Physical Description: An X-Naut with a “Z” on his suit in the place of an “X” who also wears a purple cape.
Personality: Z-Naut has a cunning, devious mind… that is quite often overshadowed by his childishness and seeming incompetence. He possesses delusions of grandeur, wishing to become “the greatest villain of all time” and conquer the world. He’s not any closer than he was a decade ago.
Equipment & Abilities: Z-Naut wields a laser sword, and has some scientific prowess in technology as well. He also has the power to merge with Wartail, U-Naut, V-Naut, and W-Naut to create A-Naut.
History: An X-Naut who used to serve Grodus, Z-Naut formed his own splinter faction of X-Nauts after Grodus’ defeat during the Shadow Queen incident so that he might conquer the world instead. Z-Naut has since tried many times, bringing forth the ancient dragon called Wartail and mucking around with time travel. One other incident worth mentioning was when an accident with an interdimensional device (caused by—who else—Sockie) led to Z-Naut, Wartail, and some of Z-Naut’s men to be able to merge together into the far more evil and powerful A-Naut. More often than not, Z-Naut has also found himself on the side of angels, battling other villains with aspirations for world domination. He has been inactive in recent years, but as has now reemerged as a member of the all-new Society of Evil Peoplez!

Z-Naut's Story

"Then there's no time to waste!" said Riley, tearing open his Superman pajamas to reveal his bloodstained labcoat beneath.
Z-Naut tears open his own pajamas to reveal... something you don't want described in detail. After a moment of embarrassment, he hops behind a conveniently-placed curtain and dons his uniform.
"I'll... go get him." says U-Naut, trying to erase the sight that he just witnessed with sheer willpower, as he heads back up the flight of stairs.

"Hey man, my... my body looks completely normal!" protests Z-Naut.
Soon enough, U-Naut comes back down the stairs, with Shatter following behind him. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, Shatter immediately walks up to Riley.
"Ah... Grimace, leader of the Happy Family." greets Shatter. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you. I am Shatter."

"A pleasure," said Riley. "I hear you're the one to get in touch with regarding joining this... Society."
"Indeed I am." replies Shatter. "But if you are really interested in joining our Society, Grimace, I'm afraid there are some things that must be cleared up first; some... questions lingering in the air. Why have you only just now resurfaced? And why have you been seen with Quintus von Koopa, a former member of a group I'm sure you're quite familiar with: the White Platoon?"
Riley thought about this. Truth be told he didn't really know the answer to the first one - he knew he was frozen and suspected his thawing might have something to do with the changing climate, but he wasn't an expert in the changing climate. As for the second, he honestly didn't know that the Koopa was a Platoon member - he was busy trying to get out of Sanctuary before he was bombed at the time, and thought safety and numbers would help.

"I'm not entirely sure why I'm back," said Riley. "And I didn't know the Koopa was a Platoon member! I'm familiar with the group, of course, but he wasn't one of them when I fought them!"

"I need resources," said Riley. "My last facility is rubble and I can't exactly go to the bank and get a loan large enough to rebuild everything. My good friend Z-Naut tells me that you provide members of your Society with all the resources they need."
"This is true... as long as your activities are in the Society's best interests. Do you intend to restart the Happy Family? There is a cure for Grimace Gas that has been released to the public, of course."
"Of course," said Riley. "Don't worry about that cure. Penicillin doesn't work as well in this day and age because the one percent of viruses it didn't kill survived, and other viruses evolved to resist it. It's the same basic principle with the gas."
He wasn't actually sure of the science but figured he could find a way to make that statement work.

"Good to hear. You understand that you will be expected to share some of your own resources with the rest of the Society after you're up and running, and that includes possibly giving your fellow members shipments of Grimace Gas?"
"Huh, wonder what would happen if you combined War Gas and Grimace Gas..." remarks U-Naut, mostly to himself.

What he left out was 'over my dead body' or 'I'm not going to share this gas with you plebeians, you barely know how it works'. He figured that would be rude.

"Then if that is all... welcome to the Society of Evil Peoplez, brother!" exclaims Shatter, grabbing Riley's hand and shaking it. Z-Naut, U-Naut, and several X-Nauts all put on party hats and begin blowing streamers as balloons and confetti suddenly fall from the ceiling.
The confetti gets all up in Riley's hair as he shakes Shatter's hand. It's gonna take him forever to get out.
"Here's your induction present, pal: a copy of the Society's rules and regulations!" exclaims Z-Naut, handing Riley a book.
"Know that if you ever need the Society's services, come to Tropico." explains Shatter. "A haven for all criminals, revolutionaries, and madmen can be found there. Should the local authorities try to... question you, just tell them you are from the Society and all should go well. Just one final question: where exactly would you like your own base of operations?"

"I look forward to it," said Riley, taking the book. "As for location, I hold a special fondness for the Rusty Carnival..."
"Then the Rusty Carnival it shall be." says Shatter. "Come by there, and you will find your new lair complete. Now if you'll excuse me..."
Shatter heads back up the staircase, the SOEP Troopers saluting him as he leaves.
