|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||
"Aww, our little sister is so cute and small," Yui felt nauseous, it hurt to breathe. She continued to try sitting up, her struggle in vein. "Tarik, lift the gravity a little," someone begged him. The veil seemed to rise, Yui gasping to allow air into her spinning mind. She sat up quickly, dots dancing in her vision. "Welcome back little sister," Tarik knelt down, brushing her hair out of her face. "You-are-not-my-brother," Yui gasped, weakly slapping his hand away. "Oh but I am, as a fellow star, well, ex star, we are all siblings." Tarik smiled, the girl beside him grinning, giving a little wave "This is another of your sisters, Heph," what a strange sounding name. "Hello baby star, I'm so glad I get to finally meet you," Heph shook Yui's hand enthusiastically. "Where's Luna? Where's Ren? And Lia? What did you do with them?" Yui asked seriously.
"Oh you mean the abomination?" Heph grinned, "we disposed of her. She cried a lot, but she didn't belong here. Don't worry, she's resting peacefully now." Yui's eyes widened, she felt sick. "This one," Heph picked up one of the stuffed animals Yui had been leaning on. "This one is her," Yui snatched the doll out of the ex star's hands, hugging it close to her chest. "Don't worry Lia, I'll change you back," Yui promised, her eyes welling up with tears. "I promise, you'll have your body back." Heph laughed, as though the very thought were preposterous. "I can't believe you fell for that!" That was not what Yui was expecting, "Lia is dead of course. Why would I turn her into a stuffed animal?" The toy fell out of Yui's hands, the child's eyes going wide. "Why?" Yui asked, trembling once more.
"Because she was a fake. We couldn't let her continue existing and taking your light." Tarik said as though he had done Yui a great favor. Yui choked back a sob, recalling Lia's words, how happy she was that she had been given a body after all. "Why did you do this? Why did you take me?" Tarik pat her head, Heph wrapping her arms around Yui in a hug. "Humanity does not deserve to be saved. They are a plague, a disease, and need to be wiped from the face of the earth." Heph rocked Yui back and forth, patting her head as she cried. "We will take care of you now, sister, until humanity rots and the world will end." No, Yui didn't want that, she didn't want an age of darkness to fall upon the final layer of the Abyss, earth.
"When Cirque was making you, xe asked each of the stars to give up a piece to put inside of you. Some gave confidence, some gave bravery, or laughter, but we did not want to. The humans had imposed this upon themselves and therefore, we should have let the natural cycle take its place. Instead, Cirque wanted to interfere, saying that it was Resplendia's final work and therefore, should be saved."
"We knew better though, we opposed Cirque and were cast from the Star Layer, just like anyone else you goes against xim."
"The humans are vile creatures, they are a plague, they destroy everything they touch. They nearly killed our dear Resplendia and yet, Cirque still wanted to save them. We could not allow it, but Cirque did not see it our way. Cirque never does, so we left our Heaven to gather evidence, but Cirque did not welcome us back when we returned. We opposed xim, we tried to show xim that the humans were cruel, vicious creatures that needed to be destroyed, but Cirque did not listen and instead, continued to build you." Building a star didn't happen overnight of course, it could take generations until all of the pieces were together.
"We will not allow you to suffer the way Resplendia did, Yui. You will be safe here, while humanity rots and when the time comes, you will go to the star layer and tell Cirque that xe was wrong about humans."
"No!"
"Yes," Heph and Tarik retorted together. "You will have all of the comforts of home here, do not worry, we will take care of you."
"Where are Luna and Ren?"
"The angels do not deserve your kindness, they are abetting Cirque's will, imposing it upon you."
"They're my friends!"
"You do not need friends." Yui shoved Heph off of her, attempting to run to the door. Gravity tightened around her, the child choking as she collapsed, limbs stuck to her sides. "Do not fight it Yui, we are not bad people, but we are not afraid to stop you."
