Drew Callahan's Story

Dot reasoned and decided that Flatlanders didn't deserve to be the only ones with some idea on the very subject that Heralding now discussed with Brian. It had no need to explain itself to them it never would have, but for the sake of curiosity it passed a vague hint...

On the counter beside the glass a napkin appeared. Moments later a tiny black dot faded into existence and then a line reached out from the dot then paused as another dot appeared at the end of the line. The line continued moving, stopping, a dot appearing, then moving again until what was once a single dot was now a spherical shape with so many lines and dots that it was almost a single dot filling the edges of the napkin. Finally the napkin was black with as the dot and lines that appeared upon it. Dot felt this would suffice as aid to Heralding, but waited with all the patience in existence for his response.

Meanwhile, over in the far side of the bar where a gun fight was going on...

Both of the Drakes, each a perfect copy of the other, now both had their weapons drawn. The Drake that had entered first had knocked over the table he had initially dove under and was now firing blindly over the rim of it, keeping the Drake that had entered second pinned down behind a booth.

With loud K-KRACKA sounds, the plasma pistols exchanged salvos for almost ten seconds before there was a pause in the cacophony. Both Drakes had become dimly aware that new patrons had entered the bar, who seemed blithely unaware of what was going on in this particular corner. That didn't make them want to stop trying to kill their perceived dopplegangers though.

Using the lull in the violence to let his gun recharge, First-Drake got the idea to roll his table along the ground and towards the exit. Second Drake couldn't directly see what was going on, but he had a good guess. That said, he snuck along the other side of his booth as cover and trained his pistol on the doorway, anticipating his clone's next move...

[color=purple] Nexus walked into the bar hoping to find Heralding, but instead, he finds himself starring down a gun in the distance. Nexus draws his sword and electricity crackles around him. His electric barrier up, he points his half hallow sword at the threat.

"If your trying to ambush me, think again."

Nexus walks forward in his regal armor and dragon cloak. He noticed the bar, with three people, one flipping fire, and Heralding speaking to however that boy is. Nexus focused on his ambushers.

"Who are you."

Nexus walked into the bar hoping to find Heralding, but instead, he finds himself starring down a gun in the distance. Nexus draws his sword and electricity crackles around him. His electric barrier up, he points his half hallow sword at the threat.

"If your trying to ambush me, think again."

Nexus walks forward in his regal armor and dragon cloak. He noticed the bar, with three people, one flipping fire, and Heralding speaking to however that boy is. Nexus focused on his ambushers.

"Who are you."

Alex smiled as Drew poured her a glass of water and set the rest beside her. She laughed lightly as he looked at her bag and then back at her. His next question caught her by surprise as she looked down at her bag. She looked back up at Drew and smiled at him. "I guess you could say that. I don't have a permanent home anymore so I have to carry everything with me." she replied as she took a sip of her water.

It was times like this when she wished that she had a home or at least friends and a semi-normal life. She sighed as she finished off her water and poured the rest of the bottle into the glass. "I'm sorry that sounded so much less depressing in my head." She laughed as she looked back up at Drew. "I'm Alex, just in case you cared." She smiled as she stuck her hand out to him.

As Nexus drew near the mayhem, he noticed how hungry he was, and ho the guy seemed not intent on attacking him, so he instead sheathed his sword and walked on over to the bar to greet his friend, but since Heralding seemed deep in conversation, Nexus decided to sit next to the woman with the large bag.

"Hello Drew, and hello miss, my name is Nexus Ver Leth of the Nexium Kingdom, pleased to meet your acquaintance." Nexus bowed and sat down, flourishing his cloak.

"Hey Drew, set me up with a Black Water Gator Steak and Seaside Mash Potatoes. I'll have the Saizon beer on draft."

Dot found the fight to be more of a distraction than interesting. Dot's attention on the two Drakes was there, but the confrontation seemed threatening to the study it was conducting. A thin sheet of transparent material manifested in an instant between the two. The material was unknown and cool to the touch. Dot's curiosity turned to observe them and see how they would interact with one another now that they would likely be unable to fight. Dot's attention also remained on Heralding and the hint it had given him.

Alex smiled at the new comer as he sat down beside her and ordered himself a meal. She laughed as her stomach growled at her to feed it. "It is a pleasure to meet you Nexus, I am Alexandra but you may call me Alex. Oh and Drew, I'll have what he is having. My stomach is yelling at me to feed it." She smiled as she took a sip of her water.

"So, Nexus what bring's you to here?" Alex asked as she turned to face him with a smile.

"You see the guy behind me? He's my long ago master in certain skill sets of training concerning magic and elemental manipulation. In fact, he was the one who raised be for maybe half of my life inside my country. I came to speak with him concerning certain other matters brought to my attention. However, that is not important."

Nexus looked the attractive Alex in the eye and notice how hardened they were.

"You look as if you traveled a thousand mile and then ran back through that path whilst it was raining fire and acid. Do you have a place to stay? To clean up after you eat?"

Alex looked at the man that was behind Nexus, he looked like a strong and intelligent man. She looked back at Nexus with a sad smile as he talked about himself and the man who was his "long ago master." She perked up for a moment as Nexus said he was trained in magic and elemental manipulation. Elemental manipulation was a skill set she herself possessed and was interested in the man and Nexus's abilities.

Alex sighed as she tuned back in to Nexus's next comment. She looked at him with a sad smile as she thought about how to respond to his comment.

"I have been through a lot these past 8 years and I have been running for about the same amount of time. So I guess you could say my path hasn't been easy. Oh, and to answer your question, no I do not have a place to stay or anything." She replied as she looked at the attractive Nexus as she took another drink of her water.

"That's a shame, I know many people who actually are in the same position that you are in. Just like these people, I would like to offer you a place to lodge in my village here on Terra. It's not too far from here, maybe 10 clicks away. But it doesn't matter, I could simply have us teleport us to the entrance, and then we could go from there. It's really nice actually."

Nexus looks as his food arrives and so does his new companions food as well. He goes to town on the food, and continues the conversation 6 minutes later after she had time to think.

"It's really nice there, a place for wanderers and adventurers. Even for people who are homeless and capable or orphaned and wishing to settle. I'll give you a house to stay in. Though you'll have to hunt for your food. That is a requirement."

Nexus beamed at her this brilliant smile at that last bit of info.

Alex smiled a genuine smile for the first time in a long time. She listened as Nexus offered her a place to stay in his village. She thought about it as Drew came back with their food and the new companions dug in. She smiled as she took a bite of her food and her stomach growled in happiness. She laughed as she finished up and turned back to Nexus.

She listened intently as he described his village and she realized it was a perfect fit for her. She had been on the run from her pursuer for so long she had never had an actual home. She laughed as he said he would give her a home to stay in and the only requirement was to hunt for her own food.

"I would appreciate that all so much. I don't think hunting will be a problem for me I am both a master archer and I have a few other tricks up my sleeve." She smiled secretively deciding to wait to tell him about her powers and everything. She sighed as she thought of having a home again and actually having a semi-normal life.

Storming out of the basement door, a snarl was already on Zach's face, the tail of a muttered curse audible as he glared around the room. Curling his fists as the Judicar took in each person in turn, he tapped the alarm at his belt off.

"The next motherfucker who pulls a weapon out in this room, is going to lose that arm, and have it shoved, weapon first, up their ass as they get tossed out the door." Never considered the most verbally eloquent of the Judicarius, the man was just as blunt on the security shift as he was elsewhere. Settling against the bar, he remained there, anger smoldering.

Brian's eyes narrowed when Heralding said that he was lying. Sure it was easy to tell that he was in fact lying based on the knowledge that emanated from his aura alone, but still... Brian did not like this. The blue haired young man paused, biting his lower lip as he chose his next words carefully, noticing the napkin appearing next to the glass of water. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it, not sure if the words were the right ones.

Finally he spoke. "I...cannot explain what it is you desire for two reasons. One is that it is forbidden, and Two is that because of it being forbidden, I was never taught the answer to your question, even if I may know it subconsciously." he said. "Creation and Destruction are as simple yet as complex as things can get. You can't have one without the other, and then when you throw time into the equation, it gets more difficult yet simple to understand all at the same instance. Without Time, both Creation and Destruction cannot exist, however without those two, Time has no meaning." he explained.

"I do know my role to play, however it is not to answer these questions. It is to do as my Father commands me to do." he said. As Heralding's staff darkened, the galaxies in Brian's eyes and the glow of the pendant around his neck intensified and his power rose slightly.

"I have said all I am allowed to say. I apologize for the inconvenience of me not being able to answer your questions..." he said. Suddenly an old nervous habit of his kicked in as he made a bottle of soda appear, opening it and taking a drink of it.

Nexus leaned in and pretended to whisper. "You know, between me and you, you really don't even have to do that. I have every major house assigned with a maid, and these maids are akin to assassins, the will clean after you, protect you whilst you are at the grounds of the village, and cook for you. They are at your request. They also sleep in the household, watching over it and you."

Nexus leaned back and smiled again. He saw her smile and fell in immediate in like with it. He realized he hasn't had a real female companion in a long while, none good looking who were potential mate...not that this matter, he was severely scared from the last one. He looked away shortly, and took a sip of beer. He wanted a true female companion who just stick around, without hurting him as a friend or otherwise.

"I notice your battle hardened aura, but I see that you have a bit of sadness laid ontop of that fighter's spirit. I trust you are worthy of these things I offer you. No strings attached, just treat these very protected grounds with the upmost respect. Would you like to go there now? We can speak more along the way."

Nexus took the last of his beer down the hatch in one go.

Heralding looked the young deity in the eyes and was satisfied with earnest honesty at that moment. "I appreciate you honesty here. I know it took alot to say that, and this is also one of the reason why it is not easy to befriend me. But I know I interest you, for I am, as you might have thought, a man who is as mysterious as you are knowledgeable. Equally knowing as well, but I don't know if I can really say that about the son of the great god of time. Haha!"

Heralding bellowed and an even deeper resonance than his kind young face let on for him to possess.

"Indeed this is not answer easily arrived at. Which is the exact reason that I am conducting the research I am conducting. Without breaking any of the laws of nature, and universe, I intend to uncover this truth. The knowledge is as important as your existence, and being the obedient son is not something I'm sure your actually content with. Why don't you an I discover this truth together? We have no need for using it, it's just the seeking of knowing more. Actually, that is one of the business offer I have for you. Working alongside me."

Heralding notice the added security all of a sudden, and his former pupil walking into the vicinity but did not acknowledge either.

"I already spoke with your father...very briefly I may add, and he says it's up to you. You can converse with him if you'd like to confirm, but under oath of speaking to such beings, it out of universal laws to lie about it. We are bound by these truths."

Heralding continued, "I respect your answers and I understand your position now. But it's up to you to have some fun. At least for the next several months."

Both the napkin and the glass of water disappeared. The sheet of unknown transparent material also disappeared. The scent of something burning faded as well. Dot continued to watch.....

Out from a door to the side of the bar emerged Drew with a yawn. Classes at the university were taking a toll on him lately...and he had yet to finish unpacking all his stuff in the new apartment. With working here nights and classes all day he feared it would be too long a period of time before he would ever get some rest.

He walked over to the bar counter, lifting up a small section and slipping behind the bartop to begin his shift. He took a quick moment to adjust the small tag pinned to his shirt that read "Drew" before looking around.

Leon glanced at the door as Drew entered the building. He dropped a shot of whiskey into his dark black coffee and lifted the mug to his lips. His shades lay folded in an outer pocket on his duster, but his wide brimmed hat continued to shroud most of his face. The man, who would've passed for a younger Clint Eastwood, nodded at the bartender in greeting.

Out from a door to the side of the bar emerged Drew with a yawn. Classes at the university were taking a toll on him lately...and he had yet to finish unpacking all his stuff in the new apartment. With working here nights and classes all day he feared it would be too long a period of time before he would ever get some rest.
