Roxie loves making people happy. There is nothing that makes her happier than seeing one of her loved ones smile. She loves music, playing many instruments herself. She loves hugs and affection, if she's close to you. She also adores teasing her loved ones. She loves her 'pack', she calls them, of former sled dogs. But one thing she may love the most would have to be her best friend, Ollie.
Dislikes:
There aren't many things that can really get Roxie in a tizzy. She absolutely can not stand it when people think they are better than everyone else, and puts others down. Ignorance is another big one. But if you really want to get her upset, make fun of someone she loves. Especially Ollie. It annoys her when people point out her accent, name, or ask about her family. Or really, anything from her past.
Fears:
Roxie likes to think she's not scared of anything, but really she is. She is terrified of her stepfather, and some nights will still wake up screaming or crying. She fears that Ollie will tire of her. She's terrified of fire, and being burned. Just the smell can put her in a panic. But mainly, she's afraid that she will never be able to keep her loved ones safe.
Skills:
She speaks Inuit, French, and English fluently
She has a way with animals
She is very observant- she picks up on things that most people would never notice
She plays many instruments, and is an excellent singer although she is very humble about it
She is a great shot, which she often points out to her boss
She has a way of calming people, and getting them to trust her
Deficits:
She has PTSD, and the oddest things can trigger a full-on panic attack (the main reason that she hasn't been promoted)
She trusts very easily
She has a thing for danger, and often puts herself in harms way
She has a very hard time saying no
She has a hard time working under pressure
She gets very attached to others, and if she lost one more person she just wouldn't be able to function.
Personality:
In general, Roxie is very playful and loving. She just loves being around people she trusts, and will do anything to keep them happy. She loves laughing, and making people laugh. There's almost never a time when she isn't smiling or laughing. Her smile and her laugh are so contagious. She loves to tease and playfight, like a child. She often teases her loved ones, but knows their limits. She would never hurt someone she loves, and she is very loyal. Once you've earned her trust, you will never lose it. No matter how many times you push her away or snap at you, she will always be right there. Which can be good, but it's also bad when she chooses. . . unsavory people to trust. Which she has a bad habit of doing. She thinks that everyone has something exceptional about them, they just need an observant eye to see it.
She is also very affectionate and compassionate. It seems like she's always thinking of others, putting their needs ahead of herself. She loves to hold, and be held. She would never hesitate to put herself in harms way, to help someone in need. She is an excellent listener, and will hold someone as they cry or vent for hours. You can come to her with any problem, no matter how small. Roxie is very tender, and maternal. She doesn't think twice to give up everything she has to someone who needs it. She also has a hard item saying no- she'll do anything her loved ones ask of her.
Roxie is also very stubborn, though. She can't stand to feel inadequate. She feels like she needs to prove herself, and will throw herself in harms way just to prove a point. She also has a thing for danger- sometimes she'll do anything just for the thrill of it. She's always trying to get Ollie to do crazy stuff with her, but he usually tries to keep her from doing anything too wild. She has a restlessness inside of her, and can't stand the idea of having a dull job, finding a dull husband, and living a dull life that it seems everyone to lead.
She can't stand her loved ones being hurt, and will hunt you down and make your life hell if you dare bully someone she loves. Don't ever, ever hurt someone she loves.
History:
Roxie's mother was an intelligent French traveler, who found her was to northern Canada, where she met her father. If you couldn't tell, her father was a loving Inuit from a village in Nunavut. He bred sled dogs, and had his own pack. Roxie's mother picked up her first name, but her father got the say on her middle and last. At least she has a normal first name. When they has Roxie, they moved to a small down that actually qualified as a town, instead of an Inuit village. There were still many Inuits, but for the most part it resembled a small American town.
Roxie's father was very affectionate and tender. She always tried to be just like him. Her mother was slightly more conservative, and let her husband do most of the parenting. But you would never find a house with more love. They raised her right, and she took an hour long bus ride every day into the city to schooling. Roxie grew up with the pack up sled dogs, and helped raise the puppies every spring. Obviously, she grew up loving animals.
But when she was eight, her father got cancer. Roxie and her mother were forced to helplessly watched the man they loved die. Not even a year after her beloved father died, her mother remarried. That alone, caused Roxie to become very bitter towards her. Did she even love him at all?! He was a cruel man. Roxie being stubborn, they often butt heads. When he got really fed up with her, at first, he would make her sleep outside. Alone. In northern Canada. To keep from getting hypothermia, she had to cuddle up with her father's pack. School was her only escape- she kept up straight A's, and was president of the orchestra. Her first year of high school, she got her first boyfriend. She came home late one day, after spending time with him, she her stepfather flipped. He beat her bloody, and she had to be rushed to the hospital. Things just got worse from there. If she stepped so much a toe out offline, he would beat her or kill one of her father's dogs. Within a year, every one of her father's beloved dogs had been killed. She managed to keep one puppy hidden. Sikku, she named him. Snow. He was a tiny little Samoyed.
Then one day, he got drunk and decided to end it all. She just graduated, and he knew she would be leaving anyways. He tried to burn the house down, with her in it. She screamed and tried desperately to get free, with Sikku. She was severely burned on her back, and got minor burns on her hands from trying to push open the door. She manged to break through the window, and laid in the snow, sobbing, in more pain than she had ever been in. Sometimes, she'll wake up screaming, thinking she's being burned again.
Roxie managed to keep up perfect grades, and get into an amazing collage. She loves her job, but yearns for more, she wants to be in the line of duty. She met Ollie, who is now her best friend. He knows everything there is to know about her, and vise versa. She harbors feelings for him, but has never said anything to him about it. She's afraid of losing him as her best friend.

If I could say anything, anything what would it be?
A good question for our destined reality
I would tell you that I love you
Even when it didn't show.
I would tell you that I love you, baby,
By now I hope you know.
If you could go anywhere, anywhere what would you see?
Take a step in any direction, it's make believe
If your mind is always moving
It's hard to get your heart up off the ground
Yeah, your mind was always moving
But your thoughts never made a sound
And we won't break if we let go.
You and I already know
We were bound to be set free eventually.
So, here we are now
You can say anything
If I could have it go any way, any way it'd go like this
Take it back to a couple years yesterday to our first kiss
In that moment I loved you,
This isn't how I ever saw it going down.
In that moment I loved you,
I wish I knew then what I know now.
We won't break if we let go.
You and I already know
We were bound to be set free eventually.
So, here we are now
You can say anything
You can say anything
You should you listen to your heart
(you should listen to you your heart)
It's gonna tell you what you need
(it's gonna tell you what you need)
Take care of yourself
(take care of yourself)
And don't you worry about me
(don't you worry about me)
You should you listen to your heart
(you should listen to you your heart)
It's gonna tell you what you need
(it's gonna tell you what you need)
Take care of yourself
(take care of yourself)
And don't you worry about me
(don't you worry about me)
We won't break if we let go.
You and I already know
We were bound to be set free eventually.
Well, here we are now
You can say anything [x4]
Always say anything
