The wolf panted heavily, her limbs shaking. It was obvious she would not be attacking anymore, as the wolf would not be able to take any more without killing herself.
Chloe turned slightly to look at the two attackers before she collapsed into a heap, her world growing dark.
Before he could pull the trigger though, the wolf's fur began to recede.
If there was one weak spot for Desmond... well actually there where many weak spots for the man, but the one of relevance at this particular moment was women. He couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger on the unconscious red-head lying on the pavement.
"Ah fuck me, I can't shoot 'er like that!" he finally exclaimed as he lowered the gun. "You do it."
He shook his head. "We need to take her somewhere till she can speak for herself."
Truth be told though he didn't really disagree with Snow, and he didn't particularly want to kill the woman. Especially like this. He was still flustered though with his near being mauled to death. Blood ran in long rivulets down his arm, dripping from his fingers onto the pavement at his feet, and it was only a matter of time before the adrenaline faded.
"What about that theater that shut down, over on Landis Street?" he finally asked.
He bent down to lift the woman's unconscious form. "We should move quickly before people start to question what we're doing." he noted.
The sooner they where gone, the better. He returned the knife to its sheath and followed after Snow.
"I don't want to."
"Come on, you hardly touched any of it."
"I'm not hungry."
"Please?"
"I said I'm not hungry."
Vanessa sighed heavily. Sophia had been growing increasingly obstinate since the whole ordeal with Alek, and Vanessa herself was growing increasingly frustrated with the situation. Sophia wouldn't talk to her about it at all, and she didn't even know where to begin with helping her daughter to cope with what had happened.
The matter would have to hold until another day though because Bastien's car pulled up alongside the shoulder of the road. As he got out, Sophia's eyes lit up and she jumped out of her chair.
"Dad!"
He caught her in a hug and lifted her up as she reached him.
"You're getting too big for this you know," he told her.
He noticed the almost hurt look in Vanessa's eyes, that her daughter had lit up like that for Bastien, but wouldn't even speak to her. It sobered his mood and he lowered Sophia back to the ground and took his hand as he approached the table where the pair had been sitting.
"I'll have her back Monday morning," he told Vanessa.
"By nine. We have an appointment," she told him as she picked up Sophia's backpack from the ground and handed it to Bastien.
"Ready?" he asked Sophia.
She grinned and nodded her head emphatically, and a few minutes later the pair where on their way.
Now it was Vanessa's turn to not be particularly hungry and she pushed her half-finished plate away and placed a few paper notes down on the table as she prepared to leave.
"-- I'm on my way now, Admiral. I'm headed out to my shuttle as we speak." He said through the car phone which was connected to Admiral Hanley, who was on her way to the Wing City Spaceport.
"Well, don't tarry too long, your Century doesn't have an FTL Drive, so you'll need me to get out of the System." She replied, and Raphael nodded. "I'm working on it..." He said, creeping through the streets until he saw a familiar face stepping out of the Corner Cafe.
"Admiral- I gotta go." He said, hanging up, and bringing his gaze onto Vanessa as he pulled the car forward, turning sharply towards the Cafe, the car's spherical tires screeching on the pavement, and it's engine revving.
She grimaced and looked away as she made her way down the sidewalk. Hopefully he hadn't taken notice of her, because she really did not want to deal with him right now.
Raphael's drunken antics hadn't left a particularly good impression on her.
As she tried to get away, the darkly tinted driver side window started to roll down, and Raphael stared at Vanessa before shouting. "Hey, Bitch!" He said, before he briefly flashed a gun in the window, the Disruptor pistol from the night earlier. "Come here, don't make a scene." He called out, an audible whine coming from the weapon that was kept just above the door.
"Get over here." He demanded. "I'm not playing with you! Get in here before I fucking shoot you!"
She pulled the passenger door open and smoothly slid inside the vehicle.
"What do you want?" she asked.
It wasn't what she wanted to say, but he did have a gun in his hand. The very same one he had tried to use on Desmond the night prio.r
"You shouldn't have humiliated me in that bar." He said, putting the car in gear and starting forward. "Now let's go for a drive." He added, somewhat mockingly as they began to move through the streets of Lutetia.
"Don't want to miss out on all the fun do you?" He said, opening the center console with his free hand, inside it was a standard Aschen slave collar.
"Now, put that on around your neck." Raphael ordered, while pulling out onto a main road out of town.
She sat looking out her window as the buildings sped past, and she couldn't completely hide the growing sense of unease. It wasn't just defiance that fueled her refusal. If she where to shift with that thing around her neck, it might well kill her, and it was only a matter of time before she would need to.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked.

"That's going on you at one point or another." He said, squeezing the stock as they turned to the road out of Lutetia. "Your city's a dump." He said, huffing.
"So, I want to know who your friend was, back at that Bar... he and I have a score to settle."
Dearest Flandre
We need to talk.
Meet at this Cafe in Lutetia.
Don't feel obligated to come.
Signed Sirad
She truly did not expect her to show, but Sirad was here as promised and she was scared.
Yes she looked different, far older, she had a more mature body, but she still dressed like a tomboy, denim shorts, a random t-shirt and longer white hair than Flandre likely remembered Sirad with.
Only thing indicating it was her was her two eyes were same as before both different colours.
That was all she needed to see to take off immediately...
"You." As all she could manage to say. "What is it you want of all people?" She had no spatial awareness of her different appearance, perhaps chalking it up to just cosmetic changes without reason. Her concern at this very moment was what this she-devil was doing looking for her.
Sighing she turned away, "But that is no longer who I am... and with this comes realization since I still have all the memories." she paused seemingly unable to speak, until she lifted her face and she was crying, "I was a monster, a fucking monster... and I remember it all... All I did to you... I made you obsessed with me, I made you believe you deserved nothing else. I controlled and robbed you of anything resembling innocence and you are a Vampire and then I threw you to the wayside when I got bored."
Maybe, Flandre would assume this was another cruel joke, but she had likely seen the former Demoness cry and be so honest, "I only want to say one thing... I don't expect forgiveness. I don't deserve it. But know this I am sorry and everything I did to you I live with and honestly when you did as many 'things' as I have done it really shows just how horrifying what I did to you was..."
"Once again I am sorry for everything Flandre. I know you hate me and have every right too... But nothing you can do would hurt me. I have lost everything and now must live with everything I lost, everything I did... Every person I hurt, every relationship I had and those who suffered because they believe an aberration like me could love..."
