Especially given the nightmares. Deep down, had he known the moment he'd stepped off the bus that something was up? That had to be the only explanation for the nightmares that had plagued him. Images of a barren town, of chaos ruling the streets, of them all having to fight for survival. The marked absence of the adults. But, of course, he hadn't said that to anyone else. And he didn't plan on even thinking about it all that much, let alone telling anyone else.
When chaos had started to break out, Ollie hadn't participated. He'd just barricaded himself inside the house and waited for it to pass. It hadn't escaped his notice that his... episodes seemed to have worsened either. More frequent, and more intense. There was hours every day where he felt like he was living in a dream, like nothing around him was real. His meds helped, but not as much as they used to.
He didn't know how he found himself in the courtroom. He didn't know why he was here. The continuous visual disturbances and disassociation had given him a cracking migraine, so he was seated in the darkest corner of the seating (which still wasn't dark enough) and was dependent on the strongest painkillers he'd been able to in find in the house. The prospect of stealing something stronger from a pharmacy had occurred to him, but he refused to be that person.
It seemed that everyone else had a role. But what use was Ollie going to be? As Taylor and Andy brought up the music hall, Ollie just found himself rolling his eyes. Sure, because that was really going to help everyone. Playing the violin hadn't made any of Ollie's other problems go away and he didn't think for a single moment that it would make a difference this time. He avoided Addi's gaze. He knew she knew about his medical issues, but that didn't mean he wanted to acknowledge the issue. He'd need a refill of his meds in a few days, but he really hoped that the issue would be dealt with by that point.
He slumped down in his seat a little more, scanning the room. Of all people he was left with... it had to be these. He was determined to keep up his habit of avoiding certain individuals, which ruled out what felt like half of the remaining group. How the hell were they going to get through this? How the hell was he going to get through this?
