STORY:

In the Year 2149, technology has advanced so far that people can have an inhuman power. It is embedded into their D.N.A. Along with such technology is a city that floats above the sea, the great city
of Éclos It is a Utopia, ruled by adults and lacking children.

Why does the city not have any children? Simple, They are the Illegal Generation

Children are not needed when you can automatically create an adult with the technology. Why deal with adolescent years, and drama when you can skip right ahead to have the perfect race.

So what happens to the children who already exist... they live below the sparkling city in a slum called

-PROJECT 21-

It’s a labyrinth of a town with high walls and a dome that closes over at night. It is an enclosed circle of very confusing highly patrolled streets. The children are NOT allowed freedom, they cannot see the outside world for themselves nor are they allowed to leave Project 21 under ANY circumstances.

The children all orphans abandoned by their parents to the military's experiments, they are prisoners, forced to do the bidding of the greedy adults. They are not allowed imaginations or Individuality.

Thus a war started between the children and adults. The adults laugh at the children’s idea of thinking they can beat them.

You will NEVER surpass us

What the adults didn’t know was that the children developed inhuman powers as well, maybe from the remains of the adult’s energy that would fall down from the city, or perhaps something else.

Do NOT underestimate us

However there were so few chances, even with power, the children could not counter the adults. They were forced into hiding. Then when a boy who somehow escaped ten years ago, returns the children may have found their savior.

They call him The Resistor or by his given name Shinon Noa , a boy with power over technology. His goal is to retrieve an item that was stolen from him by the adults of the main organization. But he needs the other children’s help in order to accomplish his goal

The children need him as well, but since he has other plans he’s not easy to convince. Can the power of the two of them working together defeat the “almighty” adults or will they all end up experiments and lose everything they worked for?
...
A few other concerns are
Why does the military keep them?

Who is the mysterious BOSS of the adults?

How did the resistor leave?

What is the thing that was stolen from him?

What would happen if the children got into the city?

....
And what happens when a Child becomes an adult?

INFO

Each child is gifted with one inhuman power as is each adult.

Though the children’s power is strictly mental while the adults is physical

(Example adult could start a fire by touching something; a child could start it by thinking the word fire)

We will need both children and adults for this RP

Anyone can be a child or adult/ You can have up to three characters!

”Psh, I didn’t think I insinuated that; and what were you going to try to do otherwise, shove his head into one of the gutters?”

"Maybe, but only if you replace my glorious flower with his own! Oh Lirri how heart broken I would be!" Liam put his hand over his heart and looked away from her in a sarcastic notion.

”I found it in one of the drainpipes like two and a half weeks ago while running another job. I’m surprised it still runs, and a little shocked no adult has come to claim it. I guess it’s just an excuse to go get a new one. I shined it up as much as I could once I found it and just stashed it away up here and kinda forgot about it.”

"Hm...interesting, well It's mine now as long as it's alright with you." Said Liam with a smile on his face as he twirled the pocket watch around his finger by the chain once again before slyly putting it in his pocket. "I personally am a large fan of pocket watches as they are small yet intricate, somewhat like writing. You know I've always wanted to just open a pocket watch up then try to re-create it by only using writings, I mean how would you describe all those gears interlocking and exchanging rhythms! Just imagine writing the clicks and chimes word by word oh how jo-" Liam's explaining was soon interrupted by Lirri's frantic movements.

Liam immediately began to take notice to these movements and kept his eyes focused on Lirri as if she was giving him some sort of hint. Quickly she changed into a fox before his eyes, each time she transformed it amazed Liam, yes of course he could turn air into a colossal rock a to where she seemed to be able to effortlessly transform regardless of her knowledge of the creature.

”There’s a storm coming, and it’s like nothing I’ve ever picked up before. Ah, gimme a moment, I’m gonna go make sure everything’s closed.”

Liam stood lonely and quiet as Lirri quickly ran throughout the house confirming the safety of the house before coming back to the storage room and sitting next to Liam. Confused, he simply sat down next to her and stared down at the floor completely unaware of what to do.

DEX

Dex thought Paun was a rather interesting girl. She seemed to space out more often than others. The act was sort of cute. He chuckled lightly as she squeaked when he had invited her in. He looked about outside before lightly closing the heavy door so as not to make a sound. He then turned and watched as she walked about his shop looking at his inventions. She didn’t have eyes of greed as most of his customers did. Instead her eyes were bright and interested. He chuckled at this too. Girls were such strange creatures.

She turned to him and with a wide smile, held out a basket full of bread and bread-like products. Bread, was not particularly one of his favorite things to eat, but he was in no way going to refuse her offer. That would be rude! Dex, was not rude. “Uh, I brought you some treats!” She squeaked. He chuckled again and lifted a hand to take them. Suddenly she jumped. At first, Dex didn’t know why. What? Did he smell bad? Was there a bug? Was she just that jittery? Dex had never spent much time with this particular girl, he eyed her questionably. It was then a gleam of metal reflected off another invention and he realized, his glove weapon was still released.

“Oh, Sorry abou’ tha’” He moved a hand over the glove, pushing the metal back into place so it would appear as a regular glove again. “Didn’ realize it was still released.” He chuckled with a grin that was convincing enough of his humbleness as he watched her place the basket on a desk.

He wondered why she went to such trouble to bring him that basket, when he never ate anything bread-like. Dex leaned upon another wall just watching as something caught the girl’s attention again. She gets distracted easily he thought as he observed her heading over to his desk where his current invention was sitting.

He lifted himself from the wall keeping a close watch. If this girl was as clumsy as he thought she was, she could be risking losing all the hard work on that particular invention. He wasn’t going to let that happen. He stepped up behind her, and she jumped. Dex threw out his hands catching her before she could topple something over. “How rude of me, just wandering about in your shop. I apologize! I’ll go now!” . Dex raised an eyebrow and watched amused as Paun rushed to the door. In truth he didn’t mind her there. He just wanted to make sure his inventions stayed safe.

Her suddenly trying to leave alarmed him and he thought he must appear rude. Thas no way to treat a lady Dex he told himself and turned to tell her she didn’t have to leave. As he walked forwards she suddenly froze, causing him to bump into her. He looked at her face, wondering what had caused her to stop and then, he followed her gaze.

Dark looming clouds, flashes of strangely coloured light in the air, Dex blinked and lifted his goggles to pull them over his eyes. He looked again. A purple and green vapour floated around his home. He didn’t know what it was but guessed. It must be highly toxic.

Dex leaned over Paun getting a close look. ” Tha’ isen’ normal” He said in a slight whisper with his eyes wide. There was no way he was gonna let someone, especially a lady go out in weather like that. He slipped a hand under her arm and lightly pulled her from the window.

“I dunno wha’ tha’ is but I sugges’ we stay far away from it aye?” Dex let Paun go and automatically went to a table and started searching frantically through a box. His hands pushed countless of his past inventions and spare parts around until finally he uncovered what he was looking for.

A cracked mirror with an antenna and a calculator attached. He took it to another table and began to press the buttons on the calculator. It was similar to a video phone and was a source of communicating with the other Children in Project 21. He adjusted the antenna and tapped at the glass, wondering if he would be able to get through to anyone to prove his theory right or wrong.

If he was right, all of Project 21, was engulfed in the same strange and hauntingly deadly storm.

Clementine

After waving to Cethin, the masked man stood silently at the events that had just happened before him. There wasn't much he could do or say, so he settled for a light remark.
"Phew, that was tense." Clementine shrugged, watching everyone make their way to the assignment hall either excitedly or in a bad way due to the recent argument.

He followed some far way behind those who made their way on foot (not exactly trusting Zero unless he surprised them all and crashed the train) and observed contently. Wanting to say something to Aramay, but not knowing what, Clem decided to leave her alone to brood on Ruukia's personal disturbance; after all he would prefer not to get caught in any drama that could possibly cause him to lose an eye or something of the sort.

Clementine was friendly. It was a fact that many knew about him, for he didn't go out of his way to cause trouble or make himself stand out to be known. He was a little bit older than those who stood around him but it wouldn't seem like it. His personality was light, content, amused or sometimes rather serious, and that's all he really put forward into groups or conversations. Silent, but not so silent to be noticed, Clem was a mysterious sort though not on purpose. However it was nice sometimes, he didn't die from disturbing the wrong person anyway (as he had seen so many do before).

Reaching the Assignment hall, the masked man could only ponder at the next job they had in store for them.

Mia

Mia wandered the streets, clutching a half finished project in her hand. She had been working most of the morning, but got lonely. She set out without even setting the unfinished shirt down, pulling a small, handmade cloth mask over her nose and mouth. She had to do something outside or she might have exploded from boredom. She walked slowly through the familiar streets near her home, not really doing anything other than people watching. She started getting hungry, but ignored it as she found a small market she had not know about before.

She eagerly went around looking at the various items for sale, talking to the children there, and answering and asking questions as she showed them the gown she was working on. Finally, Mia realized the time. She had to get home or she might not make it! The thought made her shudder.

She hurried away, trying her hardest not to get lost since she was in a mostly unfamiliar area. Finally, she found a familiar street and scurried off toward home. She anxiously checked her bracelet, making sure it had not gone off yet, then increased her pace slightly. Mia could not stand the thought of being caught away from where she needed to be. The scanners were never nice about that.

Suddenly, her bracelet went off, and she stared at it in horror. Not now! She was almost home, but it was still several blocks before she got there. Remembering something she saw some other kids doing earlier, Mia tucked the half-done garment in her belt and lifted herself onto a low roof, running across and jumping with perfect form to the next roof before jumping down to the next block and repeating the procedure on the other side. She covered several blocks within a minute, but the scanners were coming closer fast. She saw her warehouse up the street and ran for all she had.

Finally, she made it and pushed inside the door panting hard. Seconds later, the scanner passed by her and her bracelet shut down. She closed the door with a loud sigh as she sunk to the floor. That was enough excitement for the day. She slowly stood up, taking the dress from her belt and examining it closely. It was slightly dirty now and she had ripped it slightly, but nothing irreparable. She sat down at her work space and started again on it, soon losing track of the time.

Suddenly, she was jolted out of her focus by a loud clap of thunder that seemed to explode right over her house. She screamed and jumped, running to the door and flinging it open with tears streaming down her face. Terrible dark clouds roiled overhead, noxious fumes swirling in the air. The entirety of Project 21 looked like it was trapped in a giant smoke cloud. Mia pulled her mask over her face, a flimsy protection from the bad air, but far better than nothing, and darted into the street, running with all her might toward Daize's tent.

She quickly arrived, only to find that Daize was not even there. She began sobbing as she looked out again at the ominous sky. She couldn't be alone, she would be to scared! But where could she go? She knocked on a couple other doors with no response before she came to Angela's tower. She had met the girl a couple times, but did not know her well.

Desperate, Mia pounded on the door and waited. She impulsively tried the door and found it open, much to her relief. She hurried in and slammed it behind her, still sobbing as she stared at the winding stairs before her. Before she could debate whether or not to go up, another clap of thunder hit, causing her to yelp once more. Without any more hesitation, she bolted up the stairs. She soon arrived at a white door, huffing and sobbing. She took a couple breaths to calm herself before raising her fist and knocking loudly.

"A... Angela?" She knocked again, and said in a slightly louder, clearly panicked. "Angela, can I come in? Please!" Thunder struck again and she shrieked, collapsing to her knees with her head against the door as she cried with gasping sobs. Her whole body shook as she wept with terror.

DAIZE

Daize loved performing, but she loved her friend more. She hated seeing people sad, for Angela it was normal. It didn’t stop Daize from trying though. She danced about on the ball juggling as Angela finally looked up. "What do you want, Daize? I'm not in the mood for hanging out right now", Anglea said. Daize continued to juggle, attempting a particularly hard trick with them as she stared at Angela. The white haired girl had looked back down and squeezed the bear she held tightly. Daize didn’t particularly like the bear, in fact it creeped her out. There weren’t even sights at the circus that were as scary as the tattered bear her friend owned. "I just need to be alone for a bit, I guess..." Angela sighed loudly.

Daize shook her head and continued juggling, tossing the balls higher and higher. Her smile didn’t vanish from her face. “Nonsensical silly!! Being alone is never fun! Why do that when you can play with friends, jump dance laugh and run?!!” She rhymed again, wondering what had upset Angela this time. Most usually it was her brother, or lack thereof. That was their connection, well the main one. Daize and Angela had both lost their brother as a result of the war.

For Angela it must have been harder, since she could actually remember him. All of the balls fell to the ground around them and Daize stopped running on the other one. Suddenly, Angela glanced up with a small, weak smile. "Why'd you come here, Daize...?" she asked. Daize’s wide eyes softened and she sat down on the ball she had been balancing on. She smiled softly. “I was worried about you when I saw the scanners pass by. I don’t want my best friend being taken away you know. Everyone needs someone by their side, so they can smile for a moment even if it hurts to.”
She smiled again with compassion and care for the younger girl.

The moment was interrupted by a pounding sound below them. Daize jumped up panicked and her eyes darted to the door. Was it an Adult? It couldn’t be… Daize ushered Angela to get out of the open and approached the door quietly. The pounding had subsided, but whoever it was had rushed up the stairs and now stood behind the door gasping for breath. Surely an Adult wouldn’t need to catch their breath. "A... Angela?" A voice cried from behind It and Daize relaxed, recognizing the voice. “Angela, can I come in? Please!". Daize took another step forward and pulled the door open as a clap of thunder erupted from the window in the room. She froze and glanced at it once before looking back at the crumpled form of Mia, the seamstress who lived in the warehouse close to her tent.

Wordlessly, she helped the girl to her feet and hugged her tightly. “There there, you’re safe now.” Daize said as she pulled her into the room and pushed the door shut. She glanced to where she had told Angela to go and motioned for Mia to go there as well. Then with another clap of thunder outside Daize walked close to the window and glanced out. It was the oddest thing she had ever seen. A cloud of darkness was closing over them, almost as if it were night-time. It spread, and enveloped them like a thin sheet of plastic wrap being stretched over a bowl, the bowl being Project 21.

Mixed within the purple gray cloud sheet, were flashes of colour. At first, it seemed to be lightning, but there were too many variations of colour. Daize gasped and then covered her mouth. A horrid fume was drifting through the air, suffocating and probably toxic. She leapt back and slammed the window shut barring the three from the danger.

She turned back to face the girls coughing a few times, her throat was burning. There was something going on, something was happening. She had a strange feeling it had nothing to do with Adults this time.

Energy and light met and ricocheted off each other in displays of colourful electricity. It sparked dangerously as it shot around the purple and silvery gray haze. As the light and energy and light smacked against each other again, it shot off in different directions branching out into different colors and disappeared into the distance. Lightning traced the walls of a metal dome, containing it within the enclosure of the large circular area. It ran down the sides and spun rays of multicoloured light downwards to the town below.

Energy crackled and gave off intense heat as it mixed with the moisture in the air. Chemical’s reacted with the strikes of lightning and created a vapour that was toxic and a pale green color. The purple electrified haze spread across the area engulfing it in sharp electric waves. It seemed as the whole place was trapped inside the center of a live jellyfish. As the energy hit against the sides of the metal encasement a loud sound erupted, sounding very close to thunder. It was a booming loud crackling sound that bounced around the circular town, sounding louder in some places and quieter in others.

The western hemisphere consisting of a lake and a metal mound resisting on the edge of dock seemed to be lit up, with the electricity mixing with the water. Sparks licked up the sides of the metal Shop. The mechanical enhancements of the area were set off, and shot down the metal street. The town beyond that got a mix of toxic gas, and rain from the connection with the lake. It fogged up the windows of the Bakery A little ways away, in an area closer to the exact center of the circular area, colourful light zapped against the glass of a house covered in vegetation. It wasn’t strong enough to break it, but the sound it emitted was terrible and loud. The lightning that hit the plants caused them to shrivel up. The Greenhouse was only safe on the inside.

Beyond that to the south, the toxic vapour was weaker as it floated down an abandoned and ruined Street. The worn down houses were surrounded by an invisible and weaker form of the gas, and the colourful energy shot branch like over the walls, almost as if tracing the lines of a circuit. The Newspaper Booth was no exception. Similar electrical surges erupted through the town’s uninhabited areas and other streets.

At the far east of the town far from the other places the top of the hill was getting most of the fumes from the toxic vapour, TheTower there was heavily hidden within it, the color now a dark green. The Warehouse and Tent were no different, being so close to the height of the hill.

The jolts of light continued down the sides of the dome and shot back up, gathering in the center of the town, suspended high above a long forgotten Church. It created a large ball of energy that continued to zap with multicoloured light. There, thevapor was pushed away as the energy ball began to pulse, sending waves of electricity and a sharp ringing sound, slicing through the air.

The entire town would hear it. Hours passed as the energy ball continued to grow and slowly the colors and lightning around the town had dispersed then gathered in the center. The fumes of toxic vapor faded, to an almost nothing, including at the peak of the hill. The sky turned into a pale shade of purple as the energy ball grew even larger. The light shining off it brightened the town, as if it was a bright sun, yet it was an eerie pale shade of green.

Then as the last bit of multi colored light came back and joined the glowing orb a beam of light shot down into the precise center of the town. It was neon green in color and sparked with a large shield of sparking light energy.

Zzzzzzzaaaaaaap~

And then all at once everything vanished. The “storm” was over. The purple sky faded back to the darkness of 2:45 A.M. The town was back to normal, with all the usual defaults. If people had been able to sleep through the “storm” they wouldn’t have known it had happened. There was only one change.

Lying on the ground buried in the flowers of a rundown church, below a large gaping hole in the ceiling was a pale, pale boy. Teal colored hair spilled over his face as he lay almost deathly still on the ground. His silver and purple clothing seemed to be made of a metallic cloth, unheard of to the Children of Project 21. Upon his head was a pair of black head phones with lights that flickered on and off. A purple sheet of plastic or glass stretched from one headphone to the other making a visor over the boys closed eyes. His entire body sparked with the electricity of the “storm”, a multicoloured circuit running over his skin.

Zzzzzzzaaaaaaap~

MELODY OVERBROOK

The air hung cool and sticky as the small girl made her way to the center of the Amphitheater. It was late afternoon, nearly twilight as she walked precariously over loose stones and bricks, heavy guitar in hand. This was her favorite time of day, as well as her favorite type of weather, too. Everything seemed washed clean by the cloudy storm that had passed just hours before. It seemed to her as if everything touched by the rain got a second chance; a new start.

The girl's name was Melody Overbrook. She was only 15, so of course she lived in Project 21. Despite her age, though, she lived alone, with responsibility weighing down on her like boulders strapped to her neck. She was quite small, as fifteen year olds went. She was about 5'3", and very petite, thanks to Project 21's nutritional plan. Among her talents, scavenging wasn't the best; but she was getting better.

Her scuffed black school shoes slid on wet stone as she fought to catch her balance, the heavy object in her right hand giving her the counterweight to pull herself right again. Melody tried to...preserve things the best she could. Her old school uniform-a plain white blouse, black skirt, scarf and shoes-was going on three years now. The fact that she behaved and didn't grow much benefited matters. Back in her small one-roomed living assignment, the shelves were lined with many things; items found on the street, in the park, at the amphitheater. Things that gave her happy memories. She wanted to keep those as long as possible. The oldest memory though, she carried with her every where. Her old guitar, sitting in its worn case, gave her happy memories. Even though she could remember none before she was two, she made most of them up.

She knew her mother and father loved to sing. They'd sing to her so often she can still remember one of their songs. Only one. But still, one nonetheless. She played it every day when she got to the amphitheater. Its words, burned into her memory.
She climbed up the ancient stone steps, and onto the stage, looking over the rows and rows of seats. Nobody came here anymore; they thought it was old and nasty. With all due respect, she'd like to tell them, ALL of Project 21 is old nasty.

She took out her instrument and closed the case, which she then used as a makeshift seat. She hums for a while to warm up her voice, eyes focused on a Raven pecking at the ground a few yards away. Then, she placed her fingers at pre-determined places on the fret-board, pressing down on the thin metal cables.
She took in a deep, shaky breath.

Then

her voice flows

like silk.

She always had to remind herself that there was nobody here, there was nobody watching. As far as children's talents go, her's was quite unusual. She had to be careful not to accidentally transmit emotions to someone else. She sang louder this time, her strums and picks becoming more confident, her voice stronger. She started her evening like always; the oldest song she's known. As she got older, she understood what it was truly about, and although it was quite morbid for a newborn, she like it. She strummed the intro and began singing.

Another day, another life
passes by just like mine
it's not complicated

Another mind, another soul
another body to grow old
it's not complicated

Do you ever wonder
if the stars shine out for you?

Float down, like Autumn Leaves
and hush, now, close your eyes before the sleep
And we're miles away, from yesterday
when you were here with me...*

She sings, and ravishes the song, which is by far her favorite. Of course she's written and preformed many for the younger children, but this song? It's special. Beyond special. The only person alive who's ever heard it is her. She sings for a few more minutes, and then takes a break. She stretches her arms and looks up; something catches her eye. Right above the stage is a golden, glowing light, bright and warm. This strikes her a strange, because there aren't any street-lights onstage, and the few that they DO have are very dim.

It's past dark; almost curfew. She starts to get up to pack up and head home, but the light holds her there. It's like she's hypnotized or something. Although she may LOOK dazed, she was acutely aware of her surroundings. She wind shifted, blowing colder air to her back, pushing her towards it. Her black hair swung in front of her. Her arms began to shake and her palms began to sweat.

She didn't know if this was good, or bad.

What is going on?
***Okay, so, this was my first post, and yes, i used Autumn Leaves by Ed Sheeran bc I love him. Hope you guys liked it!

DANIELLE LEIBER

Dani just stood and watched as everyone else interacted with each other. Some of them seemed immature most of the time while others just had their moments of playfulness. Both annoyed and interested he and she wanted no part in their means of amusement and play. Dani preferred to be unnoticed.

She watched as Ruukia pissed Aramay off. It didn't surprise Dani. The girl was practically begging for it. Well, there was more that she was begging for, but Dani preferred to ignore that. It seemed to be the play of a few others.

Dani didn't dislike anyone. She just found that certain aspects of one's personality would not agree with her own and would not be a suitable friend for Dani. For example, Dani could never enjoy the way Ruukia played with others. The constant teasing and playful energy she seemed to always have would be too much for Dani. Aramay appeared to be someone Dani may enjoy being around every once in a while, but she had too much of a temper for Dani's comfort. As for Zero, he always seemed to take pride in his silly ability. It was nice to have him around to keep things from being boring, the others provided the same, but his pride would be a conflict with Dani. Luther seemed to have something about him that was more controlled and he seemed to keep a bit more to himself rather than share his every thought with everyone else. Dani admired that trait. She also admired the way Anna interacted with the others. Cethin was okay to her.

The adults in the room were instructed to meet in the Assignment Hall. Dani stood in place until the others began to leave. She did not want to move near anyone and cause them to notice her. She was enjoying the ability to observe the others around her before she would have to interact with them. Once a few of them were on their way to the Assignment Hall, Dani started her walk there.

Aramay found herself blocking out what was happening around her. More accurately she was still seething about Ruukia and being out in the bright sun was really starting to get to her. She was still alert enough to avoid the oncoming train that barreled through the training grounds but other than that she seemed to be inaudibly mumbling to herself and taking her time to reach the Assignment Hall. Her eyes squinted in irritation as she veered towards the shadows to take some of the strain off of her pupils. She found herself acting more irritable and dare we say, rabid under the sun. The extra exertion, from the spat was what did it. In her mind the issue was still left unresolved but for now she just wanted a cool bit of shade to calm her nerves.

The Assignment Hall appeared, locked. That's what she gathered when she noticed that the people who were already at the door were still standing outside. A subtle growl filled her throat. Sure she at least didn't rush to wait but her patience was already halved. She stood partially hunched forward with her back to the sun staring down nothing in particular. Occasionally she would twitch with a sense of discomfort. She would only break her near statue still stance to stretch or yawn, putting an attack dog to shame showing a glimpse of a maw full of razor sharp teeth.

Melody quickly walked down the streets, clutching her bracelet. Part of her concentration was focused on getting back to her home, but most of it was still at The Amphitheater, where the strange light-phenomena was still left unexplained. What was it? Was it the Adults? Or maybe some of the other children, just being facetious? Or was it something different entirely? Whatever it was, Melody didn’t have time to think about it, for her bracelet went off. She could already hear the Scanners approaching. Heavy guitar in hand, she began to run for her apartment.

Her shoes slipping on the wet stone, she nearly slid by her door. She flung it open and ran up the stairs, and didn’t stop till she made it into her apartment, not realizing that her bracelet had already gone quiet. She pressed her back against the door until she heard the mechanical whirring of the scanners fade. When they did, she slowly stood up. This was nearly the third time she’d almost got caught this month, which was not good. Either she was getting braver, or they were.

When she fully relaxed, she let herself peek out the window at the streets below. There were a couple of brave children walking, after the scanners had passed. The sky was now completely dark, though, except for the dull ring of light above their heads all the time. Eclòs was their moon. The light from house windows made the wet streets visible, so at least you could see. Melody decided that she was the braver one, and went outside. The people already on the street gave her comfort and assurance that this was a normal thing to do.

She sat on her front step, put her chin in the hands, and began to think. Did people always live like this? Adults and children? Why did adults even have children if they knew they’d just be sent here, only to be looked after by those who were just as old as they were? What had the children done wrong? Melody had heard a story once; about the child they called the Resistor. Was he trying to stop all this? Could he, all by himself? Melody thought about the idea of living in an equal world, where children and their own parents could live in peace, and the idea sounded appealing. Melody knew what she was doing tomorrow.

The next morning, she walked with shaking hands up to the newspaper booth. ‘What am I getting into?’ she thought. She reached forward and knocked on the door. It opened to reveal Liam Chase, the journalist and record keeper. “Hi,” he said. “Hi,” Melody said back. “I need you to tell me everything you know about the Resisitor.”

ZERO

As the Train shot past the station, Zero let go of the pole he'd been hanging on to and threw himself off of the train, sailing through the air above the others at the Assembly Hall and stopping midair. He floated there, his face deeply shadowed as he floated in front of the sun and stared down at the others, a smile slowly spreading across his face. Zero smiled, slowly dropping down to the ground and looking around with a large smirk. "Lovely weather, isn't it~?". He tipped his hat slightly, causing shadows to cover his eyes, which were darting around everywhere. "I do wonder what lovely playtime we'll get today, don't any of you~?". Zero's smile said it all, and the flesh that Aramay had scratched earlier seemed like it had never even been touched.

Inside, Zero smiled. Everything was going just as he planned, and nobody expected a thing.

Danielle arrived at the Assignment Hall in time to see Zero floating above the others, and now her as well. She looked at the others to see what they were doing and then looked back at Zero as he descended. "Lovely weather, isn't it~?" Dani just glanced at the sky for a moment in reaction. "What a weirdo....." Danielle muttered to herself. She watched Zero, finding him to be slightly unpredictable. His wild eyes seemed to be wildly searching his audience. "I do wonder what lovely playtime we'll get today, don't any of you~?" The guy appeared as a lunatic to Danielle. She turned and looked away. If I don't make eye contact, maybe he won't bother me....
