"From what I know of Kelina she seems to be like she can take care of herself. Thanks, as for partying I have done my fair bit. I used to live in New York. There was some serious partying that went on there."
Alex nodded. "Yeah, she can. but she's also not used to dealing with guys like him." He said with a small smile. He nodded again. Thanks, as for partying I have done my fair bit. I used to live in New York. There was some serious partying that went on there. "Yeah, they're pretty well known for having crazy parties. They make us look like a pathetic bunch of farm kids." He had heard from a few people who moved to the city and hit up a few parties and the stories were always all the same, a bunch of rich kids getting drunk off expensive liquor and there usually involved someone with a bad cocaine habit and often some sort of hooker.

"So what the hell made a girl from New York decide she wanted to move to a craphole town like this?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "I mean I know people like to glorify small towns but really its not all its cracked up to be. Everyone is in everyone else's business and all the old people are nosey and offensive."

He watched as Damien got up, seeming annoyed and then as Kelina followed him. Well that was never good.

Blair looked at him and smiled. "I don't know about the farm kids thing though..." She said looking at him. He was very good looking and she hadn't drank to much but she still held the beer that he had offered. She opened it and took a sip. She needed alcohol.

She needed the buzz to take care of life. "Well I left New York because, I didn't know where else to turn. A friend stayed here on vacation once and thought it was cute. My family owned a very big winery in Italy and well it ended up losing a lot of money. Which mean i was on my own. Making me entirely broke. And for that. I am here. Trying to get a job soon! I didn't get to go to college so i am hoping to become a waitress."

Maybe she drank more then she knew.

A bit of her tension was relieved when Damien had seemed open enough about Kelina re-joining him. She slid in the buggy carefully and let him talk, thinking on his words and paying utmost attention to them unlike her stunt by the fire. She twisted a little in her seat as he was beginning to open up slightly to her, something she felt wasn’t routine for the average bad boy.

“Girlie?” she echoed then, amused. She grinned but shook herself out of it to find her response. “Well this ‘girlie’, likes to talk and socialize, meet new people,” her smile returned to Damien. Before it could inflate his ego, even though at present he was very mellowed, she averted her gaze to keep listing what was fun to her. “Uh, let’s see. Rides and dancing can be fun.” The definition of fun were rarely brought to people’s forefront of the mind and her list were rather short and unoriginal.

“So what about you?” she prompted for discussion. “And where are all those girls that should be drooling at your feet?” Her brows perked up with a little smile. She’d seen Damien around before just never got to know him or put a name to the distant face before. Kelina was glad that at the very least had changed.

Damien listened fairly intently as she began to rattle off a list of things that she found fun. "Are you just pulling this list out of your ass? Because it kinda sounds like it," he said with a smirk. "So what about you? And where are all those girls that should be drooling at your feet?" she asked with a small smile and a raised eyebrow. "I was approached tonight. Unfortunately, I'm a little too sober to take any of the girls here home. It's kind of saddening to see how ridiculously sloppy they all get when they're drunk or high. It's kind of amusing, actually," he said, laughing a little and looking down at his knees.

"Things I find fun, huh? Well. Usually I end up so out of my mind that I wouldn't even have the slightest clue." His mind drifted to drugs and alcohol and whatnot, and the crook of his elbow started becoming agonizingly itchy. He lifted his left shirt sleeve and the injection sites on his arm were red and puffy from being scratched throughout the evening. "Shit." Damien quickly rolled his sleeve back down, as he'd almost forgotten who was in his presence. Hope she didn't see that, he thought to himself, even though he knew that there was a better chance of her having seen it than not having seen it. I just ruin everything.... he thought as he leaned his head back against the back of the buggy, inwardly hating himself for his stupidity.

Alex watched the fire burn and crackle in the darkness as Blair spoke. He dropped his empty beer can into the grass and grabbed another. He cracked it open almost immediately but didn't take a sip yet.

He just sort of nodded half-assedly and took a very long sip of his beer to fill the silence. There wasn't a whole lot he could say to that. His idea of a tragic backstory was when his friend's parents lost a bunch of money in legality issues with their company and had to move and when they down-graded he had to share the house's third bathroom with his sister.

Thankfully he spotted the s'mores stuff he'd heard was around here sitting on a nearby chair. The chocolate bars were eaten or laying in the grass covered in ants but there was a bag of marshmallows and a box of graham crackers still looking okay on the flimsy plastic chair. Alex reached over and dragged the chair closer before lifting it and placing it beside the chair he was resting his feet on and between him and Blair.

Trying to roast marshmallows after everything he'd drank probably wasn't the smartest idea but he had drank far too much to realize this. He wrangled one of the sticks through the arm of the chair and stabbed a marshmallow onto it before holding it out over the fire. "Growing up in the city, you probably never got to do this sort of thing as a kid, huh?" He asked. "We have this little fire pit in our back yard and when I was a kid any time I had a sleep over or something we would stay up roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories." Granted it had mostly Spanish ghost stories that Carmina would tell them and was far from 'ruffing it' but still.

Blair looked at him and smiled. It grew silent and he with that he went a chair with smore stuff. With that she followed him sitting down beside the chair.

This guy was sweet, even though he might have been playing her she liked it. She really liked it. "No I never have ever had one."

She said looking at him. "Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you have any ghost stories on the back of your hand? I bet you have some good ones." She said flirting a bit. She liked him.

Not that she was the best. But she liked it.

"I was approached tonight. Unfortunately, I'm a little too sober to take any of the girls here home. It's kind of saddening to see how ridiculously sloppy they all get when they're drunk or high. It's kind of amusing, actually." She nodded along with a quiet laugh then shrugged. “It’s a pity,” she said.

Upon seeing his left arm though, her amusement were slowly drained. For a moment she contemplated letting him know she had seen it…but it was probably re-hidden for a reason. Yet her eyes betrayed her again, for they lingered too long in the spot the injections had evidently been. She swallowed and skimmed her fingertips along his sleeve. “So, why do you do it?” she asked gently, genuinely curious. Perhaps a dumb question. She assumed it had something to do with escaping the cruel reality. He could have moved out of home earlier, broke the habit earlier....not that she could know what that was like. There were so many ways to act out and defy parental figures and allow worries to fade and she wanted to know why Damien selected his particular behaviors. There were something about him that stood out, even from that dark kind of crowd.

"Don’t scratch,” she added. Again, not quite sherlock’s statement but it were a fair polite warning that she’d intervene if he went to scratch for a second time in front of her.

"So, why do you do it?" she questioned, her fingertips running along his sleeve. He moved his arm away, feeling slightly uncomfortable. "Don't scratch," she added, and Damien gave her a slight look. What did she care what he did to himself? She didn't know him really, so why did she care? "Well, my mom died when I was 6, after having my second little brother. Dad became an alcoholic, and when I was 13, he found a really young girl to buy things for so that she would sleep with him. Or whatever. Long, pointless sob story short, my dad wasn't around for us really, and I ended up getting into the 'wrong crowd' in high school. Unfortunately, habits and addictions are not easy things to break," he said, looking down at his hands. He cracked a small smile and laughed a little at just how ridiculous it all sounded when put together like that in succession. "I always hoped I wouldn't be like him. But that's exactly what I'm doing," he said, getting out of the buggy angrily. "God dammit!" he added, indignantly kicking the buggy.

He turned away from Kelina, running his hands through his hair but stopping them so that he could lean his head into them as he looked up. "What a screw up I've turned out to be," he said softly, twisting his face a bit in disgust at himself. He took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. His arm was still itching uncontrollably, but he was doing everything he could to avoid scratching it. "My whole life has just been leading up to me becoming a failure. What's the point? What is the point in living a life like that?" he asked rhetorically, as he didn't particularly want an answer to his question because he was afraid of what it might be: that there is no point.

Alex turned his marshmallow over the flame. "Shame. That's one of the only things I actually remember from my childhood." He said. "Sitting around the fire getting bitten by mosquitoes and burning marshmallows to a blackened crisp." He mused.

At her question of knowing any ghost stories, he nodded. " Kind of. Most of them were stupid kid ones, you know Bloody Mary and stuff. Or urban legends like Chupacabra. But that one was always just sort of amusing because it's not like any of us had goats to lure it out. But then she went and added the part about how since people didn't really have goats that sometimes it would settle for any children who were left alone at night. " He explained shaking his head. Don't think any of us really slept that night. But none of us wanted to be the one to wimp out and suggest going inside "

He pulled the stick off the fire and blew on the marshmallow to help cool it down. He then plucked it off the stick and popping it into his mouth. "You have actually roasted marshmallows before though, right?" He asked.

Listening to him speak was fun, he seemed like a great guy. She grabbed another beer taking a sip. She was thirsty and she really wanted to get drunk, do something stupid and worry about life and jobs tomorrow.

With that she made a smile towards him. The story he was telling was amazing. As she never did the whole camping ordeal. "No unfortunately this is entirely new." She said looking at him.

She was hoping he wasn't judging her as the broke and not roasting marshmellows girl. She most likely should have stayed in the city but she wanted to try something new. Which worked for her. She wanted an adventure and this already was the beginning of an exciting adventure.

A frown was forced upon her face. It were clearly something better left alone yet Kelina had pushed that step further that shouldn’t have been pushed. Kelina climbed out of the buggy brought herself to walk around to Damien hesitantly, to tend to the mood she had put him in. Though the right words were hard to find and escaped her. Yet she couldn’t stand by him in silence letting him get consumed in negative memories, thoughts and feelings. In fact complete silence could convince Damien he were this bad human being he was making out to be.

“You’ll only fail if you quit trying.” Kelina shrugged softly. And god, it sounded cheesey but it were true. Damien didn’t seem the kind to lay down and surrender to anything he didn’t want. Even if it were a habit or addiction.

After a brief moment's silence she spoke again. “Do you want me to leave you for a while?” she wondered aloud, scanning his face for a moment. Though her feet already started to shuffle away, presuming so. They were at a party and it was supposed to be fun and lighthearted and Kelina had drained all of that from Damien. Needless to say she was less than desirable company.

"You'll only fail if you quit trying." There was a pause before she spoke again. "Do you want me to leave you for a while?" she asked, and this question in particular caught his attention. Damien could see that she was beginning to move away from him. He reached out, gently grasping her upper arm. "No, I don't want that," he said as he slid his hand down her arm, lightly pulling her towards him. He brushed his hand on hers for a brief moment before he finally let his hand fall back to his side. With his other hand, he cupped her face. Her face was so close to his now; they were practically nose-to-nose. He quickly removed his hand from her face and turned away from her, trying to hide the fact that he was, indeed, blushing at the situation.

When he could feel that the hotness had receded somewhat from his cheeks, he turned back to her. "Let's just, uh, go back and sit with Alex and New Girl, eh? If you want, that is," Damien suggested, motioning in their direction. What has gotten into me with this girl?? Damien wondered, perplexed by the fact that she had such a weird affect on how he acted. He couldn't wrap his head around it. "She's so intriguing," he said. His hand shot up and clasped over his mouth. What was supposed to have been a thought had just come right out of his mouth.

Kelina blinked stunned by his actions, particularly as she felt she were only getting under his skin in all the wrong ways. She watched his hand slide down her arm and pull her towards him, inhaling sharply when he was only being gentle. The last thing she expected were to be nose-to-nose with Damien, captivated by the little distance that kept them apart and having his hand cup her face. Alas, upon release, she found her own heart to be racing and her chest rising and falling. It were very possible that she froze up entirely, including her breath.

She ran a hand through her hair and nodded along with his suggestion, without it even really being finished. Her legs led the way again before hearing: "She's so intriguing," escape Damien’s mouth. Kelina glanced back to him and she started to laugh. “The new girl or me?”

As she walked on, she slowed spotting the brunette haired girl and Alex chatting away and Kelina had a feeling it was about to turn flirtatious. Or even more so. Her lips pulled to the side feeling half responsible for the new girl, yet Blair had her own consciousness to make her own decisions. And Alex weren’t dangerous. In fact quite the good guy in his own way. She stopped and turned to Damien. “Do we…I don’t really wanna intrude…” She made vague gestures towards the pair ahead.

"The new girl or me?" Kelina laughed as she glanced back at him. He gave her a smirk before meandering after her. As they came up to Alex and the New Girl, Kelina stopped and turned to him. “Do we…I don’t really wanna intrude…” Damien stopped in front of her, looking over her shoulder slightly to look at the others who seemed to be having a good time together. He looked back at her and brushed a strand of hair out of her face and behind her ear. "Well," he started, a smirk growing on his lips, putting his weight on his right leg and crossing his arms. "What would you rather do?"

He turned away from her, starting to walk back to the buggy they'd been sitting in before. He put his hands in his pockets, smirking to himself. "Are you coming, K?" The nickname just sort of came out; however, he didn't mind the sound of it, especially since most of his friends called him "D." "The night is ours," he said, turning to her again, his smirk still going strong, as he walked backwards. Then he tripped. Straight up tripped over a rock as he was walking backward. "Well, shit," he said, laughing at himself and lying back on the grass, staring up at the sky full of stars. "You know? It's not so bad down here," he noted.

Her own bright grin were revealed as he smirked again at her, asking what she’d rather do but after going on about her idea of fun, it were probably more so a rhetorical question. Nonetheless she shrugged in response glancing back to Alex and Blair. When she looked back, Damien were already wandering off “Are you coming, K?” Pleasantly surprised by the new nickname he had given her, she followed him, giving him a girlish look over while his back were to her. Definitely a handsome guy.

"The night is ours," he said. She looked back to his eyes quickly as he turned, beginning to walk backward, his smirk still upon his face. In turn, it caused her bashful smile to appear until he tripped which she couldn’t help but laugh at. She cupped her hand over her mouth as if that would contain her laughter, feeling half-guilty for the amusement at another’s misfortune. Through laughing she tried to apologize and ask if he were okay but never quite got out the words.

There were more than few instances where a guy ruined his cool vibe and flew off the railing at a little mistake but Damien were laughing at himself and seemed fine while apparently getting comfy lying back on the grass which amused her equally as much. Kelina crossed her arms over her chest for a moment waiting for him to join her on his two legs again but he seemed set just resting back and star-gazing. With a gentle sigh, she figured she might as well join him. Standing over him expectantly probably looked more awkward than two people laying on the grass together. So after a glance around, she slowly, in cautious controlled movements, knelt beside him, almost having to use his chest to brace her fingers against when she felt off balance but shifted her fingertips to the grass instead.

Once her knees successfully planted on the cool earth, she rotated to see what this fuss was about, lying on your back and just looking up. She grew something of a content smile this time, staring up into the clear night sky. “It’s beautiful,” she agreed softly. It were admittedly a sight to get consumed in. And she would have allowed herself to get absorbed more, if she weren’t so conscious of Damien’s presence.

She turned her head to him a little. “You know what else? We are probably the only two sober ones lying on the grass.” She giggled but she didn’t mind it. No, it were agreeably comfy. Her gaze returned to the stars. Damien weren't so bad at all.

For a moment she stood over him, seemingly contemplating something. Then she lied down next to him, using his chest briefly as a support, which made his breath catch in his throat. He looked over at her once she was next to him, and he watched as a smile formed on her small lips. "It's beautiful," she said, and he smiled too, turning his gaze back to the stars. They were silent for a moment, and Damien heard her shift slightly. He looked over to her, and she had turned her head towards him a bit. "You know what else? We are probably the only two sober ones lying on the grass." A small giggle escaped her mouth, and he smiled again as she shifted her eyes back to the night sky above them.

He turned his body so that he could lean himself on his elbow nearest to her, the one he'd been scratching for most of the night; however, the itch had become absent as he had become distracted. He turned towards her, still leaning on his elbow so that he was laying in his side. "Yeah, the stars really are beautiful. Not as beautiful as what I'm looking at though." Wow, dude, that was lame. What's wrong with you tonight?? he thought to himself, after the words he spoke out loud. Before she could say anything, he sat up. "Sit up," he said, in a somewhat gently demanding way, gesturing for her to sit up. When she did, he turned his body slightly towards her. "You really are beautiful," he stated as he looked at her. He put his hand on her face, cupping the back of her jaw while his fingertips lingered just past her hairline in her hair. He leaned in and kissed her full of the mouth, lingering there for a moment before slowly pulling away, keeping his face close to hers still, staring at her lips for a brief second before looking up into her eyes.

"Yeah, the stars really are beautiful. Not as beautiful as what I'm looking at though." She were sure that had made her cheeks flush red, feeling his eyes on her and modestly attempting to avert the fine compliment. "Sit up," he said. Obliging Damien’s gentle demand to sit up, she turned her body to him slightly expectantly. "You really are beautiful". And those words just made her melt coming from Damien. Kelina placed one of her hands on his wrist, embracing his touch smiling softly to him. She would have muttered thank you, if she weren’t anxiously anticipating a kiss. But the moment his lips touched hers, she allowed her eyes to close, sliding her hands up his arms and resting them on his shoulders. When he pulled back that little bit and slowly, she found herself scooting slightly closer to his body with a gentle squeeze on his shoulders. Kelina pecked him on the lips once softly while he remained close and offered him a sweet smile, hoping it were okay that she had done so.

Her stomach had butterflies that she felt she had to cradle to get under control but a larger proportion of her wanted to stay close to him and keep her hands gently on the frame of his shoulders. Damien didn’t seem the kind to like being smothered in affection or clung onto and Kelina wasn’t the type to do that but just in case he changed his mind- regretting the kiss or whatever, or decided to shift out of reach, she were best to enjoy the willing closeness while she could. His company were something different. Enticing.

What is wrong with me tonight? Damien thought to himself. This girl is screwing with my brain, even though she isn't doing anything.. His dark eyes fell onto her lips again; he was biting the inside of his own lip as he stared at the girl in front of him. His fingertips brushed the skin on her cheek as he looked at her. He leaned in towards her and kissed the tip of her nose. His thumb rubbed her cheek gently, back and forth. He kissed her lips again; they were soft and made him see colours when he kissed them. It was unlike anything he'd ever felt. In his life, he'd always seen darkness and blackness; however, when he was with this girl, Kelina, he saw bright and vibrant colours that he couldn't explain.

"What do you think they're talking about?" Damien asked, motioning towards Alex and the New Girl, who never told him her name. "What's her name, anyway? When I asked she just kind of got up and walked off with you without answering," he chuckled, shaking his head. "It was kind of odd.."

She kissed him back and that got her pulse rising. He were anything but as rough as he looked. Damien were tender and careful and sweet. But, that'd be their little secret since the bad boy had a reputation to protect.

Kelina braced most her weight away from Damien and evaluated the body language and potential conversation between the new girl and Alex. “I don’t know,” she said squinting in concentration to the extent of over analysing the pair ahead. She snapped out of it and rested on a mocking response. Not like anyone expected a real answer anyway. “Probably like.” Kelina cleared her throat putting on a poor imitation of a man’s voice. “Hey baby, you look intoxicated enough to come to my place.” Not that Alex would ever be so sleazy. Or any guy in his right mind. She had a laugh at herself before continuing on to Damien’s other question, clearing her throat again and scratching her neck in a moment's thought. “It’s Blaire. What was so odd about it?” she inquired.
