Introduction
But Yuko did have another plan.
She began to summon people from all dimensions, willing them to come to her. Some came gladly, others were brought by force. But when they all got there, they were told their fate and that of time. She told them that they needed to defeat Zarco, to fix what damage he has done and bring balance back to the dimensions. She warned them of the troubles that may come: war, disease, famine. But she would be there to guide them...at a price. For every request they made of her, they had to give one item--pysical or not--that they held dear to her. They also had to do this up front for the ability to travel through the dimensions, but she carefully left that out until the end, when she had basically everybody on board. So they embarked on their journey. They may have to end wars, restore peace, or fight off the forces of Zarco himself. But Yuko has faith that they will emerge victorious and become the heros of time!
~~~~~
Basically, this is like a series of smaller roleplays all tied together with a single main conflict and plot (just like the show). You can't be any of the canon characters. This happens after their adventures. Although you might know them somehow, through legend or otherwise. Heck, there might even be a chance that you meet little Syaoran or Sakura running around somewhere, but they won't be on their adventure or anything.
You don't have to know a lot about the manga/anime to be able to contribute well to the roleplay. I've given about all you need to know about the roleplay itself, but here's a bit about the canon story:
The series begins by introducing childhood friends Syaoran, a young archaeologist who is investigating a ruin within the Kingdom of Clow, and Sakura, princess of the Kingdom of Clow and daughter of the late king Clow Reed. When Sakura visits Syaoran in the ruins, her soul takes the form of a pair of ghostly wings that disintegrate to other dimensions. As she descends into a catatonic near death state, Syaoran meets the Dimensional Witch, Yūko Ichihara, to whom he begs for help to save Sakura. Yūko is also visited by two others who each have their own wish: Kurogane, a ninja who wishes to return to his home world after being banished from his world by Princess Tomoyo to allow him to learn what true strength is; and Fai D. Flowright, a magician who wishes to never return to his home world to avoid his king, Ashura-ō. In exchange for the power to travel across dimensions, Yūko demands that each pay with that they value most: Kurogane offers his sword Ginryū; Fai offers the tattoo that suppresses his magical power; and Syaoran offers all of Sakura's memories that involve him. Yūko then presents them with a creature named Mokona Modoki that sends the group on a journey across dimensions in search of Sakura's feathers. After obtaining the first feathers, Sakura awakens from her catatonic state and starts recovering her memories.[1] During their adventures, the group gradually grows closer to the point that Fai jokingly labels them as relatives.[2] As they travel, they learn that the feathers have special powers and can bestow supernatural abilities to those who possess them.
How you travel:
Mokona Modoki, the little furball who eats you and poops you out in another dimension. He's about 2 feet tall at most, is verrrrry peppy, and loves to cuddle! xD He is also the travelers link to Yuko.
Characters I will accept:
I'll accept almost anything. With this roleplay, you have the ability to chose from a wide range of races (elves, humans, vampires, etc.) and social standings, instead of being limited to one time period, culture, race, etc. You can be royalty, a general in a futuristic army, or a poor elf-mage trying to make his way in life. You can even be a childhood friend/family member of one of the canon characters. Just make them interesting!
If somebody really wants to be Mokona, you can. xD Otherwise he will just be an NPC that you use to contact Yuko and travel.
Characters I will not accept:
An eight foot warrior who also doubles as an ancient wizard who is really 3,000 years old who can summon demons who can turn people into objects at will who can kill people by looking at them who can poop stars who can turn into three types of dragons is NOT realistic in any realm. Please remember that with power also comes weakness. You have to have something that you lose to Yuko.
No Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. You know who you are.
Character Skeleton:
Name:
Age: (at least 16 and up)
Race: (pick anything)
Description: (you may have a picture, but please describe anything not in it)
Powers: (if any)
Culture: (Just give me a short description of your dimension, you don't have to go into too much detail.)
Weapons: (if any)
What you give to Yuko to travel: (this can be a memory, a physical item, or an ability. Examples are in the synopsis.)
Personality:
History: (include who you were before the summoning and if you are happy about it or not)
Extra: (Anything I left off?)
Dyew watched as Gui relinquish his control of fire, turned to Domeki, and tore at his hood, revealing long dark chocolate tresses. A braided leather thong that also held a shining silver ring and a brilliant silver pearl held back his hair. “I will be getting this back.” His look was so serious that none could doubt that he would try. It turns out that he did not have to try because Domeki stretched out to return the item. For a moment Dyew was silent and still and then he looked at the witch. “You ask too much!” His expression was now feral. Rage filled his eyes.
His mind worked quick to quench his anger. After a relatively short time he nodded but the sneer remained until he took back the trinket. White light exploded around him and then faded as quickly as it had come. Once it was back in his hand his expression was completely blank. He stood their looking at the thing as if he had never seen it, knowing only that he had paid his due but not at what cost. He walked away, staring at the leather braid in his hand as if in some kind of day dream, a blank puzzled expression upon his face.
She watched as one by one, her new teammates were forced to pay her for something they didn't necessarily want. None of them asked to be here, except Gui, sort of. And now they had to get rid of things..material or not...that was important to them. This made her start to think.
What else could she give that was important to her? She had lost everything, literally. It had all fallen, and with it her hopes and wants and desires. It had taken with it her home, her parents...her dear sister. It took her memories. There would be no more science class, no more sitting on her roof and watching the clouds all around her. She even missed the City elves. They were cruel and against everything she believed in, but at least they provided amusement for the Underground. The way that they pranced around all high and mighty and preached the word of Emeran was silly and unnecessary. Education was much more practical and important...
Then it hit her.
Her education was the only important thing to her that she had left. Aelita clenched both her fists and her teeth together, angry that she had to be stripped of her thirst for knowledge. What would life be like without it? She couldn't even imagine. She didn't want to imagine. Would she become like one of the City? An idiot who could barely speak, let alone understand everything going on. Would she even be able to remember anything from before the event? Hopefully, Yuko would leave her with some knowledge, at least who these people were and why she was here. But then again, she was a cold hearted witch.
The blonde, red-cheeked elf walked towards Domeki slowly, barely able to pick up her feet and move forward, barely noticing the red-headed newcomer that had just arrived. She quickly cast anaccusing, angry glance at Yuko and stopped before the black haired boy with glasses. "My token of appreciation at my heroism is the only thing I have left..." she stopped, not wanting to finish her statement. She almost considered her other option: staying with Yuko. But that would be worse than anything. She took a deep breath before continuing. "Take my education. Take my knowledge. Take the last thing I have, you evil bitch."
Suddenly, her mind went blank and she passed out.
After a few seconds Dyew straightened and removed his other glove. His left hand was pressed to the girl’s chest, above her breasts and his right was placed on her brow. He shut his eyes and started to tilt his head ever so slowly to the right and down. His eyes darted to and fro under their lids. He remained like this for a goodly amount of time before opening his eyes and nodding to Gui. “She will live.”
If Gui did not rise holding Aelita he would take her up in his own arms. Either way he would glare at Yuko and spit upon the ground. “You are evil and deserve a fate worse than death.” He seemed completely unaffected now by his loss and would pine for it as much as Aelita would for her's. You cannot regret the absence of something you can not remember.
"The girl will be fine. She merely passed out from the rush she probably felt. She'll wake up soon enough. There was a lot of knowledge packed into that small little brain of hers. It'll take time for it to all drain out. Don't worry, she'll remember who you are. She'll know how to eat, and what you guys are doing...to an extent. She won't be a potato. She just might need to be retaught a few things. Not a big deal," she explained to them. She mused at the names they gave her. "Evil, witch, bitch, call me what you want. It makes no difference to me." She paused and returned to her smirk. "But don't think I won't help you with what I can through all of this. I can scan each dimension when you get to them and give you an analysis through Mokona, isn't that right?"
The white animal jumped out of Yuko's hands and waddled over to the group that was slowly accumulating around Aelita. "Mokona wants to help. He will make sure you all get around safe!" he said in his cute voice, sitting on the elf's chest, trying to talk to them all. "Mrs. Yuko isn't as bad as she seems. She's pretty lazy, but she really does want to help you guys out. And she wants to save all the dimensions. And so does Mokona!" he jumped up onto the shoulder of William. "Please put your sword down. It's too scawwy for Mokona." He jumped down and returned to the feet of the witch.
As Yuko explained that they would have to give up something precious to them, the first thought that came into her head was the small medal that she clutched underneath her khaki-colored jacket. She hesitantly lifted the ribbon over her head and gulped. This was the reason she had been able to get into the Air Service in the first place. How could I give it up so easily?! she thought, clenching her fingers around the cool metal tightly. But what would her father do? If it was to restore the balance of the universe, he wouldn't be acting like such a spoiled Clanker! No, he would be skipping formalities and heading straight into the face of danger! She was momentily distracted when another newcomer appeared to them, but shook it off as she turned to Domeki and stretched her arm out to give him her father's medal.
Marin looked up as Aelita fell, her arm recoiling back. She made a surprised noise and leaned to help, but sighed in relief as Gui caught her. Dimensional Witch for sure! What exactly had she done to the girl? she wondered as she narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Yuko. She had taken her education (how, Marin wasn't for sure, though admittedly it was bloody amazing) and it had resulted in this! Rethinking about her decision to give away the medal she held, all previous thoughts were instantly washed away as the Mokona creature made its way to their group and hopped around, reassuring that everything was okay. He could talk too? Sure message lizards had that ability as well, but they hardly had any thought to what they were repeating as they travelled the ship to deliver orders.
With a determined nod to herself, Marin turned to Yuko. "Honestly, I still haven't a clue of what exactly we're doing, but I'll join anyway." To study Mokona and save the universe. "Sir," she said, turning to Domeki, "My father's medal." She dropped it into his hand. "I only ask that it is shown nothing but respect."
Yuko smiled as the last one made her payment, and then diverted her attention back to the angry Gui. "Oh, you can start with the basics...1, 2, 3, A, B, C, and then move up to bigger things. She's a fast learner. She didn't have to give that trait up." Aelita groaned and moved a little. "See, she's starting to wake up now, and just in time. Now that you've all paid, we can get going."
"As for what you will do in each dimension, it depends. It would be nice of you to pick me some flowers." She smirked. "But so you really understand, I'll give you an example. Say you go to a dimension and find only two people in the world you're at. They're feuding and you learn that it is over a magical potato that happened to fall out of the sky one day. You would clearly know that it wasn't supposed to be there, which means it is causing unbalance, so you would need to stop their feud and return the potato to me, who would return it to its rightful world. This is just one example though, and there could be variations of this or something completely different. But in all cases, you will be fixing the wrong in the world and curing the balance, restoring things--either physical or not--to me. If you ever need help and guidance on what to do next, I will always be here to help you and give advice." She paused, looking around at her group of soldiers.
"Most of you think that I brought you here, and in truth, I did. But I only started the event that brought you here. Fate was the one who decided exactly who would be the ones to answer my call. You might say that it is coincidence, that it is by chance that you are here. But I'm here to tell you that you are wrong. There is no such thing as fate: only inevitability. Remember this as you travel. It might help you to understand some things." She stopped, tapping her temple and thinking if there was anything else. "Oh, and one last thing. Due to the mirror effect that all worlds seem to have, you may see people that you know from your world. They will not know you. They are different people living different lives, and only share the face and essence with the person familiar to you. They may act the same and even have the same names, but if you approach them, don't expect them to answer your greetings."
"Are you all ready? Good." She nodded to Mokona without any further time to allow for questions or concerns. They needed to be on their way to defeat Zarco. All this talk was a petty waste of time.
Mokona jumped up in the air, hovering for a moment. "Mokona Modoki, ready to go!" he exclaimed, opening his mouth wide as his magic began to manifest itself, creating a sort of bubble of matter in unusual colors around the travelers. He began to suck them up, pulling them into the portal that he had created, and taking himself with them. Yuko watched with uninterest; this was nothing she hadn't seen before. But to any outsiders, it would have been incredible.
They were there, and then they were gone.
---------------------------
Aelita began to regain consciousness, groaning and trying to lift her body up as she heard strange voices around her. She lay there for a moment, her mind slowly refilling itself with the little information that she had been left with. Her thoughts jumbled around, teasing her and then running away. It was hard for her to hold on to one for too long. I'm here because...I'm here because...I'm here because I have to save...what? Oh yeah. The dee-men-shun thingies. My name is...Aelita. I have a little sister, I think. And Mrs. Yuko the witch is giving me magic! That was about all she could think of. And she could remember some other names. She knew that she had parents, but they went bye-bye. And there were some other people that were here to help her. They were the voices that she heard.
When she finally remembered how to open her eyes, Yuko had almost finished talking. Inevitability? That was a funny word. She wondered what it meant. Yuko had also said something about seeing familiar people. Maybe she would see Mommy and Daddy and Sissy again! It didn't register with her that they wouldn't know her. That was too abstract a concept for her to understand. She could only focus on simple things. Her eyes finally fluttered open, blinking a few times at the light. She saw the funny looking people and giggled to herself. As her empty eyes moved to each one, she thought of names. William, Gui, Martin, Shaxan, D, and someone she didn't recognize all stood near her.
She willed herself to sit up, trying to remember what muscles to use. It was hard, but once she got the feeling of moving again, she could do it pretty easily. She still felt light-headed though, which resulted in her nearly falling over again, but she managed to catch herself, coughing a little and steadying her breath. She looked around a little, watching the bunny creature, Mokona, flying, then she noticed all the different colors that started to form around them, wrapping them in a cacoon. "Pr-prett-y," she strained to say in a soft voice, her lips trying their hardest to move with her tongue to form the simple word. And then they were all flying, weightless in a place that wasn't real, yet couldn't be fake, stealing them away to wherever they were going next.
EDIT: Yuko looked over to Domeki, "I'll give them the dimensional analysis whenever I get rid of this migraine...I need some tea."
He raised an eyebrow as Aelita groaned "huh? wake up already? took you long enough..." Grinning as Monoka said in a cute voice "Mokona Modoki, ready to go!", Gui mused "...so...its name is Monoka Modoki, huh?..." Looked at the colorful bubble in wonder, the sorcerer closed his eyes. Whatever the hell happened in this trip would probably change my life forever...for better or for worse, Gui didn't know...but he was willing to find out. Next to him, he heard Aelita whispered "Pr-prett-y..." chuckling, Gui nodded "...pretty indeed..." As he felt a strange force pulled himself, Gui opened his eyes. The adventure offically began.
I sometimes ask myself why? I am not a religious man. My people are not religious, not in the same sense that most are. It doesn’t really matter what my people or I believe and yet there has always been confusion on the existence of Fate. Destiny is a funny thing to witness. Most believe that it is their own hard work and perseverance that sees them through troubled times and when they receive their reward at the end of the journey it is because of the investment that they have made. These same people curse Fate’s hand when they are stricken with hardship.
Do I believe in Fate? I do and yet I also believe that we make our own way. People believe that darkness is a thing separate from light and yet darkness is only the absence of light. I could use a guide right now.
I have lost all will to live and even the rage that has kept me going these past months has been snuffed out. There is nothing left in me or for me. I would be completely hollow if not for these people and their mission.
Dyew’s eyes had become as a dull grey. The vibrant rainbow colors did not reflect in his iris but motes of light traveled across their surface as if he were looking at a star filled sky. The object he had been holding in his right hand, the small braided rope of leather that he had battled so hard to keep was shoved into his belt pouch with his pipe and tobacco. His shoulders were slumped and his arms hung loosely at his sides as he was taken up with the others.
Re: [OOC] Tsubasa: The Second Age
And hopefully I'll get the dimensional analysis thing up and stop procrastinating tonight. I've just been really busy with school starting back up yesterday, and seeing off an old friend, and not having any ability to write well, that I've not gotten it up. >.> But if you do want to post, and I let you down again, the world is going to be a snow covered world that is typically warm and good for farming. There is a crystal that appeared magically one day that covered the world with snow, causing great trouble for the people. Your job is to fix the problem. I think you can figure it out, you guys are pretty smart! :)
Also, minibear was somebody who had told me earlier that they were interested, and just now gave their character, who will be joining us in this world.
Re: [OOC] Tsubasa: The Second Age
And yeah, your character kind of does remind me of him, so I had Yuko think that. ^^ I love Syaoran, personally!
Also, guys, if I get around to it tonight I'll probably make the post that sends you into the next dimension (which might be long, depending on what Yuko finds to say) so be prepared to post your reactions to travel AND to the new dimension once you get there, as I will be writing Aelita's post about travelling and then Yuko's analysis of the dimension once I'm done. Just a heads up! The next parts don't have to be too rushed, so you don't have to worry about posting right away if you can't. :D
Re: [OOC] Tsubasa: The Second Age
Also, I was very surprised when Yuko said Marin reminded her of a female Syaoran. ^^ Never quite thought of her like that, but now that I think about it, she does have his determination in her if anything. :D
