Introduction
The world has become a desolate place. Plagues, famines, every sort of disease imaginable, and unimaginable, are raging on the surface, in the air, and under the sea. Man’s greatest escape, man’s greatest accomplishment, is the V Game. V Game, the virtual world that mirrors the original, however, whatever your mind can imagine, is placed onto the world. All lives are different; unique to those who play it.
In the V Game, there are very few rules. Be what you will, do what you will, but always follow the Developer. The Developer is more like the game’s resident God and Master. He, as rumor holds it, is the great Creator of the V Game, and many have begun to worship him as such, much to his disgust. Unfortunately, there are some who do not believe the Developer to be a ‘god’, but a man like everyone else. Those who think this, are often shunned by the fanatics of the game, and have often been seriously injured, or, in some cases, killed. It is because the people, who believe the Developer to be a man, believe that it was created by him, but with greater help.
Outside the game, however, deep within a tall structure in the heart of a nation’s once great capital, many Game Masters are working hard to keep the game running smoothly. Unfortunately, with everyone hooked up to the system, it has begun to strain the system, causing many blackouts which have resulted in the rude awakening of many players who play it. This has caused them great pain, placed them into a comatose state, or, in some rare cases, killed the player.
For the moment, a program is being developed to bring players out of the game safely during the random disconnections. Unfortunately, due to the large scale of players which span over the entire globe, complications are bound to arise.
_______
A knock at the door reveals a medium sized brown box. As you take it into your home, wonder and curiosity fills your mind, and you begin to ask aloud as to who had sent this package. With hesitant fingers, you strip the tape from the center, and gently open the flaps. Packing peanuts greet you, but your hands dive into the package, eagerly questing for the unknown. Your eyes grow wide, and a smile plays upon your lips; at last, you find your prize. A small, black box appears in your hand, and attached to it, a folded note with a smiley-faced sticker in its center.
As you carefully remove the sticker, you notice that a strange symbol is splayed in the top left corner. To the right of the symbol, the letters RNC can be seen. This reminds you of the international corporation which had released a new game system, which allows everyone to be anything they wish to be. Eagerly, but with more confidence, you open the black box, practically tearing into it. Inside is a pair of headphones with a thick band which arced between them. On one side, a short, thick antenna could be seen protruding from it. While on the other, a long chord, which has been tied into loops, is waiting to be hooked up with the nearest computer software.
Just as you are about to start up the game, you remember the note attached, and gently pick it up. Your eyes briefly scan over the letter, only pausing to read the congratulatory introduction into the V Game and the small warranty which lasts for about a year. The rest of the letter, you throw down, not wanting to read up on the history of how the V game began, and quickly attach it into your computer. A small light can be seen from within the band, and you hasten to put it over your eyes.
A blue sky opens to your eyes, and you can hear the ocean off into the distance. It is then that you realize that there are no controllers with which to move about, nor a microphone to speak into. As panic begins to set in, you hear a small voice, male; appear in your right ear. “Peace,” he says, “Peace. Be still. The product of which you have just received, is a perfected piece of equipment which allows you conscious mind to move, speak, and interact with other people.” A black robed figure appears in front of you, with only his mouth and hands visible to your eyes.
“You may experience a slight numbing behind your eyes, but you must not panic. This is only the device which is currently accessing your mind, and synchronizing with it.” Just as he speaks this, a small numbing pain appears behind your eyes for a few moments, but something strange begins to occur with your body. You cannot move. The robed figure nods slowly, resuming his speech, “Your body should be numb by now, but do not fret. This is only natural, as your mind is currently being transferred into the world known only as V Game.” The robed man vanishes, as does the ocean-side view.
Lights begin to pass you by, just as the opening theme of the V Game drifts into your ears. The lights begin to pick up even more speed, until they become a blur. Towards the end, you are enveloped in a blinding light, and you find yourself high above a strange land. Far below, you can see many players of all shapes, sizes, colors, etc, all battling monsters, each other, or performing various tasks. You pass the large stone-walled city made up of white marble called Tsar No'uul, the City of Pure Song. A large spire can be seen in the center of the city, and atop the spire is an empty thrown that overlooks the city below. This begins to excite you, and you are transported to a strange, open arena, where you will begin your tutorial of the V Game.

"In a moment," was his only reply. Before him was the Desolate Wasteland, which was connected to his Citadel of Ice and Snow, of which his next project was taking place. The area had become off limits to the players for almost a full day, and many were waiting patiently as to what his plans were for it. A keyboard appeared in front of him, which allowed his left hand to become a blur as zeros and ones began to form around him. They swirled quickly, becoming a mini sand devil, which then became a tornado of sand. Hitting a final key, the tornado stopped, and became instant glass. "Much better," he commented, "The event will begin on schedule."
The hand began to blur once more, and other glass tornadoes appeared within the area, each taller than the last until it seemed to reach the clear blue sky above. "The Stairway to Heaven," came Desolate Warrior's static laughter. "Computer, begin log off sequence for Developer Joshua Michaels, aka Desolate Warrior." He waited for a few moments, and watched as the wasteland vanished from sight completely.

"Welcome back, sir." A familiar voice within a familiar structure, "You must allow your body to become used to your commands again, sir, but you never listen to me," a dry tone followed the voice, and a light step echoed away from him. I never listen? His fatigued mind thought, When have I never listened? It hit him almost immediately, "Every day," he chuckled softly. Using his elbows, he pushed himself up from the thick leather chair beneath him, and into a sitting position. He stretched his right hand in front of himself, and noticed that the keyboard hadn't appeared in front of him like it had in the game. "Guess we know who's starting to become addicted to the game, don't we?"
Swinging his legs over the side, Joshua tried testing his feet on the granite floor, but found them to still be unstable, as though they were made up of jelly, instead of flesh, bone, and sinew. Sighing softly, he swung his legs back onto the leather chair, calling out to the computer, "Computer, locate Naomi Ridgewell." Blips and beeps followed his order, and a woman's voice came over the system, "Naomi Ridgewell has not entered the compound since 2205 last night. She is still within her residence."
He sighed once more, and felt fatigue overcome him in waves. "Computer, call Naomi," haze began to cloud his mind and eyes, "Tell her... tell her that the project is completed. She needs to look it over." Exhaustion drove him to slumber, which he did so within the leathery arms of his favorite chair.

Colonel-Commisar Ibram Gaunt awakens in his bunk, while the other 3 Guardsmen lie asleep in their cots. He smiles, and heads for the showers. After a quick hot shower, he shaves and gets ready for the day. "Already up, Sir?" a familiar voice says from behind him. Gaunt smiles, and turns around to face Oan Mkoll, the Chief Scout of Gaunt's regiment of Imperial Guardsmen, the Tanith First and Only. "It's 3am sir, you never get up this early when we're off duty." Mkoll says, his all-seeing eyes looking at his superior officer. "It's nothing Mkoll, I have a officers' meeting I need to attend." Gaunt smiles before putting on his Dress Uniform, complete with all the medals and other shiny trinkets he's earned over his carrier in the Guard, almost spanning 4 decades. "Well, good luck sir." Oan says before Gaunt heads out the door.
"Ah, Colonel-Commisar Ibram Gaunt, the Warmaster's been expecting you." A Karsakin Stormtrooper says as Gaunt approaches the board room. the man opens the door, and Gaunt heads inside. "Good to see you again Macaroth." Gaunt greets his Superior Officer, a man who's power and influence is fourth only to the infamous Baron of I'iin No'laan, the Administrators, and the Desolate Warrior. "It's nice to see you as well Comissar." the Warmaster says smiling as they shake hands. "Now, let's get to the nitty-gritty." the Warmaster says as he takes his seat, and brings up a hologram. "I want you and and your best men to head for the city of I'iin No'laan, there you will find a group of men working out a plan to remove the current ruler, the Baron, from power. You are to help them complete their goal at any cost, we need the Baron out of the way so we can gain a foothold to the rest of the World and get supplies." he looks up from the hologram "You will go to this address, and knock softly 3 times. The password is 'Tanith Magna', and they'll let you in." He hands Gaunt a data chip, which Ibram installs into his GPS unit. "A Valkeryie will give you a lift until your about a mile outside the walls, but you're on your own after that. Don't attract too much attention to yourselves, the Baron has ordered that all Imperial units be killed-on-sight." Gaunt nods silently. "By the way, your flight leaves in two hours, so best get going." The Warmaster says before walking over and putting a hand on Gaunt's shoulder. "Your the only man I trust to take this mission Ibram, our only option if you fail is to level the city completely using 3 regiments of Death Corps." Ibram silently nods, before saluting the Warmaster back and heading out the door.
"Come on men, on your feet!" Gaunt yells as he opens the door, scaring everyone but Mkoll out of their bunk. "We have new orders, and our flight leaves in 2 hours, let's get moving people!" Gaunt says as Mkoll, 'Try Again' Bragg and Ezrah Night all get to their feet and begin rushing around, grabbing supplies.

"Paging Naomi Ridgewell. Paging Naomi Ridgewell."
"Urgh. Five more minutes please...." Halo found herself rolling over and trying to bring the room into focus. Blinking a few times as the blur came into focus a puzzled look appeared on her face. This wasn't her apartment. Across a large sprawling room balloons were strewn across the floor, confetti and glitter dusted the carpeting and sofas and people who seemed to have partied a little too hard were passed out on the furniture. It seemed like she was among them. "Geez, looks looks like I overdid it a bit..." She muttered getting up off the couch she had been on and stretching, "Even forgot to log out."
Wandering over to the large glass windows of the building Naomi found herself looking out at the scenery of O'ruul as it floated above the rest of the city below. "Paging Naomi Ridgewell." Glancing back at the trashed studio apartment she frowned and shook some glitter out of her blonde hair before waving a hand, "System begin cleanup and initiate logout for Halo."
Snapping back to reality Naomi blinked rapidly trying to adjust to the sudden light which was filtering in through her bedroom window. What was last nights party about? Wait, it had to do with some upcoming event. That was it! It was the games 10th anniversary today! Crap, she had to Dj for that. "Miss Ridgewell your assistance is needed." Sitting up in her bed she raised an eyebrow,"What's up computer?" "Preparations for todays event have been completed and you are needed to look over and be stationed in the area." "Alright, just give me a few minutes."
After quickly taking a shower and tossing on some clothes Naomi made her way, protein shake in hand, to the corps Board Room which Game Masters were required to be in during events. Downing the shake quickly Naomi grabbed a V-Headset that was set in her place before sitting down and placing the headset on herself. "Computer initiate V-game for Naomi Ridgewell aka Halo, setting Desolate Wasteland."

Hit by a gust of wind Halo found herself admiring the work around her, Crystaline tornados surrounded what almost seemed like a carnival that spread across the wasteland ready for players to flood the place. Grabbing her hoverboard and floating to the top of a tornado which was placed in the center of the ordeal, Halo surveyed the land before pulling out a flat rectangle out of her pocket which slowly expanded into a DJ Table before her with a grin, "This looks great. Computer, can you get Mr. Michaels and tell him that the place looks awesome and is ready to go?" Hooking up a sound cube to the board she began to play around with the table mixing and weaving in sounds which pumped far out into the wasteland as she waited for the area to be opened. She wondered when the rest of the GM's and the developer would make their appearance.

Theron had never experiences anything quite like being sucked into a video game. She gasped at the numbing sensation, but didn't have much time to mull it over, as she was soon pulled along her way. The world spun around her and she closed her eyes dizzily. When she opened them again, she was lying in a forest, and she blinked groggily, looking about. She reached up to rub her eyes, but drew her, erm, hands back in shock.
The sight of black paws attached to her furry arms both frightened and thrilled her. She stood, testing out her balance, and found that four legs were a lot easier to stand on than she had expected. Turning around, she caught sight of her bushy black tail and grinned. As she trotted around she realized how hungry she was. She wasn't sure if she had the guts, or skills, to catch a live meal, but a rabbit darted by a few meters ahead of her, and her instincts took over and she bolted after the creature.
It was soon dyed red and between her bloodstained jaws, and she now had a very different view on killing. She crunched at the creature, finishing off the last juicy bones, licking her chops. Her eara twitched as she stared around the forest, listening for more prey. What he hear instead was shouting in the distance, and she cocked her head, trotting toward the sound. It would take a while to get there, but she was in no hurry.

Her stomach grumbled, providing an easy distraction from the thought that seemed to linger in the back of her mind, reminding her that she needed some quick cash, it had been too long since she had eaten last, perhaps more out of forgetfulness and lack of her thieving. Her stride was purpose filled as she walked up to the lady, although no one would notice her intention, not with their wandering thoughts on the game they were so obsessed with. It took no more than a few seconds as Max walked by, her skilled fingers reaching into the woman's purse with a glance around to assure her that no one was really paying attention and she was off, walking away like nothing had happened. She stuffed her hand full of the cash in her pockets, feeling the reassuring paper that was a promise for food.
She wandered away, not wanting to be near the scene when the chick discovered her money was gone, though she would probably just put it off as forgetting it at home in her dazed mind. Looking around her hands found themself in her hair, tying it up. She knew she needed to cut it, more out of habit to make herself seem more masculine, but couldn't really care. Although she still found herself in clothes that were too baggy for her slight body, she didn't think she would ever really get over that habit. Her eyes found themselves at a restaurant chain, one that was made for convenience, not health. She grinned, always one to love junk food, her body did need a few extra pounds, not that she would actually find them.
She quickly bought her food and left for her house, her pace quickening. It had been too long she had been outside alone and her paranoia was starting to act up. She ducked into her house more quickly than she should have, a rundown, tiny thing in the outskirts of town, right smack in the edges of rundown buildings that weren't inhabited any longer for safety reason and a rather poor section. She locked all of the locks on her door and started to scout around, to make sure everything was locked and nothing was disturbed, just in case someone had been in her house. It was smart, not paranoia, well, that was what she told herself anyways.
She sat down on the floor in a cross legged fashion in front of her small table, her home only really providing the bare minimums. She pulled out her food, humming as she ate it and reached into her pockets, a grin reaching her face. She would be set for a while with the cash she had just gotten, something that was reassuring. She stuffed it back in her pocket before her gaze turned to the V game, it had been a couple of days since she had just logged on and she was bored. She reached and put the gear on her head and soon found herself opening her eyes in the virtual world, her body back in the real one starting to numb itself.
Dover grinned at the people surrounding her, people coming in to the main inport of the video game, smiles on their faces as they found their preferred world. She smiled out of habit more than anything and went off to a place she had wanted to see for a while now, Wraith Bog. Maybe she would find some interesting things, or in the very least, get a good scare out of it.

He quickly logged off his account after removing the data pad from his computer. He ran by the Developer's office, a few rooms down from his own office, and dropped the thumb sized freen data pad into a file folder and slid it down the mail slot in his door. I hope he actually takes a good, long look at this. I worked so hard on this. He thought to himself.
Farris then decended a few floors into the Board room where some of the Game Masters have already arrived. "Wow, so few people right now, the others probably get fired if they don't show soon! Eh guys?" He said. Of course, no one even heard him because they were in the V-Game. "Oh... so none of you heard? Well, no matter, I'll see you in the game.... And there I go talking to myself again." He finished his little talk with a mumble to himself. He sat himself down at a seat next to Naomi and picked up a V-Headset and said, "Login Anter Brine, password A7E67DF9. Send me to Desolate Wasteland. His mind began to swim as he changed from a business man into an assassin. He hated the switch, but the outcome always made him feel so good about himself.
Being an assassin in a game made him feel so much better than being a stuffy business man. And the fact he was more powerful was a nice addition. He played with a fireball the size of a melon, twirling it in his hand. He withdrew his hood with his other hand since everyone in the company knew him. Outside the company, he always would wear his hood to slightly hide his identity, but he was forced to show what he look like to show total trust in the company. As he tossed the fireball up and down, he stared off into the distance at a crystal tornado with a girl on top of it. "Hey Naomi! Or should I say Halo? Why are you up so early? I heard that you threw an all night party last night and I'm surprised your not fast asleep in some confetti covered area!"

"Hey Naomi! Or should I say Halo? Why are you up so early? I heard that you threw an all night party last night and I'm surprised your not fast asleep in some confetti covered area!"
Looking down to where the sound was coming from the sound was coming from Halo stopped the music for a moment and waved. "Hey Farris!" She called down to him below with a grin. Grabbing her hoverboard she kicked off from the tornado and made her way down to him, "I wish," She said yawning and stretching with one hand as she held her board with the other. "The boss man called me in early to do a look over of the place before we kicked off the event. I think he must secretly like waking me early in the morning." Crossing her arms and frowning for a moment in thought Naomi briefly considered it, it did seem like the Developer would do. He was well aware of her late night habits and she did seem to always get called in for the early morning shift. Shrugging she let her hands fall to sides before surveying Anter up and down. "So what are you doing up so early too?" Looking around only a few other Game Masters were milling the area and a quick request to computer would reveal not many were online. She guessed it was true that sleep was for the sane. "Working on some more landscaping?" She said with a small laugh, she knew programming was his speciality, after all it seemed like every Game Master had some sort of ability that they excelled in.

He moved slowly, away from the chair, and towards a large computer screen which was situated towards the southern end of the room. Sitting down into a chair in front of it, he felt his bones pop from the strain. "I'm getting too old for this," he sighed aloud, "well," his hands clapped together, "no rest for the wicked. I have show to run." His hands his the keyboard below the large screen, which instantly lit up. His keystrokes led him towards the Desolate Wasteland, where a smoldering ruin of a convoy could be seen on the outskirts. "Lets clean that up, then," and began transporting the ruin away to his own citadel, "We'll have the others look at it later. For now," his attention turned towards Naomi, and apparently Farris, who had finally opted to join them.
Putting on a headset he said, "My, my, what have you two been up to?" He watched as his voice boomed slightly into the area, "Halo, have you finished your part of the event?" He turned slightly to Anter, "We'll be needing some festivities within the area, Anter. Think you can handle that? Booths, an arena in the center, and possibly a giant disco ball for Halo to use. If your not up to it, let me know, and I'll do it myself." Of course, he knew Farris was up to the task, and would most likely help, but there were some days when he was just in one of his "moods" and refused to work without some sort of extra compensation.
"I'll start working on the finer details here." Keeping the headset on, Joshua's fingers began to blur slightly as he accessed the files necessary for the event. "This will be our tenth anniversary since the start of the game, everyone. Know what that means? Trouble. We'll be employing our own guards within the game, but make sure you give them a different skin, so as not to scare everyone too much." Ropes began to appear around Halo, attaching themselves to the other glass tornadoes, and anchoring themselves in. Wooden planks was then added between the ropes, along with extra ropes to create a rope bridge. "We'll make a contest out of it," his soft laughter entered into the mic, "First to reach Halo gains a bag of 100 IG gold."
Desolate Wasteland soon became a twilight setting, which brought the temperature down as well. "Don't need the players to over heat now." Even though it was just a game, and all in the mind, there were many who thought it was real, and had suffered much because of it. "Weapons will not be allowed within the event area, but we'll be able to keep ours. If someone has their weapons, detain them, or call one of our enforcers." With several more keystrokes, he began to add lights within the tornadoes, which kept in time with Halo's music. It was no mean feat by any standards, but after working with her for so long, you tend to figure things out in a matter of moments. Having a computer who knew her programs didn't hurt to help either.
"Sir," came that familiar voice again, "Your coffee is getting cold." Swearing softly, and cursing mentally as he realized his mic was still on, he spoke swiftly, "Gotta go you two. Breakfast and coffee await me." Taking off the headset, he quickly turned around and took the coffee from his assistant's hands. He gulped it down quickly, and instantly met his mistake. It wasn't coffee, but a spiced cider which she made every now and again. A light chuckle escaped her lips, as she watched him run from the room in search of something cold to drink. "Idiot."

Soon, the Developer logged on and his booming voice echoed through the vast wasteland. This made Farris jump, in both lives. It always startled him whenever someone comes from nowhere, and in this game, it is always possible. The Director began to set up large platforms between tornados and set up a challenge for all. Sorence wanted to partcipate in it, seeing how it involved money. Real or fake, Farris would always use and appreciate it.
""We'll be needing some festivities within the area, Anter. Think you can handle that? Booths, an arena in the center, and possibly a giant disco ball for Halo to use. If your not up to it, let me know, and I'll do it myself."
Farris looked over to the Developer, nodding that he could. He cracked his knuckles in the V-Game and got to work. Like few others, Anter had the ability to design in the game, not just out of it. He swung his hands around, seeing what he had to work with. He first started with the disco ball, seeing how it will be the easiest. He spawned one out of thin air, swirling it around to check for any damages. Don't make Naomi mad. He thought to himself. He then tossed it up into the air around 30 feet above Halo's tornado. It froze in place without any structure holding it up. He wanted people to appreciate the look of the layout of the desert, not a hunk of rebar holding up a 50 foot wide disco ball. It would just ruin the effect. He then created an arena in the center of the stage with four high watch towers on each corner. Each only was about 50 feet in both length and width, covering about 20 feet of the stage and having the rest on the ground with doors on their sides with hover elevators going up. With the towers over 20 stories high, people can look out into the Wasteland and see what their up against. The arena itself was 500 feet in both length and width and about seven feet tall, having several small steps leading onto it's massive stage with the company's insignia in the middle of it. Finally, he set up the booths. He put 40 booths everywhere, each one different, except the 8 food booths put around the stage and at the farthest corners of the event. He set up an auction booth, an info booth, he set up a Game Masters area where they could converse in private, a shop for armor, weapons, powers, animals/mounts, medcine (any more if you want to go to one), a quest area where people shall be informed about quests when the Developer decides its time, a LARGE pub right nex to Halo's glass tornado (with ample seating i will say), and so many more things that he was able to spur out.
"Done! Now Developer, I have something to ask of..." he said as he turned around and saw the developer disappear. He swore to himself and said "I guess that won't be happening any times soon then..."

"Speak of the devil," Halo said a look of surprise appearing on her face as Joshua appeared. "Got the music programmed in and the Dj booth set up boss," she with a grin, she was quite proud of her work on the sound system and couldn't wait to see it in action. Watching as the rope bridges appeared connecting to her booth Halo raised an eyebrow, "So I get to play DJ in distress, don't I?" She said with a laugh. It was a good opener but she'd have to be careful not to get trampled when it happened. "A disco ball, very old school," she said examining it with a grin as it floated upwards and lights inside glass tornadoes began to flicker, "It'll be cool though with the lighting though."
Laughing as she heard Joshua swear she waved, "Ciao boss, wish us luck on the event." Looking over at Anter Halo patted him on the back, "You wanted him to look at the project didn't you? Don't worry, he'll look at it soon enough," She said grabbing her hoverboard and floating back to the top of the Tornado and settling into her booth, "As for the event don't you think it's just about time it got started?"

An electronic voice emmerged from the booths (like the ones in the Desolate Wasteland) and said, To all availabe players, a new area has just been released called the Desolate Wasteland. It's name is its own description. If you want to journey to the grand opening, then you may step into the booth and be teleported to the entrance of the opening festival. The message was looped so any player unaware of this event should hear it sooner or later. They last only for around 3 hours though, seeing how there are so many of them scattered around the endless world.
"That should get their attention." Anter mumbled to himself. He soon saw many of the Game Masters appear from nowhere and took their designated spots. "Took you guys long enough, the Developer and Halo did had to do all the work! I'm really disappointed in you guys." Anter said, shaking his head.
So what did you do then, just sit around like normal? Honestly, I don't understand why the Developer hired you. One Master said back to him. He was like a Elf in the game, but looked more like one in real life. In life, he wasn't the stereotypical tall one's, but looked like an actual 'Santa Elf mixed with an ugly dwarf.' The game just made him taller and gave him good looks. It also armed him with duel blades and several smoke bombs across his white shorts and shirt. His name was Earl in life, but in the game, it was Maxis.
"Yeah, I guess so. Can you leave me alone now? I have to let in the growing number of people now." Anter said looking over at the gate where hundereds of thousands were attempting to pile in, but couldn't due to an unbreakable forcefield. As Anter was walking, he was hit by a stone thrown by Maxis.
I always hated you, so why don't we fight like normal? Maxis said with a devilish grin across his face. You won't beat me like the other times! I will cut you to pieces! He bellowed at him.
"You're lucky that the forcefield is also sound proof or the gamers would hear just how crazy you are." Anter said cooly to Maxis. "Yeah, we can fight, but after the festival. I don't want the Developer to get mad. And just to be safe..." Anter looked down at his shadow, giving it half a soul. It could now watch his back for him just in case Maxis wanted to kill him in the party. He quickly shooed away the angry Maxis and walked over to the entrance. With one swing of his hand, the forcefield broke, letting the players pile in. Before they passed Anter though, he also set up another barrier where their weapons disinigrate as soon as they enter and reappear when they leave. "I want no violence in this festival, understood? Other than that, I want you all to have fun and enjoy the new area!" He joyfully exclaimed to the crowd.
They all piled in going between stands, the towers, and the DJ booth. It was an extremely good turnout so far. Anter walked casually to Halo and said to her, "Enjoyin the party? I hope you are, cause I am." As he said this, his side buzzed and an email appeared. "Can you read it to me please? I'm too tired to read anything else after what I've been doing for two days."

Firing up her sound cube again she played the music at a thundering pace adding bass deep into the music trying to get the crowd fired up as she looked down below at the other GM's arriving, "Great, now everyone arrives," She thought to herself. Shrugging she let the thought roll off of her, what happened happened, why let it ruin the party? It looked like someone was getting riled up down there though. Not being able to hear over the blaring music Halo was able to make out the arguing figures of Anter and Maxis down below. Sighing she shook her head, she knew that there was in fighting between the other Game Masters occasionally but she had never seen it happen this close to the public before, everyone really just needed to tone it down, she thought to herself, otherwise they'd have to do damage repair and that was never fun.
Taking her attention back to the crowd as the barriers were smashed and people started pouring in Halo threw herself into her music a grin spreading across her face as she felt the party atmosphere begin to surround the Wasteland as more and more people piled in. Finding Anter standing next to her she laughed, "This is awesome!" She yelled over the music, "Huh?" Turning the noise down slightly she looked at the floating letter symbol above his head, "Sure," jumping to be able to reach she grabbed the hologram which instantly turned into a message in her hands.
"Dear Game Master Anter Brine," She read aloud "Warmaster Macaroth of the Imperial Forces would like to speak with you about a trade route between the Vandean Coast and I'iin No'laan. A representative of the Imperium is down here at the border, and this will only take a moment of your time. Sincerely, Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt, Tanith First and Only Regiment" Blinking a few times Halo looked at Anter, "Any idea what's up with this?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"Greetings, I am Anter Brine, leader of The City Of Men. WHy is it you have contacted me on the tenth anniversary? You should be celebrating and having a good time with the other players." Anter said in a very formal voice. His speech changes when he meets someone new also. It is like he changes bodies completely. "It says you want to develop a trade route between MY city and you coast line, is that so? I want to know why you are asking me for this and why I should help you? I need reasons in order to help random players out there. I do hope you understand."

He tossed a chip to the negotiator. "This will let me teleport to you whenever you need me. Be it for battle or negotiations. We will discuss what is needed for supplies after the tenth anniversery party. I must return, seeing how I am a Game Master and all. Do join me if you so desire. It is an exciting event you know." Anter's voice turned informal for a split second when talking about the party (somewhat of a happy sound). He coughed and his voice returned to its formal state. "If you don't, I request that you travel to the City of Men. That chip is also a key card in some cases, letting you pass through security of the head building and into rooms such as the docking bay for aircrafts or the negotiation room. Please head to that room and I should teleport to you when the party is done if you don't want to accept my invitation."

Going back to her DJ booth Halo turned the music back up and started concentrating on taking requests from the crowds below. It was hard to try to meet everyone halfway on musical opinion but it was her job as Game Master and Dj to do that right? Anyways, parties were meant to make a person forget their own personal problems and life, it was a lot like the V-game really. She laughed, maybe that was why she loved this place so much. Grinning she decided it was time for some more festivities.
"So everyone! Ready for a game?" She said reaching down and speaking into the microphone which was built into the turn table. As the crowd called out with sounds of anticipation she reached into her jacket pocket she pulled out a large bag of gold and held it up for everyone to see, "First one to reach me get's 100 IG gold! On your marks....Get set..." Joshua had better pay me back for this later... She thought to herself seeing as how the Developer had forgotten to give her the money for the event, "Go!"

Anter jumped up the designated pathway up to Halo's booth-reaching it in a mere 10 seconds from the ground. "Ibram, is it? You did very well and I'm impressed you beat Maxis over here. He's probably one of the more 'try hards' (insert air quotes) in this game of anyone, which is depressing seeing how he's a Game Master. He won't take defeat lightly though. You might want to watch you back during the festival. He could try to take you down at any moment. Since you dont have a weapon and he does, I just want you to be careful around him." Anter said with a serious look on his face. (anyone feel free to take control of Maxis in their own posts. He is just a throw around character if anyone needs to talk for him)

Although this was the games 10th anniversary the event right now was nothing but a large social gathering to Halo, if anything all the partying would be happening later tonight back in O'ruul when everyone really started to get into it. Preferably with lots of glitter and glow sticks. A sheepish look appeared on her face, "Hehe, I was sort of hoping the Developer would've shown up by now," she said rubbing the back of her head as she realized the jam she was in. Thinking for a few seconds she sighed and relented, "Fine, favor, away."
Raising her eyebrow she looked at the player who had won the contest, "Your the Ibram from that letter, aren't you?" She said tilting her head then looking at the two of them, "how'd negotiations on the trade route thingamajig go? I'm Halo by the way."

"Sir, your needed in game," Joshua Michaels' assistant prodded him with his own cane, "Your 'Grand Entrance' has begun, and you have less than two minutes until it is too late." His eyes popped open, then, and he looked up at the ceiling, wondering where he was. "Sir, you slammed into a wall on your way out, remember? You drank my cider, and fled from the room."
Ah yes, his mind said slowly, THAT I remember, and heard a slight chuckle escape his lips. "Alright, alright," he said getting to his feet, "I'm up, I'm up." Stretching his arms and back, he sprinted down the hallway towards his room. "Computer," he shouted, "Immediate log in of Desolate Warrior. Password: Sons of Odin." ~Access Granted~ Came the reply, as he settled into his chair and placed the visor over his eyes.
-----
High above the event, Desolate Warrior stared down at the milling crowd around the only source of light. He could hear the song floating up towards him, and immediately, his keyboard appeared in front of him. Striking the keys quickly, he began to form a flaming motorcycle in front of him. Mounting it, he awaited him cue to ride down, which came almost immediately after he sat down. Raising his axe high above him, he charged straight down, striking the ground hard, and creating a large plume of sand and dust. The motorcycle roared as he charged the arena, just as the soldiers, each, tilted their heads back, and fired off a large beam of energy from there heads. The lasers struck the disco ball, which was then reflected into the crystalline tornadoes, causing them to erupt into a rainbow of brilliant colors.
The motorcycle roared up one of the tornadoes, creating a line of fire that spiraled around it. As he reached the top, the motorcycle leaped high, landing hard within the center of the arena. As the song came to a close, he dismounted the motorcycled, and raised his left arm high, listening to the roar of the crowd around him. Just as the bionic soldiers gathered around him, he noticed that something was wrong, the world was darkening around his character. "What the..." He never got another word in, as the word DISCONNECTED appeared over his eyes, and was thrusted out of the game.
-----
Gasping for air, as the visor was taken off, and a light was shoved into his eyes, "Sir," came a familiar voice, "Sir, can you hear me?" His vision swirled, and felt something climb his throat. Turning onto his side, he opened his mouth and saw his last meal fall onto the floor beneath him. "That was disgusting, sir." Turning onto his back, Joshua gasped for air, confusion was apparent on his face. "Wha- what happened?"
"Sir," the voice repeated, "You were disconnected from the V-Game, and forced back into reality." This caused him to shake, and he raised a hand to cover his eyes, "Sir, thats not all." He removed his hand from his eyes, and peered up at his assistant, "About half of the players within the Desolate Wasteland were also disconnected from the game." Her voice began to climb, "Reports are coming in now, and many of our players are in serious trouble. Sir, what are we to do?"
"The only thing we can do," came a breathy whisper, "Send out the call to every emergency building on the planet, and find the cause of the problem before it happens again." As he finished, exhaustion took over once more, knocking him out cold.

"we got a major problem!" Maxis says, running up to them after being booted by the system. "The system's in turmoil, we got people knocked unconscious and in bad shape from being kicked all across the globe, and Desolate's unconscious from him being booted." Ibram looks at the Game Master in confusion and concern "alright, are there warnings out, and any word from the major areas?"

He took Halo's mic and bellowed out to the crowd, "Everyone listen! You need to escape this area right now-log off if you can- just don't come near any area that is you haven't recived word is safe. As far as I know, no place i-." He was interupted by a message from his city.
"Sir, we noticed that the Desolate Wasteland, Marching Forest, and Serenity Mountains have lost all stability within the servers. As far as we know, both City of Pure Song and ourselfs have been slightly damaged, but not enough to put us out of business like other areas. Please sir, evacuate now with everyone. " A voice said over the message.
"Alright people, I've got good news and bad news. Bad news is Marching Forest, Serenity Mountains, and this place have lost stability. If we stay here any longer, our real bodies my be affected. Please, head to either the City of Pure Song or the City of Men. Those are the only known stable places." Anter said into the mic.
He turned towards Maxis and said, "I think you can take control of things here, getting the stragglers out of here. I trust you enough." Things soon began to turn blurry for Anter. He couldn't focus on one area at all. He turned towards the general direction of Halo and Ibram and said, "If we stay here any longer, I have no idea what will happen." He grabbed their wrists and said, "We are going to teleport to my city seeing how it is one of the safer areas and your leader is there-as far as I know." He motioned to Ibram. Not waiting for an answer, they left. In a split second they arrived at the central building.
The city fuzzed in and out of focus every few minutes, but it allowed the players to actually be inside the city. The sky was a dark orange color, city filled with skyscrapers, but none topped the central building. It had a beautiful garden that they were teleported to, filled with many oaks. Anter dropped to the ground, fainting from over working himself that day along with 2 days without sleep. He remained in the game though, not being able to exit since his real body was knocked out as well.
