|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||
The island was deserted, the branches of its trees waved with artificial wind flow. Yui tucked a strand of short hair behind her ear and made a slow circle, the sand crunching between her toes, a texture the child had never felt before. "Where am I?" A beach, the one she had seen in her dreams so many times, but where? How had she gotten here? The sun was high in the sky, Yui had to shield her eyes in order to prevent he sun from glaring into them. Behind her, something rustled in the trees and the child turned swiftly, baby blues upturned, at last noticing the strange box that was floating just above the treeline. The child gasped and stepped back, water lapping at her ankles. "A-Ally?" Yui swallowed hard, inching her way towards the trees.
This was a dream, wasn't it? Or perhaps it was truly a nightmare? The culprit materialized before her, a dark reflection of who Yui would have become. "Took you long enough," Loretta grinned, but there was nothing malicious about it. She flicked the child's forehead, then hugged her protectively. "I won't let these people hurt you," she whispered, stroking Yui's hair possessively. "They won't hurt me!" The little fish shook her head, tensing up in Loretta's embrace. "Yes they will, they just want to use you, use us." Yui swallowed hard, in her dreams her wounds had healed, but in the real world, they were still covered in the afflictions of the Matriarch's "love."
"Take me to her," Yui demanded, her expression becoming serious. "No, she's going to hurt you. She tried to invade your mind." Yui shook her head, "No, she was trying to keep you from hurting me!" Yui replied, pushing Loretta away from her. The child's reflection balled her hands into fists, "I won't let you see her! I won't let you see any of them ever again!" Loretta's fists burst with blood, it was clear that she was determined to keep Yui here. "It's my body!" Yui screamed, a sword forming in her own grip. "It's my body, you don't exist anymore! Just, go away!" The two girl ran at each other, tumbling in the sand as their blood collided, shooting them both backwards across the beach. It seemed that they could not clash because they were one entity. "It's my body!" The child screamed again. "I never asked for your protection!"
"Fine, but when they hurt you, don't say I didn't warn you! Don't come crying to me when you're sick of your family using you! Everyone will use you, don't expect to be treated differently!" Slowly Loretta faded and a staircase appeared, leading up to the strange box. Yui took the stairs two at a time, calling her friend's name. "Ally!" Yui screamed, her throat raw as she at last reached the small hatch that had opened up. "Ally, I'm here to save you!"
