"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare anyone." Yui said between bites, feeling particularly ravenous. "I don't even remember much of what happened when I fell asleep, it just felt like I was falling and then I was on a beach!" Yui chugged a cup of water, feeling as though there was bread stuck in her throat from her sandwich. What happened? Yui thought back to the battle and summed it up quickly. "Loretta wanted something, but I don't know what. She said she wanted to protect me, but I don't think that's what she really wanted because she's dead and well... she's me." How was Loretta supposed to protect them if she no longer existed? perhaps she was simply a piece of Yui that desired protection and a family that didn't want to use her for her ability? They promised that they wouldn't, although perhaps a part of Yui didn't believe it? "I told her to leave me alone, because it's my body." That had made Loretta part ways for the time being.
Their angel? Yui liked the sound of that! "I'll be the Freedom Fighters angel!" Yui nodded in agreement. Damian stepped forward to ruffle both girl's hair. "An angel and a sinner, I wonder what kind of idol pair you would make?" Damian snickered, setting down a plate of curry chicken in front of Aria so that the other girl could eat lunch. Upon hearing Ally stir in the other room, Yui rose, taking Aria's hand and walking alongside her to the room where Ally was being tested by Leo to make sure that she was okay. Physically, her functions were perfect, mentally, however, it was clear that Ally was suffering. As soon as the two girls stepped into the doorway, tears sprung to their friend's eyes and Yui felt another set of arms wrap around her, another warm embrace. The little fish closed her eyes, leaning into it.
Ally confirmed that she was alright, then asked a confusing question. "I... died?" The child's voice was barely above a whisper as she digested this information. "Shoku can do things that many of us don't understand. Or maybe there's an incubation period?" Leo said quietly. "How long between death and being revived? Maybe the Light Seed was preparing to transfer when Yui was revived?" The Resident was attempting to run through scenarios, muttering to himself as he did so. What they all did not realize was that Yui's body was one that was composed entirely of light. To lose the Light Seed would mean to cease existing as a whole. She would be erased from the face of the earth and reborn in again in another form, perhaps in this universe, or simply spend eternity floating in the void between realms.
"Ally, Xavier came up with a contest to help make us stronger!" Yui squeaked, suddenly recalling the competition that they would be starting tomorrow now that the dream weaver was awake. "We're not allowed to use our light bearing abilities, but we can do anything else to fight!" Yui rocked back and forth on her heels, looking between Aria and Ally. "Us girls should train together! We'll take them on, girl's against boys!" Yui pumped a fist into the air, clearly excited for these play fights in order to prove herself. She would not be useless, Yui would fight alongside the freedom fighters to the best of her ability.
