|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||
In the middle of her dive downwards, something collided with her, causing the child to float upwards. She flapped her wings, attempting to go down, to save Ronan, but someone grabbed her face, holding her up by her face, pinching her cheeks between his cheeks. "Let go!" Yui kicked, the force of gravity holding her in place. "I need to save him! Ronan can't swim!" Yui screamed, her words coming out funny thanks to the pinching. The child kicked her legs in an attempt to hit him, but the gravity around her had become so dense that it was hard to move. Yui couldn't so much as lift a finger and even when she tried to glow, the gravity around her grew denser, making it hard to breathe. Human bodies wer frail things, but Yui's seemed to be especially so.
"Let them go," Yui managed to whisper, "let them go and I'll go with you." But her words went unheard over the chaos. In the end, the person inhabiting Ren's body took them all, leaving Ronan to drown in the ocean. Her vision went dark, Yui felt as though she was choking, the air being pushed out of her lungs by the force of the air around her. Her body went limp, her wings shrinking until they were tiny, just barely fluttering in the wind behind her. Yui was supposed to be strong, she was supposed to defeat the darkness, so why did this keep happening? How was she supposed to defend humanity when she could barely protect herself? Had she not passed out, no doubt she would be kicking herself for being so weak.
When Yui at last awoke, she felt strange. Her body was heavy, weighed down by gravity. She attempted to sit up, but found that the very act was near impossible. She attempted to activate her light bearing gifts, but found that she could not, the room, or perhaps some other element, preventing her from doing so. The bed she had been set on was comfy, but the room was empty. There was a window, albeit small, it let in trace amounts of light, allowing the child to recharge underneath the somewhat warm bask. "Hello?" Yui managed, her voice barely above a whisper. The lights were on, her unmoving form surrounded by what appeared to be a large amount of plush toys.
Ronan was pulled out of the waters by the back of his shirt, the coast guard hauling him on board the ship, performing CPR to clear his lungs of the water he had ingested. Poor Ronan's lips were blue, his airway full of seawater. The ocean was not like the upside down Abyss, here, he sunk like a rock. Ally and Leo were waiting anxiously on the shore, the news helicopter having caught the entire fight live. There was already a riot of humans, a public outcry over the kidnapping of Luna and Yui, but there was nothing that they could do. They wanted light bearers, no, they needed light bearers, but those with light gifts had gone into hiding long ago, afraid of what the normal crowd would do to them.
