Once Upon a Time

An ancient war that preceeds the lifespan of modern times. One of darkness and light, of divinity and sacred freedom. Prometheus, the Titan that gifted humans fire with aim to have the Goddess ascend to rule over the pigs that clearly are unable to rule for themselves. These humans were given fire and instead of creating something greater, they kill each other meaninglessly. What better to do then to summon a Goddess to fix the wrongs of humanity and set the world on the rightful path yet again?

But at what cost?

A Prophecy, with a certain year. A Prophecy, passed down by an ancient family for generations before being handed to its current bearer through sheer chance. Whether to ascend the Goddess or lock her away for eternity, one must possess the Prophecy.

The Reign of Ira Shoku

A spawn of Prometheus, Ira Shoku, now leads Japan with his mighty fist. He controls all as the country's Emperor, and his goal seems to be the destruction of all that is light. A betrayer of Prometheus, his dream of once wishing to save the girl destined to be the Goddess has since been twisted by the darkness of his ambitions. With the cursed Hemond children as his right and left hands, and what's left of his faction of Prometheus serving his mighty Empire, Shoku destroys for the sake of destruction, searching for a meaning he no longer remembers.

It all seemed over. He had the Girl of Destiny under his thumb, he had the prophecy waiting to be deciphered, and the resistance against his power - Hime's Freedom Fighters, his exwife's HIVE, and the scattered gangs of what used to be Tsukasa's Yakuza, all too busy squabbling amongst each other to mount a real rebellion against him. But in a single instant, the tides turned. His own daughter vowed to free both the Hemonds and the Prophecy - but despite being caught yet and her having her plans foiled, the book of destiny has gone missing and it was anyone's guess as to who may possess it now.

His plan cannot proceed without it, and with this, a new opening has shown itself. If those who fight for the light wish to change the course of fate, now is the time to act.

Dia was worried that K might be able to overpower them but Yui was confident. With her powers restored, the Baby Star was determined to finish off this threat once and for all before it was too late. "As you wish, we'll end xim here." Going up against a Star, could Yui do it? Much of Dia's light had been given to Yui, she couldn't fight at full strength anymore. Conversely, Yui had much of her power, meaning she could fight at an extra powerful level of might now. "Are you sure you want to do this?" K asked after the brilliant light burned at their eyes, Yui's special ability coming into action. "You know what'll happen if you beat me, Yui, you Baby Star you." The Star of Freedom had collapsed, no longer a Star. No doubt Cirque would assign someone new to be the next Star of Freedom.

"You won't get a chance to say goodbye, Yui. Once the fight's done and they're all restored, it'll all be over. You'll ascend, and only after that will they return to their senses. There won't be a farewell." By winning this last fight, Yui would be giving up her life as a human, her existence here on Earth with those she loved, doomed to loneliness in the Star Layer. This wasn't Dia's choice to make, so she wasn't going to get involved here. It was up to Yui to decide for herself - but the former Star of Happiness had an idea that she knew what the baby would choose. She would happily give herself up for everyone else's sake, wouldn't she? "All you have to do is give up. I can sever this Layer from Cirque's influence, I can free it from the Stars and you won't have to ascend anymore." Out of everyone, only K knew how to do this. K was the Star of Freedom after all.

"I can give you the normal life you crave." Dia knew, Yui probably did too, that this was the answer they had been seeking this whole time. How do you relieve someone of this terrible burden? Ira Shoku tried his hardest, Hazuki Matsuri did too, even Hime did in the end. Sanctum worked their hardest but in the end they fell, and no matter what Raven concocted she couldn't find a way to save Yui from Ascension. But K had the answer, the golden apple for Yui to eat. "I can make you a normal, living human, happy and free." K gave one last smile before collapsing onto all fours. "If you change your mind, return here... I'll release you from Cirque's chains."

As they left the Antarctic and saw the carnage by Yui's school friends flaring up, there was a lot to talk about. Dia could of course sense the needed people for the strategy through Paradise, Damian, Raven, and Allyana were in various places now. Leo had sealed Ally inside an antilight chamber where she couldn't do anything, while Raven and Mizuki were destroying Australia. Last but not least, Damian was eating the minds of children in Madagascar. Dia relayed that information so Yui would know where to go to collect her friends. "This is your last chance to turn back." Dia told Yui, holding her hand. "I'll support you no matter what you choose." After this, there would be no saving the Maiden of Tragedy, not if she was going to do what Dia thought she would.

"I'm sure," Yui replied, her hands balling into fists. She wasn't going to hesitate anymore, she wasn't going to be scared. This was her decision to make and her's alone. "I've known for a long time that this is what I have to do." This is what she was made to do, after all. Yui smiled gently, not crying per say, but not happy. "All this time... I was just playing normal. I finally got to go to school, I had a family, I was happy. I was selfish." Her real enemy had been closer than she had thought this entire time. Resplendia, Shoku, those were all just distractions from who the real culprit was. "You went up to the surface to find Dia, but what you found instead were humans hurting her and one another. They were greedy, but that was because the stars kept interfering." Yui shook her head, it was about time they took a step back from earth.

Her smile was sad, "I said goodbye a long time ago," she had been prepared for this, she had made her peace with her friends and family. She had spent many nights crying over this revelation that she would never see her family again if she walked down this lonely path. "I won't ever give up K, not now, not ever." Yui shook her head, colorless hair gleaming as though it were a rainbow in the shimmering light of day. "Don't belittle me because I'm the youngest." Yui watched as K crumpled, falling to the side. Not dead of course, but no longer a threat. Yui walked towards the gaping hole in the wall, her wings shining an innocent white. "This is my path to take. I won't let anyone stop me." She said, fully determined to put an end to this war.

Yui smiled when Dia offered her the chance to turn back, but Yui only shook her head. "You and I are the same," she took Dia's hands, interlacing their fingers together the way a big and little sister might do. "We always put others before ourselves. We always want the happiness of everyone else. I just want the world to smile," Dia opened up the gateway of Paradise, allowing Yui the insight inside of it. "We'll go to the closest one first," Damian, who would probably be the easiest to recover. Yui poured on the speed, heading to Madagascar, a tiny island off of the coast of Ecuador. "It's not that large, we should be able to find him quickly." There was a scream from behind them, the entire island seemed to be on fire.

Yui lifted her arms, using a miracle to bring in a large wave from the ocean. It swept across the land, dousing some of the fire. "There!" Damian appeared feral as he hunched over the body of a child, not physically eating their mind, but mentally scrambling them. "Damian, stop!" He turned, hissing as though he were a wild cat. Yui aimed two fingers like a gun, shooting light through him. He fell back, the children scrambling away. "It's the Goddess! Run for your lives! She'll kill us!" The children screamed, disappearing into the flames. Damian rolled to the side, groaning, his face full of pain. He blinked a few times to clear his vision, "Yui?" He whispered, sitting up. "Yui? What's going on? Where are we?"

"I'll explain later, we don't have time to waste."

Yui wanted the world to smile, but could it smile without her? "I look forward to seeing the world you create, successor." They were on and the same. Resplendia spent ten thousand years making seeds to grant wishes and happiness and gave up on her own happiness in the process, her heart and love dying away. Yui would ascend too and then it would be her turn to monitor this world to make sure all remains happy. "I'll be gone when you ascend, but you'll have my memories to guide you." Dia told her as they flew their way to Madagascar, their wings beating in sync. Dia remained in the back as Yui undid the curse in Damian's mind, bringing him back. Next would be to go to Australia where they would have to stop Raven and Mizuki from their havoc in the island nation.

There was such chaos and death going on about the place now. What could be happening? Why, obviously, there was only one real answer. "They're all seeded." Dia told Yui as they approached Oceania's shores, Paradise was reacting strangely here. Was it because her long vigil of ten thousand years was finally going to reach it's end? "It appears that..." And then like the sound of cannon fire they heard it. The entirety of the population was placed on various rooftops and simultaneously they were all told to jump, as commanded by the seeds in their minds. Splat! Thousands of bodies squashed like bugs, men, women, children alike jumping to their death onto the asphalt of the cities.

At that moment, they appeared. Mizuki and Raven, both of them having been waiting. "Oh, it's Yui!" They grinned, holding hands as the citizens of Australia committed ritual suicide around them. "How about we play a game?" They were speaking terrifyingly in sync now. "You can cure one of us, but the other will kill herself. And we know you can only save one at a time, Yui, so you'll have to make your choice." Dia was quiet, but she had an idea. If she and Yui could act at the exact same then just maybe they could save both at once. Hopefully they could work perfectly to fix this conundrum.

One down, three to go. Yui could do this! She explained as much as she could to Damian while they flew, who was still wearing his suit from the wedding. How long had it been since then? Yui had no idea. "So we have to broadcast this message to the whole of the world?" Damian asked nervously. Yui nodded her head, sensing his anxiety. She smiled, trying to soothe his nerves. It was a big mission, possibly the most complex one they had ever taken on. "I believe in you," Yui said gently, holding hands with Dia, who was toting Damian along on a cloud beside them. The wind stung her eyes, sending tears down her cheeks. "Damian, once this is over, I'll be gone for good." Yui said softly and Damian stiffened, reaching out for her. He grasped her sleeve, holding on tightly. "Then don't do it, we'll find another way. Just wait, it might take a little but-"

"The world doesn't have that much time," Yui smiled softly. "It's now or never. When I'm gone, I'd like you to deliver a message to everyone for me," Yui relayed it to him in painstaking detail, what she wanted him to tell them for her. Damian committed it to memory, listening intently. This was Yui's final wish, her last will and testimony. "I-I'll tell them," Damian promised, swallowing hard. He wouldn't forget this, once their family was reunited, he would deliver the message personally. They were nearing Australia now, the location of Mizuki and Raven. Quite possibly one of the most frightening duos out there, the two of them had the power to destroy entire mobs when they put their minds together, it was fearsome to think what they might do when let loose.

As it turned out, Yui got an exact approximation of it. Her eyes widened, crying out as bodies turned to puddles, blood spattering her clothes, her hair, her face. They proposed a game, some sort of sick pact in which Yui would only be able to save one of them. Yui's grip on Dia tightened, if they could act together, they might be able to save both of them at once. "Okay, I'll count to three and then choose." Yui promised, light gathering in her fist. "One... two... three!" She shot the arc of light through Raven, hopefully Dia had gotten it through Mizuki. Raven blinked, sinking to her knees and clutching her head. "Yui, oh my-oh my stars. What have I done?" Raven's voice quivered in horror. Damian knelt beside her, patting her back.

"We've all done things we regret," Yui said as she looked up at the smoky sky. "We need Ally, then we can finally end this."

Right as Yui fired to remove the curse on Raven's mind, Dia acted. Mizuki was about to plant a seed into her mind to instantly shut down all of her systems, killing her in a millisecond. Dia was the only one that would really be able to prevent this - so she sent Mizuki into Paradise, her soul entering in so that she wouldn't be able to activate the suicide seed fast enough. Eventually both Raven and Mizuki were set free from K's influence, both of them coming to their senses. "No! It was my fault!" Mizuki in her bloody wedding dress, crying into her lover's back. "I shoulda protected you, wifey wife!" They were haunted by the bloody sight about them, maybe half of Australia had died before Yui made it here to save them.

The last stop was Japan, to rescue Ally. Luckily she was being contained in the chamber where she wouldn't be able to cause trouble. Leo truly was getting to work, he had prepared for this and was making sure his fiance wouldn't be responsible for any of these deaths that were being caused. "Oh, good, you're here and sane. And you too, mysterious person." Leo gave Dia a respectful bow. "Ally's in there. I assume you can save her, Yui?" The strange young doctor was quite single minded, but Dia could feel the relief going through him. "Duck!" Dia suddenly shouted, rainbow star blocking half of the damage, but all of a sudden Damian's leg was being lifted into the air by a blood tail. Ronan was here, cursed so strongly that a single shot of Yui's heal wouldn't be enough to purify him.

"Don't worry, kiddo." Ronan told her, giving Yui a loving smile. "I'll kill all these filthy humans so they won't hurt you again! Then our family can finally be happy!" His blood tails spread out in a deadly wave, catching Mizuki's arm, ripping it off at the socket. He aimed for Leo but Dia was fervently protecting him, a blood tail sinking into her stomach, strange golden ichor falling out. "He's strong." Dia wasn't enough, she didn't have the power anymore to be able to win against the Black Reaper. "I have an idea!" Ronan suddenly wrapped Yui up in blood tails, trapping her almost in a cage. "Now no one can hurt you again!"

Leo had been waiting for them, but so had someone else. Ronan attacked, having been on the hunt, waiting for Yui to show up. He grinned cleverly, thinking himself to be brilliant for caging her in his blood. Ronan was strong, but there was one stronger. Yui knew she couldn't fight him alone, they would all have to work together if they wanted to win this. "Ronan, you're wrong. This isn't the way to protect me," Yui sliced her finger, her blood sizzling as it hit his. A blood sword formed in her hands, slicing through the cage. "Help me fight him!" Yui called, Damian wincing in pain, but nodding in determination. The blood tail holding him dropped, the telepath nearly becoming splatter on the pavement if not for the white fluffy cloud that he had been suspended on before. "I'm sorry Ronan, you've always been a good big brother," Yui said as his blood tails whipped at her.

She formed a blood shield, using it to protect Mizuki, whose arm was bleeding profusely. Yui could use a miracle to heal it, but she needed to get rid of the main problem first. Ronan came in closer, grinning like a madman. His pupils were dilated to pin pricks, his mind not in control. "You've never known anything about the world, always innocent and sheltered. Just let me keep you naive!" Ronan yelled as a blood tail slashed at Yui's side, golden blood dripping onto the pavement, sizzling everything it touched. Raven tried to attack with seeds, but it only slowed his movements. Damian attempted to amplify it, but mental attacks wouldn't work against someone who was never a thinker in the first place. He dashed forward, crazy fast, a tail wrapping around Yui's throat.

She clawed at it, using her nails to dig into the slippery blood. "Let... go!" Yui gasped, dots filling her vision. Suddenly, Ronan was whacked across the back of the head. Xavier! Only, it didn't seem as though Xavier knew what he was doing. Recklessly teleporting in and out, hitting Ronan again and again. Eventually, Ronan had enough and lashed out, using a tail to grab Xavier's ankle and sending him sprawling through a tree. The momentary distraction was enough to allow Yui to escape and regroup, holding onto Resplendia and barricading Leo into the room with Ally. "How do we stop him?" Damian asked, clearly frantic. Yui bit down on her lip in thought. "We all attack as one!" They would need to boost one another's light productivity if they hoped to take down the Black Reaper.

He was closing in on them, blood tails whipping wildly. "We'll attack on three," Yui took Dia and Raven's hands. Raven took Mizuki's, Damian taking Dia's. They stood together in solidarity, their bodies glowing as the light within them responded to one another. Would it be enough? Yui didn't know. "One... two... three!" She screamed, the light becoming blinding as it aimed for Ronan.

The Black Reaper was going to be their final challenge to save the world. It seemed as if all was lost, no one was able to take him out but then Xavier accidentally attacked him before being launched into a tree. Leo was put in safety and they regrouped. Damian's leg was badly hurt, Mizuki's arm was completely out of the socket but still, they had no choice but to win. "So if we all focus at once, we can win?" Raven had a faint smile, having been out of the action for quite some time now. The former evil genius liked being back in the game. "What'll happen after this, though?" Mizu cast a worried glance Yui's way was if guessing what Dia and Yui both knew. "Don't worry about that for now." Damian said hastily, distracting them. "Let's focus on Ronan first!"

And so hands linked, they attacked, pure light energy bursting forth, Luna and Ren putting their light forth too to help in the attack from within Dia. Ronan pushed against it with his pure darkness, a wicked grin on his face. "I'll win, you can't stop me!" He cackled evilly. "Then I can bring Aria back, you'll be safe, we'll all be happy!" He thumped his blood tails, fighting his hardest against the blinding light. "I'm sorry, but there's no happiness in this." Die appeared behind him, pressing her rainbow star against him to break his concentration. As he spun to attack the radiant light burst forth, ripping him free of the curse. Now he was crying, Ronan was broken, clinging to his sister with what little strength he had left. "If I won, if I won, then I could have kept you here." It seemed K told him what would happen if he lost.

"But now you're going to leave, aren't you? I'm going to be alone again, the last Hemond." For all of his strength, his grief was overpowering that might and he was just a heartbroken brother, doomed to once again be alone. Dia did not know how to help him, or even if there was a way to help him. Still, Yui had chosen her path, she was going to ascend. Even if her family never recovered from this pain, at the very least the rest of humanity could be saved. Some might consider that to be what Yui's decision was - choosing the benefit of all humanity rather than her family who loved her. Did of course, did not see it that way, but how would Yui explain it to the rest of them?

"I don't care about the rest of humanity." Ronan muttered, cured but still fighting, slamming his fist into the chamber, sending blood tails in. "I just don't want you to leave, Yui. So even if it means... I'll do it. I won't let you win." His blood tails wrapped around Ally's throat, and another around Leo's, intending to snap their necks here and now. "Give up, Yui! Stop trying to ascend, we still need you! Aren't we family?" Mizuki was sobbing into her remaining hand, trembling as she knew what this meant, her worst fears confirmed. Raven was standing there, stunned and unable to cry. Damian was breaking again. Would Yui be able to show them happiness?

They did it! They defeated Ronan! Even so, freed of the trance, Ronan seemed to have realized the consequences of what would happen if Yui were to complete her mission here today. He had his tentacles wrapped around Ally and Leo's throats, ready to kill his benefactors of it meant saving his little sister. Yui stepped forward and opened up her dress, revealing a large crack going across her stomach. "I've been broken for a while now," Yui admitted, "it hurts, a lot, but I know that once I'm done, I won't be able to feel it anymore." She smiled and closed the garment once more, sitting beside where Ronan lay on the floor, blood tails jutting out awkwardly from beneath him. "This is my punishment for failing. I'm supposed to save humanity, but even if we keep trying to stop it, the crack will only grow and I'll continue to break until I'm nothing but dust."

Just like Resplendia, who had lost everything, Yui would too. Yui clasped both of Ronan's hands in her own. "You're a star now too, remember?" Yui reminded him softly. "You won't be alone Ronan, never." She reached out to touch his chest, placing a palm over his heart. A soft glow appeared, the lotus blossom emblazoned on his chest, right over his heart. "Pinky promise," his grip on Ally and Leo slipped, tears filling his eyes. "This is my decision," Yui stood up. "I'm not scared, my entire family is here to support me. I know what I have to do now and it's all thanks to you," Yui smiled. "Now, we have to save humanity, even if it means trading one life." Did Yui's eyes appear a bit blank? Could it be her soul had already left her body and she was running on autopilot? Or maybe Yui had stemmed the flow of tears to keep her emotions in check?

"What do we need to do?" Damian asked as Yui healed Mizuki's arm. "We need to go to the Tokyo Broadcasting Network, but we need it to be televised around the world." Yui explained as Ally and Leo recovered from being strangled. Yui had already shot Ally with what almost appeared to be a bullet made of light, breaking the spell. They traveled together, Yui and Dia freeing every light bearer they could along the way from K's mind control. Up in the tower, the technological geniuses got to work, cracking their knuckles, fingers flying. The lights turned on, the cameras whirled around to face the stage, an empty spotlight, just for Yui. She took in a deep breath and smiled, stepping onto the stage.

"Hello everyone! I'm Yui and I'm going to sing a song for you!" She grasped the microphone in her hands, appearing more confident than ever. The lights changed, an unearthly song coming from the child. She danced across the stage, imbuing her emotions into it. Love, peace, light, her gifts to the world that would hopefully be ever lasting. There should be no more need for light bearers, there should be no more darkness on earth. As Yui sang, she began to glow, the light near blinding. It acted like a beacon in the night, drawing others towards the tower. The light cleansed all, washing over earth in a beautiful display of rainbow colors; Dia's power was within her, after all.

"Thank you everyone for sharing your smiles with me!" Yui smiled, tears pooling on her chin as the broadcast ended, the light beginning to recede. The cracks ran deeper down her body, the sun outside beginning to rise. Yui's legs shook, shattering into glimmering bits of diamond. Ronan ran forward, catching her. "I lied," Yui sniffled, tears leaving wet marks down her cheeks. "I'm scared."

Yui did her dance and song of her soul, doing her best as the world's new Star of Happiness. Not even Dia herself was able to contain her emotion and she hugged Yui deeply. Her power was ebbing, fading, there was only mere seconds left before she broke into a thousand pieces of dust, scattering across the winds and the skies to forever travel but never rest. That was the fate of a Star who passed on their powers to the next generation. "You will be my successor." Dia told her, tears streaming down her face. Tears of sorrow for the child she was giving this power too, tears of relief for finally not having to watch over this world, tears of passion at the strength of Yui's last performance.

"You have done well. I'm proud - I was not strong enough to save humanity, but you have. You're more a Star of Happiness than I ever have." She looked to Ronan than with a faint smile. "And you'll be K's replacement, you'll be the new Star of Freedom, I can already feel it. Though, you will still have some time before you have to go." Yui was all about out of time, but Replendia had one last gift to give. "Farewell, Yui. I will return your friends to you now." A bright light and Luna and Ren were separated again, both of them staring bitterly at the scene before them. Still, everyone had the right to say their goodbyes.

"You'll always be my little sister." Ally wept, crying onto the cracking Yui whose ascension was put on pause thanks to Dia's gift. Just enough for last words. "I'm sorry I can't be with you for your next adventure." Raven came up next, embracing Yui and giving her a kiss on both cheeks. "I'm sorry I wasn't a better sister to you. I tried to save you back then, and even now, but in the end I - I couldn't do anything for you." The Empress was shaking, trembling violently as Mizuki strolled in, arm now healed. "I hate you. You're making my love cry, how could you!" She playfully poked Yui's nose as her own violet eyes streamed with sorrow. "Y-you... you gotta do your best, wherever it is you're going. Don't let the other Stars bully you, got it?"

Damian and Xavier went in together to say their last words. "I still remember the day we first brought you back." Damian held her tiny little fingers with loving care. "Me and Xavier, we almost felt like parents to you." They both kissed and hugged the child, the boys breaking as they knew the end was coming. Xavier's voice cracked as he tried to speak but he couldn't get the words out. "You were a helpless child, but now look at you. We're your parents, and now we have to watch our child leave the world before us." Xavier made a helpless sound but in the end he was never able to thank Yui for all the smiles he gave them.

Ronan's turn now. He was quiet as he watched her, eyes burning as an endless amount of emotions swirled through him. "You're really going to leave me, huh, kid?" His eyes were trained on her as if he was trying to remember every last moment, so he could relive it every night when he went to sleep, the moment his baby sister left him forever. Even if he was a Star, who knew if they would ever meet again? "You were my light, more than anyone. What... what am I supposed to do now? Luna's going to break, and I'm not strong enough to hold her together! You - you're so selfish! Why can't you just stay with us? Why didn't you just accept K's fix?" That was her last chance to be able to live out a full human life. "Why are you leaving me?" Ronan's fragile heart couldn't bear it anymore and he stormed out, pushing Xavier out of the way.

Ren took one hand, Luna took the other. "Well, it's time to go." He was ready, he didn't need to say any goodbyes. Luna however was a bit more pensive. She had a bad feeling, it was coming back, her grip on Minako was deathly tight. "You're not going to let us go with you, are you?" Her voice was hard, bitter, but she knew in her heart that this was forever goodbye, not just a see you later goodbye. "What?" Ren's eyes went wide in disbelief. "Wait, what?!" He clung harder then, but Dia's last gift was almost out of time. "No! No, this isn't right! We're your angels, you can't go without us! Don't you know how much I - not just me, we all love you! You're going to be all alone and-"

Luna turned away as Ren wept helplessly, sobbing into her cracked stomach, his pained wails filling the sky with sound and agony. "I guess forever doesn't really last that long." She said quietly, more numb than anything. Why couldn't she summon the energy to cry? The passion to plead and beg? Why did she just feel empty inside? Was this what Mizuki always talked about, back before Luna was even born? The world was grey, she already knew it. Yui gave it color but for Luna it would all be a meaningless fog. "So that's it then, I guess." She couldn't even summon a single tear, she just stood there like a frozen statue as Ren broke into fifty pieces. The world wasn't worth saving, not if this emptiness was the end result.

"I'm not saying goodbye." Luna decided. "So you'll never settle any last regrets with me." The emptiness was growing, her whole body felt cold. "You don't know what happiness is, do you? You never knew, Yui." And she was forcing her false idea of happiness onto them now, the whole family, because she was selfish and wanted to leave them all.

Yui wept along with them, afraid to be alone, afraid of what would happen next. Dia held her hand, informing Yui that she would succeed her, she would be the Star of Happiness, the guiding light of earth, no longer a baby star, but a fully fledged star now. One by one, they said goodbye, holding her, kissing her, whispering words of love and regrets of not being able to save her. "It's not forever," Yui promised Ronan. "We'll see each each other again one day." Her entire body hurt as he released her, allowing Ren to take one hand and Luna the other. "You're not coming?" Yui's lower lip trembled, surprise and fear in her voice. She had at least been hoping that her best friends would be going with her, but it seemed that their time on earth wasn't over yet. "Ren... Luna...." the cracks grew deeper, Luna wouldn't even look at her. "I love yo-" her body broke, becoming solid diamond glass.

Yui was gone.

And the world wept.

A public funeral was held, but the casket was merely ceremonial, there was no child to bury. Ally kept the pieces, frantically trying to put them back together in secret, hoping it would work. She and Leo built a containment chamber, one similar to Ira Shoku's tank, hoping that one day, those pieces would reconnect. Only Leo attended the funeral, Ally too wrought with grief to go. Ronan sobbed the entire time, from the moment he arrived, staying until well after, when the chapel had turned its lights off and the janitor had gone home. He slept beside the grave the first few nights, not wanting to believe it to be true. She was gone, she was gone, his little sister, his last remaining family; gone. Dead.

A statue was erected in honor of Yui and Resplendia, carved of what appeared to be diamond glass, standing proudly in the city square. People left offerings, notes and flowers, teddy bears, even crepes in honor of a child who had never gotten to be a kid. The world was rebuilding, slowly, but surely. Humanity would recover, they would flourish. With no need for light or darkness, their light bearing marks faded, grey, and inactive. Even Ren, could no longer make any semblance of an illusion. The children were not being held guilty for their crimes, instead, many were sent to mental health facilities to ensure that they were fit to return to society and received proper grief counseling for being forced to commit those sins. Yes, the world rebuilt, time moved on, slowly, but surely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Yui awoke, several figures stood over xim, xis body feeling strange. "Welcome home," Cirque smiled, reaching out to embrace the now full fledged star. Yui looked up, the others screaming their congratulations, reaching out, touching their youngest family member and pulling xim this way and that. "I'm home," Yui smiled softly, a warm embracing wrapping around xis body. "Yui, as your reward, I'm going to give you this." A yellow haired star stepped forward, Zara, or at least, pieces of Zara that Cirque had scavenged through the cosmos and mixed with a sprinkle of something else. Mizuki was here too, arms crossed, hip cocked with a sassy grin. "What is it?" Yui asked eagerly, eyes wide. Xe opened it swiftly, tearing off the ribbon and ripping into the package. There was a red shard within. "Love," Cirque took the shard and pressed it against Yui's forehead.
And xis entire world opened up. It flooded xis body, the sensation of love, filling every crack and pore. Xe gasped, arms wheeling, nearly falling over. They held a party that evening, celebrating the successful mission, the return of their youngest sibling, as well as mourning K and Replendia. Yui smiled, going to be early, claiming to be a bit tired. Xe cried xis self to sleep, the pattern continuing for the next few days until xe felt dried of tears and slightly numb. Still, love was new and it seemed the others were eager to test it out. In the Star Realm, there seemed to be a new party every night, full of drinks that made Yui's mind numb and quieted the pain in xis heart.
Every morning, Yui would awaken early to stand out in the field, staring up at the twinkling effervescent sky. At first, Cirque had allowed the others to believe that this was how Yui gleaned insight on earth, but truthfully, Cirque knew what was happening. Xe was staring for a sign of it, a flicker or glimmer of something that resembled xis home. "You miss them, don't you?" Xe asked, startling Yui from xis thoughts. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there," Yui smiled, scratching the back of xis head. Cirque placed a hand on xis shoulder. "I've been watching you come here for a while." A while? Yui swiped at xis eyes quickly, drying xis tears. "How long have you been standing there?" Cirque did not answer, instead, xe smiled. "Come with me," xe led Yui to the infirmary, the young star confused.
"I'm not broken." Xe said as Cirque pat the bed. Yui jumped on, wondering what was happening. "As it turns out, earth still needs you." Xis eyes widened, hope welling up inside of xim. "Your body will be asleep here while you remain there. That way, you have your tether to return once your time is up." Time is up? "Cirque, what do you mean?" Yui asked, biting xis nail nervously. "You have a family up there that needs you Yui and I have a feeling that you, very much, need them to." Excitement welled up inside of xim.
"I'm going back to the surface!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Five long years had passed. Ally was only in the office by chance, doing late night research on a commission she had been drafting for weeks. Having long since given up on the project in the basement, Ally threw herself into growing her company, Leo wanting to make the hospital more successful than ever. Ren had begun to grow, body no longer contained by darkness, he was sprouting into a young man. Ronan, well, Ally didn't hear much from him these days. Admittedly, she was just as bad as keeping in touch.

She tucked a strand of short black hair behind her ears, hardly noticing the soft light pulsating from one of the security cameras. At first, it was just a flicker, catching Ally's attention. She watched, wondering if there was dirt on the screen. Her eyes widened when she realized what room that was coming from. In her haste, Ally dialed just about everyone, rushing down to the sub levels of the Vortech building, where the containment chamber was. The heiress rushed inside, her eyes widening at the sight. "Yui," the holo phone fell from her hands mid conversation with Leo. Ally rushed to the tank, placing her hands against the glass walls. The diamond glass began to harden, taking a form, a body now floating within.

She looked the same as the day she had left, her lotus blossom pulsating gently in the low light. "You're back, you're back!" Ally cried, tears welling up in her eyes as she sank to her knees, her heart feeling as though it would burst with joy.

"Shizo, you gotta get away, my son! The Imagawa Clan must live on through you!" Shizo grabbed his gun and nodded, looking away from his father. The base was being raided, Enforcers from all sides were breaking in. He shot at one enforcer and kicked down the door. Three years ago the Imagawa have begun their rise to crime, distributing drugs to the young, kidnapping pretty women to be sold, they were causing a ruckus. With light bearers no longer existing, this was their chance to spur into action! So the President of the Enforcers was put in charge of tracking them and taking them out. Natsuo Matsuri was almost as good as his father was at waging war, but still, the Imagawa family held on. It has been a long three years but it seemed this would be the final fight. If Shizo could escape with his life, he'd be able to set off the bomb to destroy New Tokyo once and for all.

"So is this your last stand?" A gunblade rose, a steely glint from it's owners eyes. Noise Matsuri was here, the Captain of the Enforcers who was second in the hierarchy only to Natsuo himself. "Of course." Saitou Imagawa held his own gun, ready to fight. "So you've beaten up most of my men, and arrested them. But don't think I'm going down without a fight." In his penthouse home, the lord of the Imagawa Family would fight and die if it meant his son could finish their legacy once and for all. "Heh. It's been a fun chase, Imagawa. But today, you're going down." Two guns fired simultaneously, but only Lord Imagawa fell to his knees as the plasma shot went through his leg, a searing wound. "Tell that husband of yours... to stop putting his wife on the front lines." Noise snickered, cuffing him for imprisonment. "Natsuo is the brains of the Enforcers, but I'm the fist to punch out the criminals of Japan."

But Shizo had escaped. With the bomb codes ready he flew off with his jetpack, fleeing the high rise penthouse building that he and the Imagawa family had once considered a headquarters. Now the spirit of his family flowed through him, he was their last hope to win and maintain their position of power. If they could destabilize the government, then they would win. A helicopter gave chase but the jetpack was faster, there was no way anyone would be able to stop him. "I'll inherit your will, father." He whispered, gun to his chest. "I'll make you proud." High above New Tokyo, he would get in range of the bomb and blow the whole place to smithereens.

And then he heard it. The sound of jet boots, one of the newest technologies from VorTech given to the Enforcers, only a very small few were able to use the equipment without dying. You needed a lot of aerodynamic skill, but if you could master it you'd be faster than even jetpacks mounted on the back, with more flexibility and agility of movement. "Take him out, for the Empress!" The President yelled, Shizo could recognize Natsuo Matsuri's voice anywhere. A tiny thing jumped out, jet boots flaring up to boost her up, two small guns shooting a stream of plasma pellets at Shizo. He twisted and swerved to dodge them, aiming his own gun to fire a plasma lob. The tiny enforcer was faster though, able to fly to evade the lob and get closer, pink hair visible flowing from the back of her helmet.

"I'm in range!" Shizo yelled, pointing to the bomb receiver. "Give up or I'll blow up all of New Tokyo! Get away!" But the pink enforcer didn't seem to buy the bluff. "If you were really in range, you'd have done it already." She zoomed closer, pocketing her guns. A strange weapon flung from her wrist, still holding the end of the chain. A dagger flew out and latched against Shizo's shin, digging in. She dragged, pulling herself closer, swinging herself up to lock his head with her legs, pinning him to her. "Let me go! Or - or I'll kill us both!" The pink enforcer smirked and whispered. "Please do, won't that be fun?" She undid the jetpack and now they were both in a freefall to the death, the helicopter flying ever closer.

"Luna! Take him in already, stop playing around!" Natsuo barked through the speaker of his helicopter. Luna shrugged as if bored by the high speed falling despite this meaning certain death. Shizo himself was screaming, he didn't want to die, he didn't want to splat against the ground! You see, the Enforcers had three key members to their organization. Natsuo Matsuri, the genius president able to out-chess any crime lord trying to win. Noise Matsuri, the fist, taking point on many of their raids and operations. And last but not least, Luna Hikari, the queen of the skies who can chase down anyone and catch them in the end. So Luna punched him in the back of the head then turned her jet boots back on to send Shizo to the helicopter for capture.

Once it was all over and the press finished praising them for taking down the Imagawa family, Natsuo took Luna's shoulder. She hadn't grown at all for some reason, still looking mostly like she did that awful day five years ago. Of course she had grown her hair out, it was now almost down to her feet despite Natsuo telling her that it'd make it easier for criminals to grab it. She was maybe a tiny bit taller, now finally four foot ten. "Go back to the Palace, why are you even here? Didn't you hear the news?" Luna gave him an odd look and turned away. Her eyes had lost their light ages ago. Mizuki knew what it was of course, it was the same thing that happened to her. For most people the pain passed after a while, but Luna was just like her in the worst of ways. Her mental time froze so for Luna it still felt like yesterday.

"It's shock." Mizuki explained one day two years ago when Luna was still the exact same, not crying, not really saying much of anything. "Shock, PTSD, and depression. Now she'll see the world grey and empty the way I used to." The First Lady was very intimate with that feeling, even if it was a very long time since she'd ever had to worry about it. "What do we do? She can't just spend every day doing nothing." Ronan asked, even he had managed to recover. Sure, it still hurt, but he knew Yui would be disappointed if he spent every day crying. Luna just stared at walls all day and closed her heart off so no one could get in.

"I've got an idea. At least to keep her busy so she doesn't get fat on you, Ro." Mizuki cracked a sassy smirk. "Let's make her an Enforcer and train her under Natsuo and Noise!"

Even five years after, even at the news that Ally had finally managed to bring her back Luna did not budge, her empty eyes showed nothing. "I'm tired, so I'm going to go home now." She said, yawning, stretching her arms above her head. The Imagawa family was one of the more powerful criminal groups - with them defeated the days to come were going to be even more boring, weren't they? Oh well, Luna could just look at walls again. "Aren't you going to go see her?" Natsuo was incredulous. If anything could defrost her heart, it was Yui, wasn't it? "I'm gonna go sleep." Sometimes you could almost see the faint outline of a single wing out of her back, but for the most part both Luna and Ren lost their wings the moment Yui left them.

Goddess Yui probably had only one last mission, which was why Cirque allowed xim back to the surface. It was to fix Luna's broken heart which had been frozen in time, no longer able to feel anything.

"Why did you lie to Xer? Earth is no longer a concern." Zara asked, rather perplexed by Cirque's actions. "Because," Cirque replied with a sparkling smile, "There are some things out there that are bigger than even us."

It was late at night when Ally opened the tank, but she didn't care. No one seemed to as they gathered around, Leo prying the lid open. He couldn't believe it had worked! He had humored Ally when they built this together, knowing that there was no way to bring her back, but it seemed that time and again, Yui continued to prove him wrong. He pried off the lid, sliding it open and reaching inside. Ally helped him, the two of them eagerly hoisting a very slimy Yui out. Her skin glimmered, ena shining in the low light. Her caramel colored hair was slick with the goop and Leo rushed to disconnect Yui from the various tubes that had been attached to her crystal body. There were no cracks or gaps, only smooth, baby white skin. Yui coughed as Leo pulled the tube out from her throat, heaving over the side of the table she had been laid on. They surrounded her, waiting eagerly as her eyelids fluttered, baby blues peering up at their mixed faces.

"Yui," Ren whispered, Ronan standing stock still. Ally's eyes welled up with tears and Leo seemed more confused than ever. "I'm sorry... who are you all?" She inquired, throat sore from having that dang thing in her mouth. Their faces fell one by one. "Kidding! I'm just kidding!" She was attacked instantly, smothered in hugs, berated for her cruel joke, Ronan plucking her out of the group and clutching her so tightly she feared she might crack. "Why were you gone for so long? Why did you come back? How are you back?" She was peppered with questions as Ally draped a warm blanket around her shoulders. "You all got so big," Yui looked down at her hands, peering her small feet. "I'm still small," even Ren had grown, albeit slowly. "Answer the questions!" Leo urged, turning on his holo phone to record the conversation in case Yui delved into any sort of science.

"Well... my job wasn't done," she replied simply. "There are still people that need saving." Ren frowned, "but you're not a G-dess anymore." He pointed out, "your ear feathers are back and your hair is a different color." Yui nodded, "Cirque told me that if I came back, it wouldn't be as a star. I don't have any powers either," her body was powered by light, however, since Loretta's real body was riddled with a debilitating disease that would have killed her when she was born. She could faintly sense their blood, but that was the extent of it. "I left that body behind, back in the star realm and it's up to me when I want to go this time." Ronan clutched her tightly once more, not believing this news. "So you aren't leaving again?" Yui shook her head.

"I finally get to be normal." Ren broke down into tears, Ally clutching her hand as she sobbed while Ronan held her protectively. "Where are the others? Where's Lulu?" Yui inquired, looking around for her. There was silence, the others looked at Ronan to explain it. "She hasn't been the same since you left," he replied quietly. "Take me to her," Yui replied. "She probably doesn't want to believe it." Ally shook her head this time, pulling Yui from Ronan's grasp. "No, you need food and rest, you can go in the morning." Already Ally was taking over as an older sister. "I'm coming with you," Ren rose, he had been officially adopted by Ally and Leo after their marriage, but had been living in a college dorm.

Yui's old room had been left untouched, Ally too overcome by grief to do much more than pass the vibrant blue door everyday. "It might be a little dusty," she apologized, the light activating as soon as they stepped inside. Technology was already much more advanced, holo phones were different, cars hovered, the house could be set into several different modes including waking and sleeping. Yui was confused, impressed, and utterly lost. The one thing that caught her eye, however, was the statue made of glimmering diamond glass they passed on the drive home. Ally's apartment in Azabu still stood, a bit renovated to keep up to date, but as beautiful as ever. "It's exactly the same," Yui smiled, turning a circle around the space. Ren watched her, as though afraid she would shatter any second and return to the star realm. He slept on the floor by her bed that night and once satisfied that it wasn't a dream, went off to class.

After breakfast, Ally drove Yui to Ronan's house, where Luna was still sleeping. Ronan greeted them, surprise and recognition in his eyes. He too, must have believed it to be a dream. "This way," he led Yui inside to the bedroom, where Luna was still asleep. Yui sat down next to the bed, waiting patiently for Lulu to awaken.

"Morning Luna," Yui smiled as soon as those familiar blue eyes opened.

Lulu opened her eyes, feeling sick to her stomach. She heard something impossible and so she decided to ignore it and pretend it didn't exist. "I'm on duty again today." Luna got herself dressed, somehow not noticing the impossible thing in her room. The world had no color, but that was okay. Hopefully another strong enemy would show up for her to defeat again. The bigger the terrorism, the better because that meant things would get exciting. "Too bad the Imagawas are gone. I hoped they'd have killed a few more before we finished them." She sighed, rubbing tiredly at her eyes as she limped to the bathroom. She had a permanent limp now due to an injury from training with the jet boots, not used to the force of it's propulsion yet.

After brushing her teeth and moisturizing her face she went out to get breakfast, eating a simple thing. Ronan was there too, it was just the two of them. "Why are you wearing your riot gear again? I don't think you have to go to work today, Luna." Ronan was finishing his masters, studying hard to be an nuclear fission engineer. "Um, Luna? You there?" Luna gave him a stink eye. "Can we have do it again tonight?" By it she was referring to intimate adult activities. It helped her feel something other than just empty boredom, just like fighting did. "Um... we shouldn't talk about that sort of thing with her here." Ronan scratched his head awkwardly. "Luna, you do see her, right? It's Yui, Yui's here."

Luna frowned. "That's a bad joke. She's already gone." Some jokes were just in bad taste and that was one of them. "Ugh, this is annoying." Ronan decided to pick her up and then throw her at Yui. Luna rubbed at her head, feeling sick at suddenly being thrown. "I have work today! What are you doing?" Ronan shook his head, glaring at her. "I already called and Natsuo's giving you the day off! Now notice her already!" Luna poked Yui in the face. "Why did Ally make a Yui robot anyways? This is just a cruel joke so I'm going to leave." She grabbed her jet boots and was about to fly off when she tripped over Ronan's leg, who locked the door on her.

While Yui waited, she spoke to Ronan, who moved about the room, trying not to wake Luna up. "You've changed," Yui said softly, she could sense his euphoria, Ronan disbelieving, wanting to believe, but afraid. "A lot has changed, it's been five years Yui," Ronan said, patting her head. "That long, huh?" Yui looked down at her lap. "But you're the same," he smiled softly, "and that makes me happy." Yui shook her head, no, she was different too. Not physically, but she had learned a lot during her time on the star layer. "Oh yeah? What's changed?" He wanted to know as he pulled a shirt on over his head. "I can... I'm whole now," Yui looked down at her hands. "I can feel love," Ronan froze, shirt forgotten. He knelt in front of Yui, examining her, looking for any difference.

There, in her eyes, it wasn't big, but just a slight glimmer. "You really have changed," he smiled and Yui wasn't sure if it was relief that she wasn't some illusion he could reach through or something else. "Not a lot, I'm still Yui." He nodded, "Yeah, still Yui." He agreed, grabbing a pair of pants to pull on over his underwear. "What do you do now? Do you work?" Ronan nodded, "I'm in college. I'm gonna be an engineer, like Damian and Ally. Except, a little bit different." It was too complex to explain to his simple minded sister. "Do you still do art?" Yui asked to which Ronan nodded. For some reason, it was comforting that there was still a bit of familiarity. It was almost like the two siblings were strangers again. Ronan was taller, his body leaner. His hair was the longest it had ever been, a little bit shaggy, and he had stubble on his chin.

"Have you told Ren yet? About love?" Yui shook her head in response. "No, I'm afraid to. I'm afraid he'll hate me." Ronan laughed, then winced, the sound loud in the quiet bedroom. "I think you're the one person Ren doesn't fervently hate." Ren had changed a lot, he had become closed off and quiet, preferring to be with books than with people. He was smart, so it was easy for him to finish high school and start college. He was going to a fancy private university that Ally and Leo were all too happy to foot the bill for. It was then that Luna began to stir, awakening from her slumber slowly, but surely. Yui smiled, wanting it to be the first thing Luna saw, but she was rejected, Luna ignoring her as she went about the motions of the morning.

Yui followed Luna in the next room, trying to strike up a conversation with her, but Luna continued to act as though Yui weren't there. Yui's heart constrained painfully, this was part of love too, she had learned. Luna requested something of Ronan, to which he blushed and scratched his head, mentioning that she shouldn't speak like that with Yui around. Ronan tried to vouch for her, but Luna still continued to act as though she wasn't there. Finally, Luna rose, attempting to leave, but Ronan blocked her, causing her to trip and land right in front of Yui, but Luna didn't believe it was her, she claimed it was cruel to build a robot in her likeness. "Luna, I'm not a robot." Yui went to help Luna up, who had tripped over Ronan's leg again.

"I came back Lulu," Yui smiled again, hoping to prove that she was real. "Here, I'll prove it to you." Yui flung her dress off, Ronan averting his eyes so as not to look at his naked little sister. "See? I'm a human!" Her lotus blossom shone, her ena shimmering in the light, giving her an ethereal appearance.

Luna glared hard at this entire stupid situation. The Yui robot was trying very hard to prove that she was real. "And you, why did you fall for this? Whatever game Ally's planning I don't want to play." Her eyes narrowed as she looked at Ronan. It had been five years, why was he so desperate that he'd believe a dumb trick like this? None of this made any sense and Luna rolled hr eyes at the scene before her. "Well, if this is my day off I'm going back to my room." She huffed and stormed off to lock herself in her room. None of this made any sense. She refused to believe it. Yui was probably just going to leave again anyways, even if this was her. It had been five years! The real one wouldn't have waited this long to come back.

Ronan sighed, looking tired as he looked up from his study book. "Sorry, Yui." He said, waiting for her to get clothed again before giving her a big hug, back to her look as Loretta rather than the Goddess. "She's been like this for a long time now, ever since you left the first time." Even more than Ronan, than Ren, it affected Luna the worst of them all. She was even acting up in the days leading up to the tragedy, as if a part of her instinctively knew that this was going to happen. "Remember what Mizu was like in the beginning? How she was mean and couldn't feel anything? Luna's kind of like that now." Seeking thrills to distract herself from the endless boredom that being alive was, yet not willing to kill herself to end it.

Despite Luna locking herself in, Ronan knew that wasn't going to protect her from the truth. "Luckily I have a key. We'll corner her in her room!" He hugged Yui once again, hardly believing it himself. His baby sister had finally come back, it was the miracle he had wished for for so long now, so much that at some point he forgot to keep wishing for it and his heart had settled it as a past pain to no longer worry about. "Hey, since you were there, would you know what happened to Jenny? To Minako?" Lost friends long gone. "I know they've been reincarnated now... but it'd be nice to know that they're doing well."

Yui's smile began to falter, even though she proved it, Luna still didn't believe her. "Luna, it's me," Yui said softly, Luna remaining unconvinced. Instead of embracing her and the two of them crying the way Yui had expected, Luna instead stormed off, slamming and locking the door behind her. Yui's shoulders slumped, but she wasn't going to give up. She would help try and bring Luna back, to allow her friend to see the color in the world once again, even if it took her entire time on earth! "It's because I took too long, isn't it?" She asked quietly. Yui hadn't ever thought she was going to return to earth, she had believe she was going to have to watch everyone else from the star realm, seeing as they grew older and had babies and became distant to one another as their lives took a shape of their own.

For five years, she had longed to be here, for five years, she had cried almost every day, wanting to be back, to be able to hug her friends, to eat Damian's food, to let Ally dress her up, to play with Luna, and joke with Ren. They were all grown up now though, Luna had a job, she was important, she probably didn't have time to play anymore, or maybe she would never accept that Yui was back and would continue to treat her like a robot. Yui didn't know; she pulled her dress on over her head as Ronan buried his nose in a textbook in order to give her a little bit of privacy. "That's awful," Yui whispered, easily able to recollect how Mizuki used to be. Broken, but whole, held together by fragments as though she were made of glass.

Luna was the same way, barely holding herself together because she didn't want to be hurt again. Yui swiped the start of tears fro her eyes, she couldn't cry after all, she needed to complete her mission for today and make Luna happy! Ronan hugged her once more, holding up the key to the master bedroom. It seemed as though this wasn't the first time that Luna had done this, which meant that Ronan had come prepared. He had been expecting the resistance, he was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but instead, found that Luna was acting exactly the way he had predicted. After all, she was just protecting herself from being hurt again.

Ronan wanted to know about Jenny and Minako, what had happened to them? Yui smiled, rocking back and forth on her heels as Ronan unlocked the door. "They chose to be reincarnated," she replied, not able to tell him much more. Not even Yui knew what body they would inherit.

Luna had already escaped through the window, because she knew Ronan had the key. What she didn't expect was for someone to grab her and push her to the grassy lawn below. "Hey! Let me go! Jerk!" She kicked, almost kicking off Mizuki's nose as she held her down. "Wait, why are you here?" Mizu grinned, pushing her back into the room. "Ren told me he had a feeling someone had to stop you." Ren had exams to study for but after that he'd be free. Luna glowered as she watched the First Lady surround the house with Enforcers. Luna wasn't going to be able to escape, it wasn't as if she had powers anymore.

The door creaked open and so she sprinted right at them, trying to sneak through Ronan's legs to get to freedom that way. Ronan was able to hold onto her ankle and then he picked her up with a hug. "If she's just a robot, why are you trying so hard to run away?" He asked, key in hand as he placed her on the table. "You know the truth, don't you?" She refused to look at it, her heart too empty to ever let something in again. "No! I'm leaving!" She tried to fight but Ronan's grip was too tight. He sighed, looking at Yui again. "Y'know, she hasn't had a tantrum in a long time." He told clearly Fake-Yui with a shrug. "I guess you being back's having an influence on her already."

"No! I'm a cool and calm Enforcer!" Tantrums? No, that was for children! She didn't have those anymore!

Yui waited patiently as Ronan opened the door, the room empty, the window open. "I knew she was mad, but I didn't think it was this bad." He scratched the back of his neck as Yui poked her head into the room to see if Luna was hiding, but no, she was gone. The front door burst open, Luna being thrown inside by Mizuki. "Mizu!" Yui ran over to hug her, she hadn't seen the First Lady and Empress yet, who hadn't been able to come the night prior due to having other arrangements in the bedroom. Yui watched as Ronan lifted Luna up and placed her on the table, saying that she hadn't acted out in a long time. Yui smiled, glad that she was able to make Luna feel something, even if it was anger. "It's okay," Yui smiled "I have that effect on people. Or so I'm told," she strode over to face Luna, hoping that Lulu would at least look at her.

Luna, I've been waiting a long time for this day, when I would get to see you again. Please, look at me. At least acknowledge that I'm here."

"Welcome back, Yui." Mizu ruffled her hair. "Haru would be here but she's busy planning a surprise party for -.... for no one, just for a squirrel." Mizu laughed smugly, having done that on purpose, and closed the door to give them their privacy. Yui was imploring, she wanted attention, she wanted to be acknowledged. "Why weren't we allowed to come too?" Luna asked suddenly, still looking away. Ronan was quiet, he wasn't going to interrupt now that she had finally seemed to give up on her escape plan. "Why did this world still need us here? Why are you even here?"

Luna pressed a hand to her chest, it beat but even now it wasn't going as fast as they expected it would. "We should have let K win." She had thought this for quite some time now. "Then at least I wouldn't be empty." Then Yui wouldn't have lost five years, then the family would still be closely knit. Everything had gone wrong when Yui vanished, why was that the will of the Stars?

Yui beamed up at Mizuki, who seemed to leave just as swiftly as she had come. Or perhaps she was simply guarding the door? Yui turned to Luna, hoping that she would look at her. Instead, Luna asked a question, wanting to know why she and Ren had been left behind, why they hadn't been allowed to come too. "It was a glitch," Yui replied, having asked Cirque the very same inquiry so many times that she had the answer memorized by heart. "Because you and Ren were artificially made, you weren't supposed to be the angels. Cirque tried to bring you here at the same time, but was met with resistence from the universe."

Luna's answer didn't surprise Yui, in fact, she had expected Luna to say that sooner. "You aren't empty," Yui tried to take Luna's hands. "You just don't want to believe, you don't want to hurt again, so you closed your heart away, but it isn't too late. You can still open it back up," would Luna glance her way? Would she acknowledge her presence or continue to act as though Yui was a figment of everyone's imagination come to haunt them? "I came back because you still needed me. I missed everyone, I didn't want to be in the star realm and I think Cirque finally realized that." She didn't want to be in a place where her family wasn't. "I watched you everyday, I saw you cry, I cried with you, but you couldn't see or hear me. I wanted to hug you and hold your hand, but I couldn't."

The pinkette stared at the ground, at her hands, anywhere to evade those piercing blue eyes that bore into her soul, threatening to break the shell that had kept her safe from the hurt all this time. She didn't do it on purpose, but her heart had frozen over to protect her. Losing Mina nearly broke her, what would losing Yui do? How hard would she have self destructed? She was still Aria's daughter after all. But after breaking into pieces, would she have been put back together again too? She did not resist her hands being taken. "But we were given those wings, we should've been allowed to go too." It wasn't fair that Yui had to be all alone.

"You claim to be the Star of Happiness, but then why after you won, was it nothing but empty and pain?" The Star of Happiness's job was to give happiness to the world and let everyone have smiles, right? She was supposed to show the beauty of humanity, and show that even a greedy horrible people like them could be happy and content. "If you're really back, then prove it." She pressed Yui's hand to her chest, then lower, under the pants of her uniform. Until Ronan smacked her. "What the heck, don't do dirty things with my sister!" He barked suddenly. Luna looked numbly at him, still too pained to look Yui in the eye. "But aren't these physical sensations proof of love?" Would she do it, would she prove that she came back for her? Luna pinned Yui down, planting a despairing kiss on her lips, having had much practice over the years thanks to Ronan.

"It wasn't my choice," Yui was glad that Luna didn't pull away or resist her hand holding. "If it had been, I would have stayed, I wouldn't have gone," but Yui couldn't continue to allow the world to go the way it had been. She had seen the blood and gore, she had watched as all of Australia commited mass suicide, as Damian killed children, as her family became monsters for the will of the supposed Star of Freedom. Yui's heart still ached, thinking of all of those souls she could have saved if only she had been a few minutes faster. If only, if only, Yui could ask herself a million times and she was certain it would never change anything.

"I didn't want to," Yui placed her hand over Luna's heart. "I tried to send you happiness, but you always rejected it." Eventually, she had managed to get through to the others, but Luna had never wanted it. "What do I need to do to prove it?" Yui asked quietly, wanting Luna to be happy again, to be able to smile and sing and restore the color in her eyes that she had lost. The world was not black and white, it was full of beautiful hues and shades, if only one had the ability to see it. Luna grasped Yui's hand tightly, pressing it to her chest. Yui could feel her heart beating slowly, unmoved by what Yui had said, it seemed. She went lower, into her pant's line. Both Yui and Ronan's eyes widened, Ronan attempting to stop it.

"No," Yui replied, "If this is what Luna needs me to do then I will," she would be brave, even as Luna pinned her down and kissed her, Yui doing her best to keep up and kiss back.

Luna kissed Yui, right on the lips, tongue going in, invading Yui's own. She was rough, she was forceful, she was dominant as she took control. Ronan was frozen in shock as he saw it happening, but Yui told him no and that was the only reason why he wasn't intervening. He had to have faith that Yui knew what she was doing. "Why are you letting me do this?" Luna pulled away, a trail of saliva connecting the girls together. "Why aren't you stopping me?" Suddenly her eyes began to water as she clung harder to Yui, not sensual this time, but she didn't know why she did. "Why does it hurt so much?"

It was almost as if she were able to see color again, her heart was slowly defrosting. It hurt, five years of pain all coming back to her, echoing and resounding and it was agony. Yet still Luna had no idea what else to do, what else to say. It was going to take her a while to be able to fully fix her heart and bring herself back to the world of light. As Luna wept and clung desperately to Yui, sobbing as if she were but a child once more, a part of her felt comforted. No matter how long it took to teach her to see the light again, Yui would be here. This was their happy ending, even if it hurt, even if it was torture, the sun was shining and Yui was here to stay until it was time for them all to go together to the forever after they longed for.

Re: Start

That word is hopefully correct. I mean I just made a new post so I hope so.

Re: Start

Word on the street is that we're alive again.

Re: Start

No, there will be no posting order.

I went in and did it for you, before you post, just copy and paste the code into the reply box.

Re: Start

Hey, I was just wondering if I forgot to do something in my post since mine lacks the whole character card portion at the top of it. And sorry if its something basic that I simply forgot to do since I rushed it a bit to get it done.

Re: Start

Hey, will there be a posting order?

Re: Start

Image

We will be starting tonight, but before you post, here are a few things you should know.

β˜› You have been in this world for give or take a month. While it may seem as though everyone died on the same night, in truth, everyone died around the same time. You could have been there a week longer, or maybe a few days less.

β˜› You do have memories of your last life, unless you've explained that your price is the loss of memories. You have the same soul, but a different body.

β˜› On the night of the full moon, your first faerie revel will take place. This will be the night the RP will start at. It is during this revel that you will discover the truth about your existence, that you've been chosen for a great journey to defeat Sorrow.

β˜› What is Sorrow? Sorrow is the personification of the grief, sadness, and loneliness of the world. Should you be succumb to these feelings and be swallowed by Sorrow, you too will become a dark puppet for Sorrow to manipulate. There are ways to combat this and return to normal, these will be discovered during the RP.

β˜› Have fun~

Re: Start

Hey Queen, you can go ahead and continue without me, you don't have to wait ok? You know the situation, so I probably wont be a major poster, I made Nyx and 'outsider' type because of that so there's no need to wait - I can easily just read over everything and catch up. :)

Re: Start

As of right now, we're awaiting on two people to finish their characters before we can begin. Squarenuggets is nearly half way done and Skykoko (Xue) who is hopefully beginning to finish up their bio. Thank you for your patience everyone, we'll be starting soon.

Re: Start

Yes Squarenuggets, there is one position open and it is that of the Changeling. You have forty eight hours to submit a work in progress in the CS which is posted somewhere in the OOC and five days to complete it. Please make a proper reservation if you wish to pursue the position.

Re: Start

Hey this looks extremely interesting and I was just wondering if anything else was still available.

Re: Start

Same here. He's done.

Re: Start

I have completed as well!

Re: Start

I've finished.

Re: Start

Allright I'll go for it. The WIP will be in tomorrow, but since it's Easter Sunday I probably won't be able to do a whole lot.

Re: Start

That would be a very interesting sort of haunting, I think you should go for it. Remember that once Sorrow is defeated the ghost will go away.

Re: Start

I was sort of thinking maybe he felt like he caused the death of a loved one, and constantly a ghost, or a voice would speak to him about how their death was his fault.

Re: Start

β˜› TrivuLED || You have one major ability and one minor ability, shapeshifting will have to be one of them.

β˜› Phantom's sword || I suggest you choose one emotion to discard, otherwise we'll end up with quite the dull Valkyrie

β˜› Afreerobin || What sort of haunting? Would he be haunted by something he did in his past? Haunted by Sorrow?

β˜› Victorant || A position may open, I'll be in touch if it does.

β˜› Mazamazari || The Destiny Price is yours.

Re: Start

Agh I'll take the Destiny Price :o

Re: Start

It seems like everyone is having quite some difficulty with finding a price so let me give you a few ideas:

β˜› Memory || Every time you cast a spell or use crucial magic, you lose one memory of your past.

β˜› Feeling || The lose of an emotion like sadness or no longer being able to feel happiness. You could also lose the sensation of pain and while this may sound beneficial, it is actually quite a dangerous condition.

β˜› Destiny || Every time you have a brush with death you lose a year of your life.

All of these conditions will be reversible once Sorrow has been defeated.
