Introduction
Some of the test subjects experienced no mutations, some were suddenly riddled with tumors, or developed late stage cancer over night. The project was almost scrapped until one of the subjects developed super strength. Another was found to be immune to poisons, another could catch things on fire with a touch. The project was deemed a success after years of work. Things were going well until one night one of the subjects being held against their will decided he was ready to go home.
Through undisclosed means this subject managed to break out of the facility, but before leaving he set off an explosion that destroyed the canisters of the chemical used on all the subjects. All he wanted was to be rid of the stuff, but instead he accidentally caused the chemical to rise up into the clouds, and the next day it rained down over a few small towns and cities near the facility. When the higher ups learned of what had happened they sent men to find the escaped subject and ran tests on the affected towns. As far as their data told them, there was no sign of mutation in anyone, and so everything was covered up, hidden away, the facility abandoned.
Roughly fifteen years after the explosion and the chemical rain the children born of the people who had been caught out in that rain began developing mutations, but without many of the side effects of the test subjects. It was almost as if their mutations had occurred naturally, and in some ways they did.
Over the next few years the military learned of these young people with incredible powers and abilities, and quickly putting two and two together, they created a task force assigned with the job of rounding all the mutants up and bringing them back to the newly restored facility. As you can imagine, they put up quite a fight. Eventually a leader emerged from among the mutants, a man named Romeo Margrave. Taking charge after learning that his own father was in charge of overseeing the entire X Gene project, he eventually defeated the man and, together with other test subjects and mutants, formed a secret compound where their kind would be relatively safe. The compound was kept hidden by the ability of a psychic among them who could create perfect illusions, making it seem like nothing more than flat desert to anyone who looked upon it.
Five years have passed since then.
Romeo has been the leader of the mutants during this time, but another powerful mutant has been trying to take that leadership from him, saying that their kind deserves more than this. That it is time the normal humans learned of their existence. He wants a revolution, but Romeo refuses to be a part of it. This dispute has begun to fracture the group. Some of them want to leave things the way they are and avoid any kind of conflict, while others want to let the world know what had happened. This fracturing and arguing over ideas threatens to split the group apart and could potentially spell disaster for all mutants.

Something snapped her attention out of dream state and she fell forward, catching herself on the ground. "What the hell?!?" She shouted, climbing to her feet carefully. She slowly turned, a low growl echoing her ears. A desert predator...how lovely, but what kind of creature was it? She couldn't see it. It was in the shadows, but she tripped over a root or something.
"Damn it..." Jamie muttered, backing up carefully.
"Nice kitty..."

Christine quickly grabbed a small garbage can that sat next to Fran and Romeo releasing the continents in her stomach into the garbage can. " crap... You didn't tell me it'll work this fast." She slumped down the wall next to both the leader and the female mutant panting a bit still hugging the garbage can. Christine's body temperature was always warm, but when it would get hot her temperature would lower to cool her down and same goes for when its cold her temperature would rise as it did now in the cold room. Christine looked up at Romeo after he spoke . " I can't afford to miss this trip to the city .."
She leaned her head back against the wall once more looking over at Fran noticing she looks cold but Levi gets my attention as she makes her way to my neck bawling up on my shoulder looking fro warmth in the crook of my neck. " give me a second Franky.. You can go on ill be there in a second."
"Sorry about that. Drugs don't affect my body anymore, so I often forget how quickly they can start to work on others." Romeo says, rubbing the back of his neck as he stands up, having knelt down to give Christine the cloth. Before he could say anything else to Franky the younger mutant was gone. Shaking his head a little Romeo pulls a chair over and helps Christine up into it. "Like I said, I'm not going to stop you from going. If Franky decides to take off before you're ready then I can give you a ride. Once I get things set up here I'll be joining you all."
Walking over to a telephone on the wall Romeo picks up the receiver and puts it to his ear before pressing a few buttons. He talks for about a minute to someone on the other end of the line before he hangs up.
A short time later two people arrive at the room, one is dressed like a doctor the the other like a nurse. Both were mutants, of course. The doctor had the ability to psychically scan a person and learn any abnormalities Meaning he could scan can a mutant and determine their mutations, but he could also scan anyone and figure out what was wrong with them. The nurse had no mutations that made her fit to be a nurse, in face her mutation was to turn herself into sand and still be able to move about, as well as being able to reshape herself. The doctor does a scan of Christine by looking her over from head to toe, first one way and then the other.
"You've been poisoned, looks like scorpion venom in your system. The drug Romeo gave you is causing it to rapidly leave your system, and it should be all out of you within the hour. You'll probably feel a bit ill for the rest of the day though." The doctor says with a nod before turning to face Fran, doing the same to her. "She has too many mutations to mention, not all of them seem accidental..." he pauses for a moment, as if trying to decide whether or not to say anything more. "It seems being in the cold weakens her. She should be alright if you leave her in here until you get back."
"Thank you doctor. Christine, if you like they will help you upstairs." Romeo says, though his tone says that it is more of an order than a request. He didn't want to be rude, but he needed a moment to talk with this new mutant before they left the Compound.

Hadrian was standing on the balcony looking out over the desert, taking a few moments away from his work to try and enjoy the day. He was spending this time with his second in command over the X Gene project, Fredrick. He was wearing his typical attire, a lab coat over a dark grey dress shirt and black slacks. His left hand was resting on the railing, the heat it had absorbed from the light of the sun over the course of the day not bothering him. In his right hand he held a glass of brandy, swirling it about in the glass before he straightens a bit and takes a sip.
"Yes, my friend, I believe it is time." Hadrian says with a grin.
Once out of his room he headed back to the kitchen, sorting through the pantry until he grabbed the bag of trail mix he saved for supply days and a bottle of ginger ale and a coke, then left with the snacks in tow, heading for the garage. It was one of the three places you could typically find Franky during the day, having found a hobby in tinkering with cars. He would do maintenance around the place when he wasn't working out or training, or work on his baby. His jeep was a remnant from the past, an old school military style jeep when communists were the things Americans hunted rather than mutants. Franky found it while screwing around in the desert with Romeo not long after joining the Compound, and dragged the metal carcass back into the garage. A year and a lot of scavenging later, and the jeep was running. It took a lot of help from Romeo and Hunter to get all the parts, but it was hard to tell the thing was once half buried in a sand dune. To say it was restored, however, would be nonfactual. The body of the jeep was still there, kind of, modified here and there to accommodate the new features. A v8 engine, tires rigged in from a dune buggy to better drive on the sands, and speakers loud enough to be heard two miles away. The body was bright yellow with a white star on both doors, and an electric blue lightning bolt on the hood. It wasn't the work of Van Gogh, but it was presentable.
"Alright Clementine, ready to hit the dunes again? I bet Veronica got in that part you've had your eye on. You know the one... a shiny new, slightly used fuel injector! That's right baby, I saw you dribbling the last few times we hit the sand, and no girl of mine has to put up with a dribble glass. No... you're a class act, aren't ya?" Franky said, smiling as he gently rubbed the hood, then let out a sigh. "I'm kinda glad supply day ended up being today. I'd planned on taking you out for a spin this morning Clementine, then the animal fire lady would have got ya. Christie getting hurt was bad enough" He said, feeling bad for a moment before hopping over the jeep's door and plopped down in the driver's seat.
"Ah well, we get to go for a spin now and with a cool chick to boot. Just don't hold it against her if she makes a mess, she's had a rough day you know".
Kurai lay on her bed looking up at the ceiling. She had rented an apartment while she was doing a story here. She didn't go to fancy hotels she found them weird. Having your breakfast in the same room as other people. Rai sighed. Se had never forgotten that woman walk through a wall. She was still working on another story but she had taken free time to investigate this one a bit too. She had gotten nowhere she wanted to go into the dessert but she didn't even know where that woman went. It was hopeless. She had just given up. There was no traces of anything.
Her phone rang. It was Mason. Her personal photographer he was two years older than her and quite nice. He obviously liked her but he didn't have the guts to ask her. The thing was she didn't feel the same way about him. She sighed again and answered her phone.
"Hmm?" she asked.
"It's Mason... Are you ok?" he asked concern creeping into his voice. She had obviously sounded a little downhearted. She normally would answer the phone cheerfully.
"Yeah," she replied," just a bit tired that's all."
"Oh, ok, I was just worried i haven't seen you in a few days and y'know..."he trailed off. Or also the fact that she had been alone for the las few days may have worried him.
"Yeah I'm fine just... Sorry I'm a bit busy at the minuet could you call back later?" she lied, she just didn't want to talk to him now.
"Well, see ya' later!" He said cheerfully and hung up.
Rai sat back down. She was hungry. Walking over to the fridge she stretched a bit. She walked over to the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboards and fridge. All she found was a packet of jammy dodgers, crisps and who knows how many chocolate bars. Rai slipped on her coat, glad for an excuse to leave the apartment. She pushed open the door and walked out, locking the door after her. The dark, dimly lit corridor stretched quite a long way. It was only lit by a energy saving light bulb and a small window at the end of the corridor. She left the block of apartments and headed to a nearby supermarket. It was quite a long walk but Rai didn't mind. She hummed a tune as she walked.

After she heard what Romeo said she placed her hand on his shoulder for a second thanking him then walked off one hand shoved into her pocket and the other waving lazily at him as she walked. "Aye Captain! I know when I'm not wanted." With that Christine began to make her way to the garage just to check if Franky was still there and to her surprise he was! She walked up to him as he sat in the car smiling. " Doc gave me the all clear. The poison will leave out my body in about an hour or so they said."
As she spoke she looked at Franky's jeep and ran her hand across it slowly. "MY she's a beauty~ Does she run like one too?" Christine hoped into the passenger seat awing at the inside of the car. " You my sir have good choice in cars~ I myself like big cars like these." Levi stuck her head out her tongue flickering as she too looked like she was checking out the car.
She hadn't meant to defend herself by killing the poor creature.
But why the hell did she feel so sorry for it?
Because it was just a lonely lion? She wasn't so sure.
Jamison stared down at the now dead mountain lion. It was curled up in a fetal position, blood seeping into his fur. Jamie wiped the blade of her dagger against the backside of her knee, slipping the blade back into her shoe. What was she supposed to do with it? Just leave the lion there? There wasn't really a way to bury it.
The girl sighed and stared down at the creature, it slowly moving across the ground. Her mind made it move into the shadows, hiding it from view. She sighed softly and moved the lion inbetween two large rocks. She felt sorry for the creature, because, in a way, it was just like her. Defending herself against the world. Jamie sighed and ran a hand through her hair before she continued on with her walk.
"Aww, Clementine knew you were talking about her" Franky finally said, proud of his baby girl. "Hope she didn't startle your serpentine friend there, though if Fran didn't spook him off he must have nerves of steel" Franky said, winking at Levi before digging into his pocket, handing Christine a map. "Alrighty miss navigator, I've rode into town by myself a time or two but it never hurts to have one of these handy. Town's to the west, so we just gotta head the opposite of the sun since it's before noon. I got some water bottles and ginger ale in the back if you need 'em, and some snacks right here" He said, holding up the trail mix bag before plopping it down into the cup holder.
"Fresh outta mice though, sorry Levi. Hear they got plenty in town though" He said, chuckling as he eased Clementine out of park and into drive, and gently made his way out of the garage. The doors opened automatically due to a device on the dash, sensing the movement of the recognized vehicle and would close once Clementine was a few yards away. As it did so and Clementine rested on the desert sands, Franky couldn't hold back a chuckle as some sparks danced on his forearms for a brief moment.
"Say Christie, you know what the speed limit is out here?" He asked, a rhetorical question as he revved the engines much harder than in the garage, double checking to make sure she was buckled up before continuing. Safety first. "Ain't one". At the utterance of those two words, he stopped holding Clementine in check and the jeep/dune buggy rocketed off into the arid wasteland, Franky heading straight for a sand dune. He was picking up speed, hitting a little over fifty miles per hour when they began to climb, and launched off the crest. Franky was laughing the whole time, this being his usual driving behavior when he took Clementine out. They landed with a fairly hard thud, but the suspension was pretty good in the hybrid, keeping it from shaking the passengers around like it should have.
"Clementine and I both love to show off. I'll keep off the dunes from here on, but you can't get in a beast like this and not let her flex, you know?" Franky said, still laughing. He loved driving Clementine in the desert.
Fran would growl at the doctor that walked to her next but seemingly got spooked as he took out his hand and started to scan her, she'd be visibly shaking at he continued to scan her and her icy blue snake eyes seem to shake with terror and they would water. As the doctor finished she'd move her feet to push herself back from him, her bones would crack, slowing her down extremely, if this place was any colder she'd probably get sick then die.
But before she could say anything she'd look at Christine frowning all the while smiling in a odd affectionate way. ''You look like him too...'' She'd say quietly as Christine left then she'd look at Romeo and the warm smile would leave her face. ''What do you plan to do with me? Mm?'' She'd then purposefully split her legs while looking at him. ''I promise I would kill you afterwards.'' She'd then laugh only to close her legs, her bones creaking as she did and she winced in pain and her face would go serious but soft. ''You can't keep me in the cold too long...'' She'd mumble while looking down to the ground at her restrains.
Wrath would stand, using his right hand to run through his hair as he walked to stand next to Hadrian with a smirk on his face. ''Et oui, le chat devient la souris ... comment le temps change les règles.'' (And so, the cat becomes the mouse...how time changes the rules.) He would rest his arms on the balcony railing, his left clawed hand exposed, slouching his weight onto the railing as he and Hadrian look to the distance. ''What will we do once we have her? Other than contain her that is...No...'' He would look to Hadrian. ''Will she forgive...us?'' He'd ask softly before turning back to the distance with a sigh. ''I wonder....what she looks like now...'' He'd mumble before his skin started to burn, gritting his teeth then turning behind to see a nurse with a smile.
Wrath would straighten up and would start to be taken inside but he would stop, turning his head back to Hadrian. ''Funny how her strength is my weakness and vice versa hmm?'' He'd then be lead inside only a bloody hand print from his right hand left on the railing. As he gets inside the nurse sits him down and starts to change his bandages while the medical staff who were monitoring him walk to him with a smile. ''This is the longest time out in the sun you have been without getting burnt, you are getting stronger.''
Wrath would smile up to the doctor then return his eyes to the nurse that was redressing his body, the areas of which were affected from his time under the table caused his skin on those areas to be heavily scarred and those points were where his weakness to the sun came from though if you hit these areas it would still be tender but not weak. ''If I am getting stronger that only means Fran is too...''
"I never planed on leaving you in the cold." Romeo says as he walks over to the wall and turns the thermostat up. "All of the rooms are adjustable to whoever will be staying in them. We can't raise the temperature too high, but this should be enough to keep you feeling well without letting you burn the place down around you." Soon a vent would activate and warm desert air would be pumped into the room through a series of vents and pipes and such. As the warmer air enters the room it carries with it the scent of the desert. Sage brush, mesquite trees, the smell of the sand itself. "I really don't like keeping you in here, but I hope you can understand this. We have nowhere else to go. Not everyone here is as strong as I am, there are women and children, and those who have been made weaker because of their mutation. I'll do whatever I have to in order to protect them. So until I return you'll be kept here, but when I get back I'll let you out and we can talk more, alright?"
With that said, and the room now warmer than before, Romeo turns to head out of the room, only to bump into Hunter just outside the door.
"I thought you were out taking care of things above ground." Romeo asks his second in command.
"Already taken care of. Driver has been taken to the infirmary, he'll live but never walk again. His truck was scrapped so we'll be taking it apart and bringing it down into the base for spare parts." Hunter says, all the while looking past Romeo at Fran. "So, she's the one who caused all the ruckus. You're getting soft Romeo, a few months ago you would have killed her and have done with it."
"People change, Hunter. Not always for the better, but sometimes." Romeo says, looking away. "If you'll excuse me, I need to be going now. I still have a supply run to manage." With that the mutant leader walks off, leaving Hunter alone with with Fran.

After finishing his drink Hadrian looks at the empty glass, holding it up in the palm of his hand. His hand begins to heat up and the glass melts, forming a puddle in his hand, which he slowly turns to the side and allows to drip. The liquid glass forms small droplets, like tears, as it falls and cools, disappearing into the sand below them. He was getting restless, and although it took energy to do such small things, he felt if he didn't do something he would go mad.
"We'll be heading out to Belhart city. I have a source who says there is a group of people who live out in the desert and come into town for supplies every month or so. Hopefully we can catch them on their supply run and question them to see if they may have spotted Fran." Hadrian says, cooling his hand off before turning around and walking inside. "We own one of the buildings on the outskirts of town, we can use it as a temporary base of operations while we gather information."
Something in the back of his mind was calling Hadrian out into the sands of the Nevada desert, and while he could survive out there on his own just fine, Fredrick could not. Logic, then, would say to stay near the desert, but not out in it. Belhart would be a good start, and if they found anything interesting they could always move. Among the fleet of various military vehicles at their disposal were a few MCV units, Mutant Recover Vehicles. They were large black vans fitted with various technologies on the inside that could track mutants if they got their hands on a DNA sample that was fresh enough and that also had a special device inside that rendered mutations useless.
Fran would sigh out in relief as Romeo put the temperature up a bit more, making her muscles and bones loosen up for more fluent movement but slowed her still and her abilities or at less her offensive ones weakened. She would stand, her hands locked in restrains and she watched Romeo leave, the hardened frown on her face softened and she would go to say something but stopped, turning away as he left her.
She would then sit on the bed for a moment in thought then slump herself to the pillow, letting her legs dangle on the edge of the bed, her hands near her face, hiding her eyes that glowed golden as she used her feral link to heighten her senses and she'd listen to Romeo's and Hunter's conversation making her gasp as she listened heard about Driver, surprised he was still alive but also a hint of sadness and guilt got to her as they talked about him not being able to walk again. She would sigh as she would sit up again continuing to listen.
She'd then smell the air around her getting distracted and she'd look up at the vents walking so she was below it. ''M-mother..'' Then all of a sudden a new smell came into the room and she turned to see Hunter, she had yet to met, her snake eyes would return to icy blue and she would tilt her head to the left a little. ''Not so human yourself then?'' She'd then huff air from her nose and walk tot he center of the average sized room, the obvious signs of not being afraid if not challenging Hunter's presence at the same time. ''Who are you? And before you ask, no. I will not tell you who exactly I am.''
"Don't!" She shouted, begging herself to calm down her headache. At first, it was minor, small pebbles bouncing up and down along the ground around her body. Then it was large rocks, whirling around her, swiveling and spiraling about her body. The ground felt like it was shaking, but only at first was it a small distance around her location, but it soon got worse. A great distance from her body, not a lot to reach the city, but enough to reach their home. It wasn't necessarily the ground, but the rocks and anything that can be moved by hand, shook and fell to the ground. "Please, stop!"
Jamie wasn't sure who she was begging to stop, or what she was pleading to. Maybe it was her self conscience. She felt sick, having not been taking care of her mutations like she should be. In a way...her body was still growing. Her nails dug into the palms of her hands against her head as she hunched over and let out a shrill, desperate cry.
At that moment, the rocks, pebbles, just fell. She laid there in a fetal position, pulling her knees to her chest. Tears streamed from her eyes, down her cheeks and she couldn't stop them.
She seemed almost lifeless. Almost so alone, that the world no longer existed. Why was it her genes that acted up? She could control someone's mind, she could move things easily, but it was rare when things got out of hand... like today.
There had to be some sort of drug, some sort of medication that could help her. She just had to find it, which is why she wanted to hurry up and get to the city.
But now, she was laying on the desert ground, hugging herself.
She'll get up, when the pain subsides.
This time she was heading for a more specific spot, a rock formation that the Compound mutants always passed during their supply runs. She'd already met Romeo, whom she very affectionately called Ro-Ro, and liked checking in with him every so often to see how his little Mutant College was fairing, and to let him in on any rumors she might hear of strange happenstances. Today... she was just feeling social. She was toting around a basket filled with about six sandwiches, cut in halves, so that the supply party Ro-Ro would have with him could get a free lunch today. She didn't know the Compound mutants very well outside of Ro-Ro and Hunny, but she was hoping to change that.
That is, until she heard the screaming a little deeper into the desert.
Minori took off in a hard run towards the source of the sound, still clutching the basket of food as she climbed a dune to try to see who was in trouble, and hesitated when she got a good look around. It was partially a result of shock at seeing every rock in her field of view floating off the ground, and partly that, much like the rocks, she too was floating off of the ground. It gave Minori time to look around, to see the young woman screaming on the sand, clutching her head. "Telepath... poor thing" she said softly to herself, waiting for the powers to ebb. She kind of liked the sensation of levitating, but knowing that another power spike could crush her body didn't leave her much room to enjoy it. The floating stopped when the crying stopped, and it didn't take long for Minori to get down to the poor thing once her feet hit the ground, sliding into a kneel and stopped just short of Jamison.
"There there you poor dear. It's okay, you're not alone" She said, looking Jamison over before rubbing her hands together, setting her picnic basket aside for now, and eased her palms onto Jamison's temples, gently trying to cool her off, to show both that she was here to help, and that she too was a mutant. "My name is Minori, and its going to be okay. I'm a friend" She said, placing the back of her hand on Jamie's forehead to try to cool her off a bit, but was trying not to overstep her bounds till Jamison responded to her.
"Stay with me now. What's your name?"
"J-Friend?" She asked. She wasn't easily trusting, but the girl's skin felt wonderful. "Jamie." She whispered, her eyes slowly opening. She didn't look the girl in the eyes, not yet.
There are times where Jamie was unable to control the mind control. It frightened her, especially when she was able to do severe damage. This girl was helping her and she refused to risk the girl going through the pain. But now the question was, what was the girl doing out here in the desert?
"Who..why are you here?" She murmured softly.
Climbing inside he slides the key into the ignition and it growls into life. A normal one would roar, but Romeo had gotten Franky to work on the engine. It was just as powerful as before, but quieter. After checking to make sure he had plenty of gas and none of the warning lights were on he pulls out of the garage, the door opening and closing on its own thanks to the trigger device Franky had put in it.
Soon the heat of the mid-day desert was all around him. He had spent longer leaving than he had meant to, which meant that the others would reach Belhart a good hour or so before him. This wasn't a military style community, so no one would be forced to wait on him to arrive before they could get down to business though. He would have everyone regroup before they left though, make sure they had gotten all the supplies and extras they needed to last for another month.
Romeo was just wondering how Christine was doing when the ground before him just sort of exploded. He didn't know what was going on, and before he could figure it out the humvee flipped sideways and rolled three or four times before coming to a stop upside down between two large sand dunes. Out of instinct he had created metal spikes that created a sort of roll cage around him, so aside from being dizzy he was relatively fine. At least he was until the spikes began to bend, and then snap away. The humvee then began to shake violently before crumpling in on itself, as if a giant had reached up out of the sand and shook it before crushing it. Despite his healing factor the crushing injuries had him incapacitated, and he wouldn't be able to move or do anything until he got loose.
This is what the two mutants responsible for the ambush were counting on. The sand around the crumpled metal begins to shake once more, then it and the two mutants descend into the ground, into one of the hidden, rarely used tunnels.

"Honestly, I don't care who you are." Hunter says, stepping into the room so that the door would close behind him. Reaching out with his left hand, the one covered in red bandages. Small specks of purple light, like will'o'wisps begin appearing around his arm, gathering, until a short sword seemingly blinks into existence. His fingers wrap around the blade and the purple specks die out, leaving now trace of themselves behind. "My name is Nathan Hunter and I'm the one who really runs his Compound. Romeo just thinks he is in charge."
Raising the sword and pointing it at Fran, Hunter takes a few steps closer, closing the distance between them, the tip of the sword now just a foot or so away from her neck.
"I've got some big plans in the works and you nearly ruined them with that little stunt you pulled this morning. I should just cut your head off then make it so cold in here that you'll freeze, but I'm not in the mood for death just yet today." There is another flash of light and the sword is gone without a trace. "You're free to go as far as I'm concerned, just stay out of my way."
Turning around once more Hunter walks back to the door and, on his way out, hits a switch that deactivates the devices binding Fran's wrists together. When he walks out, the door doesn't shut behind him.
βͺβ«β©β¬ββͺ
Fran would only smile as Hunter put his sword to her throat then frown as he mentioned freezing she'd however grin once more. ''What? You jealous I can do something do destructive where you can't?'' She'd tease then as he made his sword disappear, turning away she was shocked, if not disappointed and she slowly stood and as she was ready to speak the restrains on her fell to the ground with a metallic clanging on the concrete floor. She'd turn her wrists, clicking them then allowing her stings to stretch out also, spots of her blood collected below her and she watched the blood fall before retracting her stingers back into the slits on her wrists.
She'd see the door did not close and so she did exit the room with confidence spilling over her, she had little to be afraid of, she had seen a lot in her life time but as she saw Hunter just casually strolling down and away from her she suddenly got excited, her icy blue snake eyes glowed golden as she extended her claws and she'd run up behind the man, leaping into the air and wrapping her long slender legs around his waist while hugging him with her arms, her claws scratched into his shirt, breaking it apart and she'd dig her claws into his chest.
The glow of her eyes reflecting on windows and his neck as she put her blackish blue lips to his ear. ''Are you sure you are not the one becoming soft?'' She'd ask seductively as she nibbled his ear lobe then his jaw line playfully.
"Head still hurting? I've got some sandwiches if you want one. PB&J with some cold milk. And don't give me any nonsense about not being hungry. I've seen telepaths go through spells like this before and it looks exhausting. So I'm going to answer for you" Minori said, opening her picnic basket and dug out a sandwich, which was contained in a Ziploc bag. She sat the sandwich down on Jamie's lap, then dug out a large thermos before smiling. She liked this part. Focusing a bit, she relaxed the hand not holding the thermos, as though she were holding something within it, and in a matter of moments ice grew in her grip. It didn't take long for it to take the shape of a glass, rough and choppy looking at first, but as soon as the basic shape was finalized Minori smoothed the glass out, the shaved off ice forming chunks on the glass's rim before plopping down into the glass.
"The hardest part is making the ice cubs fall inward. Took me a week to get that down pat. Now here" Minori said, smiling as she poured the milk into her new glass and passed it off to Jamie. The glass was small, barely bigger than Minori's hand, but the glass wouldn't last long in the desert anyway. No need for big portions. Minori did the same again for herself, making then pouring a glass of milk and grabbing a sandwich, and plopped down from her kneeling position to sit beside her new friend.
"Name's Minori. I said so while you were still having an episode so I'm not sure if you heard, not that I'd blame you. You did pick a wonderful spot though, any closer to town and someone besides a loon might have heard the screaming. You okay?".

" Oh my such a gentleman." Christine teased as she leaned back grabbing the ginger ale smiling happily and opening taking it a sip. " Oh that's going to do wonders for my stomach thanks Franky." She would lean in and peck his cheek before taking another sip then placing the can in the second cup holder. She stretched out before speaking. " Yeah I got to stop by a pet store while we're in town to get her some mice."
As they began to move she noticed the sparks on Franky and grinned knowing he was going to do something as she braced herself buckling up herself quickly. As they sped up She stuck her hand out the window feeling the air run through her hair and fingers. when the jeep caught air all that escaped Christine's mouth was a " wooooo!!" When they landed christine turned to Franky quickly smiling. " Heh you should hit another one when we come back. She's amazing." She ran her hand across the dashboard still smiling.
Jamie wasn't a fortune-telling psychic but at times, like anyone, there was always that feeling in the pit of her stomach. Jamie took the glass carefully and shook her head gently. "I can't eat right now...thank you though. Can you help me stand up?" She added.
Her eyes settled on the ground in front of her, before the fell closed. God, it was too hot. She knew it was because it was the desert, but her body temperature was just a bit too hot for her to handle completely. "Did I hurt anyone?"
[[Sorry for so short, it will be longer in the future. Should the two go back to the compound?]]
"I parked not too far off from here. I don't have anywhere to be for a while so if I can I'll help you get where you need to go, but only if you give yourself a minute to rest. hiking through the desert is hard enough on a person but you just had the psychic equivalent of a heart attack. The less you move the better for a while" Minori said, nodding a few times before scooping Jamie up in her arms. She may not look it, but she was fairly strong. Strong enough to carry Jamie to the car anyway. As Minori hoisted her up, she began to lower the temperature around her, cooling herself and Jamie off as she walked.
"Before you protest, I can only cool you off in the open desert like this if I'm touching you, and you've been lying out here for who knows how long. Now you're one of Romeo's little ones aren't you? Is he in trouble?" Minori asked, power walking now while holding Jamie bridal style, hiding the strain of the act quite well. It wouldn't take but a few minutes to get to the Camry that Minori drove, standing Jamie up in front of the passenger side door before getting in herself, cranking up the AC for herself as much as for Jamie. Her weakness was high temperatures, and using her powers out there had drained her a little. She would turn the ignition and go as soon as Jamie gave her some directions, having never been to the compound herself.

Franky was wondering how the hell he and Christine didn't hang out more. For a fire child she was pretty cool, and the peck on the cheek had him electrified. He resisted the urge to hit more dunes just to make sure Christine's stomach didn't disagree with it, but they'd definitely hit the bumpy road back home. He had an obstacle course of sorts set up around the compound, a series of dunes he thought were perfectly spaced apart for fast jumps.
"So the hot mama is a party animal too? Baby, you can't be hiding these things from a rock star like myself! Instead of a solo act we could have been partying it up as a dynamic duo! You bringing the heat and Franky bringing the thunder we'd have the compound jumping all day every day!" Franky said, excited to have found a kindred spirit. He may not be jumping anymore dunes, but once they hit a flat stretch of sand he hit the accelerator hard and gunned it through the wasteland, kicking up enough sand to start a sandstorm.
"For real though, We gotta hang out more if you've fallen in love with Clementine like I have. Hey, wanna give her a spin on the way back? Just gotta promise you won't get too attached... she's already seeing someone" Franky said, chuckling to himself, but then his eyes grew wide as he quickly cut to the right, nearly ramming into what appeared to be a Camry driving through the desert. He coulda swore he recognized it as well.
"Well shit... you okay babe? Given the vastness of this sandbox I didn't think to pay attention to oncoming traffic" Franky said with a slightly nervous laugh, cutting the engine for now.

When Christine looked forward again her eyes also grew wide when they almost crashed into the car in front of them. She Held on as Franky Whipped to the right then looked over to him when they stopped. " Im fine, but who the hell is that? Almost crashing into us and-" Before Christine could finish her stomach flipped and flopped around. "Shit!" was all she said before opening the car door and vomiting onto the hot sand.
