Walker McMullin

You feeling lucky, smartass?

0 · 918 views · located in Tyrillia Academy

a character in “Tyrillia Academy”, as played by Thundergod1020

Description

Image
Full Name:: Walker Demarra McMullin
Theme Song:: Kiss Me, I'm Irish
Gender:: Male
Age:: 18
Rank:: Misfit
Sexuality:: Straight

Appearance:: Look at the picture. His eyes are prismatic(they look like they're constantly changing color based on the light), and he has several old, but not ugly, scars on his torso, arms, and legs, but not his face or back, the face because he's that lucky, and his back because he's never shown it to anyone in a fight. Now completely missing his left arm.
Personality:: Cheerful, outgoing, and positively violent should you harm his friends.
Likes:: Playing anything involving luck, freerunning, singing, friendship, cute girls, children that are sweet, dark chocolate
Dislikes:: Anything that puts his friends in harm's way, stuck-up snobs, white chocolate.
Fears:: Losing a friend and having been fully able to stop it.
Relationship:: If there's an NPC at the academy and she's 18 and older, it's an 80% chance she was feeling as lucky as Walker.(Translation: No crush, but he does show an interest in Hayley Highmore, and banged almost every legal girl in the school that's an NPC(or a PC, if you want that romantic subplot))
Skills:: A great hand-to-hand and knife combatant from having lived in the slums, he also has great cooking skills from working with his friend's restaurant. He also has a good idea of the probability that something will happen, mainly because he and Brenna probably influenced it.
Clubs:: Fencing, Choir, the sole member of the Cooking Club.

Image
Name of Bond:: Brenna
Race of Bond:: Puca(shapeshifting luck imp, a black horse with glowing eyes and mane is it's most common form)
Personality of Bond:: A joking trickster, Brenna isn't afraid to mess around with people, save Walker, who she shares her Bond with. She's not afraid of doing what she believes is right, but seeing as she's classified as a Chaotic creature, these views can be a little screwy.
Skills of Bond:: Can manipulate the luck of herself and others to the umpteenth degree, and can shapeshift, although she's restricted to a few forms, and her fur will always be dark. When in Horse form, she has an endless supply of stamina, and can run forever if need be. As a goblin, she shares Walker's cooking abilities, although this is mainly because she always accidentally knocks something into the food that improves it somehow. As a rabbit, her luck abilities increase for the lucky aspects, and as a goat, the lesser aspects. As a dog, she's just flat out cute little Irish setter. Finally, although it puts her out for weeks in terms of using her luck magic for herself, is her Banshee form. Used only when truly vengeful, she turns into a being few have seen and stayed sane for, and even then, they pass out from fear, sometimes completely forgetting about that form by their mind actively rejecting that memory. Walker likens it to a visit from the Slenderman that you can survive.

History:: What's to say? Never knew his father, mom died during childbirth, raised on the streets, found himself always on the upside of things as long as Brenna was around, and eventually got shipped here.
Family:: Brenna, does he need anyone else?
Other:: Loves pissing Nobles and Bluebloods off by ruining their luck.

So begins...

Walker stood at the doors to the auditorium, smirking as Mr. Narnia went through what sounded to him like the most hollow speech ever given. He had woken up late, thanks to his alarm clock suddenly breaking down on him, and had been lucky enough for Brenna to be willling to give him a lift to the school. Then again, when your Bond is essentially a horse on fire, the lift she provides is anything but pleasant, but not without perks. As they had ridden to school, some noble walking outside had tripped, and his morning donut that he was going to enjoy went up in the air and had ended up in Walker's hand, solving the breakfast problem. Once he had reached the main area, Brenna shapeshifted into a rabbit and hopped into his backpack, allowing the two of them to be lucky enough to not get caught by anyone as they made their way to the assembly and got to the door. He felt it best to stand at the entrance as long as Aslan was speaking. His luck held out, making him unnoticeable as he entered save for the few other misfits that hung around the entrance. Upon the end of the speech, he went and got his key, proceeding to his room. It now seems like a good time to point out how probability distorts around Walker and Brenna. Say they were trying to shoot a moving target. If they had about a 1/100 chance that they would hit it, they would probably miss. However, the more improbable it is that something will happen, the more likely it becomes for them to succeed. As Walker likes to put it, "A one in one hundred chance is unlikely, but everyone knows one in a million is a sure thing." It just so happened that as he stepped into the room, he tripped on the doorjamb and his suitcases flew through the air. However, the suitcases not only landed right by the closet, but also ended up opening as they landed, making his unloading of clothes that much easier!

Sayer Redmond

Sayer entered the room just in time to view Walkers spectacular suitcase landing/fall. Raising his eyebrows slightly, but not saying a word, he placed his luggage on the bed. Ignoring Walker for a few minutes he carefully unpacked his neatly folded clothing into the wardrobe. the next thing he did was to place his model of the school on top op the wardrobe. Satisfied that his unpacking was finished he turned to Walker.
Sayer didn't waste too much time on words, "I'm Say Redmond. It's a pleasure to meet you Walker."

With a polite smile he moved away from walker to the door. Sayer had to go find Aslan, chances were the guy hadn't even unpacked his stuff yet and was just waiting for Sayer to show up so he could tell him to do it. Ah, but such was the life of the lackey. Sayer had tried really hard to convince his family that the alliance was not needed this summer, but they had not agreed. So now he was stuck with Aslan, again.

Turning to Walker before he left Sayer said, "I'm going to visit Alsan. You can come if you'd like, but I don't think you would." Turning back to the door he walked out into the hallway and, walking as slow as possible, made his way to Aslan's room. Taking a deep breath and saying a mental prayer for a sudden lightning bolt Sayer knocked on the door.

"I'm Sayer Redmond. It's a pleasure to meet you Walker."
Walker grinned warmly in response, his few sets of clothes(You really only need 7 of each, at most!) all set away, and his cooking knives all set up in their racks, each polished to perfection. When he spoke, it wasn't the general Misfit accent, but something else, with almost a lilt to it.
"Well, Sayer, your knowing my name saves me the trouble of introducing myself as well, but still, a pleasure to meet you! As for meeting Goldilocks, I'd rather trust Brenna with shiny objects. I'm not the kind of guy who really appreciates being treated like scum because both my parents did me the inconvenience of dying."
Brenna smacked him upside the head for that, weakly though, still being a rabbit. "Watch it."
Walker shook his head and laughed weakly. "Sorry about that... I just have a problem with him. You go ahead." After Sayer had left, he laid on the bed, letting Brenna out from his backpack.

Walker walked around the room for a bit, and then decided to get out of the dorm and explore for a bit, Brenna riding along in his bag. As he walked, a bottle missed his head, thrown by a Blueblood at the lowly little Misfit. In response, Walker and Brenna gave him some bad luck, making his pants button realize that this kid was too fat for it, and left in a rather violent manner... Hitting the blueblood's crush in the eye. When he went to check if she was okay, she recognized that he had tried hurting Walker, a former lover, then slapped him and ran off. Walker chuckled at the high and mighty getting the worst punishment imaginable: a woman scorned. He also made a mental note to check up on that girl again, she had been a great girl, until she learned he was of too low a class for them to go on. They still had the occasional stolen glances and slightly longer than needed touches, but no further. Thinking about this, he walked down the hall with a soft grin on his face.

Walker continued his strolls of exploration through the halls, looking at everything around him. As he walked, he flipped a small, bright medallion with a fleur-de-lis engraved on it, all he had to show of his mother. Brenna wriggled out of the backpack and shifted into her goblin form, walking alongside Walker.

Walker and Brenna sat down in the cafeteria, having been in the cafeteria when lunch was called, with Walker eating a salad and sharing it with Bunny Brenna. Of course, Walker also had a steak on his plate. He was hungry, dangit, and if he couldn't enjoy a bloody(literally and figuratively) steak, then the rest of the school would be having a LOT of bad luck. As he ate his steak, Brenna looked up from her arugula to talk to him.
"Well, your roommate seems like a good guy. Better than being forced to live with Aslan, at least." Walker laughed at what she said, and started cutting another piece of steak to nibble on.
"I know, it's just... weird, you know? My first year here, and I'm already wondering if there's anyone NEW here. I mean new new, someone I've never met anywhere before..."
Brenna licked his hand as she listened, getting some of the sauce that had fallen on it. "Hey, don't worry, kiddo," she said, finishing up the spill, "You'll do well. I promise."
Walker smiled, and pet her on the head.
"Thanks, Brenna. You always know how to cheer me up." With this, he continued on his first steak of three, while Brenna kept nibbling her lettuce, sitting on her hind legs while she held the veggie like a cute little bunny.

Eilonwy
She heard the announcements and turned to her Bond.
Eilonwy looked on nervously as Sheela started grinning, still in pixie form, somewhat evilly. "Oh, lovely. Rane will have to go to lunch. Trion won't let her skip."
The girl nodded. "That's only because of the time she wouldn't stop working on accounts. Trion would rather hurt her than have her skip."
The Bond and the girl headed into the lunch room, quickly stopping so Sheela could get tomatoes, and Eilonwy her own lunch. For some reason, the wind spirit loved tomatoes more than any other thing.
Eilonwy thought for a minute before choosing a glass of milk, orange juice, and a ham sandwich. She picked up a whole lot of napkins, knowing that Sheela was going to be messy. She looked around before picking a table near a boy with some sort of rabbit Bond.
Sheela looked at her curiously. "Milk?"

Aoide
She did not want to break for lunch, but Trion forcefully insisted, freezing her knives in midair. Aoide scowled. "I get the point, now let me get them."
The dragon wouldn't even let her go to her own room to return the knives, some of which were placed rather obviously on her person. She sighed, heading to the table Eilonwy had picked after getting a lot of raw steak (which the chef had glared at her for), and only some bread and cheese for herself.
She frowned. "Trion, you better eat all of this without changing size. It's annoying when you do."
Eilonwy turned to her. "Hello, Rane." The girl seemed very angry. "I see you've been throwing things." She scanned the knives.
Aoide had forgotten that she had made Eilonwy angry. She smiled stiffly. "Hello Eilonwy."
Eilonwy seemed to have been waiting for that. She smiled and dumped the glass of milk over her best friend's head.
Aoide shot up, screaming loudly. Both of the Bonds separated themselves from their humans and retreated. Things were about to get nasty. They watched as the white haired girl pulled out a knife from her sleeve and threw it, just barely missing and ending up thudding in the table very close to a rabbit Bond.
Eilonwy sighed. "You do realize, you're in the wrong?"
Aoide scowled. "I. Hate. Milk."
Eilonwy frowned and started on the lecture she'd probably been preparing since the confrontation.

Walker stood up, glad that the girl's aim had been off, and yanked out the knife from the table, walking over to Aoide and Eilonwy. Standing before them, he slammed the knife in the table, burying it up to the hilt thanks to a weak spot in the wood that happened to be there, making him seem a lot stronger than he really was. His rage was tasteable. And it did not taste good.
"Do anything that could harm Brenna again, and I will personally guarantee you will WISH you were aiming at me." Brenna, realizing Walker was deadly serious, both due to the taste of rage in the air and that he was speaking in italics, decided to help make his point by tossing a bad luck curse Aoide's way. She was going to have a hard time wielding her precious little knives now! Walker, knowing what Brenna had just done, put his hands in the air and walked back to his plate, cutting into his steak.

Brenna perked her ears up, looked around, nudged Walker from the funk he was now in because of Aoide, and pointed over to Berach.
"Hey, there's one of the teachers who was at the ceremony. Go talk to him and make sure he knows you." Walker kind of half-chuckled at this, thinking Brenna was joking.
"Come on, Brenna, isn't the whole point of being a Misfit who manipulates everyone's luck like some sort of plaything to NOT have teachers aware of me?" Brenna laughed at this in turn.
"Nonsense, get your butt over there and talk to him!"
"But I-"
"Now. I'm only a rabbit for the moment, but I WILL go Terror on your ass." Walker groaned in submission to the one who wears the pants in this situation, wiped his face off with his napkin, placed his silverware on his plate, and stood up, walking over to the teacher, carrying Brenna in his arms in rabbit form.
"Uh, hi. I'm Walker McMullin, and this little rabbit right here is my Bond, Brenna." Just as Sayer noticed, Berach could hear that Walker's accent was in no way Misfit, despite outward appearances. Also of note were two other things: the fleur-de-lis medallion around his neck, and the fact that his Bond was a rabbit, a dwarf rabbit to be precise.

Aoide
"Well then. I suppose I can't throw these anymore." Aoide said sullenly, still dripping milk.
Trion's voice communicated displeasure. Honestly, if you had hit the Bond, you'd probably get expelled or something.
She frowned. "It wasn't intentional."
And Eilonwy jumped back in. "Do you ever think? Honestly, Rane, you really can be a spoiled brat."
Aoide first turned red, then turned pale. She was furious. "I'm a spoiled brat?"
Her Bond offered his own opinion. Actually, you kind of are.
She turned, if possible even paler. Her voice was extremely cold. "In that case, I better not see either of you three anywhere for a very, very, very long time."
She left after grabbing the kinfe from the table, and this time, she left Trion behind as well. On the way, she stopped at the computer lab and emailed the steward, asking for him to send her all the paperwork that needed to be done, as well as the paperwork from the last five years.

Eilonwy

"We're doomed." Sheela murmured. "Though, Trion, old buddy, you I pity immensely."
The dragon seemed put out, but continued to eat.
Eilonwy sighed. "She may act like a brat some days, but she isn't spoiled, is she?"
Sheela frowned. "No. Not at all. I know you hate apologizing for Rane, but could you please, anyway? It was a Bond. And then we need to clean up this mess." The pixie turned into a small tornado, and all the milk disappeared in the wind. Sheela resurfaced as the falcon. "That was easy. I still like tomatoes better."
Eilonwy slowly walked over to the rabbit Bond and the other boy, who had been talking to a teacher. "I'm really sorry about that. Rane and I should probably have picked a private place without anyone there. I'd also like to apologize for Rane. She's just shy."
Sheela agreed quietly. "Yeah, Lonnie, very people shy."

Everything Aoide did started going wrong. Her knife cut it's way out of it's holding spot, falling out and getting lost somewhere in the halls, the email she needed to get was corrupted and never sent, and the milk started to smell. The more she did, the more she would screw up. This was the curse Brenna had inflicted on Aoide: failure at every turn. Oh, she'd lift the curse later, no doubt, but for now... All Aoide was going to be doing was suffering. (Can't really call this an auto, it's the things around her being affected, not her.)

Amalthea Oprah

While the her order went in Amalthea waited and when she was about to talk to Edryk and start a random conversation but he had suddenly fell to the ground and for a few seconds she was in shock. When her spirits came back to her she fell to her knees and shook Edryk telling him to wake up. Because of her connection with Sloan the three headed dog had felt her anxiety and her sorrow so he had come back bursting through the doors and ran to Ama.

"Calm down Ama, calm down," he tried to sooth her bu nothing worked.

"EDRYK!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Girardo came out of a part in the cafeteria and yelled at the others, "Don't just stand there, help me you guys!"

As the boys brought Edryk to the infirmary Ama walked slowly half stubling but not falling thanks to Sloan's support and she stopped at his bed where Girardo stayed and comforted him. She didn't even know what to say when he had opened his eyes. She just stood at the foot of his bed and cried all the tears in her eyes then scolded him.

"You stupid idiot!" She half yelled half sobbed, "Why do you want to make me worry so much! I really hope you're not doing this on purpose or else you'll have a god reason to fall to the floor!"

Berach Vulian

He stood in a corner of the cafeteria observing all of the students, some familiar faces and some new. All of them made him think of his childhood days and making a mess in the cafeteria by starting food fights.
"Do you remember those day?" Berach asked Sulimon

How in the world could I possibly forget? Sulimon said as he licked his spiked paw.

"Uh, hi. I'm Walker McMullin, and this little rabbit right here is my Bond, Brenna."

A boy said as he came along with a dwarf rabbit following behind. The boy's accent was very pronounced and he immediately knew he was a Misfit.
"Well, nice to meet you lad," Berach smiled at him, "I presume you know who I am so I won't bore you with introductions, but I do have a question for you. Are you ready for Sports class?"

Suddenly a boy he recognized as the Blue Blood Edryk Gregrovitch fell to the floor and Berach excused himself from the boy then asked some boys to get the boy to the infirmary. Boys were strong and were the ones who had to assist those in need. There was also a girl crying so he tried to make her feel better but it didn't work so she left to be with Edryk. When they left he went back to Walker.

"Sorry, this doesn't usually happen."

Aoide
She was definitely not having a good day. For some reason, since she'd left the cafeteria, things had started going wrong. She'd lost the knife, the milk was smelling strange, she'd tripped up the stairs, she'd gotten lost several times, but she'd finally made it into her room. She quickly went into the bathroom and started taking a shower, shrieking as the water ended up freezing cold.
It didn't matter, though. Anything to get the milk out of her hair and the rest of her. Then she would wait until all her work came in, but till then, no sense in being idle. She grabbed a new set of clothes, then tried to find the book she'd kept with her, only to realize it wasn't there. She frowned and sulked instead, staring at the ceiling.

Eilonwy
The boy hadn't acknowledged her yet, and neither had the Bond. "Are you angry at us? I'd rather you say something than ignore us, please."
Sheela had turned into a dragon just like Trion, but she was black and grey instead. "I hope he answers soon. I want to go fly for a while, and it can get chaotic when I'm inside."

Walker laughed at his question, his not-really-Misfit accent showing through.
"I was raised in a Misfit society, my job consisted of carrying the heavy stuff and cooking, and I've had just as much bad luck as good. With all due respect, I have a feeling I can take on Sports class." This was when the Blueblood had fallen, and when Berach went off, Walker turned to Brenna to speak.
Brenna: "Was that you?"
Walker "No, I thought you did that!"
Brenna: "Either way, we need to scoot."
Walker: "Good idea."
The two hurried off, not getting too far before running into... Eilonwy, Walker believed her name was. She seemed a bit nervous, but his own bad luck was kicking in, after having used most of his good luck earlier in the day, and he happened to have a slight problem where he would completely forget what he was doing every so often. The time he was standing still while she was waiting for her response happened to be one of those times.
"Are you angry at us? I'd rather you say something than ignore us, please."
Walker shook his head and remembered what she had said earlier, and spoke apologetically.
"No, what happened, happened. Things like that tend to happen around me, no use denying it. But where are my manners? I am Walker McMullin. Judging from what I've heard spoken from others, you are Eilonwy, correct?"

Eilonwy
Eilonwy grinned, pleased that he knew her name. "Yep. It's very nice to meet you, though I wish it was in better circumstances." She knew that one day she'd probably laugh over this, but right now, she didn't really see the humor. She knew Rane was about to go off and do something stupid any moment.
She decided to introduce her Bond. "This is Sheela." The current dark dragon blew a miniature wind at them in way of greeting. "Is there any way we can make it up to you?" She felt that it really was necessary to make up for it. She would have freaked out if it had been Sheela, so she didn't blame Walker.

Walker grinned at the prospect of her making it up to him. However, despite what those of you reading this may think, he wasn't thinking of anything wrong. See, Walker had a code to live by, and his code was simple: Anyone his age and up until 22 was acceptable dating/banging material, 17 on down was not. He'd treat Eilonwy as a sister, nothing more.
"Well, although I don't see why YOU have to make it up to me when Aoide was the cause, something to eat at a later date would be nice!" As he spoke, he rubbed the top of her head, tousling her hair. "And before I forget, this is my Bond, Brenna the puca!" he added, holding out a black dwarf rabbit with golden eyes to Eilonwy. The rabbit nodded to her and spoke in a soothing accented voice like Walker.
"Charmed to meet you, girlie."

"It's because I started it. I didn't realize that Rane'd been throwing today." Eilonwy said. "Anyway, I will catch up to you later, and it's nice to meet you, Brenna, but I have to talk to the rest of my family. They're really curious about the Academy. Bye."
She smiled, and walked out towards the computer lab. It would be nice to video chat with her family for a while, and it would help her forget all the things that had happened today.
"It should be fun to see what they think of the Academy." Sheela said, flying ahead of her, then looping back.
"It should." Eilonwy agreed.

(She does, he doesn't.)
Walker nodded and bowed to her in a large, overexaggerated gesture.
"Very well, I shall seek dismissal." After he said this, he walked off, Brenna changing into her goblin form to walk beside him.
"She seems nice." Brenna said as they walked down the hallway.
"Yes, but too young for my tastes." Walker responded, catching a glimpse of Maya walking down a nearby hall. "See, MAYA is an example of acceptable. Eighteen, cute, and doesn't slap me when we talk... Which is why I'm still surprised she hasn't called me back..."
Brenna chuckled at this.
"Ooh, do I detect a crush?"
Walker: "No... Just shock that I'm the one wondering about the call."
Brenna: "Admit it. She out-attracted you."
Walker: *with a smirk on his face* "Alright fine, what do you want, a medal?"
Brenna: "No, just gloating rights!"

Maya just continued to explore the halls, looking for people to meet.
(Anyone wonder who the hell Maya is, look at the bottom of page 6.)

It was right about this time that Walker and Brenna fired a shot of bad luck his way, enough to screw his game over. Walker sniggered a little as he and Brenna watched from the shadows, their giggling hidden by by sounds of the ball, the feet of the people playing, and general white noise.

*******
Maya at this point was flying through the halls, tapping into Quetzalcoatl's magic to both make her lighter than air and to make the wind blow right at her feet so she could stay in the air for as long as she wanted.
"Where in the nine hells is everybody?" she said to herself, pulling a corner and drifting down the hall.

Suren was happy, she was playing against someone who had good speed. He went past her rather quickly, and said something about him playing fairly. "Fine, guess that means I will not kick you." SHe thought as she caught up to him, and was trying to block him.

He had great speed and was dribbling between his legs, making hard for her to steal it. When he went for a lay-up, she was able to knock-it out of his hand and then went to retreive it and went for the oppisite goal. She could hear a little noise coming from somewhere, like giggling almost.

"Come and get me!" She said to taunt him, knowing he could and she would try to make sure he wouldn't.
