|| Weight of the World || Nier: Automata ||
Yui's singing really was high and cute, like that of a celestial being from the Heavens above. Which, well, was exactly what was going on actually, that was precisely what Yui was, wasn't it? Ren seemed a bit too embarrassed to try to keep up with Ronan's scales. Luna meanwhile was able to perfectly keep to Ronan's beat, adding a pretty vibrato at the end of each note for fancy flair. "H-hey! Stop showing off!" Ren snapped, shaking his head ruefully. He wanted to be good too, but he was almost scared of singing. Maybe it was because he knew his voice would never really be deep and masculine like he wanted it to, and so Yui and Luna might just end up laughing at him because of it. He was an Angel and just like Yui, just like Luna, he would never grow up.
Maybe it was okay for Luna, who was already able to do things with Ronan that you might consider unthinkable, and Yui, well, she was Yui. It was okay for girls to be small and cute, right? But Ren was different because he wasn't a girl at all! He was a boy and he desperately wanted to be able to become a man instead of always being looked down on by everyone around him. He wasn't as charismatic as Yui was, he wasn't as utterly strong as Luna at maximum power. No, his only real talent he had over them was his intelligence and even then it never seemed to matter much because with adults around like Ally and Raven, there was never any chance for him to show off his knowledge, was there? "Come on, Ren, sing." Xavier and Damian beckoned. He shot them a dirty look and scowled turning away.
Lia sure did look different now. She cut her hair in a short asymmetric look, longer on one side than the other. And her hair was all dyed black, of course. She was also not a perfect clone because she developed her own light bearing mark, able to create barriers that absorb energy and can fire back at enemies. "You look nice in black." Luna said with a bit of a smile, knowing she had to play nice because Lia and Yui were friends. "I heard it in Paradise." Lia said, face neutral but insides chilled at the thought of it. "If you died the world will turn to darkness." She had not seen the Ancient so she did not know, but even so Luna and Ren's fear of the place was enough to infect Lia with the fear of it as well. "I don't want that, and I owe you for saving me, so I can help." Well maybe it'd be good to have someone that was good at remaining calm rather than a family full of panicking weirdoes.
At the news of Damian and Xavier moving out, Ren was perhaps the most distraught of them all. Or at least the most vocally distraught. "No!" He cried. "But Tarik said there would be more Fallen Angels! Yui's still in danger, so why are you leaving?" Luna grit her teeth, shaking her head. "No, it's okay." She said, trying to not lose to her emotions and be sad. "No matter who leaves, as long as Yui has us, she'll be safe. No one else matters, right?" Ally snugggled Yui close. "You don't know how close I am to just making you Yui Medicus!" The dreamweaver squealed at saying it aloud.
