paper in her fingers and put her fingers into her pocket. She let go of the paper once it was securely in her jean pocket.

ā€œI guess I did promise to let you do as you wanted with me afterwards though. So... if thatā€™s your wish then I guess I have no option but to oblige, i fear what further punishments await me if pillow duty was the result of a kiss.ā€

A soft laugh escaped her as she dropped her gaze from his and couldn't help but smile. Only then was she happy, the fear had been stemmed and she could think properly knowing that he wouldn't be leaving her any time soon. Rue turned her eyes back up to his and smiled at him, her cheeks a fiery red, she was sure. Behind her, she could hear Erin give a slight cough and she ignored him. Nemesis laughed, his coughing bark letting her know exactly what he was doing and she figured that him and her brother had been talking between themselves about her and Luca. She didn't care either way, to her the room was empty except for Luca right before her.

"Don't forget me. I'm always here," Snow pouted.

"Yeah, yeah. I know you're here too, Snow," Rue replied softly through their connection.

"Well, I guess if you must have a promise from me, then ask away. I'll promise you anything," Rue told him, her eyes taking on that wicked look she'd had earlier and her smile growing larger as she thought about the possibilities, "Just remember, this is your fault, and I can think of far crueler punishments than just being a pillow," she cooed, her voice sultry and thick. The green of her eyes sparkling with a new look. Leaning forward so her brother couldn't hear her, she got close to him and grinned up at him, "But you might like that those kinds of punishments." It seemed she was growing a bit bolder and the exhilaration of it was quite nice to say the least. Rue was beginning to enjoy this new side that Luca had created.

Across the room, where the windows had shuttered just moments before, several of the windows shattered causing a loud commotion throughout the gathered students. Her heart jumped and her eyes shot immediately to the back of the auditorium. Several different kinds of bonds jumped through the broken windows, bonds she hadn't seen before. With her teasing interrupted she looked around at the new chaos that had started through the room. Gremlins and smaller dragons flitted about as they began attacking at random.

Snow shot up into the air and doused the immediate area around Rue, Luca and Erin in dry ice. Her white fiery body streaking through the air as she cooled down the entire room and launched icicles at the gremlins and lesser dragons. Nemesis in turn changed, his body growing larger and thick spikes erupting from his back. He too shot off into the fight and protected Erin as the older boy got to his feet and tackled a dragon that came right at him. Rue ducked as they both tumbled down to the ground next to them.

"Erin!" She cried and her body lit up just like her bonds. Her silver eyes narrowed in on the dragon that attacked her brother and she lunged forward away from Luca. The moment her hands touched the dragon that had latched it's jaw around Erin's shoulder, she froze it. Ice cracked as it spread along the dragons body. It unhooked it's jaw from Erin and emitted a loud screeching sound as she froze it. A few moments after and it was nothing but a large piece of dry ice that Erin tossed from his body.

"Are you alright?" She asked him as he slowly sat up with one hand around his bleeding shoulder.

"Yeah," he grinned at her, "I have nothing to worry about when my sister can freeze just about anything."

Dzidzi stood on her shoulder and then something happened, they both started to glow a green color then Jenniphael lifted a hand and a rose grew in the palm of her hand then it became large and it disappeared. Then Dzidzi flew off of Jenniphael's shoulder and suddenly vines started growing on all of the walls like an infection. When Dzidzi had backed up the growth of the vines until they were all gone and returned onto Jenniphael's shoulder both of their green glows disappeared.

"The basics of Bonding is giving your strength to your Bond or them giving it to you," explained Jenniphael, "Increase their strength or increase your strength."

She looked around at the students then pointed at Luca, "You already know how to do this but do not perfect it because you quickly get tired once you stop the link and that is why I will show you haw to use it without losing your strength."

"First, you all have that link with your Bonds where you can hear their thought and know what they're think. Well, stop it. Don't listen to what they're thinking, don't know what they're going to do, they have to become just like a normal unknown person standing next to you. Stay like that for a few seconds and then the both of you have to imagine being just like your Bonds. In my case, I image being a fairy and she imagines she is a human, once the both of you are concentrated on that though, reopen the link and you will feel energy flowing through, but do not get careless. Stay concentrated or else the energy will consume the both of you."

Jenniphael watched the students concentrating and getting their likes in motion, their glows all of different colors then she jumped off of the stage and went to see students, "Second, when the link is done, if you receive your Bond's power you can use their power. For example, Rue, you can use ice and cold, Amalthea, you can kill by simply wishing for it but be careful who you wish for, Aubrey, you can have the swiftness and the sight of a griffin. It's an endless list, and if you give them strength their powers multiply by five."

Amalthea Oprah

She listened to every word Jenniphael said and she started her link with Cerberus, it was very hard to stop their simple every day link because she had always found it normal. How could she stop something that was just as normal was walking and breathing? It took a very long time until she finally got it and then Cerberus and herself opened the link up again and the both of them had a black glow surrounding them. She felt amazing but stayed concentrated because she didn't want to die after learning something so refreshing.

"Amalthea, you can kill by simply wishing for it but be careful who you wish for," Jenniphael's words struck Amalthea in the heart.

"Wait! How could I possibly do that if Cerberus can't do that!" Amalthea panicked.

"Your Bond is Cerberus, the guardian of the dead, of course he can take life without using his jaws or claws, he just hasn't discovered the power yet."

Luca M. Feygor

As her wide eyes dropped from his face, the soft squeak of a laugh reassured him she was alright. He only eased when he noticed the sum of her fears ebbing away, the blushing smile which rushed to her face to replace it spawning a grin of his own. A grin which widened as he caught Erinā€™s and Nemesisā€™ presumptuous cough, indicating they should probably recompose themselves. Luca started to pull away but a fresh look in her eyes stalled him as he recognised it immediately as the same look sheā€™d had in the infirmary. His own heart began to race as the memory of that time generated a series of dangerous thoughts.

"Well, I guess if you must have a promise from me, then ask away. I'll promise you anything," she broached with a winning smile. Not a trace of her earlier timidness remained; Rue was utterly composed and utterly charming as she leaned in tightly, her words teasing his imagination as the creamy smell of her presence filled him. "Just remember, this is your fault, and I can think of far crueller punishments than just being a pillow," Once again she stolen the initiative from him, like pulling the rug from under his feet. He marvelled at her newfound boldness, feeling both strangely excited and apprehensive in response to her. She leaned in like a natural, her proximity now filling him with nothing but thoughts about her. "But you might like that those kinds of punishments." Luca choked out a hoarse laugh, but as he looked back, her mischievous smile informed him she was enjoying this also. She really did consider it repayment for all his earlier teasing.

There was no time to chastise her behaviour because the enemy chose their time to interrupt them then. From across the hallway came the shattering of glass, alerting them to the mismatched cluster of critters flooding through the ruined windows. Luca started forwards as the initial assault wave pressed in, sharp claws and jaws snapping. Luca saw Snow spiral upwards, raining blades of ice, he spotted the swift black blur of Nemesis leaping into action, tearing the throats from his foes. He spotted Rue over Erin, a dragon frozen into an icicle in her hands. Some of the students whoā€™d been situated in the immediate vicinity of the attack simply ran and fled in panic, others held their ground staunchly. One harpy bond in particular was tearing into their uninvited guests with relish.

Luca though, Luca was terrifying. Despite the burning pain in his ribs preventing him from applying any real pressure in his left arm, Luca was no slouch in close combat. Curled within the bottom of his fists, Luca had adapted sharpened credit cards into weapons, using the edges like shortened daggers to stab and gouge at his opponents with both arms. And with a kick like a mule, numerous bonds tumbled away at his feet as he stood before Rue, "That promise Rue, don't worry about it. I help you because i want to help you."

In no matter of time the wave had been subdued thanks to the combined effort of the students and various personnel were now working to board up gap in the wall in the aftermath of their attack. Abruptly, luscious green vines sprang into life around them, covering walls of the Auditorium and making the room look as if it'd been overgrown. Jenniphael grabbed their attention once more, addressing the entire cohort and particularly Luca when she pointed to him, much to his surprise.

"First, you all have that link with your Bonds where you can hear their thought and know what they're think. Well, stop it. Don't listen to what they're thinking, don't know what they're going to do, they have to become just like a normal unknown person standing next to you. In my case, I image being a fairy and she imagines she is a human, once the both of you are concentrated on that though, reopen the link and you will feel energy flowing through, but do not get careless. Stay concentrated or else the energy will consume the both of you."

Lucaā€™s hooded eyes fell upon Blue Horror, his expression dark. A decrepit sensation sank into his stomach as he tried imagining himself as the demon. Nothing. Such mutual understanding was impossible for two drastically opposed beings such as him and his bond. He bit the bottom of his lip, Jenniphael was right and Luca knew it. He expended his energy far too fast when using Blueā€™s abilities, yet it was hopeless trying to change that. How could both of them come to terms after all their lingering hatred for one another?

"That promise Rue, don't worry about it. I help you because i want to help you," Luca's voice penetrated the air around her and she turned to look up at his back as he was fighting off a handful of the little bonds that attacked them. Her eyes widened at him in surprise and admiration. All thoughts on how wonderful he truly was. Soon after and the short attack in the auditorium was subdued and the Special Bond's teacher sent her fairy out into the crowd. Vines erupted across the walls, covering up the broken windows and twining together so tightly that Rue didn't think that even the students would be able to get out.

Then she turned to the woman who was speaking, telling them about how to strengthen their connection and create a stronger, more powerful bond that would regulate energy use and be thousands of times more effective. Rue turned her eyes to Snow as the bright white bond flew back to her and landed on her shoulder. Standing, she raised an eyebrow as the teacher pointed at her directly, specifying certain students in the crowd, Luca included. Rue knew that she could use her bonds power as well as her bond using Rue's own abilities. Not that she had many skills, but her tiny body and the ability to move quite quickly always came in handy. Being a former gymnast gave her the advantage of being highly flexible. Movement was her specialty, bending and twisting, dodging and ducking. It all came naturally to her that for the most part, during a fight she'd be leading her attacker, right to where she wanted them before she sprung back.

All those thoughts flitted through her mind as she envisioned exactly what she would do should she fall prey to the attackers against Tryillia. She would lead them to Luca, knowing full well that he and his bond would easily dispatch anyone who wished to cause harm to her. He would probably do it without a second thought as well. Rue concluded that she would do the same for him should anything happen to him. She would encase the entire school in dry ice for him if it came down to that. Both her and Snow began trying to concentrate and feel what the teacher was telling them, but another crash against the school walls distracted her and Rue fell out of tune with Snow.

"Don't worry. You and I will be fine. We've got a close enough bond between us. We'll get it eventually. In the mean time, save your energy, Rue. I have a feeling we're going to need it. If we plan things right, neither of us will run out of energy before the end."

Rue nodded, "Alright," she said to Snow then turned to Erin who was gazing at his bond, a small smile on his face as the two shared some personal jokes between each other. She was fairly sure she knew what they were talking about. Erin wishing to be the wolf and Nemesis despising the fact that he had to think about himself being a human. The teasing would be ceaseless, but they both knew what they had to do and they probably had more practice with it than Rue and Snow.

Sidling up next to Luca, she put her arm around his waist as best she could, her tiny frame dwarfed by his athletic build, her eyes turned upwards to send him a small grin, "Remind me when this is all over that I have plans for you," she said. Anything to keep the bating war outside off her mind. As long as she could stay distracted until the actual fighting started, she was sure to be alright. If she sat there and just thought about it, she would grow apprehensive and when they needed her, she would be nothing but a shell of pure emotions bent out of shape.

ā€œHaving trouble there boy?ā€ Blue Horrorā€™s seething tone chided him, prickling his hearing like the buzz of a million flies. The demonā€™s voice wasnā€™t spoken through a mental link, instead its unnatural accent was uttered seemingly devoid of the intention of respite and assistance. That was so like him, to point out the obvious problems yet fail to offer any solutions. As petty as it sounded, Luca couldnā€™t bring himself to ask the blue bond either, he simply couldnā€™t allow the demon that satisfaction. Luca could hear the unmistakable rustle of heavy robes rubbing against the floor from behind him and concluded the demon was nearby.

ā€œDonā€™t speak to me like this is easy,ā€ Luca returned, his eyes twitching in frustration as his usual composure left him, briefly revealing his ruined inner core. He whirled around on the demon, his words caked with a rueful scorn as he chaffed at the cascade of red robes, apparently unfazed by the demonā€™s criticism. ā€œCanā€™t be easy for you either Blue, imagining being the person you hate that is,ā€ Luca smirked mirthlessly with a shake of his head.

ā€œThe only one having trouble here is you,ā€ Blue Horror stated simply and honestly.

Luca rubbed the side of his temples, unable to blot out the triumphant cries from several other students within the auditorium as they succeeded more easily in opening the link between their bonds. This was a critical moment he needed to overcome, especially when who knows what dangers awaited Rue outside. He couldnā€™t afford to be having these issues. Abruptly, he felt an arm wrap itself around his waist, the pleasant warmth of Rueā€™s soft body following immediately.

"Remind me when this is all over that I have plans for you,"

Her voice compelled him to gaze down at her, his blue eyes falling over her perfectly white hair and creamy features. Moving his eyes further down, he spotted the only smile which could ever ease his tension. ā€œI wonder what that could possibly entail,ā€ he cracked a grin, playing along to indicate he had a good idea what she was planning. He decided so long as he could protect her smile, nothing else would stop him, not his blood tainted past and certainly not the threat of war. A strange calm engulfed him as the restless discomfort which had plagued him earlier ceased to exist. Letā€™s try again Blue, with more effort this time. Luca replied mentally, his determination rising. His own arm wrapped around Rueā€™s shoulders then, pulling her in tighter as he leaned into her ear. ā€œMore pillow duty? Or maybe even some of these so-called punishments Iā€™d enjoy? Iā€™ll have to address this newfound boldness of yours soon or your brother may start to hate me for corrupting his one and only sister,ā€ he chuckled teasingly, arching an eyebrow at her.

ā€œMore pillow duty? Or maybe even some of these so-called punishments Iā€™d enjoy? Iā€™ll have to address this newfound boldness of yours soon or your brother may start to hate me for corrupting his one and only sister,ā€ Luca laughed as he teased her. She was buried against him, so her burning face was probably lost to him, though she had a feeling he knew well enough that she was blushing once again.

"And how will you go about fixing that?" She grinned against him. Rue wasn't very tall, her head just barely reaching his chest, she was utterly dwarfed by him. His strong arm around her giving her much needed warmth and comfort. The school rumbled once more, making her eyes shift to the walls around them. She could feel the trembling in the floor as well. Her heart raced to her throat as she stood there next to Luca.

Then a vibration in her pocket got her attention and she leaned away from Luca in surprise. With an eyebrow arched she pulled the phone from her pocket and looked at the name on the screen. Rue's heart nearly stopped as she stood there looking at the name and number. With a slightly shaky finger, she answered the call. Putting the phone to her ear, she didn't even say hello.

"Rue? Are you there?" The feminine voice called over the line, the sound of the woman's voice sent shivers down her spine.

"Yes."

"Where are you? Are you both okay?"

A slight burn settled in her eyes and she blinked quickly to fight it off, "Fine, mother. What's going on?"

"We came as quickly as we could. We need you two to come home with us."

Her eyebrow came down in confusion. Since when had her mother or father ever cared about her well being? Erin's she could understand as he had Nemesis, but her? Something didn't sit well with her, but she couldn't deny that it was her mothers voice that called to her over the line, the pleading sound and the fear genuine enough.

"We're fine, mother."

"You're coming now, Rue Tyryl and I'll have no fighting about it! It's too dangerous and you can't stay there, the army is barely holding back the rebellion from getting into the school. You and your brother have to come now. This is your only chance, honey!" The last word sounded strained, she couldn't remember the last time she'd heard her mother call her by that and it pulled at her heart. She flicked her eyes to Luca, unsure of what she should do. A loud sound filled the static over the phone and a moment later the school shuddered.

"Rue! Now, we have to go now. I want you both safe."

"Mom... alright," Rue whispered, dropping her gaze from Luca and letting her hair fall forward to cover her face.

"We're at the southern wing, it's the least dangerous. We can meet you half way if you hurry."

"Alright," she continued in her soft voice.

"Good. See you soon, honey," then the call clicked and there was nothing but a beeping sound. She looked up to Luca, unsure of how to tell him what she'd just been ordered to do. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she gazed at him.

"Luca, I have to go. My mother... she wants to take Erin and I from the school," her voice trembled. Then she looked to her brother, he'd turned his attention to her, his phone also slowly being removed from his ear. Obviously their father had called him at the same time. His eyes gazed at her in shock, she too didn't know really what to think of it. Of course, dire times often led to interesting reactions from torn families. Perhaps her mother had had a change of heart.

Rue looked back at Luca. Taking his hand she called up as much determination as she could, "Come with me. Please, Luca."

"And how will you go about fixing that?" Rue responded cheekily. Luca mused over his response, the proximity of her presence forcing a genuine smile over his own face. His grin widened as his lips formulated the words in his mind, ā€œIā€™ll leave that to your imagiā€¦ā€ Abruptly the walls around them trembled from some hidden force again, this time the rumbling was sent flowing through the walls and reverberating into the very floor underneath them. Luca could feel the immense strength of whatever was the cause of the tremor through the soles of his shoes as the shockwave reach him, causing his shoulders to stiffen uneasily.

In between that time he noticed Rue had pulled away slightly, a sort of anxiety filling her as she stared blankly at the screen of her phone. Luca frowned at her with concern, wondering what couldā€™ve possible been displayed on the screen to elicit such a response. His question was quickly answered as Rueā€™s quivering hands extended the device up to her ear.

"Fine, mother. What's going on?" Rueā€™s voice was distantly drawn, as if reluctant to even utter the title of mother. The word brought up his memories of their earlier conversation, drawing his thoughts to the ambiguous details of Rueā€™s past relationship with her parents.

As a result, Lucaā€™s response was quite the opposite of what one may usually feel after hearing such a thing, relief. Instead of relief itā€™s more accurate to say Luca felt something analogous to alarm. His blue eyes narrowed, picking up the undeniable confusion laced beneath Rueā€™s every word and his muscles tightened reflexively, his concern for her only growing as the one sided conversation reach his ears. A sharp click indicated the call had ended, but Rueā€™s apprehension only seemed to magnify as she stared up at him, biting her lips like some harsh judgment had befallen her. Uncertain what to expect from her next response, Luca could only tighten the balls of his fist.

"Luca, I have to go. My mother... she wants to take Erin and I from the school," Rue informed him of the good news, but for some reason she seemed anything but willing, raising his suspicions. Her lithe fingers wrapped firmly around his own then, startling him. "Come with me. Please, Luca."

Luca allowed himself to be ferried away by her, his lips pursing into a slight grimace as they walked, ā€œRue? Is everything alright? It sounds like theyā€™ve come to rescue you. I know you have issues regarding your family relationship, but you seemā€¦hesitant still to go to them,ā€ Luca began. Family issues was something he was well accustomed to, yet still he couldnā€™t find the right words to approach the topic. ā€œIs there something I can do to help?ā€

ā€œRue? Is everything alright? It sounds like theyā€™ve come to rescue you. I know you have issues regarding your family relationship, but you seemā€¦hesitant still to go to them. Is there something I can do to help?ā€

Rue took a deep breath as she led them to the double doors at the back of the room. She hoped that the teachers wouldn't stop her from leaving, even so, she could just tell them that her parents had called her to take her away. There really wasn't much they could do to stop the Tyryl family from doing what they wanted. It was a trademark of the family... good or bad. Right behind them, Erin followed and Rue could tell that he was just as edgy as she was.

"Its just..." she paused then, pushed open the double doors and stepped out into the deserted hallway before finishing, "My parents never worried or liked me all that much. It's just... strange is all."

"War does strange things to people, Rue. Maybe they've finally realized they love you," Erin offered as he stood in the hall with them. Rue didn't look at him, the word 'love' filling her with a rush of emotions that were hard to control. There had never been any love in that house and to suddenly be bombarded with it was too much to take or understand.

"Maybe," she whispered in response, then started down the hall. They'd said they would be in the southern wing of the school and would meet them halfway to the exit. So, Rue started down the hall towards that end of the school. The walls shook violently outside of the auditorium, the sounds of fighting much louder than before and it turned her stomach as she walked quickly down the hall. A sudden crash from one of the rooms had a young boy tossed into the hall bloodied and unnaturally still. From the room beyond another man stepped out into the hall and spotted them. Nemesis took off like a rocket and tackled the man, bringing him down in two seconds flat. The dire wolf's jaw locked on the man's throat, silencing him forever.

"He says we should move to a different hallway, this one is too close to the fighting," Erin said, generating his bond's thoughts to the other two. Rue nodded in response, her heart in her throat at the sight before her. Her fingers were curled tightly around Luca's as they walked and took a right down another intersecting hall. Once they reached the end of it, they took a left and continued on their way to the southern passages. Just as her mother had said, the southern area of the school was less frightening.

As the hall ended, they took a right and continued down, but at the far end, Rue made out her mothers form followed by her taller, darker, father. Their white hair the same as her own and Erin's. Her heart lurched to her throat as she watched the two make their way quickly to them followed by their large dire wolves. Her fathers wolf was a silvery gray where as her mothers was a beautiful white. Both bonds were twice the size of Nemesis as he still had a lot of growing to do. Slowly, her father and mother approached them and Rue couldn't help the shivering through her entire body.

Nemesis, however, jumped in front of Erin and transformed immediately, "Hey! Nemesis, what's wrong?" Erin asked sharply. To which their mother looked sharply to her husband right next to her.

"Don't! You promised me!" the woman shouted in fear and rage. Rue watched as her father shoved his wife aside, the force of his hit knocking her into the wall with a sharp crack. Rue lunged forward, her fingers leaving Luca's hand. Everything was in slow motion for her, time seemed to stand still as she could see the bright red streak across the wall and caking to her mothers perfectly white hair.

"Has to be done, woman. If the Tyryl's want an edge in this war, the weak ones must be snuffed out," her fathers voice grated, bringing her right back to darkness. The times when he'd called her nothing but weak, an outcast from the family and not deserving of the Tyryl name. He'd even put that cursed name on Erin who sympathized with misfits and others who were not of noble or blue blood. Her eyes lifted to look up at him, shock on her face as she was rooted to the spot by his ever cold words. The weapon came up from out of nowhere as all Rue could see was her fathers glistening green eyes that were nothing but cold malice.

The gun shot filled the air, but she couldn't hear it. The pain came afterwards, but it was too late then. A sharp breath filled her lungs for a mere moment before she stumbled backwards and finally collapsed onto the floor. The world became dark to her in a matter of seconds, the last sound was of a sharp growling bark off to her left. Her fading eyesight caught Nemesis lunging forward and latching onto the larger silver wolf who had also transformed. Then it was nothing at all, no air, no sight, no hearing. Just darkness.

Erin Tyryl

"Rue!" he screamed as the gun shot filled the air. Blood covered her chest as she fell backwards and crumpled to the floor. Nemesis didn't think twice as he lunged forward and engaged his fathers wolf. Erin dropped, clutching his rib cage as the two wolves fought furiously. Nemesis was no match for his fathers bond, he never was. Erin figured he was probably going to die in this fight, but he was going to take his bastard of a father with him. Tears flooded his eyes as he looked at his sisters all too still body lying on the floor.

"You bastard! I'll kill you!" Erin screamed in pure rage, both for his mother and for his sister. The taller man pointed his weapon at Erin and slowly tightened on the trigger.

"You should have figured this would come sooner or later. With or without war, you both would have been disposed of. Now it's just more dire that we get rid of you. The Tyryl family needs to stand on top, no matter what. I won't let anything take us down."

Erin ground his teeth, stood up and lunged for his father.
