Roxie looked over the card she had been working on, her lips pursed. She sighed, putting down the paper and was about to go see Ollie when her phone buzzed. She pulled it out of her back pocket, and unlocked it to show the message. It was Victor.
"The phrase 'Lonely, lonely, we came so close before' mean anything to you?"
Her brow furrowed, but before she could read into the message she heard a shot. Followed by more, only seconds apart. It was coming in the direction of Ollie's lab. Ollie!!
Her heart just about stopped beating. No!! She couldn't lose him! Frantic, she raced out of her lab and into Ollie's. The Nightmare had come for Ollie. But at the station?! No no no not Ollie. When she got to his lab, she breathed a huge sigh of relief. He was bleeding badly, tears streaming down his face but he was alive. "Ollie! Thank god you're okay I heard the shots and I was so scared. I thought he killed you!" Tears fell from her wide eyes, as she rushed over to him. She took off her coat, balled it up and pressed it against his shoulder. "You're okay, he's gone. You're safe." She shakily told him, touching his face. "I'm so glad you're alive." She breathed, wanting nothing more than to throw her arms around him. She quickly fumbled for her phone and called for an ambulance.
As she waited for the ambulance to arrive, she focused on calming Ollie down. Which was hard to do, given that she could barely breathe herself. "Ollie, you're okay now. I called an ambulance and he's gone. I'll never let him hurt you again. I-I don't know what I would do without you." She whispered the last bit, trying to smile and reassure him as she softly brushed a lock of his brown hair from his face. He had tried to kill Ollie. Roxie cared about him more than anyone in the world and The Nightmare tried to take that away. Roxie would catch him, if it was the last thing she did. She didn't care if that meant her getting hurt- he needed to be stopped.
