"You call it con artistry, I call it payment. I'm a stunt-woman who needs a living, what can you expect?"

Description

Image

Name: Variel Reidevauner
Alibi: [ La Caméléon; having been first known in France, she was dubbed as "The Chameleon", a person who was able to become different people at any given moment. Variel is a sort of private detective/con-artist who specializes in undercover work and disguise. Variel prefers the term "stunt'wo'man", however, due to her taking on jobs that are pretty dangerous and fulfilling at the same time.
[ Camille - her most frequently used alias.
[ Various; See above for explanation for the many various aliases that she often works under.
Age: 24
Gender: Variel has settled on taking a Female identity, so let's just settle it there.

Appearance: With a short (she is 5'0") yet lean, incredibly skinny and petite body, it's quite easy for Variel to be able to take on so many different disguises, given that she has her materials to be able to fill in what her body cannot be. She is flat-chested with a tiny bum and moderately slim hips, leaving most to the eye that she takes on an androgynous form. With soft but small and tight muscles, most don't think that Variel is much of an opponent in a physical fight with such thin limbs. But she is quick and agile, and that is one of the most important key factors to understand when you should face her. But she is still a small, woman(?) whose strength is not very strong, so more overly stronger opponents often get to her. Scars from doing so many dangerous stunts that are very faint can be seen on a large portion of her body, but not in easily noticeable sight, such as on her arms and hands or neck and face.

Her most neutral and most seen form is that of a pale, ivory skinned female with an elegant beauty, despite how plain and easily forgotten her face can be, of absolutely no make-up (unlike what her disguises have), and big, child-like pale blue eyes, her birth color. She has very long, straight black hair that reaches past her back, which makes it a wonder as to how she hides all of that hair. (But, then again, there is debate that it may be another wig or just very professionally done extensions. Variel doesn't reveal her secrets.)

Personality: Despite the countless people and personalities that she has taken on, from being flamboyant and loud to a quiet, mousy character, what's left of what is Variel is not of much. Variel's true form is quite plain in comparison to what she may express easily in any other form, but in her neutral self, she is a quiet yet demanding and confident person who knows what she wants (despite how soft-spoken she would be) and is of high intelligence.

Variel doesn't have much of an opinion on anything, to be honest, and rather sees the world as her playground and audience for whenever she dresses up, seeing things like movies that she performs in, taking on any ideal that she has to when given in her new character. She is very flexible in personality, easy-going enough to be able to go with the flow of things, able to quickly change perspective and place in the situation if necessary. Variel is also observant, extremely. Always watching how other people react with facial expressions and how they use their gestures and postures, usually unconsciously and mirroring them with great precision, and making great conclusion, being able to profile others in a way that she uses for her characters.

Witty and quick-thinking, Variel is hard to see through and is hard to trick, given that she could change tactics as someone else at any given moment, and her motives and muses could only fit as to whatever person she will be. Having a calm and collected expression even in the most of hysterical of situations, Variel does not easily break under pressure. She has become adapted to be very disorganized in character, despite the neatness and OCD that she has developed over the years. Never will it be a moment when you could see her true face, because no one really knows just how to break that poker face(s). In this sense, Variel is like a ticking bomb, when you could never really know if she will explode, or if she's merely a dud.

Faction: (Private) Detective/Con-artist ("Stuntwoman!")

Bio: Variel is one of those "special cases", you see. (Concerning 'her' gender, at the very least.) No one really actually knows of her true origins, and Variel isn't really one to tell. Rumors float about, but what can be revealed is that Variel never knew of her parents, and had been raised with an actor and drag couple that was most likely the influence for her acting skills and professionalism that went beyond the "dressing up" phase. She took their surname along with her throughout her life.

As Variel got older, s/he took on a more feminine identity, as "females were easier to dress as," and went through various stages of cosplay, incognito and undercover work throughout her entire childhood and teenage years, gaining experience and skill. By the time that she was twenty-one, she could disguise herself as practically anyone, having gone through countless jobs here and there as a make-up artist 'in training', a fill-in actress, a long time committed cosplayer, etc. Variel underwent many different amounts of training to be able to do many feats, from dancing to parkour and familiarity to firearms, etc., to be able to play out any character. She is moderately skilled in each area, some more varying than others, but will make a lot of mistakes unless she undergoes more studying for a specific character.

She takes requests from anyone if the situation is interesting enough or if she's paid enough (for travel expenses and need for new material that depends on the character). (Blackmailing is another story, but she rarely allows such a thing to happen.) She has often set up as shop in the form much like that to a private detective business, strictly undercover jobs only, and usually cons her clients before disappearing or unless the case really interests her enough, she will actually do some detective work and then con her client. She disappeared off the face of the planet almost for good for about a year and a half before popping in Japan during this present time, and is currently enjoying her most recent payment after playing as a richman's daughter who passed away, ripping off more money than she needed. But, she has been taking interest in this 'Kira' persona, quite jealous and curious of this 'actor' (as she refers to as such) who is playing as such an interesting concept, and is taking her own time to actually investigate, probably out of fear for her own safety, using various connections.

Other: A well-suited art for a person such as she, Variel is a 3 Dan Black Belt in Aikido. She is able to speak English and French (From her childhood) fluently, but is having several troubles with Japanese, but is managing with an almost perfect (various) accent(s) on the language, while maintaining a slight French accent with several words. She is currently considering trying out other languages as well. She is a professional make-up artist and "stunt-woman", as she likes to refer to. She also has an eidetic memory, sight-wise - this has helped her with studying others, but has haunted her with what scenes she has taken to seeing often throughout her career.
Mostly underground businesses know of her, and several crazy urban legends have formed around her existence. She mainly tries to keep off the radar, however.

So begins...

The story so far.....

Dalton, a young man who picked up the fabled "Death Note", has begun killing. As a jest, he made up the figure "Kira". His first two victims rambled about "Lord Kira" and how disobeying him would prove fatal.

Now, the world's greatest detectives have been assigned to the case, the main of which being "Commotion." Commotion taunted Kira on a live broadcast all over Japan. Of course, that's why the public was told. Kira had a man taunt the detective before being hit by a bus, which meant that Commotion's plan was successful. The broadcast was actually only sent to Kumomi, Japan. Now the world knows which city Kira resides in.

Inconveniently, Dalton's house burned down, causing him to have to move into the "Hotel Sakura". When Dalton has a dream that inspires him to turn the world into his own "Heaven", he goes on the offensive. He meets Commotion, fact-to-face, but before he even realizes it, a man kills himself just outside the window. It's later reveal that there is another kira, one who wants to contact him. The problem is, he can't find a way to meet up with the other Kira without Commotion detecting it.

Will Dalton successfully evade capture, or will the world's finest be able to bring this so called "Murderer" to an ironic justice?

Variel was securing back the long, pink locks that she had dyed and styled earlier of a past two and a half hour in the morn', trying to maintain a natural look to it, and despite the obvious shade of pink that would make her stand out amongst the crowd of typical Japanese people who had dark hair and dark eyes, she merely smiled as she pulled on the hood jacket that she was wearing a bit more, and added more mascara to her lashes that framed the pair of vibrant blue contacts that she was wearing from the makeup bag that she carried on her at all times. Putting the mp3 player device in her manicured hands gently from her pockets as she did with placing the buds in her ears, Variel slightly adjusted her bangs.

Stepping back from the reflection of the mirror of someone's car, she greatly appreciated the final result after slightly fixing it up. "Well, Hiromi Tatsuke, you must keep up your appearance," she muttered, adjusting the black headband, "after all, it isn't in your character to appear so messy in public, is it?" Ignoring the way that passerby pedestrians stared at her oddly and miffed at how she was fixing up her appearance in public, using a car while in a busy part that led to the metro, and merely continued smiling as she headed on out further on the sidewalks. Despite the lack of music coming from her ear buds, she hummed a children's nursery rhyme in muffled French, seeing as she kept her lips tightly shut.

..Hiromi should be walking straighter. She adjusted her walking posture, and moved with a more confident gait, but was snapped out of her rapidly moving thoughts when the large screens and advertising boards that were placed throughout in an electronics store that she was about to pass by was suddenly tuning in to a different broadcast of a news castor woman (Dear Lord, her makeup's simply atrocious. 'Hiromi' thought to herself, keeping silent as the crowds of people slowed and stopped to what they were doing, watching with keen interest and crowded themselves around her.) "We're sorry to interrupt your scheduled program, but this is a message for all of Japan, and involves the investigation of the criminal known as 'Kira'." Just then the picture changed to a man sitting at a desk with a name plate in front of him, reading 'James C. Mueller'.

"Hello, my name is James C. Mueller, otherwise known as the detective 'Commotion'." The man said with complete seriousness.

What? This is 'Commotion? 'Hiromi' was temporarily forgotten as Variel slightly slouched into a more nature and more accustomed posture that she was used to as she slowly slipped from her acting facade, eyes firmly set on watching the television. Why would a world-renown that even I've heard of, appear on television himself? Surely, showing his face would give him a disadvantage, wouldn't it? She pondered, but another thought came along, voicing an opinion that was slightly more arrogant, he must have a very good incognito disguise, or a professional who does that for him. She folds her arms over close to her chest. ... But then again, that's a risk as well. She decides to stop thinking as she tries to catch the rest of whatever it was that the man who was appearing on the screen was saying.

"... over your head. I came here on television to tell you personally that I'm coming for you." Variel gave a sharp, inconspicuous grunt, breathing out air from her nose, head tilting upwards as she continued to watch. The man continues to speak in a justified matter, but then there's a moment of pause, and there's a faint sound of shouting from a distance away from here, but she isn't one of the few who turns to see what it was, or runs away to see what was going on some streets away. She's frowning slightly as she focuses deeply on the screen. There's no sound that's coming out when 'Commotion' tilts his head slightly and then says something. She's taken aback when the television's screen is suddenly switched to that of a white screen with the word COMMOTION across it. She blinks several times as the real Commotion is speaking through a filtered voice, and Variel watches in a slight awe.

From that crazy stunt, he was able to deduce that the killer's here in Kumomi? .. The man lives up to his namesake's reputation. She stands there briefly, trying to understand exactly what just happened as the television then changes to their regular programs, and people begin frantically talking or whispering to their companions, or just merely walk away in scatter emotions. It's several minutes before she too begins to walk away, slowly reversing back into her role as her spine straightens with every step and her her head is being held high. This world's really messed up with both gifted and crazy people.. Variel didn't want to admit that she felt slightly a bit of a hypocrite thinking that, but thinks nothing but of it as she continues her way home to her rented apartment. She doesn't feel very safe, but, then again, who did, in this current situation of the world? Kira must be one crazy guy as well..

(Feel like interacting with someone...)

"Well, I'm not letting this dude scare me, come, Panku! We shall engage in various activities! What will they be, you ask? I have no clue, but like I heard in a song once, everything gets hotter when the sun goes down!" he packed his wallet, MP3 and his Death Note into his pockets. His jeans had a zippable right pocket. This is where his Death Note usually lied.

After locking up, he left towards the city. It was about twenty minutes before he reached the city district. Hopefully, he'd find something to do. Occasionally, Commotion entered his mind, but that was shooed away after a few seconds. If he wanted, Dalton could stop bring "justice" and Commotion would never be able to find him. Though, that'd make him the winner, and Dalton wasn't going to have that.

He popped his earphones in one ear at a time before continuing on. Ironically, he just past the location where one of his "followers" had just been hit by a bus. There were a few cops around, trying to find evidence, but of course, they produced no results. Dalton laughed (in his head) at the fruitless search.

Countless minutes later, (Countless because Dalton wasn't paying much attention) he bumped into something or someone. A flash of pink was all Dalton saw as he fell back. "Oww..." he muttered before jumping on his feet. "Are you okay?" he asked. (I shouldn't have to tell you guys who I bumped into.)

((XD))

She had been deeply brooding in her thoughts, barely glancing at anything other than moving along to the familiar lure of her having gone down this very same street over and over again due to great habit once having been settled here in this district. However, Variel wasn't expecting to be so out of it that she's bump into someone, with a force strong enough to have her fall back, (Ah, 'Hiromi' would let out a small sound of surprise here, she subconsciously thought) and lets out a high-pitched cry of surprise, "wah!" Her arms fell up slightly, efficiently having her drop her mp3 player. She hears a slight crack when it hits the ground, and grunts as her bum hits concrete. She's rubbing her head a bit (thank goodness that she decided to dye it, because she wouldn't have thought of ensuring that a wig wouldn't come off, other than how she's be too hung up over how fake a wig would've looked.) before she looks up to the guy whom she ran into.

"Are you okay? He asks. (Hiromi should be pleasant here, and act as if it was nothing.)

"Oh, no, it's fine!" She laughs, speaking with fluency despite the light tone of an accent that was barely there unless you listened very carefully, as she was helping herself up. She appears taller than she should, due to the overall outfit of rolled up jeans and very thick wedge heels that gave her some extra height, bringing her up to a full 3 inches, though it wasn't much in terms of what seemed to be. 'Hiromi' looks at the stranger, looking over his very normal qualities but can immediately tell that he stands out, what with him having brown hair instead of the usual black that she sees. Though, it was messy, but he seemed pretty friendly, she supposes. She sparks an interest in him, but looks away as she stares at the broken musical device with a long crack in the screen for several moments. (It's okay, I didn't have any music in it anyway..)

She glances back up to the boy, a friendly smile on her expression. "I'm terribly sorry, I should've been watching where I was going," she laughs again, in a quite bubbly and cheerful manner, moving her arm to pull a strand of pink hair to be tucked behind her pieced ear. "Are you okay? Nothing hurt?"

"Why would you ask me that? I was the one who bumped into you!" his eyes surveyed her face. "I'm sorry, I was distracted. You didn't get hurt or anything, did you? I couldn't forgive myself if I hurt such a nice lady such as yourself!" he smiled warmly and dusted himself off.

Inside, he was thinking over a couple things, one of which was about who she was. Though she replied in a way that said she wasn't anybody of any importance, just some girl, if you will, her reactions were just a tad bit off. Not in tone, not her face, but there was the slightest delay about everything, as if she was thinking it through. There were two explanations to this, one was that she was really stupid, or the other was that she was really smart. He'll find out soon though....

Out of habit, she briefly slides a hand to lightly pat away once at imaginary dust off of her clothing, a slight flick in her eyes from moving between his hands to go back to his face, after observing subconsciously. (Stop it. You're beginning to lose her. ... 'Himori' should be likely to continue with the friendliness with casual talk before taking off.) "Oh, is that so?" Her right hand is brought to slightly cover her laugh, the other hanging almost loosely to the side of her opposing side's hip. "I didn't get hurt at all, but thank you for your concern." 'Himori' politely reassures, "but you'd have to forgive me, I've been told that I'm a bit of an airhead so.. " 'Himori' pauses, a slight frown is brought forward as she becomes slightly disturbed. ([i]No.. she wouldn't say that. She's too prideful and egotistic.)

This pause lasts for about a few seconds, the distant look disappearing before she becomes animated again, "please, allow me to take it as my fault." She bows forward, but then stops halfway through. 'Himori' makes a sound of epiphany, as if she remembered something important, "ah! You seem rather young, don't you? If you don't mind me asking," she clasps her hands together to the side of her face, friendly smile regained, "would you happen to be a university student, by any chance?" She develops a slightly hopeful expression with a twinge of having worried previously onto her expression. (I haven't thought of any sort of history behind her character just yet. Hopefully, adding detail taken from this man could help me out with developing a background further.. )

Noticing a longer pause, one that lasted a few seconds, Dalton was sure something was up. But what? "No, you're not an airhead, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, so the blame's on me." he kept his warm smile. "Don't you think you're over exerting your head a bit too much?" normally, he'd let a person keep their charade up, but after recent events, he needed to make certain that he effectively used his brain. He was playing a game, wasn't he?

"False smiles aren't smiles at all." he stated.

She intended to laugh modestly as he did as well, but stilled as he spoke with statements that would remove her reason with having to keep up the charade with him. 'Hiromi' stares at him in wide-eyed shock, and begins to erode away from the exterior as if afraid to continue answering back to this man, where Variel was venomously glaring at him deep inside, feeling insulted. No use in keeping up with 'Hiromi' then. Quickly, there is like a switch in her, and then takes on a more different aura about her as she rolls up her long sleeves and takes out a hairband to pull back her long hair into a ponytail to match the new persona. She smiles in a much different matter now, as if slightly strained and mildly upset, which was slightly true to how she truly felt. Her voice's tone changes from that of a bubbly personality to a more matured and even in soft-spoken pitch, "ah, I must apologize then." Moving and reassuring her posture to that of a more natural and straight posture instead of how amateurishly and stiffly 'Hiromi' stood, Variel changed into a new face. Completely, she transforms into that of a different person. " I didn't expect for anyone to be able to find me out so soon.."

She gestured her hand like that of a business greeting towards the man who, although was smiling in a seemingly kind manner, was really someone that she could much more cautious of. It's quite alright, 'Hiromi' was a prototype rough draft. "My name's Nurosawa Shizuka, aspiring rookie actress." A sheepish smile. It's easier to move when you're used to a specific character. "I'm so sorry that I had to intended to deceive you, but I was supposed to be playing this new part in an upcoming movie. It was a pretty big break for me." She takes on a forlorn and more distant look that showed of how hurt she seemed to have been found out so easily, covering up the deeper and darker emotions that would easily show more in her eyes in this state. Concealing her other hand into a jacket sleeve with the broken musical device, she continued to smile with a broken ego of both faces. "I guess that I need to try harder to improve my skills though.. Haha. I can't seem to lie properly in my acting." Such hypocrisy.

"You should try acting out at a mirror before trying it in public. You're pretty good, but the extra second in decision making makes it a breakable cover. When you act, you want to make sure you don't have another personality, because you shouldn't." while Dalton didn't act, he knew how to. Maybe he would later. Of course, just as any art; it takes time to master. Maybe Dalton would develop a new personality? Probably not. It would just seem suspicious.

He, after thinking a few things through, shook the ladie's hand. "I've been trained to read faces. Don't worry, both of your covers will trick most people." he grinned. "Well, sorry for bumping into you, though I can't say I regret meeting such a "Colorful" person."

She nodded with a smile as he gave her advice, while Variel was secretly boiling inside, and utterly insulted with each word that he gave her. Of course I understand that! There is no need to continue rubbing it in! Ah, perhaps she's beginning to develop her own personality throughout the multiple ones that she has gone through. 'Shizuka' tilted her head slightly at a very thin acute angle as he informed her of how exactly he was able to see through Hiromi, and did not falter as she did previously when he mentioned of what of 'two covers'. "Ahah, of course I cannot give you my actual name," she laughed, speaking hidden truth behind the words that were suppose to continue as her cover, "as an 'actress', I simply don't wish to give out my name carelessly, even if I am still just a rookie." Variel found his grin a bit unsettling. Anyone can make another personality. It's just a matter of how extreme and how far they take it. Though, colorful person? What was that suppose to mean?

She blinked rapidly in slight confusion when he began to sneeze multiple times, and pulled her hands into the jacket pockets. She murmured to herself, "I don't recall it being flu season just yet.." Pulling out a piece of tissue from a packet she carried on her from her slight OCD habit, 'Shizuka' offered it to the man. "Though, it was lovely to meet you too, er, I didn't catch your name?"

"Zach." he said casualy. He took the tissue, but didn't use it. "No, it's not flu season, someone must be talking about me." he said as he stretched his arms. "It doesn't matter to me whether or not I have your real name, but if you've a nickname, I'd be glad to accept that." his words were truthful. After all, he didn't know of any crimes committed by a beautiful women such as she, and he normally didn't kill women regardless.

Zach wasn't sure about this girl however. There were too many conflicting emotions between each thought she had to tell if she was actually the actor she said she was or if she was pulling yet another bluff. Naturally, his mind would tell him to default to a detective or a spy or some sort of undercover cop, but she hadn't tried to get any information from him that would suggest so. Though it ended up being irrelevant. Even if she were some sort of cop, she obviously wasn't looking for him, nor was she emitting any emotion that would suggest otherwise.

Commotion sat in front of his television for a few moments, contemplating what his next move should be. He put a cigarette to his lips, but instead of lighting it, he just chewed on the filter as he thought. The double doors to the room opened, and the smiling man known as 'Jake' entered. He was carrying a tray with two glasses of tea on it.

"Here you are, sir." Jake said and placed one of the cups on the coffee table in front of Commotion.

"Jake, what are you still doing up?" Commotion asked, seeing as how it was late, later than Jake usually stayed, up at least.

"Well, I figured you'd be in here." Jake said, still with a warm smile, "I figured that you may need help."

"Well, you're right about that. This case is going to be pretty difficult to do by our selves." Commotion said, then gave a sigh, "Well I guess it's time for us to acquire a team."

"I've already got a few in mind." Jake said, from under the tray he brought a folder out and put it next to Commotion's tea. Commotion opened the folder and began reading through it. "I have to say the team is a little... diverse, but-"

"It looks good." Commotion said decisively, "Are they all in Japan currently?"

"Yes. I made sure of that, it seems that a couple are already on the case."

"I can't wait to hear their theories." Commotion said, he stood up and walked over to his computer and began typing;

Hello,

I'm working on a case to catch the killer known as Kira. I need some of the sharpest minds in the world to help. You are one of the people I've chose to join me in this investigation. If you decide to accept, realize that you shall be working with a team of intellectuals, such as yourself. This case has the potential to get you killed. Remember; no one is forcing you to accept. If you accept, go to the hotel Sakura in Kumomi at 11:48 A.M. and ask for a package from Okabe. This package will contain a key for room 784 on the 9th floor, there will be a guard present to search and identify you.

-Commotion

P.S.- Regardless of if you except or not, destroy your computer.

On the coffee table it could be seen you's names were there; Ryan Huntington, Natsu Akiko, Extraordinaire, Variel Reidevanur, and Ling Chung.

Dalton was snapped out of his thought by the sound of his phone. "Sorry, let me take this." he said and without waiting for a response, he answered it.

"...This is he.....yeah....yes?.......no.....maybe so.....WHAT?!" he panicked and hung up the phone. "I'm terribly sorry, I'll have to speak to you some other time!" with that, he was off in haste.

(30 minutes later)

"No...." he dropped to his knees at the sight before him. Ashes were all that was left of his house. Apparently, "Faulty wiring" was to blame. A spark caught the carpet and the rest is history.

"Sir, we're sorry...." a firefighter mumbled before leaving.

"I am too...." he said, obviously in pain from the loss of his house.

(An hour and a few phone calls later...)

"Well. Looks like my new home's here." he said to no one really as he walked up to a hotel. Not just any hotel either, it was a rather luxurious one, not too famous, but it wasn't a cheap, run down hotel either. Compared to his house, it was a mansion. (In terms of overall appearance and commodities) "Hotel Sakura it is then..."

He walked up to the front desk and asked the employee there a question. "Hello, I was wondering where room..." he looked down at a paper with all his information on it. "....785 is?"

"Oh, that's on the nineth floor!" she said with a bit more enthusiasm than she should've. Well, better than none, right?

"Thank you very much!" he said as he turned towards the elevators.

(Nine floors later)

"783....784...785! There!" he nearly jumped at the sight of the room he was to stay in. He took his key and inserted it, twisting it counter-clockwise and unlocking the door. He revealed a beautiful room with a porch even. "Wow! This is better than my house!" he exclaimed. Since he had nothing to unpack, he simply shut the door and sat down on the soft couch, made of some material that Dalton's ass agreed with.

He flipped on the T.V. "Man's house burns down because of falty wiring. Who's to blame, the house or the man?" the reporter said.

"Your stupid face, asshole." he spoke to the reporter. "Not my fault that house was a piece of shit. Good thing I saved a bunch of money on my house insurance by switching to some form of insurance agency that was cheaper than my last..." After watching the news for a bit, Dalton drifted off into sleep. His eyes began to weigh and his mind went blank. He embraced his own darkness.

"The human who uses this Death Note can neither go to Heaven nor Hell"

This line. This simple, yet complicated line repeated in Dalton's head as he slept.

Zach? She let a pondering expression show. Well, he seemed foreign enough, but having such fluent Japanese.. She was about to answer his question when he had a sudden call, and then ran off to god-knows-where, apologizing and fare welling. "Must've been quite an emergency.. But," she paused, "how we would ever actually meet again would be quite a coincidence." She wasn't counting on meeting him ever again. His perceptive abilities brought her to many a disadvantage. That wasn't good. Variel had went home, and fell asleep, slightly confused about the day's events, and fell into a lure of sleep. She was awoken when her phone had finally managed to get through to her, having been beeping an obnoxious ringtone for a very long time, this shows on the screen that it had been doing that throughout her entire slumber, trying to tell her that she had gotten some sort of notification. Checking to see what it was (much to the phone's relief), and slightly panicked to the idea that someone could've known her number and trace her to many things, such as her apartment, a stupid move on her part, but opened it up to see that she had gotten some sort of email. She didn't own any other electronic device; they traced back too easily. ".. Curiouser and curiouser," she murmured in French, and opened up the little notification that read with blinking symbols (✉!) repeating itself over and over. Pressing some buttons before she could actually get into her email, she looked over the message, after a few seconds of reading it over, she dropped her phone out of pure shock. "What the.. ?" Her eyes rapidly darted over the message, over and over again. She finally lets it sink in, Variel is almost trembling in excitement.

".. Holy shit." She cursed, repeating it over and over as she turns her head quickly and rapidly to look at the clock. It's almost nine. She's ripping through her bedroom door and then slamming it behind her, sliding down against the wooden door as she's staring at the screen for a good 10 minutes before sliding back up, and then calmly, she places it on the table before walking into her bathroom to have a more appropriate attire. It takes about 38 minutes after she's done, completely redressed in new makeup, and a black blouse, tight jeans and high boots, adjusting how the temporarily black spray will make do until the pink fades out by itself and its blue flower ornament that will accompany the lack of contacts she wore. It was as close to her original appearance as it was going to get, and slid her hands through the choppy bits of her hair, trying to even it out on both sides. Staring at her mirror in the corridor, she sighs over how this famous detective, Commotion, could really cause a 'commotion' in people itself, more or less. She felt torn in a clutter of emotions, unsure as to how to act.

".. I must be really damn excited to meet the guy if I take this long." Variel continues in her mother language as she picks up the phone, scanning over the screen once more, before slamming it on the ground, smashing it into broken parts with what little strength a physically weak person such as herself and pair of high heeled boots can do, before taking up the pieces, and then putting it into a bag so she may place it into the incinerator once she gets outside and into the boiler room downstairs. Taking a quick look over again of her makeup, she vaguely stops any thoughts of whether or not she should've dressed as a man instead, but decides against it when she's already dressed. No need to do it over again. At least the hotel is around this area. After throwing the remains and various other pieces of useless trash along with it into the boiler room, she walks back out to cheerfully say good-bye to the manager, who doesn't notice her leaving.

The motorcycle that she has grown accustomed to (when one thinks of 'stuntwoman', one sees motorcycles after all) is being ignited and rode off as soon as she puts on her helmet. By the time she gets there, it'll be almost noon soon, approximately 10:09. Replaying the message in her mind over and over again, she goes and follows the instructions to every word. As she's riding the elevator and heading to the room, she's thinking over as to why she wants to catch Kira, and murmurs to herself as the only one int he elevator. "Not out of justice, but rather interest in his character, and self-interest." She laughs quietly. ".. How selfish of myself."

The elevator had malfunctioned while she had been riding in it, and once some minutes passed, (she checked the watch that she wrapped on her wrist. It read 11:09 AM. .. I'm definitely going to be late. I just know it. When it finally got to working again, Variel sighed, leaning against the wall as the contraption finally took her to the ninth floor, and followed the instructions to each word as she remembered from memory. She's going by to go and have her required search from a bodyguard, but stumbles upon a more interesting sight of a man roundhouse kicking another, more likely the bodyguard, judging by his size and structure, and observing the more crazy man who had just kicked the other into hitting the ground, laugh. I'm about to be late.. even if it's going to be at 11:48, and yet.. I don't feel too bad. Rather, this sight is.. more interesting. She slightly tilts her head to the side.

".. Erm, would I happen to be interrupting something?" She asks aloud, keeping a very monotone voice of much disinterest, contrary to what her expression showed. That crazy one looks familiar, though. "If you would please excuse me," she manages forward towards the two upon noticing the room that she was supposed to enter via this person. "I sort of needed this person to get inside.. unlike you." She's quite vague in her wording, but it's hard to tell much from the apathetic tone of her voice. "You know, it's quite rude to be attacking strangers in hotel corridors."

"How many roles do you have?" he asked in annoyance. It took a few seconds, but he saw through it. "Do you have a play everyday or what?" he smirked. Through her disguise, it was hard at first to see through, but again, his eyes failed him not. A big factor is that her face revealed too much stuff happening, something he had only seen with her, so it was distinctive.

He took a normal stance, instead of his basic fighting since it was obvious that this "bodyguard" if you could call him that, wasn't going to get up. He had the thought of manslaughter run across his mind for a brief second, but that quickly disappeared as he looked up at the girl.

"So what are you doin? Stalking me?" he jested before noticing an asian cowboy approaching them. "What the hell?" he thought, this guy was actually doing disguises right. His disguise was so obvious in that itself was a disguise, that no one would think it was. Brilliant, actually.

The smiling man opened the door that led out to the hallway to see the three figures; a boy who appeared in his late teens to early twenties, a young woman, and an Asian cowboy with a scar on his face. Finally he looked down to see an unconscious body guard. The sight of the man on the ground made the young man's brow furrow.

"Well, I told him to be careful of everyone and anything, but I didn't think that he'd attack a young man for no reason." He then surprisingly picked up the man, and held him on his back, "Come on everyone, the boss is waiting," He turned to look back at Dalton, "That includes you, young man."

"Well, I may or may not have tripped into him, and I guess he took it as an attack of some sort?" he said just before a yawn escaped his lips.

He then surprisingly picked up the man, and held him on his back, "Come on everyone, the boss is waiting," He turned to look back at Dalton, "That includes you, young man."

"Ok?...." he followed the man's instructions and took note of his unusual strength. As he walked in, he noticed three others were already in there. He looked around and noticed a chair, which he took without waiting for a go ahead. "So, you guys going to lock the door, and start chanting "Hail Kira!" or something...?" he had read online that there were already cults dedicated to him, and that they were frowned upon by the general public. This was surprising seeing as the speech he made the last victim of the Death Note had a big speech and everything, but it had only been a couple hours, not enough time to start a movement like that. He must've had cults since the third or fourth killing.

"....Because if you are, I don't want any part of it. So what is this? A party. You've got an asian cowboy, so you must be off to a good start." he jested.

((OOC: Ah, I can't help but find that Variel isn't as great of a disguise master as I make her out to be.. :|))

She merely had a smile, slightly irritated that he was able to find her so easily, having recovered from the slight shock that this was in fact, the very person that she met yesterday. "I wouldn't know what you're talking about, sir." She huffed, allowing such facial expressions to be expressed so freely while maintaining a very lifeless voice. "And by any chance," she placed a hand on her slim hips, "why would I want to stalk a stranger such as yourself out of all strangers?"

Variel wasn't able to be met with an answer before the door was opened by another man, and merely kept silent from how cocky this 'Zach' person was being. I didn't see the entire thing, but I'd say that something happened that's slightly more different from his story. She followed in after, nevertheless, not very fazed by how it must be surprising for the mysterious man to be able to pick up the much bulkier bodyguard. I'm not very physically strong like him, so there shouldn't be any reason to be too hung up on it. .. Though, I wasn't given the chance to be searched. Shame. Would've been very amusing.

Though, as she entered in, she paused slightly, eyes darting over each of the new occupants already in the room. Variel let herself become familiar with a wall, slightly a bit of a distance away from the rest of the group, watching and observing carefully each person, taking in each of their postures the smallest of gestures with a straight poker face as she kept a more withdrawn stance, crossing her arms over, close to herself. They were all so.. different from each other, she knew, at the very least, that much. She got several odd feelings from each of them, the most ominous from the one dressed up as a cowboy with a scar. Would I know of anyone who ever had a scar such as that? She shrugged off the feeling mentally.

As 'Zach' implied if whether or not this were some sort of Kira cult, she would've rolled her eyes, of all the atrocities. I'm not even sure if the real Commotion really did call us here. But, then again, I already destroyed that phone.. Variel made no comment, and only awaited for something more interesting to happen.

The smiling man let out a small chuckle, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but today is all business." He walked, still carrying the big man on his back and walked into a different room and shut the door behind him. After a few moments a different man walked out. He was tall and lean, he wasn't too muscular, but he was fairly toned; he had the body of a dancer. He had medium length, black, hair and deep blue eyes. He had a black suit on with a strange tie that, for some reason or another, had many different looking clocks on it.

The man gave a sheepish smile and said, "Uh, hello. I suppose introductions are in order. My name is Kenji Okabe. Now, if you all would be so kind as to give your names, we can get started." This tone wasn't natural for Commotion, in fact he usually spoke with a monotone (Or so he's been told). He just wants to see how good this new kid is at reading into people.
