|| Weight of the World || Nier: Automata ||
Luna was only really at her strongest when she had borrowed the light of nearly a hundred humans as well as Ren's. It was only then that she was strong enough to challenge a creature such as a Star, and even so it was Tarik, the Star of Gravity. It was a force she was naturally strong against, so it wasn't a surprise that she had been able to pull out a victory. "It's a bit of a drive, so feel free to rest up if you'd like." Luna was very tired after all the training and then everything else. A bit of shuteye did not sound like a bad idea at all. Ren turned his head to the window, sneaking embarrassed glances at Yui in the reflection as he did so. "Go to sleep, love." Ronan whispered in her ear. If he was more awake, the whisper would only make it harder for her to fall asleep, really.
"Finally, I broke enough of your guard to break through!"
What was going on? Why was she back in Paradise? "Where's Resplendia? What are you doing? Go back to sleep, stop causing trouble!" Why was Tarik messing around again? Was that why she was always so tired lately, why sometimes she just utterly blanked out. "The best part is that you haven't told anyone yet." Tarik smiled, grabbing her by the neck and pinning her down. "Give up control. Now. I'll be borrowing that body for a second." He looked crazed, almost demented. Was that what happened if you stayed in here for that long, listening only to a single lullaby the entire time? "Never! This is my body! This is my life, so get out!" She struggled, trying to fight back but then he pressed his hand against her special spot.
"Even in this fake world, you're sensitive there, aren't you?" Luna whimpered, trying to fight back. Why couldn't she hold her own? Why couldn't she get Ren's darkness to flow towards her? "Stop! Stop! Only Ronan's allowed! Please!" His fingers explored her childish body and she thrashed and kicked, air exploding out but he was too strong and she was just too exhausted. "There's nothing you can do. Give up. Humanity doesn't deserve saving anyways." She wasn't going to let him in! Never! No matter what he did to her here, it wasn't real! Then suddenly the landscape changed, to a strange sort of desert. There was a large iron cross and Luna was suddenly nailed to it. She screamed, toes curling as Tarik mocked her. "This is all so needless. Just give in, I mean no harm towards you."
But still she would continue to resist. Then someone else entered, Ren felt her calls for help from within the back of his mind, his connection to Paradise. "Stop hurting her!" He yelled, jumping on Tarik's back to punch and kick and bite at him. He wasn't a natural fighter but he would fight to protect his friends. "Just go away!" Tarik threw Ren off of him and then lifted him by the neck. Luna was dizzy, the nails in her wrists, in her ankles, she could't move even if she tried. "R-Ren..." She whimpered as Tarik lifted him up. "Admit it. You hate it too, you hate all the love around in this world, and how Yui can never love you."
Tarik's voice went right to Ren's ear no matter how the boy tried to resist. "Give in. Give me your body and I can grant your wish. I can have Yui truly fall in love with you." Ren was weakening, Luna could feel it. "No, Ren! Stop! Please, don't lose! Ren closed his eyes, letting Tarik in... and letting him out of Paradise via Ren's body and Luna could do nothing but cry.
