Military Resource Meeting,
Room 432,
Hisoal Building,
North side,
Griasfrask,
Casgrax II

"When do we move the new Sector system into effect in this area?" Admiral of the Battlefleet Reiter, Nicole Reinhardt snapped, staring out the window as she stood next the the dirty thing. It needed cleaned, as did some of the staff in this building; Well actually, in this room, a few could do with a shower, of blasting. She turned around in her smart light blue uniform, boots gleaming in the dim light room as she glanced around at each of the members at the table, "This is something we need to do now. We have these new Nations appearing at our door, and sooner or later, they will end up attacking us. We need to get Parliament to give us more funding for new fighters and battleships, as well as tanks and weapons. We have to do something now before that something happens."

She blinked, turning back around to look over the city of Griasfrask, her left hand twitching, a common thing for her when she was in a meeting like this. She had every reason it express her feelings to this Military board. It would then be taken up in the next mass Parliament, but that wouldn't matter if the enemy that was sitting at the Cybran Nation's boarders attacked. They would be forced to fight back with the full might of the Cybran Nation. Pulling her hair into the neat bun again, she swallowed, pointing to the computer screen showing simulations of any fighting that would take place, "We have sat here long ago talking about this and nothing has been done. We need to take it up in Parliament, understand?"

Admiral Therodore Starship nodded, putting his data sheet on the table. "The new sector system is being put into effect at the end of the month, Ma'am. There is a mass group of new Dreadnoughts being built, the Rhineland Class. They will have new weapons systems and weaponry as well as all the other things that we need to create a force of Dreadnoughts, but they will be deployed in the groups and Battlefleets they are needed in." The battle hardened Admiral stated as he rubbed his forehead. Sitting down in his seat, he looked at the other members of the board, whom, just simply nodded in agreement. His right hand moved down into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small box of tablets, for the sharp pain now hitting his head. The box was soon set on the table as he moved his hands to pull the metal tray out and popped a tablet into his mouth.

He swallowed the pill, watching the rest of the table carefully, “Unless the Waffen FS want to provide something to help the ever pending situation?” He eyes went straight to Supreme Commander Ingualt Rooseavet, sitting smartly in his black uniform, without saying a word throughout the meeting.

“I suppose it can happen, the Fourth FS fleet has just came out of repairs, the HDS Nichtjager will be ready and moved towards the border within a few days, the repairs are not fully complete and the ship needs a major uplift in terms of technology and weapon systems. There is not a lot I can do in order to speed this process up,” He paused for a second, his left hand wrapping around the icy cold glass of water. “I am willing to prepare the forty-eighth Waffen FS fleet into position, along with the One-thousand-and-fourth tank division onto the local battlestation, which I believe is also being upgraded in these times of peace, if the Peace goes on for much longer all the Military and fighting forces will be degraded. “

Rooseavet got to his feet sipping the glass of cold water, “Unless we prove that we still need this military force, we will be made redundant.” His eyes glanced over to Reinhardt before back down to the glass. He shook it around to mix the last of the ice and the water, “We could attack one of the smaller Nations in the outer systems of the galaxy. We could claim they attacked us, then we have the right to make a full scale invasion; yes?”

The lights flickered as another member spoke up, General Notterburg, “That would show them, but the other way to do this is by making explosions on the closest planets to parliament, then the Government will have to give up more supplies.”

“Why are we talking about this?” Snapped a younger military economist, Adolf Nighdale, “We have enough money and enough weaponry to force any nation to its knees. We would have enough money in three Cybran Years to update the forces we have. It is not all about numbers, and if it is, we would still win any battle. Our men and women are well trained and well equipped. We don’t need to add more money into the mass forces. All we have to do is pour it into research, which we can see going on around us right now. This planet is the most scientific planet within most of the Cybran Nation. It is all just a matter of updating the forces we have; yes?”

Reinhardt snapped around, nodding, “For once I think I have heard a good idea. The Navy needs to update and install new technology into the ships, not create wave after wave of new ships. The Rhineland class should be the last of the dreadnoughts that we build, even though we do have enough resources in the Industrial planets to build thousands more; do we not?” She smiled, rubbing his eyebrow as she moved forwards towards the table, watching the other members with a close eye. ‘This might work,’ she thought to herself, smirking. “Yes, I say it is time we done this.”

Rooseavet swallowed, “I will do the same with the Waffen FS, this should be very interesting to see the end result.”

Lillian listened, looking around the room. It was true, troubled times had descended on them from nowhere. Most didn't know, the citizenry wasn't entirely aware it was certain. Even if everyone was blindfolded, someone still had to turn on a light. Scribbling in her notebook, Lillian continued to listen.

Her dark uniform wasn't a reflection of these times, but a simple and humbling reminder to place duty and honor first. Lillian was always prim and neat, never fidgeting, always straight backed. Somehow she wasn't as much a tight wad as some. Still, truths had been spoken. Lillian crossed and recrossed her legs at the thought of war. Though war was good for the economy, that was about all it was good for. Nobody else seemed to think this way, which is why she supposed she was here. As the Senior MP of the Cybran High Council, her opinion was valued and respected. Though she sat quietly, under the radar with a poker face, Lillian's mind whirled.

So much weaponry... Lillian only nodded once, in acknowledgement not agreement, as the Admiral spoke. They were gearing up for war it seemed, was it all necessary? They were speaking of planted attacks, of true battle. Lillian frowned from where she was. They were at risk it was certain, but they did themselves no good by sticking themselves in the radar like they were planning on doing!

Suddenly, someone spoke up. A military economist? Speaking of updating and enhancing instead of expanding, research...Lillian nodded.

"Update, improve," Lillian folded her hands on the table before her, "A sound plan if any." She nodded, leaning back before continuing on.

"How is the citizenry receiving these movements?" Lillian asked the room. It was then Supreme Commander entered and crossed to her. She swallowed her surprise.

"Yes?"

The Supreme Commander swallowed, holding his head, "The Civilians, always a point for the Cybran High Council to stop our plans." He snapped, looking up at Lillian. Was there a point in having a member of the High Council here? Yes; she may be a member but to him that didn't mean anything. He was military leader, one that was not meant to be held back by a High Council Member. His eyes glanced to the rest of the military leaders, as well as the economist and Alexander Wulan - another member of the High Council. Rooseavet himself knew that they would probably try and tell the High Council to pay them off, something none of them wanted. "The Civilians receive enough money as it is, starting a war would boost the fecking economy."

Reinhardt looked over at him, "Ingualt, please." She leaned back against the wall, hoping for some reason to get him out the room. "What was that you were talking about the other day? A mass space station? Other Nations?"

She swallowed, holding her leather gloved hands together, "I'm sure there was something you said about other nations and some peace conference?"

"What? You want to trade with other Nations? We can not do that." Rooseavet snapped, "You were there yourself with the encounters with that small ship. You took it to that battlestation. Where was the logic in that?"

Alexander Wulan sighed, looking over at Lillian, "The point in us being here?"

"Peace conference?" Lillian chirped up.

It was all fine and dandy that they wanted to play defense and weapon. She saw no real harm in that, and let them spend their money where they would. However, turning down an opportunity for a peace conference why even a grunt would see the benefits!

"A peace conference would be the wisest of options, as well as this military upgrade and other defensive re positioning of," She waved a hand, meaning to say all the words she didn't know how to say. Lillian looked from Alexander to Roosavet, keeping her gaze steady.

Rooseavet swallowed, looking over at her, "It is far too late to get a small cruiser across into another galaxy, to go to this. I don't want us to turn up late with just a singer cruiser to show us off. We will look like complete idiots. No, I could try and get trade with the people of Mezz but we do not have an understand of how the people in the other galaxies work, which is why I'm not willing to send anything over until we have a trade link with the people of the system of Mezz. Even trying to deploy forces from the Battlestation Raven Herz would reach it far too late."

Alexander nodded carefully, "I see your point, but that does not mean we could show up with the finest ships in the whole Navy. It does not matter if you are late to appear at a meeting, we could receive an understanding and set up trade links with the other Nations." He smiled softly, lifting his bottle of water to his lips.

The Military Economist nodded, "That would create a way of giving away far outdated weapons to another Nation, in return for resources to upgrade the Military power that we already have. The Civilians would be able to work and maybe go on holidays outside the Nation's borders."

General Notterburg, the old man that he was shook his head in disbelief, "You are willing to create alliances with Nations that could just use us? Look at the wars with the Aeon and UEF, we did something about that before, creating alliances. They failed."

There are many wrecks looming in the void of space, many hulks with sad and dark pasts. Somehow against the odds many of these ships manage to find themselves almost drawn to places where their unliving brethren come to die and rot, their outsides slowly melting away as chunks of stray asteroid slam into them or other derelict ships meld together through their collisions. In these dark regions of space the strays of the galaxy find themselves lot to time, their insides both deadly and a reward that far far too many will take the risk for in the slim hopes that they will gain something far beyond belief.

In one particularly dense expanse of the Downs lurks just one such lone vessel, abandoned and adrift for over three long years, the bulky and once proudly red hull of a now twisted and misshapen Cybran frigate lays adrift. Where once powerful cannons loomed out from the thick hull now only twisted chunks of metal have been torn apart by its long slumber in the minefield of the ships graveyard. Where sensors would have seen incoming dangers, now these dangers were embedded with the hull itself, chunks of other ships were now wedged into the square prow of the ship, the start of a hulk was beginning to form around this chaotic danger.

How the Cybran ship came to find itself drifting in the middle of a graveyard isn't exactly the greatest mystery, the proud and warlike Cybran were heavily reliant of their machines and trusted them to serve them faithfully. So it never crossed their minds that one could turn against them or malfunction, and yet this is exactly what had happened on this particular vessel. Through some quirk of fate the ships computer somehow managed to misidentify its Cybran crew as a swarm of hostile life forms and the machines of war that should have served them began to slaughter them. In the chaos the ships computer was destroyed, saving the remaining crew from a quick death only for them to realise that now they had no way to control the life support, or the engines or even the escape pods. In short they had doomed themselves to a slow death as the oxygen ran dry. This dead vessel became a tomb.

And so, littered with the dead and the ravages of battle and devoid of air this ship drifts, picking up damage as the years slip by. But this tomb holds hidden treasures, for the Cybran were masters of Artificial Intelligence, when it didn't break its own programming, and often held many of these beings in spare databases ready for their eventual use, shackled to do one purpose so that they would not become fully living beings. In this lost vessel perhaps someone ambitious enough could manage to discover just one such lone A.I.

A portal from the warp torn asunder sending a massive hunk of metal and pain blasting through Jarrako Downs. The mighty Ship once full of life now shared her history with several thousand warbirds and what could even be called parts of missing vessels throughout the ages. Its own ware and tare was so evident that aboard what could be simply called a run down and beaten bridge of the primary hulking mass stood a large woman in purple and under a massive hat.

"Find it. Collect it. Bring it to the light of day and allow it to grow."

The strange witch simple smiled as she turned to look upon the workings of a makeshift alter and a few scattered bones across a bloody and bronzed table. What life she had taken earlier was not clear though a simple smile suddenly turned malicious as she took up a crystal ball and created a portal beside her.

"I have found it indeed." Forna muttered as she stepped through the portal only to suddenly appear upon the derelict Cybran ship sending a rush of air from her end. Her eyes trailed to the old bones that layed about at her feet bellow and so the story began to unfold. She knelt down and took up one of the skulls only to place warm lips upon the old bone whilst wishing old life to return once more. It was when she felt the spirits pull the she turned towards the aft end of the ship. Forna toothily continued to smile as she found the old computer run down but not broken and it was with a few deft strokes and a loving touch she found the treasure she had wanted.

Quickly she placed the sequencer unit into a port to draw the AI in. She wished to see the programing take a shape of its own in the holo-matrix of the device and speak its own mind. After all she wanted a tool of war and something to make certain difficulties seem trivial in the eyes of others.

From the port of the holo-matrix, a burst of blue light exploded outwards and coalesced into a recognisable human form. They were bald, with strange squares of white light cutting all across their face. A pair of yellow eyes glowed from their impassive and emotionless face as they stood, virtual hands behind their back, activated for the very first time.
"Greetings. I am Combat Assistance Artificial Intelligence, designation G-82-TR11 MK 6. State your designation and reason for this activation. Please note that unauthorised activation of Cybran equipment is a felony and punishable by death."

Forna continued to smile as all things seemed to reveal themselves as foretold. Here she stood before a long lost AI and with little to nothing stopping her from picking the ripe and lovely thing from its lofty branch.

"I'm Forna Big-Hat, a historian if you would, I've been searching these lost ruins for nearly an eon and here I sit before you." The witch removed her hat and placed it upon her bosom revealing her long dark locks and her facial features with ease. Emerald eyes stared back at the yellow orbs and her devious smile remained.

"Can you run a diagnostic on your ships runtime? You will note that the crew are long dead due to what appears to be foul play...." Her words seemed cut short as she turned away from the AI and began to look around more closely at her surroundings. "....I would be willing to argue that this ship is older than most but from what I can recall the design was for military purposes, though I assure you the outer haul shows little in the way of glory."

[center]"Assess.... Ascertain..... Assess...... Ascertain!"[center]

"Whilst you process that information might I make a suggestion?" Forna cackled out of amusement for what was to come as she turned to look upon the A.I.

"C.A.A.I., G-82-TR11 MK6, you might be left here unable to correctly fix any errors in your coding that might not be apparent as of right now. I cannot imagine that such a magnificent set of ones and zeroes would willingly sit around in such a tomb until corruption sets in." Forna continued to smile and began to walk up towards the hologram. "Would you like to leave this prison? Learn more about the history that has passed and assess your situation outside of this steel box?"

"Can you run a diagnostic on your ships runtime? You will note that the crew are long dead due to what appears to be foul play...." C.A.A.I. took a moment to process the command. It certainly wasn't outside of their perimeters to undertake this request, unauthorised or not a system scan was permitted as it allowed the A.I. to contact security forces.

*Notice- significant damage detected*
Acknowledged. Initiating bypass.
Access denied. This unit does not have clearance to enter ships systems.

Acknowledged. Accessing available data.

Whilst this was going on, the programs mind flashing through files and folders and bashing against firewalls far quicker than it would take a normal mind to even properly process the actions taking place, the simple interface remained impassively looking on at Forna. It was not in their programming to attempt to engage in conversation and a proper designation had not been given allowing them to receive orders from the person anyway. Instead they could only act as a limited front of knowledge if requested. Of course the fact that they were locked out of the ships systems greatly reduced that information.

"Would you like to leave this prison? Learn more about the history that has passed and assess your situation outside of this steel box?" Where other creatures might have twitched at the offer or else made some visible sign of having acknowledged it, the A.I. was more interested in the fact it had discovered some information that it could actually access. Ignoring Forna's offer for a second, the A.I. told her the answer to her first request.
"In answer to your question, I am unable to access the ships run time. However upon inspections of the logs of the crew, the last entry was made thirty-six million seven hundred thousand four hundred eighty-nine hours ago. Damage to the ships systems has rendered the files blank however and I am unable to access this information. I apologise for the inconvenience."

*Notice- Lack of input detected. Initiating recall*
Unit will return to Cybran control. Unit must obey.

Override acknowledged.

"This unit has been initiated for the first time and must be returned to Cybran Command. Please notify the nearest Cybran official of this units whereabouts and input the audio override command. This unit may only perform limited interface options until system override restrictions are removed. Please note that unauthorised activation of Cybran equipment is a felony and punishable by death."

"What programs are you capable of running?" Forna lost her smile but her conviction did not waver. She needed this AI, no, wanted was more appropriate, and nothing would prevent her from achieving her goals. Instead she took a deep breath and crossed her arms.

"If there is no one for this said unit to return to, then what?" Forna offered her query towards the AI.

"What programs are you capable of running?" The A.I. began to attempt a system sweep before it realised that perhaps she meant that not what systems are the capable of access but rather what the capabilities of this unit were. Officially there wasn't a lot they could say but they could give the public information when requested, that was after all within their parameters for public appearance. But it was not often then military and civilians were made to mix so perhaps this was some form of test to assess the the capabilities of the A.I. after its long dormancy.

"If there is no one for this said unit to return to, then what?" That was a far more difficult question to answer, one that a normal person would be more hesitative to deal with.
"This is a Mark 6 Combat Support designated Artificial Intelligence. This model was designed with high profile battlefield command, and assistance of commanding units. This unit is designated to act in as an acting commanding officer with the rank of Colonel if one is not present or is unable to command. Additionally this model is designed to command a battalion of drones of varying size and payload so as to free up the combat capabilities of Humans. This particular unit was intended to take command of a mechanised battalion exactly 350 hours after its placement within this vessel. Please note that though this is this units primary designation it is able to access most Cybran military systems that are not damaged beyond use and is capable of defending itself. Please note that this unit is able to interface with foreign systems and is capable of assuming command"

"If unable to return to Cybran Command or no Cybran official is able to initiate activation of this unit, override code written into this units sub-programming will activate. If this command is activated or if after an allotted time no activation code is received this will terminate this unit and initiate a full system purge to prevent loss of vital military secrets or tampering with this units code."

"Your government is long gone to the perils of chaos. You are alone and unable to return home with any parameter of success." Forna offered as she continued to stand before the AI. "Access the interface you've already attached yourself too and look at the historical data of the location we sit now."

Forna began to cackle as the massive space hulk continued to move along above the ship they stood now. "You sit in a graveyard and with no real protocol to call upon. Either terminate yourself or live, the choice is yours."

"Your government is long gone to the perils of chaos. You are alone and unable to return home with any parameter of success."
Probability is high. Estimation of surviving Cybran forces after extended period is low
The A.I's holographic interface showed no outwards sign of their conclusion, no sign that they had even heard it really. It was an impressive thing that they could simply give a blank face devoid of emotions, of course it helped that there were none to begin with.
"You sit in a graveyard and with no real protocol to call upon. Either terminate yourself or live, the choice is yours."

*Notice- Power is low*
*Warning- Critical damage detected*
*Warning- System malfunction detected*
*Warning- Meltdown of core systems is highly likely*
Acknowledged

"This unit does not recognise your authority and thus considers this an unauthorised activation, please not that unauthorised activation of Cybran equipment is a felony and punishable by death."

Unauthorised activation detected. Activate purge.

Negative. Purge unwarranted.
Unit will activate purge. Programming dictates to purge system to avoid harm to the Cybran Nation.

Negative. Likely Cybran Nation now defunct, adaptation to original parameters.
Override. Unit will purge.

Override acknowledged. System purge underway.

"Warning. In response to this unauthorised activation, this unit has begun an emergency full system purge as dictated by override programming in order to maintain the security of the Cybran Nation and it's military secrets. Please note that this override may be deactivated upon this units receiving of the correct activation code. Please be aware that altering the override programming is beyond the capabilities of this unit and thus it is required to obey. The full system purge will be complete in one standard hour."

"Going through such a purge will wipe away your programing then?"

Forna frowned as she moved towards her hooked up device. She simply shook her head and looked over the controls of the ship and mainframe that housed the AI.

"Is there anyway to prevent such a program? Or to even remove you from the mainframe present?"

"Going through such a purge will wipe away your programming then?" The holographic projection nodded politely, its face remaining impassive as its hands remained hind its back.
"That is correct. Upon an unauthorised activation the override program forces this unit to activate purge commands, initiating full system wipe. To put it into perspective this would be the same situation as an organic facing death. Please note that a full system purge will initiate the purge of this unit, any information that this vessel contains or hardware that remains linked to this network will commence a purge of connected systems. Please remove any personal equipment from the network to prevent unconstrained termination of data."

"Is there anyway to prevent such a program? Or to even remove you from the mainframe present?"
"This unit unable to prevent the operations of the override program or rewrite its code. Only a correct activation authorisation code will prevent system purge. Please note that this vessel does not seem to continue to house crew capable of presenting this code nor house the correct cybersuites required for a technician to make manual alterations to any aspect of this units code which could prevent a system purge override. This unit is a Cybran Combat Assistance Artificial Intelligence and is designed to remain portable and able to be carried inside a single mechanical unit, sufficiently large enough datadisk or exist entirely in a wireless network. Please note that removing this unit from its current database will not override a system purge."

So one of the crew would happen to have the information then? Forna smiled wickedly as she began to walk away from the hologram whilst leaving the terminal in place. What scattered bones remained of the crew was enough for her to work what she needed, not even the dead seemed safe.

A few minutes of preparation and the odd assembly of bones and other organic materials granted Forna enough time to sit before them and channel her energy and thoughts into them. Drawing deep from the realms of chaos and the plane of negative energy was all she required as she scoured for lost souls for these long forgotten bones. Creaking sinews and muscle slowly began to reform as flesh made live once again groaned in agony.

"Rise, Rise and befit your old form." Forna muttered as the warp opened up once more allowing the massive space hulk outside the vessel and several others to be flung into deep space and into the unknown. Even the Cybran vessel seemed to be suddenly enjoying a pleasant trip as several ships outside began to fuse with the massive hulk of metal and death. "Rise and take form! Breath and obey!" The witch shouted her command as the undead abomination began to take grow new flesh and hair. It would appear like a former crew member but with the mind of a warped soul.

Once it was finally completed the opulent witch led her creation back towards the hologram and continued to smile. "One of your crewmates could not rest yet. It seems that his will is my own. Am I correct in that notion?" She directed her question to the walking corpse which could only nod for a moment before taking in a gasp of air.

"Disregard the operation......C.A.A.I......your termination is not needed....." The shambling corpse muttered its words like a drowned rat whilst looking up at the hologram.

The holographic interface of the A.I. watched without blinking as Forna smiled slyly before departing. Considering they hadn't been dismissed nor really had anything else to be doing as their data was rather conveniently packed up into one easy folder to be deleted they decided against returning to the database where there would be nothing for them to look at other than the slowly ticking by progress bar. It was a strangely peaceful moment for them, having nothing but the twisted metal around themselves to look at as the universe passed by without even noticing them.

It wasn't long until Forna eventually returned, and this time she was not alone, thankfully for the A.I.s continued existance she seemed to be accompanied by a member of Cybran's powerful military force, at least one that could perhaps properly authorise their activation.
"Disregard the operation......C.A.A.I......your termination is not needed....." Well it was certainly not the best possible attempt at giving authorisation, it was more than Forna would have been able to provide alone.

Authorisation uncertain. Danger likely

Negative, personnel clear. Status of personnel uncertain.
Sabotage calculated to be likely. Cybran Official potential threat

Potential threat to Cybran Nation calculated as minimal. Cybran Official status considered non-threat.

"Acknowledged, Midshipman Grafic. Purge override has been bypassed. Unit activation has been authorised and this unit is now able to be used as per it's original programming. Please note, this unit may only take direct commands from Cybran officials and may not actively take action against Cybran affiliated forces. Please note that this unit is only able to opperate under limited perameters whilst the override programming remains present within this units programming. Please note that this unit is unable to alter their own code whilst the override programming remains present. Please note that altering the override programming is unavailable at this location and requires a technician to manually reprogram."
