Neverland. A place that should have only existed in story books, old maid’s tales, and the hearts and dreams of children. A place in which magic reigns and time stands still. A place so mystical, most would give up their valued Earthly possessions just for a glimpse. And yet, this is precisely where our story begins.

On The Mainland, a section of the island covered in various terrains, there isn’t one dominant group that governs the stretch. In fact, there are three major 'clans’ occupying the different territories, seemingly in constant war with each other. The Children of the Sea residing near the coves and beaches, The Children of the Woods taking residency between the trees, up and away from anyone who dares trespass, and those who reside along the coast within a small port.

But, it wasn't always this way. Long ago, there was one single group that worked together in harmony, or at least it's what they believed. Of course, many have heard the long told tale of Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, Captain Hook and the crew of the Jolly Roger. Of how Peter Pan took Wendy and her siblings to Never Land, fought bravely against Captain Hook and the rest was history as the three siblings were eventually brought back to their home, to grow up and raise families. But, that is what's been told. The truth having long since forgotten, twisted, and all together made out to be a happy ending. While in reality well...The truth of the story is much darker, and sinister than what many believe.

The truth is, before the legacy of Peter Pan and Captain Hook became what it is now known to be, things weren't always as hostile as has become. There weren't three groups of people at war with each other. Constantly at each other's throats. There wasn't a longing for the fate that befell them all to end. There wasn't an endless wish for wanting to change things. Make things right. To simply fix what had been broken all that time ago.

The reality? Peter Pan and Captain Hook weren't always enemies. At one time, they had been partners, in every sense of the word. Working together, living together, and some may even say, they were in love. They were as thick as thieves, trying to make the world a better place, and then they weren't. What caused for the fallout between the two now rivals? What caused a whole group to become divided into three?

There once was an adventurer looking for the right partner. The perfect person to help bring their dreams into reality. And so, they searched, far and wide until they found the right one. An orphan. Someone who wouldn't be missed. And so the two went. Traveling the world, looking for others and so came the formation of a ragtag group of scoundrals and explorers. Overtime, they'd discover a mysterious Island. Where time didn't flow like it should have, where one wouldn't age and grow old. Where anything was within reach. Seeming limitless. And that is when the first signs of tension arose.

The orphan, slowly began to see their leader's true intentions. How they weren't as harmless or even transparent as they seemed. They wanted to find others, to create them into something that only they could use. And so it began. Seducing those who wouldn't be missed, homeless people, low lives, to even taking people from their home in the middle of the night. It seemed harmless enough, however inhumane it may have seemed at the time. But it couldn't be that bad, right? Their leader could never harm others. Right? How wrong the child was.

As time went on, and the leader's true intentions became clear, the orphan realized the horror that was being committed. These people weren't being taken to Never Land for a second chance at life. No, they were being taken to be turned into something else. Something inhuman. When the results turned out to be too much for the group to handle, they were tossed into the ocean, to never be seen again. And that was when the singing from the far out rocks began. Almost like a chorus of voices, calling out for any wayward soul to come closer, before it was too late.

The orphan was disgusted with this revelation, and after a confrentation, left the two coming to a standstill. They were promised one last group of people, and they'd be done. And so they did it. But once again, the orphan had been tricked. The last group they had taken from their home, was a girl and her two siblings. But unlike the others, the time that was spent coming back to Never Land, something changed. The orphan didn't want to give them over to their leader. Not to be turned into the creatures that filled the waters around The Isle. And so they didn't.

The leader was furious with this revelation, and a fateful encounter ensued. The leader had instead chosen to attempt to kill the girl and her siblings, and in an attempt at saving them, the orphan took the leader's left hand. Using that as a distraction, the orphan took the siblings and fled, but not before taking the leader's pocket watch and hand, tossing it into the murky waters below. Another mistake that would leave a large reptile with the hunger for human blood and flesh.

In an ill attempt at saving the siblings, the orphan asked the Faeiry folk on The Isle for help. But had been turned away, and instead, were cursed to spend the rest of their days never aging. Never being able to grow up another day. As for the siblings, they had been taken away from Never Land, their fate unknown to those who were forced to stay on The Isle. The Faeiry folk had cursed those who had brought nothing but bloodshed and violence to their once peaceful island. Causing a rift, that seperated the three groups. Forever diving them against each other.

But not only that, the Faeiries still had one more trick up their sleeve to spite the humans who brought such tragedy and evil into their world. They'd be forever cursed with immortality. Stuck in an endless loop of what tore them apart. The leader, had since that day took on the moniker of Captain Hook, after forging an iron hook, and dubbed their group and ship, The Jolly Roger. A group of scoundrals who would spend the rest of their days bringing others from their homes and back to Never Land, in an attempt at ending the one who betrayed them. In turn, the orphan took on the moniker of 'Pan', and has long since formed a ragtag group of their own, of those who they have helped free from the grasp and fate of those who were taken amongst the Jolly Roger. Which, they were known as Lost Boys, living among the trees.

Ever still, the remaining sick game of the Faeiries, had it be that every five years, Hook and their men would bring back a group of three siblings. And the cycle would repeat itself, but, with a twist. The fate would never be the same as the first. At times, Pan and the Lost Boys would succeed in freeing the siblings, who always seemed to be almost a reminder of the ones Pan lost all those years ago. Other times, Hook would win and have the three fed to the creatures in the murky depths below, or worse, be turned into the creatures that inhabited the waters. And endless cycle of their past mistakes.

That was one hundred years ago. And now, Never Land is dying. There is a looming darkness overtaking The Isle. Pan and their Lost Boys can feel it, as can the Faeiries, and the crew of the Jolly Roger. But their endless feud has caused far too much harm than good, with seemingly no way to fix the encroaching darkness. But, Pan and the Lost Boys believe there may be a way at fixing what has been broken, and ending the chain. And with the Jolly Roger coming back with another three siblings, Pan knows it's their time to act, if they want to save Never Land, and free them all of this endless curse..

Left to fend to herself in the forest, the fairies saw their opportunity and leapt. They took in the young child, raised her as one of their own. They gifted her with the ability to age, though still at an extraordinarily slow rate - as well as granting her the physical form that matched her inner self. Mature Content - Due to the premise of this story, this shouldn't be a shock. But I am going to preface this straight away. **TRIGGER WARNING NOW**. In this role play, your characters will be subjected to mature content and if you don't think you'll be comfortable with anything along the lines of what is hinted at in the above sections, I can only advise you to leave now. This RP in short, will contain Strong language, violence, and gore. Possible mentions of drug use, abuse, possible self harm and even suicide, as well as maybe even possibly hinted at assault and human experimentation/body horror subjects. Your characters will be in intense and adult situations so be prepared now. If you think you can handle these subject matters, then I am more than happy to welcome you aboard.

Character Interaction - Just because your character(s) do not like each other doesn't mean they can't interact with others. If anything that's more reason to put them together and see how they interact. This role play is very character relationship driven, but I will provide direction to advance the plot. I want everyone to be included, so if you have an idea for your character and another, do it! Just because your character is a loner type doesn't mean they have to constantly be by themselves. While there is a supernatural element to this role play, it is realistic fiction so keep that in mind when writing your character's responses.

Post Expectancy - Due to this being both a story driven and character driven role play, this won't be a fast paced RP in terms of posting and getting responses up. I get that life happens, people work, and have lives outside of online. As long as literally like, one person can get a single post up just once a month, I'm not too hard pressed. But, if you think you won't be able to respond for long bursts of time, just message me and I'm sure we'll be able to make a way to narratively progress until you're able to come back without removing your character from the over all narrative.

Ghosting - I think everyone can understand the annoyance that comes with this. While we do get life happens and you may need to step away, as mentioned above. But what is not tolerated, is either sending in a CS and never completing it because one dips without a word, someone reserves a spot and never submits a CS and someone else loses out on that spot due to waiting for that CS submission. Or, when it comes to posting and someone just disapears into thin air. If you feel like you cannot respond to a post, make a character, or even just spare the time for an RP, you can always bow out whether temporarily or permanently with a simple "Hey, I don't think I can carry on with this RP because 'insert reason here', and everyone will be understanding. But dissapearing without a word is not the way to do it, and you'll be immediately removed from the RP if I need to get into contact with you more than three times and never receive a response from you for long periods of time. Plenty of my RP's in the past have died because people have ghosted. Someone ghosts for more than a month without responding to my message? Well, you'll be removed and we'll carry on without said character(s).

The ever beaming sun that usually hung far above the Mainland of The Isle, had long since set, and the moon had since taken its place in the murky abyss above. Instead, was a slight sliver of silver, that appeared as more of a portal or opening to some other world that lied behind the blanket of stars that twinkled in the moonlit night sky. On nights like this, if one knew where to look, they'd be able to see constellations in every direction, that went on for miles. If one was even lucky, chances would have it that they might spot a shooting star. But, on this night, things were different. There was a stillness.

Even the air itself felt off. It was always this way, on nights like this. Next to no noise filled the air, besides the crashing of the waves below the cliff bluff that overlooked the ocean, and the occasional gust of wind that would whisp by one's ear. Everything else, was dead silent. The Mainland, was usually full of life. Creatures and insects of the night would be making their calls. Birds of night such as owls and some unknown species would be busy hunting prey. But tonight? Not a sound.

A lone figure was sitting off from everything else, sitting on one of the higher pillars of the cliff-face that faced the open waters. They were in a crouched position, both feet firmly planted flat against the cold stone, but were busily looking up towards the inky black night sky. The night skies here in Never Land, were unlike any other one could see. From here, if one looked up on a clear night, they'd be able to see the stars and planets among the vast expanse of the cosmos. The veil between this island and reality were an odd thing. Almost enchanting if some dared to think about it for too long.

"It's almost time...", a young boy's voice spoke up. Breaking the silence that had long filled the air around them. "They should be here soon.", another voice came not soon after. "Thank you, Liall. Tobin. I'll be there shortly." the figure said, finally looking at the two Lost Boys who had come to remind them. Looking back out at the starry filled sky, they let out a sigh. Liall slowly walked up beside their friend, placing a hand on their shoulder, "It's going to be okay, you know? Everything will work out this time, Pan." Liall tried saying with a reassuring tone. Tobin simply rolled his eyes in an annoyed manner, folding his arms over his chest. "Because Pan never fails, right?" Tobin prodded.

Liall looked back at Tobin, giving him a small glare. The other Lost Boy raised both hands up in mach defense, glancing back at their leader for a moment, "I'll go and alert the others, make sure they're ready for things." Tobin gave a small, reluctant half bow and turned back, making his way back to the village further down the cliffside and into the woods. The remaining two exchanged looks once more, "Ignore him. He's just trying to get the best of you, Pan...It'll be fine, truly." he gave a faint smile in Pan's direction. Pan let out a small sigh once more, combing her fingers through her hair, pacing a bit. "But he is right, Liall. We mess this up tonight...This could be our last chance and, we can't afford that. Not now." Liall slowly nodded in agreement, he knew, just as much as anyone else, that tonight was the night to get this done. There was no more waiting. They were already running out of time as it were. They all wanted it to be over, and the time to act was now.

"Go back with Tobin, get the others who are coming. You'll meet me out by the large rocks near the gull, act on my signal. We need to use their arrival as leverage and cover. They'll be expecting us regardless so, speed is key this time, I think." Pan said as she turned back to Liall, who gave her a small nod once more. "Yes ma'am." Liall said with a salute, and turned back to the Lost Boys encampment.

Then there was one left. Pan slowly looked back up towards the night sky, closing her eyes for a moment, and took a deep intake of breath. Any and all nerves that were felt in this moment, neeeded to be shaken off and forgotten. Now wasn't the time for cowardice. Pan reached for the metal pan flute that was hanging by one of their belt loops. It was strung on a leather bound strap, and pulled it up to their lips, blowing into the flute, they let out a single note. It was the last call for the Lost Boys to begin making their way to the rock pillars down by the shore, where the Jolly Roger would be coming in once they arrived. Which would be within barely a few minutes.

Pan headed towards the shoreline first, staying low among the large rocks below. With the mix of crashing waves, the darkness of night and lack of any form of light to give away their position, Pan had a perfect place to lie and wait for the arriving ship. With the reassurance of a few of the Lost Boys and Girls, those who were able-bodied enough to help anyway, had come along. At least for the terms of a distraction at the very most, pan wouldn't risk them fighting off the pirates, not again.

It wasn't much longer until the large shadow, of an encroaching form made its appearance. A large pirate ship coasted along the waters, before eventually coming to anchor down by the large rocks and port. Pan took a deep breath once more, hands shaking for just a moment before she managed to recollect herself. It'd be fine. They just needed to locate the kids, get them out, and Pan would play as the key distraction. This was all far routine by now. An endless game of cat and mouse that everyone involved in knew by now. Things never changed, it was always the same. Everything was, except for the outcomes. And this time, Pan wasn't going to let things end like they had last time. They'd succeed, but the only difference, Pan had a different plan in mind this time after they got the children out. And hopefully this time, they'd be able to make everything work. They just had to..

Most nights the moon dominated the sky. It could never appear so large in the mundane realm as if this place sat isolated somewhere in the expanse of space. It waxed and waned but it did so on its own schedule, never the same. Time was different in Neverland. The only thing that could be counted on was when it disappeared to a tiny sliver of light, the Jolly Roger would be going on a run for more children.

By choice once, now they were compelled to go by the magic of the vindictive fairies of the island. At first, they thought it was punishment for stealing children from their beds to use the island’s magic to change them into pawns for the Captain’s thirst for money and power, just to toss them away when it didn’t work. They quickly realized, if that had been true, why would they be sent to continue the deed? No, the fairies were not altruistic. They didn’t care about the children. Their punishment was because these foreigners had invaded their realm and bastardized the magic within it. Their punishment: being caught in an endless loop of their deeds. When the moon waned down to but a shine, the crew boarded their ship, compelled by magic, and departed for their home realm, nay to return until they’ve stolen a girl child and her two siblings. This night was no different.

Captain Xaria Hellier, called Hook by some, stood on the quarterdeck of the Jolly Roger as it sailed through the waters they once dominated. She turned a couple of orbs or water in her palm like Chinese stress balls, anticipating their arrival back to the island filled with enemies. In the distance was that shimmer she once thought was her salvation. Now it was her damnation. β€œMore wind, MacLeod! Me body be feelin’ the lack of magic and I don’t much like it! Our bones be turnin’ ta dust! Get us back!”

Ciaran stood at the helm, guiding the ship back to Neverland. The power the island had granted him was aerokenisis, allowing him to push the ship through waters at unnatural speeds. The rest of the crew moved about the deck, fulfilling their assigned roles ensuring lines were secure and the cannon were ready.

Hook yelled across the deck to a young girl, β€œCastiella! Get yer nimble arse up them ratlines and inta the nest!” She turned and yelled to the rest of those on board, β€œWe’ll be passin’ through the veil soon. Keep yer eyes open and yer wits about ya. Can’t let them forest rats get the drop on us."

As they passed through the portal, the sound of the wind and waves suddenly went silent. Everything was silent. No crickets, no birds, no creatures at all. Xaria watched the cliffs as they neared their makeshift port. β€œThe guns ready, Gates?”

The Mastergunner stood by the small, rail-mounted cannons, easy to point and shoot at the cliffs. β€œAye, Captain. Primed and ready.”

β€œDouse canvas! Bring us in easy.” The next part she muttered to herself, β€œThere be eyes everywhere..”

She turned and walked down the stairs to the main deck. She made her way to the hatch and yelled down into the hold. β€œMai! Gisele! Dun't bring up the girl or the others 'til we know the coast be clear.”

She gave one last shout over the deck, β€œAnd if any of you hear tickin'... Shoot it.”

It was dark within the hold of the Jolly Roger. The only light was a few dangling lanterns with their flickering light that swayed with the ship’s movements. The sound of creaking wood filled the air, mingling with the crashing of ocean waves across the bow. Flickering of the lantern light cast a dance of shadows and light across the teak walls. Soft trails of smoke drifted up from the smoldering end of a lit cigarette that hung between Gisele’s fore and middle fingers. One side of the hold had crates strapped down, filled with various bits of cargo and supplies that were on board. The other side had a series of iron cells on either side. Most of them were empty, save one. It was this one that Gisele was focused on, leaning a shoulder against one of the iron bars.

Within the cell she leaned against were three small figures huddled within, tied and blindfolded. The thrice-damned siblings that their crew was cursed to kidnap over and over. She drew in a deep drag from her cigarette, feeling the tobacco burning down her throat in that familiar way. Leaning forward, pressing her forehead against the metal, she blew out the smoke towards the children. Malice was in her eyes as she leered at them, not that they could see it, nor would she touch them. Yet. Not until the Captain gave the word. She’d long come to loathe these children. Not as much as she hated Pan or Aisling, not by a long shot. But the hatred was intense.

β€œMai! Gisele!” Speaking of the Captain. At the sound of the woman’s voice, the First Mate of the Jolly Roger strode quickly towards the hatch to better hear the orders. β€œDon’t bring up the girl or the others β€˜til we know the coast be clear.”

A wicked grin pulled across Gisele’s face, β€œAye Cap’n!” She shouted back, making her way back towards the guard position over the captives. After one last drag, the remains of the cigarette caught fire in her hand. There was no surprise or shock, even when the fire licked across her fingers. There was a moment where she just the cigarette burn to ashes and the fire trying to consume her hand. But it didn’t happen, the fire licked, but her skin remained unharmed. Since coming to this island, the woman had come to love fire. She could still feel the sting of the burning, but it was a part of her now.

β€œYa ready, Mai?” Gisele’s eyes lifted up towards the other woman who was tasked with guarding their prisoners. The firelight reflected an orange-red glow in her hazel eyes.

A soft whistling noise drifted from the rocky reef that was just off the island of Neverland. It mixed with the gentle crashing of the ocean against the rocks. The sound wasn’t the most interesting musically; it was more rhythmic, brief, and soft. It came from a simple conch shell that had part of its spiral point removed. The shell was in the hands of what appeared to be a young woman; very long blonde hair fell about her in straight damp layers. The only clothing she wore was a tunic of netting and strung with various bits of shells to veil her upper body. It was the lower body that would make one pause and realize she was not human... At least... Anymore. Where two legs should be, was instead a long fishtail. Iridescent scales covered it, and white frills were down the sides.

A particular rock breached the water's surface, allowing her to sit on the edge and keep her tail submerged. Occasionally, she would stretch it up and out while curling the fin upwards. Pulling the conch down and setting it in her lap, her gaze turned upwards to the sky. This night, there was little light, only the tiny sliver of a crescent moon and the faint starlight. The mermaid known as Lily knew what this night meant; she could remember a long, long time ago a similar night. It sent chills down her spine, but she also knew how important it was. This moment was so critical that she had to bear witness to it. She moved to set the conch against a crevice in the rock where it wouldn't get washed away. With a slight push, she slid off the rock and beneath the water. With a vigorous swish of her fin, she took off in the direction towards the rocky beach where the Jolly Roger would anchor itself time and again. There was no attempt to get close; she wasn't a fool. But at least she got close enough to make out whatever was going on. Her head was just barely above the surface, ready to flee if the chaos from the encounter got big enough.

The faeries could always sense when the cycle was restarting, but this one was different. Though they hadn’t made it explicit it was clear that the island was dying. Sure it was still as beautiful as the day Clara first arrived, but the magic wasn’t the same as it was before. She could feel it in the way the flowers bloomed. Clara wasn’t a part of their discussions but she could sense the tension. There were conversations behind closed doors, bouts of frustration with limited magical abilities. It used to bother her but she’d grown used to being an afterthought.

With their magic waning it was too risky for them to leave their hideout so they sent Clara to watch as Hook rode in. They hadn’t told her what to watch for, but she knew it was important. While they often sent her to run their errands, they rarely seemed so serious when doing so. She wasn’t usually trusted with matters of importance unless it was a matter of safety so she didn’t ask questions when they sent her on her way.

She would often go to watch the ship as it came in, wishing she could once again be the one trying to help those children. Usually she would have to sneak out so it was convenient to have the grace of the fairies this time. She had flown high atop a tree, warping the leaves around her to provide camouflage. There wasn’t much the faeries told her to do except observe and report, but already Clara had the twisting sensation in her chest that everything was about to go wrong.

As the ship approached the shore a shudder went down her spine. It had been decades since Clara was last aboard that ship, it was more of a phantom than anything. A ghost that re emerged from the shadows every so often to haunt her. It always seemed so small from a distance but as it rushed through the waters she was still disturbed by it’s grandeur.

There was a sparkle of moonlight glinting across the water, catching Clara’s eye. Though she couldn’t make out who it was she recognized the movement of a mermaid rushing through the water. It would seem that the faeries were not the only ones who wanted to have eyes on the Jolly Roger tonight.

She wondered who the victims were this time. Once upon a time she would have worried about how scared they must be, but now she had to remind herself to be concerned about such things. She could feel her compassion fading - that’s why she had to keep coming. Clara had to see the horror to remember.

Suddenly Clara was aware of the eerie silence over the island. She shifted the leaves around her, slowly lowering herself. Careful to linger below the tree line to remain unseen she found another tree to perch herself within, manipulating it’s branches and leaves to provide coverage. She peered through her makeshift blockade watching the beach intently.

β€œMore wind, MacLeod! Me body be feelin’ the lack of magic and I don’t much like it! Our bones be turnin’ ta dust! Get us back!” Captain Hellier called out to the helmsman up on the quarterdeck. A tall, lithe man dressed head to toe in black leather stood at the helm of the Jolly Roger. Once also the navigator, there was no longer a need to read the stars. The magic of the fairies guided the ship into the realm without magic and pulled it back again on its invisible leash. Now, with the magic of the island reverberating through his body, he uses his aerokinesis to push the ship through the waters.

Ciaran MacLeod has been with Captain Hellier since the golden age of piracy and Nassau. While generally, he was loyal, he didn't always accept being told what to do. He never betrayed his Captain for someone else but he'd find little moments to not do exactly what he was told. Tonight. he was particularly enjoying the smell of the sea air. The only part about the runs was the crisp night salt air of the realm he once knew and loved. The air was different in Neverland. He used his magic to speed up the ship as commanded but he didn't to his full capacity. He wanted to prolong the night just a bit.

When they passed through the veil and the cliffs materialized before them, he sighed. Besides the dirty business that was about to occur, he sighed to be back in the monotony of the place. Everything is the same day in and day out. The seclusion and unpredictable nature of time (or lack thereof) over hundreds of years had made him so stir crazy it was bordering on psychosis at this point.

The Jolly Roger began gliding towards the slip as drawn by magnets. Ciaran moved down the steps to the main deck, lighting a cigarette as he went. His heavy boot-clad footfalls thudded across the wooden planks of the deck, carrying him over to the stairs to the levels below. He took a long drag off his cigarette, the tip of burning bright for a moment, then let the smoke drift back out on his breath.

β€œG, Mai, you got this?” He offered his help to his crewmates but really wasn’t keen on actually helping. He was so tired of this business that had no clear point, no clear end-game.

Mai was below deck with Giselle and the captives, practicing her aim between her daggers and the mainmast. She glanced up at him with a weary look. They’d done this countless times. β€œGo blow your wind somewhere else, MacLeod.” She gathered her daggers and slipped them into the strap across her chest. Ciaran grinned his classic sideways grin and turned on his heel.

From their hiding spot among the sharpened rocks below, Pan and a few of the Lost Boys remained on the wayside, watching as the others took up post in their respective posts. If anything were to happen, the Lost Boys would know when to act. They had done this dozens of times over, and while not perfectionists by any means, they had their ways. Pan's dull-lit green eyes surveyed the coast, scoping out for any stray pirates that may have been left around for this exact purpose. From what they could tell, there were none. Perfect. As they awaited the ship, a few more indivuals joined them. Aisling and Molly, Pan noted. Turning to face them for a moment, "All clear on the North side?" Pan questioned.

There was a brief moment of pause, as the two Lost Boys exchanged glances with the others, "From what we could tell, that seems to be the case, Pan." Aisling finally spoke up. Molly nodded alongside her silently. Pan gave Molly a small smile before looking at Aisling, "Good. Now, I'm going to want you to keep your eyes on the boys tonight, Ais." Pan started. Aisling tilted her head, not entirely sure she knew what her leader was referring to. Pan bit their bottom lip before continuing. Tobin and Liall. They...They've been on edge all week, and it's only gotten worse tonight. Liall is doing what he can but Tobin..." there a brief pause before Pan sighed heavily. Rubbing the back of their neck.

"I don't like where it seems to be going with him." Aisling looked at Pan silently for a moment, before giving a clearly regretful nod of her head, "I understand, and will do what I can to keep him in line. If he steps out of it though, I can't promise anything good will come of it." Pan gave a small nod, knowing exactly what she meant. Tobin had been incredibly out of line lately, and his actions have been doing more harm than good lately. Anyone with eyes could see it.

Looking back out to the ocean for a moment, there was another odd stillness in the air for just a moment, before there was a sudden breeze that seemed to shake the very land of Neverland itself. Looking up into the night sky, they saw an all too familiar shape in the far off distance. They had at least a few more minutes before Hook attempted to make land and anchor off at the port. Pan felt a small tug on their sleeve, looking down to see Molly. "It will be okay." Pan reassured softly, gently smoothing down the young Lost Girl's hair with Pan's open palm. "But will you be okay?" Molly finally peaked up. Pan looked down for a moment, before looking back at her, their eyes scanned her over before a softened and solemn expression over came them, "I'm not so sure..." Pan requited. Looking back up at the night sky, the ship was slowly getting closer.

"I do want you both to listen to me though, alright?" the three exchanged looks for a moment, before Pan began to talk again, "I want you both to stay here, with the others. I'll be going in alone this time-" "What? You can't be serious, can you? You want us to just stay here, while you go up there? With a bloody pirate who wants you dead more than anything else?" Aisling cut Pan off, her eyebrows knitted tightly across her forehead. "I know you have a lot of questionable ideas, Pan. But that is by far the worst one you've ever told me." she continued to barate them. Pan raised a hand to attempt to ask for permission to talk, but Aisling continued, "And what? Were you just going to go up there and talk to her?" she asked sarcastically.

There was another brief pause, Aisling's eyes scanned over Pan, who was only able to return her look with a sheepish one of their own. Rubbing their neck as they did so. "Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me. That was your big idea for tonight?" Pan was finally given the floor to speak, defensively raising both hands up, "Yeah well, at this point, that is the only thing we can do. Everything else has resulted in people dying, or worse and...We are running out of time, Aisling. Neverland is dying. If we don't fix this, now...We lose everything." Pan stated as calmly as they possibly could. Aisling took a heavy, deep breath as she managed to compose herself. Trying to push aside her wishes of wanting to take Pan by the back of the head, and make sure their damn head was screwed on right. Clasping her hands in front of her instead, "I know...So...Just...Be careful, alright? The moment we feel like something is off, we're coming to help you." Aisling nodded.

Pan knew there was no arguing this, even if they did, Aisling would win it in the end anyway. Just like most arguments the two had. Giving it another minute, Pan looked back up, and saw that the ship was making its way over at a faster right. Ciaran. They noted. Damned aeromancy. With a final sigh, Pan got to their feet, keeping low as they did, "If all goes well...It shouldn't take too long but...We'll see. And if it goes south, just...Try to look after the others and get out of here if you can." with that, Pan took another deep breath, remaining silent as shadows formed and grew around them, entirely enveloping Pan in them, until they were nearly invisible to the human eye. Erebokinesis was an incredibly rare form of magic, and it was the one that Pan herself had been given by the faeries, as part of the curse. It allowed her to control and bend shadows and darkness itself to her every whim. But it wasn't always that way. There was once a time it was untamed and dangerous in the wrong hands. And well, seeing as one of their own had been banished for wreaking havoc with what they simply called The Shadow. But now, it had been tamed and controlled by Pan, and the two worked one and the same.

Looking over to the direction of the Jolly Roger, Pan used the attribute of cloaking that the shadows gave her, and took off into the air. As she enclosed on the Jolly Roger, Pan kept low, flying alongside the shadows of the ship itself to her advantage. It was only as the ship began to enclose on the port, that Pan decided to finally act. Moving up along the outer side of the ship and towards the bow of the ship. Hearing voices and orders being thrown around, Pan froze for nearly a moment as that all too familiar voice hit her ears.

"And if any of you hear tickin'... Shoot it.”

Pan swallowed the lump in their throat, even now, hearing that voice made anxiety grow and spread throughout their body. Maybe this was a bad idea after all. Shaking their head, Pan managed to gather whatever courage, or more specifically, stupidity, and flew up to the bow of the ship. Several figures were all stationed and ready for anything at a moment's notice. Pan only dropped the cloaking as her feet hit the wood of the deck of the ship. Finally making her presence known to the crew of the Jolly Roger. Pan's eyes immediately landed on none other, than Captain Hook herself.

Silence nearly took over the entire ship as everyone either had their eyes locked on Pan, or Hook. Waiting for either one to make their move. Pan took a deep, but shaky breath, slowly appearing as if to retrieve the sword by their side, but instead of unsheathing it, Pan's fingers unclasped the metal that held it in place and let the holster and scabber clatter to the floor. The sound of a damned pin dropping could still be heard as neither party had spoke yet. The only sound heard was the sound of the crashing waves of the ocean below. Another moment passed as Pan looked back up across the way at Hook, finally raising up both hands by her head in the air, as the universal sign of surrender. "Whether you choose to believe me or not...I am not here to fight. The others are posted around, but they're awaiting my orders." Pan finally spoke up, taking a moment of pause. But never once did they take their eyes off of the Captain. "Whether you decide to believe me or not, that is up to you. Kill me where I stand. Beat and torture me all you wish. I won't stop you, and neither will the others as I refuse to give them orders." Pan's eyes finally broke away from Hook, and looked around for the briefest moment. Taking into account as to who was here on deck. Some were missing, and if she were to guess, the others were with the kids.

Looking back over to the Captain, "You can kill me if you so desire. I won't stop you this time. But I am done fighting, Xaria." Pan's voice broke for just a moment as that name left her lips. Taking a moment before continuing, "I just want to talk things through. And after, if you still wish to kill me, then so be it. I am your's to kill, and I won't fight you. But you can feel it. We all can...Neverland is dying, and so are we..." Pan slowly retrieved something from the small pouch on their hip, kneeling down as they placed whatever it was on the deck of the ship, taking a moment before looking up, "She died two weeks ago...My magic is failing because of it." Pan gently picked up Tinkerbell's all too small form, holding it gently in her hands. "How many more of us need to die, before we all realize that things are falling apart? I know you all feel it. Your magic isn't as strong as it used to be. The days are beginning to meld together. Neverland is dying, and we're all next in a matter of time."

Pan looked around at the others in hopes of gauging their response to such a revelation. Faeiries don't just drop dead from nothing like this. Sure, they would eventually age and pass on as all things do. But Tinkerbell was barely even three hundred years old, which was considered a child in the terms of how old Faeiries lived. Pan could tell that this was a warning, not just to her and the Lost Boys. But to everywhere on Neverland. Whatever was happening on this island, was strong enough to kill a Faeiry, and Pan didn't like any of this. If Hook had even an ounce of rationality left, and a sense of self preservation, now would be the moment their differences and personal squabbles to be put aside. Neverland itself depended on it.

The sound of a distant clock ticking penetrated the silence that surrounded the room. Wendy was teased by the sound of time passing, knowing that she had lost track of time since her and her brothers' kidnapping a few months earlier. Even yet, knowing that time was inevitable was unsettling. She was curious about her fiancΓ©, Edward, if he had been searching for them or whether he had missed her. The thought of his abandonment pricked at her emotions to the point of tears. She refused to cry, though, since she was the oldest child and was responsible for her brothers. Furthermore, she would not give the wicked woman with the crocodile mouth hat who kidnapped them any pleasure from her pain. She subsequently learned that the woman in command of the Jolly Roger was known as 'Captain Hook' by the voices aboard. That's all they were: sounds with no faces to identify them. She has heard numerous things from passing people's footsteps, but no one has revealed the cause for their abduction. Wendy couldn't make sense of it all even now. She felt like she was on one of those TV prank programs where the presenter would rush up with a microphone, and the camera team would follow. But there was no presenter or camera crew, just months of silence.

The ship swayed violently because of the rough seas, causing Wendy to collide with one of her brothers. It was John who shrieked, "Ow! Wendy, be careful.” He sounded agitated. Not only had they not been sleeping well lately, but Wendy was aware that her brother suffered from terrible motion sickness. When they were initially dragged aboard the ship, she heard him hurling over the deck. John is coping with it easier as time passes, although some days are better than others. And this was one of those days when he didn't need to move much. Wendy and her brothers, on the other hand, were not aware that the route would be different this time. Still, they had felt it. Its waves became more turbulent, and the cracking of the ancient wood became more audible, indicating the ship's effort to move. There was also an eerie and mystical feeling in the air.

β€œI'm sorry, John.” Wendy directed her voice to the side where John sat. Wendy pushed her weight up off the hardwood surface with her shoulder until she was back in her cross-legged posture. The three siblings sat in the center of the ship's cargo hold, blindfolded and with their wrists tied behind their backs. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. They spent most of their time with Captain Hook, blindfolded and with their hands restrained from escaping. And when Michael tried to take the sword from Hook's sheath on the day they were abducted, the pirates kept a closer watch on the Darling brothers as the Hook had instructed.

Wendy called out to her younger brother in hushed tones, "Michael, are you there?”

β€œY-yes, I'm here.” Michael's voice could be heard from the other side of John, who was seated in the middle. He sounded anxious but not as weary as John. However, his tone questioned their very existence. Wendy had never doubted that her brother John was the fearful kind. On the other hand, Michael smiled in the face of his worries. He was always the first to take the risk, much like his elder sister. But Michael was frequently rash in this regard, which is why they were in a bind. Nonetheless, Michael looked up to his older sister. He admired her bravery and wished to be like her. Dr. John Darling, on the other hand, hoped for more sensible procedures. In contrast to his two siblings, he never sought thrills and avoided situations that posed an immediate risk to him. Instead, he was cautious and realistic in his activities.

Wendy opened her lips to say something to Michael but was cut off by the distant sound of heavy feet approaching. Wendy received a chill down her spine with each footstep cracking the hardwood floorboards inching towards them, and she felt an instant desire to defend her brothers even as she heard the jangling of keys and then the clank of what sounded like a prison door opening. Wendy first sensed the presence of someone observing them, watching her. Then she heard the boots scuffing down the wood in her direction, coming to a halt in front of her. Wendy sat up straight, her head up high in defiance to conceal her dread. She kept her calm even though the stale smell of cigarettes burnt at her nose. She looked at whoever was in front of her, blindfolded. She was aware that they were looking at her face and waiting for her to break. When Wendy did not comply, cigarette smoke was thrown into her face. As the smokey stench stuck in her throat, she wrenched her head to the side, coughing. Wendy's cough intensified only after the footsteps departed, closing the cage behind them, and she had no idea she had been holding her breath for so long.

Wendy heard a woman's voice shouting out to her captain. And it was discovered that the individual responsible for disrespectfully blowing smoke in her face was one of Hook's crewmates. She simply didn't know who it was. Nor could she recall their name, which was Genesis or Gisele? Her voice seemed all too familiar to Wendy.

The Jolly Roger landed hard on the beach, throwing the siblings forward until they face-planted on the wood panels. They moaned in pain before pulling themselves up. Wendy waited until the sounds she heard receded before speaking. β€œGuys,” she said quietly. β€œI think something is wrong.” The noises of men and women shouting in the distance, hundreds of footsteps racing about the ship, and the clinking of weapons throughout the ship all indicated that something was indeed wrong. Wendy pondered where they might be when the ship came to a halt.

She heard a loud whistle coming from where John sat. "Hello, you!?" Wendy's stomach plummeted as soon as Michael's voice rang out. "I'm sure you can hear me!" Wendy's head jerked in the direction of Michael's words.

"Michael, be quiet!" she chastised him, knowing that he would do something he'd later regret, such as piss off a pirate. She could hear her two brothers fighting and their clothing being shuffled. "Hey, what was that for John?"

"Please, stop both of you," Wendy snapped at the two grown men, tossing her head and rolling her eyes beneath the blindfold. "They can hearΒ us."

Michael snorted. "Well, isn't that ace. MaybeΒ they can start off by telling us where we are." Then he hollered out once again, this time louder. "Hello, lady!? Where have you gone?"

Michael was right, as much as she hated admitting it. Where were they?

Clara watched as the Jolly Roger slid into its place on the port. She couldn’t make out any faces from this distance but she already knew the figures. There was no mistaking Xaria, otherwise known as Captain Hook. In her days as a lost boy Xaria would haunt Clara’s nightmares. It was hard to understand what Xaria stood to gain beyond an eternity to live out the same cycle over and over and yet she seemed gleeful to do so every time.

Leaning forward as she manipulated some of the shrubbery to part, Clara squinted hoping to focus her gaze when a flash of pink and violet light flew past her face. Most would have the instinct to swat but Clara was well used to this, only leaning back to follow the lights as they swirled around her hiding spot before joining her under her veil of branches.

β€œTulip, Echo - what are you two doing here?” Clara whispered, their twinkles delivering all the sass she needed to understand. They were only two among the faeries who treated Clara as an equal, often helping with whatever dirty work the faeries delegated to her.

β€œThis isn’t collecting mandrake root, you two are exposing yourselves by being here.” Clara held out her hands, the two faeries floating to land in her palm. Echo already had her hands on her hips, she didn’t need to say a word Clara could hear her insisting. They did do everything together but Clara couldn’t risk them being in danger.

Sensing Clara’s apprehension, Tulip floated towards Clara’s face reaching a reassuring hand against the tip of her nose. The corner of her lip pressed together, conflicting emotions evident in her expression. As much as Clara wanted to prove herself to the faeries she had to admit that she did better with her friends at her side.

β€œYou know I want you two to come but-” Her words were cut short by the ring of Echo’s bells. Gliding across the sky it was the unmistakable figure of Pan flying towards the Jolly Roger. Before Clara even had a moment to react Echo already began darting after. Tulip and Clara looked at one another in mild defeat, not bothering to call after as they followed knowing that Echo wouldn’t turn around.

Though they glowed in the night, Echo and Tulip were able to navigate under the coverage of the vegetation to stay out of sight. Clara remained low, her faux wings forged from branches she had manipulated together affixed to her back providing camouflage. As they flew up the side of the Jolly Roger, Clara spotted people through a gunport that had been left open. The canon had been rolled to the side allowing a full view into the interior of the ship.

It was them, the siblings. Clara had seen the same thing many times before, always three. She felt something tug her hair, looking up to see Echo staring down at her impatiently. It wasn’t her business anymore, she knew that. These games were for pirates or lost boys and girls, of which Clara was neither. Looking back, she gave a low whistle to get their attention. Whether they saw her or not she couldn’t tell, tossing a makeshift stone dagger in their direction. She couldn’t stay but that didn’t mean she had to leave them defenseless.

Echo and Tulip were already peeking over the deck when Clara reached them. Pan was standing facing Xaria, surrounded by armed pirates. It may have been years since Clara had spoken to Pan or any of the lost ones, they hadn’t even seen her in her new form - as far as they knew she was still in a 9 year old boy’s body, and probably dead. Still seeing Pan in danger it ignited the most primal part of Clara that felt the need to protect her. Her fingers clutched the deck, trying to hold herself in place.

"I just want to talk things through. And after, if you still wish to kill me, then so be it. I am yours to kill, and I won't fight you. But you can feel it. We all can...Neverland is dying, and so are we..."

Clara tensed, unsure what would happen next. Pan reached for a small pouch on their hip. She and the faeries worked along the side of the deck to get a better angle peering between the windows of the crew’s legs as Pan placed the pouch on the ground. "She died two weeks ago...My magic is failing because of it."

Clara looked to Tulip and Echo with a look of concern, both of them seemingly horrified. She was scared to say her suspicions aloud but she was unable to see what Pan pulled from the pouch. Before she could try to get another angle Tulip had already shot up above to get a birds eye view, immediately darting back down twinkling in hysterics. Clara didn’t have to understand what Tulip said to know, her emotional state was proof enough. She landed on Clara’s shoulder, slumped over in sobs.

β€œEcho - no!” Clara whispered urgently as the pink faery light flew right onto deck.

β€œWhat have you done?!” Echo transformed into her full form in front of Pan. Clara flew to her side, Tulip still atop her shoulder.

After giving Mai shit, Ciaran turned on his heel to help furl the sails. A burst of anxious voices rang out over the deck, causing him to look to the movement overhead. As Pan touched down on the deck, Ciaran called out towards Hook as he drew his pistols. Captain! Pan! Both guns were immediately pointed at Pan's head.

Hook didn't even have to call out an order for arms, the crew circled Pan at a few arms-length, drawing their weapons. They were ready to cut them down as soon as they were given the go-ahead. There was a lot of seething hatred between the two groups, fueled by years of nothing else to think on. Hook had spun to face her friend turned enemy, drawing her swords as well. Exhilaration surged through her veins. She spoke in a cool tone laced with anger, baring her teeth a bit as she spoke, "Hold..." The crew stood still to Hook's command, waiting.

"Whether you choose to believe me or not...I am not here to fight. The others are posted around, but they're awaiting my orders. Whether you decide to believe me or not, that is up to you. Kill me where I stand. Beat and torture me all you wish. I won't stop you, and neither will the others as I refuse to give them orders. You can kill me if you so desire. I won't stop you this time. But I am done fighting, Xaria."

Xaria grinned wickedly at all the suggestion of violence and torture but her expression quickly turned serious when Pan paused. "Then what the fuck you want? Got two minutes.."

"You can feel it. We all can...Neverland is dying, and so are we..."

The whole crew shifted as Pan reached at their hip for a bag. Hook pointed a sword at whatever Pan was reaching for and offered a warning, "Watch it.."

Below deck, Mai heard the call and was ready to act if need be but stayed to guard the cell. She had given Giselle a nod indicating she would stay if Giselle wanted to go up to fight. When the siblings started to chat between them she slammed her fist on the iron bars. "Silence!"

Everyone up top was still on edge, watching intently as Pan laid something on the deck. "She died two weeks ago...My magic is failing because of it. How many more of us need to die before we all realize that things are falling apart? I know you all feel it. Your magic isn't as strong as it used to be. The days are beginning to meld together. Neverland is dying, and we're all next in a matter of time."

Hook didn't get closer but did try to peer into Pan's hands. She pointed her sword toward Tinkerbell as she spoke, "Why should I care 'bout a dead devil pixie. Good riden-.." Hook readied both swords a false of light became a full-sized fae, quickly joined by a second, not yet noticing Tulip. She called out to the cluster of Pan and fairies, "You lied, Pan! Any last wishes?"

Regardless of the stresses and anxieties that had been coursing through her veins, Pan had managed to stand with an air of confidence as she spoke. Trying her best to have kept her eyes on Hook all the while, but Pan's eyes would occasionally drift about the various Pirates that stood about the ship. All had already drawn their weapons, or had an arrow armed ballista aimed towards them. Even though, the Pirates that made up the crew of the Jolly Roger, knew full well that Pan was Hook's, and Hook's only. Unless the Captain gave orders, Pan was to be left untouched. It was how things were ever since Pan left; betraying Hook and their men. It was a regret she still held to this day. She never should have left all those years ago. But here they stood, facing off as enemies, much longer than they had ever been on the same side. Which honestly did hurt Pan to think about, more than she wanted to think about.

The silence that filled the air when neither talked was palpable. Pan was going to speak again after Hook asked why she should care, until suddenly an unknown voice rang out. And for whatever reason, it was aimed towards Pan as a figure that Pan didn't recognize appeared in front of her. Immediately, joined by another as well, and a small one on the second person's shoulder. Pan recognized them as Faeiries, at least two of them, for obvious reasons. Pan was completely bewildered by the sudden accusation by the one who blamed them for Tinkerbell's death. Blinking a few more times before finally shaking her head, looking at the one who had yelled at her moments before, "I don't know who you are, or what you're assuming, but I have done nothing." Pan started, side-eyeing the other two.

From what Pan could tell, she didn't recogonize either of these people, at least not at first. Pan took a moment to look over the figure who had the Faeiry on her shoulder. Pan's eyes scanning her over, trying to place a finger on why they seemed vaguely familiar to her. But nothing came to mind. Pan didn't know many Faieries, but she was clearly a part of them, somehow. But now wasn't the time to worry about that. Pan looked across the way, back at Hook. Swallowing hard when she too accused Pan of something, for once, Pan had done absolutely nothing. And yet, here she was. Accepting the blame. With a sigh, Pan shook her head, stepping aside in front of the Fae. Whether they were allies or not, Pan wouldn't let anything happen to them, not yet anyway.

Looking back at Hook, Pan's eyes locked on her target. "I know I've done a lot of things, but lying? Realy?" a look of disbelief overcame Pan's face as they looked at the Pirate Captain. Pan finally broke away from looking at Hook, and turned her attention back to those one not only blamed Pan for Tinkerbell's death, but now caused far more trouble than wanted. "If you think, that I would kill my best friend...You are sorely mistaken." Pan's voice uncontrollably shook as she spoke. Swallowing the lump in her throat, "Her light...It started to go out months ago. I was going to bring her back to the Colony, to try to help her but...She refused. She said she was fine. That she'd be okay in no time but.." her voice broke, taking a deep breath. She needed to compose herself before her emotions got the better of her.

"-Two weeks ago...I went to check on her. It was too late by then. I don't know what did it for sure but, it wasn't normal. Faeiries don't just get sick, and then...die. No Faeiry in history has just fallen ill before, right?" Pan knew the three that stood in front of her, knew that. They were Faeiries after all. It was known for their kind to occasionally die, such as someone refusing to believe in Faeiries in the presence of one, but no one among the Lost Boys and Girls would ever do it. Not even Tobin. People respected Faeiries too much to stoop that low. So, knowing Faeiries couldn't normally just fall ill, it didn't make sense.

Looking back at Hook, hands out by Pan's side in a none-agressive manner, "You should care because they don't die like that. Faeiries literally cannot fall ill. When they do die, it's immediate. Whatever did this, is capable of killing a Faeiry, Hook. If whatever is killing this island, can kill a Faeiry, who says it can't do the same to us?" Pan looked around, managing to make eye contact with one of the pirates. She recognized her from her time when Pan was a member of the Pirates. Taliesin. He was one of the older pirates, who acted as more of a combat mentor, even having taught Pan how to properly use a sword back then. "Taliesin-" Pan called out to him. The man looked highly confused as he stepped forward, sword still withdraw, blade pointed at Pan, "Yes?" he questioned. Pan took a moment, "You were the one who first told me about Faeiries, so you know better than me, is what I just said true, or false."

There was a small pause as the man looked between Pan, and his Captain. "You'd be correct...Faeiries don't normally get sick, nor is there a known sickness that they can aqcuire." Taliesin took a step back, but still kept his offenses up. "So, why does it matter again? Your Faeiry is dead, yes. And I greatly apologize, but why should it concern us, exactly?" another one of the pirates spoke up. It was one of the younger ones that Pan also recognized. It was the older brother, Eden. His sister, Castiella must have been somewhere. "-I don't know how many times I need to repeat myself here but..." Pan started, entirely exasperated with this whole ordeal.

"Something is happening that none of us now. For all we know, it could be nothing, or it could be a sign for us to stop being at each other's throats, for five god damn minutes. We're only in this mess because of just that, differing ideals." Pan took a moment, before shifting her gaze back at the Pirate Captain. "I came here to try and help you. But, if killing me where I stand now, is what you so wish, then so be it." Pan said as she kept both hands raised, putting them behind her head, and knelt on her knees, keeping upright. "I'm not fighting you anymore. So go ahead. But just know, dying always will be such an awfully big adventure."
