Physical Description: An X-Naut with a “Z” on his suit in the place of an “X” who also wears a purple cape.
Personality: Z-Naut has a cunning, devious mind… that is quite often overshadowed by his childishness and seeming incompetence. He possesses delusions of grandeur, wishing to become “the greatest villain of all time” and conquer the world. He’s not any closer than he was a decade ago.
Equipment & Abilities: Z-Naut wields a laser sword, and has some scientific prowess in technology as well. He also has the power to merge with Wartail, U-Naut, V-Naut, and W-Naut to create A-Naut.
History: An X-Naut who used to serve Grodus, Z-Naut formed his own splinter faction of X-Nauts after Grodus’ defeat during the Shadow Queen incident so that he might conquer the world instead. Z-Naut has since tried many times, bringing forth the ancient dragon called Wartail and mucking around with time travel. One other incident worth mentioning was when an accident with an interdimensional device (caused by—who else—Sockie) led to Z-Naut, Wartail, and some of Z-Naut’s men to be able to merge together into the far more evil and powerful A-Naut. More often than not, Z-Naut has also found himself on the side of angels, battling other villains with aspirations for world domination. He has been inactive in recent years, but as has now reemerged as a member of the all-new Society of Evil Peoplez!

Indeed, few people are up and about in Desmos - a recent terrorist attack and the late hour all contribute. Only the bare minimum of policemen patrol the streets, and two pass by the Cloak of Secrets, obviously not seeing anyone underneath.
"So you going to see the execution tomorrow?" asked one policeman to the other.
"Nah," said the second. "My kid's got an early choir recital I have to drop him off at."
"Shame," said the first. "But I'm sure you can catch it later. I mean, it's the von Koopas, for crying out loud. People are going to be talking about that execution for weeks!"
"You know, sometimes I worry about you," said the second. "You have this odd focus on death. It's kind of creepy."

A ding comes from the computer, and Z-Naut puts on some headphones.
"Hey, Shatter!" Z-Naut says into the headphones. "It's good old Z-Naut! I've got a guy here who's interested in joining the Society! It's Grimace, as in 'brainwash everyone into being part of his creepy family' Grimace! You need to interview him and stuff. Yeah, I don't know how he found us. Mmhmm. Well, see ya soon!"
Z-Naut puts away the headphones, and walks back to Grimace and U-Naut.
"He'll be here right away!" Z-Naut announces.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" hisses Sockie, grabbing Red by the shoulder. "You just heard those guys, didn't you?! Those 'von Koopas' they were talking have got to be Alex and his gramps! And they're going to be executed tomorrow! We gotta go rescue them, Majestic be damned!"

"Actually, Crunch," Kremlouie interrupted, "Sockie is right. Remember when we tried to get answers from Alex, but failed in the process? What if we convince him about Majestic's wrongdoings, maybe he won't be a negative nancy anymore. So what if he's got problems in the past? He needs another chance."
"Okay, fine." Crunch groaned, "But if he starts another stupid rant about his selfishness one more time, we're leaving him in there. I'm not going back to Hellborne to save his butt one more time."
"That's the spirit, Crunch!"
"Shut up!"
"Actually, Crunch," Kremlouie interrupted, "Sockie is right. Remember when we tried to get answers from Alex, but failed in the process? What if we convince him about Majestic's wrongdoings, maybe he won't be a negative nancy anymore. So what if he's got problems in the past? He needs another chance."
"Okay, fine." Crunch groaned, "But if he starts another stupid rant about his selfishness one more time, we're leaving him in there. I'm not going back to Hellborne to save his butt one more time."

"He's got a point." Kremlouie supported Sockie's reason, "Him and Alex are friends for a long time. Alright Sockie, let's go save your friend Alex."
I feel like I should point out that Kremlouie was advocating for using Alex for information earlier. Eh.

To help Sockie and his friends, Hazel-Naut and Gumble Ze Goomba split the group and follow them. Crunch and Kremlouie stayed behind to help Red.

Just then, a beep is heard from the computer Z-Naut was just at, and he rushes back over to it.
"Bad news, Grim." he says. "Shatter actually can't make it until tomorrow morningbecause my author no think good. However, that does mean we can have a sleepover!"

"That was some night, Grimace!" says Z-Naut, adorned in his pink pajamas, while pouring some morning coffee. "You're one of the toughest opponents I've ever faced in a pillow fight!"

"Dammit, I wanted to pillow fight, too...!" he thinks. "Erm... boss, you and Grimace might want to get dressed. Shatter's here."
"Already?" asks Z-Naut. "But I haven't even had my cereal yet! Oh... dammit!"
