Description

Esclava H. Maegstire

Name: Esclava H. Maegstire

Nickname: Esk, Ehm

Theme Music: nil

Age: 21 years old

Gender: male

Orientation: celibate, but probably bisexual

Race: 1/4 elf, 3/4 human

Class: Assassin

Sub-Class or Skills: Green Mage, Alchemist

Alignment: lawful neutral

Height: 174cm

Weight: 64kg

Appearance:
Tall and wiry, Esk looks completely human, with spiky red hair and dark blue eyes. However, he has inherited their gracefulness and height. He has a vague frown on his face at all times and has a serious, stoic demeanor around him. He has multiple scars all over his body, which are faded and sometimes hard to see due to age. He has a more visible, ugly reddish-pink scar which runs across his body, like someone had slashed at him diagonally. Quite ripped, although his clothes disguise this fact.

He wears a green sleeveless jacket with a hood, and a long-sleeved white shirt with a really large collar underneath that. He wears brown pants, dark brown boots with buckles and dark brown sleeveless gloves.

Oddities:
He sometimes take things a bit too literally.
He has a kind of tactile thing with his watch, like a teddy bear.
He likes to hide part of his face in his shirt's oversized collar. If he doesn't have the collar, a scarf is the next best thing.

Abilities:
healing - good with treating injuries. Was forced to learn this the hard way.
Graceful - due to his Elven heritage, he is deft and quick on his feet. Has pretty good balance and is very fast.
Determination - will do his utmost best to accomplish his task. The only way to stop him when he's ordered to kill you is to strike a mortal blow, and even then he won't stop until he's dead.
Survival skills - knows how to survive in the wild. Learnt when he was master-less and when he was with his aunt.
Sharp eyes - can see far distances. Sharper vision than most humans. Helps with spotting traps.
Battle instincts - his battle-honed instincts lets him sense whenever someone tries to take him by surprise, causing him to move out of the way extremely quickly.
Weapons - the daggers are like an extension of his body. Too bad he only knows how to use daggers.
Wind - surprisingly, Esk only knows one spell, though that may change. He uses the wind like a buffer spell to enhance his speed.

Personal Items and Weapons:
a brown backpack filled with basic necessities for traveling and alchemical items.
A brown pouch filled with some food, odds and ends, and a dagger. It's attached to his belt.
Two saxes designed to be magnetized to each other, so that if he throws one it'll always come back to him, provided he has the other saxe in his possession. They can be used for both throwing and close combat and is about the length of his forearm, possibly longer.. Nearly indestructible. Made by himself, his friend and the castle blacksmith, who taught him how to repair it and take care of it properly. Has a leather hilt with the initials of both him and his friend carved on the bottom of both hilts.
A knife hidden in a waterproof sheath on his belt. Made so that it could be used for both domestic and fighting purposes.
A dagger hidden in his boot, made for throwing.
Multiple daggers hidden around his person, which can be used for both close combat and throwing.
A small pocket watch with a starry design on it, made out of bronze, with a long chain made out of the same material. He wears it around his neck sometimes, hidden under his clothes. Other times it's stuffed inside a secret pocket only he knows about. He has no idea how he got it, or when.

Personality:
Esk has a calm and serious demeanor. He has no social skills due to being naive and inept when it comes to people. He won't fight you unless you engage him in battle first, and it is almost impossible to provoke him, which is why the rare times he loses his temper is terrifying. He's pretty logical and practical, and prefers to do things by the book. He has the ability to keep a blank face in almost any situation and is kind of emotionally stunted. Pretty asocial, with no interest in politics and gossip. The kind of guy who can keep his cool in the battle field but freaks out when he has to socialize. Very hardworking, terse and likes to communicate with physical gestures. He is unnervingly subservient, with a very strong moral code, but that comes second to orders and rules. When he fights, he slowly grows more immerse in battling until he only has thoughts of fighting and is grinning from ear to ear; increasing his abilities and skills. Fortunately, you can still order him out of that state and it only happens when the fight is long. Short battles doesn't affect him like this. Otherwise, he's calm and collected and rarely smiles; being stoic instead.
Basically: orders-> rules-> personal opinion.

Bio:
player: Esk was created by a player who was new to gaming. This was his first time gaming, and he was a loner online, so he didn't make any real friends or permanent party members and kind of sucked. He just chose to travel around and play by himself, occasionally joining others, but never sticking with them. Finally gave up using Esk's character and went on to a new video game after the shutdown, having gained more experience in gaming.

Character bio: basically, Esk remembers he had a Master, a friend called Robin who was an alchemist, and an aunt called Emily. He also has some memories about battling, hanging out with his friend, his weapons, etc. however, it's still spotty. He's basically trying to find his aunt so that she'd tell him what to do. Oh, and he has an abusive childhood (and adult hood) and that he has basically been brainwashed to have a servant's mentality ever since he was young, something his aunt and Master took advantage of and encouraged with great enthusiasm. He was often sent to battle as a result, which was why he ended up liking fights. Robin was horrified, though, and tried to get him out of that mindset with limited success. When he was 19, his Master and Robin died in a bandit attack, was left for dead and then spent the next 3 years wandering around the country in grief and sorrow while doing odd jobs. Kinda felt look the world was ending for him. Then he remembered at age 21 that his aunt; who had sold him to his Master at age 14 and disappeared off the map, and is now trying to find her. Oh, and he seems to know a girl dressed in pink...

Likes:
 • orders
 • his watch
 • training
 • battles
 • people who resemble his friend
 • his aunt

Dislikes:
 • unnecessary social interaction
 • dark, damp and small places
 • disobeying orders
 • bandits
 • being weak

Fears:
isolation
People wearing white masks. Actually, mask's in general, especially the pure white ones.

Other:
he doesn't really realize that he was a slave and that he has slave mentality. He currently believes that his purpose in life is to serve others instead of himself. Possibly in denial.
Esk is really good with throwing knives and daggers.

Kazu awaited his answer from Zeebarl for a few moments before deciding to enter the inn himself. If the merchant wished to conduct business with him, It could be done inside out of the elements. As she entered, he saw most of the group had gathered near a few tables and decided to join them. As he approached, He noted that the red-haired knight was indeed in the inn, verifying her existence, he turned to approach her. He hadn't remembered her whole name, but he knew two syllables of it. It was something else he had remembered on his own without being told by someone else. Not sure if his thoughts were betraying him, he moved cautiously and lightly placed two fingers on the girl's left shoulder. "Ms... Alta...Altara? Is that your name?" Kazu was clearly puzzled about why this person's name came to him so quickly after just catching a glimpse of her. It couldn't be her name though, could it? At this moment, he felt so foolish, and began to turn away. "I... I'm sorry. That can't be your name. It's my mind playing tricks on me. heh..." He began to walk away from her towards Tollun's group with a nervous laugh in his voice.

Syn watched carefully for any signs Remeil, passing in and out of ally ways doing her best not to be seen. Unfortunately the rain made it difficult for her to keep stealth, the constant sound of her feet against the wet ground annoyed her greatly.

Stopping in her tracks as she arrived in front of what she assumed was a inn called 'The Minstrel's Mug'. Slowly inching her way up to the door and peering inside."Excellent..." a delightful smile moved across her face as she saw her prey. "Remeil I found you." The slumbering form of Remeil sat at the end of the inn surrounded by people. "Looks like the poison is still in his system. Well that's no fun." Rather than attacking him right out a twisted plot came to mind. Working her way to the group, she made he way to a neko setting next to Remeil. "Excuse me but is t-that Remeil. Oh I do believe it is." a blush appeared as she said his name.

Merrowvale Brainde, The Minstrel's Mug
Server Down for 2 Days

At long last, a crippled dwarf woman appeared from behind the bar, apologizing for the clerk's inability to answer and started detailing the rooms available.

And there was some mention of redecorating...strange. Now that she thought of it, while Altara had seen the inn was still named the Minstrel's Mug, and the face of this half dwarf seemed ever slightly familiar, some other details in this inn felt a little...off. Not that she could distinctively remember what they used to be like, though.

"...I suppose I'll take a private room.Keep the change if you want," she finally managed, fishing out a single gold coin and handing it to the crippled half dwarf. Of course, her relinquishing of the change was less an act of goodwill and more of her wanting to just get to bed as soon as possible. Taking the key to one of the private rooms, she was about to leave, when...

Two fingers landed upon her left shoulder plate--without much force, but hard enough to get the red-haired knight's attention. There was a young person with long, flowing black hair staring at her with an unsure expression. "Ms...Alta...Altara?" a quiet voice uttered, from that person's lips.

Wait...what?!

As Altara watched with a stunned expression, too startled to respond, this person suddenly turned away, looking embarrassed. "I... I'm sorry. That can't be your name. It's my mind playing tricks on me. Heh..." With that, the strange black-haired person started walking away, towards the half-dragon's group.

Staring after the flowing black locks for a while, Altara felt even more confused. This person...she knew my name! Then, wait...does she know anything else about me? Anything that happened before...

...that was a boy.

That completely irrelevant, almost offhanded thought popped into Altara's mind without warning, and scattered her thought process even further. Wait, how did I know that?! I've never seen this person before...well...I don't remember meeting him, anyway! Just who is he?! And...who am I?!!

Her own left hand, clad in silver armor, reached out and caught the black-haired boy on the shoulder. "Wait," she commanded. "This is our first meeting, isn't it? And yet, how do you know my name?" A note of desperation began to enter her voice, and whoever just walked into the inn completely phased past Altara's awareness. "Does this mean...you know something about what happened before I lost all my memories?"

A delicate grin graced Scarlet's lips as she was given permission to pet the kittygirl's tail. Scarlet loved animals more than anything in the world (or at least she thinks she does.) and the girls soft talk was so intriguing. As she continued to pet the girls tail, she noticed her somewhat strange hairstyle wasn't actually all hair and that in fact, she had cat ears as well as the tail. It almost seemed that Cardista was a cure for her shyness and the key to at least one memory. She could "remember" being a small girl, playing on the floor of a tavern when a man walked in with a small crate. He looked at Scarlet and smiled before setting the crate down and lifting a small black kitten with a white crescent moon on it's chest out of it. The man handed her the kitten and told her to take good care of it. She set the playful kitten down and began petting her before calling her by her new name for the first time. "Luna". Just then, she remembered where she was and noticed that she had started lightly brushing her fingers through Cardista's hair at some point in her memory. "I, I'm so sorry Ma'am. I didn't mean to mess up your hair or anything" Right after Scarlet said this, another young woman walked into the inn and came directly to the table she was at and began asking about the man with his head on the table. Scarlet almost instantly had a bad feeling about this person, but couldn't understand why.

Kazu's eyes widened. So he had remembered the red-haired knight. He turned around to quickly face her, the surprise still evident on his face. He felt as though, he couldn't even remember how to speak at this moment, but he pushed past that feeling. "N-No, we've met before, I think... I can't really remember, but I knew your name when I saw you in the street. And there was another woman as well. She was in blue cloth robes, and a man in a white shirt with a brown leather vest and pants. He had a sword on his hip, and... and.. uh... his name was... it was... It started with an 'E'!" The memory had began coming back to him more vividly than before, but it started to fade away. "The four of us... we were all inside of a cavern or a tunnel of some sort and we were fighting together... but after that... I can't remember." The Twin Blade shut his eyes tightly, trying to make the memory come back, but his mind bare no fruit as the memory faded. "D... Do you know who either of those other people were? If... If we can find them, then maybe they can help us..."

Edvisg

After fishing the girl out the correct change, she turned all her attention to the half dragon. Placing her hands on her rounded hips she grinned brightly up at him. "Are you a welcomed sight for my one good eye!" She wasn't afraid to make sure of her battle scars to her they were like he own badges of courage and sweet reminders of the exciting life she once lived. She shot a look over to her employee Kern, snapping her finger to try to wake the blonde beautiful man out of his gaze. He normally had a look confusion on his face, not being the brightest one, but he was a hard worker and seemed to remember how to pour drinks, though him making change frightened the hell of Edvisg. "You need to stop all this daydreaming love and go see what these kind folks would like to drink..." She sighed shaking her head some as she watch him make way over the party's table to take there orders. She return all attentions to her old acquaintance. "So Tollun, I'm glad to see you not in chains my friend. Are you here for rest and relaxation, a place to hang low, or maybe I can get you something to eat and drink. Whatever you need is on the house dear. Or maybe to you just missed looking at my lovely self?" She laughed jokingly.

Kern

The giant of a young man standing near 7 foot tall came up to the table making a mental note of all the faces one by one. His blonde bowl cut hair seemed to get in the way of his soft green eyes, blowing upward some before sweeping it out of the way. His clothing looks of good quality but not tailored properly to his lengthy form, the sleeves of his dark brown tunic cut off several inches before his wrists, and his black pants looked as though he had known the rain was coming and was perpared to wade through a flooded street. He offered the table a goofy smile before speaking, "Welcome one and all to the infamous..."
(Edvisg chimed in, " No, no, no darling! it's the FAMOUS...")"Sorry ma'am...The Famous Minstrel's Mug. Best food and drink in all of Brainde! How may I offer my humble assistance to you all this evening?!" It was clear to see the dwarven woman must of had him rehearse this sh-peel quite ofter, by all the pausing and over exaggeration in his tone as he spoke. That and the small fist pump he seemed to give think he nailed it. He waited patiently waiting for everyone to tell him their orders. One thing he had ease with remembering for a short time at least was orders.

Merrowvale Brainde, The Minstrel's Mug
Server Down for 2 Days

Whatever was happening, it seemed the black-haired boy was just as confused as she was--he somehow did know her name, and he remembered he met her, yet everything else was foggy for both of them...

But something bothered Altara even more--he had mentioned a girl in blue robes had been present at their meeting. Could it be...that same girl I always keep dreaming up?! Then...she's not just a hallucination! But if that's the case, who is she?!

Her teeth clenched in frustration at all the questions that kept popping up without end, but she managed to refrain from losing her calm altogether. Searching her mind futilely for the story this boy just told her, she couldn't find anything close to it. "...I can't remember any of what you just said," she replied quietly. "I still don't recognize you, and I don't remember being in a cave with you or that man you mentioned. But..."

Glancing around a bit as though she were worried someone would hear, the red-haired knight pulled him closer (a bit too forcefully) and whispered quietly, "There's someone I keep seeing everywhere around me. When I'm walking, in my dreams, anywhere. And she was dressed in blue robes, just like that girl you mentioned. Until now, I thought she was only a weird fantasy, but...you've seen her too, and you...knew my name, so that must mean..."

She couldn't find the right words to continue, and with a shaking lip, ended up gently releasing him. "Never mind...now I'm probably the one sounding like a lunatic at this point," she muttered, feeling the rest of her emotional drive vaporize.

Esk nodded and sat back, registering their names. He still had no idea who the knight and the pale girl was, though. Kazu was talking to her frantically, so maybe they knew each other? Well, Esk wasn't going to interrupt their conversation. He did save two spots for them, though, and kept half an eye out in case the pale girl tried to do anything strange to Carista. If anything unwanted happened, Esk was prepared to stop and help mediate the situation. After all, fighting wasn't normally allowed in bars, even if the bartender looked like she had fought a dragon and won. Tired, Esk stared at the door, wondering about the merchant. should I save a place for him...? he frowned, thinking.

His pondering was interrupted when he caught sight of a young woman peering from behind the door of the inn. Esk froze when he saw her smile. It was beautiful and malevolent, and Esk had a sudden flash about seeing a girl dressed in pink with the exact same expression when she had just found an interesting way to end a half-dead monsters life. It was gone as soon as it had appeared, but the feeling the flash of memory had given him remained. He tensed, cautiously watching her enter the room and walk towards them, fear and wariness making him alert. Esk refused to let down his guard, and subtly made sure that his weapons were in reach and easy to pull out if he wished to. Even though she now seemed harmless, friendly and strangely excited to meet Remeil (her cheeks flushed when she mentioned his name for some reason), That smile she had before entering the inn...

Esk moved, making sure that he was in position to protect everyone, especially Carista; who was talking to the woman in the cloak and therefore in the most danger, and Remeil; who was sleeping and therefore defenseless. He paid his full attention to her, prepared to react if she made any move, and waited for the awkwardly tall man who seemed to be their waiter to react to Carissa's beckoning. He nudged Remeil's shoulder, aiding Carista in waking him up. If Remeil had a bad reaction to the woman, Esk was ready to ask her to leave, using force if needed.

The twin-bladed swordsman in black put a hand on Altara's cheek and smiled before he spoke to her. "Well, if we managed to find each other, and we can both remember the same person, isn't that well enough an indicator that the person does indeed exist? I don't know what sort of terms we were on before, weather friends or enemies, but at least until we manage to discover our pasts, i would like it if we could work together. Just for the time being." Just as the door opened, he felt like something was wrong and his hand slipped from Altara's cheek and went to the hilt of one of his swords, but he froze seeing that it was a seemingly gentle looking Half-elf and his grip loosened slowly as if he were conflicted on weather to kill or to let her be. Finally he decided that it would be best if he let her play out her intentions rather than jump to conclusions. He kept his guard as he watched her from beside Altara, feeling very uneasy about her.

Tollun had remained unphased for most of the time in the bar, but when the new girl entered, something bothered Tollun. His glared burned in the direction of the new girl, the obvious signs of his distrust permeating across his body, well beyond his normal, even when he was on the run.

"I will have my normal. I have silver today." Tollun responded, knowing that Edsvig knew that he placed no value, beyond basic monetary, in silver or copper. It was a fact that dragons only cared about gold. He then made sure to tilt himself so that his recently acquired sword, the etching of a dragon still visible, shone in Edsvig's direction.

After another second, or two, Tollun spoke, this time in a hushed tone and in draconic. "Something is not right about the woman who just walked in. She is too well dressed to be acting like that around the red haired man. I don't know who she is affiliated with, but I don't like it."

Tollun hoped that Edsvig was the only other one who knew draconic, but he was prepared otherwise.

Edsvig went about pouring a tall mug of ale, though keeping her eye on the strange woman that had entered her place of business. Returning to Tollun she sat the drink before him. She answered back in the same hushed tone in draconic, her grin falling to a more concerned tight lines. "She's no slave...Maybe a slaver. Did the red haired man say anything about his captures?"

"Kern! You sweet boy, I don't think they are quite ready. Why don't you go back to the kitchen and whip up a couple bowls of stew for them and some bread?" She watched as the giant lad nodded and made his way to the kitchen area that laid behind the bar. He may of looked menacing from his size, but if a fight was to break out he would only be in the way.

Listening in, Tollun heard the woman speak of an antidote... and Basilisk Venom. He had long known of it, being a slavers favorite due to the fact that it simply paralyses a victim until the antidote is administered, often killing those that it ends up starving rather than by venom.

Again with hushed draconic, Tollun spoke "You still have the freeleaf roots in the back. I think she isn't lying about the venom, but I doubt the rest. How he was acting and moving, it reminds me too much of when we first met. Kern had to haul me off the table before anyone noticed." A few seconds after that, Tollun came back to reality and continued, "All I know about him is that was a slave that was being chased by some far worse than the ones that chased me out of the city last. They had invisibility potions, but they scattered when their commander fell."

Tollun then reached over for his drink, dropping the appropriate amount of silver before picking up the mug. Taking only a sip off the top, Tollun only took small, fake sips afterwards. He knew what his favorite brew did to him, and right now he didn't need that.

She pocket the coin and made way to the kitchen. She did have a few freeleaf roots stored back there. She made quick work in boiling some water dropping some of the roots in to make a sort of tea. A lot like the one she had made for Tollun some time ago. After pouring some of the steaming liquid into a mug, she took a moment to see what Kern was doing. She sighed as it appeared the boy was getting more soup on the floor than in the bowls, and had managed to mangle her walnut bread in his failed attempts to cut it. She would have to deal with that later...

Back out to the main dining room, sitting the cup up on the counter before awkwardly pulling her small stubby body back up onto her crate. She tapped Tullon on the back of his arm, and pushed the brew closer to him. "Give this to your friend.."

Cardista

Not wanting to believe the woman she began to shake Remeil more forcefully, almost tearing up. Something about Syn seemed off and she wasn't about to let her give him any potions...For all she knew it could kill him quicker. Normally being the trusting sort, it was out of character for her to get this feeling from anyone and it scared her. Fear was not an emotion Cardista was familiar with and it felt as if the air getting thin in the room.
"Please...Please wake up!"
She hopped out of her chair, crawling up on the table in front of Remeil, as she continued to try to awaken him. Her head press to the side on the table as she closely watch for any sign of awareness in his face. Her tail hanging low in despair. It was almost childlike the way she refused to believe that he could not just awaken on his own.

Remeil's body collapsed to the ground as his eyes shot opened. A coughing fit came from his lungs as he tried standing up. "Gah...what was that!" Part of him felt like vomiting while the other wanted to keep what little contents existed in his stomachs. Everything felt like it was spinning and his vision was blurring in and out.

"Oh my, it looks like I might have to change my approach." Syn's voices carried through the air barely above a whisper.

Remeil froze at hearing Syn. A cold chill ran up his body and time seemed to slow time. His dream had come to an end. "So Azazel, you've come for me." Using the wall to brace himself he made his way to his feet. Trying to keep his balance he looked at the dark haired woman before him. "Master Zeno has found me."

"Zeno...?" Raising one brow quizzically. "Oh yes him! He's dead, well by now he should be." Syn clapped her hands with a smile and slowly approached Remeil with a strut. "I've come to tell you that and to make sure you haven't died." She ran one finger over his chest. "You should come with me, we can start over just me an you." She kept her tone sweet and sultry. "We could even hunt down other slavers and take everything from them. Including their lives."

"G-get away from me." Remeil pushed her away tripping in the process. "You're lying....Only pain....Serpent Rose." It took everything he had not to pass out again. His eyes darting around the room.

"Oh so you do remember my other name. Now Hell's Blade don't be stubborn and join me." Syn stood over him enjoying how pathetic he looked yet aggravated that he was so weak. "I promise Zeno is dead and can never harm you again."

Cardista shifted to sitting on the table now, paying hard attention to what was transpiring between Syn and Remeil. So they defiantly knew each other...Check.
She wiped the bottom of her sleeve at the corners of her eyes. She may of killed Remeil's wicked master...Check.
She lowered her small legs to the floor with a slight hop down. Syn seemed to dislike slavers too...Check.
Her ears lowered flat to her head not caring for the way Remeil seemed so displeased by the woman's advances and to be honest so was Card. Her tail fluffed as she watch him push the woman's hand away. She pushed in front of him, her back pressed tightly to Remeil. This of course did not provide him much coverage considering she only stood to his mid chest. She puffed up her chest as she narrowed her eyes up at this crazed woman. It was like a loyal pet hoovering over their wounded master. Her hands reaching back to touch at the sides of his hips, curling the tattered material of his shirt into her fingers. Working as his own personal neko shield she gave a small growl.
"Remeil doesn't seem to want you here...Which means we don't want you here."

Seeing Remeil grasp his blade, Kazu moved to Syn's flank and drew his own blades, his offhand drawing a smooth curve and it's tip leveled to the floor with his right handed blade seemed to float gracefully overhead. He didn't really know anyone within the inn other than the faint memory of Altara, but he had made a healthy pact with Esclava earlier, and he had been traveling with this group, so his promise of blade and blood would carry to these people as well.

He watched as Cardista attempted to shield Remeil and Syn drew her blade. His voice was lower and full of a dark sense of warning, but still gentle in his bell-like tone as he spoke towards Syn. "You may want to stow your blade Ma'lady. I would want to wetten my swords with the blood of a woman if I could avoid it, but at your current heading and speed, it may just be impossible to change course." His blades seemed as if they were frozen in time, completely unmoving. The intent to kill with his first strike was clearly evident as his lilac eyes affixated into Syn's eyes of burning crimson.

Merrowvale Brainde, The Minstrel's Mug
Server Down for 2 Days

While Altara and the black-haired boy were talking, the boy seemed to notice something going on behind them, and started watching it from behind Altara with an uneasy look, as though he had a sixth sense. Looking in the same direction, Altara could see there was yet another newcomer--a half elven lady with long black hair had sidled up next to the sleeping red-haired man, pulling out flasks and acting all emotional. To Altara, it just looked strange.

And then, everything turned upside down in the dining area all at once. The half dragon tipped the sleeping man's chair back and dumped a strange drink into his mouth, immediately causing the man to wake up--and then, he recognized the half elf, as somone hostile. Right then, the half-elf's demeanor also completely changed, and she started trying to...what even was that behavior? Seducing him? Threatening him?

Regardless, the man was making it very clear he wanted nothing to do with her, and that cat lady from earlier voiced this fact as well--only for the half elf to threaten her with a knife. As Altara looked on with wide eyes, a new thought entered her mind. And for the first time since her amnesia, she was completely confident in this choice.

Stop her. Now.

Moving her left hand down the shaft of her spear, she pulled the leather sheathe from its blade and tossed it aside, just as the black-haired boy who had been with her moved to Syn's side with blades drawn. Silently nodding to him as she sprang into action, the red-haired knight slid between the elf and the cat lady, holding her spear in both hands.

"Can you not take a hint?" she demanded, her temper flaring up. "I don't know what your past is with that man, but he's made it clear he doesn't want to be with you. And as for you, all you've shown so far is that you're willing to make people bleed when all they're doing is sticking up for friends!"

At that moment, her eyes flashed violet, and an aura resembling flames of similar color surrounded her. This was one of the magic spells she remembered she still could use, Bewitching Eyes. She couldn't remember if it worked on every single enemy she would ever meet, but it at least affected monsters and caused them to target her and only her for attacks. At the same time, it gave her greater control over her spear techniques, so that whenever Altara made a single attack, if she performed the movement just right, she could use the momentum to make another attack in a row.

"Let me spell out what we're all trying to tell you--leave this man alone!" Altara shouted defiantly, the flames rising in time with her shout.

Esclava

Esk got out of his seat in one swift, easy move and was beside Remeil and Cardista in an instant, ready to defend them. He could see that Kazu and the red haired knight were ready to take on the strange lady (Hostile. Weapons:unsure. Something small. Be careful when attacking her.), but the two who seemed to be in most danger were too close to the battlefield and might get in the way. He carefully grabbed Remeil's wrist, gently pulling it away from the hilt of the broadsword. "Let them handle it," Esk said softly, jerking his head towards the knight and Kazu. "Move to a safer location first, so that we don't get in the way of the battle." He grabbed Cardista and Remeil's arms, subtly guiding them towards Tollun, who was sitting by the bar and watching the proceedings. He nodded towards Tollun, handing the two over to him. "They're the targets. Protect them. I'll help." He muttered.

Pulling his saxes from their sheaths, Esk turned and moved back towards the battlefield, quietly moving towards a position that would allow him to both cover Kazu and the knight (they seem to know what they were doing and he might be a hindrance if he joined them) and defend the trio at the bar if needed. "Is it against the rules to do battle here?" He asked Tollun without moving his gaze from the half-elf. His saxes gleamed dimly in the light as he shifted into an offensive stance, prepared to both defend and attack. If so, he was fully prepared to interrupt the battle and force it outside. Failing that, he planned to help end the battle as quickly as possible.

She backed up even tighter to Remeil. Bending her leg up as she pulled out her own small dagger concealed within her knee high boots.. Though hand to hand was not her preferred style, Cardista wouldn't hesitate to at least try to fight off the woman if needed. Though the aide of the others jumping up to help was a relief and gave her more courage to stand up for her new friend. Her heart still raced with a surge of adrenaline that came with the crazed woman's threats.

She was so caught up in the moment she barely heard Esk speak to Remeil and suddenly broke out of her out of her heated moment as he pulled them both out of the line of fire and over to Tollun's direction. She looked up at the half dragon confused as to why it seemed as if she wasn't allowed to fight. Sure she wasn't the most gifted warrior, but she could at least try to hold her own. But she noticed the dwarven woman slipping a key up on to the counter, and figured that was for them...She grabbed it quickly nodding her thanks as she latched on to Remeil's hand practically dragging him up the bare wooden stairwell. She propped him up against the wall as she work quickly to unlock the door to one of the finished rooms. With a rough pull to the bottom of his shirt Card lead him in over to the bed, giving him a small shove so he knew she meant business. Also so that that he may rest, sit, or whatever he wanted to do in his still weakened state. After relocking the door she allowed herself to lean back against it, sighing as she slide down it's length to the floor sitting guard. Her legs bent up at the sides in a rather odd positioning.

After a long moment of letting her heart rate slow to a more normal pace, she looked over to Remeil in a questioning manner. She took a deep breath as she went to place her dagger back into the sheath of her boot's lining. Her voice still shaken.
"Who is that woman?"

Before the battle could truly begin, the voice of Tollun could be heard. He chose to speak the moment that Cardista had dragged Remeil out of sight.

"Move aside." The half-dragon commanded, his tone half pure rage, half someone is going to die. Reaching within a few feet of his target, next to a table with four chairs, Tollun spoke again, in the same tone. "This city may hide many crimes, but there are two laws that exist here without question. No one steals and all slavers die."

With his words spoke, and inhuman speed, Tollun threw a chair at Syn, following quickly after it, his blade ready to block an incoming blow or strike deep into her chest. His scales had changed color, now adding blood red streaks, as well as his blade's etching of a dragon glowing a evil shade of red. A shade that dragons knew as rage.

After his initial strike, Tollun would fling 5 more strikes, each with more strength and speed as his own rage grew by the power of his hate of the slaver.

Not like this was the first time he was fighting a slaver here. Several times before had him, and other slaves, draw slaver's purposefully to their communal lair. One half-dragon was a great threat, a room full of slaves added on to that... certain doom.
