The ever beaming sun that usually hung far above the Mainland of The Isle, had long since set, and the moon had since taken its place in the murky abyss above. Instead, was a slight sliver of silver, that appeared as more of a portal or opening to some other world that lied behind the blanket of stars that twinkled in the moonlit night sky. On nights like this, if one knew where to look, they'd be able to see constellations in every direction, that went on for miles. If one was even lucky, chances would have it that they might spot a shooting star. But, on this night, things were different. There was a stillness.

Even the air itself felt off. It was always this way, on nights like this. Next to no noise filled the air, besides the crashing of the waves below the cliff bluff that overlooked the ocean, and the occasional gust of wind that would whisp by one's ear. Everything else, was dead silent. The Mainland, was usually full of life. Creatures and insects of the night would be making their calls. Birds of night such as owls and some unknown species would be busy hunting prey. But tonight? Not a sound.

A lone figure was sitting off from everything else, sitting on one of the higher pillars of the cliff-face that faced the open waters. They were in a crouched position, both feet firmly planted flat against the cold stone, but were busily looking up towards the inky black night sky. The night skies here in Never Land, were unlike any other one could see. From here, if one looked up on a clear night, they'd be able to see the stars and planets among the vast expanse of the cosmos. The veil between this island and reality were an odd thing. Almost enchanting if some dared to think about it for too long.

"It's almost time...", a young boy's voice spoke up. Breaking the silence that had long filled the air around them. "They should be here soon.", another voice came not soon after. "Thank you, Liall. Tobin. I'll be there shortly." the figure said, finally looking at the two Lost Boys who had come to remind them. Looking back out at the starry filled sky, they let out a sigh. Liall slowly walked up beside their friend, placing a hand on their shoulder, "It's going to be okay, you know? Everything will work out this time, Pan." Liall tried saying with a reassuring tone. Tobin simply rolled his eyes in an annoyed manner, folding his arms over his chest. "Because Pan never fails, right?" Tobin prodded.

Liall looked back at Tobin, giving him a small glare. The other Lost Boy raised both hands up in mach defense, glancing back at their leader for a moment, "I'll go and alert the others, make sure they're ready for things." Tobin gave a small, reluctant half bow and turned back, making his way back to the village further down the cliffside and into the woods. The remaining two exchanged looks once more, "Ignore him. He's just trying to get the best of you, Pan...It'll be fine, truly." he gave a faint smile in Pan's direction. Pan let out a small sigh once more, combing her fingers through her hair, pacing a bit. "But he is right, Liall. We mess this up tonight...This could be our last chance and, we can't afford that. Not now." Liall slowly nodded in agreement, he knew, just as much as anyone else, that tonight was the night to get this done. There was no more waiting. They were already running out of time as it were. They all wanted it to be over, and the time to act was now.

"Go back with Tobin, get the others who are coming. You'll meet me out by the large rocks near the gull, act on my signal. We need to use their arrival as leverage and cover. They'll be expecting us regardless so, speed is key this time, I think." Pan said as she turned back to Liall, who gave her a small nod once more. "Yes ma'am." Liall said with a salute, and turned back to the Lost Boys encampment.

Then there was one left. Pan slowly looked back up towards the night sky, closing her eyes for a moment, and took a deep intake of breath. Any and all nerves that were felt in this moment, neeeded to be shaken off and forgotten. Now wasn't the time for cowardice. Pan reached for the metal pan flute that was hanging by one of their belt loops. It was strung on a leather bound strap, and pulled it up to their lips, blowing into the flute, they let out a single note. It was the last call for the Lost Boys to begin making their way to the rock pillars down by the shore, where the Jolly Roger would be coming in once they arrived. Which would be within barely a few minutes.

Pan headed towards the shoreline first, staying low among the large rocks below. With the mix of crashing waves, the darkness of night and lack of any form of light to give away their position, Pan had a perfect place to lie and wait for the arriving ship. With the reassurance of a few of the Lost Boys and Girls, those who were able-bodied enough to help anyway, had come along. At least for the terms of a distraction at the very most, pan wouldn't risk them fighting off the pirates, not again.

It wasn't much longer until the large shadow, of an encroaching form made its appearance. A large pirate ship coasted along the waters, before eventually coming to anchor down by the large rocks and port. Pan took a deep breath once more, hands shaking for just a moment before she managed to recollect herself. It'd be fine. They just needed to locate the kids, get them out, and Pan would play as the key distraction. This was all far routine by now. An endless game of cat and mouse that everyone involved in knew by now. Things never changed, it was always the same. Everything was, except for the outcomes. And this time, Pan wasn't going to let things end like they had last time. They'd succeed, but the only difference, Pan had a different plan in mind this time after they got the children out. And hopefully this time, they'd be able to make everything work. They just had to..
