A farm, a real farm, away from the city and massive amounts of humans who stared at Clover wherever she went. A smile tilted her lips upwards, her tail swishing to and fro at the thought. "Clover likes idea," she said softly, facing Erika so that she could read her lips. "I'll be coming of course," Maple said a bit protectively. "To make sure Erika takes care of you," Clover nodded, feeling bad about the fact that she had become a burden. She had never wanted it to be this way, she had wanted to be a lap cat, living the high life, not weak and in need of assistance to do everyday things. The kitten teared up again, wishing she wasn't so useless, wishing she could somehow help Erika regain her hearing, that she could run in a field full of flowers, or spend hours writing down her alchemy notes so that the knowledge could be passed down to others. Instead, Clover would never be able to do those things on her own again.
The feast Rosemary concocted was delicious, even if Clover could only take a few bites of it before growing tired. Eamon was of course going to design every outfit, from his own tuxedo to Mallier's wedding dress. Erika, Sera, and Julian would be the bridesmaids, Fiyero, Alistair, and Theo would be the groomsmen; Clover and Maple would be flower girls and Rosemary would be ring bearer with Khryia to guide her down the aisle. Right after dinner, Eamon went off to get to work on making clothing that would suit all of them. Fiyero followed him behind, tail wagging gleefully at the fact that his Master would be getting married the next day. Julian went to practice walking in heals, taking Cookie and Theodore with him to be his audience, leaving the girls at the table.
"The CCC sure created a lot of interesting things," Mallier said, picking up a stack of notes and placing them on the table. "They actually made a lot of useful advances," she sorted through, taking out certain pieces that would pertain to them. "Exo skeletons, brain implants, armaments to help with ailments." Rosemary smiled, no doubt understanding where Mallier was going with this. "Are you suggesting we use our enemy's technology to benefit ourselves?" Mallier nodded, "that's exactly what I'm suggesting. It's a curse isn't it? So what if we bypass magical law and use technology?" Mallier had no idea if it would work, she was just making suggestions. "It won't hurt to try," Maple said excitedly, wondering if a brain implant could restore her sense of smell. "It won't fix everything of course, but it's a start."
"Since there's going to be a wedding tomorrow, I think we should all take baths," Rosemary suggested, smiling innocently. Clover and Maple both stiffened, Rosemary turned in the direction she believed to be Erika, "It wouldn't do to have your pet cat smelling up the wedding." The shaking grew worse, Clover knowing that she was helpless to resist.
