They traveled down the wall, entering a shadow and emerging on the other side. Just as Clover's ears had detected, it was a young boy at the foot of the Wall of Glory. His legs shook, his hands sweaty with fear. Clover became momentarily distracted by a mouse that skid between them, the kitten chasing after it for but a moment before she remembered what she was supposed to be doing and turned to return to her Master. There seemed to be quite the dilemma going on, but Clover couldn't tell what the problem was. Who should be punished? She wondered, tapping her finger against her chin, her tail swishing back and forth as she thought about it. "Humans," Clover replied, wondering if she needed to be more specific.
"Bad men... but also... money men." Both parties were guilty here, according to Clover. Then again, it wan't certain whether or not Clover actually had a grasp on the situation, or if she was simply repeating what she believed they wanted to hear. "Human is... friend?" The boy, once shaking with terror, was now staring at Clover with open curiosity. Clover didn't mind, she was used to being admired or her fine silky fur and and soft looking tail. "Can I... touch it?" He asked and Clover blushed, nodding. He reached out to stroke her tail, the kitten wriggling. It seemed to calm the human down considerably, enough to get his side of the story out of him. "I was just coming back from school when they attacked me. My parents couldn't send me to the other side, they put on airs to show off, but really, we're just as poor. The money ran out ages ago," it was no wonder they had run away with their fake charity.
Clover wondered what she should do now. She couldn't very well help serve justice considering she had no idea how to fight. She could protect the kid though. Clover grabbed his arm and covered his eyes, "Don't look," she said, her tail swishing as her Master delivered justice swiftly. Once it was over, Clover released the human, allowing him to see once more. "Is over," she bound over to the men rolling on the ground, nudging one with her foot. "Human is... still living." She walked back over to her Master, wondering what they did now. It seemed that they had a full night of prowling the streets ahead, which Clover was exhausted by the end of.
By the time they returned home, Clover felt as though she couldn't take another step. "Goodnight," Clover managed to get out before stumbling to her room. Clover believed she would all asleep easily, but when her head hit her pillow, she could not find herself going to sleep. Clover lifted up her blanket, wrapping it around her shoulders. Clover tip toed down the hall, quietly entering Erika's room and perching on the end of her bed. She curled up there, with her blanket, falling to sleep much more easily now that she was with someone.
