Introduction
Robin, who was the leader of the Teen Titans, has become Nightwing and has joined the Young Justice team with hopes of becoming a member of the Justice League. He trains and fights crime all over the world.
Cyborg left the Teen Titans in order to team up with Bumblebee (who is now his girlfriend) and has become the co-leader of his own team. Their goal is to shut down the Hive permanently and though it takes them all over the world they’re doing a good job of it.
Beast Boy has re-joined the Doom Patrol by a personal request from Mento. For a reason Mento refuses to explain he has had a change of heart and values the lives of others more than he did when he banished Beast Boy. Once again a Doom Patrol member, Beast Boy fights the Brotherhood of Evil around the world.
Starfire is far away from the world and its troubles. As princess and heir to the throne now that Blackfire has been banished, she has gone back to help the Tamaranean Empire recover after its war with the Gordanians. She send word that she intends to stay there in the event she must become ruler as she wants to make sure her people get through the troubled times following the war.
Raven is also far and away from Earth as she has left for Azaroth after receiving a call from her mother. After the destruction of Trigon, they were threatened by other demons who had long been oppressed by Trigon. Now they seek to rise up and she is needed to help defeat them.
Though scattered, the original Teen Titans are still very good friends. Once in a while they’ll run into each other and reminisce old memories. On rare occasions they’ll have a meeting to discuss current events and catch up on what’s going on in each other’s lives. And there are some pretty major things going on in each other their lives.
But no that the Titans have moved on, what about Jump City?
Now infested with criminals, Jump City has been over looked. Crime rates are high, police forces are low, and the heroes this small city relies on are far and away protecting the world. It seems the only safe place is in a T shaped tower just beyond the city, standing lonesome in the bay.
Looking at that tower, it almost calls out to you. Maybe you’re an odd kid, even for a teenager, strange in ways normal kids just wouldn’t understand. And as you look at that tower, comparing those days to these, you know you have to stop trying to fit in. You don’t have anyone to teach you, no one to guide you or train you. You don’t even know if there’s anyone else like you. But what you do know is that it’s time from you to step up and be the hero needed to put an end to this villany.
...or maybe start a new begining to the crime.
Not all teens are necessarily unhappy with the crime wave smothering the city. In fact, some thrive on it, and a select few have decided to use their own super powers to become super villains. One group for example is following in the footsteps of a legendary criminal: Slade. Calling themselves "The Apprentices" they have taken over Slade's abandoned base and hate the super heroes who put their master away with a passion. They are led by a young, mysterious form of which very little is known.
Will you join the super villains who seek to dominate Jump City along with the rest of the world? Or will you fight to save it?

Yes, thinking back on it, though the experience was devastating and had changed Melanie, it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing what had happened to her. No she didn’t it wasn’t right that this had happened to her, nor did she linger tormenting herself on the events of the past. She simply had accepted it. After all, it had some benefits. Like limitless knowledge, which enables her to do things she never would have thought of before. Explore virtual realism and cyber robotics in a way she as a human couldn’t have even fathomed. She even had the potential to live forever. And just because there was no way to undo the process didn’t mean she had to spend the rest of her innumerable days grieving.
Instead she could spend them here in what used to be the base of the most famed heroes known to Jump City. The Teen Titans’ T-Tower which had stood alone since the team parted ways. Just off the coast of Jump City on a small island and not yet desecrated by the common criminals of a corrupted Jump City; it had been the perfect place for her to set up in. Granted it had taken some time to get all of the tower’s old systems running properly, and then upgrading them had taken her a good bit longer, but now everything was working again. Alarm systems, electricity and water all functioned as they were meant to along with more personal devices. Cameras that enabled her to project her own image and speaker allowing her to “speak” had been installed all over the island so she could feel a little more human.
Living here on the island was nice. The days were very peaceful far away from the troubled Jump City from where she’d been born. But Melanie became lonely from time to time, seeking more than the company of her virtual companions, as she was still semi human and craved human interaction. She tapped into the remaining cameras in Jump City, planning to content herself with “people watching”. But as she watched she saw things happening that… made her feel… strange. Crimes committed under the cover of night. Injustices that were going unpunished. Sins that were not being brought to light. And people who were hurting because of these evil acts.
These things brought her much unhappiness as she knew what such twisted criminals were capable of doing and wanted to prevent such atrocious fates from falling upon other living people. It was from this point she took control. Linking herself to Jump City she was able to track the criminals and the crimes they’d committed, and began stopping them. She could only do small things from the confines of her base, protecting top secret networks, intercepting messages, stopping hackers and shutting down the virtual villains. But the real troubles of Jump City were not in the virtual world she dominated and she began to feel she wasn’t truly aiding the populace. At least not as much as she could.
So by connecting herself to Mel, her robotic vessel, she took over the robot’s body and was able to leave the island. It took some time before she got used to being “human” again. Walking, speaking and basic skill of a normal human had faded a little from her memory but she learned quick. It wasn’t long at all before she acted perfectly normal, dressing casually and even engaging in conversations without any suspicion. Now prepared, Melanie set foot in the city she’d fled from what seemed like so long ago with a new goal. She was going to save the city as much as she could.
For the first few months Melanie had kept her acts in the wee hours of darkness, never drawing any attention and keeping her deeds few and far between so no one would get suspicious. But as time wore on she began fighting the evil of the city more and more, upgrading Mel to take on more challenging tasks and slowly her courage became known. Nefarious criminals were miraculously captured, plots exposed before they could be seen through and a few people testify that they had seen a dark figure preforming impossible tasks for a human being. The police and people, thankful, tried to track down the young hero but had no leads besides the fact this mysterious person had golden eyes which were repeatedly said to glow in the dark.
Melanie keeps herself hidden from the public’s eyes, glad to know her risks are making a difference, but not wanting to expose herself. After all, her goal was to bring safety to the city, not fame to her name. Of course, despite the good acts she performed the city was still overrun with evil villains, far too numerous for her to dispose of. Still she does what she can, staying out of the spotlight while bring criminals to it. Today, though, she made a mistake. She fought in the open, and she fought with a human-beast who was obviously much stronger than she. And still was.
It was some time after dusk and the moon had long ago risen in the sky. She’d been fighting the creature for almost an hour and her battery was rapidly dropping because of the effort she was putting into trying to bring it down while not getting smashed. His appearance of a tribal boy was very deceiving. From a DNA sample she’d gotten out of a few strands of off-white hair in an attempt to identify him but the closest match was a breed of mountain gorilla that had long ago gone extinct (besides they didn’t even live on the continent).
So the extent of her knowledge on this new threat based off the DNA test was that he was some sort of mountain humanoid gorilla beast. It didn’t take any kind of test to see that he was also highly territorial. He’d claimed a restaurant with a park area around it as his nest and was very reluctant to leave it, although the humans who’d been in the area before had quickly left upon his arrival.
Melanie had intended to simply remove him in the night, hopefully while he sleep and return him to the mountains she predicted she’d come from. Of course, as it turned out, he had a fear of heights and when he woke up roughly one story above the ground he’d spazzed. This led to a prolonged struggle between the two where Melanie, not wanting to hurt him but not wanting him to venture into the more highly populated areas of the city, was stuck staying at a distance and trying to make such he didn’t leave the park. So far her efforts to remove him without damage being inflicted to either of them had been futile. This was not looking good...
-------
White had arrived in the strange metal forest earlier that day, striding through the rocky ground on which the two-walkers crowded and mingled with large metal beasts. It had be the strangest place he had ever seen, yet the territory itself seemed quite valuable. Easy access to valuable ores in the form of metal trees and beasts along with the two-walkers which looked quit similar to him though seemed a little strange. One of the two-walkers had even presented him with a tasty meat-worm that tasted almost exactly like boar.
Upon realizing that he had potentially found the perfect territory to claim as his own, White found a nice hollowed out trunk of a metal-tree, which he found many stored meat hordes. Even if they were a little cold. Though he had need to run off a few two-walkers from the area which seemed quite aggressive despite the lack of any markings on the territory. Though after he had intimidated the aggressive two-walkers, the rest of the ones inhabiting the trunk had cleared out quite quickly. He had been happy that they seemed to let him have the area so easily and took it as a sign that they wanted them as their king.
Though later, some troublemaking two-walkers covered in blue and making loud noises had showed up. He scared them off quite easily by showing off his strength and tossing around one of their smaller metal beasts which they rode. After that he had retired to his new hollowed out trunk, eating some of the cold meat and then falling asleep just as the sun set.
That was the last thing White remembered before finding himself floating up in the air. He had immediately thrashed around, as he does in most scary dreams like that. Though he quickly found that he was being carried by some sort of two-walker what apparently had invisible wings.
-----------
White stopped a moment in his search for the flying two-walker. For the first time in the hour they had been fighting he wondered why the creature had been trying to carry him off. It seemed to be quite determined in dethroning him from his newly acquired territory, though he did not know exactly why. It had made no claim to ownership and he hadn’t noticed any scent markings in metal forest that smelled like the creature. Then he realized it!
“YOU WOLN”T BE ABLE TO EAT ME! I’M TOO STRONG!” He yelled out in his native ogre tongue. That was it! This creature was trying to eat him! I must be some kind of mysterious shape shifting bird which preyed on the relatively passive two-walkers. A wide grin spread across White’s face as he darted his gaze around, looking for the creature. Surely his new subjects the two-walkers would thank him for slaying this dangerous predator. They might even give him some more of those delicious meat-worms.
“COME ON THEN!” He yelled as he beat his chest once with his right fist. He kept his eyes peeled, searching the small, real forest that the creature and him had been fighting in. If he could lure it into attacking and get a hold of it, perhaps he could stun it long enough to retrieve his club from the hollow metal tree trunk he had made his home in earlier. He was sure it had to still be nearby. With that, he would be able to slay the beast easily!
He had come to learn the art of parkour out of pure necessity. If you steal something and someone sees you, there is typically a chase, and whoever is faster and more flexible will be the victor. So, what easier way to ensure you can escape than by scaling things most normal people would not dare attempt? He could scale damn near any building, so long as it had some place to grip, and now even those that didn’t have much with the use of his ability – Static Stepping. With a zip and a zap, he could clear gaps which the average human could not leap by becoming a bolt of blue lightning himself. For whatever reason, he never had a problem returning back to his original form as if nothing happened. This was good, considering that buying new clothes after each use would put a heavy strain on his pockets. I would say wallet, but he doesn’t have one.
Something was pretty ‘off’ this night though, regardless of the usual silence that crawled over Jump City. As he neared a local park, he noticed that the night began to sound less and less quiet. The sound of a struggle shot through the air, along with heavy breaths. Of course, the young electrified hero had gotten curious since he was not the one pounding sense into someone, and after a hop, skip and a zap, he landed on the nearest available roof to the park, which gave him a mediocre view of the happening he could listen to.
What he spotted was a snow-headed young boy in a scruffle with a beautiful blonde girl. Evans raised an eyebrow curiously as to why these two short people had gotten into a fight. What’s more strange is that by their movements, they weren’t necessarily normal (then again, the boy had something reminiscent of horns growing from his head). The blows coming from him were packed with a visible punch. Cutie, as she would be named until he got one from her – if he got one from her – was able to take some of these and continue on, though strain was apparent on her face, from what he could manage to make out.
It was clear that the girl did not have enough strength to continue on forever, and Prince Smashing (another nickname) didn’t look exhausted in the least. To anyone with a heart, or who knew what a superhero did, the course of action for Sprouse was pretty obvious.
He was worried this night would be quiet anyways.
Sprouse swiftly descended the building he had been perched atop while he was observing them. It took no more than two and a half seconds, since a few flashes helped him quicken his pace. As his feet hit the ground, he started in a jog. Cool superheroes don’t run when making an entrance. Anyone should know that. It took only a second more before he was within range to attack, be attacked and speak. He did the latter of the few after the boy spoke in a language that sounded like a bear getting it on with a moneky. “Having fun without me, you two? I’m offended. I run around all night with no action, and here you two are, fighting to your heart’s content all without myself. Now now, don’t fret. I’m a forgiving man, but maybe you could explain yourselves?” the smile on his face almost made it look like he didn’t’ appreciate the seriousness of the event he had stumbled upon.
He was on his way. breathing softer than he had been moments before. He had to calm himself, as the fact of him being able to assume his fathers position as pirate lord had overtaken him with a bit of hyper-ventilation. That was the one goal he wanted above all else, to be a great leader like his father before him. He rolled his head back into a plug, fitting it into the appropriate socket at the base of his neck. A real-time view was displayed, and he watched himself go feet first into hell, no nausea of course, he was accustomed to high-speeds. His own personal craft, the Ultistar, was one of the fastest recorded in all of the universe. It was currently in orbit, waiting to be dropped at his beck and call. He focused, causing the view to zoom in, trying to infer the point of his landing. It looked like he was going to land in a a small patch of greenery. As he plummeted closer, he observed that, it wan't actually that small. He adjusted his collar, making sure to set the language setting to adaptive. He just as easily could have programmed it into his mouth, that like the rest of his body, wasn't entirely organic, but unfortunately, he did not like learning things from a kiss like the Tamaraneans, the galactic super-race which his family staged many a raid on, succeeding almost every time. He was so at home with raiding, that it would probably be no problem to conquer..the entire planet. Maybe total war wouldn't be the best course. As the altitude dropped rapidly on the Altimeter, Reguthul T'Iural came up with an idea that would less likely end with his death.
He was going to become the greatest hero ever.
He removed the plug from the socket, and checked to see that his tools were in the correct places. The L.P.D., or landing point designator, was safely tucked into his pocket, and his three, cherished, promethium Battle Horns, were locked into a wall. He snapped them out of their holding nooks one by one, releasing one to let float as he went to the next. His Bio-magnetism was to thank for that, he was able to exchange each one with a martial art taught to him. Hiten.
A warning light flickered, and he stood, waiting for landing. The jet-engines hummed, and began to push under him, trying to reduce the impact speed. The matte , solid wall in front of him glowed and turned transparent. He was through the cloud cover, burning through the atmosphere.

He stood as the pod made impact in the park. As the door jettisoned open, flying an odd meter or so, Reguthul stepped out into the sizable crater left by his entry. His three horns floating around him. The first thing that was necessary was language, so as he heard yelling from a ways away, he chose to turn, collect the horns into a bunch and suspend them behind his back (so it looked like they were hanging there), and walked straight towards the ruckus. There were two. A young male was it? perhaps this was, Oh...
This was earth.
Shit.
Maybe it was better that he hadn't brought the mech after all. he stepped up to join in the conversation with the boy, a girl, and that... thing
“YOU WOLN”T BE ABLE EAT ME! I’M TOO STRONGRRRAH!”
He spoke?
He could communicate!
A smile lit up Melanie’s face just as a wide grin spread across his, growing as his eyes searched for her but failed to spot her from her concealed place. He roared again, beating his chest fiercely, which she translated as a challenge.
“CURM ON THEN!”
So she did. Cautiously stepping out from her hiding place and into his line of sight she looked him over, tensed in case he charged. ’Maybe I can talk to him,’ Melanie thought, golden eyes fixed on the boy who was glaring right back at her, cheeks still red. ’He attacks like a beast would, but his strategy and technique says otherwise.’ Her computer brain racing in place of her heart, ’If I can just get close enough without being attacked maybe I can communicate with him.’
Of course, before she got a chance there was another, less guttural voice. “Having fun without me, you two? I’m offended. I run around all night with no action, and here you two are, fighting to your heart’s content all without myself.” Melanie’s eyes found the source of the voice and identified it as a man. He was obviously a human, dark hair, tan skin and everything. His words made his cocky demeanor apparent as he scolded the two of them playfully. “Now, now, don’t fret. I’m a forgiving man, but maybe you could explain yourselves?”Melanie was quiet, not trusting herself to speak until she’d had a moment to think.
A moment was all it took for the human super-computer.
”Alright; I don’t know who or what he is but he thinks this is his territory and that I intend to eat him.” Melanie said, her voice carefully void of betraying emotions besides a distinct urgent tone. She paused after each time she referred to herself, clearly advising that this new comer leave before he got hurt. ”I need to get him away from here before someone gets hurt. He seems able to communicate, and since I can’t physically remove him, I might be able to talk to him.” Then, without another word she stepped forward she spread her arms in a gesture dismissing hostility, although she was notably standing a careful distance away before she took a deep (and unnecessary) breath.
”I do not want to hurt you!” Of course, Melanie felt very stupid shouting the simple phrase so slowly, but she didn’t know how good the tribal beast’s concept of understand was. ”I am Melanie. I come to protect the people here.” She hesitated a moment, then added, ”The small, two legs. People.” and made a gesture with her hand with two fingers walking. Though she was not blushing it was clear the exchange was making the girl feel awkward as this was very embarrassing, but especially degrading to her super-computer mentality.
So mortified was she that Melanie did not even notice the approach of… some kind of robot? The power levels it was giving off was the reason it finally caught her attention. Trying to identify the mech, she was unable to and guessed by the intricate design it was not known to this world. Of course, this was her computer brain thinking. Her human thoughts were a little more like, ’What the flip is going on!? A beast? An alien? This sounds like the start of a bad joke...!’ Melanie always had a good sense of humor.
Abaddon watched through the eyes of the drone and was searching for a match to the ape's tongue in order to communicate with it. He finally finds one, one of a frost troll of sorts. Abaddon then sends the info of this new tongue to the drones with a wireless connection of sorts. The squad then stand up stiff as a green light flashes in their eyes. The green light fades away and the drones get back in their position. They then split up and surround the area involving the heroes as they charge at each of them, ready to attack.
Abaddon watched as the drones charged. One of the drones threw a little bead of sorts towards the ape's head. It then lightly lands in the ape's ear, stuck in it. Abaddon then puts his hand inside his own hood and speaks to the ape with his new 'walkie talkie'. "Hello my friend, I understand that this 'creature' will attack you. So just fight it! Don't hold back with your strength and fight the others too." says Abaddon in the ape's tongue. He had to pause a bit after every word in order to find the translation on his super-computer.
His anger growing, White was just about to charge the creature out of impatience, when his attention was grabbed by a rather soft, yet intricate stream of noises. He snapped his head in the direction of the noises to see a two-walker approaching slowly. White cocked his head to the side at the appearance of the two-walker. There was no fear in its eyes, it even looked rather relaxed as it approached.
Before White could figure out why the two-walker was approaching, he heard a similar soft stream of intricate noises coming from the flying creature. He snapped his attention back to the shape shiftier as it apparently called out to the approaching two-walker. This went on for a few seconds before the golden eyes turned back towards White. He stepped back as the creature spread its arms out to the side, though he quickly recognized this as a intimidation tactic. The bird-thing was making itself look bigger to try and scare him.
Then the golden eyed creature called out in a rather strange fashion, it was like it was trying to speak, but it was indecipherable by the young ogre. The creature continued talking as it made strange motions with it's hands. White squinted his eyes in confusion and suspicion. It looked like it was trying to be submissive in some way. It's demeanor had changed quite a lot from when they had been fighting earlier.
A snapping twig alerted White to the appearance of yet another two-walker. This one even looked quite weak and sickly. He started darting his head back and forth between the two two-walkers and the bird-thing. All this was starting to confuse him. None of it made sense. He grit his teeth. He didn't understand. Why weren't the two-walkers running from their predator the bird thing?
Then, in perhaps the most strange turn of events, a small little bug flew in White's ear. Then he heard a voice coming from it. As he dug in his ear it spoke in broken words. He could only understand a few of the words, but the intention was sort of clear. The voice was telling him to attack the bird creature and the two-walkers. Unable to dig out the bug, White shook his head and it dislodged.
Finally, White gave up in anger. Two-walkers unafraid of their predators? Talking bugs? It didn't matter. He would just take out the golden eyed bird-thing. In his annoyance and focus on the golden eyed girl, White failed to notice the charging drones.
"I'M THE KING OF THESE TWO-WALKERS! YOU CAN'T EAT THEM EITHER!" White yelled in his language as he rushed the bird-thing. His plan was tackle it to the ground and then he would have the advantage. Surely he was better at grappling than any kind bird creature!
She was already annoyed from all of the yelling, waking her from her slumber on the cold bench. Reaching for a quarter in one of her pockets, she stood up and started walking over in their direction.
"Anyways, beauties, can you just lower it so I can go back to sleep?"
---
Earlier that day, Rachel had wandered through the park, just to pass time, as she didn't really have much to do aside from wandering from place to place within the confines of Jump City. R'hul had been annoying her with his usual "do this, do that, you should help that lady, you shouldn't do that" mumbo jumbo, and she was just trying to stay away from him mentally. Quite a hard feat to accomplish when two minds are sharing a single body.
She had heard reports about this man-ape thing, but had simply put the whole idea of it aside, and had simply went on with her usual activities list of doing things a normal person would do. But Rachel had guessed that she had fallen asleep on one of the park benches for some time before.
---
Taking notes of these wierd people around her, she wanted to peacefully settle this before R'hul would go rambo-style and do more damage than what would be neccessary. Some young male in a black and yellow jacket and jeans, somewhere in his twenties perhaps. He looked familiar, but Rachel just wasn't able to put her finger on the idea of where she could have seen him before. Then there some frail kid that had one word to describe him - wierd...
And then there was the blond haired girl that was no taller than her. Not much told Rachel who-or what she was- so she had simply passed her eyes over to the man-ape thing that the others decided to circle around.
White hair... horns... scantily clad... this character was quite out of the ordinary, belonging in the mountainside and not in the city.
"Well, beauties, what's it going to be? Settle this elsewhere and let me go back to sleep, or do I need to bring out Big Nasty? And you really don't want him around."
"Well, beauties, what's it going to be? Settle this elsewhere and let me go to sleep, or do I need to bring out Big Nasty? And you really don't want him around."
Well, there was always fun in challenge. He would make sure to yell heartily in a pirate fashion before dying. His translation module re-routed itself from its collar into his jaw, and he stepped forward. Walking up to her, he bent over, grabbed the back of her head, tilted his own, moved in,
And sealed whatever fate lied ahead of him. The buzzing of something being completely blocked out by his focus, and anticipation.
’Dang…’ she thought, her gold eyes locking on the gorilla guy, following his every movement, watching for the next attack, ’I cannot hold up this charade all night. I must fly lest he reach me, but I’m almost halfway through my battery life and it’s barely been an hour.’ The ape man, having missed his target, was quickly recuperating. ’I must find a way to subdue him long enough I can communicate with him. If I cannot find a compromise, I will have to find a solution and remove him from the city. But how?’ Melanie’s mind was racing for a solution when suddenly it struck her.
She really couldn’t do this on her own. Yes, she desperately wanted to, and she wanted to do it without drawing the attention of the people around. People she couldn’t allow to know what she was. Not so much a secret identity but what she was, and what she could do. In fact, that was probably the last thing she wanted! Fame and glory to her name meant eventually the media would discover what she was. Perhaps she was paranoid, but deep down she did not want anyone to know what she could do. What she was. Even who she was! No one was supposed to know anything!
But here she was in a situation she couldn’t win and there were others who’d stepped in for no apparent reason to help her out. If she were going to preserve her identity as well as her life, she’d need to take advantage of the situation. Quickly she turned towards the man who’d she’d informed of the situation moments ago. ”I don’t know who you are or why you’re here, but if you can help me I can’t handle this guy by myself.” Though this directly conflicted with Melanie’s sense of dignity, Meliore was strictly an actions-based-on-logic system and was taking over like she did whenever the situation became pressing. ”I think if we can subdue him I can communicate with him, but-“ her sentence was cut off by an infuriated roar and her body whipped around to face the enraged and only half dressed bohemoth.
Among many different responses, Sprouse was not really expecting such an answer from her. Evans just laughed a bit in response. “Eat him? Really?” Considering how the fight appeared to be going, Sprouse would believe it if it were the other way around but….. “What else?”
“I need to get him away from here before someone gets hurt. He seems to be able to communicate, but since I can’t physically remove him, I might be able to talk to him.”
“You can try that but…..err….” Sprouse was cut off as she took a step forward and struck an odd pose. To top the oddity off, she then started to speak slowly, which evoked a small smile from Sprouse, who was standing back to watch the whole affair. So far, this situation had probably been the most comedic out of anything he had been involved in in quite a while….and he had only been there for five minutes! Less, even!
Evans was simply watching for a moment, but then noticed something odd about the girl in front of him. He couldn’t quite place it, but he ‘felt’ something about her that was not necessarily normal. But what was it? Almost felt like she had more electrical currents running through her than a person should, but that couldn’t be right. She probably had some form of machine enhancing her or something. Evans dismissed the feeling and concentrated on the the white-haired brute until….
*CRASH*
Something that looked like a drop pod from a space movie had came from the sky. When a robotic-looking fellow stepped out of it, Sprouse assumed that that was in fact what it was. “Guess we’ve got a party star—“
Cut off by an attack by some form of drone, Evans retaliated via a small lightning bolt to the little bugger. While it did not take long for him to hit the thing, he missed seeing the drone shoot something into the brute’s ear. He would have probably not have understood why the brute was shouting in the first place, but because he was not speaking English, it was pointless to try to comprehend the screaming.
“Who died and made you king?” yet another person stated, coming out from the darkness of the night. It didn’t make sense to him at first, but he then realized that maybe she could understand Smashing. She was a young girl, who wore a green tanktop and for some reason, attracted Sprouse’s eye a bit more than the other girl. She continued. “Anyways, beauties, can you just lower it so I can go back to sleep?”
Sprouse smiled. Was this love? She seemed like a really cool person. Ignoring the obvious danger of the situation and speaking so nonchalantly…. Oh wait, maybe he was just a narcissist. She acted like him, a bit. Yeah, that was probably it. He couldn’t say he didn’t like himself, and things that remind him of himself. She continued after a delay, during which, Sprouse was checking her out. Not so much in a flirty sense, but just seeing if there was anything about her that her looks would give away. Aside from the quarter she was flipping, nothing. “Well, beauties, what’s it going to be? Settle this elsewhere and let me get back to sleep, or do I need to bring out Big Nasty? And you really don’t want him around.”
Sprouse smirked. “Well, I’m glad you can see perfection when it’s staring at you, but let us not digress. I believe this is a public park, and you’re just going to have to deal with us for the moment.” He explained, calm as ever. “Sorry, but it’s too nice out not to play…” and then the girl’s voice from before reached his ears before he could speak to Green any longer. “You need help?” he asked. “Well all you had to do is ask. I’m sure Macho Man over there would prefer playing rough with another boy, no? Question is; Conscious, or unconscious?” he asked simply, referring to what condition she wanted the brute in. “Oh, and I’m Sprouse. But you can call me Livewire, if you want.”
"It matters not anymore whether you are bright now, your darkness was revealed to me once. I will purge it. I will purge this corrupt city of both its law-keepers and law-breakers, only the innocent will survive. After that, they will have to grow strong." Slowly, Krótos took off his mask, allowing the city a rare glimpse of his scarred face, his blind, milky eyes staring into the distance. "Did you hear me?" Krótos asked, directing his voice at the camera behind him, he made sure he was turned away from it so his face would not be seen. "This is the last time I will visit your little tower as a neutral bystander. Now, I'm coming for you, little Titan. As a symbol of the City's corruption and dependence on useless heroes, you will be first." At that, Krótos put his mask back on, making sure it was on completely before turning around and walking over to the camera. Slowly, Krótos's masked face lowered down, level to the little camera. "Prepare yourself, little Titan. My name is Krótos. Remember it. For what little time you have left will be haunted by it." He said before pulling the camera off of its little stand, disconnecting it from the Tower's power supply before crushing it in his gloved hand and dropping the pieces. At that, Krótos stood fully and walked over to the edge of the tower, rubbing his hands together to remove any remnants of the camera from his gloves. He slowly looked over the edge, smirked beneath his mask, and let himself fall.
Krótos felt the air rushing past him, the pure exhilaration of speed flowing through his whole body. As he dropped, he drug his hand along the side of the tower, each impact filling his body with power. When the force he'd absorbed from building was sufficient he flipped in mid air, performing a double full twist before planting his feet on the side of Titan's tower and pushing off, using all of the force from his previous impacts to rocket himself into the air, over the bay and into the city. Since he'd allowed the glass behind him to achieve a perfectly singularly elastic collision with his feet, it appeared he hadn't even touched the building. He allowed the force being exerted on the glass to be dissipated perfectly, without any damage to the glass after his feet were finished pushing off. The leftover energy converting into a massive CRACK. It was so loud it sounded like a sonic boom. The glass held against the pressure of the noise, and by the time it reached Krótos, he was already halfway over the bay. The only trace he'd ever been there at all was the message he'd left to the Tower's tenant and the crushed camera.
Krótos smiled under his mask, despite the filth that raced below him, there was nothing like flying. As gravity eventually grasped him, Krótos flipped in the air, allowing his feet to touch the ground first. As he touched down, he dug his heels in, tearing up pavement and absorbing the force from his impact. While it wasn't his classiest landing, it filled him with crazy amounts of energy. Krótos felt his ankles and knees complain, but it didn't matter, he was already bent down close to the earth and in the process of launching once again. Just as he felt himself slowing, Krótos fired the muscles in his legs and blasted out of gravity's grip once more. Krótos flew through the air, throwing his hand out and catching a nearby horizontal flagpole, spinning around it and filling his arms with energy from the countless impacts derived from the rotation. He pushed off, rocketing once more into the air, flipping once before diving back down onto the pole and using the energy he absorbed from the impact to fuel his next jump. Using the pole like a springboard, Krótos rocketed over the city, not touching down until he managed to make it all the way over to his small apartment on the west side. Krótos clambered into the window of his room, only taking off his mask once he'd drawn the curtains behind him.
Krótos sighed, tiredly pulling off his suit and weapons. He folded them, and placed them down on the floor next to a box filled with small, explosive charges. Krótos's first target was a local Justice of the Peace. He was a known receiver of bribes, a scoundrel, and a prime example of the scum infesting the city. He had written accounts, eyewitness accounts, and a recording he'd secured himself after acting as a member of a local gang. Krótos had come to him, offering money as a reward for letting some filth back out into the streets. Krótos had caught him mugging a civilian not five hours later and returned him back into jail. This "House of Justice", was the first of Krótos's targets. It served two purposes, a lesson for the rot pervading the city, and bait for the Titan. Would they come to save a known corrupted Judge from his deserved fate? Or would they leave him to die? Either way, Krótos's message would be heard by all. He looked forward to it. As soon as he'd finished preparing his weapons, suit, and masks, Krótos went to sleep. He was tired, and would need his rest for his mission later this week.
When Rachel realized that this stranger was speaking to her, she narrowed her eyes into a slight glare towards him. For a split second her eyes had connected with his, but even though it was much less that a second, it was simply for the purpose of sending the message of don't mess with me.
Flipping the quarter one last time, she snatched it out of the air with her right hand, then immediately crossed her arms as an attempt to intimidate.
"Well, sweets. You're not perfect yourself -" but almost instantly as those words left her mouth, her head tilted back...
...and felt the lips of somebody else land upon hers. Within a split second, she realized that it was the weird, frail-looking kid, and she didn't realize of how tall he really was until right now. Taken completely by surprise, her eyes wide, she uncrossed her arms, with the next feeling being that with her left hand, rolled up into a slight fist, making contact with her assailant's cheek. Immediately, she pushed herself away from him, her hand slightly throbbing in pain as if she had punched a brick wall.
Stepping back towards a nearby trashcan, she rummaged blindly through it to find some form of defensive weapon, and found one. She removed it, noticing that it was...
...a spoon?! This could totally work, need a little help here, robobrain, she thought to herself, hopefully trying to get some mental assistance from the alien that resided within her own head. After all, some stranger had attempted to kiss her, but he was just not her type. Silly girl, he was trying to learn your native language. As if you didn't know, I connected to the communication device that was in his mouth.
Why couldn't you just say that before?
Because you didn't ask...
It was apparent that she was arguing to herself, as the thoughts of the two personalities argued against one another, until she snapped her attention back to the stranger that had tried to kiss her.
"Look kiddo, I don't know who any of you are, and I just want to go back to sleep, but I have this spoon and a quarter, and I'm not afraid to use either one!"
As an electrical current became visible around her, snaking itself around her body, Rachel took quick aim at a nearby drone, and tossed the spoon in its direction, instantly vanishing. A split second later, the spoon had reappeared, its destination ending up within the side of the unlucky drone's head, where it had done some noticeable damage, as the energized projectile had ripped out half of the drone's head off with a built up charge of electricity and the sheer amount of inertia.
"Well, no more spoon, but I still have a quarter. What's it going to be, sweetcheeks, are you going to apologize to me, or do I have to go bain-capital and restructure somebody's face?"
Letting out a small squeal, Aura jumped up and back, landing on her butt. “Geez… I didn’t actually expect something to happen,” She smiled as she stood up and brushed off her spandex outfit. Many people would find it uncomfortable, but she had to wear leotards for gymnastics so this was a step up. It outlined her body shape, every curve and movement. Aura waited patiently for another sound, in hopes of following it. It wasn’t in any language she understood, and she spoke many. Another loud sound was sent through the city. “The park. Got it. Now… how to get there…” She pondered on her few options. Looking left, she saw that the next roof top was a few stories down. “Let’s hope this works…” Aura mumbled as she momentarily took a step back, than sprinted towards the edge. Moving her hands in a swirling motion, a little cushion of air formed directly underneath her, and she went into her tuck and roll position.
Aura landed with a grunt, and rolled a few feet. “It worked!” She exclaimed happily as she leapt to her feet, but a bit too soon. Her legs suddenly felt like lead, and she dropped onto her knees. “Damn… I’ve got to make sure I don’t over work myself…” She said in-between pants to regulate her breathing. After a few moments, she stood once more, and gazed across to the other roof. It was about the same level as the one she was currently on, maybe a few feet shorter. She took another running leap and landed this one a bit more gracefully, not have to tuck and roll.
A few building leaps later, she was located on the roof only across the street from the park. Looking over the edge, she realized just how tall this building was. She had underestimated. It was about ten stories high. “If I fail… I’m dead. Lets do it!” Aura spoke to herself, getting ready before she started to think how stupid of an idea this was. “Its not flying, its falling with style!” She yelled as she ran full force at the edge.
Just before reaching the side, Aura jumped, pushing off as hard as she can with her legs. Completing a front flip, she allowed her body to spiral like a football. You could see a… shell of sorts form around her. Her rate of decent was gradually lessened, until she was even with the ground. Her air bullet cocoon was flickering on and off. Aura stuck her hands out in front of her, her palms facing out. The mini-whirlwind slowed, until it just disappeared. Aura found herself, once again, in the tuck and roll position. She rolled quite a bit until she rammed into some trash cans with a loud clatter. Her spine straightened out, and she was lying flat on her back, the world spinning.
Letting out a loud groan, Aura sat up slowly, putting her hand on her head. “Ow… never again…” She muttered. As far as she could tell, her head wasn’t bleeding, so that was good. Rolling each of her shoulders, she stood up, and glanced around. Good thing no one noticed… Letting out a sigh of relief she stood up and looked at the park only across the street. I hope the beast that made that sound didn’t notice either… Crouching down, she creeped across the street. The bushes made for good camouflage… well it probably would have if she wasn’t wearing a bright blue and red spandex outfit. She just hoped that no one would be smart enough the see her. Poking her head out, she could see a man barely wearing anything, a girl with blonde hair, and two other guys, one of which who looked like he was twenty. Yet another girl spoke from where she was asleep on a bench. “What in the world is going on here…” She was completely dumb founded when some robots attacked them. Blinking, she pulled her head back into the bush, not noticing how much noise she made. Sitting in the bush, her legs were crossed, and she was deep in thought.
"Sorry about that lass," He apologized, massaging his bruised cheek, "just wanted to get me bearings." He pulled a didge from behind him, turned, then slammed a drone down into the grass. It seemed that people were piling up, he made a head count just for a record he was probably never going to use, "Alright, we have the ape-thing, that girl who just flies, this guy, a bit to edgy for me tastes, and then of course," he turned to Rachel, that is, if she even knew her own name. "Me little Lexicon. I apologize again, but I can probably solve this problem."
He took out another didge, and held the third out behind him, ready for a bit of exchange action. A robot charged him, bearing down on him as his target merely walked towards the mechanical assailant. As the grotesque mech reeled back for a punch, he was met with a blow to the face. The head spun around, only to stop, staring straight down the long, promethium horn. Reguthul, or in the earthen translation, Rénard, was holding onto it with two hands, leaving the other two to float behind him in an X-pattern.
His focus was a large, blast note. Short, loud, and bursting. The drone itself had no idea what he was in for, and was quickly shaken apart. Trees in the direction of the blast zone rustled loud enough for the rest of the drones to hear.
"WHO THINKS THEY CAN BEST ME? YE ARTIFICIAL DOGS!"
By the time White had finished with the minor annoyance that was the metal drone, he snapped his head back and forth looking for the golden eyed bird. There were so many figures in the area however, it was taking longer for him to find what he was looking for than he would have liked. Becoming even more irritated, he let out a yell in frustration. Though just as he finished his ears picked up the same soft sound that had come from the bird thing earlier. As he looked in the direction from which it came, he finally spotted the bird, who was dangerously close to the two-walker that had been the first of many to show up recently.
White meant to yell for the creature to get away from his two-walker subject, but instead it came out as more of a primal roar. Though that did tend to happen sometimes with his race. Enraged at the idea of this extremely annoying creature might try and make prey of the two-walker like she had tried to fly off with White earlier, he rushed the golden eyed bird once again. Though this time he instinctively changed up his attack pattern.
As White drew close in the dead out sprint he rammed his heels into the earth, which tore up the ground, but succeeded in slowing him to a stop just as he reached the bird creature. Then he pulled back both arms as though he were going to strike each side of the golden eyed creature at once. This was merely a feint however, as instead of striking with his arms, he quickly cocked back his head then flung it forward with all the strength he could muster. If it connected, he was sure the beast would be stunned, as the well aimed headbutt would impact the golden eyed creature directly on the forehead.
"I suppose Ill help the women and children tonight, at least there is hope for some of them." He says with a sigh, jumping out of a window and heading into the city. He runs along the roof tops of tall buildings not afraid of falling, the city will guide him to the correct path as it always does. As he patrols the night he sees a young girl, she looked no older than he, on the corner of a street dressed in revealing clothes. The Night Watcher drops down to street level a block away and walks by her, "Hey hun, looking for some fun tonight?" she asks him with a wink. "What are you doing with your life? Do you enjoy this life? I know you're miserable, the men you spend your nights with treat you with no respect. You deserve respect, you deserve better than this, go home to your mother and father, or whatever family it is you have run away from and let them help you. Return to school and make something of yourself." She was stunned for a moment before responding "What gives you the right to ask me these questions? You're no older than me, and you are walking through the same shady part of town that I am, why should I listen to you?" He is not at all stunned by her direct question and responds quite easily "That is quite simple, I came here to help you. My mother died doing what you are doing, it's a miserable life, one I don't want to see anyone else go through so please try and help yourself" She nods not saying anything and at that he scurries up a nearby fire escape making his way back to the rooftops but before he get's far he hears her call up to him again "What's your name?"She asks him, and he smiles at her "They call me The Night Watcher, it is my duty to watch over the city in the night protecting the innocent and helping those that I can." He said leaving her as he ran across rooftops disappearing into the Night.
"Livewire huh? Interesting nickname." Melanie mused for a moment before replying, "Alright Livewire, conscious is preferable but-" Melanie never got to finish her sentence as she was startled by a bellow of rage coming from the ape man. She turned around to see him charging towards her but just before he ran into he his dug his heels into the ground and raised his arms. Melanie tensed to fly up and out of range again but suddenly, aided by his momentum, he pitched foreward and rammed his head against her chest.
Melanie went soaring, and not of her own will.
Skidding around the ground Melanie was stunned by the brutal impact. Mel's body had designed to take lots of damage and work fine but that much power in one hit had knocked something loose inside of her. Melanie didn't know what it was yet but she knew it wasn't good, and to take another smashing like that could do more damage than she could repair. This really wasn't good. As she opened her gold eyes again she saw something that truely surprised her.
Two robots stood over her, reaching for her, probably thinking to subdue her. 'Just what I need,' Melanie thought, a small smirk playing across her face, 'A little energy boost!' Grabbing the heads of the two droids who began to struggle, apparently surprised at how strong this 'human girl' was, but it did little good. Digging her fingers into their heads, through the metal and into the circits, Melanie quickly overpowered them. A moment later they stood motionless before Melanie let go and they collapsed. Her eyes were glowing, but only ever so slightly. She shruged slightly, then turned to face the beast, a little wiser than moments before.
These droids had been sent by someone they called Leader to attack her and anyone who got in the way. Additionally, they weere to bring the beast back to a location that had not yet been defined. As it turned out, he was some type of frost troll (what ever that was). It held little more information than this and it's plan of attack, but what it did having installed was a translator to the Frost Troll's native tongue. This was precisely what Melanie had needed.
Once again facing her enraged opponent she switched her speakers and opened her mouth, calling out in the Frost Troll's language (diction and dialect perfected, though it was rough on her mechanical voice).
"STOP! I DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT YOU!" Melanie shouted, her voice now sounding very similar to his, only with a slightly higher voice (she couldn't help she was a female). "I DO NOT WANT TO HURT YOU! I WANT TO HELP! STOP!"
"I'm not going to go.." The shadow seemed to exaggeratedly sighed, before flying off as far as he could, pointing at the direction of the tremor. It flailed its hands in the air as if it was saying 'Commme on, it's looks interesting!'
Giving his shadow a deadpanned look, he used his hand to slap his dark copy. "Fine." The mirror self cackle in success, before returning to where he rightfully belongs, kage's side. "Only this once.." Taking a step back, he flinged hjmself off the building before immediately, black smoke formed behind his back. The dark cloud swirled then right after it slowly solidified as set of wings.. A large set mind you, giving "perfect" logic to his flying abilities.
"..hm." He hovered over a group of people and saw quiet the movie scene. A girl grabbing droids heads before flinging them to ground- and look a scream of "no i don't want to fight"
"Typical"
now truthfully, however, he had an extreme interest ever since the beginning. It was different and worth-while. Maybe he should jump into the fray.. But first he had to watch the situation. Wouldn't be too smart to just jump in. Besides that wasent him, naive. He was street smart and first rule of thumb. LOOK and think.
Melanie had begun to speak before being quite brutally cut off by the.... brute. Sprouse watched her small frame soar through the air and slam into the ground. Sprouse's eyebrow twitched in dissatisfaction of being interrupted while he was speaking to a beautiful lady, so he then turned to face the brute. Truthfully, he was worried about the girl, but he couldn't look like he was, right? After all, he was supposed be cool and cool people don't worry.
"You know, it's not nice to headbutt woman like that." he began, a charge starting in the palm of his right hand. He had his answer already. She wanted him conscious, so maybe he wouldn't use too much force on this beast, but that did not make it to where he could not give the young brute a few bruises or scratches. He couldn't hurt a woman and just get away with it, what would that show the children?
Ok, there weren't children watching but....
Ok, Sprouse was just feeling like hurting this man a bit, for justice and whatnot.
"Now, time to-"
"GRRRRRRUGHHHH OOO OOO AH AH AH!!!"
Again, that interspecies intercourse sound rang through the air from behind Sprouse, causing him to stop mid-sentence and turn to face the owner of the high-pitched brutish voice. It was Melanie, who was up and at 'em already. If anything, Sprouse should commend her on her resilience. Most people can't take hits like that, and she's at least taken three. "I don't think making erotic animal noises is going to help." he tried pointing out, unaware that she was actually speaking White's native tongue. But how could he? He couldn't read minds.
Aura found herself in the weirdest position ever. She wasn't really sure how she got into the position in the first place. Her upper back was on the ground, and her butt and legs were up in the air, against the tree. It look her a minute to realize what just happened. "HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN?!" She yelled at herself, and squirmed backwards, so that she was lying flat on her back on the ground. Standing back up, grumbling, she shook her head to get dirt out of her hair. "That wasn't very nice!" She yelled, aiming it at the man beast thing, who had just headbutted the blonde chick. The headbutt should have at least given her a concussion, but she was perfectly fine. Now I know that there is something different about her... Now it seemed like blondie was trying to communicate, but Aura couldn't understand what she was saying. She stood there, blinking, wondering what the hell she should do.
(sorry its kind of short!)
White's attention was then draw for a second yet more intricate noises aimed at him, however this time they were much more higher pitched and louder. He quickly turned his head to see a very strange and flamboyant looking two-walker. He was confused by the sight, unable to figure out why the two-walker would be covered in such bright colors. He quickly gave up on the notion as he heard something very loud, but this time very surprising.
"DO NOT WANT FIGHT! NOT CONTINUE! NO HURT! HELP TO YOU I GIVE!"
White snapped his head, drawn by the sound of actual language, even if it was in a very strange dialect and strangely high pitched. When he saw the golden eyes staring back at him from behind the statement he simply did not understand. No anger came from confusion of the situation. He was instead completely dumbfounded, his mind trying to process why the golden eyed creature was now speaking. As he stared, he stood there, only blinking a few times as his mind tried to process the situation.

His shadow seemed to agree. Leaning his head against the trunk, the shadow began to wonder off ahead. Though as much fun he was having, he was concerned on the fact if he should make himself known. Who knew, maybe the man known as "white" would snap and start to rage around the city once more. Or if he was lucky, that girl above can handle it, which seems like a likely idea..
[short post...]
There was never a better moment, as he stuck two Didges to his back, and ran her way. He planted the horn into the ground, then jumped, flipping over it. In the air, he put his mouth to the mouthpiece, and blew. The resulting blare sent him right towards the robot, his feet connecting to it's head. He was on the ground with it though, and as it got up, he rolled onto his stomach. Before he could get up, a blow struck him right in the back. He fell right onto the ground again, knocking the wind out of him. He struggled again, and got a kick to the chest. He rolled onto his back, but instead of anything else, he felt the grip of cold steel grab onto his arm, and drag him away. He was still dazed, and saw lights flash around while his body started to run diagnostics. It didn't feel good, that was for sure.
"It can't end before it begins rust-bucket." His words traveled weakly through his mouth, but the clanker heard him. It turned, and watched as his "trophy" rolled, kicked the hand, and rolled away, getting up slowly. He turned to the girl whom he had saved. Maybe she was a civilian, then at least his work would be good for the public. He was kind of hoping she wasn't though, because he could really use the help.
"Hey lass, mind givin' me a hand here?"
