{The Story}
In high school, we all know that there are many friendships, relationships and people that very well may hate each other, as well but one thing is for certain, almost everyone graduates at some time or another. The Class of 1997 at Westview High School is the true testament of many statements about high school and it has been years since friendships have been formed, relationships have been broken and enemies have settled their respective scores. But the class has their ten year reunion coming up and it is already providing to be an interesting affair.
It has been ten years since the Class of 1997 have graduated from the halls of Westview High School, home of the Jaguars and now, their ten year reunion is coming up and is to be held within the school's newly built auditorium. Of course, reunions are suppose to be somewhat memorable as you get to see old friends, old flames and even an old ex boyfriend or girlfriend but most importantly, to really see what everyone else has been up to since high school. While most have stayed in touch throughout the years, others have drifted apart especially two high school sweethearts, who were destined to be together forever but went their separate ways after graduation instead. One has been living a rather hum drum life since graduation, having a nine to five job while the other has been traveling the world for years now. But what is going to happen when they're both attending their high school reunion after years? Things are bound to happen at Westview once again.

She sat her phone down on the desk beside the window then glared at the clock present in the room. If she was really going to this reunion, she had to go ahead and get ready now. With a soft sigh escaping over her parted lips, Chantal went over towards her closet and revealed a blue dress with gold outlining the trims a little bit. She even had blue and gold heels to match the dress and if anyone knows her fashion, everything had to absolutely match - Even her clutch purse matched the outfit. After an hour or so, she was finally ready and cannot wait to see her classmates but most importantly, she Noah. Just the thought of her seeing him made her not want to go because of how she adored him in high school but just didn't love him anymore once she crossed that stage and got her diploma. 'Not now.' She thought to herself as she grabbed her phone and exited her hotel room then went out front for the valet to bring her car around. Westview High Ten Year Reunion, here comes Chantal Brooks.

After ten minutes of steaming his suit, he decided to go ahead and get ready but not too early as he didn't want to be there before some of his friends. Jayson did manage to shower and trim his beard a little bit then got dressed as he stared at himself in the mirror with a slight huff. "Can't believe I am actually going to this." Jayson muttered to himself as he walked out of his room, after grabbing his phone, keys and wallet then walked down the stairs. He was right at the door and opened up a drawer beside the front door and dabbed himself with Polo Black Cologne then continued on out the door, getting inside of his vehicle but waited before starting it up and leaving his home.

I could live, or I could die,
Hanging on the words you said.
Oh, I've been known to give my all,
And jumping in harder than
Ten thousand rocks on a late."

Noah quirks a smile, somehow feeling validated by his friend’s compliment. ”It’s not too much?” he asks, nervously tugging at his jacket sleeve. As tempted as he is to mess with the guy, Jaxon opts to be honest instead, knowing that the slightest negative comment, even as a joke, will have Noah running right back to his closet to stress over what is appropriate to wear. ”Not at all. If you weren’t so annoyingly straight, I’d do you in a heartbeat.” Noah responds with a roll of the eyes, but the subtle smile pulling at his lips is enough to tell Jaxon his comment has made him feel slightly more confident. It also felt nice on his part. Even if Noah is the only one to know the truth about Jaxon’s sexual preferences, it’s a wild relief to not have the need to hide from his own roommate. He watches as the blonde stops in front of the hallway mirror, tossing his hair every which way until he’s satisfied with how it falls.
Jaxon returns his attention to his work, only to be stopped seconds later by Noah’s obscure question. ”Shouldn’t you bed getting dressed? We’re an hour and a half drive away.” Noah watches the dark eyes behind the laptop regard him with confusion, as if he had been speaking some ancient language Jaxon has never heard about. ”You are coming with me, aren’t you?” If the readjusting himself on the couch hadn’t made the answer clear to Noah, the response definitely did. ”When did I say I would?” Noah turns on his heels, arms folding across his chest defensively. His deep blues pierce into Jaxon’s in an effort to convince him.
”You’re seriously going to send me out there on my own?” He notices Jaxon’s stifled laugh as his eyes shift between himself and the laptop screen. ”You’re a big boy, I’m sure you can handle it.” Noah pauses,
"I don't give you my heart as easily as you'd like,
but still melt you with my lies
like a hot cocoa in the winter.
Had to tell you that I lied to you,
but you know I'm a pretender.
So let me tell you what's on my mind.
I'm sorry I can't be that guy
Don't expect too much from me."

Jaxon’s words triggering something inside him. Can he really handle it on his own? It’s been years upon years since he’s seen anyone from high school. save Jaxon and the occasional communication with his old friend Jayson. Most faces he’s forgotten, but there’s a few or rather one in particular that he’s not prepared to see. The last time he saw it was when she declared that she was moving on and leaving him in the dust. As much as he would like to say he’s over it, he would be lying through his teeth if he did.
Noah lets a soft sigh escape his lips as he takes a seat on the edge of the coffee table facing Jaxon, eyebrows knitted together in worry. ”Come on Jax…what if I run into her? I’m going to need back up.” Jaxon lets his back rest against the leather couch, arms folding across his chest and one dark brow cocked in Noah’s direction. There's no need for Noah to elaborate on who the “her” is. Jaxon knows well enough. "I think it's time you stop living in the past and realize that she's not worth it." Noah frowns, but nods his head in the other's direction as if to say that's his point exactly. No one will ever tell things to him straight the way Jaxon does. ”And you seriously want me to give up my only off day to go with you to an ancient building full of people I never even liked just because of the chance you might see your ex?” Noah nods pointedly before Jaxon can even finish, earning an exasperated sigh from the latter.
”You didn’t like me either, remember?” the former jock argues, index finger pointed knowingly. Jaxon leans forward, elbows resting on his fabric covered knees. ”Right, and I still don’t. So go by yourself.” Noah’s lips morph into a pout. That pout Jaxon has come to realize he’s got a soft spot for. Luckily, Noah has yet to figure it out. ”Come on, it’ll be fun! Besides, don’t you wanna show off to our old classmates that you’re successful and ten times sexier than you were back then?” the wink added at the end is unnecessary, Jaxon notes, but it manages to do the trick. He shuts the laptop with a loud click and a heavy sigh before locking eyes with a very excited Noah. "If you get too drunk to drive back I'm leaving your ass there." Noah accepts the threat and gets to his feet with a loud clap of his hands, giving Jaxon enough room to get off the couch and run into his room to change.

It was about ten minutes later that Jayson had pulled up beside her now, honking his horn at her with a slight smile forming among his lips as he turned off the engine of his vehicle and got out. Jayson approached Chantal's window as she rolled it down and smiled up towards him. "Hey there, Jayson. You haven't changed a bit, I see." She teased towards her classmate while rolling the window back up and shutting off her engine now, opening the door so that she could get out of her car now. Jayson's eyes wandered around her as let out a soft gasp. "What?" Chantal asked as Jayson shook his head towards her now. "You look incredible, darling." Jayson muttered towards Chantal while giving her a small hug that caused her to blush slightly while she lowered her head.
"Thanks, love. So do you though. Not what I pictured you'd dress like for this occasion. I was expecting you to wear your football jersey and jeans not a suit and tie." More teasing from the once sweetheart of Westview High as she was really using Jayson as target practice right about now. Jayson waved his hand towards Chantal though, stifling a laugh as he replied. "No problem. And I am sure one of those idiots will be wearing their jersey's. Wanna bet on that?" Jayson responded towards Chantal as she shook her head towards him now. "Oh, please. I don't want to bet on that but if I see someone wearing their jersey, I just might scream." She said and ended with a chuckle that formed into a smile upon her lips now.
"You crazy, girl. So, are you hoping to see Noah?" Jayson asked, hitting the nail in the metaphorical coffin that Chantal was really trying to avoid. It took her a minute or two to answer because while she was really hoping to see him, Chantal had to act like she really didn't care for him that much anymore. "I know that I'll see him but not sure if I am hoping to see him." Chantal responded towards Jayson, whose eyes widened at her reply. "Oh, snap." Jayson remarked as he turned his attention towards the school, turning his gaze back towards Chantal. "So, should we go ahead and get this over with?" Jayson questioned towards her as she looked at the school then back up towards Jayson. "Maybe we can wait a little while longer." She mutter softly as she looked down at her ring then raised it up so that Jayson can see while speaking. "Oh, I'm engaged, by the way. His name is Nathan." Jayson examined the ring then eyed Chantal, who dropped her hand back down in front of her now. "Wow. How nice is that. Do you have a picture of him?"
Chantal nodded at his question as she opened up her door and grabbed her cell phone, scrolling through the countless of pics until she found one of Nathan and showed it to Jayson. "Is he bisexual? Are you guys polygamous? Because he is totally cute." Jayson acknowledged as Chantal let out a laugh at his questions but thanked him for his words. "I guess it is about time we made our way towards Westview High, huh?" Even though she asked that question, she was still a little bit hesitant as she always wondered to herself how the interaction between herself and Noah was going to go after such a long time apart from each other. "I'm ready if you are." Jayson muttered towards Chantal while hitting a button that locked his truck and she did the same, locking her car. "Let's go then." She said as they both started their trek towards the school now. Luckily, the walk wasn't exactly that far away from where they were at the stadium. "Anyone you're really wanting to see again?" She asked him as he bit his bottom lip in thought then shrugged his shoulders.
"I am ready to see my teammates and hoping at least one of them is gay now so I can tease them just like they teased me." Jayson responded as Chantal could not but laugh at his words then felt her stomach churn and heart drop as they neared towards Westview High's auditorium now. "I hope there will be liquor there because I might need to take a shot or multiple." Chantal said as Jayson linked his arm with hers. "It'd be fine, darling. If anyone messes with you, let me know and I'll rough them up for you." Jayson offered that towards Chantal, who laughed then replied. "Well, aren't you my knight in shining armor."

"I promised myself I would never come back to this rat hole for as long as I lived." Jaxon adds as the large building that once used to be his playground comes into view. He circles around to find the parking lot with a sigh. "The shit I do for you." Noah quirks a satisfied grin. He knows well enough that Jaxon isn't the type to be itching for a high school reunion, but there's no words that can describe how grateful he is that his best friend chose to acompany him even if it's the last thing he wanted to do today.
"I'll make it up to you. GIve you anything you want"
"Anything?."
The cheeky smirk and lifted brow Jaxon gives him brings a soft shade of pink to Noah's pale cheeks. "Well..." Jaxon's chuckle fills the car as he pulls up to the building's main doors. There's a few people making their way inside, most of which the boys recognize. During the good old days at Westview, Noah and Jaxon were both very well-known within the walls of the concrete jungle. Granted, it was for entirely different reasons. "Go on ahead, I'll find parking." Jaxon instructs. Noah's bright blues narrow in Jaxon's direction, his hand holding up a warning finger. "Jaxon Abner, don't you dare drive off and leave me here." Jaxon's loud laughter comes again, this time followed by a salute, marveled by the fact that Noah knows him way too well. "Stop being so damn paranoid and get your ass inside."
Noah, after a deep and drawn out sigh, does just that. The moment the car door shuts behind him, Jaxon takes off, leaving him a nervous wreck in front of the large double doors. He takes in several slow breathes, contemplating all the ways running into Chantel could go, before his steps lead him inside. It's not very early, so it seems that the place is already packed. Filled with mostly familiar faces, plus a couple he doesn't quite recognize. It doesn't take long for someone to approach him. As expected, it's a couple of his old teammates. They haven't changed one bit, Noah notes. Of course, he hasn't exactly changed much himself. Perhaps a couple of inches taller and bit of facial scruff is the only notable difference. In that sense, Noah has always envied Jaxon who has changed for the better in many ways, both inside and out. Meanwhile, Noah is still the same softy he's always been, and his former teammates don't fail to notice.
It's not until the brief conversation with the guys comes to an end that Noah realizes Chantal is just a few feet away. Not close enough to make conversation, and certainly not paying any attention to him, but close enough to bring a heavy lump to his throat and a twist in his gut. Noah's mind runs through all the possible ways he could make an escape without being spotted, but as fate would have it, Jaxon walks up beside him, ruining any and all chances of making a run for it. "Don't even think about it, you're not going anywhere." The former's sweetheart's mouth hangs a few centimeters open, baffled by how easily Jaxon is able to read his intentions. He sighs in defeat, earning a triumphant grin from the younger. The space around them begins to fill more and more as the seconds pass, and Noah's doesn't fail to notice the numerous pairs of eyes on them. A couple of people even come up to say their hellos. He may be a handsome man, and the tallest of the two, but Jaxon's looks and charm make him feel as if he's all but invisible.
"Maybe bringing you along was a mistake." Noah jokes once their company leaves, earning an eye roll from Jaxon. "Why don't you get out there and mingle. Pape needs a drink...or ten." Noah responds with a chuckle, but isn't given the time to object or say anything else about the matter before the blonde has disappeared into the bundle of alumni, once again leaving him to fend for himself.

"Look at me. You are Chantal Brooks that ran this school ten years ago. Dig deep down inside and find that person again so you can still remind people that you're the Queen Bee." Encouraging words from Jayson there as it made Chantal manage a smile, not too big and not too small but it was indeed a smile. She allowed for those words to sink in before she eyed the double doors again before herself and Jayson, inhaled and exhaled then wrapped her arm with Jayson's arm again. "Let's rock this joint." She said now as she practically dragged Jayson towards the auditorium doors now.
Once the duo walked inside, the theme of the reunion was their old high school prom theme from way back when. The auditorium was literally streaming with streamers that bore the colors of blue and gold, a mascot was roaming around the gym trying to get everyone hyped up and it seemed like mostly all of their classmates were there from 1997 - That was definitely a shock.
She maneuvered her arm from around Jayson's as he looked at her then whispered towards her over the music. "How are you feeling, darling?" Jayson asked her as she smiled over towards him then pointed over towards the table where the drinks were present. "Get me a drink and let me think about that for a moment." Chantal replied as Jayson gave her a thumbs up then she started to roam around the gym, eyes fluttering from one decoration to another. It was definitely a beautiful sight to witness and the feels from high school were coming back to her now.
It was during her moment of turning around that she bumped into someone and eyed him for a moment, gasping at the sight of the male that stood before her now. It was Noah, or was it Noah? She surely wasn't going to stick around and found out either. For probably the first time in her life, she was speechless and luckily for her, Jayson came by her side and handed her the drink she had previously requested, which she chugged down then stepped away from both of the gentleman that stood before her. "Noah, my man. Well, not my man but you know what I mean." Jayson chuckled then continued to eye him while also continuing to speak. "How have you been, dude?" Jayson asked while waving his hand in the direction that Chantal had just walked away towards. "Don't mind her, man. She's just nervous about all of this." After Jayson spoke those words, he took a drink from his beverage then stood beside Noah now, waiting for him to say something.

"Noah, my man. Well, not my man but you know what I mean." The familiar voice rang in Noah's ear as easily as his own voice. Ripping his gaze away from Chantel's shadow, Noah's eyes zeroed in on Jayson, that usual smile placed on his face. "Don't mind her, man. She's just nervous about all of this." Somehow, that comment made Noah's nerves ease a bit. Knowing that he wasn't the only one balled into a nervous wreck. "That makes two of us." he said, giving Jayson a quick half-hug before stepping back into his usual stance. He let a soft smile spread on his face as one hand patted Jayson's shoulder "How've you been man, I haven't seen you in months. Still single?" he asked, the last half meant mainly as a joke. Granted, if he really was single it would make Noah feels a little less like a loser for being so aggressively single for so long himself. Being around Jaxon, who seemed to date a different girl (and the occasional hook-up with a guy) every week didn't make things any easier.
And speak of the devil and he shall appear. Out of the corner of his eyes, Noah spotted Jaxon's striking platinum locks coming closer to them. For a second he breathed in relief. At least now if Chantel came back around, he would have not only one, but two wingmen to make a weight a little lighter. Only seconds later did it occur to him that his old teammate and his new best friend running into one another could end up very badly, especially given their history. "Nothing but bubbly, but it'll have to do." Jaxon's voice came as a glass of champagne was held in front of his face. Noah took the drink while his eyes darted back and forth between the two. His only hope was either that whatever dislike the two had for one another in the past had stayed in the past, much like case with himself and Jaxon, or that the two looked different enough to not recognize one another. "Good, you have to drive me back and I already don't trust you behind the wheel as it is." the tall blonde joked, hoping that his cheerful mood would keep the situation from going downhill.
Jaxon's mystery-filled eyes regarded Jayson with nothing but indifference. He took in the man's features, silently noting his good looks, but also wanting to recognize him. There was a certain something about him that Jaxon found very familiar, much too familiar for him to have been just one of Noah's old teammates that he'd seen occasionally but disliked all the same. But whatever that was, it just wasn't clicking into Jaxon's head. Maybe as they spoke the memories would come flooding, but for the time being, Jaxon opted to treat the guy just like he treated any other handsome stranger. He fixed a subtle smirk, slightly raising his glass in the taller man's direction. "How do you do?" He could easily feel Noah's body stiffen beside him, which was more than enough to tell Jaxon that his inkling was correct. This guy, whoever the hell he may be, had been more than "just another meathead" in during Jaxon's life at Westview. Still, he wasn't going to be the one to ask. If it had been forgotten than it clearly was not important enough.
"Well since you've clearly found yourself a new wingman, am I allowed to go home?" Noah's features contorted into something Jaxon couldn't quite depict, like two conflicting emotions were throwing punches inside his head. "If you leave then how am I supposed to get back home?"
"Take the bus."
"No way in hell."
"Well then have this handsome stranger take you." a quick and fluid gestures is made in Jayson's direction, making Noah swallow a heavy chuckle at the thought that Jaxon was most likely having an inner battle with himself to not flirt with Jayson in an effort to keep his secret. "Seriously, Jax, it's not that bad-" only halfway through his sentence does Noah realize he's done what he's been trying to avoid doing from the moment Jaxon walked up; he's said a name, and he calculates it will only take Jaysona few seconds to put two and two together.

As she got closer towards the trio of men, her eyes widened as she finally recognized who the other male was. 'Jaxon.' She thought his name with utter disgust and even made a face as she neared them now. "Sorry about that." It was meant for both Jayson and Noah but of course, she only stared at Jayson whenever she spoke those words. Her eyes fluttered over towards Jaxon now as she raised a brow up towards him. "I am surprised you showed your face here after what you did." Chantal spat out of her mouth, standing a little bit before Jayson now as she continued to eye Jaxon, still ignoring the fact that Noah was standing there, too. "Don't you have a one night stand to go and do?" She asked Jaxon as she could really feel Jayson's blood boiling behind her and it seemed like he was going to explode at any given moment. Chantal surely wasn't going to stop Jayson if he wanted to beat Jaxon right here and now, to be honest because what he did to them both is definitely unforgivable.

"I do good, thanks for asking." Jayson responded while holding his drink back up towards him then eyed him as there was something about this male that Jayson just couldn't put his finger upon. "New wingman? Please, this cutie right here don't need no wingman." Jayson said while putting his arm around Noah. "I could take you home, Noah but I might want to stay the night, too." Jayson teased towards Noah then noticed as Chantal came back over towards them but he heard Jaxon's name finally being said. Jayson listened to Chantal's words and looked in Jaxon's direction again. It was him. The guy that slept with his girlfriend, Chantal's best friend and he dared to show his face at Westview High again. His blood was boiling as he threw his drink away then grabbed Jaxon by his shirt, bringing the light male closer to him now. "Oh, I have waited for the day to see you again, boy." It was then that Jayson spoke those words and leaned back with one side of his body then lunged that side back forward and threw a punch towards Jaxon's face, aimed for the nose. It felt good. Real good and a little too good so Jayson wanted to deliver more punches to Jaxon's face and he just might, if no one stops him.

Jaxon's dark brows furrowed together at the sight of Chantel, her face and words leaving a bitter taste in his mouth that he had long since forgotten. What he had done? The phrase repeated itself in his head, pulling out a bitter chuckle from the platinum haired male. She really had the nerve to say something like that in front of Noah? He opened his mouth to speak, but the abruptness of his shirt being clutched onto stopped him mid-thought. The drink in his hand fell to the ground with the echoing sound of shattering glass while Jaxon's eyes locked on Jayson's. "Oh, I have waited for the day to see you again, boy." Finally, as if puzzle pieces being put together, Jaxon matched the familiar face to the voice and his face contorted into something between annoyance and disgust before a cynical smirk took over. "Well you've got me now, sweetheart. What's the game plan?"
Jayson may have been the golden boy of Westview once upon a time, but his reflexes left a lot to be desired. IN the time it took him to plan his punch, Jaxon managed to maneuver himself away enough for the clenched first to hit his jawline instead of his nose where it had been aimed. He had more than half a mind to throw a few punches of his own, had Noah not stepped in between them, catching Jaxon's fist mid-air. "Alright, that's enough!" the blonde's voice came deeper and more demanding than Jaxon had ever heard it be. He took a step back, his right hand rubbing against his jaw bone where it had been hit as his eyes fixated on the too tall male in front of him. "Punching someone over something that happened over ten years ago? How petty can you get?" Jaxon could feel Noah shift uncomfortably next to him, but at this point what Noah thought mattered zero. He'd been attacked first, and he'd be damned if he left with his head down and tail between his legs. Jaxon may have had changed since high school, but his pride was still very much present. "And you, princess." he spat sarcastically, his fire-filled glare turning in Chantel's direction. "You really have some nerve to bring up what I did back then when what you did to Noah wasn't any better."
"Jax, don't, it's okay-"
"No, no it's not okay. Or have you forgotten all the shit I watched you go through because of her?" his glare now turned on Noah, who seemed to shrink under his gaze despite being a couple of inches taller. Of course he hadn't forgotten, not a single second of it. When Chantel left, she took Noah's entire world with her. He had been head over heels from the second they started dating, willing to do anything and everything for her, but she clearly hadn't felt the same when she turned her back and left him standing the airport gate entrance. He'd been devastated, heartbroken, with no motivation to do anything in life, and as unlikely as it seemed now, Jaxon had been the one to pull him out of that. Not only that, but the only reason Jaxon had come tonight was because of him. Noah wanted to say this, not only to Jaxon, but to Chantel. He wanted to let her know how badly she had destroyed him both inside and out, but the words were stuck in his throat and all he could do was stare in her direction.
He heard Jaxon sigh loudly beside him, barely giving him enough time to pull his gaze away from chantel to watch Jaxon's blonde head walking towards the auditorium doors. "Jaxon! Where are you going?" but the blonde didn't bother answering, because as much as he cared for Noah now, if he attempted to speak there's no doubt he would end up cursing him out along with the others.

All eyes were seemingly on them now as a few friends of Chantal and Jayson came over to check on the duo but it was in that moment that the microphone up on the stage feedback. "Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Westview High Class of 1997!" The announcer said as people cheered but Chantal was still beside Jayson, just to make sure that he was okay and all right. "Now, I know that some people could not be here tonight but let's see if these two special people are." The announcer said as he opened up an envelope and smiled. "Can I get Chantal Brooks and Noah Heize to the stage, please? Better known as Westview's Sweethearts of 1997." The announcer's voice boomed as there was scattered applause right about now and she was honestly shook. "Stay here. This won't take long, hopefully." Chantal muttered towards Jayson as she practically walked past Noah, not saying a word towards and walked upon the five little stairs in front of the stage.
When she turned around, she could hear people start to mutter about them. In this moment, she did not want to smile or be happy right now but her eyes flashed towards Noah to catch his reaction before looking back out at the crowd. It was then whenever their class president, Simone Simmons came out with crowns, sashes and flowers then handed the items to Chantal first then off to Noah. Chantal sighed as Simone Simmons got on the microphone now and eyed Chantal and Noah. "So, how about a dance just for old times sake? Like homecoming?" That was just like Simone to stir the pot a little bit as she looked towards Noah and shook her head, walking off the stage and immediately walking over towards Jayson. "Let's blow this joint. I knew it was a mistake to come back." Chantal muttered towards Jayson as they both headed for the double doors but she glanced back towards Noah one more time before finally taking her exit.

Jayson nodded his head and stood up, trailing behind the female now and walking out of the double doors now. It was there that Jayson saw Jaxon and felt a little bit bad about his actions as he looked towards Chantal. "Hang on a minute." Jayson muttered as he walked towards Jaxon with his hands raised up and a slow paced walk, signaling to Jaxon that he came towards him in peace. "Look, Jaxon, I'm sorry, okay? You were right as it was petty of me to punch after something that happened ten years ago. But those memories, since Madison did break up with me shortly after you slept with her. You ruined my relationship, dude and my future with her. She was going to be my wife." Jayson said in a honest tone and sighed shortly after speaking those words.
From that moment, Jayson walked a little bit closer towards Jaxon now and grabbed a pen from his jacket pocket then wrote his number on Jaxon's hand but threw the pen away for the moment. "Text me and we can meet up to chat or something. We don't have to friends or anything but we can at least try to get along, am I right?" Jayson said as before he moved, he was actually going to wait to hear Jaxon's response to everything that he had just said. Jayson glanced back towards Chantal for a moment as she stood not too far from the double doors with her arms folded over her chest and that usual glance plastered upon her face. "See, I can be a good guy."

"Hi everyone! Welcome back to Westview High Class of 1997!" the familiar voice came through the microphone and booming sound system. Cheers and claps erupted around him, but Noah continued to walk towards his destination; the exit. It wasn't until he heard his name, coupled with Chantal's, that his feet came to a solid stop. Suddenly, every set of eyes were either on him or on Chantel, who looked just as uncomfortable as Noah felt. His heart began to pound heavily, barely sparing Chantal a glance as she walked past him. Was she actually going up there? He sure as hell wasn't. At least that's what he thought to himself in the first few seconds, but immediately found his feet moving in the direction of the stage as if they had a mind of their own. Noah let out a low grunt as the crowns and sashes were handed back to them, the ornaments now a solid reminder of what could have been but was completely obliterated by the girl standing just a few feet away from him.
Everyone could clearly tell there was something off about their school's so called "sweethearts". Everyone except good ol' Simone, that is. Or rather, she could tell just as easily as anyone else and chose to blatantly ignore it, because that sounded a lot more like her. "So, how about a dance just for old times sake? Like homecoming?" A toxic mixture of emotions stirred within Noah, making his head jerk in Simone's direction at the same time that Chantel walked off the stage. The crowd was hushed enough that those standing closest to the stage could clearly hear him. "How about not." Just as Chantal had done, Noah walked himself off the stage, leaving the sash and crown behind, before heading out the exit doors. He walked past Chantal, using every bit of strength he had to not even look her way, and headed straight to where Jaxon stood, seemingly having a conversation with Jayson.

There was the sound of metal doors opening shortly after. Jaxon's stance didn't falter an inch, but his eyes fell in the direction of the noise. Like the rotten cherry on top of the sour milk cake, Chantal came storming out, soon followed by Jayson. Try as he may, Jaxon couldn't contain the eye roll. His dark orbs moved away from the duo and onto the exit doors, planning his leave if either of the two decided to walk in his direction. One more insult; that's all the blonde needed to hear for the wine cork to pop off. "Look, Jaxon, I'm sorry okay?" the words came unexpected, but not entirely unwelcome. As Jayson draws closer, Jaxon's leaning stance finally shifts to a standing one, his eyes not losing their characteristic glare for an instant. "You were right as it was petty of me to punch after something that happened ten years ago. But those memories, since Madison did break up with me shortly after you slept with her. You ruined my relationship, dude and my future with her. She was going to be my wife." the last half of the phrase made Jaxon huff in amusement. Ten years later and Westview's golden boy was still in the dark.
Before Jax could respond, one of his hands was taken. Jayson seemed to be jotting something down, which Jax eventually noted was a phone number. The thought of him texting the man that had ruined his face, and quite possible his presentation the next day because he sure as hell wasn't going to show up to the meeting with a bruised jaw, was just comical."Sure...whatever you say." His words didn't come as sarcastically as he'd wanted them to, but at this point he was too tired and annoyed to fix them. He glanced at the number one his hand once again before lifting his gaze up to Jayson's. "Just so we're clear, I wasn't the one that ruined your relationship. It was already ruined long before that." his arms folded defensively across his chest, his eyes not leaving Jayson's face. "I wasn't the first guy Madison had cheated on you with, and if I hadn't had the balls to say something about it, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been the last. If you don't believe me, ask half of your old teammates. Or better yet, just ask miss queen bee over there." as his sentence came to an end, his gaze switched to Chantal, daring her to lie about what he'd just said. And right on cue, Noah came though the large doors, signaling him that it was time to leave the ancient building behind once and for all.

"Please tell me that it isn't true, Chantal." Jayson muttered towards the former queen bee of Westview as she started to sniffle and her eyes were getting watery. "Jayson, I'm sorry but it is and I was going to tell you but you and Madison were so happy and I did not want to mess that up." Chantal said as Jayson shook his head then started to walk away from the scene. He was at a lost for words right now as it seems that his only girl best friend has betrayed him and he couldn't take it right now. "Jayson, wait, please!" Chantal called out as Jayson continued his walk towards the parking lot by the stadium and to his truck, leaving a now crying Chantal behind.
She straightened herself back up and sniffled again then turned over towards Jaxon with tear stained cheeks. "Are you happy with yourself? You make other people miserable to make yourself feel better. I should know because I use to be that person." Chantal muttered towards Jaxon before looking towards Noah with a slight smirk. "But you know what, two can play this game." She spoke towards Jaxon through gritted teeth then turned over towards Noah. "Jaxon, why don't you tell Noah about that crush you had on him back in high school, hm? Why do you think he actually moved in with you, Noah? Oh, I'm sorry, did you not know that? I bet he even still has one on you, Noah." Chantal basically shouted as her gaze went back towards Jaxon now. "Checkmate, asshole." And with that, she walked up and stood beside Noah. "I'll leave you two to talk. I'll be on the first flight out of this place tomorrow and I never want to see you or him again." Once Noah would respond, she'd walk away and go towards her vehicle, which was parked in the stadium's parking lot, as well.
Jayson had made it to his truck as he was angry, confused, heartbroken and sadden. All of those emotions reminded him of the night Madison broke up with him and he was in his truck, punching the steering wheel multiple times before cranking the engine up. He sighed, trying to hold back tears as he backed up out of the parking lot and drove away. Jayson was definitely going to have a little talk with Chantal but tonight, he just needed to calm down before he would've said some things that he didn't mean towards her.

The blonde watched through narrowed eyes as Jayson confronted her about what he’d just said and then stormed out. For a fraction of a second, Jaxon felt a little guilty for making the guy so upset, but he shouldn’t have been kept in the dark for so long. Of course, it was so much easier to place all of the blame on Westview’s notorious bad boy, the player, the guy that had nothing to lose, than to face reality. Well Jaxon was tired of the bullshit. It wasn’t his mess to carry, so why should he? His piercing glare turned on Chantal the moment her comments were directed at him, making something in his stomach turn uncomfortable. He let out a muffled snort of disbelief. Of course she would still make him out to be the bad guy in all of this. He expected nothing less. ”Don’t you think it’s high time you stop playing the victim, princess? It’s getting old, and nobody here believes it anymore.”
Jaxon's gaze then turned to Noah, who at this point was speechless, his bright blues shifting back and forth between Chantal and Jaxon. He hadn’t heard the entire conversation between his former and current best friend, but he’d heard enough. Enough to prove to him that several people weren’t as they appeared to be. Chantal included. His arms lowered in disbelief as his eyes shifted to one angry looking Chantal. "Jaxon, why don't you tell Noah about that crush you had on him back in high school, hm? Why do you think he actually moved in with you, Noah? Oh, I'm sorry, did you not know that? I bet he even still has one on you, now." There was a short space of time when Noah had to pause, and take in one thing at a time. First, the look on Chantal's face as she spoke actually almost scared him. Like the girl he fell in love with had never even existed, but rather it had been all in his head. HIs mouth hung wide open, his eyes slowly shifting to Jaxon who visibly shrunk under his gaze. Too many thoughts and emotions spun inside his head like a messy whirlpool.
"That's-..." Jaxon's usually bronzed features were now as pale as Noah himself, as if he'd just witnessed the life being sucked out of him. Noah was speechless yet again, but Jaxon didn't exactly wait around for his response. His eyes regarded Chantal with the most unadulterated hatred Noah had ever seen. Intense enough to send a chill down his spine, and just like that, he was gone. Stormed out the large metal doors into the already dark parking lot. Noah's gaze rested on the doors for a moment before they fell back on Chantal, his baffled expression now morphed into something much more bitter. "Was that necessary?" his eyes searched hers with hope...hope that there was still even a inkling of the Chantal he knew left behind them. Or, at the very least, the Chantal he thought he knew. "Jaxon's secret about who he liked and your secret about Madison cheating are two completely different things...do you not understand that?" his lips pressed into a thin line. Facing Chantal after so many years was just as difficult as he imagined it to be, but not for the reasons he thought. "All you did with that was prove his point...you're not the Chantal I fell in love with. And I'm starting to think you never were."
The knots inside his throat and stomach grew larger as he took a couple of steps away from her, and turned on his heels to head out the door. Jaxon's shadow could be seen in the distance as he settled into the driver's seat. Noah still didn't know what to say, but the uncomfortable silence inside the vehicle the moment he stepped inside was too suffocating. His eyes shifted to Jaxon's which were fixed on the road ahead of him, frustration and anger very clear on his face even in the dim lighting. And there was that guilt again. It had been his idea to come, and yet Jaxon had paid all of the consequences. "Jax...I-"
"Don't. Just...don't." As much as Noah wanted to object, he didn't Neither one of them said a single word the entire hour and a half drive back home.

Jayson was already perched at a table outside of the cafe underneath an umbrella as he did not know what to think right about now. His emotions were running rampant and he couldn't really be angry at Chantal for not wanting him and Madison to break up because his relationship with her was so freaking cute that they could've been high school sweethearts, if she never would have broken up with him. Jayson was wrong to confront Jaxon and even punch him in the face about something that happened ten years ago and that was beyond his control but at least he apologized for that and they are on much better terms now. At least, he hoped that they were. His mind was dead set on making things right with Chantal right now but he did not know what he was going to say whenever she was going to be face to face with him. When his phone chimed, he saw the text from Chantal that she was on her way but did not bother to reply, just to mess with her mind a little bit. Jayson smirked softly and wondered to himself what Jaxon and Noah was doing right now and how they felt about the way things went down last night.
It only took Chantal about fifteen minutes to reach Regal's, where she sat down in the parking lot for a moment and waited as her eyes saw Jayson sitting outside at a table. She did not know what to think right about now but she did get out of her vehicle, locking it with a simple click of a button then went inside to walk through the cafe before she reached the outside and stood above Jayson now before she sat at the table in the chair across from him. "Hey." Chantal spoke in a soft tone as Jayson threw up a wave then raised a brow towards her, which made her even more nervous that he wasn't saying anything towards her right. "Look, about last night..." She started to say but a waitress came out there to greet them and asked them if they needed anything. "Glass of water, please and some french fries with a side of spicy ketchup." Jayson replied to the waitress, who then turned her gaze towards Chantal. "I'm fine. Thanks though." The waitress nodded her head with a smile then walked away as Jayson watched then turned back to face Chantal, who was about to speak again but was interrupted by Jayson.
"Last night happened and it's in the past but I am more concerned about what Jaxon said and you admitting to." Jayson said as Chantal had mustered out a sigh over her parted lips. "I really wanted to tell you, Jayson but Madison was my best friend and there was a girl code to abide by." Chantal muttered as Jayson waved his hand towards her. "I don't want to hear that bullshit, Chantal. I really don't. I want to know how can you know something for so freaking long, see me emotionally detach myself from everyone whenever she broke up with me and still not say anything." Jayson responded towards Chantal, who was just about done with this conversation already as she stood up while muttering. "I don't have time for this." She mentioned towards him as he stood up, too. "You're no longer that high school Chantal that just walk away and have your little minions get you out of this one, Chantal. So, you're going to sit down and we're going to discuss this matter like the adults we are." Jayson scorned towards her as she sighed then sat back down and he eventually followed suit.
The waitress came back out with Jayson's order as he thanked her while she told him to enjoy his fries. He reached for a fry and dipped in his spicy ketchup then tossed it in his mouth. "I'm not mad at you, Chantal but you shouldn't walk away from every situation in your life. I'm not even mad at Madison for what she did because she felt guilty and broke up with me because of it. I just wished that you, my friend, would have told me something instead of having me walk away the whole entire school looking stupid and dumbfounded." Jayson muttered after swallowing the first fry that had entered his mouth then eyed Chantal, who had her eyes fixated on the concrete floor beneath them. She really did not have anything to say at this point other than she was sorry for not telling him about Madison and the other guys ten years ago but she knew that he would not accept that and that he needed something a bit more than an apology.
"Jayson, I am truly sorry but there were nights that I wanted to tell you but at the time, Madison had a pregnancy scare so I kept quiet to avoid you from getting hurt. That was when Madison broke up with you, something that I did not think that she would do so..." She shrugged her shoulders after speaking those words then leaned back in her chair a little bit. "Sorry, I sincerely am." Jayson ate a few more fries while Chantal spoke then her say that she was sorry twice. His emotions were running rampant again as he smiled towards Chantal, who bit her bottom lip nervously now then nodded his head. "I'll accept your apology but only if you promise me that there are no more secrets between us." Jayson said as Chantal held her hands up now. "I promise that there are no more secrets between us." Chantal responded towards Jayson as he gave her a thumbs up now. Chantal reached for a fry but Jayson slapped her hand away and she scoffed at his action. "You better go in and order your own." Jayson said with a laugh as Chantal stood up but before she could walk away, Jayson stopped her with a question.
"Are you going to the Goodbye Bonfire tonight?" Jayson asked as Chantal shrugged her shoulders then sent a wink towards Jayson as she replied. "I'll let you know, stud." And with that, Chantal walked away but not really ordering those fries but loving the feel of relieved air surrounding her as she went back towards her car now.

With another grunt, Noah rolled onto his side, and eventually got to his feet. He didn’t bother to do anything other than pull on a shirt and brush his teeth. There were much more important matters he needed to tend to right now, like making amends with his best friend.
Jaxon dragged his feet from left to right, his tired body begging him to go back to bed if only for the sake of his headache and aching jaw. But he didn’t have a choice but to barrel through this. It was the most important presentation of the year. If he canceled on his boss so last minute, there’s no doubt he would be kicked out in a heartbeat no matter how good he was. At the very least, his face wasn’t swollen. He may have felt like a train wreck but he looked just as presentable as ever. He rubbed the back of his neck, his body leaning back against the counter as he waited for his coffee to finish brewing. Try as he may, he couldn’t help but let his eyes wonder over to his phone to check for new messages. Somewhere between the haze of the early morning and lack of sleep induced headache, he had thought it to be a good idea to message Jayson.
The contents of the message were now unclear, but it went somewhere along the lines of ”Sorry for dropping that bomb on you last night, but I feel like shit today and my entire face hurts so I guess we’re even”. That had been over an hour ago, but still no reply. It was getting to the state of being really annoying. He lifted his phone again to check through some emails, but the click of a door opening and closing paralyzed him on the spot. His eyes stared at the black screen in front of them, the knot in his stomach growing bigger with every footstep sound, until sure enough, Noah’s face appeared.
”Good morning…”
”Morning.”
A couple of glances were exchanged until Jaxon moved to grab his coffee and was stopped by Noah’s arm. Their eyes met for a fraction of a second and Jaxon had never felt so…small. ”Jax look…I’m really sorry about last night-”
”I don’t have a crush on you, Noah” it may have been a lie, but it sounded convincing enough for the blonde. He lifted his hands in defeat and took a step back. ”Fair enough.” Jaxon immediately tore his eyes away from his friend in fear that the look in them might give him away. ”I was just going to apologize. I’m the one that forced you to go, and I put you in those uncomfortable situations…and I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin your night…and your morning...and your presentation.” By now Noah had maneuvered his way around to face Jaxon again, who nearly scorched his tongue with a sip of coffee. The look of pain flashed across his face, earning a soft chuckle from Noah which faded just as quickly. Eventually Jaxon responded with a chuckle of his own, slowly easing the tension that had been hanging between them since the night before. Jaxon let a sigh of relief escape him as if ten tons had been lifted from his shoulders.
"Never make me go to something like that ever again, you punk." Noah's slight smile widened, knowing that in Jaxon's language, that meant his apology had been accepted. ”Now my face and my tongue both hurt like hell.” he muttered, referring to the bitter aftertaste of the coffee burn on his tongue. Noah let out a soft snort of amusement. ”Your face still looks like it was sculpted by the Greek gods though, if that’s any consolation." he said pointedly as he casually leaned against the refrigerator door, earning an eyeroll from Jaxon who was secretly thankful that his skin was bronzed enough to hide the subtle pink that rose to his cheeks. After a couple more words, the coffee was cooled and chugged and Jaxon was out the door.
The traffic to the presentation meeting place was the worst he'd seen in a long time, only adding to his already annoyed state. Luckily, no one at the meeting noticed. Nor did they notice that it physically pained him to smile. The task was over soon enough, the big bad boss was beyond happy, and Jaxon found it suitable to reward himself with a nice warm lunch from a nearby cafe. He had more than earned it and no one could tell him otherwise.

Yeah, man. We're even. Maybe I'll see you tonight at the bonfire?
Once he sent the message, another message came through from Chantal to let him know that Jaxon had just entered Regal's Cafe. His eyes squinted as he saw Jaxon sitting there alone and decided to grab his french fries, spicy ketchup and water to go over and join him. Jayson just thought that Jaxon might've wanted someone to talk to and why not someone who is his best friend, or use to be anyway. He walked back inside of the cafe now and approached the table where Jaxon was sitting and flashed a charming smile towards him. "Hey, stud. Mind if I join you?" Jayson asked as he looked down at an already seated Jaxon, still smiling widely but still loaded with a lot of charm. "Oh, before you check that message, how would you like an escort to the bonfire tonight? You're going, no matter what you say." Jayson mentioned towards the male that sat in front of him as he could not help but smile again.

For reasons not yet known to him, he felt...uneasy. Maybe, in part or in most, it had to do with what had happened the night before. Noah's mind continued to run through the events back at the forsaken building. Not so much what had happened with Jaxon because, despite the blonde having accepted his apology, Noah fully planned on making up for it. No, his mind was not occupied by that, but instead it replayed the moments he had Chantal in front of him, like a bad indie record. The thought of running into the same Chantal from high school had terrified him, but now the thought that the girl he once loved more than himself had changed so much terrified him even more.
After preparing himself a good sandwich, the former sweetheart made himself comfortable on the couch with the remote in hand. Maybe another day he would be productive, but not today. His eyes quickly flashed to the phone on the couch beside him, wondering what he would have done if he still had Chantal's phone number. In all honesty, even after all this time, Noah still felt as if she could bend and twist him like a ball of puddy, and that just wasn't acceptable. While juggling his meal in one hand, Noah exchanged the remote for his phone and sent a quick text in Jaxon's direction in hopes that the guy was finished with work and would be willing to keep him company.

After ordering his drink he took a seat, not even bothering to respond to the message. Jaxon guessed that, sooner or later, the guy would notice and try to come and make conversation. And sure enough, he did just that. "Hey, stud. Mind if I join you?" Jaxon's eyes peered through his long, dark lashes, his lips still connected to the drink's straw. He watched in silence as Jayson took a seat across from him without bothering to wait for Jaxon's response. "Oh, before you check that message, how would you like an escort to the bonfire tonight? You're going, no matter what you say." Jaxon strongly resisted the urge to laugh and finished the long sip of iced coffee he had been working before reaching across the table and taking one of Jayson's fries. "Pass" he said before popping the thinly fried piece of potato into his mouth. "I'd rather break my own leg...or yours." he added, finalizing his sentence with a slight smirk.
Out of the corner of his eyes he could see Noah's name flash across his phone screen, but he made no intention of answering or checking the message. The man could wait. Right now, Jaxon's focus was on getting rid of Jayson. Even if he was one of the better looking men he had seen in a while, it wasn't enough to convince him to waste another night with people that were now strangers, and possibly have to deal with Chantal's irritating ass. "I'm sure you've got prettier candidates to escort."

"I really do like the renovations that were made on this mall, to be honest." Emma stated as Chantal and the other girls nodded their heads while Chantal grabbed her sub sandwich but spoke first before she took a bite. "Yeah, it actually looks like a mall."Chantal's comment tickled the other girls pink as she finally took a bite out of her sandwich and chewed it into small pieces before swallowing them. "So, Chantal, are you going to the bonfire tonight? It's sort of our last hooray before out next tenth year anniversary." Heather asked Chantal, who shrugged her shoulders then let out a sigh.
After everything that went down last night, she did not need anymore drama within her life right now. She was really ready to be the first person on the plane and going back to her husband to be, Nathan and just be wrapped into his arms. It took her a moment to answer but whenever she did, the looks on the girls faces were shocked. "I might, I might not. Who knows?" Chantal remarked then basically waved her hands towards Rachel, Emma and Heather basically wanting them to drop it and move on to another subject.
Chantal did want to go to the bonfire because Jayson was obviously going to be there but so was Noah and probably Jaxon but she did not know if she, herself, wanted to go. With another sigh, she eyed the ladies surrounding her and groaned as she knew that she was going to regret this decision, one way or another. "Fine. I'll go, you whores." She remarked as the trio cheered then gathered their things. "We must go and get ready." Heather mentioned as they all agreed, stood up to throw away their trash and go over to Heather's house to get ready.
She didn't bother to fill Jayson in about going because she wanted it to be a slight surprise.

Jaxon was in fact cute and kind of, sort of Jayson's type but that was something he was going to keep silent about, for now anyway. "Think you can convince Noah to show his face tonight? I need one of you pretty boys there." Jayson remarked, hoping to definitely try to charm Jaxon into attending the bonfire with him tonight.

Location: His and Jaxon's apartment
And right now he needed Jaxon to remind him that going to the bonfire that would be held later that night was a bad idea. Granted, he had said the same thing about the reunion, but this time Noah was more than willing to listen. He needed Jaxon's common sense to talk him out of this idea that if he went to the bonfire, things between him and Chantal would be different. He needed his best friend here to talk some sense into him, because although in the back of his mind Noah new nothing would be different, there was still that sliver of hope left in his.
He glanced at the phone one more time, deciding to send another text, only this time to Jayson in hopes that the guy wasn't going either. Maybe he could reunite his old best friend and new best friend so they could give him some piece of mind.
To: Jay
MSG: U going to the bonfire 2nite? If not, maybe we can have a boys' night.
Hex: #4C0000
Location: Regal's Cafe
He too leaned forward in his chair, dark eyes challenging the man sitting across from him as they narrowed. his plump lips poised to speak. Just because he had already decided not to attend, didn't mean he couldn't play with Jayson for just a little while. "If I go because you want me to then what's in it for me?" he asked, the right side of his mouth lifting up into a half smirk. "If you can give me a good enough reason, maybe I'll consider it." he added, not that he actually planned on doing so. Jayson was handsome, yes. Probably the type of guy he would end up in bed with were it not the fact that 95% of people that knew Jaxon still believed him to be as straight as a ruler. And Jayson didn't need to know that he wasn't.
"And if it's a wingman you want-" he continued, stopping momentarily to thank and smile at the waitress for bringing his boneless wings and a side of fries. "Then you'd probably be better off taking Noah. He slipped a french fry into his mouth as he thought of all the times Noah had complained about his wingman, i.e. Jaxon, stealing all of the attention for himself.
