Description

Koishi Komeiji
(The Unknowable Sister)

Sister of Satori Komeiji

History

Koishi is the younger Komeiji, sister to Satori, and like her, also a satori. While Satori found her own ways to accept and cope with both the ups and downsides to her mind-reading ability, Koishi couldn't handle it. One day, through means she doesn't willingly discuss, she completely sealed her Third Eye, and "killed" the reason she felt feared and hated by others - in the process, sealing her own heart and feelings off from the world as well.

While this did work, and other people ceased to find her frightening, this changed her so much, it didn't mean anything to her at all. She became "static" in her new state, and unreceptive to attempts at opening her up again.

When Satori ordered her own pets to play with her sister, and even giving Koishi some to take care of herself, it only had a minimal affect - at times, she seemed almost to respond, and at others, as if she were only going through the motions. Only the encounter with the Heroines stirred her enough to feel interest and commonplace ambition. Not enough to truly open her heart again yet, but enough to stir it, and rouse long-forgotten parts and the first feeling of regret she's had in ages.

Personality

Koishi is at heart a lonely girl who mostly just wants to belong and be accepted. Ironically, in the process of doing the one thing she thought would give her this simple happiness, she completely closed herself off from it.

In the world she exists in now, she is utterly alone in a way no one else can truly comprehend. And the worst part is, she doesn't feel it - her obtaining a state of "highest happiness" as Buddhism puts it, gives her a perpetually carefree feeling that prevents her from realizing what she's truly done to herself. Her heart is shut tight even from herself, and buried deep in a sea of false contentedness.

So she wanders the world like a forgotten ghost that can occasionally be seen by others, leaving and returning home when she pleases, unheralded and unannounced, living according to mercurial whims, and doing as she pleases. She maintains worldly connections, but distantly and at arms length, though she still feels them - her pets, her sister, her home, links she still feels and keeps up, but not with the same investment.

Since she's usually cheery, her interactions with others are almost always with this face, regardless of circumstance - this can make her seem disturbing, lacking in tact and/or empathy and sympathy, or peculiarly detached at varying times. But she can also be a bit Mischievous to get sharp reactions and connections, but seldom to the level of a real prankster - she enjoys a good tease, and otherwise prefers to go along with others' jokes, even at her own expense, since embarrassment too is something she doesn't feel strongly from such things.

Within the Multiverse

After Gensokyo's access to the greater Multiverse, Koishi had a whole larger expanse to explore. Satori had even more trouble keeping in contact with her sister now, and Koishi would be spotted all across the Multiverse in various locations, even inexplicably showing up in places she doesn't belong. Her inherent ability to disguise herself from the majority of people through her manipulation of the subconscious being very useful in evading hostile forces all across the Multiverse, rarely experiencing conflict...and rarely engaging in it. In most scenarios, if she is thrust into conflict, she often chooses to leave instead of stick around and risk herself, even despite her power...it's often not worth the time and risk...

Powers and Abilities

Koishi possesses the power to Read and Manipulate the subconscious.

As a practical matter, Reading it means she can see the base instincts and impulses of others, but unlike Satori's ability, not words, thoughts and details, feelings, or desires - an excellent ability for protecting herself, and a near-useless one for understanding another creature's heart and needs, or communicating with someone who can't otherwise (like animals.)

Her ability to Manipulate it, however, is truly frightening. At its heart, this allows her to subtly play on others' capacity to Perceive and Recognize - without both, from another person's perspective, a thing simply doesn't exist on any level. Koishi mainly makes use of this to an extreme degree, to maintain a state of faux-Mu/Nirvana - a practical death of the "self". If she doesn't make her presence known to be acknowledged, both she, and any actions she commits, won't be recognized by others.

This gives her an invisibility that is more than perfect, allowing her to wander around unseen, unheard, and utterly unnoticed by all around her. It's not that others can't see her, but they literally can't perceive her or her actions' existence until she calls attention to herself to be recognized. Explanations for otherwise unexplainable phenomenon, are shifted onto the user's subconscious to fill in the gap of recognition.

Things she does that others could notice, won't be seen as the work of "some sneaky ninja person hiding around here," but instead shifted subconsciously to whatever other reasons the person might attribute them to - for example, she can eat another's food out from under them, and they will instead believe another in the room did it, they did it themselves before they knew it, etc.

Furthermore, even when recoginized, no creature save perhaps the Yama, can actually sense her as being "there" - you can see her, she's talking to you, she can even be touched, but has no "presence" or sense of self to be felt at all. Even her sister can't perceive her until she makes herself known, or detect/read her thoughts when she does.

So begins...

Malian blinked. Only once, but once was telling enough. He had noticed something...

"Unfortunately, I cannot," Malian slowly withdrew his hand as he kept his composure, making a graceful bow to the lovely Alecia, "My condolences, madam, but I'm afraid something unexpected has come up. I shall be making my departure from this event early tonight. Perhaps another time?"

And before another word could be uttered, he turned and began walking towards the door. He maintained his calm gait towards the exit of the Gala, passing by a few other attendees, even accidentally brushing into one of the females in his haste.

"My apologies, ma'am," was all he said to the lady as he made his exit.

David smirked and listened to the young man. Ballsy plays always seemed to bring something out in the opulent CEO as he reached into his jacket and produced a rather strange business card.

"Mr. Valentine, I' rather shocked and amazed if I can be so blunt, I'd never imagined that someone would have looked into my own business only to present an opportunity such as this." David began to lay it on thick only to then take another drought of his drink. "The edacity of it all to think that I could pass up such a fine opportunity without even getting more of the details might even seem more of a rookie move than any of those suckers down at Logicroad." Mr. Malachite began to laugh a little only to offer his card over to the young man. "Just so we are clear I can find specimens and artifacts without the aid of some upstart. But, I like your moxie, I also cannot say that you've not piqued my interests. Arrive at the address on the card and we will talk shop."

Helga simply stood waiting only to have a lone man leaving bump into her. "Excuse you." She muttered only to return to her duties.

Obake was still sitting in the cockpit of his spacejet, waiting to be addressed by the landing party over his radio. But there was no response, only static. He then decided to be the first to communicate. Pushing a button on his screen, Obake's ship suddenly took total control over the rooftop's entire telecommication system, including all sonar and sound frequencies. Upon doing this, everything would become momentarily dead silent. Guests were still dancing and moving their lips in conversation, but there was no sound at all, not even at the lowest frequency. This sudden ability to nullify all sound didn't take very long for the dancing and lip moving to stop, causing mass hysteria almost instantly, especially amongst the guards whose earpieces and microfones no longer functioned. After a moment, the sound pulse faded allowing everyone on the rooftop to hear normal again. Their telecoms, speakers and mics were still not functional, but at least they could hear themselves talk and communicate verbally without any electrical sound equipment.

Obake then pushed another button, tapping into the guard's radio frequencies while allowing them to work again. This would only effect those on the rooftop level though, with such strange events being completely undetectable by anyone inside the Mars Corps building who didn't have a radio of some sort (or incredibly sensitive hearing). After tapping into the MarsCorp station's radio frequency, Obake introduced himself. "This is White Eagle to MarsCorps Security, come in security, over." Obake looked at his screen, not surprised to see that his craft was entirely surrounded on all sides by a 360-degree circle of weapons aimed directly at his vessel. He briefly wondered how long it would take them to figure out that they couldn't penetrate his shields, but he quickly brushed the thought aside and pushed the button again. "Again this is White Eagle to MarsCorp Security, come in security, over." Obake tried a second time to communicate with someone on the rooftop. He kept his hand on the joystick the entire time, knowing it could pop off at any second.

Just then, Obake's u-flies informed him that some more ships had appeared directly in front of their location. The autonomous bugbots reacted immediately, swarming around the ships which now had weapons pointed at the Asphodelian fleet. Obake's bugbots were small, very small, as they began to fly in by the thousands around the Taiyou fleet, prodding the Taiyou ships as they swarmed around them. The winged drones were composed of utonium based alloy, a very rare and unique hybrid metal alloy stronger than even most magically enchanted metals. Obake's bugbots were made of basically the same substance as his dagger, which was known to cut diamond and adamant like butter. More rare than unobtainium or badassium, the hybrid alloy used in constructing his u-flies was immune to all forms of magic, electricity, magnetism, radioactivity, plasma, gravity, time manipulation, divination, elemental forces, ultrasonics and radar detections, among other things. This was because Obake's bugbots were also powered by etherine, which was unlike any other power or force. As the miniature drones prodded the Taiyou ships harmlessly for any vents, cracks or crevices, they immediately began collecting data which was forwarded to Obake's computer.

Still waiting for a MarsCorp officer to respond to his radio signal, Obake recieved another message from Prince Sin asking him what to do about the Taiyou ships which had just appeared. Obake advised the Asphodelian commander to standby, something which most Asphodelians didn't even understand the meaning of. But Sin trusted Obake as his royal advisor, even against his Asphodelian brother's poorer judgment. Obake sat idle, waiting impatiently while hoping that Prince Sin would command his troops to do the same.

Obake was also hoping that by establishing some form of communication, a preventable conflict might possibly be avoided...

For an act of obvious and unfathomable idiocy a response was warranted for something so deserving.

The first mistake was the 'ambassadors' last as Mars Corps. artificial intelligence turned its attention away from one obvious pain in its digital neck to the more annoying target which essentially painted itself red as it needed to tap into the systems in order to get to those coms which security was attached. It wasn't hard for Atom 7K to bypass the obvious lack of major security which the personal shuttle was equipped with. It wasn't even difficult for the A.I to look over the programs which seemed to be running silently as he simply unleashed all the ICE to drown out Obake's A.I. with malicious code and viruses which would wreak havoc upon the computers files and programs as they would attempt to either purge or quickly counter the major hacking attempts. Mars Corp was rather proud of their destructive little A.I. as it not only began to take care of business but also inform major security heads of the sudden breach. This anomaly would not leave the Gala without giving its proper thanks to the Host and apologize for its reckless behavior.

==================================================================================

Helga and Douglas both excused themselves from the party after suddenly being silenced only to make their way to the source of the problem. As soon as they had both left the prying eyes of their peers at the party each began to take on their roles very seriously. Douglas simply cast aside his mask and was handed his cane from an intern only to smirk and vanish from reality only to appear right before Obake and his ship. Helga on the other hand called upon her armor from Hammerspace and donned her battle suit quickly just to shift from one locale to another with a pistol and sword in hand. Obake would indeed be surrounded by gun and blade and every member of the security showed no sign of backing down.

"Let's get this straight shall we." Douglas spoke up only to bring the butt of his cane up towards ship. The Gentleman began to etch several magic circles in the air before him which began to form above and bellow the ship itself. Helga on the other hand began to conjure a strange tome before her very person as her shadow took the form of an eldritch creature which stood by her side. The woman simply began chanting and empowering Douglas and his spellcasting as she began to read from the book bound to her soul.
Image

Every word Hegla spoke and every intricate mark Douglas marked upon the air would hold the ship in place. It was not directly affecting the ship itself but the very laws of nature and reasons that surrounded the vessel itself preventing it from acting as it normally would. Though the ship itself was immune to magic the dimensions around it could be altered and shaped.

"Khepa Khepa..." Douglas began his own chanting as more symbols began to be etched into the before him. The reality around the ship began to warp and twist as several portals of each of the elements would simultaneously open around the vessel whilst walls of light began to envelop the very space around the sorcerers target. "....Ra Asperuk.."

================================================================================

In another realm a large hatted wizard began to itch his noes only to note the calling of a pact once long thought forgotten. It was a bargain once struck that needed to be forged and completed and so the necessary requirements would be fulfilled. Mystical energies flowed from across the plains towards Douglas and Helga who continued their own spell work whist the master wizard with the mammoth sized hat just sat back and watched from his massive library.

================================================================================

Meanwhile back with Atom 7K and his holy works more programs would easily fall to his whim as his agents began to work with little resistance if any. The use of the drones that Obake used would easily be caught up in the little tidbit as everything was either tied to one program or system which would fall drastically sense the only thing that could attempt to stop the agents now was a measly firewall. Atom 7K began to catalog every bit of information that was available only to run a background check upon Obake and his cohorts. If the man expected to be an ally to Mars Corp he was surely mistaken. The engines to Obake's ship would suddenly find themselves cut and silenced as Atom 7K would begin his work of containing the other A.I. only to delete the annoyance permanently.

Prince Sin of Asphodel gave a sinister smirk as the Taiyou ships appeared suddenly within ripples of timespace, pointing 50cm nuke cannons and shock cannons directly at his fleet. He contacted Majister Obake for advice on what to do next. Being asked to stand his ground without attacking, Sin trusted Obake's advice, much to his subordinate's dismay. Sin sent a message to one of the battle carriers, directing the R.R.T. to ready their deployment.

Everything was working perfectly according to Sin's plan. The Asphodelian fleet quickly took a spearhead formation with Soulburst at the head of the formation, pointing directly back at the Taiyou fleet. Soon, the Asphodelian ships would exchange forces and combined shields, adding power to their overall defensive systems in the process. The omnite source of power manipulating the massive forcefield was impenetrable to almost anything, with the exception of some unique powers found only on their Asphodelian planet in the Bluestar Galaxy.

It didn't take the watchers on Soulburst very long to acquire an update of Obake's situation. Atom7K responded like most electrical and radio fed A.I. systems would respond, by subjecting Obake's control system to a barrage of hacks and viruses which would ultimately prove ineffective as Star informed Obake of ICE's intentions. The power crystal at Star's core was a pyramite unit which operated using etherine rather than electricity or magic. All the droid was doing was bouncing electronic codes and signals into nowhere, something which must have been difficult for most conventional droids to compute without error.

Even the thrusters and engines on Obake's spacejet seemed to be unaffected by the A.I.'s attempt to bypass his control system. Prince Sin could only imagine what Star's response to Atom 7K's signals would be, but Sin knew very well that Obake's u-flies would also be unaffected, since they too were composed of utonium based alloys and powered by etherine. Sin respected Obake's preference for etherine based technology, but was personally still more fond of omnite power, which the Asphodelian species had been using for thousands of years.

Omnite was the exact opposite of etherine, but still just as powerful. It too was unaffected by magical forces, computer viruses, electromagnetic pulses and nuclear weapons. Omnite was a highly unstable form of dark energy which operated under its own laws, being incredibly difficult to harness. The Asphodelians themselves had discovered omnite on their home planet long ago and were the only ones in the Hadroda Universe known to possess it.

Prince Sin peered through his visor towards the command deck as his guards and troops stood at attention, ready to take orders from his command. Reaver class Asphodelians suddenly teleported to the top of every Asphodelian ship, three mages on each ship, seventy five Reavers altogether, standing in the vacuum of space on the outside surface of each ship. Because the Reavers were immune to outer space and did not require air to breathe, they walked across the outside of their own spaceships with little difficulty. Drawing something akin to magical runic symbols in the space around their ships using finger and hand motions, the Reavers started their enchantment, all of them combining forces to cast a single purpose.

Cedric took the card and placed it in his jacket pocket. That was all the room he needed, a foothold in the MV, and now he had one. There was a great deal of other business he still needed to attend to, but the ball could start rolling now.

As Cedric stood in thought he noticed something take the attention of all the security in the room, in fact every Mars Corp employee, right up to Mr. Malechite himself, seemed to turn with a singular focus to one problem at hand.

He had heard the sudden silence, the awkward ending of conversation despite nobody seemingly ending any conversation. He couldn't help but think that the narrators, beings he had learned about in his travels between the very realms of existence, existing even outside of that space where his own familiar did, would not take kindly to this seeming breach of good form. Someone, somewhere, was playing with things they aught not. Cedric, having succeeded in his intentions, felt it was time to make his exit.

It was well enough, as David Malechite had vanished himself, along with a number of others who Cedric had assumed to be part of his security. The only others he may have had reason to interact with, the royalty, had already made their swift exits in the face of an uneasy situation.

Cedric turned toward the exit and took a step. Blinking his eyes, he disappeared.

#, as written by Obake
Meanwhile, Obake was still waiting impatiently inside the protection of his spacejet as I.C.E. personnel surrounded his craft with weapons. "I detect a disturbance, master." Star was picking up on Atom 7K's attempts to override her programming with codes and viruses."Shall I terminate the source?" Star asked in a rather strange and sexy way. She appeared to be unaffected by the viruses, as she absorbed the data from each of the droids codes in order to study them. By that point, Obake was thinking quickly on what to do next. Despite the change in situation, Obake seemed to remain perfectly calm.

It was as if he was already way too used to being in these sort of situations, as he shut off the wavelengths to his radio, nullifying any chance of communication with the MarsCorp security. "Close systems. Activate deflect shields," Obake commanded, ignoring Star's offer and her seductive voice. Immediately, she carried out his orders. Within miliseconds of his command, Obake's spaceship started to send out it's own artificial electrical signals, bouncing Atom 7K's own information back at itself. "I told you she was sexy," Obake winked and smiled while seemingly speaking to himself since nobody else could hear him.

As the Asphodelian fleet was making plays in the sky, Obake was also at work on the building's rooftop, pushing buttons on his screen while activating something else down below using a switch on his joystick. Suddenly, the solid black triangular craft that had landed previously below the MarsCorp building started being animated again on the planet's surface. The triangular craft would slowly start charging up as the wings unfolded, transforming the entire UFO into some kind of powerful energy generator as a large central unit emerged from out of the middle of the unmanned craft, revealing a large pyramite crystal engine in the shape of a vortex.

As the fields around the craft slowly became distorted, the pyramite crystals would start to glow neon blueish white. The central unit started generating etherine and storing it in the vortex within the engine. The unique power source was so bright it would've been permanently blinding to anyone who attempted to gaze upon it directly. As the triangular craft started powering up, a soft humming noise could be heard faintly coming from the power source. Vibrations caused the nearby rocks and stones around the craft to levitate and hover in a circle around the vortex.

Still in his own spacejet at the opposite side of the corporate A building, Obake watched as Douglas and Helga started performing a magical enchantment which manipulated the space outside of Obake's spacejet and his u-flies. Obake himself was unaffected, but the space and laws of nature outside his craft were slowly being mingled with. This appeared to have no effect on his hybridized utonium based u-flies, which were immune to time and space manipulation, among other things. Despite the enchantment, Obake's bugbots continued on their course around the Taiyou fleet, their etherine power source never shorting out or failing. Within moments after hitting another button on his screen, Obake's personal spacejet on the rooftop was directly linked to the triangular spacecraft at the base, placing the entire MarsCorp skyscraper in the center between both crafts, with everyone who didn't leave either still on the rooftop or still inside the building.

Obake's triangular unmanned spacecraft appeared to have been unnoticed, or had somehow been overlooked by the MarsCorp personnel. Obake was willing to bet they would notice it now...

With curious eyes and a knack for exploration, Koishi Komeiji often found herself in predicaments and strange situations which led to more than one adventure a month...Of course, not everything was excitement and fun for her. Especially considering the problem with her inability to truly feel emotions. But, she still tried to do things that made other people happy and smile, out of some form of instinct.

This, however, was not one of those days. Without aim or focus, Koishi found herself on another planet entirely. One she hadn't visited before...it was strange, but that wouldn't deter the ever curious satori girl. What was more curious was the terrain. On the ground was something that added even more confusion to this pile of confusing matters. A large, black...humanoid shaped black smear against the ground? It wasn't really like anything she'd seen before. People normally left red smears after blunt force was applied, not black ones. But that's okay, they could be special instead. Or maybe it was a magic trick instead! Her mind racing, Koishi began examining the oddness with a curious gleam in her eyes. Like a child witnessing candy for the first time...after all, new things had the chance of being exciting maybe!

An orange streak of light skimmed the horizon. It was moving fast, very fast, when suddenly it took a sharp left. It grew larger and brighter and louder as it sped closer and closer and closer to it's destination. It was retro, dripped with awesome, and was definitely a hover bike.

It skid to a stop on the other side of the object of curiosity as Koishi Komeiji. A lithe form gracefully dismounted and, from behind a robotic retro-graded helmet, began to analyze the thing on the ground. After a few moments, she looked across the smear towards the Koishi. She then said, in that monotone robotic helmet voice, "Dafuq izzit?"

Koishi Komeiji was looking on curiously when something else suddenly caught her attention, though not exactly for the same reasons. Suddenly, new people were about! Some lady who rode upon a big bike, and wore lots of stuff. It wasn't jewelry...hm! With an almost air-headed nature to her grin, Koishi just giggled lightly. "Dunno! I just found it, and I haven't poked it yet..."

Though normally Koishi was able to slip through the cracks of people's minds and be "unseen" as if she's invisible, rendering weak-willed individuals completely unaware of her presence as their minds went to work making up excuses for why things happened beyond the idea that Koishi may be the cause. However...with the assisted aid of technology, Niira would have no trouble seeing her - at least, so long as she kept the helmet on. With her hands behind her back, Koishi tilted her head and thought for a moment about what to do, and how to make this interesting turn of events even more interesting... "Hmmm...do you have a stick to poke it with?"

Niira grinned beneath the helmet. She didn't have a stick, but something nearly as decent! In a flash she was to the hover bike, yanking something attached to one of the sides. It was as long as the hoverbike. Black like obsidion-shiny, too! Almost like bamboo dipped in latex, or perhaps a very wet stick of charcoal.

"Gargantua stalk!" She proudly brandished the piece of monster anatomy, "My bro, he choppit off himself a'Hunt!"

The stalk was originally going to be mounted on the wall of their home, but this seemed like a much more fruitful use. Besides, she had two.

Koishi Komeiji examined it with a grin and a nod, agreeing with the general structure of the 'Gargantua stalk' as it was called. Nothing she had ever heard of, but hey, the name sounded cool! And aside from that, it was pretty neat looking too. It even blended in with the black smear on the ground! Turning her head from Niira to the ground, she thought to herself. "Yeah, that should work!" Then turning back to look at the lady, she tilted her head. "Do you think this is something spooky? Maybe a ghost came by and started turning the ground into black goo...ectoplasm, I think it's called! Maybe that's why it's so person-shaped!"

Niira stared blankly from behind her helmet at the stranger, before tilting her head quizzically. After a few moments of contemplation she shrugged.

"Iunno what a GHOST is," Robotic, monotone, she said through the helmet, and without another moment's notice slammed the tip of the Gargantua stalk into what would assumedly be the heart of the smear that was shaped-ish like a person.

Koishi Komeiji was about to open her mouth to explain and go on, maybe ramble a little, but the swiftness of her actions caught Koishi a bit off-guard! The stalk was jammed towards the 'heart' of the person-shaped 'smear'. Though normally one may expect such a thing to just hit the ground with a bit of reaction, this case was different...

Swelling and contorting, the 'smear' twisted to reveal its true form as a portal...of some sort. Like taking one more step than intended down the stairs, it may be jarring to expect solid ground where there isn't any. Koishi's eyes lit up almost instantly, grinning wide at the sight. "That's significantly less boring than what I thought it'd do~"

"WEAHAT?!" Niira shrieked (in monotone) as the stalk didn't bounce off the ground, crumble, or create a sandstorm that would sweep them to their deaths. Instead, it jerked maybe like a foot into what could only be described as thick air. Niira was caught off guard. She began to fall forwards, cartwheeling her arms and swinging around, before resorting to grabbing the stalk for support.

Surprisingly, it didn't budge, instead holding fast in the portal...of some sort. Slowly, very slowly, it began to sink.

"LESS BORING?" Niira pushed off from the stalk back into balance. No way in a gargantua's nest was she gonna touch that smear.

Koishi Komeiji nodded with a wide grin, having her arms out in an outstretched position like she was trying to gesture to everything around her. "Yeah! See, the world is so big and full of stuff! Weird stuff, undiscovered stuff...this is one of those undiscovered stuff we've been blessed with being able to discover~" She giggled more like an overexcited child and began bouncing a bit. "Ooh! What if there's a dragon on the other side? Or a bunch of goblins...or both! Dragon goblins!"

The possibilities were endless in Koishi's mind, and with that she got to her hands and knees like someone would when they're about to peer over a cliff. This time, however, she was looking up to Niira and sticking her tongue out. "I bet you're too scared to do THIIIIS~" With that, she turned her head back around and stuck it 'into' the black smear to see what was beyond...

Niira had never heard of a dragon, a goblin, or of anything like this. She recalled her geology lessons, and also geography, remembering there were gaps of unexplored planet, but not ever realizing how much of it was unexplored. A lot of it, probably.

She was wondering about the possibilities for exploration, having had been formally intrigued, when Koishi climbed down to the ground. Before she could even move, the crazy girl had stuck her head in the gargdamned portal!

"WHADARYA CRAZYANYOU WANNA DIE?!" Niira screeched in monotone, rushing around the smear, hopping over a leg, and frantically landing at the crazy stranger's side. She was admittedly afraid to make physical contact. What if something bad happened?!

"GET OUTCHEAH GARGDAMNIT!"

Koishi Komeiji was still for a moment or two, the only thing indicating that she was still alive being the gentle rising and falling of her chest as she remained in place. Though, once that moment had passed she took her head out of the portal and stood up, her eyes glancing to Niira. She opened her mouth to speak, and then closed it once more. Maybe she could impart some information to help her? Koishi, being unable to feel fear completely, was unsure what to think about how she felt. It was tingly...like doing something she shouldn't have, but she didn't want to stop. And yet...she knew in the back of her head she needed to. It was a strange conundrum. After that moment of thought and looking as monotone in expression as the lady's voice, she just grinned. "I didn't die, did I?~" She responded, but looked back to the smear with a glance. "It's pretty dark in there...someone did some whispering, but I couldn't understand it. I dunno what that's all about!"

Niira took two steps as wide as could be away from the strange portal.

"No," she said simply, firmly. She was in no way messing with whatever this was. Some kind of dark evil, manifested. Maybe a type of magic? Absolutely not. Whispering? Niira wondered what it said.

Which is where her curiosity got the best of her.

"Couldn't get tha whisprin?" Niira shifted forward a hair.

Koishi Komeiji shrugged her shoulders at that, couldn't get it? Well, it's not like she spoke a whole lot of languages, but...she just didn't get it. "It sounded weird. Lots of words that sounded like "shush", and...lotsa soft words! It was kinda relaxing, but at the same time...kinda spooky!" She looked back to the portal while tapping her chin, curious. "I wonder who put something like that there though...it's a bad place to be scaring people..."
