Introduction
The first, and most awe-inspiring, aspect of the island that ones eyes would be drawn onto was the large volcano that would be easily mistake for mountain if it wasn’t for the large and seemingly endless amount of smoke escaping from the top. After managing to break away from that view, their eyes would then latch onto the multi-colored roofed and oddly shaped cross of Modern and Egyptian structures that was the design of the Academia Main Building, placed at the foot of the mount-, volcano. Finally, after closing dropped jaws, the students would turn to look at the small light-house, would stood jutting out from the Pier, signaling the beginning of the academy ground, signaling the beginning of their new lives and friendships to come.
The passenger ship harboring the new students arrives at the docks. Gliding to a stop, the boat lowers down its stairs to let the kids off. They pile onshore, eager to start their years at the academy. After a moment of confusion, an adult steps into the view of all the new arrivals. He introduces himself as the Vice-Chancellor and then begins to shepherd them all into a classroom with a screen. After all the students had entered the screen flickered on, showing a man behind a desk.
"Good morning and welcome my students, I'm Chancellor Laurence, the Headmaster here." He begins. "And you are the best and brightest young duelist in the world. The teaching staff here will work their hardest to make sure you become a pro in no time at all! You don't need money here, rather we take Dueling Points. You earn them by dueling, the better you play the more you earn. These points can be spent on a variety of things, most commonly used for buying booster packs. Now please, get yourself settled in at your assigned dorms. I think you'll find them quite comfortable. Depending on how you ranked of course."
The screen flicks off and the Vice-Chancellor takes to the stage. He starts to call out the names of students one by one. When the student come on the stage he/she is handed three things; an official Duel Academy Duel-Disk, A high-tech bracelet (Explained as a device used to keep track of your DP count), and three complete sets of your new uniform. After everyone received their packages, the Vice-Chancellor dismissed everyone and left the room through a side door.
Welcome to my new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX RP! I personally think the GX universe will be the easiest to role-play in because it’s set in a limited area. As the story gets deeper more areas will open up, but I want to focus on having fun more then the story, so don't get all stressed out. I'd tried to make this as free flowing as possible, so that if you need awhile off, you won't be holding anybody back. I don’t intend to hold a stern hand over this, I’ll just build the road and let you drive however you so please, however break the rules and you’ll get pulled over, in a manner of speaking.
Feel free to ask questions and/or give you input on things as they happen. Have a good plotline idea? Don’t hesitate to send me a PM with details, because I want this to last and thus plots are needed.
One thing I ask your input in right now is;
Whether or not to allow the use of Sychros and/or Xyzs.
Arc-I
The New Kids In Town
During this arc, we will just stage duels for a few days to get a feel for the system. These duels don't have to be between other role-players, you could just duel a random un-named character.
Duel System
When cards are added to hand write it like so = [?+? Cards]
When adding or subtracting life points = [???? -/+ ??? = ???? LP]
When placing cards facedown or activating one, post remaining = [? Facedowns]
You get the gist of it right? Do this after every respective move.
We duel using the real-life rules, I don’t care how much money you have. However we ‘battle’ with an anime approach. For example, effects such as Time Wizard’s, were spinning the arrow instead of flipping a coin seems more appropriate, we’ll anime-it-up.
Duels will be played out in PM’s or any other convenient way, written as one, single, collaborative work, and posted all at once to avoid confusion and spamming the IC with small battle paragraphs.

Jason stopped walking as they were nearing the edge of the forest and as Lena finished up what she was saying. He looked at her with a straight face. "You know, if more people decided to do what your doing, I bet there would be a lot more happy people in this world. Most people wait around for something to happen to them so that they realize what they want to do. You on the other hand are out on an island searching for it. I hope you know that's pretty amazing. Well, I really hope you find what works for you. I'll be rooting for you." Jason said with another closed eye smile.
Lena then pointed out the gaggle of Ra students, and that they should follow them. Jason didn't enjoy crowds at all. It wasn't because he anti-social, it was because Jason had a history of crowds turning into angry mobs. Though, these were students and he doubted that would happen here. Besides, they probably were heading towards the dorm. "Alright, yeah we should follow them. That many people moving in the same direction, gotta be the way to the dorm. Let's go" he said. They started to follow the mob, but their destination was not the one he originally thought it was going to be. It seemed everyone was gathering to watch two Slifer students duel. "Huh, we didn't find the dorm, but we did find a duel. Silver lining." Jason said with a smile as they walked to the opposite side of the duel that the group was gathered on. The leader of the group seemed to be a short bronze boy with black hair and red eyes, just like Jason's hair and eyes. Except Jason was rather pale compared to this boy. He definitely had the attention of the ladies of the group as they fought for his attention. From the way he stood and the expression on his face, this boy seemed very pleased with himself, a little too pleased for Jason's opinion.
"What do you think Lena? Which of the two do you think is more skilled. The winged beast kid or the dragon kid?" Jason said, wondering what kind of duelist Lena was.

“Thank you very much” she said cheerfully.
It didn’t take the pair long to catch up with the crowd. Lena glanced at Jason and then at her box, suddenly feeling bashful.
“Hey, if I say something silly, just ignore me. I won’t feel bad.” Lena looked past a few people in the crowd. What she saw disappointed her greatly. The Silfer red dorm came into view, but then she saw hologram monsters. Maybe there was a silver lining after all. Seeing a duel on the first day isn’t too bad. Actually, it isn’t bad at all. Lena stood next to Jason and watched the duel. Almost instantly, her eyes turned to the dragon duelist. He had called out such a powerful monster early on it seems. Lena heard Jason question her again, but this time she didn’t face him. She was watching the duel carefully.
“I’d bet on the winged beast duelist” she said with a serious face.
“He uses more of my style of dueling.” Lena thought back to the deck she had brought to the academy. It wasn’t her style to attack head on, since her strongest monster in her deck has only 1700 attack points. Instead, she focuses on counter attacks. The goal of her deck is to increase the attack power of her monsters, and to also increase her life points, giving her a greater chance of winning. Lena watched the duel closely. With each turn, the winged duelist confidence grew.
“I think he’s has a plan. I know for a fact that he’ll pull through” she finished with a satisfied smile.
"Which duelist do you believe is more skilled? I have a feeling that you would pick the dragon duelist." Lena turned to Jason and looked at him.
“Question! Why did you come to duel academy? I have a feeling that you are on a quest too.” Lena eyes showed nothing, but curiosity.

Jason then looked at Lena with a raise eyebrow. "Why do you think that, just because I'm a guy you think i think the better duelist is the one with the biggest monster. I had no idea you were such a sexist." Jason said, appearing to be offended but he was joking. "Honestly, I think you can't judge someones skill from one duel, even if the winged beast kid wins, the dragon kid may still be better. That's where the luck aspect of the game comes in. I don't know who's better, but your probably right that the winged beast kid is going to win." Lena then asked him about his quest.
"Well, I guess you'd be right, I am on a quest. My quest is bringing honor back to my family name. Everyone links my family name with the deeds of my father, thinking that all of us are just as evil as him. So I want to make a name for myself as duelist. I want to be known as duelist with honor and respect and always plays fair. So people will stop hearing Jack when my last name is mentioned, instead they'll think of Jason. And so my mom will be allowed to go back into public and maybe h=get her job back. She was fired for the deeds of my father. I just want to show the world that the Stryke family is good." Jason said with a serious face. He then realized that he said his last name. He quickly tried move the spot light back on Lena.
"I know it's not the same as your quest, but it's mine." Jason said with a smile.

As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all Dragon-Type monsters cannont be targeted by Spell Cards, Trap Cards, or Effects of monsters that designate a target.
"I hope you didn't have any plan of activating any traps to counter my Red Eyes attack." Hanataro looks at his Red Eyes and says to him self muttering "I'm going to make you proud dad. Even with out your Darkness Dragon."
He makes a smirk across his face and yells out "Red Eyes! Crush that Harpie!" Red Eyes charges up a fire blast from it's mouth aiming at the Cyber Harpie.

“I’m sorry. Please forgive me for making such a highly inappropriate statement.” Her giggles were short lived when Jason started to speak again. She was fascinated by his input. Maybe he had studied at a prep school for dueling.
“Luck does play a key facture, but luck will not always be on your side. I believe that someone with skill can use any card to bring out a fighting chance. Like a strategist! They often find ways to certain cards to make an unstoppable force. Just like the winged duelist.” Lena gestured towards the winged duelist. He had just brought his Cyber Harpie back from the grave. The duel would be over soon. Lena watched the duel, but listened to Jason carefully. When he began, she knew she would like his quest. It seemed like it was straight out of a fairy tale. ‘But what caused his life to end up like this?’ she thought.
‘Stryke. Stryke. Why does that name ring a bell?’ Lena glanced down at her box and stared at it as if it had all of the answers. She knew he had heard the name before, but couldn’t put her finger on it. Judging from what he had just told her, it couldn’t have been good. Lena knew that she shouldn’t judge or even meddle in his affairs, but she wanted to know more. Darn her curiosity. ‘It would be strange to ask him about his story, after all we just met’ she thought as she bit her lip. Lena jerked back into reality after hearing Jason speak again. If she didn’t think of something quick, he would notice her sudden interest in his story.
“Like a warrior” she shouted.
“I like hero stories. So, you are like a noble warrior trying to take away the shame that was placed upon your family. How exciting. Good luck on your quest. I’ll cheer you.” If he didn’t think she was loopy before, then it probably did now.
“Actually, I use a warrior deck myself; an Amazoness desk to be precise. It just needs a little work.”

Derek is woken from his slumber by the increasing sounds of cheering and applause coming from behind him, and his not the only one. The main door creaks open as the new headmaster of the Red dorms walks out. It was pretty obvious that she had just woken up from her mid-da y nap, as her clothes were wrinked up. "Oh." She says as she takes in the amount of yellow. The new voice quiets the crowd of students. "Umm....as..'Pleasant' as it is to see you kids enjoying yourselfs. But what are you all doing here?" The students answered her question with two answers; They ether heard about the duel going on, or they didn't know where their respective dorms were located. Sighing, she pointed them out. Just as she finished, Derek appeared from behind the dorm. He presence instantly silenced anybody still in the area. Yawning, he made his way to the lady in red. "Excuse me miss, do you know where the Blue Dorms are?" She was mildly surprised, But informed him too. "My I ask you why you where sleeping behind the dorm?" She asked him politely as he started to walk away. "I liked the view." He answered as he walked away. She nodded, as if that was all she needed to hear.
