Elemental Gifts

Elemental Gifts

0 INK

Twins from all different races are given powers of a single element that corresponds with their other half. What happens when they are all brought together to be trained by an old master of the arts?

1,042 readers have visited Elemental Gifts since Aurelier created it.

Introduction

Sets of twins have been gifted with the talents of the elements. These twins range from creatures like vampires to plain humans, from witches to kitsunes. The supernatural creatures know about each other and the magical twins, but most likely the humans will not.

Seventeen years ago, a bright light flashed across the sky, leaving scientists wondering and humans stunned. The vampiric scholars knew exactly what happened and immediately began searching for the source of light. Sets of twins had been born all over the world and they each held a power, their element was opposite of their twins. The vampires were searching to destroy these twins and this is where the story begins....

An old man has called together the now seventeen year old twins, searching high and low for them. Some twins have been seperated through the years and others don't know of their powers. The man was a prophet and was able to get them all together to train and help them run from the sadistic vampires that were searching for their heads. They will train with the man and eventually be forced to leave. The roleplay will start at the old man's cabin with the group being assembled, the man had to lie to most of them to get them there.

If a character's race has a certain power like a witch's magic, it won't be very strong unless their element is used with it. This can cause them to either be feared or ridiculed by the rest of their type.

"But Mom!" Adelina shouted in protest, but her mother just shook her head.

"No 'buts', Addy. You know we have to go to the meeting. Why don't you use the time to actually try talking to Chantelle for once?" Their mother was always trying to force them to be closer, but it was futile. The two would never get along. Chantelle was the perfect demon child. She had the dark look, the black shadows and the midnight colored wings. Adelina was an abomination with her prismatic hair that could split white light into rainbow colors. Her mother waved and her father kissed Chantelle on the head. To them, Adelina was just an annoying white shadow in the corner they never seemed to notice unless they needed to yell at something. In their eyes, all she did was ask for money. The twins' parents left and Adelina went up to her room which was furnished in luxuriant whites. She put on some cute clothes and walked out the door, sparing her twin a quick glance.

"Going to a vampire party," she explained, not caring how forbidden it was. They threw the best parties and as long as she kept the fact that she was an element twin, she was safe. The second she was out the door, though, a man had his arm wrapped around her neck. He lightly poked a few pressure points and Adelina's vision went dark.

-----------

Adelina blinked her eyes to find herself staring up at a wooden ceiling. The boards were mishapen from what she assumed was water damage, but she didn't know anything about that. Rubbing her head, she sat up to stare around at the area. There were seven other beds in the room, each old and creaky and holding a teen of their own. A man was sitting at a desk and upon seeing that Adelina was awake, he looked from whatever it was that he was writing.

"Good morning, Adelina," he said in a creaking voice, putting the pen down. His finger tips rested against each other as he took her in. She found herself in the clothes she had been wearing for the party, and she was very confused.

"What is going on?" she asked, her voice rising a few pitches. "Who are you and why did you kidnap me?"

"Oh. my light child. All will be revealed once the others wake up, but it shouldn't be too long now." He looked over the said others who seemed to be stirring as if they would be waking up soon.

Chantelle stayed quiet and as her dad kissed her on the head she said, "By Daddy!" She loved her parents and didn't understand why Adelina had so many problems with them. Adelina was always the one that people were drawn to because of her light powers. She was just warmer and people liked her looks much better. She was the joining of all colors, while Chantelle was the absence of all colors. Chantelle sighed as her sister went out the door to go to another vampire part. Personally, she found vampires annoying and disgusting creatures that fed on girls that they seduced into their little blood ceremonies. They were annoying leaches.

Upon hearing a scuffle outside, Chantelle opened the door to find her sister slumped against some crippled old man. "What's going on?" She cried, reaching for her cell phone, but before she knew it she was blacking out. The man hadn't even moved, but he had some sort of power to cause people to go unconcious.

Chantelle scratched her head, having a headache as she woke up in a mysterious place. From the looks of where she was, she was in a run-down shack. "What's going on?" she mumbled, looking around. She heard the man's reply to Adelina and realized there were others in the room. She brought her blanket up to her chin and partially hid. She was getting scared.

"Ugh..." Verdel rubbed his head; it felt like he had a hangover. As his vision came to, he looked around and realized he was in a room in what appeared to be a cabin. There were other sleeping teens in beds too, and one girl was talking to an old man at a desk. "What the heck ....?" He sat up and rubbed his eyes, and then swung his legs over the side of the bed, about to get up. "Last thing I remember I was talking to..... RAPHAEL!" he had accidentally raised his voice louder than he had intended. He looked around urgently in panic for his brother, but calmed down (as much as someone waking up in a foreign location could) when he realized he was in one of the beds. The rest of the kids looked like total strangers, Verdel didn't recognize any of them.

"Um.. excuse me.." he said timidly as he walked over toward the girl and old man. "Just what is going on here?? How did I get here, and why do I have amnesia?" he scratched his light green hair. "And what is my brother doing here too..."

Kaiser stood as still as he could, trying not to make any sound. A few feet away, a small rabbit munched queitly on a branch. Kaiser raised his hand, his concentration focused on a small rock next to mhim. The pebble began to rise, until it hovered, a few feet from his hand. When he was sure his aim was true, he pointed at the rabbit and the stone took off.
Moments later, he was heading back to camp, the rabbit, now dead, clenched in his hand. The smoke from the fire was still going strong when he walked through the brush to the clearing where he and his sister had made camp the night before. Kaiser was about to call out to Suki, when he saw his smaller sister was still asleep.
A smile crept it's way to his face, hidden by his mask. He dropped the rabbit down by the fire, and walked over to his sister. He placed a gentle hand on her, giving a small shake.
"Sister. Suki, it's time to get up." ,Kaiser spoke, his damaged voicebox making it sound growly and harsh. WHen she seemed like she was stirring, he stood up, and turned his attention back to the fire.
A snap was the first thing that alerted him to trouble. Kaiser froze for a second, before reaching out and calling his staff to his hand, whirling around to see the danger, poised to attack.
Kaiser was in awe. Someone had snuck up on them, and that someone was looming over his sister. HE raced forward to stop the intruder, his staff held high over his head. Before he could reach it, Kaiser felt his strength draining, his conciousness slipping. He pitched forward, face in the dirt. The last thing he saw was his sister, still lying on the ground, the figure over her....

-----------------------------

Kaiser awoke with a start, the cot under him creaking loudly. He couldn't make heads or tails of where he was, or why. He scrambled around, checking that everything was as it should be. Mask? On his face. Staff? There, by his hand. Suki? When he could not see her immediatly, he leapt out of the bed, panic rising through his mind. But he didn't get more than a few feet before he saw her, lying in a bed, right next to his own. He breathed a sigh of relief, dropping to his knees next to her. Kaiser laid there, unmoving, his head next to her, hsi mind not focusing on anything else, jsut the thought that she was okay. For now.

Zenko toed the body in front of him with his boot, surprised at the outcome of his little experiment. The man’s blood pooled across the tile of the convenience store, the back of his head missing, the barrel of the gun still in his mouth. Zenko hadn’t though the arrival of a police squad would push the man to commit suicide, but what was done was done. With a grimace he stepped over the body to look the cashier in the eye. Though direct contact wasn’t needed, it would make the memory stay longer. It took him little time to construct the idea that the man had come in waving his gun about, shouting about his kids, before he shot both the camera and himself. Carefully he laid it over the memory containing his own image, hiding the fact that he had been there. Once he had implanted the memory he stepped back over the body with his gallon of milk and headed for the door. As he walked past a stand, he reached out a nonchalant hand to grab a bag of chips. The cashier owed him his life after all, what was the harm in leaving without paying for his milk and chips? Besides, stealing wasn’t the worst thing he had done today.

The fox’s apartment was close to the convenience store. He hated this city, with its smells and people. He didn’t know why he stayed when all he wanted to do was burn it to the ground then return to his forest. But foxfire didn’t work like that – you could only target one creature per tail… which meant that he was never going to be able to burn down more than one household at a time. And that would take forever.

Zenko felt his steps slow and he looked around groggily. He plodded on more, his feet growing heavier with each step. The idea that someone had drugged him entered his mind as he slumped against a brick wall. He grasped for his power, desperate to throw up an illusion – any illusion, but it slipped through his grasp like water. Darkness creeped from the edges of his vision then everything went black.

---

Zenko awoke to hear people talking. He couldn’t quite hear what they were saying yet, but there was defiantly more than one voice. He kept his eyes closed and did a mental check of his body. He seemed unharmed, he didn’t even ache. After a moment he realized he was completely human – drugs tended to make his lose control and change back partway. He steadied his breathing and inhaled deeply, trying to determine through smell and sound how many people were in the room and what they planned to do with him.

Raphael was already awake by the time his brother practically screamed his name. He had elected to stay in the moderately comfortable bed and listen to the unfolding conversation. One very key clue was already given to those what was going on here and that was the way the stranger referred to the girl as the 'light child.' It was quite a unique way of referring to someone. Though he did not bother to speculate any further into the meaning of this as it would soon be revealed, well probably anyway, the mans next few words would either confirm or deny the ideas that had already formed in his mind. Instead as his brother confronted the man rather sheepishly, Raphael simply shifted in the small bed to get more comfortable getting a quick survey of the room and it's occupants as he twisted around, with his final gaze coming up towards the stranger sitting at the desk, his attention undivided for now as he waited for the answers to flow from the mans mouth.

Yuki walked down the spa's hallway in nothing but her bathrobe the soothing spa music played throughout the entire spa ensuring a complete sense of relaxation wherever you were, she knocked on the door, a young women opened the door and gestured her to enter. " I will be right back I have to go get the baby oil you requested. Just make your self comfortable and lie on the table.", Yuki grabbed a towel and took of her robe and laid on the table as asked putting the towel on her waist to cover from there down, though she could care less with a female masseuse. The soothing music played as Yuki simply waited for the masseuse to return with her special baby oil, after all she was an idol her perfect skin couldn't get blemishes. Yuki slowly drifted into bliss as she fell asleep on the massage table.

----

Yuki moved around, she was on her back now yet her back she kept her eyes just maybe she was just flipped her over and didn't start the massage, Yuki waited sometime, soon she heard voices, not that of her agent, or the masseuse, but voices unfamiliar to her. She decided to use her heighten sense of smell to check the room for a familiar scent so she could find out what was going on, a certain scent caught her nose and her eyes opened wide she was under a blanket on a dirty old cot, she was practically naked under the sheet though her spa robe was sitting next to her, she grabbed it and marched over to the desk. "Where am I, and why am I here, I was on a very important spa vacation, do you have any idea who I am? I'm going to have my agent and manager here in a second and they'll sue you for every measly last dime you have you dirty old man," She reached into the robe pocket to grab her cell phone, but it was not there. Yuki began to get angry now. "I demand you return my cell you don't understand the trouble I can cause when I become very angry.", she exclaimed as she stared at the man clearly infuriated.

"Oh but I do little fox," the man replied as Yuki looked at him astonished at what she had just been called, after all she wasn't threatening him with her super powers, but rather her pull with important people in practically every field of work, but he knew the secret she had kept for seven years, even her adoptive parents didn't know the truth about her but he did, "Please sit down and once every buddy is awake I will explain it to all of you at once." The told as he looked around the room to see how things were going with the others.

Two whole days, she had counted the seconds as they passed, one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand… on and on and on. Occasionally she’d cry out in pain the steam of seconds would break and she’d try to count quickly to make up for lost time. Why was she counting? Because it kept her mind off the burning needles that were dug into every surface of her body, like fiery worms crawling underneath her skin. When she got very still and couldn’t open her eyes out of weakness she always felt something cool touch her neck then slowly move to her forehead then the slight sensation of a kiss on that spot made her tingle with delight if only for a moment, but the torture would resume instantly and she would resume her counting until she drifted into a deep dark nightmare filled sleep where the bite played over in her mind again and again.

The morning of that third day was quiet, peaceful, the girl’s screams had subsided and she seemed to be taking her final rest for all of eternity. Damon stood at the window of his apartment, twilight had begun to consume the city around him and the shadows began to dance in the dwindling light. He smiled, tonight would only be the beginning for this young girl, she would be perfect for her task, and with darkness arriving this early they had plenty of dark hours to spend on the hunt.

He moves from the window and pulled a blood bag from the fridge, the girl would be waking up soon and he knew the drill, first she’d attack begging for him to quench her thirst, then when he gave her the blood she’d drink it and when she’s finished she’d scream bloody murder after realizing what she’d become. Why else would this lovely apartment be sound proofed? Throwing the bag into the microwave for thirty seconds he leaned against the kitchen counter. He was so close, the twins were within his reach and he knew it, he had fought through plenty of slime ball vampires to get here and he wasn’t going to come out of this little adventure empty handed, with this young vampire under his control she would serve as a blood hound seeking out some of the rarest of blood and send him directly to the twins.

There was stirring in the bedroom, the small whimpers of a little girl. Damon smirked, grabbed the steaming hot bag from the microwave, and left to assist his newborn partner.

Suki's blue eyes fluttered open as she heard her brother leap out of bed.
Her hands covered her face skittishly as she shrunk back in her bed.
Opening one eye and moving her fingers, she watched him rest his head next to her, and seemed to calm.
"Good morning." she said soothingly, her musical and sweet voice ringing out.
The girl closed her eyes and lied there contently for a few minutes before sitting up and smoothing out her blue hair.
She ran her hand over her arm, taking off a thick black ribbon she had wrapped around it.
Her hands expertly pinned back her hair and made a perfect bow as she tiredly watched her brother.
It was clear just for her affectionate gaze that she loved her brother with all her heart.
One strand of her blue hair hung next to her face, and she inspected it.
She had always wished to have a normal hair color or at least look normal.
But she got over it and grew to love her blue hair/eyes.
Suddenly her eyes widened her her body tensed.
"Kaiser. . .I don't know were we are!" she cried, wrapping her arms around herself.
Big blue Bambi eyes searched her brother for some sort of reassurement.

The old man smiled at everyone kindly. "Good morning," he said as if he did it every time they woke up. He met each of their gazes and found surprise in each of them. "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here." He gestured to the area around them, but did it with such a flourish that it looked like he was gesturing towards a castle. "And I can say that it is for all of your safety. I will explain it later after we eat." He opened a door at the end of the room and a sweet aroma filled the area. "But I'm sure you're all hungry. Most of you have been sleeping for days, and we wouldn't want to discuss important matters on empty stomachs would we?" There was one long table with ten chairs and the table had every type of food imaginable on it. There were strange things that could sustain all of the different races."Dig in and don't be shy. What's mine is yours, and what's yours shall be mine." He added the last part quietly, hoping no one else had heard it.

Chantelle's eyes widened at the prospect of food. Were those bat wings? She glanced at her sister, not wanting to make the first move, but the man gently pushed her towards the table. She sat down and ate, too hungry to argue further. She wanted to know what was going on, but it could wait. She was hungry. As she glanced around at all the others she tilted her head. "Who are you guys?" She asked, trying to be polite and break the ice.

Kaiser's head snapped up at the sound of his sister stirring next to him. He couldn't help but smile. Suki was all he had left, so to see that she was perfectly find brought great joy. Kaiser lifted himself up onto the edge of the bed beside her, letting her fix herself. He was surprised Suki hadn't made a comment on their surroundings, the strange location in which they were currently in. He reached out a hand to get her attention when she cried out.
Suki had noticed where they were, and she seemed rather rattled by it. Kaiser slid farther up the bed, placing himself next to her. He reached around and wrapped his arm around her, giving her a gentle, reassuring squeeze. He looked her in the eyes, trying to convey his will to protect her through it.
Only after this did Kaiser take notice of the others in the rooms. There were many, most of them about his age, and just as confused as himself. When the old man spoke up, Kaiser instantly took a disliking. If what he had to say was important, why not gain their trust first, then bring them to safety? Kaiser's arm tightened a little more around his siter, trying to put himself between her and the man.
The man went on to present them with food. Kaiser's stomach growled loudly. He never did get to eat that rabbit he had killed, but what was this man's angle? Food was food, and no matter what came, he would need his strength to continue. But was the food safe?
Only one way to find out ,thought Kaiser. He pointed his staff into the room, at a plump apple perched in a bowl on the table. He guided the fruit slowly to his outstretched hand, pulling it from one room to another. Once in his hand, he examined, sniffed it. Once that passed his test, their was one last thing to do. Kaiser reached up a gloved hand and grabbed his mask. He pulled it down around his neck, revealing his scarred lower half of his face, as he took a bite of the apple. He replaced the mask as he chewed. It was sweet, very sweet. But not deadly. Kaiser turned to face his sister, handing it to her, nodding his approval.

Raphael was there in bed one second and then gone the next. With a certain unique nimbleness all his own he slipped passed the strange man and in the dinning area the instant the aroma hit his nose. What can be described as a dance around the table, Raphael had collected bits and samples from nearly all the foods of the smorgasbord laid out for them that he could fit onto a single plate. There was very little reason for the food to pose a danger, after all if the man wanted to kill them it would have been much less complicated to do so while they slept defenseless around him. With that question sorted out he gestured for his brother to come over to the table with eagerness as he took a seat across from Chantelle. Before he begun eating he applauded the girls effort for at least trying to break the ice and decided to help her and be the first to answer her question. "My name is Raphael." he stated warmly with a smile before clasping his hands together in prayer before digging into the meal. The way he ate betrayed his warm carefree tone as it revealed him to be someone with at least some high-class upbringing with every one of his movement at the table being refined. While he ate he waited for the next person to get over their anxiety about the situation and introduce themselves.

The old man, having barely answered Verdel's questions, proceeded to reveal a feast before the group of kids he was in the cabin with. "Well that's kind of random.. kidnap people and hold a feast like everything's normal" he muttered to himself. He looked over at the many different kinds of foods, detecting several different scents in the air; his nose cringed at any odor of meat. Raphael must have completely slipped past Verdel's awareness, as he had already helped himself to a little bit of anything (highly characteristic of his fickle brother) and already begun digging in. "Sheesh you don't waste any time, even when you have no idea where you are..." he said to his brother as he himself approached the table and made himself a heaping plate of fruits, vegetables, and greens. He plopped himself into the chair next to his brother and simultaneously bowed in prayer before munching away on the salad he had created for himself.

The girl sitting across from them broke the silence. Verdel noticed right away her dark eyes; they looked like voids of endless night. "My name is Raphael" his brother spitted out eagerly. Verdel lightly slapped his brother's thigh beneath the table, giving him a sort of look that said "could you NOT tell dark-eyed strangers your name without having any idea why they're here?" Nevertheless, he swallowed his cautions for the sake of manners and possibly getting some answers. "Verdel." he said before taking in a slice of pineapple.

An adjacent plate overflowing with apples of different colors caught Verdel's eye; he couldn't help but notice one unripe apple in the bunch. He lightly touched his finger to it, and the apple miraculously matured in an instant, evolving from a faint green color into a brilliant golden color. He no sooner realized what he had done when he looked around nervously to make sure nobody saw.

As the man spoke Yuki's eyes opened as the man said the word safety, "Our safety, in an old beat up shack like this, I can have the best bodyguards at my disposal if I wanted, I doubt you can actually be of any help.", Yuki was still quite furious from being up and taken from her spa vacation, she was given a free pass as a birthday and this old man just ruined it all for her. "You now old man Kidnapping is a serious offense you can go to prison for a very long time, and thats just for one charge, you went and abducted eight people, and I don't know about them but I'm only seventeen, which means you will be charged with more than just kidnapping for me". Yuki started to catch her breath and looked over at the table filled with foods, a small growl came from her stomach, she was supposed to go to lunch after the massage, but do to the circumstances neither had happened. She looked at the food it looked to be first class, could this old guy have control over reality like herself, were all the others just like her, if so why was he here, the scent of her brother was controlling the air, no matter how much she tried to focus on the matter at hand his scent interrupted her thoughts. They had been apart for seven years, since he wanted to stay in that boring forest they lived in, secluded from the interesting world that was right outside the border of the forest, no matter what she could not allow herself to speak to him, she a normal human now and had a new family, who do whatever pleases her. Though she'd rather be eating at the spa she decided she would need to eat so that she could if needed to run to safety far from this old man and room full of people. Yuki grabbed a plate and placed pieces of sushi on it, she looked around the table to see if there was anything else might interest her and after a quick check of table she sat down, after quickly finishing her meal, she waited for all the others to do the same, so she find out what it was about and how to get back to her family and manager.

Zenko finally sat up as the smell of food hit him, the sheets pooling around him. Damn, he was ravenous. Others had already started to move into the other room to eat. After a moment of thought and a quick glance around he cast an illusion of himself, turning his eyes green, making his hair a bit longer, and losing the tattoo on his chest. It was simple enough for him to maintain indefinitely, even around all these people. With that done, he swung his legs off the side of the bed.

Then her smell hit him. He looked up to see her scolding the old man before she disappeared into the other room. His eyes narrowed at the spot she had been, his hands fisting in the sheets. There was no way it could have really been her, right?

With effort he relaxed himself. If it was, he would find a way to deal. It had been seven years after all, he could be wrong. He negotiated around the beds and gave the old man a curt nod before stepping into the room with the delicious smells. His salivary glands instantly kicked into over-drive. His delicate nose could pick out the sweetness of apples, the sour tang of lemonade, meat still sizzling on its plate, and – oh, was that eel?

Without pausing he picked up a plate as far from the one who smelled like his sister as he could get and began to pile food onto it. He wasn’t too worried about poison or drugs – the old man could have done anything he had wanted by now, and Zenko’s kitsune nature left him resistant to normal drugs and poison.

The first thing he went for was the eel – sushi, baked, jellied. It filled over half his plate. As an after thought, he added other red meats, berries, and some fruit. It seemed like the others were introducing themselves, though he only caught the last name.

“I’m Takeshi Kojimoto” he offered with a grin. “Nice to be kidnapped with you.”

Adelina pouted, glaring evilly at the man as she walked into the room where she sat next to her sister. She refused to eat, even though the food made her stomach growl. The man stood at the end of the table, smiling at every one of them in turn.

“Stop doing that, you’re really creepy do you know that?” she asked, her voice had a sting to it that contradicted her bright appearance. The man only laughed and took a seat, grabbing his fair share of food. She leaned back and listened to everyone introduce themselves, mostly to Chantelle. That girl was so annoying! All she did was be nice, and Adelina knew if you were nice it made you weak.

She glared at her sister before turning to the rest of them. “Hello, I’m Adelina,” she said, deciding against adding her usual “my parents are the leader of one of the best covens in the world so don’t mess with me even if I’m an outcast” thinking better of it. She watched the one of the guys curiously and her prismatic eyes widened when the fruit changed color. “Well that’s a neat trick.”

Raphael's hands froze for a second and for an instant, as he glance at Adelina after her introduction, his eyes looked uncharacteristically cold and harsh and at the next blink of an eye they returned to normal as nothing had happened. He looked over to his brother at his side and gave a dry smile with an apologetic look, but with also a wave of his hand telling him to bear with him for a little while. ""My my quite the extravagant introduction." he said with the dry smile still on his face. The same question arose again 'Why were they brought here?' the answer had to lay in the people themselves, but even though everyone seemed to have similarities the races differed greatly, Raphael had yet to figure out the great linking factor. Two of his fellow kidnapped victims had yet to join the table, but he figured they would eventually. Raphael continued to eat waiting for either the stubborn idol to break her silence with some pleasant speech or Adelina's sister to introduce herself, well he already knew her name so it would be more of a benefit to the others.

Suki looked up when her brother hugged her.
She quickly mellowed out and relaxed in her twin's arms, closing her eyes for a moment.
After a light sigh, she stood up.
She still seemed slightly tensed as she took her brother's hand and led him to the dining room.
The blue-haired girl bowed her head in respect to the others before stating, "I'm Suki. This is Kaiser."
She often spoke for her brother, as he didn't like to speak to anyone other then her.
Her eyes that seemed to be made up of many different shades lit up when her brother offered an apple but she shook her head lightly. "No, you keep it."
A light sneeze escaped her and made her fragile body jump backwards.
It didn't seem like it would take but effort to overpower her, at all.
She sat down next to Kaiser and looked at the man that was smiling at her.
Suki shrunk back fearfully, her eyes going wide.
It was clear this made made her nervous and she didn't seem to trust him in the slightest bit.
Her eyes then fell on Raphael, although her look this time was less fearful and more curious.

Kaiser slowly followed his sister into the dining room, nodding at his introduction. Since he had burned his throat, he felt ashamed to speak, his voicebox having been damaged so badly, his voice sound gruff and more hoarse than usual. Usually, he would only speak to Suki, and she would convey his messages. They had a connection that way.
Kaiser made sure Suki had situated herself okay before sitting next to her, placing his staff in his lap, and staring at anything but the people around him. He still didn't trust anyone, even if he knew their names. Sure, they were all brought here by the same man for an unknown reason, but that didn't prove the others innocent.
Wanting to distract himself from these problems, he began to grab bits and pieces of food from the table onto his plate. He grabbed a piece of some delicious-looking bird creature, using his fork to bring it up to smell. It's scent was intoxicating. He removed his mask once more, the damaged skin exposed once more and took a bite. The food was fantastic, the flavours melting in his mouth. It had been sometime since Kaiser had eaten much, giving the larger portions of any food they obtained to Suki. This bird, whatever it was wonderful. He chewed it slowly, savouring it, forgetting his mask completely.

Chantelle smiled at everyone in turn. "Nice to meet you, well as nice as it can get under the circumstances. I'm Chantelle." Her smile was friendly even if her appearance was dark. The man nodded as every teen spoke their name, for he knew each of theirs.

"Well now that most of us have eaten," he says, sending a glance in Adelina's direction. "I will tell you why I have brought you to my cabin. I have trained many different species of creatures, but never quite as special as you." He smiled that strange, yet warm smile as he continued. "Prophets said that four sets of twins would be born, each child bearing the opposite elemental power as their twin. Most of you have probably figured out that you are already different than others of your race, but might not have figured out just how different." He wandered to each twin in turn and patted them on the head.

"Kaiser, you contain the powers of the flame. You've already experienced only the slight reprimand that comes with it, but as you train to be more powerful you must also learn how to control its strength. Suki, as gentle as a rain drop. Remember that not all water is calm and you must know its limits. Raphael, an angel that's closer to air than others. Don't let its slight breezes discourage you for great hurricanes can come from it. Verdel, as an angel, earth may be complicated for you. Just remember that the element chose you for a reason. Adelina," he frowned slightly as he looked her over. "You come from darker creatures, yet you are of light. Don't let that darken your personality. Chantelle, don't let the powers of dark seclude you from others. You've shown how outgoing you can be so try to be a part of something. People will be able to see past the dark interior once they get to know you. Zenko and Yuki, you two must watch each other so that Zenko doesn't get too caught up in his imagination, while Yuki lives only for what can be seen." He was now at the other end of the table and looked back at all of them.

"The forces of all the elements combined is something that threatens the very balance of our existance. Each of you is a personified version of what the element is, should something happen to one of you the world would fall into disorder. I'm afraid that the vampires do not seem to see that without you our world would perish. They only see your great powers that threaten their reign as the top creatures." He bent over so that his weight was on the table.

"I have brought you here in an attempt to protect you, but should I fail I am also training you to use your elements to protect yourselves. You will have to depend on each other so I recomend you get to know eachother." He then opened the door that they had been in before, revealing the rows of cots. "I only have four rooms total in the house: your shared bedroom," he gestured towards the room they had been in. "you're in the kitchen and dining area, a bathroom," he gestured to a door off to the side. "And one more room, but you shall not know its use untill it's time. When will that time be? We shall see." Before disappearing through the third door, he looked back at the group. "I have a surprise for you outside, but it will wait untill tomorrow."

Yuki began to get up as the man spoke to the group, she looked at him, "and what if we don't want your protection are we free to go?" Yuki was quite infuriated at the thought of being captured for something that had to do with the life she chose to give up and wasn't going to keep it to herself. "I gave all that up, I rarely if ever use my powers and haven't use my true form in seven years, I have no intention in participating in this training you offer you gave me. I was safe being just a normal human, you abducting me put me in trouble if anything, I want to just go home and have nothing to do with this, I don't believe I am the only one!" Yuki waited for the man to answer her, with a serious look in her eyes.

Adelina's jaw dropped as she looked at the room where he said they were going to be sleeping incredulously. "I am not sleeping in there with these crazy people! For all I know they might be freaks! You're probably some sort of rapist or something... Wait untill my father hears about this! All demonic hell will come down if he finds out you kidnapped Chantelle!" She didn't mention that he wouldn't care if Adelina had been kidnaped, she wasn't sure if he would. "You can't keep us here, or force us to be here!"

The man just smiled as the two girls worked themselves into rants. "You won't be able to leave. I've set up protective spells around the perimeter to keep you here and warn us if anyone comes in an attempt to kill you. You were not safe in your regular lives, a leak has happened and the vampires have learned of your identities."

Verdel sort of just stared, mouth agape, pieces of apple falling from his open maw as he watched the chaos in front of him ensue. He looked over to his brother, his mouth still open but realizing it and closing it by pushing his jaw up with his hand. "Are you buying any of this ??" He asked verbally, not even bothering to attempt mental communication. "You know what though. Our people had prophecies of such things, most of them said the exact same thing the man said.. four sets of twins with special powers, and here we all are, united under one roof..." Verdel looked around, particularly focusing his gaze on the two girls who were freaking out. "This man is obviously not a creep, nor a rapist... and... I think he's right. I think we're probably all in best hands if we just stay here and see what he has to offer us." He was really hoping his typical powers of persuasion were shining through; usually the crystal clarity of Verdel's mind was conveyed in his speech, enough so to win others over particularly when there was some form of disagreement. "For any of you who might be familiar with vampires...... they're not exactly the kind of people you can negotiate with." he put an emphasis on "people" to leave room for interpretation as to whether or not vampires could actually be considered "people".

"Sir," Verdel started, looking over at the old man, who had still been smiling this whole time. "if you are willing to teach us, then I am ready to learn. I cannot speak for everybody else here but, I've lived my whole life wondering the extent of my powers, and yet, having no idea how to harness them. If you promise you can teach me how to connect better with my element, and you also promise that what you say is true - that we cannot be harmed in here - then I have no qualms with staying. I have merely one request.... I want to sleep outside. It's not a personal thing .. your cots are rather, "comfy", but I much prefer sleeping close to nature."

“I hate doom and gloom” Zenko stared at him plate moodily, pushing around his half eaten meal. Never mind that this man knew his true name, or that he had to share a bedroom with others, or even that he was kidnapped. What bothered him is that his sister was here, sitting only a few feet away. What kind of kitsune was she, wearing human skin for seven years? It made him furious, that she could just turn her back on her true self and on their parents. He wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t even know how to turn back into a fox, let alone use her fire. And had she always been so whiney? The old man though she could help him?

Abruptly he stood up, almost knocking his chair over. “You heard him. Protective spells and all that jazz. Complaining isn’t going to do anything, except annoy others.” At this his gaze slid to his sister. “Yuki, it’s been so long, I didn’t even recognize you. You look good.”

He hoped that Yuki was so caught up in being human that she wouldn’t bother to point out that they could smell each other. Zenko guessed that the other creatures either already knew he wasn’t human or would know soon enough, but he doubted they could sense what he was. The kitsune were a reclusive lot when it came to the supernatural world. He liked to keep a few cards up his sleeve – he still wasn’t sure who he could and could not trust.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Hey guys, I'm really sorry to say this, but I'm going to be dropping out. I really liked the idea and was really looking forward to roleplaying with you guys, but there hasn't been a post in two weeks. Its been almost a week since my above post, and no one has responded to that either, not even the GM. I'm going to assume the game died and withdraw my toon.

Aurelier, please PM me if you decide to pick this up again (and please pick this up again). :D I really liked the idea and got really attached to my toon.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

hmmm PM me when you guys need me to enter if I feel like it I might put up another irrelivant backround post.... I'm not feeling creative enough right now to do one so maybe later... just letting you know in case I completely stop checking this... it's just easier if I don't have to check this every day to see when I should make my entrance.... I'm still totally interested in being the evil character! I should probably go over evil plans with Auralier... >.> like what am I suposed to do when I do come in? XD

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I'm the co-GM so don't think I was just randomly taking control of the old guy! Aurelier just wasn't available at the time to type out the old man's post so she had me do it.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Okay, we can continue from here and Horsey can catch up when she gets back.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I'm waiting on Horseygirl to post. We won't be following any specific order, but since it's the first post I think we should wait to make sure everyone's on board.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Everyone can just ignore my posts for now... they're only there as a time killer for me... basically the events leading up to discovering the twins.... because I'm not going to attack you guys when you're defenceless and confused... that's just cruel!

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Aurelier says playing the good person sucks, but didn't want to give up her light powers. Hm.. Sandi... red hair/silver eyes ARE pretty cool. >_< Maybe I don't want Chantelle to be as good as I originally planned

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I get enough of the "being the good kid" as Jaimie and he makes me want to vomit... He's been better lately because he doesn't run away from every freaking battle but still being good is so boring.... Sandi will be an interesting new character angle though... I'll write up my intro post eventually... just chilling for now!

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Haha yes. Chantelle is going to be a full on vampire hater! Should be interesting playing the good kid.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

The cabin is located somewhere deep in the woods. There will be a few training gronds nearby with different areas to accomodate each element. I still have to figure out how to work it out for Illusion and Reality. I'm thinking a room full of mirrors, but I'm still not sure.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I've only read the first two posts... but I have to say:

LOL STAR YOU'RE A VAMPIRE HATER IN THIS ONE!!!!! hahahahaha Hypocrit XP

And Vampires totally do throw the best parties!

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I would like to ask where is the cabin located and can you pm me so we can work out the relationship between the old man and my character?

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Commence the roleplaying! :D

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

fullmetal choose the kistunes, so she gets the credit for that!

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Sure! You can be one of the supporting characters! Just waiting on the wind twin, I'll pm them to make sure they're still interested. (Illusion and Reality as kitsunes will make things very interesting! Good choice!)

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

Could I has a spot as a support character? I would like to be a person who is a great friend of the old man and maybe with one of the twins.

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

We can start once all of the twins have their character sheets in, so please hurry! I want to be able to start this roleplay by tomorrow night

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I'm ready to post when ever, I'll probably have a small intro for my vamps plotting elsewhere then have the actual attack occur eventually, I'll let the twins settle in a bit of course but it looks like for the moment I'm the Vampire puppet master XP and until another vamp joins I get to call the vampire shots whoot!

Re: [OOC] +Elemental Gifts+

I like the mentoring vampireideaand I think it would work. XD because of cal and sad when i need a mean vampire i think of you. same goesfor elrith if i ever need a diplomat
