Name: Amnetas(Am-A-Tos) kes Jaagon
Nickname: Amnetas the Bored Sage
Gender: Male
Age: 362
Race: Dragonborn
Height: 6'8"
Title: Kaitos Des(Sharpened Traveller in Draconic tongue)
Class: Deadiilus(Mage in Draconic tongue - literally means "Arcane Whisperer")
Birth place: Realm of Essim
Personality: Diligence. Excellence. Honor. Pride. Amnetas holds these concepts as absolute. The drive that's held firm in all Dragonborn burns brightly within his beating heart - made manifest by his very actions. Failure is an almost alien concept to him. If one should fall yet still has the strength to stand back up to to face the challenge but does not take it....why, the very idea is almost sacrilege. Amnetas is not however naive enough to take on the impossible. Indeed, to charge blindly without thought or restraint is a fool's errand that has seen the death of countless souls -- Dragonborn or no.
The pride and honor of a Dragonborn is a legendary thing and not to be defiled by those not willing to reap what they sew. And much the same Amnetas views honor and pride as the words of life. Willing to go to any realistic lengths to accomplish his goal. Age, however, has tempered his zeal. Wise and fierce; frightfully intelligent- Amnetas has long ago learned that all ventures require caution and that often it is those who can outlast that hold ultimate victory.
As well, one can not hold their convictions so close to their chest that they become blinded by the realities of the world. Adaptability, cunning, slight of hand and more often than not deceit is just as key to victory as strength of arms or focus of mind.
As such, Amnetas respects all these things.
Like most, Amnetas views himself with mild superiority when compared to other races. Blessed as all Draconic breeds are. He is not cruel to other races however, no that wouldn't be proper, nor is he hateful of them. Neither will he voice his views. He sees other races as an often amusing curiosity to be watched and interacted with. Indeed, much of his good humor can easily be coaxed out of him by these other races. Beyond this polite indifference is his usual mood in regard to other species.
Amnetas' boredom is almost legendary as is his...unique...since of humor. One of his colleagues once said that Amnetas would conjure up a mad god and release it on the world if he could just because it would be entertaining. Indeed, Amnetas enjoys humor and merriment. As of late he is busying himself by interacting with other species, for which he finds no end of curiosity and amusement simply by observing them. Sometimes still Amnetas gets...bored.
Skills: Fast and powerful with a assortment of natural weapons, every Dragonborn could rightfully be considered an alpha predator. With their keen intellect, strong bodies, thick skin and hard scales, razor sharp teeth and sharpened claws almost any Dragonborn would be considered a nightmare to face in close combat by many sapient races. And Amnetas is no exception.
However physical strength is not the focus of Amnetas's power, oh no. His power is derived from the arcane. Gifted with a natural magical ability present in every Dragonborn Amnetas has trained since he was barely thirty years old in the ways of Draconic Magic. From the elemental to the exotic and much in between. The path of the Deadiilus has all but consumed Amnetas's life.
Once when asked what he would do if any thief stole his coin purse Amnetas had this to say, "If such an event should occur, my friend, I will simply turn them into a coin purse." To this day it's unknown if he was joking or not.
Likes: Respect, Humor, Excellence, Winning, Ensuring the welfare of the Realm of Essim, Abroa Wine(A hardy wine made by the Minotaurs. Not liked by many other races but a common treat in Essim).
Dislikes: Failure, Boredom, Disrespect, Impudence, Risk of harm to Essim, Most alcohol made by other races.
Physical Description:
Approximately six feet and eight inches in height and around two hundred and forty seven pounds in weight Amnetas tends to tower over many of the races of Chrome. The general coloration of Amnetas' scales are a scattering of dull browns, forest greens and, the most prominent, warm bronze. His broad face is awash with signs of age -- from the "beard" of dreaded tentacles on his chin to his pronounced eye ridges to the elegant swept back spiraling horns on ether side of his head. Amnetas' eyes are a deep oceanic green that fits well with the majestic crest on the top of his head. An assortment of tentacles of varying lengths fall behind his head, the longest of which reach down to the middle of Amnetas' back. An array of smaller horns and four protruding teeth complete his mighty visage.
Amnetas' body tells a story if one bothered to look. Scars running down his arm with the pinky finger of the same appendage missing. A yellowish white patch of scales on his lower left leg -- what might seem natural to a non-Dragonborn, what one might assume to be a birth mark of sorts, would be considered very much unnatural to any of his species. These along with a few other oddities here and there tell an an assortment of tales indeed. Amnetas might spin those yarns if one asks nice enough, and if he's up for humoring another poor unfortunate soul that asks such things.
Amnetas' body is adorned with such things that tell an even greater story. Ornate onyx armor - light by Dragonborn standards - covers his arms, legs and torso. This ceremonial armor is the most obvious mark of The Kaitos Des, The Sharpened Travelers, for which he holds rank among and is recognizable to the majority of Dragonborn across Chrome. While ceremonial in nature it functions with just as much practicality as any armor of the line. Above this lies a red cloak(not to be confused with a robe or a cape) with simple black Draconic runes on his shoulder. This cloak marks his membership within one of the prominent arcane sects within Essim. The mid section of his right digitigrade leg( a common trait among the more reptilian Dragonborn males if more pronounced then the norm) is adorned with a simple silver bracer. Of no importances beyond personal matters this bracer is perhaps Amnetas's most cherished possession. An assortment of pockets, pouches and purses are scattered around his person holding a variety of things.
Completing it all is Amnetas' mage's staff-- carved out of dragon bone this magical channeler is just as practical as it is elegant(and is the symbol that identifies rank in his arcane order) -- and his Otulla. One of many, this enchanted dagger is the true symbol of the Kaitos Des.
History:
Born in the capital city of Athero within the powerful Jaagon clan, Amnetas' entire life has been dedicated to the arcane arts. Unlike well off human lines, to be born within a powerful clan within Essim does not grant one the ability to go through life without care. Indeed, to be born within such a clan marks one to much hardship and trials -- to prove their worth amongst the clan and bring honor to their line. The art of the arcane has been in the forefront of the Jaagon clan's heritage for as long as anyone can remember, maybe as far back as the time of legend but none alive knows for sure. At age 30 Amnetas' magical training truly began -- the most intense training he has yet experienced lasting more then 220 years. Enjoying both the challenge and the chance to hone his arts, Amnetas considers those years some of the best times in his life. At the age of 257 Amnetas was offered the chance to join the arcane order known in human tongue as The Sect of Arcane Draconii. A famed order which boasts several members of the Council of Dracan situated amongst their ranks.
Ten years of trials it took before even seriously being considered able to join their ranks. For ten years Amnetas' magical ability was pushed to the limit. Finally at long last his final trial came: To slay a wild dragon that's been plaguing settlements in the northern mountains. Amnetas does not hate his wild brethren like so many others. No, he feels remorse for them; to think that his kin could fall so far from Helm's light. Five long hours the culminating battle took. Five hours of brother striking against brother.
Though scarred and beaten Amnetas ultimately stood victorious over his mortally wounded foe. Rather then simply slay the beast and be done with it, Amnetas ended its life as quickly and humanely as possible, offering this prayer, "Rest now, my brother. Let your spirit fly through the wind and may your essence be met with praise by the Great Helm. Eternity binds us all."
Years past as Amnetas made a name for himself within his newfound order. For both his dedication and his boredom. 'Amnetas the Bored Sage" they call him. Infamous for such acts like bringing the statues in the courtyard to life just because he wanted to see them dance. Because such...happenings...tend to occur when he has nothing to do the Order generally send him off to do various things that might slate his infamous boredom. Or at the very least keep the worst of it away from their citadel.
Barely fifteen years ago Amnetas was granted an unimaginable honor. To become a Kaitos Des, A Sharpened Traveler -- The Will of Essim.
